be on Friday it's April Marie focal hey well good afternoon hi darling afternoon so I just I mean we read some of these texts from last hour so I have my friend Robert Kennedy junior on and Robert Democrat a person is run for office been successful in the primary side of it works as a strategist as well he's a guy who says he really feels good about Kamala Harris's chances of winning this election so I'll turn that around and say do you feel where do you feel where do you put the odds on vice president Harris has candid here winning in this 2024 cycle I mean let's be let's not get ourselves everyone who is saying that is being paid to say that is one keeping it on there so they have something to say later like I've told the party line I did the thing I said the thing but nobody expects her to win this I mean she is one of the worst campaigners I've ever seen and she is there because no one else wants to lose to Trump and the fact of the matter is Trump is all but unbeatable at this point he had a lot of momentum coming off that debate the disaster is to bait with Biden and then getting shot rallying the way he did and he really humanizing himself I think the Democrats are like we'll just put up somebody we're not gonna miss later somebody who can be very very easily embarrassed in Trump and we don't care this is a this is a John McCain moment this is a moment where she is and I'm talking about McCain Trump I'm talking about McCain in the general yeah I think this is a soccer she is a sacrificial lamb and the only thing they have going for them is the boxes are guess are the boxes she checked for DEI well she's a woman and she's a woman of color and she is this and she's that and and the fact of the matter is I just don't think it matters she's also a cackling madwoman I'll put you down it's undecided before you get to that point of deciding those you know who people vote for is the money votes beforehand and you know Robert was talking about that I've seen the same stories maybe it was just the pent up huge dissists dissatisfaction the donor class had with Biden or it's something else but at least money has started flowing from a Democrat perspective they're getting some money in now you know and that's the mother's mocha politics here is there enough money for Kamala Harris vice president Harris to be president Harris all the money in the world and gonna help her she is just that bad there is I think there anytime a candidacy is announced on this level there's gonna be an uptick of donations I saw people I know friends of mine who personal social media that they've given to her there there was these huge TikTok things to give small donors to give to her I think it's fine you know people are excited you couldn't really get excited about Joe Biden Joe Biden hasn't been excited in 20 years except 100 cuts and checks and so I think that we have we we have an opportunity here to not just drown some but embarrass them okay so with that then I didn't even get a chance to talk to Robert we ran out of time about the down ballot implications of this I think that was to me I thought that was one of the worries I understand the donor class decided that they were done with giving money to present Biden in that campaign but the other part is in the politics of it wasn't just people in Washington but I think the people in the 50 states the Democrats going hey this is gonna be bad for us down ballot yeah well I think that I don't know that Kamala helps except for the money of course to get out the vote efforts but you know she isn't one of her big things is that she's incredibly pro abortion pro choice and so that vote was already got to come out in November and swing state will it matter I just I don't see it at the end of the day the energy staying there if people are paying attention to her more than you know one or two speeches if the media actually has to stop start covering her the way they cover presidential candidate she is just she is going to embarrass those around her and I don't think she mobilizes the base you don't that's interesting like I completely agree with you in undecided votes I think it's gonna be a fail for undecided voters out there but you don't think she motom mobilizes the base of the Democratic well she did in her own primary I mean she was she dropped out before the first primary because she knew she didn't see in the chance and her only stand chance to get a high office was on the merits of her di score not her intelligence not her policy chops nothing else and and and I'm there's gonna be a lot of people who are going to be called racist or between now and November and I'm just gonna open it up right here and say it's not true people are stupid and you have to be willing to say this woman is unqualified in every way and it has nothing to do with her race so yeah and listen I mean it's water off a ducks back I mean you should be with most people if you're not a big it you're not big it but yeah there's some people hide from that but is that enough if you say that would that not be a motivator for the base that hey there's this this is a opportunity to have a a moment here that you have a black woman elected I mean that back to the base of the Democrats well here's a thing is this is an Obama we're talking about we're talking about we're talking about a woman who can hardly string together coherent sentence to repeat yourself ad nauseam we're talking about a woman who who can't you know kid stop laughing about things are incredibly inappropriate I just don't think that minority whether it be women or African Americans are easily fooled and that's what the Democrats have done for decades well we have people who look like you but clearly