Hey guys, this is Ricky Stewart. Let me make it very clear. I do not endorse the Raiders review with Blake and the Pork podcast. Go to the Mighty Raiders. Hello and welcome to Raiders review with Blake and the Pork and Matt I'm the Pork. I'm Blake and I'm Matt and we are coming to you. At least one of us is coming to you from the filthiest store in very summer and the thousands of it, the location of which we will never reveal where we lads. Matt and this is the podcast obviously known, formerly known as the third most popular Raiders podcast on the internet. Big week lads, big week. Big week, big week for news. We finally got a win. Thank God. It'd been a long time between drinks. It wasn't easy. Certainly usual heart attack Raiders material, but we got there in the end and look, I was one of the brave and the bold. What did Ricky call the toughest fans? Full confession. I finished work at six o'clock and I went home. I was like, I was really tempted just to stay home and watch the game on TV. But my son convinced me that was important that we went and headed out to the ground. We got to see a victory. Once I was there, I was glad I was there, but it was very cold. I will know all the other season ticket holders that normally sit around around us, including some guys that listen to this podcast, none of them were anywhere to be seen. I will note though that the hardcore listener Veronica was in fact there and she was very much rugged up adorned on the top of her lid with the Raiders by 56 beaties. So shout out to you, Veronica. Quite a few people messaged to say they actually see it at all, and they see Beni at all on the coverage map because a few people actually messaged and tagged that they saw it on channel. There was a few interesting things that you saw in the coverage on the weekend. If you actually go back and watch that footage, it doesn't actually have an actual bonk. It's a simulated bonk, but priceless. It was a magical moment. The young lad, and I'd like him to come forward. I'm assuming he's sub-60. If they can come forward really like, you'll get a Blake in the Pork $10 Land Speed Records man on the match voucher for that effort behind the Viking Hornet as it was blown for simulating we should add using an apparatus mostly associated with car parks in Belconan. It rope your league merch ever wants to expand some of their stuff, and they should definitely start going out and making little apparatus. Who was actually blowing the horn? Because I wasn't the New Zealand High Commissioner. Right, because he only didn't stick around because after that they had the lady with the UIC at the ground with the green face paint. She was she was blowing it every time a trial was scored. Let's go into the news. He blew the horn and left the game. What a blowing. Blue the horn and went inside is more the point. Actually, as a High Commissioner would, you know, actually got wired to die and it didn't get told to freeze. They didn't get fast off. The other 8,000 of us did because it was a hold, Matthew. It was very, very cold. Yeah, so into the news. There's some big, big news. You just come out. It was broken by Danny Weidler on 100% for ball on Monday night, and then subsequently reported by David Polkinhorn and the camera times that Malmaniga broke it. Not broken by David Polkinhorn. No, you're still banned, by the way. Yeah, yeah. Whatever he wants to do, I mean, like, if he can't take fair comment. Well, like was making and me not even making comment. Well, he can block us all he wants. Someone actually someone actually a third party for me that they did. They reached out on on particularly your behalf to to David and quite if there was a possibility that you could be unblocked him and yeah, it's apparently you got more chance of winning a lottery than you. Well, my point of this is I always thought we we got long with friends in that regard. And so when I saw the era so bad as any more, I would send the things saying quick, there's an error. You can fix it. So he'd be doing it before he got embarrassed. It's fine. It's funny. It's funny. But now Mal is coming back to the club. Fantastic news. You know, Mal's been he's left camera and he's moved back to camera. I think a bunch of times over these. I think he's always he's always had a strong, you know, for someone who is a Queensland boy born and bred, you'd always thought they'd move back to Queensland permanently once his time at the Raiders was up. But his links to the club have have remained strong and he's he's been such a passionate supporter of the club. And even though he's had roles for the Titans in recent times, you knew that his heart was always at the Raiders. So it's wonderful that he's returned. The club announced officially today he's returning in a recruitment retention mentoring role, including pathways, especially related to leadership. He's going to be engaging with key stakeholders. And he's just going to be a general brand ambassador for for the club. I think it's just it's just absolutely fantastic. And who better to do it than him as well? Look, I when I've talked about Mal to Ricky, like he almost tears up. He almost goes misty-eyed when he's talking about, I don't think there is a player that Ricky reveres more than Mal Meningas. I cannot imagine him returning in this role doesn't have Ricky's fingerprints all over it. Well, he's the Australian coach. And not only that, there isn't a player in the game that has more gravitas and has had more gravitas since the Mal Meninga. I mean, people talk about Wally Lewis, I guess, would be the other one. Obviously, you know, like every every single person when they talk about Mal, they're either afraid of him or they stand on attention, you know, and just to have him back at the Raiders mentoring these young kids and maybe helping with some recruitment and stuff. Yeah. It's it's it just adds another aspect to a club that's not one of the glamour clubs to help us get in front of some some yeah, it's huge. It is it is it is massive. It is my thing. I think the recruitment and the retention is the thing that really stands out for me. And you know, you you look at like, if you're courting, you know, an Ethan Strange or Chevy Stewart, the club will go to the parents and you know, having Ricky Stewart and Mal Meninga being the people talking to those parents. I mean, you know, the respect they have in the game, that the regard they're held in, you know, it's it's such a good bargaining chip for us. I mean, for a club that traditionally has struggled to attract players, you know, no personal slot on Neil Henry or Matt Elliott or good. If you think they're the ones approaching young kid to come play the Raiders, or you've got Mal Meninga or you've got Ricky Stewart. Yeah, exactly. You got both of them. And they're still close to nothing, you know, Matt Elliott approaching young children. But you know, but it's it's that situation where we were aligned with so many players and probably had the deal over the line. And then someone swoops in, you know, and they would have had, you know, the backing of say extra money or the the glamour club. We're now if if you say yes to Mal Meninga, God, God, God give you strength if you're going to turn around and say no. Yeah. I don't know many people that would have ever done that, you know. Yeah. So one of the questions people ask is will Mal be based in Canberra? He will. He's actually moved back to Canberra just a couple of months ago. But he seems it seems like he's moved back to Canberra. Yeah. A few times because his wife is a cam baron and her parents are the people that own the Canberra Zoo, which is a pretty well known fact. So yeah, this strong family ties to camera. It's great. He's back in Canberra. He's back at the club. It's such a positive story for the club. The next bit of news, Tim. So I was driving to the game on Friday night and I put on the radio and I was listening to Friends of the show, Raiders on Mix team with, you know, Chris Coleman, Adam Jansen, right. And Phil Smalls. And now we're interviewing Don Small. Phil Smalls. He's just small. He's not small. It's Derek Smalls. It's Phil Smalls. Yeah. Hoskings. Hoskings. Yeah. Hoskings. Absolutely. It's hosking. It's not hosking. Phil Smalls. Phil Smalls. Anyway. Phil Smalls. Now we're talking to Don Foneggian and asking about rapper, the possibility of wrap up going round again next year. And it was revealed by Don Foneggian, Jr. That the club definitely wants to wrap up for another year. Ricky Super keen to have him for his leadership and experience as much as, you know, he's been one of our best players in the field this year, undoubtedly. But also, you know, it's a very young back line and they'd like to have him there to mentor and probably sometimes give him a kick up the ass. But so while he has a one year offer on the table at the Raiders and he's previously said he couldn't see himself playing in another NRL club because he'd rather retire than have to play against the Raiders. And now it turns out he's got a two year offer to go overseas. Were you any wise about what club that is? Oh, look, the one's rumored. And I don't know, I don't know. Don didn't certainly didn't say in this interview. But the one's rumored are less cattle ants, which I guess, you know, hey, go over with the Elliott Anthony contract, I guess. And the other one's Hall of C. So Hall of C kind of been in the market for everyone. They're really struggling at the moment in Super League. And so they were the club that were after Elliott Whitehead as well, but Elliott chose to go down the France. And I mean, I imagine if those were the two clubs in question, you imagine Rapper would probably choose to go to the South France with his good mate. But yeah, look, whatever he does, you know, we wish him the best. I'd like to see him stick around another year, but yeah, time will tell. I worry. I worry about him destroying his legacy. And that that's the one reason that you've been talking to. Who have you been talking to? I worry about him destroying his legacy. How's he destroying his legacy? Well, you know, he might just have to come back through rear reserve. Great. That's all I'm saying. You know, and I don't want what I don't want to see him do is finish out his career at the Raiders and reserve. Great. I don't want to see it. And he's going to be what 35, 20, 36, the point is the point is like next year, there's no nit cartridge, right? Yeah, there's no James Shiller. Yeah. We've got Savage on the one wing. Who's who's the other wing? Well, we got we got a hot ball. Maybe around the show. Young Gen Stewart. Jed Stewart's not playing. No, Jed Stewart. Jed Stewart's been pretty decent in Cup. But we're probably, I think, tamale is probably the one that maybe has a shot. He's been incredible for the dragons. But I'm kind of 50, 50, you know, like when we had this conversation on a month and a half ago, I thought, yes, he's got to go around. I could just got to resign him. He's so good. Yeah. But you have to admit, like the last month of football, it hasn't been his best. And if he continues to make that many errors, you just don't want to have a season and a half of that. And I don't know whether that's down to, you know, age