This is your 24/7 News Update, the latest views this hour in just four minutes. President Trump is heading at changes coming to FEMA. Mark Mayfield has details. In an interview Wednesday night on Fox News, Trump said all the agency does is complicate things and that it hasn't done its job over the last four years. Unless you have certain types of leadership, it's really, it gets in the way. Trump said he'd rather see the states take care of their own problems. The added FEMA is going to be a whole big discussion very shortly. I'm Mark Mayfield. All refugee flights into the U.S. have come into a halt after President Trump suspended the State Department's refugee program. Advocacy groups say that leaves tens of thousands of Afghan refugees at risk, including many who have already been vetted. Some refugees who are already en route to the U.S. are now stuck in other countries. Plus, agile fire officials are giving an update on a new fire burning rapidly in Southern California. The Hughes fire was sparked Wednesday morning. It's burned just over 10,000 acres near Castaic north of Los Angeles. Children of divorce are more likely to experience depression and low self-esteem. Now a new study shows they may also have up to a 60% greater chance of having a stroke. The study looked at adults 65 and over, so there's no data about children born later when many attitudes toward divorce changed and it became more commonplace. The link between stroke and divorce was comparable to risk factors like having diabetes. The researchers speculate the increase could be related to increased blood pressure, sleep problems, or chronic stress. That study was published Wednesday in the journal Close One. Netflix subscription prices are going up. The streamer announced Tuesday the standard plan without ads is increasing by $2.50 to $17.99 per month. Its ad supported tier will go up $1.27.99 a month. If you have the premium tier with four simultaneous streams, that's going up $2.24.99 a month. The price hike comes as the company reported nearly 19 million new subscribers in the fourth quarter ending December 31st. I'm Tammy Trujillo. Weather experts say this week's winter storms set new snowfall records for the state of Florida. Brian Schuch has more. National Weather Service Meteorologist Andy Hainer in Tallahassee says they use special boards to collect the snow for measurement. The white color makes it so that if the sun were to strike the board, it wouldn't heat it up and cause the snow to melt. Some volunteers simply stuck a ruler into the ground. The new records will include nearly nine inches recorded in Pensacola and almost 10 inches that fell in nearby Milton, where the previous record of four inches was set in 1954. I'm Brian Schuch. The Justice Department is threatening to prosecute government officials who stand in the way of the federal crackdown on immigration. In a memo on Wednesday, the DOJ outlined President Trump's plans to challenge sanctuary city laws and said those who declined to prosecute immigration cases will be put under investigation, potentially leading to prosecution. Some federal workers are getting bad news. Now that President Trump is back in office, that story from Lisa Taylor. Trump is ordering all federal employees in diversity, equity, and inclusion roles to be placed on leave, more from Kelly O'Donnell. This is a sweeping effort to try to remake how the federal government treats these issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. And so these employees whose work has been primarily focused in these areas across the federal government will be paid for some period of time on administrative leave. But the work they're doing ends. White House press secretary Caroline Levitt called the move a win for Americans, calling DEI programs a scourge on society. I'm Lisa Taylor. During King's sparkling water along with a balanced diet and regular exercise could have an impact on weight. The carbon dioxide in sparkling water can cause a process that boosts how much glucose the body uses, meaning less sugar is left behind as fat. That's according to a study out of Japan.
