This is your 24/7 news update, the latest views this hour in just four minutes. The Commander-in-Chief landed in LA to see firsthand the fire-ravaged areas President Trump is promising federal support for Los Angeles County in the wake of the devastating palisades and eaten wildfires. California Congressman Brad Sherman is among several local officials asking Trump for federal aid. "16 times as much property damage here as from Hawaii, and I'm hoping that we get at least 16 times the federal appropriation for the CDBG program that helps people rebuild." On Friday afternoon, Trump met with first responders and wildfire survivors in Pacific palisades, the site of the most expensive natural disaster in Los Angeles history. He also toured the disaster area in the air and on the ground. Trump then took questions and comments from local officials and property owners. Trump also says he plans to come back to Los Angeles to celebrate when disaster areas are cleaned up and rebuilt. Vice President J.D. Vance is confirming Pete Hegseth as the new Secretary of Defense. "On this vote, the yeas are 50 and the nays are 50. The Senate being equally divided, the Vice President votes in the affirmative and the nomination is confirmed." A tense vote in the Senate Friday night ended in a tie after three Republicans voted against his confirmation. Vice President Vance had to act as a tiebreaker and voted Hegseth in. This is only the second time in history that a Vice President has had to act as a nomination tiebreaker. And Hamas is naming four female Israeli soldiers who will be freed in the second prisoner swap. The four will reportedly be released Saturday in exchange for Palestinian prisoners under the Gaza ceasefire deal. This comes after the release last week on the ceasefire's first day. And that's the very latest. I'm Jim Forbes. Mexico has denied a deportation flight from the United States. Two military planes flew deportees out of the U.S. to Guatemala on Thursday night, but a third flight headed towards Mexico never took off. It's not clear why Mexico, a longtime U.S. ally, blocked the flight, but tensions between the two countries have been growing since President Trump won the election in November. Flying deportees into a foreign country requires the cooperation of that nation's government and Mexico has declined to give its consent. The Mexican government has said it opposes Trump taking "unilateral action" to implement his immigration laws. The Gulf of Mexico is now called the Gulf of America. Ryan Schook has more. The federal government is implementing name changes under a directive from President Trump. That includes reversing an Obama-era decision to rename Mount McKinley in Alaska to Denali. Denali is the name that local natives used. Meanwhile, former President McKinley never visited Alaska. The Interior Department says the name changes are effective immediately for federal use. I'm Ryan Schook. The Department of Justice says it will largely stop prosecuting people who stop women from accessing reproductive health care. It's currently illegal for protesters to block entrances, damage property, or threaten patients in front of reproductive health clinics. On Friday, the DOJ says it will now reflect President Trump's position on abortion access and will reduce efforts to charge protesters who stop women from going into places like Planned Parenthood. Trump has already pardoned protesters who injured a nurse and harassed patients at a female health care clinic back in 2023. And flight risk starring Mark Wahlberg is off to a decent start at the box office. I'm Jim Forbes.