old time catching up with him or whether he's always had an error in him, though. He has. But there's been a few games in a row lately. Yeah. Last week, we were talking about errors and I was saying that Sabre Savage had quite a lot of errors in him. I actually then looked at the error charts for the NRL and Savage was on top and but I wasn't far behind him. Yeah. I mean, you go back to that dolphins game wrap and it was unbelievable. And he won us the game. So yeah, I think he probably deserves, you know, another season. But I don't think the writers would be foolish enough to offer him too. No, there's no way. There is no way. No way. There's no way. No. One year is one year is a stretch, but I'd still like to see it happen. But there's no way to if he wants two years, he should go overseas and we wish him all the best. But it could could also be down to a little bit more management, you know, the way that his loads and yeah, you know, I don't think he can play four, five, six, seven weeks a row. That's why going to the wing has probably helped him again. So yeah, you have to think Chevy will probably, you know, maybe step into a spot next year. So maybe fullback or coyote keeps playing the way that he is. That's going to be just a couple of those positions. There are options out there where we can we can bring people. I really, the idea of seeing someone come through at the end of their career and dragging it out where they're nowhere near what they were. And what people remember is that last season, not the greatness. It's like, that's what happened. It happened very recently, didn't it? It did happen very recently. And I think that I think that we don't I mean, Joey Crocker was not the player. He was his last couple of years. I don't think it tarnishes legacy. I think when I think back and remember him, you know, I remember his 300th game. I remember all the good things he did. I don't I'm not a big thing that you can undo 10 years of incredible work with one, you know, season at a lower standard. Yeah, but you don't want the people on the chat sites and the stands having it. And Johnny doesn't care about that. I think he'd be mad not to take the option. You hear it's out there. You don't want someone to do a lap of honor in all their glory. You don't want to see them. He's a professional athlete. If we can get two years in the south of France, go do it honestly. I think you will. I think you will. I think you will. So in that same interview, we don't burn on Raiders on mix. He said that the club was and I think even regardless if rapper stays or goes, but probably as more of a priority, if he does go, they are looking to sign a couple of experienced players. So by that, I took probably guys that fit more into the journeyman sort of, you know, category. I don't think he was talking superstar, but he was talking about at least one sort of outside back. You know, that's probably been around a bit. It has a bit of experience. Yeah. And I think that's right. Because one of the things that worries me, we've gone to this youth policy, which I think is really good. And we've signed a whole lot of young players who I think sticking together, this could turn out really well. But the issue is the issue is that when you get, when the blowtorch goes on the belly, it's your old stages who often know what to do. They've been there calm them down and get them through those situations in that area. And we're seeing if Rabiner goes, Elliot Whitehead goes, we've really got Puffley and Tarponay there and in the old stages. And Jamal has the other senior head. And that's what Don Furna was saying was in terms of the back line. He didn't really talk about the boards, but if Rapper goes, it's really only Jamal. And then your next step down is your Matt Timicos and your set of Chris's and what are they, 25, 26? And one of the things, I mean, and your Hudson Youngs, and look, there was some talk the other day in an article about the Raiders' greater signings. And one of the ones they put in there was C. Sollyola, because it was left field at the time. It's like, what the hell, people have forgotten it, Vincent Helens, people have forgotten him. And he came back and filled that exact role. Yeah, but that's because he wasn't forgotten to Ricky, because Ricky had worked with him at the Roosters. And he knew about the character and the personality and what he would bring. And yeah, he was a brilliant signing. And he really helped turn, you know, was a pretty struggling culture into the great culture that we have that we have these days. But yeah, so Rapper, whatever he does, you know, we wish him all the best. And if you hate Jordan Rapper, no, I know you. NRLW kicks off this weekend. It does. Huge news people. Long time coming, Sunday, but not actually at Gio, the ladies kicking off at Camel Town, 145 p.m. versus West's Tigers. And that's on Channel 9. So you can watch that game, Sonar, you can head out and watch Reserve Grade out at the stadium. And then the main game kicks off at 6.15. It's weird that we're not playing that one in front of Reserve Grade. I mean, it's because they want to televise it. It must be because of that. I don't know. I guess it's what's the West Tigers home game. It's not our home game, the way the draw. But one of the things that Andrew Abdo said this year is that there's going to be a lot more double headers. And because there are more NRLW sides this year, there's more opportunity to have the same two teams like playing in the women's game and in the men's games. Whereas we thought when a team always match up. And look, the good thing about this, I'm genuinely excited about it because it's our team. I'm looking forward to seeing the players get back out there. And I'm looking forward to seeing them improve or where they were last year because they had the classic rate of fadeaway in the second half. They do really well on the first half when they drop away in the second. Well, I'm pretty sure they've spent off-season working on that. And we're going to start seeing some pretty flashy wins from the girls. And I'd like that. I'm really looking forward to it. We could see it. We could see we've managed. We've lost a couple of players, but generally we've kept the squad largely intact from last year. They did very well. Obviously, the fact that there are more teams now has meant the talent has been spread out a bit more. But yes, all the sort of the big names you know and love from last year, including like Salar, Salar and Sahar tomorrow. Yeah, and they're all still there. Yeah, yeah. And Shaq Tungai, our special correspondent out there, she doesn't know. I think she's in it. I like her on the wing. She has a lot of spirit. Yeah. She doesn't know she's our special correspondent yet. Maybe when she listens, she'll know. Maybe. Yeah. What are the news you got? So Chevy Stewart was supposed to play New South Wales Cup on the weekend at a very cold Kipax oval. Saturday afternoon when it was sort of was basically sleeting sideways. It was at three o'clock. I was tempted to attend your time until I headed outside the door and quickly headed turn around and went back inside again. Yeah, the conditions were horrible. Yeah, he was supposed to play, but unfortunately, he's done his ankle and training earlier in the week. So he was getting around in there on Saturday in the mood boot and apparently he's out for three to six weeks. That's no good. Thanks, Sherry. He's sick of a knock. Yeah, he hasn't. Well, I think this is a legit one. He hasn't featured that much in football of late in New South Wales Cup. He had obviously played the under 19th origin game, but since then, he's only played one game a cup. And now he's unlikely to play too many more. This year, another bit of injury news, which is not good. Besides, we heard he had his issues with his back. Now it turns out he's going to have to have some surgery. Yeah, I talked to him before the match and asked him about that. And he was like, it's my back. I've got no idea when I'm back, not to use a saying when he had no idea. He couldn't give me any update on that. He was also really disappointed. But what he was saying was I can't wait to get back on the ground season. So there was no sort of like I'm injured down. I'm weighing up my options about where I go. He was still committed to the rate, that's what I could see. But yeah, what a loss. He was playing such good football. I know this was this start of this year was really his breakout year. We really saw him reach his potential because at the start of the year, the club before the season kicked off. We signed him for a couple years and I was like, maybe want to see how he went before we did that. But obviously, he'd performed really well on the pre-season. He hit the ground running. And I think we've noticed, Matt, that we've kind of missed him a bit of late. The bench has been a bit of an issue for us with the forward rotation and he would be someone who would be ready to have come up for the bench. That was some very interesting technical problem from the West Coast of the United States of America. We're just having a problem with the satellite. We'll get our technicians onto that. Is this cloud strike? Yeah, it's a cloud strike issue. KFC was closed next to land speed on front and on. Was it? Yeah, we can see Matt. We're actually just wondering around just looking just angry and confused. So we've got vision of Matt, but we've got no audio at the second. We're working as hard as we can to get the audio back as quickly as we can, having some technical issues over there. But I know what Matt would have said. He would have said, "Yes, we're really missing Sarmy's solo and we need him back as fast as we possibly can." Well, he's not coming back this year, Tim. