This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century English author, linguist, and literary critic J.R.R. Tolkien's essay On Fairy Stories

It focuses specifically on his discussion bearing upon four connected terms and ideas: sub-creation, sub-creators, secondary worlds, and secondary beliefs. Successful fantasy and fairy stories involves the author as a sub-creator, producing and offering to us a secondary world in which we can believe and within the scope of which things can be true.
