Sally Patterson has more. Challenges from four democratic states argue Trump's action violates the U.S. Constitution. Specifically, they say the 14th amendment, which says anyone born in the country, is a citizen. A judge in Seattle has on Thursday agreed to pause, implementing the policy for 14 days, while more briefings are held. There are also several other legal challenges across the country, creating an early speed bump in Donald Trump's roadmap for his presidency. Sally Patterson, New York. Trump's pick for Secretary of Defense, Pete Haggseth, has advanced through the Senate confirmation. The Senate voted largely along party lines with a final vote of 51-49. Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins voted against him, with Murkowski saying that she cannot in good faith support his nomination. She added past behavior that Haggseth has admitted to, including infidelity on multiple occasions, demonstrates a lack of judgment. Haggseth has faced allegations of sexual assault and excessive drinking. The Senate will hold his confirmation vote on the floor Friday. Attorneys for Brian Coburger are trying to learn how detectives connected DNA evidence on a knife sheath to Coburger. He's accused of killing four University of Idaho students. Defense attorneys want to get the DNA evidence thrown out. They say the genetic investigation process is unconstitutional, and search warrants were tainted by police misconduct. Much of the hearing was held in closed court to prevent the jury pool from being tainted. Hendrick Lamar is bringing SZA out for his Super Bowl halftime show. Hendrick announced on social media on Thursday that SZA will join him on stage as a guest performer. Super Bowl 59 is set for SZA's Super Dome in New Orleans on February 9th. This comes as Hendrick and SZA gear up for their upcoming Grand National Tour, which kicks off in April. I'm Tammy Trujillo. Almost exactly five years since the first case of COVID was confirmed in the US, researchers say the virus could be causing increased cases of chronic fatigue syndrome. Michael Kastner reports. A new study finds that six months or more after a COVID infection, people were seven and a half times more likely to show signs for the syndrome. Some 13 to 58% of people who have suffered from long COVID met the criteria for CFS and researchers think the two illnesses could be triggered by the same factors. The study was published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine. I'm Michael Kastner. College enrollment numbers are up and higher than before the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a national student clearinghouse research center report, total enrollment last fall was up four and a half percent from the year before. That's nearly a half percent higher than in 2019. Undergraduate certificate programs saw some of the biggest increases with an over 28% increase in enrollment from 2019 levels. Spirit Airlines is implementing rules for passengers regarding offensive tattoos or sheer clothing. That story from Ryan Schook. Spirit updated its contract of carriage Wednesday saying passengers will not be allowed to board or will be asked to leave if they have body art that's lewd, obscene, or offensive in nature. That also applies to passengers who are inadequately clothed, which is defined as see-through clothing not adequately covered, exposed breasts, buttocks, or other private parts. The budget airline has previously banned barefoot passengers or offensive clothing. I'm Brian Schook. Nora O'Donnell says anchoring the CBS Evening News has been the honor of a lifetime. Thursday night she anchored her final newscast at the network where she's been since 2019. O'Donnell's final show included a send-off narrated by Oprah Winfrey who said O'Donnell treated each story with grace and compassion.