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, but it's very disappointing because he's a great big lump of a lad, but he's also not hard on the eyeballs, old Sarmy. I've got to tell you. Very charming, young man. I don't mean I'm very charming indeed. While we're waiting to get Matt back online, it's probably good that we go into the favourites. I've been told offline, this is the favourite segment of the week. There was a poll, the people have spoken. Yeah, the people. Who's going to kick it off, John? You can kick it off. I'm going to kick it off. Look, I've loved this man. We've had a segment on this show about why we love this particular person. Oh, you've stolen mine. But the news, well, that's good. We should agree with the news. There's a certain John F. Apeman is all of a sudden heading back to the Super League at the time where the West Tigers are on their hands and well, they're always on their hands and these. He's heading off to the thing. Once more, not fulfilling a contract. Once more going out, it's very hard. He's coming back for the right price. Well, he's still under contract. So, presumably, he'll expect West Tigers to be chipping in for the remaining two years of his contract. But he's going back to Warrington, effective immediately. Warrington is currently second in the Super League coach by Sam Burgess. Yeah, George Williams and Sam Burgess is the coach doing a great job with it. And it's also the team that Maddie Nicholson, the next season's playing for actually, they ended up winning last Friday. And I think it was with 11 men because they already had a player sent off and then Maddie Nicholson got sent to the sin bin. And then when he came back on the field, he scored the winning try. So, he's doing great things over there. But yeah, obviously, Johnny Bateman, the appeal of going to Warrington and challenging for the title as opposed to hanging around the West Tigers battling out for another wooden spoon has more appeal. But, you know, he's never seen out a contract. So, the wicked contract that he came to, he broke that. We paid a transfer fee. Then he, we let him go. He played two years of the raiders. We let him go with one year to go. So, he got out of broke that contract. Then he went to Wigan and then broke that contract to go to West Tigers. Now he's leaving West Tigers again. I mean, I think you'll only return if they can't get something else happening. And obviously, they're trying to move your mind. Look, he's the ask plan for me this week because, you know, the Oscar Wilde's importance of being honest, to lose one parent could be seen as misfortune to be seen as to his carelessness to three for Johnny Bateman for going to the it's now it's a character flaw. Now, you're just a bloke who we can't depend on. You're a mercenary. He's just called himself a mercenary. And for that, Johnny Bateman, you're my ask man of the week. Matt, who have you got for? He's gone to anything we've lost him. We had him for a second and now the satellite's gone. He's too upset because he loves John Bateman. We all love John Bateman. We all loved him. We all loved him. But he didn't love us. Not the same way as we did him. He didn't return it. He was like, yeah, baby. I love you all. You know, you're great. You're all very special to. Yeah, I don't know what's because he's got an Australian wife now and a new kid with her. So, I don't know whether he's what she's going back to the UK with who knows, you know, his personal business is his personal business. But obviously, yeah, it's, it's weird. It's disappointing. But, you know, I don't think he was ever the same player after 2019. Because if you remember, 2020, he had he started having all those issues with his shoulder. He was having all those shoulder surgeries. And at the time he was agitating for us to really extend his deal and upgrade his deal. And we're not letting him go because we weren't interested in doing that. So, I've always thought that the shoulder was was a bit of an issue. And that's why he's not the same player. And that's probably why we were a bit reluctant to extend him at the time. It's just a pity. He's one of those players that the way he played in 2019, he was the player at ex-factory and can build a team around. And one of the things you do that is for leadership, you know, we're starting to have him as captain last week and he's captain. And then the next week he's going, it's like, you know, well, what are your loyal two, Johnny? What are your loyal two? So he absolutely lifted is a player, though, who you could see him on the field. You could see his character, his personality. He inspired his teammates. He lifted his teammates. And I actually thought that last year for the West Tigers, he was just about the best player. Yeah, obviously he hasn't been as good this year and they've got the challenges. I watched the Tigers play south on the weekend. And yeah, we could talk about that game in our preview to South City. Matt, so who's your last player of the week, Matt? I can speak. Sorry, sorry, guys. Oh, for fuck's sake. He's gone again. He has, he has. He is like, maybe he's the special guest star this week. What do you think? There he is. He's back. I'm here. Yeah, yeah. So who's your last player of the week? Oh, I kind of want to go back a little bit to be honest guys and talk about some of the things that I missed out on. I mean, my ask plan, if I'm going to, we're going to jump in and there's Gordon Talis for the way that he's gone about his media responsibilities over the last month of football. I just can't believe the trash that they're going on when it comes to the state of origin and just the absolute bias nature of these journalists, you know, like it's so obvious. And, you know, you look at who they tip and there's not one Queensland that will ever tip New South Wales and hold one New South Washington that will ever tip Queensland. And then when you pull it back, all the crap we got on about with Cameron Murray running off the bench and Gordon Talis. But it's clickbait. He shouldn't let it upset you. It's like, Corey Parker was going to be my ask plan again this weekend. He's, he's, he's definitely my nomination for ask plan of the year. I think he's going to, I think he's going to take it, take it down. But they just say stuff to create, you know, Fox Force gets him to say outrageous things because that's, that's what generates. I mean, I watched, I watched the Cup game on the weekend and I got to see some of those injuries that we were talking about, obviously for Sami Sola. I wanted to bring up James Shiloh, copped an incredibly shocking knockout. That's the reason why he's not named this week, but it was bad. It was one of those ones that, when you see it, you're really concerned for the player. And when he was walking off field, he stumbled not just for the first few steps when he got up to his feet. He was stumbling even when he got to the chairs. He was, he was knocked into next week. It's funny how I had to choose the changes. I remember when we watched games when I was a kid and someone would come off the field and they'd be like, oh, he's got the wobbly boot on our eyes in Disneyland. But now, you know, especially if you've had something like that happen to you, you know how, yeah, it's awful. Yeah. Shiloh got it really, really, really hard. And I would be concerned for him for the rest of the season and that game was an incredible game you know like obviously there was some shenanigans going on at that same field in local rugby the following day and I was probably seen but one of the things that I noticed in that game is um who's the Martin that plays on the edge who's the young Martin is it? No mate he is already like just he's like a Liam Martin he is and he was playing he was playing in that relation a cup game no but he was like Liam Martin and Angus Creighton he was playing in that cup game like um he was playing against boys yeah and he is a boy he is a boy he was messing with the bears that edge yeah when it was amazing when bedpolic was on the podcast and he was talking about the Martin's you could see he sort of talked about Jordan and you know we all love Jordan and the and the the Scarlet but you could tell no is the one that they've really got big big hopes and big expectations for he's he's you could see it on the weekend like they kept we kept going back to that edge and interestingly we could have and probably I think should have won that game we were on top um you know about 20 minutes to go in the second half and we just made a couple of little errors Adam Cook played and he was on the left-hand side they were going all the time to McChenderson on the right to try and get Noah Martin involved on the on Schiller side so you know you think about he got Martin Schiller and Cottrick it was just a dominant right edge but yeah um Schiller got injured and then Henderson you know he didn't have the best kicking game but it was an interesting we definitely should have won that game and that was top of the table that bears the first and we're second and um but the bears are always right up there though because their priority is cut whereas for other teams you know it's it's more about the process it's less about the result you know and players go in and out and obviously try and win but it's not the number it's not you know my priority no and also the roosters who fund the bears and I don't think I do this is I don't think they do this you sure yeah I think I think like maybe they might have a cut what last year was pretty much their last year um he's Jason Taylor's still the coach though isn't he I think he is I didn't cut away there's nothing like watching a New South Wales Cup game on New South Wales rugby league TV because you get Jordan Martin you know it's Sully with the commentator Sully's the best he choose everyone he's the only person the other guy who got it but it's not everyone uh he's just done an f-boss tap and go yeah yeah Sully he's a camera guy he's he's the best he's the best you know I actually got really emotional watching it um just watching in a suburban Canberra and ground um yeah I look you know I spoke to someone that went out there and uh yeah the conditions were horrible I don't know if you had before I sort of headed out the door thinking I might have I might have had a day and yeah I walked I turned back to the from the car very quickly it was it was a very strong breeze yes terrible and it was about four degrees with Sully mind you we probably still should have gone out there I feel guilty that I didn't go out there I remember being out you know back in the heyday of the raiders up on the the hill lawn all by myself and my mate Boov and it bucketed down one night on us against north Sydney I think it was and uh absolutely bucketed down we were proud to be there it was freezing cold and pissing down raining we were proud to be there that you know the Brett Mullins miracle try you remember how cold it was that night I went to you were there to be where you met I went to a guy I went to a game at uh at Seaford over was versus Elawara Stealers and it was absolutely bucking down it was either 83 or 84 83 I was at that game I went to the bus halfway through the second half because we were getting beaten anyway but it was pissing down rain I just went yeah uh there was a kicking duel pretty much for half the game that would be you'd be too young you'd be too young to remember a good old-fashioned kicking duel I said that's funny we used to love him back in the day uh but yeah that was the smallest attended raiders game I'd been to up until the dragons game um in 2020 I get what was the first game post-covid 2020 the dragons got right yeah where you get where you can hear people individually sledgeing Corey Norman and then he was you hear him then sledgeing the people back it was a great night the smallest attended match I've ever been to at GIO Bruce whatever you care to call it was the snow game now I had to take issue the other day because in the tunnel on the posters they've got all these events you know like the prelim final you know all these things and one of them was the snow game it said we're seven thousand plus fans turned out I'm like dude if there was three thousand in that state you know why surprised you know why though because every season ticket holder even if they don't show up gets gets counted so all the season tickets the same thing on um on Friday night as well all the season tickets um get counted automatically I think as if they're there well maybe but it was that yeah that would they were but that Newcastle one the grandstand was full like undercover that was full and that was before