Are Irish people too polite to complain?
You've just had dinner in a restaurant. The food was only luke warm. The waiter comes round and asks "How was everything?" and you say "Everything was lovely, thank you".
You're at the hairdressers. Your hair is a lot shorter than you asked for. The hairdresser holds up the mirror and asks "Do you like it?" and you reply "I love it, thank you".
Do either of these situations sound familiar to you? What is it with the Irish and complaining? Is it something we're genetically incapable of doing? Or, have we moved past the stereotype?
Joe is joined in studio by Executive chef for the Strand Hotel, Tom Flavin, Limerick woman Lorraine O'Connell of First Dates Ireland fame and UL student Rachel Butler to discuss this further..
