Welcome to July 21st on the National Day Calendar. Today, we're indulging in some guilty pleasures and making a positive impact. National Junk Food Day is a chance to enjoy all your favorite guilty pleasures without actually building guilty. Whether it's chips, candy, pizza, or fast food, junk food has a special place in all of our hearts. Junk food was first coined in the 1970s to describe food with little nutritional value. While it's important to eat a balanced diet, today is all about treating yourself to some tasty snacks you might normally try to avoid. Celery, carrots, radishes... Probably like a juicy cheeseburger in front fries. What about you? Wow, either pizza or Cheetos. Pizza or Cheetos? How about Cheetos on pizza? I have never tried that. I've tried Cheetos on like dally sandwiches before. That's delicious. What? All right, I see you Mr. Junk Food. Yeah, I know. From indulgence to inspiration, it's also national be someone day. Be someone day was established by the organization Project Harmony to encourage positive actions that can help prevent child abuse and neglect. Whether it's through mentorship, support, or simply showing kindness, every small action can make a big difference in someone's life. How are you celebrating today? While I'm supporting Village of Becoming today, why don't you tell us about that, Latoya? Village of Becoming is a nonprofit organization that focuses on aged out foster kids, homeless youth, and young adults coming from poverty-stricken areas. We offer scholarships, mentorships, and even curriculum to help kids get on their feet. All of this stuff helps young adults become successful and self-sustainable. You know, for putting you on the spot like that, that was pretty impressive. You know, it's my passion. I love kids. I can tell, so check out Village Becoming Everybody, and this is how you can be someone today if you want to help out over there. So, all right, Latoya, take it home. I'm Latoya Johnson. I'm Marlo Anderson. Thank you for joining us on our journey to celebrate every day. Until next time, keep celebrating.