they share the same values just joining us April yes okay so do you think the simple question better chance you think none have a good chance but do you think they at least said well Harris has a better chance of then Biden beating Trump I mean yeah yeah we're gonna lose but we're gonna lose by us no absolutely not at least Biden had at least Biden had people who wanted to thank him for her service they know what they were getting when they got him Kamala Harris is is just like again who else were they going to choose their on their options were pretty limited the Democrats don't have a defense the presidential election and so they have to they had to have somebody on that ticket and it's gonna be her otherwise we would see a very contested way if they thought they could be Trump she wouldn't be the nominee yeah and take the the part I thought would have had Trump world worried and of course he ended up Monday or Sunday or Monday said he he wouldn't run in the mansion factor was interesting right I was like that could give some trouble to Trump but he said he's not running so it's not in that that was one of the Democrat independent who would have gone back to being a Democrat to run that I thought would have been made in a pretty tight race well and she we still gotta be you should put up for her vice presidential not Shapiro Shapiro Shapiro yeah has this been decided no no I'm just I'm just saying I'm not gonna miss something in the last 10 minutes but I'll try to figure out how to jump my car no no it's not been for sure I mean listen it could be you make a case for bashiers I made the Mark Kelly discussion but Shapiro I mean if you just talk about the raw politics of the Keystone State I don't know that's enough though to change the way because I have some familiarity in the state as you know and I have plenty of family in that state and outside you got Pittsburgh and you got Philly and they're big urban centers and they're definitely blue country in their suburbs and some one of the experts are blue but you get into where my people come from but it's no different than voters in Alabama I mean it's just it's red now not as many of them as there are packed into Pittsburgh and and Philly but I don't know that they would just all sudden I don't think Shapiro would change somebody who's already an undecided voter leading towards Trump if they're governors now on the ticket the Democrat I don't think they change I don't but I don't have a polling on it it's just me holding my finger in there well and again you're looking at the top of the ticket and you're thinking do I want you know I didn't nobody wanted and and people who didn't like we've had this conversation of people who didn't like or care for Trump as a person which by the way he softened a lot but being shot at might do that to somebody but people who didn't like Trump still weren't willing to vote for Biden and the likeability factor of Kamala Harris is our Kamala Harris is is just so bad yeah so I said no so I don't I don't think that even the shiny is prettiest best candidate as VP on that ticket is gonna help her out okay and then just just a minute or so here your take on JD Vance is the VP nominee here for Trump does it better the ticket neutral the ticket decrease the ticket I think it better the ticket we saw what happened with Mike Pence it just never seemed like Trump and Pence were were together like they were ever in step and think and I think that JD Vance and him have a lot more in common I like that JD Vance take you know remind me of Trump without all the craftness he takes shots at people he's not afraid to stand up for what he believes and I think he was a really good choice I think it was not the safe choice but I think it's a text from last hour and about a conversation I had with with Robert Kennedy Jr. my buddy listen this is he's good to get him back on and doing this people like well you know you let you absolutely if you want to let's say number one I do it because I want to make sure different opinions get aired right so we can debate the issues I think Robert's wrong he thinks I'm wrong but we can debate these issues the other side of it is if you are somebody trying to understand where support comes from or what the Democrats might be thinking it's good it's good to get that out there and so you can think about it think about the opposing argument to that same thing that April Marie did when she's arguing that there's no chance that Vice President Harris becomes president Harris I got to agree with her I don't think I don't think she wins let's see and then some here about oh yeah we did want to get to this one from T-bone this is interesting I hadn't thought about it that way T-bone I just think Manchin is a force I think remember the old although I don't know T-bone will probably just both be an old because I thought about the Democrats in the past that would be a danger in this cycle center left right they just even though Biden campaign to be center left and looked at him how far how far left he went but what T-bone said here is Manchin as a Democrat would lose big Lee if Manchin ran as an independent Trump would lose yeah it's I think Manchin is a force I really do let's see and John said oh is this about April Marie she has a liberal sounding accent for a conservative what does that mean was a conservative accent what's a a liberal accent but you could say I don't know what a liberal I can tell you but okay look at people baby make a unfair judgment but have a sound that's it no so April Marie is not she's she's right of a till of the hunt so don't worry she'll be hosting the show on on Friday so you can talk with her about it all right this that just