Episode 280 - Gone Nuts Series - Check in with Bronte Smith - Racing Towards Gone Nuts

In our latest episode, we're back with Bronte Smith for her second training check-in as she prepares for the 'Gone Nuts' Ultra Adventure Run. Bronte offers an honest and upbeat update on her progress, sharing the highs and lows of her training journey. Despite the holiday season, Bronte successfully managed her training around Christmas and New Year's, demonstrating her commitment and adaptability. She highlights improvements in her performance, including achieving a new personal best in a recent Park Run and almost hitting another in a 10k time trial. This progress is a source of encouragement and motivation for her. Bronte's training included a brief trip to Perth, where she experienced running in warmer weather. She enjoyed the change of scenery, turning her runs into explorative adventures in new suburbs. This adaptability to different conditions is a key aspect of her training. She also discusses the importance of proper nutrition and hydration during her runs, experimenting with various gels and other recommendations to find the best options for her body. Additionally, Bronte has started incorporating night runs into her routine, preparing for the night segment of the race. These runs have been a new and enjoyable experience, though challenging in different lighting conditions. As Bronte approaches the peak of her training in the next four weeks, she anticipates the most challenging phase, including more hill work, which she admits isn't her favourite. However, she maintains a positive attitude, looking forward to tapering and reducing the intensity as the race nears.**A couple of BIG favours: 1) please like and review this podcast so more people will discover it :)2) come on the podcast and talk about your running journey and/or refer someone you’d love me to interview (whether you know them or not :) )  Lets not keep the power of running a secret any more!  Hit me up on Facebook/Instagram (FitMIND FitBODY) or send me an email - Michelle @ FitMINDFitBODY .co  Don't miss an episode of the FitMind FitBODY Podcast.