there was a you know the eastern grandstand but apart from that there was nobody out on the cover because it was bucketing down and we were proud to be there and I thought to myself when I also didn't get a kick-backs on Sunday what have I become yeah who am I you're an old man um Matt you've come with your ass about Peru by the way are we spoken about Peru yet no what do you want to say about him well I just how we're letting him we're not pushing him to take the option yet I was curious what people thought because obviously there's a lot of push for that number 14 role and even 13 in uh grade and and poor who played a good game in cup especially the first half you know obviously he's a great attacking player um and I'm just curious because one of the things that Don Fearne spoke about this week is that we're letting Hohepa take his time to make his decision on whether he takes the option or not which I thought was was interesting um you know they've obviously had a really good look at him this year and and we've spoken about it on numerous uh over numerous weeks and and I know um Orcs been calling for him to come in and play 14 and spell starlo at nine and we starlo played a great game again on the weekend but you know he obviously pushes the pass but he's got it's just quick over 10 meters and you know you really want to have him on the field at the end of the first half when some of those before that first rotation and some of the big boys are getting tired but I just I was interesting you know I haven't, Peru definitely has not played nine that much this year at all in Cup um Thanks for a minute a few weeks ago yeah he was in my to be you know like a future leader at the club so I'll obvious you know sort of watch this space stuff actually um but maybe he's gonna team back get back up with his brother and whether he's brothers left box pendreth and gone and yeah so they're both left at the same time so his brother plays uh for new town predominantly for the Jets yeah yeah yeah well I think how happens about it I suspect that his brother they yeah there's been a bit of hysteria this week about he's going and what it means to the club and I can personally understand why people are upset about it because I really don't want him to go I just having talked to him a couple of times I and watched him play I've been so impressed by both the way he goes about his game but also the way he goes about it off the field yeah when people say potential leader no there's no question it's not a potential leader he is a leader yeah like there's no question he is a leader and he's 21 years old and he's already showing all this stuff there's only upside to him as far as I can see um look I hope that the side knows what they're talking about but yes 14 at 14 he can go into hooker but if they if they maybe maybe what sort of maths are leading to you know and and maybe the fact of how to look at them and now they're prepared to let him decide if one's taking this off to maybe for whatever reason unbeknownst to us um yeah they have decided he's he's not he's not the guy you know it happens with a lot of players it's like a clay web last year we all thought clay well web was looking all right in in up and you know we had we knew we needed some edge players and he'd be someone that would stick around but they let him go yeah who was the young center that not the one that went to the dragons or the one that went up north last year we we lost two centers last year and cut yeah um Elijah Anderson yeah so yeah so yeah so there's been there's been a basically what I'm trying to my point is there's been a few players in cup who've looked unbelievable right i just don't think if you if i don't think people really understand the the difference between junior rugby league and being dominant at your age group and then at cup when you're actually playing also against a lot of other junior kids or smaller kids smaller men there's there a lot of other sports they do growth like um they understand growth measurements and you know like certain kids that are dominant in the junior level they're dominant because of their size and you know i guess we we've had a little bit of a brief chat about uh our edge our um bench forwards and you know Trey Mooney was obviously and he's a blessed um genetic football player and if you've ever seen him dance as Elvis he's obviously quite coordinated his way along Anderson but but you know coming up to grade when you're going against this giant man it's a huge step and oh look he was being dominant in use of our cup this year and we haven't really seen him i mean he's he's done all right um and also i think we see with um Trey Mooney where's fans see the stuff when he's got the ball in his hands and we focus more on that then less than the stuff he probably does when he doesn't have the ball i just wonder like they've had a good look at karoo and i'm just curious if if there's something else where they may be letting him have a look at what else is on the market you know like um what was the other fellow that that was the um the number 13 that was from Queensland and we signed him you went on to do dancing with the stars or or the live show like but yeah like like baby was the most sought after 13 you are on the country at one point yeah and then he just he just stopped developing what also what happened with him was he had um a bunch of head knocks yeah and they went back and playing cue-cuff but i don't i don't think he's even doing that anymore i'm not sure um yeah with Herky Bateman's playing he's playing a game like jarrick where it hard raves but he's the size of Sean fenson you know what i mean like he just can't keep doing that and yeah i just i do wonder about the poor thing because you know obviously he's got the ball handling skills and he's been able to carve up cup i just whether that's the role that they see him in first grade because it just seems to he hasn't had his shot and to your point blake he said last week on the podcast the game that he played at the end of last year he was he was the next guy like he was just oh my gosh it looked like he he was the missing link that we didn't have it 13 and now he hasn't had a shot and you would think that all on the coaches it's like it's just a it's a fascinating little thing that we don't know as fan you would think that if there was a wake for him and i thought if he doesn't get picked this week i know not getting picked and this was the after we had um you know Danny Levi not even come on the field and and and our edge our back row i mean our forward bench also be underwhelming i know yeah but i mean look like this is the week yeah i was watching because i was making during the match i was watching and realized you know with about 25 minutes to go that Levi was still sitting there with his with his coat on i thought they're leaving it pretty late for him to come on and watching and someone came and spoke to him at some stage because he was getting up and doing something and he got spoken to it was um one of the other staff members that he sat down with the most despondent look on his face and i thought that was about 20 you know you probably don't know how you want it's about it that's what it looked like and the despondency on his face and he got up a couple of times because you know if someone gets injured he might get there you got to keep warm you know Ricky was really apologetic and he made a point of that saying that the um in the press conference that no i didn't forget it it's just i plan to put him on and then the game changed and the opportunity to put him on disappeared because the way we had to play it at that stage because of certain individuals yeah i think he didn't know i looked i looked at that though did he still get eight interchanges yeah he is six yeah so so Ricky sort of implied that he couldn't put him on because he'd use up all his interchanges but we used six interchanges and so did the Warriors so he wasn't actually he was saying i was saying that the fit of the way the side he needed at that time he obviously looked at the point there's not for Danny Levi the big feature of the game was we started off really really well we should go into the game review in some shape way shape or form we started off the game really well you know Jamal being back there had an instant impact his kicking game was back but when taps and papa came off and the Warriors still had like Adam Feneur Blake and Mitch Barnett were both incredible Mitch Barnett i thought was one of New South Wales best players i didn't mean the top three New South Wales players from origin um but him to come back and then play 70 minutes two days later was unbelievable but anyway when when both um perhaps in uh papa and taps both went off we lost all the ascendancy and they had all the running and they were making such easy meters and we had Ade and Trey Mooney on at the same time and you could see that um Ricky ended up putting tarpany back on he took Ade off and put him on probably quicker than he planned to and that's sort of i guess the change or whatever but you know it's Danny Levi like you said last week Danny Levi's not an impact player so he's never really a player to bring off the bench anyway no i mean you bring him on to spell of styling if he's too tight in defense Levi he's there for his his service i guess voice yeah he's serviced his defense and his voice his defense has been shown up in a couple of games one-on-one there was one awful tackle against Newcastle i think it was at the week before when he was fresh and he just arm grabbed um and styling look if starting to play 80 minutes then you've got to have poor on the bench you know because he can come in and spell in the middle and then give style of arrest as well but i don't know i was also really shocked to see this week and maybe it'll change before the game but there's maybe that um that jersey number is always going to be um hoppers but i i'd love to see Mooney start i don't know if Mooney has the minutes in it minutes in him to start just yet he's playing bigger minutes than mariata but mariata started for us in the past and um it was always goula and then mariata i think started one game but i i i was shocked when i i think Mooney might start this might be the week that he could start um you know i maybe he's written off goula maybe goula goula was the one who was starting all year when apple was coming off the bench i think goula's written maybe that i think goula and you watched you watched carp he wasn't how did how did he go his stats are awful yeah he the game you know it's one of those things the game you could go away from you and especially in cup because they often try and attack from all over the park so you know we had cotrych shiller hopperwadze all you know trucking up those first three people hunts but he didn't stand there and he had a couple of mistakes in him you know he can kind of get lost now and then in and get in the way of plays and we've seen that in in grade for a long time so i'm sure if goula was was available he'd start this weekend and pupperwad come off the bench because that's when we were most you know we can't we can't have that impact by what happened on the