Confidence Through Health

Getting Back in the Kitchen with The Fit Foodie, Mareya Ibrahim

Research shows that we eat healthier when we cook at home more often. That's easier said than done for most of us. We live such busy lives and one of the most important pieces of our lives often gets put to the back burner - the quality of what we eat.

In this episode, Mareya Ibrahim brings her passion for food and health to help us with ideas for cooking with and eating nutrient dense foods. She helps us understand the importance of exploring different foods in order to make sure we are consuming enough micronutrients.

We discuss so many pieces of the healthy eating puzzle - what to eat, where to get it from, farming practices, proper storage for extending shelf life, and how to prepare it. Mareya reminds us that cooking a meal at home doesn't always need to be restaurant quality. She also suggests keeping things simple in the kitchen to avoid the urge to hit the drive thru from dinner.

Chef Mareya Ibrahim, THE FIT FOODIE, a nationally recognized food expert, chef, holistic nutrition coach and author, is a strong advocate for clean eating. Check out her book, Eat Like You Give a Fork, her website, and follow her on Instagram for healthy lifestyle tips.
