She just pulled in And we're all ready to go on a Wednesday rain today Lisa well It's gonna be cloudy you could see a pop-up shower around Quincy but nothing major just like murky Humid though but temps in the 70s and the weekend is looking. Yeah, beautiful. Yeah stellar weekend. So Do we have a talk back update of some sort Justin? Well, we started yesterday's show the big Tuesday show with this one Hey, I would like it if you guys could pass along and have your birthday to Beth She's been a die hard nut over the show for over 30 years and she kind of got me hooked on it And also if you pass it along it might help me get some tonight Thank you in advance. Yeah, we wish about the happy birthday for that for that guy right there Here's the update from this morning. Hey, I'm just reporting back in from yesterday on Beth's birthday You guys completely hooked me up. Everything went great. She was psyched on the birthday wishes and songs you guys played yesterday And yeah, everything went great last night if you know what I mean Yeah, I'm giving you guys the assist And I'm not gonna lie to you. I was pretty good Yeah, yeah, I mean we we asked him to give us the update tell us how he made out I would love to know what his version of pretty good is though. I think we'll never know Beth wants to call in and give us the update That's if you're listening again a happy birthday yesterday, but we want to know how Ben did he sounds really smooth Oh, what's his name? Oh, yeah Yeah, that's cute and hopefully Beth has waken up with a big smile on her face Speaking of birthdays today is Broadway star Kristen Jenna with birthday We add her on the show on Monday And by the way today is Kristen Jenna with day in Boston declared by Mayor Michelle will yesterday. I love that Wow, that's so cool, and you know it. It's also J. Lowe's birthday, too. Wow. That's all right 55 Yeah, yeah, is she still alone? No, wait a minute. You told me they were exchanging love plays I read the story to Billy yesterday. It was on the Daily Mail We don't know how truthful this is but their time apart. They're saying they're trying to still work on the marriage And that's why they're wearing their their rings, but they're going back to how they first connected over writing love letters Okay, I don't understand that once you're done with the love letters you have to be able to be in love and be together Yeah, I think they like the idea of each other, but I don't know if they know how to exist together But wasn't there a story that J. Lowe took out the box of love letters. Yeah, he wrote and she did some music based on it He actually bound them up into a book and gave it to her a few years ago But that was part of the problem He was annoyed because all the writers that were writing with her because we know she's writing her music Mm-hmm was saying calling him Penn Affleck and he was like, oh my god They've seen everything I've written. Yeah, it was because he just between us the greatest love story never told She told everybody well, he's writing more letters supposedly. I love that Hey, did you guys see the video of the breeched whale? I can't I can't stop watching it. It's I'm telling you. I've said it for a year now animals mammals They're all rising they want the land back Yeah, forget it all started with dinosaurs and now they want it back But what's causing a whale to do that like what were they too close to it? Yeah Yeah, the internet was internetting meaning you know as the video went viral on X I was watching it people are like they were provoking the whale You know they they made the whale do that no the whales do what whales do they reach every so often I think it's sometimes it's a playful thing And sometimes they're up for air thing is now with I know people don't so I'm gonna leave it with global warming the waters are different So animals that were or fish sharks whales that were not normally where the boaters are are now coming. This has become such a story. First of all, I play pickleball. I love pickleball Pickleball people are crazy though. I just want to go you are crazy. So that makes crazy people. Okay so Anyway, several towns now have complaints against pickleball because If you put up a series of pickleball courts next to a home a residential area Or behind an apartment complex or something. It's very loud. I know I can hurt. Yeah, it's very annoying And it's constant. Yeah, these people are dealing. I don't want to deal with it Imagine six groups of four playing pickleball all at the same time all day long So it's a big deal in brain tree now. Yeah, and it's a big deal in melrose I remember about a year ago. It was a big deal in need him or newton Uh, it's I can't even imagine living next to a series of pickleball courts Enjoy sitting in my own home even with the tv on loud Uh with the radio on my front porch loud. It just took a block of noise You can't open windows. We wear noise canceling headphones. It's traumatizing. Oh my god This is a nightmare because it's non-stop people wait to get on the court Yeah, couple that with a pickleball chatter, right? They talk constantly. Oh, yes And again, I love the game But just a lot of talk and it's a very social sport like, uh, I know uh, I was on the vineyard or someplace Uh pickleball as well as uh, when you have multiple courts people go and they bring coolers They have high top set up outside the courts So they spend the day there they'll play a couple of rounds and they'll have a glass of wine They'll uh talk. They'll have lunch and then they go back on the court. It's crazy land Well, I know I know handle right now there's plenty of the but there's one in handover where they have like indoor ones So it's a problem that there's one here outside. Are they like free because the indoor ones you have to pay for? Yeah, well, yeah, and they're next to residential areas. Yeah. Well, there's an indoor pickleball place right in south boston Yeah, uh, the interesting thing is you can't get a court for two or three months And you mentioned the one from last summer. That was I believe in wellesley Uh, yes And the one in south the I mentioned the social aspect of pickleball It's an indoor pickleball facility, but