weekend so i think pupperwadze might not start the drop offs huge oh it was it was drastic you know unless you know stewards usually not one to change too quickly he usually puts a rod up him so maybe he's told them this week is your week and if you don't then you'll get dropped it i mean there's no way both those guys would would be in the side this week if the sarmi saw they was fit with no way yeah look and that's that's what i was going to say what we're seeing here is not just sarmi saw over and big reds the other one was for it being out we have those two people on the bench all of a sudden you're wondering you know which one of those is still making the side you know yeah um with it within that spot and you know we're we're lacking that and so we're into the depth is what we're talking about but look i've got much bigger wraps on ada mariota and tray moody than their performances showed i really do i've got much bigger apps on them i think they're capable of much better than they did and we've seen them be much capable and much better than they they did on the weekend i mean ada ada is still very young but he's one of the biggest disappointments i think of this year because at the start at the end of last year that gave me it's a night i thought this is the year he's going to go take his game to another level and he's actually regressed that's what i was just going to talk about it like damn against the night it was unbelievable yeah but we just had to play he's had to play a bit on the edge he's been moved around and he's still very young you know as as Tim said before in the show you look at taps at um that same age well he wasn't the complete he wasn't a complete player that he is now so he's still i certainly don't write him off i don't give up on him but you know yeah he needs to work and look and he's he's 22 and he got rookie of the year last year the meaning of metal and you know and trays 22 as well and so they're keeps in those positions they're close yeah they're both keep starters at the club and you can tell that the club has prioritized that we've just recited them you know and there's a lot of people going after moonie i think i think i wouldn't be surprised if gawd was gone at the end of the year he's i am almost certain of it yeah hundred percent almost uh and now i talk about that what about vos like what's what's going on there man like yeah well this is his last week of suspension this week um for that but then he's got to come back through cup and is he gonna do another headbutt is he gonna throw another punch i mean what's going on with vos you wouldn't you'd like to think you wouldn't but you would have thought that he had the brains not to do it then when he's been out all season yeah well he's placed so little football coming off as a suspension coming in then comes back then gets injured he comes back in and has a brain experience he's a frustrated he's a frustrated player i think for a whole bunch of things one was a suspension then was the injury then i wonder you know is he unhappy that they signed morgan spitties to play 13 the role that we kind of thought was his um he's a frustrated player don't get suspended and you can make it back yours you know that that's that's the way he likes doing it and the other thing is he's he's not 22 anymore you know he should be he should be leaving you look at jay tarpany he was a bit of a hothead when he was younger and he's totally moved on from that um he's he's in the age now where you know he's had a kid he should be mature now you know but he's yeah he's still a hot one he said now let's look at the size of this weekend against our Sydney 615 this Sunday night so yeah we're gonna review the game oh yeah the man the match man the match um i thought it was a damnit we haven't even reviewed the game you two lads jeez we've talked about it constantly uh look the review of the man of the match oh sorry the man of the match it's one of two players it's tarks because when he came back on he stabilized things was he perfect nobody had great meters yeah great tackles he was good or phogany because the class he instant and class in control and calm the instantly brought back to the side was no trouble from space i think jamaal you know was was huge and he was fantastic and his kicking game was was great uh he gave uh matt's man delan what needs a lezniak uh nightmares but yeah he had a shocker which was good to see from once he normally kills it's good to see him actually have a shock on it that he did that what knows lezniak dropped was literally right in front of my plastic chair that thing came down like a corkscrew it didn't just come down like a torpedo it came like a corkscrew until that was right there it's all adjusted for one of them beautifully and then it suddenly swung back and he got back but he he did everything he could do it was the best damn bomb i've ever seen another thing i want to say about the game um is morgan speedies we called for him to lift i thought he was a lot better he ran with a lot more intensity he actually looked like scoring a couple of times uh he played a lot less minutes too did you notice that thank you well but because not well because matt elliot i'm matt elliot and um elliot whitehead you know it's playing 13 so so elliot went off initially for husking who husking was great um then he came back on the third plate 13 for smoothies but then he looked pretty gassed again i got to say these are things when you're at the ground you'd notice more like at the ground you see some you miss a lot but then you don't see a lot of things off the ball and then it looked pretty gassed to see the other things i noticed off the ball was um defensively as an edge matt timiko and saber savage worry me um the communication between the two doesn't look to be great and they sort of look at each other and how the edge should never have run out for that ball he should never have run out but that was that wasn't the end of the game they look and they give each other sort of very worried um looks the whole time it was great that savage got the redemption and and put the ball down and got that trying he didn't actually have an error in the game at all um but i'll tell you the other thing uh straight after he scores the error running out of the line was possibly error in mind while when i'm in a handling area it stopped starting uh one thing i did notice as well at the ground was after he scored that try the worries were always going to go for the short kick off and hey timiko didn't seem to be ready for it at all oh oh yeah i can test it and they should be worried all uncontested and then after um for noob like crashed over and scored the try tarpony and rapping it absolutely gave it to savage and timiko they were going off their heads i mean you've got to do wasking didn't jump but yeah i thought it was husking who didn't get to the ball but he should be the blocker for somebody else to catch and that that could actually be on coaching because that's not mean that what should be ingrained but they just switched off and i mean that was one of the concerns i had at the beginning of the year with savages ability to switch off we've seen it with a couple of kicks going over his head this year i mean it can't be easy switching from the left to the right in attack and it can't and it has to be even harder in defense because who's your trigger so it's weird but why are they done it why why have they why have they put potentially two you think it the of sam christen rappa being good defenders and timiko and savage being not as good and now they've put those got two guys together and you look at all the tries were on their edge the k-paw one first yeah then that bar that one except for the rts one but all the in a second half all the tries were basically one way or another through them but when they come up we're trying to get savage on the side of a field that though it is playing on because focus is a bit more of a ball distributor where you can strange even strange can show and go with huts and young on the left and then maybe you know rappa is not the guy who's going to finish a slick move on the outside you know rappa is the one coming into the rock and taking a hit up where you want to have savage on his wing the whole time you can see they tried to switch a few times early in the sets to get savage on the outside they've been trying to do it for about uh three months unsuccessfully with seven christ they did earlier in the season they could get they did a short side players but now i think they realized that k-o-weeks has got a good left to right path so when he comes out the back you've got savage you got general phogody with the ball either going to zakosking at the front or at the back to kaya weeks and then you've got three of them better ball handlers in the club you've got kaya phogody and made it to mocho you know and both of them can run a place and pass or go where it's a little more disjointed on the left hand side they're not straight ball runners you know i mean like yeah i know i said so chris has got a good quick shuffle but it's just it's you know it's it's a very different situation and i mean one of the things i did want to say is how good was it to see huts and young get a line and general phogody hit him like yeah it was that was a beautiful that was that was right in front of me that was great um the other thing a k-o was good again and um it was interesting you know we talked about that savage try when he did the kick me and my mate were there again they got to go for the field goal they got to go for the field goal and it looked like jamal was set up for the field goal yeah and then kaya was a trick player and then yeah then strangers passing the kaya and kaya's putting the kick and they've scored it was brilliant yeah they knew it but one thing one thing we're saying before what really worries me here is i don't think there's a side in the competition you are more happy to contest a short dropout with or a short kickoff within the raiders it's like there is no i have no confidence that we won't regather we're so we're forced to line dropout i have no confidence whatsoever we'll get i reckon at best our stats for reclaiming it from the short dropouts is 50% and for short kickoffs i would say our chances of getting it are no better than 50% if i'm the opposing team i'm relishing that and practicing for it we have got to be doing more work on those situations because they are constant draft games they're constant and it's clear there is no freaking plan on how to do it i'd prefer to be giving away penalties at that stage in a sense of having a set up plan and contesting it they're not contesting it like that was because that was at that moment they'd scored the try they got six in front they should have been icing the game but instead immediately the warriors took back the ascendancy with afb who knew exactly what he had to do smashing over the point in that line and if it wasn't for channel harris devita having the worst kick i saw day fernamiss once from right in front and hit the post and advanced larry daily did i think for australia once but to have missed from where he was was harder than getting it larry