came out here this I've got it in the last few minutes here I a memo here a letter from Mayor Stimson's office of course Bovial City Council meeting was today this says let's see this statement from okay it says statement below from Mayor Sandy Stimson regarding Bovial City Council's investigation of claims made by the former chief of police Paul Prine this investigation I guess is back in they looked it over here's this this is in quote and this is coming from Mayor Stimson said today the City Council's special investigator submitted his report outlining his investigation and findings into allegations made by Paul Prine after he's placed on administrative leave the special investigator's report presents represents the conclusion of a long and distracting saga created by disgruntled and misdirected employee with it brings a mix of emotions I am grateful that this report has proven that the vast majority of Paul Prine's many meandering allegations were simply never true it clears the name of several city employees and career public servants who never deserved to have their integrity questioned so publicly or so recklessly as mayor I'm responsible for my staff and the leadership I put in place over city departments I made the decision to haul to hire Paul Prine I made the decision to fire him I regret that I didn't do it sooner had I done so it would have saved thousands of taxpayer dollars and save countless wasted hours of defending our staff against his false allegations I'm angry about the time wasted and the money expended it is unfortunate that special counsel characterized the situation with an MPD leadership as dysfunctional that unfairly cast aspersions on an incredible group of men and women in the department and its leadership positions goes on here his report also makes allegations about the way a draft version of the 321 Z contract was handled while we disagree with his characterization characterizations about the drafting process in this contract we take any allegation of crime or misconduct very seriously is important to note that there is no evidence of illegal or unethical monetary gain regarding this contract however after reading the report yesterday afternoon I immediately sent it to Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood for review and action additionally we sent the findings to the Alabama Ethics Commission and the Office of Professional Responsibility this morning the special counsel is correct that there was a problem with MPD's leadership goes okay here the special counsel is correct that there was a problem within MPD's leadership and we took steps to deal with it let me be clear the chief of staff and executive director of public safety were acting consistently under my direction hindsight shows that one person causes dysfunction and disruption because he could not adhere to the chain of command and follow the directives of his supervisors he is no longer here and we are moving forward ending here it says I want to thank the special prosecutor for acknowledging that my administration did exactly what we said we would do we gave them everything they asked of us and fully cooperated with their investigation most importantly thank you to those who have been praying for us in our city we have felt support from the many citizens who've reached out to provide boards of encouragement I want the citizens to know that I'm as proud as ever to serve as mayor as your mayor so this just out well that was not much mincing of words in that email from Mayor Stimson we kind of go back through this and talk about it when we come back right here on the day mobile wow so first blush your thoughts on that be interested to hear from different players in this going forward I don't just don't think this mobile on this Tuesday back to that letter that came out from Mobile Bears Sandy Stimson regarding the investigation the city council put on for so let's investigate this with my buddy Blaine Price over at Paris tractor in Robert Stale I've played it we're like I don't know if you realize it's fixing to be August and what comes next for outdoors minutes plant and season we're not far off of getting people to the camp and getting patches planted what you got for us absolutely yeah we're still running on all of our new tractors we still got the zero interest financing through Kubota that's all Kubota and land product equipment but something I want to hit on right now Sean is we've been trading in a lot of tractors a lot of good tractors I just traded in 140 horse L series tractor you know it's got 55 hours on it would make a great deer hunting tracker great tracker for the deer camp so you know if you're not in the market for a brand new one we do have you know the pre-owned equipment as well and some of it is you know a mint condition so definitely come check it out yeah and you know y'all not only tractors but they got the implements like you're saying that you need to get the work done there on the on the rental side here how's that looking on the on the rental side for for people looking for like a weekend project or maybe it's something's gonna take them all week yeah yes so you're your weekend projects around the house we've got all that equipment all the way down to the handheld items man lives tractors get steers excavators the Toro dingos a little bit of everything there but we also have the the tractors with all the implement so if you are someone that is not in the market to buy tractor to go to the deer camp with you can come rent that tractor with my gosh Tom moves fast the older you get right it moves faster and faster the e-billed came out now this is just out and I read through it in the last segment and this is from