The event gets underway Monday afternoon at Trump National Durrell Golf Club and runs through Wednesday. In the evening, President Trump is expected to join Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson for a dinner and reception. Tuesday, Johnson and committee chairs will conduct breakout sessions as Republicans look to package the Trump administration's top priorities in a single bill. Before wrapping up Wednesday, the House Majority Leader Steve Scalise is scheduled to host a panel for the committee chairs. I'm Scott Carr in Washington. Senator Adam Schiff is slamming President Trump's decision to fire at least a dozen federal inspectors general. In an interview with NBC's Meet the Press, the Democratic Congressman said inspectors general play a vital role. In stopping fraud, abuse, and waste in the federal government. The American people, if we don't have good and independent specter generals, are going to see the swamp refill. They're going to see rampant waste fraud. They're going to see corruption. Schiff insisted that Trump broke federal law when he made the fireings. As Congress must be notified 30 days before any Senate confirmed inspector general is fired by the president. He said the move increases the risk of corruption under the Trump administration. Four Israeli soldiers held captive by Hamas since October of 23 are recovering at a hospital in southern Israel. The four women were released Saturday in exchange for 200 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons. Soon after the releases, the Israeli Prime Minister's office said Palestinian civilians would not be allowed to move back into their homes in northern Gaza as planned. Because an Israeli female civilian that was supposed to be released Saturday was not among those freed. An organic milk brand is issued a recall for thousands of cartons due to the risk of spoilage. For the 1900 cases of horizon organic, a septic, plain hole milk eight ounce cartons were sold in Arizona, California, and Nevada with an expiration date between March 3rd and March 7th. I'm Tammy Trujillo. The IRS will start accepting and processing 2024 income tax returns on Monday. Mark Mayfield has details. The official deadline to file your taxes is still April 15th. The agency did note individuals and businesses affected by the wildfires in southern California now have until October the 15th to file their taxes. California also aligned the state tax deadline with the IRS. I'm Mark Mayfield. I'm a proposal from an AI company would allow the US government to own as much as 50% of a new company that could buy TikTok from its Chinese owners. Perplexity AI is offering to join with the government to create an entity that's for now called New Co. It would buy TikTok without the company's core recommendation algorithm and existing investors would receive equity in the new company. The government would keep hard ownership under an IPO worth at least $300 billion. Perplexity is one of several companies expressing interest in buying TikTok, which has just a few weeks to find a US buyer or face being banned here over national security concerns. A drug enforcement administration rate in Colorado resulted in seized drugs, weapons, and apprehended international gang members. Lisa Carton has details. The DEA says its local division operated a raid on a drug trafficking ring that involved members of the Venezuelan gang, Trendo Aragua, ICE agents and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives were also on scene. The DEA said about 50 undocumented immigrants were taken into custody. I'm Lisa Carton. Playboy Magazine is bringing back its print issues after stopping during the pandemic and its first-cover model has been announced. In a collaborative post on Instagram Playboy, Lori Harvey shared the news of the actress and model's print cover. The post caption reads, "Playboy returns to print with Lori Harvey on the cover."