daily in new south wild state of origin and he's a really good kid yeah i really saw a lot of his player i felt he he was straight for him for the interview after the match and he just basically head off the field yeah so he he was off the tunnel for like immediately at full-time and then he actually saw that charlotte had that footage from that camera in the dressing room and that's why he's there by himself because he's already left for everyone else's where everyone else still have a help i mean before i knew that i i knew find new friends of his family um i actually wanted us to sign him a couple of years ago i would have spoken about it with you guys i think he's a really good player i mean obviously i think marty martin is is the runner the guy running the club at the moment and they're missing johnson but i think johnson's don't along gone and then you got met kafu i think it's probably a good plan to sign if you're looking for a five-eight but that to me that game on the weekend i mean to your point with the drop off drop outs um pork i hate him i can't i can't believe we brought in a rule to punish shitty pizza picking in the game seven tackle no we brought in the seven tackle set to punish just the boot try and encourage short you know like attacking kicks and now we're punishing short attacking kicks by not by not penalizing yeah i know it's just it's i don't know some of the rules for me and but i'll tell you what if i if i if i could kick a kick off like who kicked that was it we're telling the liz the lizney act that did that kick off that the one that they got killed yes killed i think it was nice if you if you if you can kick like that wouldn't you do every kick off like that yeah it killed you remember my pat riches for west time as we're doing yeah he was crazy where they're absolutely spiraling up like a thing it's like why wouldn't you do everyone the ball is you know in tainously in contest that there's a game where the raiders had that must have been like 24 day in order he came back from England and the raiders just had the absolute yips and it's it's like the down one day so let's yeah once you drop one you just like you're shot yeah yeah you got nothing look look but in that match and we were talking about it before there was two moments in it where in the first half one in the first half one the second half well we made clear breaks the one in the second half i think the first half was very costly because just for a half time and tommy starly we're on halfway off the kickoff like on the first tackle and if he takes the tackle at that stage rather than trying to get it away he takes it the warriors are still coming back they are a mile coming back there's a short line and all our players are up there if he plays the ball we had them stripped we had them ripped to pieces and instead the ball comes loose they score and it's 14-6 and it was a different so and then in the second half we made another fantastic break and then instead of holding the ball when we got caught we pushed a pass and completely blew it strange pass the starting a starling job but that'll be better for it it's one of the things a star starlow is you know if you're in and out of a starting side and then suddenly you find yourself 30 minutes in make my line break you're not comfortable because it's you haven't been playing you know big minutes and he'll be better for it the same is strange strange strange made a lot of line breaks this year and you see when he makes them he kind of is a bit of a gear in the headlights he kind of pops up and he's looking around he doesn't know whether to go you know kaya weeks and he makes a line break just has a crack yeah and strange has probably made a lot more but you can just see he's you still thinking should i pass should i run should i bring someone in you know why he lost the ball but because he had it out in two hands like that there was a certain point where he didn't tuck it under the wing and you know it doesn't get it's also one of the reasons that authentic breaks too though it's because he runs with the ball in two hands so you know he he gets the defense second guessing but i mean we've been speaking quite a bit about the game but i actually think that he's probably my man of the match i just don't think you know he sets up two tries he's kicking is unbelievable they're under pressure the entire game because of him you know it's and it's oh yeah it's taps and failure you know like basically obviously we're fighting he plays and we haven't won a game at home since five video was injured no and you know we've now won four games at home i guess the bottom four sides yeah he'll tell me that the thing about foggy as well is that we scored three tries and they're all converted yeah the the warrior scored four tries they converted one and you know and that's where the game is won he wins it because he gets his kicks did you hear him talk in this week about what he's been doing and he's injured no kicking tell us so so is that cost is that costing came out and said he was so glad to have foggy um in the rehabilitation group when he was out because he had a mate because usually when you get like those long-term injuries it's probably the loneliest place for like the league player because they're so used to being in a team environment and then suddenly they're thrown into a different schedule but he had his mate foggy and foggy came and told the boys that all he's been doing is working on his kicking game because obviously he had a vice sitter or a pickter or whatever it was that um now he's just been focusing a hundred percent on what can i get better at in the next three months and you saw it i mean he's he's kicking percentage is better than probably any one in the competition at the moment and then he's leaving the chase again if he can kick like that in like we're gonna we're gonna be in just about every game till the end of the year and yeah that's i mean that gives us a shot i don't know whether you guys have or the listeners they have done the latter predicted or we need you've done it again have you done it again oh my they're no more fives i don't know what to do with the time i had as look for part of the last week i had as winning no games so we've really really want to head and we're a bit of a leaner really interestingly enough um i also said we're not going to start favorites in um any other game for the rest of the year we are now the favorites against out city well that's yeah because i was still trying to figure out why that is because they won six their last seven yeah but did you watch them against the west tigers like they scored a lot of points but the west tigers um absolute we're in the game they're into the game and then they absolutely just imploded and set the ball and gave them tries at every opportunity even before um sees it got seen beneath that west tiger side to cup side mate it's the tiger sides i know they beat us so if they're any tigers fans listen to this which i'm sure it's not but that's the size they try down on the weekend well and the tiger side that they're pushing out this week getting into the warriors the entire spine could be under the age of 20 like it's just they're just burning it up but um you're about to read the team list where you're tim yeah let's see the team list higher weeks at one we've got wrap and are on one wing we've got savage on the other i agree i think we should get savage back with chris i think it works better um we've got timiko and chris in the senses we've got strange and foggy in the halves in the forwards it's properly in tarpon a around tom's starling hudson young and early at whitehead in the second row morgan smithy's at lock on the bench is lee by island trey moonie at a mariota and zach hosking making up 17 so it's unchanged side from last week although i'm sure it's so lonely it's so lonely even rick and ready i make you better get played this week i tried to get i tried to get tim to um record a version of uh the super minds don't you forget about me with the lyrics change to danny lee by but he said he couldn't do it i just can't stand simply oh there's an interesting um danny lee by stat um i saw during the week actually matt um there's only one player currently in the rl that's played in more games without a final appearance than than danny lee by do you know it is how did swan look brooks oh yeah no and look brooks would probably take finals this year but um perold danny lee by the final last year nah no it was wilford did he play the final no he was playing yourself i was coming remember he broke his drawing there he was playing cup that's right never played he's never played in the finals and he's played a lot of games well he's probably one of the few guys that's still getting around from those nights teams they've got three yeah yeah that he went to a bronco side that like he he's he's really picked he was definitely playing good enough to be in our final side last year he was the best player on the park in parts the end of last year he was he's after lee brooks and if he doesn't play finals this year he'll have the longest route just saying no i wouldn't do it so there is an announcement there is an announcement on lee by oland it's no longer a hotel we're now it's timeshare because we're having to have a consolidate no one's moving in so if you know anyone that wants to buy a timeshare yeah good luck okay so they've got young jai grey at fallback because the thrill mitchell still injured hey gimme looks at um i'm just looking at a picture now in the greenhouse of jai grey my god he looks like chevy steward he's like chevy steward with headgear except i think he's even a little bit smaller he does he does look a lot like him he looks a lot like he's a lot smaller they were he was interviewed on abc before the raiders match on the weekend he was quite an intelligent young man so he quite well spoken came through the Brisbane system well i think he's it how old is he he's a little bit older than chevy so he looks at that 12 but he's actually um he's uh 20 all right so birthplace in Liverpool but i know and uh but any day booed for the south in rabbit-hose but they took him out of the bronco system that's where he was up at the bronco system when he started but alex johnson is on one wing they got jake of gaga on the other wing who we first saw up close at uh gift accident we blacko yeah um michael chikam x radar there in number four tarnay mill at number three he of the brain explosions um in the halves they've of course got this the hoe coming of jackie whiten um and look this is not a time to do jackie whiten i mean it's going to happen i personally i won't be i won't be encouraged they don't encourage it but people will i guarantee i guarantee i'm coming i'm encouraging it go in screw it go in i just tell him i know he's not doing any media he's coming to camera you went to a club that's you know i'm doing at the end of the day you know he turned down the richest um contract the club's ever offered you know history he turned it down to go play sentence whenever i'm watching you still under less money in the sentence in the sentence but where's he playing oh he's not playing in the sentence