Mark Mayfield with more. As a result of Monday's move, any new diversity-related practices will be subject to an internal review by Secretary of Defense Pete Hankseth. Trump signed two other orders, including one, that reinstates those who were discharged for refusing the COVID vaccine, and one that bans those who identify as transgender from serving in the armed forces. A fourth calls for the creation of a so-called "next-generation Iron Dome missile defense system" to protect the U.S. I'm Mark Mayfield. The death toll from the devastating wildfires around Los Angeles is now at 29. Another death was reported by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office on Monday, the result of the "pallisades" fire. That fire erupted January 7 and destroyed more than 23,000 acres and thousands of structures. California Governor Gavin Newsom says he's cutting red tape when it comes to wildfire recovery efforts, Tammy Trujillo reports. Under a new executive order, Governor Newsom aims to speed up rebuilding efforts along the coast and provide more support for survivors of the recent fires. On ex, he says he wants to make it clear that red tape will not delay rebuilding efforts. Under the executive order, Newsom reiterates a permitting requirement under the California Coastal Act remains suspended. The order also allows people who have been affected by the fires to stay longer in hotels and short-term rentals, helping to increase the available temporary housing options for those in need. President Trump addressed the House Republican's annual policy retreat at his National Doral Resort, just outside of Miami Monday. The California Department of Water Resources is refuting a claim made by President Trump in his truth, social posts, Daniel Martindale has his story. On Monday night, Trump claimed the United States military went into California and under emergency powers turned on the water flowing down from the Pacific Northwest. The Department of Water Resources responded with an ex post saying the military did not enter California. It also says the water pumps being turned back on are federal water pumps that were temporarily offline due to maintenance for three days. The DWR adds that state water supplies in Southern California remain plentiful. State Senate pro tem Mike McGuire responded as well, saying water from the Pacific Northwest does not flow into the central valley and the military has not invaded the Delta. I'm Daniel Martindale. French President Emmanuel Macron is visiting the Louvre today after the museum's director called on the government to help with restorations to better protect the works of art house there. Ross Cullen reports. The problems at the Louvre include inadequate signage, a lack of space for visitors to take a break and insufficient food and sanitary facilities. The director of the world's most visited museum says the centuries old building is in a dire state and that a trip around the Louvre has become a physical ordeal. The Louvre, which counts the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo among its masterpieces, had almost nine million visitors last year. O.J. Simpson's youngest son is accused of improperly claiming ownership of his late father's home. That is according to a lawsuit filed by the special administrator of Simpson's estate. The home was bought by an LLC in August of 2022. That LLC is owned and managed by Justin Simpson, who's a real estate agent, but the lawsuit claims the LLC was actually the owner and name only. O.J.
