The government is to sign off on the next phase of the Limerick To Foynes Road today which includes the Adare bypass.

There is huge desire locally for the project to move forward at speed so that it can be completed in in advance of the Adare Manor Hotel hosting the 2026 Ryder Cup.

The next stage allows Limerick City and County Council to lodge planning permission with an Bord Pleanála and the government will have no control over the board's decision or the objections from the public that might arise.