he's playing five eight he quotes their bloody anyway but whenever i'm watching him i'm still watching our jack i still want the best room he wasn't he didn't have a he didn't have a great game against i know they scored a lot of points i didn't think he was one of the standouts all right i'll let him to i'll let him to and i've been telling people to watch you since he came through you know 12 years or whatever it was you're lashing out of anger you're lashing out of anger no no i'm always angry we know that by now i hadn't heard jack was my boy right yeah new stuff that was best state of origin played for the last decade okay he was the best said come on he's the best that i'm talking to the pork here uh let's not bring race and ethnicity even just because he's that if this isn't the reason he's an arsehole he's just an arsehole i love chorice i love chorice i'm spent a lot of time there it's one of the most beautiful places in the planet um pork here's the question next year you could bring back jack for two years and jack this year like quality jack or keep dr strange what are you doing why would you put me on the spot like that now i'm keeping up with that today and i think that i'd go back going but i still love Jack i think Jack going uh was was the best thing for us and look we ripped the band aid off and you know having him go around for a couple more years we wouldn't have sort of fast tracked the development of these young guys we wouldn't have started a new era that new era that i'm really excited about so well he's an easy good player but he's never he's a good player but he's never he's never i watched him against uh west tigers on the weekend like i said and he's he did most of that kicking in his kicking was pretty ordinary and look he is he is a seven to eight hundred thousand dollar player he's not a one point two million dollar player Nathan claira hundred point two million dollar player i tell you what we're going to see this one again if you're still at our club everything would be about jack and not because of him it's not his fault it's just the media and this yeah he was he was you know what i mean like right now yeah he was drawing it all about me he was stopping in jamal actually getting control of the team so exactly we know what that was and he's partnering cody walk but i'll tell you what jack's gonna be doing this week this sunday evening without a shadow of doubt he's gonna be trying to kill doctor strange yeah he will be trying to iron out doctor strange and make sure that doctor strange understand who the big dog is on the field and you know you got to bring it on Nathan's got to be ready for that and got to be got to have a plan for that because that's where it's going to be he will try as jack will try and do and put these big hits on and he's going to try and hit the players that make the biggest impact so he will try and hit tarpanae he will try and hit timiko he will try and hit strange he will try and hit rarpana he will try and hit all these people to get the moral and hudson young he's going to try and hit those players to give his side the moral ascendancy you probably going to hit probably more of the players on our right hand side if he's defending them he'll take your yeah i agree but he'll take the opportunity well that's why strange i think we'll intersect with him no jamao oh well anyway they're mates as we saw on the thing cody walker at seven for them in the first half it's moali i believe baby moali yeah is the way you say it keppy shawn keppy ex of fantastic player from manly seagull here's show keppy is one of the biggest plotters i reckon he's like ryan sutton league right so get your money on shawn keppy to score a try this weekend he is just he is absolute like smock what i've said all year if you look at the south's indie team they are they are a lesson in how to not manage your solo cap and signing jack whitein was not what they needed to do i mean obviously they're going better now um but they got rid of timitri but you can't have too many stars if you've got too many guys on too much money it you end up with just too many journeymen and that half that team is journeymen mm-hmm yeah well they've ripped us apart before they've got uh damey cooking between them who's starting to hit a purple patch of form jake up host at 11 talus duncan at 12 and then the man we actually were interested in although reedy gave us some hope he was never coming kian kolama tangi who i believe is just brilliant player he's really he's really gone well um moving to 13 hasn't he like he was great on the end of zorless is 14 i'm not sold on that but he's in and around so leaver ville is at 15 um thomas bergess at 16 is doing well and of course there's lem la blank is in the 17 he sees i think he's played three games he's played three games he's a reserved lock you know out of the north devils he's played yeah he's played three three games uh he looks like a winner of a dude so there's a you're other player to get money on score a try because lem la blank i want to make fun of him not going to um yeah look they they've got bits and pieces they're they're injured but you're right they've had some form coming into this match i reckon you're right blake they got away with it last weekend because the west tiger was right in it till they fell out of that game they were right in it and and they showed how you can be cut up my issue is we decided to show sites how to cut up you know we decided it's going to take advantage of what the west tigers just showed us i'm and i was more afraid of the south sydney side because of their record the one six of the last seven but after you read out that team list there's no reason for us to be afraid this weekend they're due for a loss they're due for a loss and it's week and yeah it is and um our runs begun it began last week the unstoppable there you go we did well they had Cameron Cameron Murray's obviously um suspended yeah that's that's a good Murray gyro missing camel graham obviously who's been basically all year yeah richie kenna richie kenna that's a massive that that's a massive that Matt can i ask you a question if we could sign an experience outside back to join the club next year and you can choose between richard kenna and tanae millen which one are you picking tanae millen i'm really no you'll just say the same person diamonds in amongst these rocks i tried go go outside the box and sign like some rugby player that you know like go and get vadavalo or something like that oh goodness graciously look before you go on with any more ludicrous suggestions then matt um i want to go to the extended bench who's on the extended bench right so for the raiders we got adam cookey cookey's back in the 18 we got albert hoppuato in the 19 we got sinus the sange in the 20 zakwalfa in the 21 and emirang guler in the 22 for all of that so peric peric can't even make this then bench so you can't even you can't even one of those we can't have a pork smoky there's no smoky off that bench there's not one player there that's knock on the door down on that matt if there was a pork smoky it would be emirator drop in parachute in pork smoky but the extended bench for south senior abadoes is uh deeontalpa fleture myers isak tupa tupa tomson shark jack mitchell and brock grey i just i was like johnson's a good player but he is but what was the second jack mitchell has something in him but not much thanks brother what was the second name you said fleture myers never that's not a real person he's a center he's a jane fleture myers is no it's a men's west shop from the 19 videos he's 21 comes from new castle new south wales uh duney club was the warthard mainbound cheats and this my friends i believe is his day boo if he gets on the field yeah my hope for this game is you know is jack gets caught up in the occasion and he ends up trying to close it out in the fall yeah he tries he tries too hard and then he kicks out in the fall he passes over the sideline it's going to be a repeat of um chariot breakers 300th where he just tried to do everything and it just just turned to crap yeah all of them could be the other one where he'll of a sudden just knows exactly what to do and impose on it if there is a side if there is a side that can run a player out of form into form or allow a player to showcase their best form it is against the camperators that we know we know you know cana ponger you're out of form play the camperators you're back jason town will allow out of form play the camperators you look like a world leader you know thank you you want your queensland jumper play the camperators good position that's right yeah but that's that's that's actually the rules in there but you know for i think it comes down to how not how they play it comes down to how we play so it's very necessary look at who's gonna lift whoo and i think we've covered this already because it really is try and out of mariata try 100 cent aramadi over they have to they have to really not make us feel the difference of taps and papa going off the field they have to man up in those spots and really mean that that that they don't have to be as good as those guys they just have to not have us fall off a cliff like i did last week and and that's i look i still think the best thing is the papa comes off the bench and moony has made said moony i agree yeah i agree and and if we don't have the minutes like a good looking givers and you know obviously he's he's not even knocking the door down in cut so i'd like to see moony start and just and even just give him 20 minutes and then yeah the fact the fact that Elliot can play in the middle now and he is spelling hosking there might be an opportunity to bring hosking on early take Elliot off bring it i think maybe that through Ricky's rotation off a little bit as well because he's now got he's going to edge forward on his bench that he's he's going to 100 percent spelt Elliot but then Elliot comes back on so there's got to be a way that they can figure that out actually and i just you can't have um you can't have that drop off this weekend although if you look at their bench their bench isn't great so we don't want to know that their pack is not Adam Finn and Blake and Mitch Barnett they still got Tom Burgess coming off the bench and that's that's something he he plays good football um so yeah he's really good but um they just got to go back to the no-era football that's first 20 minutes we played last week when the kicking was good where the ball control was good where the tackling was good and then we get into a position where we can play our game where jamais running across and hitting you know huddle on a good line we looked like will feed us we looked as good we looked precise and we looked deadly at that point he had options when he hit Hudson it wasn't because Hudson was in such a magical spot he was it was because he could have hit um Timoco he could have hit Savage you know at the site like and i believe there was a forward trailing in behind him as well like he had options there on there there on the right so it would have been it would have been said Chris and we're up and oh yeah he said good day and rub he had he had people he could hit so it