Limerick city is set to get a new neighbourhood in the future. 

Funding to devise plans to develop over 100 acres near Colbert Station have been announced.

The city and county councils, the Land Development Agency and CIE will examine how the neighbourhood could look and operate based on international best practice. 

It would include housing, businesses, cultural and play areas along with public services.