they have couches around the courts. So you can sit around and lounge around There's a full bar. There's a restaurant. There's food. Well, that sounds fun because it's indoors. So it's not bothering anyone But again, it's very social so what a lot of chatter. How do you have the pickleball? He doesn't like chatter. He does not. Oh my god. I've I've heard this before. Oh, no, no No, you can't step that's the kitchen. No, you're in the kitchen. You're in the kitchen It's like rule through on that say the score. You got to say the score out loud Shut up. Yeah, the rules are like out of control and they just don't stop talking There's even a facebook group Where people can complain. Yeah, and about the pickleball sounds What we find is their stories are very much the same and it's always a wide swath of people What makes the noise so maddening? This is gun shots a little brother pickleballs. It's uh Impulsive noise is described as a sudden and hence burst of sound similar to gunshots fireworks This type of noise is hard to ignore these folks are not too sensitive. They're responding to What's going on here? I agree with them. It's pop pop pop pop pop. Yeah, well the guy you just heard from He actually has a business called pickleball noise Like he goes around and tests the noise levels of the various pickleball places in defense of these people who are outraged And they're filing lawsuits and everything against the top people are moving they're selling Their family homes to get away from the pickleball But how do you combat this? Like is there like some noise canceling like fence? Well, they're trying a couple of things, but it's impossible unless it's indoors because now they're putting padded Walls up on the fences around public pickleball courts. Uh, they're also now coming out with a larger pickleball racket face Uh, so that would make less noise and it's a little bit more padded So instead of a crisp with that just not almost tennis because tennis is A similar game and it's not as loud. Yeah, tennis is more of a silent ping. It is That's what i'm saying. So by doing they have a bigger a bigger paddle. That's essentially just tennis Well, it's crazy. I'm telling you the pickleball world and I love it. Yeah, but it is Absolute crazy. It is even even Lisa sun Riley who's a world-class tennis player. He's he loves pickleball I go down to my grandparents house and they're like you can't pickleball Riley. There's too many injuries. I'm like Nana these people are almost 100 years old I was going to say pickleball anybody can play. Uh, let's go to Michelle. You're calling 25. So we were talking about this yesterday. So there's this running club in new york It's actually a dating app running club. It's called lunge running club in new york city And it's getting so so popular because people run and then they after their run they go out for drinks after And it's just become this huge thing come with us to lunge the singles run club in new york city So if you're single you were black and then if you're not you were color, but basically everyone's single So everyone's wearing black and this has been going on for about eight weeks now, but every week it's gotten bigger So this week it was a huge group And so we start off by doing a three mile run you can walk it or run it And then afterwards we all go to a bar and this week we went to house and hall And so we just got to drink and met new people I have to say i'm looking at the group all in black in their running clubs. Yeah, this is one good-looking group of people Wow, okay And it's a lot of people after a morning run a massive amount of people I don't know how they can get into one bar, right? But this is the thing I know how she says you can run or walk like okay if you're walking in a run club automatically I feel like yeah, they're looking back They're gonna be like, okay. I'm not gonna go on a date with you. You can't run three miles. Okay. I'm in a run club Let's get it together. If you want me, you can at least put three miles in I don't know see i'm not into the group things. Yeah, like when I run I like the peacefulness People they can talk when they run. I can't at all. Yeah, I can't. I'm like billy I kind of like to do about myself. Yeah, this looks really fun to me Well, here's the thing we hear we talk about it on this show all the time all the struggles that people have on dating app Yeah, people are always complaining. They're on them But they complain that they're not meeting anybody. I think this is a great idea Yes, it's a group thing. It's a lot of people, but you're actually like in front of somebody right you're active Yeah, yeah, you're doing something it's an automatic conversation started because you know that you have one thing in common Right, and you could eventually become running partners. You know like a you know, yeah, exactly. They're just walking partners I would be walking And I like that that they're open to people walking. Yeah, because that's how it starts Like you're not a runner. You got to be able to walk three. Yeah, and the question is how many of them Are really single and how many are running in a different way? Oh, honey, it's just a one-class I just want to meet a friend of mine. We're going for a run. You're really into running You have no idea I guess the question for me is like, okay, if you don't run if you're not into fitness But you're single and you want to meet someone you're not having any luck on any apps Do you go or what is an event that you would go to how far would you go? Right to meet somebody or have you done this have you met somebody running? They're running clubs in boston Oh, there are a lot. Yeah, there's one tonight Well, we're at yeah, there's one today at the boston social running club Um, it's in boston. It's six 30. Oh, I think they've been around for you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, so there are running clubs Oh, i'm sure a lot of people have met running or in a running club Yeah, this one though in New York is like next level But how do you meet if you're not a runner this particular don't like to run right? What do you do? Do you go to like a concert or do you go to like a pottery barn please like