Confidence Through Health

Read the Articles not just the Headlines about Health

In this episode, I talk about 2 specific articles I’ve read recently. One article detailed Will Smith’s son, Jaden Smith and the struggles he had with eating. The headline attacked the Vegan diet but the article itself described his lack of eating as the major issue. The other article is a report of a research study done to determine if chocolate milk is better than sports drinks for athlete recovery. There are two issues with this article I discuss: 1) who funded the study and was it biased and 2) it was not an all-encompassing comparison to every recovery product available to athletes.

Media puts together catchy headlines to grab your attention. The danger is many of us are in such a hurry that we never read the article, we just assume the content based on the headline? This practice can create a bias based on no facts at all.
