We often find ourselves trying to replicate the results of experts. We fail to hit the perfect golf shot we saw a professional make or our home-cooked meal turns out nothing like the way they cooked it on the Food Network show. We may not show it externally but our thoughts begin to swirl around in a negative cycle because we could not match the results we saw. In the moment, we forget the years of practice that it took for that expert to be able to accomplish the near perfection we tried to replicate.
While I believe we are all experts in at least one thing, it’s important to remember that in many areas of life we are all simply amateurs.
