Mark Mayfield reports. In a statement, the White House said that the country had agreed to Trump's terms, including the unrestricted acceptance of all illegal aliens from Colombia returned from the United States. The statement also said the drafted actions on tariffs and sanctions would be held in reserve and not signed unless Colombia fails to honor this agreement. Trump is threatening retaliatory measures after Colombia denied entry to a pair of U.S. military deportation flights of lights involved to C-17 aircraft, which were carrying about 80 Colombian migrants each from California. In response, Trump announced on Truth Social Sunday, sweeping measures, including tariffs on Colombian imports, visa sanctions on government officials, and increased customs inspections and financial penalties. I'm Mark Mayfield. An AI company is putting forward a proposal that would allow the U.S. government to own as much as 50 percent of a new company that could buy TikTok from its Chinese owners. Perplexity AI is offering to join with the government to create an entity that for now is being called NUCO, who would buy TikTok without the company's core recommendation algorithm, and existing investors would receive equity in the new company. Perplexity is one of several companies expressing interest in buying TikTok, which has just a few weeks to find a U.S. buyer or face being banned here over national security concerns. The IRS will start accepting and processing 2024 income tax returns today. The official deadline to file your taxes is still April 15th. The agency did note that individuals and businesses affected by the wildfires in Southern California now have until October 15th to file their taxes. The NFL's biggest game of the season will feature a pair of familiar faces. Jalen Herz and the Eagles will be looking for avenge against Patrick Holmes and the Chiefs in a Super Bowl 57 matchup. The federal inspectors general are independent government figures charged with rooting out fraud, waste, and violations within their own agencies. White House officials confirm over a dozen of them were fired Friday night because they don't align with the new Trump administration, calling the move a very common thing to do. Trump defended their removal while speaking with Reporters Saturday. In a statement, the two organizations said the publishing agreement creates a license between Spotify and UMG through Spotify's product portfolio in multiple countries, including the U.S. The two companies also said that artists and consumers will benefit from the deal through new offers, paid subscription tiers, and a richer audio and visual content catalog.
