For Israeli soldiers released from captivity today receiving medical evaluations after being reunited with their parents, the Israeli military says the four women were flown by helicopter to a hospital in southern Israel. Doctors say the four appear to be relatively healthy despite their 15 month or deal. Israel released 200 Palestinian prisoners as part of the ceasefire that went into effect last weekend. President Trump spoke to supporters today in Las Vegas. He thanked the crowds for getting him the electoral win in Nevada. He also promised to end taxes on tips throughout the state. During the speech, Trump floated the idea of rejoining the World Health Organization just days after he signed an executive order pulling the US out of the group. He said the US might re-enter the organization if they don't have to pay as much to join. South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem who gained a national spotlight during the coronavirus pandemic was confirmed by the Senate today to lead the Department of Homeland Security. Here's Lisa Carton. Following in the Senate's vote to confirm former South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem as Homeland Security Secretary, she resigned her former post. Lieutenant Governor Larry Rodin now becomes governor. In her resignation letter, Noem called it a privilege to serve the people of South Dakota. The Senate voted to confirm Noem for Homeland Security Secretary by a vote of 59-34 on Saturday. Noem will oversee 22 agencies with more than 260,000 employees who work on issues ranging from the border to federal disaster management to the Secret Service. I'm Lisa Carton. Officials at Chicago Public Schools mistakenly claimed that ICE agents visited the school yesterday. It turns out Secret Service agents were at Hamline Elementary School on an unrelated matter. A Secret Service spokesman said they were investigating a threat to one of our "protectees" related to the recent TikTok ban. Those agents went to a home near the school, and then the school itself, Chicago Public Schools said the two federal agents were not allowed in the school and left without entering. I'm Chris Caragio. First Aid Beauty is recalling more than 2,700 jars of its ultra repair cream. The beauty brand says 14-ounce jars of ultra repair cream coconut vanilla meant for quarantine were mistakenly sold on the company's direct-to-consumer website, firstaidbeauty.com. The voluntary December 23 recall was recently classified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a class II risk. That means user exposure to the product could cause temporary negative health effects. The beauty brand says the recalled products were sold only on their website and includes jars with lot numbers 24-D-44 and 24-D-45 with expiration dates of April 10th and April 11th, 2026. Target is the latest big company to end its diversity, equity and inclusion programs. Here's Lisa Carton. The Minneapolis-based retailer announced the decision in a memo to employees on Friday. According to CNBC, the memo cited the importance of staying in step with the evolving landscape to help drive growth and serve its millions of customers with the move target joins companies like Walmart, Meta and McDonald's in dropping DEA-related pledges and goals. However, in prior years, Target had said the murder of George Floyd in the company's hometown of Minneapolis motivated it to strengthen its DEI programs. I'm Lisa Carton.
