A federal judge in Seattle issued a temporary restraining order that prevents President Trump's executive order on birthright citizenship from taking effect. Washington Attorney General Nick Brown led three states in the lawsuit. He says the 14th Amendment to the Constitution was meant to reverse the Dred Scott decision by the U.S. Supreme Court that upheld slavery and denied citizenship to black people. "It was put into effect to reaffirm what it means to be an American and so that's why this case was so important." The judge ruled the lawsuit would likely prevail. Millions of Americans are dealing with another day of frigid winter weather. Those from the Midwest, East Coast and down to the Gulf Coast are dealing with freezing temperatures. Tens of thousands woke up without power on Thursday. When Trump's pick for secretary of defense, Pete Hegseth has advanced through the Senate confirmation. The Senate voted largely along party lines Thursday to advance Hegseth with a final vote of 51-49. Republican senators Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins voted against him, with Murkowski saying she cannot in good conscience support his nomination. iPhones with TikTok installed are listed for thousands of dollars on eBay. Michael Kastner has more. After a brief ban in the U.S., those who deleted or never downloaded TikTok have been left in the dark since it's not available on Apple and Google App stores in the U.S., some iPhone owners who have kept TikTok downloaded are now selling their used or brand new phones. One eBay user in Florida listed an iPhone 15 Pro Max with TikTok for $10,000. Other phones with TikTok installed are listed between $525,000. Costco is rejecting any efforts to reduce diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. A conservative activist group recently sent Costco a proposal, saying they should conduct an evaluation to see if DEI policies pose any risk to the company. I'm Brian Shook. Lawmakers are being warned about the cyber threats from China, which are described as "complex, dynamic, and increasingly interconnected." Adam Myers with the Texas-based cyber security firm CrowdStrike testified this week on Capitol Hill. He warned that China is not our only threat. North Korea, he says, is exploiting the work from home movement to steal company information. More than 100,000 ducks are being euthanized on Long Island due to bird flu. Sarah Lee Kessler reports. The Avian Flu outbreak is a crescent duck farm in Aquabogue, the oldest and last commercial duck farm in Suffolk County. The farm is under quarantine with strict biosecurity measures in place, while the entire flock of more than 100,000 ducks is euthanized. Where you have a flock that's infected, the remedy is to put the entire flock down. Suffolk County Health Commissioner, Gregson Piggett says none of the farm workers exposed are sick at this time, but they are being closely monitored. He says the risk to the public is minimal. I'm Sarah Lee Kessler. Alaska Airlines is making its biggest payout ever to employees in the company's history. Brad Ford has more. Alaska Air Group reported record revenue of over $11 billion in 2024. It was a year ago that a doorplug blew out of a plane leaving Portland. A third of Alaska's fleet was grounded. Following the investigation, the planes got back in the air. Alaska is paying out over $32 million to employees through the company's bonus program. It translates to around six weeks of pay. I'm Brad Ford. Duck Dynasty is coming back this year. A&E announced the docuseries Revival Wednesday. It'll feature Willie and Corey Robertson and their now adult children, who first appeared on the original show in the early 2010s.