a pottery place of art place? If you're into art like you know what I mean? Like go to a pottery place. You know, oh, yeah. You paint pottery like yeah, they're activity Yeah, they're into You shot the pottery barn That's a different thing I went to a pottery making place once and i'm telling you I can never get those three hours back Well, you never got the item you never got my pottery There's so many activities like paint nights and like you know paint there where you paint a paint picture and you bring your own booze And you drink you know, I mean, I don't know there's plenty of activities you could go do what something you think you could find You know, you're why you can get me because paint and sip. Why not just go sip Leave out the painting and just get right to the bar and right to the wine Well, you could say the same thing about the run club. Well, that's exactly what they're doing It's just about finding something you like to do with this people have similar interests Right. I like this because it's so active. Okay. They just don't seem to be working and they get a little creepy Uh, but Lisa you found something in New York. It's a it's a running club What people meet to run and meet to eat? Thousands of people have joined this and they all meet up hundreds and hundreds of them And they run their little three mile thing and then they head to the bar Yeah, and you have to wear, you know one color if you're not not looking Yeah, if you are and they're all wearing blacks They're all single. Yeah, it's a pretty cool idea when you think of it the video is incredible to watch Uh, but yeah, that's what they're doing in New York people here. They seem to like it. I think hi guys Um, I kind of like this idea of the running club and meeting people but I'm sorry after three miles I'm a hot sweaty mess and I'm sure the other people are hot and sweaty And I don't know if I want to go them mingle out of bar and you know singles and see what happens kind of thing Yeah, because after they finish the three miles. Yeah, go to a boss. Yeah. Well, it's not like you're jumping in a bed I mean you're just gonna talk you can have a conversation and meet everybody's in the same boat I don't like it. It kind of takes a little bit of the edge off. Yeah, first meeting or the first date They're all equally sweaty. Right and you're on that like endorphin high So I'm telling you it like gives you like this extra boost Yeah, I mean think about people work out to have sex Yes, like they like work out and they want to have sex because your endorphins are up. Right. You're actually more sexual in that time Okay, really? Yeah, you're feeling good No, I don't need to work out to one Billy we're runners like when I come back from a nice run and I feel good. I'm like, I'm like I feel good Like yeah, the endorphins are kicking in. Yeah. Yeah, you just want to make sure you pack some deodorant just in case A little body spray will kill you. See I disagree. I think now you're overthinking it We don't use deodorant. So, you know, but well, I know it's right. Yeah. Hey, Justin For those of us that um will never run unless somebody or something is chasing us I say we've got an app called the couch potatoes Now that I could get pied I like that That's good. Yeah, but um, you know, some people have tried it and it hasn't worked out for them So it doesn't work for everybody. Hey, good morning team. This is vegas ray calling back Uh, I did try the running clubs and my experiences that they're extremely clicky And if you're over an age of 38 or something, it's just not for you because most people are very young they're very athletic very competitive and uh, it's It's very hard to keep up through the the pickle ball scene. How about something like a beach walking car? Like a smoker's My mother in law was just sitting right up. It just sit on a bench and puffle at me Like, you know when the smokers going they all talk in the corner. Yeah, all sides. Yeah, I'm social How much more social can you get? Yeah, there's one here in the back. They all care and smoke. See? Really? I think they strike up relationship. They do. They definitely do Is that under the gazebo outside the building? Yeah, really a gazebo. It's like a backpack or something It's in the back, but yes when I use the smoke. Yeah, it's it's an instant connection It is somebody just not the hell you might have black lungs, but you'll find one That's right. I don't want to sound pretentious, but They just they care so about so much about their fitness and they just forget to care about their growth Interesting. It's just you know friends of harrow parker But the thing is I am a member of the maramac belly striders Right and we're a really big social club too. It doesn't matter how old you are. Yeah, you know We do have some competitive runners, but you know what good for you. We don't care We're more of a social group, you know if we run on a thursday night And um, we end up at starchy's and the other thing and over you have a big you buy yourself a big goblet of wine It is you have dinner. You know, we have a guy that was this guy lu that died a couple of years ago He was 90 years old and he was He was finished. So so we have like these pins and shirts that say be like lu You know more of a social group because my kids are in their early 20s I'm not that fast, but I finished Oh, do they your kids in the 20s go to the the gatherings and the well? That's the thing. Um I used to have my my kids. I used to do the family membership with the maramac belly striders and um Every from september all the way through june the last wednesday the month we get free pizza. It's al's pizza And here's the cash bar. Okay, this is going to be cool. We have raffles and games So wait a minute is this part of the maramac valley striders because that's a popular club. Yeah, uh, so we're over 500 strong And we run the feast of five on things given there it is and over. Yeah, but does anybody get it Did anyone meet the marathon? Does anyone meet is anyone there meeting like romantically or just oh, yeah, we've had so many marriages for the maramac Really striders and also the mystic run is that run the wakefield lake in massachusetts.