Mayor Stimson and it's entitled Mayor Stimson issues statement on special counsel investigation the like a pretty uh pretty heavy here the language coming from the mayor push him back on former chief prime and then the one part that stood out like the 80% of this letter is about the investigation specifically allegations made by prime about different employees with the city this that or the other there's one paragraph that stands out to me I was talking to a friend about this just a second ago it says we can go back through this but it says okay so this is Mayor Stimson talking and he goes his report so this is a special investigator right that the city council had hired here the Athanas Athanas Athanas I think came back and said his report so Thaniss' report also makes allegations about the way a draft version of the 321Z contract was handled while we disagree with his characterizations around the drafting process of this contract which so I gotta see the report right so reading not too far between the lines here it says that this didn't come back the way the other things did it looks like I'm projecting here because I don't have the report in front of me but that they did the report the the the report has issues with this 321Z contract says his report also makes allegations about the way a draft version of the 321Z contract was handled while we disagree with his characterizations around the tied to the orbit of the claims made by former Chief Prine that one paragraph was different than the other ones kind of stood out to me from the text line here on Tim saying oh it's on now we're fixing to find out just exactly what happened because Chief Prine is going to let it all come out and we're going to get to make a decision for ourselves Simpson is Stimson is trying to smear Prine just as expected it's uh it I mean go back through parts of this I mean I can read it again but this is in the language coming from the mayor here he's it seems to be written by somebody who's pretty sure of what they're saying because it's not it doesn't leave it doesn't seem to be gray in this and once again this is his reaction mayor Stimson's reaction to reading the report that came back in the report that was done you know by the by the city council having you know paid to have this thing done um but it says uh lines like this one I am grateful that this report has proven that the vast majority the vast majority now that's interesting as well uh but it has proven that the vast majority of Paul of Paul Prine's many meandering allegations were simply never true it clears the name of several city employees in career public servants who never deserve to have their integrity questions so publicly or so recklessly so the three okay I'm thinking about who they may be I think you got an idea um it goes on to say this too it says this is kind of a you know a tactic a turn of phrase here I mean I probably would use something like this too right mayor writes it is unfortunate that the special council characterized the situation with an MPD leadership as dysfunctional so there's one sentence right so so the report's going to say it's dysfunctional and then they go on to say uh mayor goes on to say that unfairly cast aspersions on an incredible group of men and women in the department and its leadership positions so this is uh this is the reaction I don't know and don't know anybody let me know if they've posted the actual investigation is it in a pdf we can get hold of because what I'm looking at here like I'm sure many of y'all will hear in the newscast all evening and tonight uh the reaction from the mayor but I would like to have the actual investigative report uh to to see to read through that then to hear the reactions um that says afternoon Sean if the investigative report was delivered me by the city council then how come the mayor is the one leading the narration here wasn't he supposed to be independent of it mat well he well I'll say this mat in defense this letter here is hey I read the report you I don't know members of city council if y'all need to text me if y'all have had your statement here too but this is the mayor saying um he's reacting to the report you're okay what you're saying is it's done by the city council so why I mean I'm putting words in your uh I'm putting text in your text here mat are you saying that it should be the city council reacting to the report not the mayor but I don't know I don't know if that's as big a deal I mean the report comes in the mayor saying hey here's what I think of the report uh what we got to do is got uh hopefully here soon on the show we'll get uh the players back on remember when this all went down we had both former now former chief pryne on the show several times with us had Mayor Stimson on the show with us as well talking about their signs of it I do need to like all of us uh go ahead and look at this report I don't know how long it is I don't know if it's in you know a form that's going to be tough to read I don't know we'll look at it by tomorrow for sure I'll be able to give you more on that so but your thoughts here I guess at first blush of hearing those comments it seems the things that have stood out to me number one the paragraph about 321z contract so once again I'm deconstructing and deconstructing it sounds like this report back from thonis didn't have great things to say about the 321z contract I better I gotta see it all right come and write back three four three zero one zero six that's how we talk all the text line or the phone line out there all right the story we're talking about here there's this email has come in from the mayor's office in the last last hour or so i'll check with my friend uh look here