was it was so it was so deadly we just have to play that game that we can play and just let Jamal run us around get that big kicking game and you know make sure we make our tackles don't slacken off those areas i don't think it'll be i don't think it'll be you're right i don't think the conditions are going to make it uh 42 to 36 game it's sunday night it's going to be cold it's going to be wet it's going to be jury it's going to be slippery you know i mean it's a game to for us to really grind uh and put it is put this and put the pressure on them it's a contrasting it's a contrasting game they're not a grinding team they're a you will score 40 you score 30 so it's it's going to be fascinating to see whether we can keep up and where i think a lot of it might even come down to the way that the ruck is interpreted yeah you know they're gonna want to play fast where you're gonna want to play slow um or slower than them and you know i don't know who the ref is you know we should we should why why rame who the jesus christ he's good he's good he's a good up and coming wrath he's got big wraps on him and he's he's pretty good at controlling game might take crap from people sinned in some form he's the video refs we don't know so no i can't see that one there look but when you're talking about grinding there has been something that has made a bit mad and you might say it grinds my gears you know what really grinds my gears you know what grinds my gears petrol prices yeah that that really does grind my gears it really actually i've actually gone down a little bit lately um whole people are indicating it roundabouts uh we had that one that that's i'm not going issue um pull creepy crawly to see your own new gears sometimes sometimes oh for fuck's sake sometimes we cross my gears and we've been over it let's not get back into blowing leads and let's not waste good breaks like we do it grinds my gears we're already set up but i just want to make it very clear it grinds my gears all right stop doing it my gears what mark carol's go commentary and you should have to ask cut come on i'll tell you yeah i thought you got a comment on his uh his fashion i reckon he's quite well done oh yeah that's not a real elegant side of said he's very good look but amongst everything you know that we got across the line there are in fact reasons to be cheerful and we've got to have reasons to be cheerful i mean number one on the list is Jamal Fogarty Jamal's back uh hoss goes back mails back everyone's back everything's Jack's back for this week for this week for this week yeah he's he's got a bad back uh for this week everyone's back it's a great week to be back it is it's reasonably cheerful we got another home game it's the start of our run it's the start of our run to that top four position i still maintain where you're gonna get to and then you'll also you'll all see you'll know the pork was right where the hell is that season we have to be the season we have to be 40 weeks long for us to get back up into the top four yeah we'll do it because we're playing lots of the sides that we're going to be competing with for that spot unfortunately one of them's the roosters in the last rounder wave which is the way they're playing you know but if you're going to do it that's how you do it isn't it interesting start on the roosters um of the last 20 games that played against uh the Panthers and the storm they've won one of those games yeah so we're thinking of the most one of the heavyweights but those two teams really have the wood on them and and the storm just the juggernaut the unrelenting juggernaut you look at those players you know Tim your man grandadisson the exceptional on the wing uh apparently his knee isn't completely busted either grandadisson yeah no he's uh he won't be back this weekend but it's not like there's no reconstruction it's just a bad bit of bruising so they even get lucky in those things i thought oh my god there's his season gone that's that's a reconstruction right there but no we look more impressive against the storm than the roosters did but you know the roosters are not uh they're not pretend that they're a really good side they just obviously got that weird anomaly anomaly but i don't know like i've gone to the line of predicted we actually play the dragons in the last round we play the roosters we play penry we play manly we have some hard games but they're all above us so we don't lose their four-point game so it's these top four are still possible Matthew matt it is oh you can call me Matthew now and it depends if i'm in a good mood or a bad mood but the point i'm trying to make is this game we have to win we can't keep losing to games like Newcastle or you know the tigers like if we lose this game honestly you can probably write the season off because i think we need to get to 30 points right now we're sitting on 22 so we need to win at least four of our next six some are saying five um this game is pivotal and it's going to show the players all know that so we're going to see as soon as our bench rotation come on they'll show us whether whether they're upward or not yeah i don't think there's any way in the world you're going to get top four without 32 points right so we've got to win five they're remaining six i don't think he's talking about top four i think he's talking about just making the finals man i think i think i think yeah i think you're like go over this this top four um i will never let go of it no because this is one year you'll be right you're saying i told you guys i told you i said we were gonna finish on top four if you say it every year and then one year it actually happens it doesn't mean that you're right so you're just accusing me of being a monkeys and typewriters man is there well pretty much uh we do have merchandise um so i want a couple of um raiders by 56 uh beanies like i said sort of modeling hers looked fantastic yeah i'm on tv on uh shout out to berky who who bought one and um yeah Andrew Perryman as well thanks thanks for the support guys and uh we've still got those those beanies it's still available still got just a few left now landspeed.com.au rugbyleaguemerch.com is the place to go for all the shirts uh last week we were introducing our new shirt and we managed to stuff up the name about four times so it's it's we did that stuff up again that wasn't us that wasn't us that wasn't us i think i said that's not us but that that wasn't us and and we're trying to get one to riki um i'll get one i'll get one get him one get him to wear the press conference yeah get his point to it that was nice i'm not sure he's allowed to wear the press conference but i'll get him a t-shirt that's not a nice one um and of course there's that if you hate jordan rarpener uh i hate you which is our best silly t-shirt of all time um get in there and get one because that's true it's true if they hate jordan all proceeds obviously all proceeds go to family leg is it a charity or country i don't know family leg family leg i'm also um on levi olland we're also talking to um levi air which is uh airline from levi olland about some flight of it's a los bagas baby and uh they'll be stopping at my guest house so if anyone wants to fly levi air you can rent them or you cash yes i don't know that i don't know about levi levi air they sometimes they don't get off the runway they get just stranded on the tarmac they cancel cancel flights um subscribe to the show whatever platform you're listening to itunes you know apple spotify um leaves are raining if you can it's much appreciated coming up tim what have we got after this week well after this week we've gotten such a great array of matches you know you like it's the best matches as you know we've got a game at belmore so we're going to be potentially puppers three hundredth unless um he's rested which he may still be hopefully he's not we may still be and if you want to buy a ticket to that belmore game um you can't because it's already sold out sold out yeah yeah it's sold out so we got them away then we've got home on saturday the 10th of august so only a six day turnaround we've got the manly ringer seagulls who notably have found some really good form with turbo looking really good um and then then we go away saturday the 17th of august 530 match up in north queensland against the resurgent cowboys come home against some easy beat side call the panthers um on saturday 24th of august then up to sydney sunday first september round 26 against the roosters four a five p.m. on the sunday then finishing off the season not interestingly at wollongong but at cogra um against the dragon again 27 on it is cogra it is cogra oval it's not cogra it's cogra pogra pogra pogra pogra pogra pogra pogra pogra pogra pogra pogra pogra pogra pogra it's okay to make fun of me when i'm wrong all right i'm this one i'm bro is it cambra or cambara we have mangled it to cambra we have mangled samanaka right but it is actually cogra yeah well mangled it's it's cogra all right whatever but i tell you about the time i was at cogra back in 1990 and they had these fantastic footlong hot dogs fantastic footlong we were starving moon my friend benny i got one for two for each of us and there's the free source which at that stage was you know ubiquitous so big stripe of the tomato sauce big stripe of the french mustard because it was great right big stripe get back we're in the little um stall seats bite it it's english mustard go straight against our palate we come up for error about 90 seconds later scraping our tongues not going everywhere hacking up the thing we had been packed with people around us there was like a 15 meter diameter around us and not be getting it so never trust the grey mustard that's my lesson it used to be feral all the cogara and i um was at the rate of some of the tigers that played the game there they all got abused and and uh by the the crowd with all the like vilification and the the dirty language was it you might have been the tigers i actually went to a game there with um Wayne jr pierce he drove me to a game there when he was coaching ballet and uh they got pumped by 50 and i think it was just when you it was just when you were a kid when you were playing uh yeah like me and my brother got oh when you were playing junior pierce in the local hero oh did a copy on oh did a copy on ebay fair chance yeah 399 so as soon as i get it i'll upload it and i'll share it with you oh you're lucky anyway thanks you have been listening to the podcast formally known as the third most popular rate rate is podcast on the internet right is with you it's like and the pork and matt on the pork i'm like i'm matt you and we will talk you again safe. so bonnet came right in and he's gonna try. to tie the scores up it was wide out and shadow bomb the kicked before turning from the sidelines july he wouldn't spray it this time oh but he missed again oh yes he missed again well savage dance god lovely try and your mom then made it six in front but if he smashed the line it's got right beside the pose now we'd have extra time shadow surely couldn't spray it this time i'm oh but he missed again oh yes he missed again from straight in front the shadow missed again so [BLANK_AUDIO]