she's uh joining me in studio ericotomas from 18 19 news dot com hey how did he shine this is this is a big development last out thing came out yeah last hour yeah and this is after the council meeting today nobody mentioned this year in the council meeting what okay and that you know some people are like matt had asked like uh you know why that the investigative report didn't go to the council first i don't know if it did and they didn't comment or right yeah they might be allowing stimpson to to release his report first and then we'll hear more and more from council members i suspect a lot of times at night they'll send out those those email pushes from each council member so i suspect that will probably happen uh obviously news stations are calling everybody involved here i've already talked to paul prawn uh since this came out and he said he hadn't seen the statement or the investigation yet so he wants to wait to comment until he can read the full thing but he is gonna give us a call pretty shortly as soon as he he gets that when they posted on their website uh but he said he hasn't heard from stimpson since this investigation came back so he hasn't he hasn't been in contact with him uh and he just he's curious to see what it is uh that this special council have found because they clearly found something or we wouldn't be forwarding this information to the ethics commission or the district attorney's office yeah i'm looking at this erica the the language in here and i don't know what the proper language and i don't mean language like mancy mace cursing yesterday i don't need that but this coming from the mayor there's three or four places in here we could read back through it's it's not it's not neutral language it's it's it seems animated now you know as much as words on a page can it's uh said here quote from this email from mayor stimpson said i'm grateful that this report has proven that the vast majority of paul prawns many meandering allegations were yes and i i have to say we have to point this out paul prawns at this time and time again he said i'm not saying that something happened i'm not saying that i'm not alleging that a crime happened or ethics violation happened i'm saying that it appears there might be improprieties he was very careful with how he said that but in this statement stimpson went on to say you know he wishes he would have fired him sooner he called him disgruntled there was a lot of a lot of adjectives in there that were i mean he definitely didn't miss words yeah there it is today the city council special investigators submitted his report outlining his investigation and findings into allegations made by paul prawn after he's placed an administrative leave the special investigators report represents the conclusion to a long and distressing saga created by a disgruntled and misdirected employee with it brings a mix of emotions i mean like i said this is when skin is you're not hearing the person but his words on the page and there's no equification here i mean it seems right you know you know what he's saying and and the bad thing is prawn even when i asked him about specific leadership he never said the names of the people he said he would say sometimes you know we might need to look into whoever's over this person this person but he was very careful on how he spoke about these things and and when you get into legal issues like this this is why he was so careful he said from the beginning on this show by the way because this is where it all started um yeah yeah as far as what they're investigating that is exactly what he came on this show and said is what they're investigating so it was not my i'm just here as a conduit Erica i'm a conduit um well you you can do it um well i am interested too that the uh that the paragraph is well and i know i'm kind of parsing through this email from the mayor but then again none of us have being you and i and very few people have the actual report right so i'm having to deconstruct by what the mayor has said and i'm making a guess here y'all of what could be in the report by the reaction from the mayor yeah and i'm sure he's had the report for a couple of days they're probably having to redact it before it can be fully put out there um but it's clear what stemson wants us to see are the things that the investigators found that were not true with with what they're investigating so but this paragraph i pointed out earlier does it why would you why unless this was over overwhelming why would you point to the 321c contract because that paragraph was different than the others it's at his report meaning the investigator his report also makes allegations about the way a draft version of the 321z contract was handled while we disagree with his characterizations around the drafting process of this contract we take any allegation of crime or misconduct very seriously so it's crime or misconduct yeah what which is kind of what allegations right right so the allegation right so i mean we're just deconstructing once again neither of us have the report but if you say there's that so there's allegation of crime or misconduct or both in this by the by the report coming in it said it is important to note that there is no evidence of legal or an ethical monetary gain regarding this contract however after reading the report yesterday afternoon i immediately send it to mobile county district attorney clique blackwood for review in action additionally we send it to uh findings to the alabama ethics commission and the office of professional responsibility this morning that one paragraph did like you said the fact that it says we disagree with his characterizations that this is not prime this is the
