Episode 278 - Gone Nuts Series - Check in with Jo Stumm - Jo’s Journey: Running into March

In this engaging follow-up episode, we catch up with Jo Stumm to see how her training is progressing for the 'Gone Nuts' Ultra Adventure Run. Jo discusses the challenges and successes she has experienced since our last check-in, offering an authentic glimpse into the life of an ultra-marathon trainee. Jo talks about her training routine post-Christmas and New Year's period, highlighting how she has managed to maintain her running schedule amidst the festivities. She reflects on the beautiful weather in Tasmania, which has been conducive to her training, and shares her enjoyment of the longer daylight hours for running and biking. Despite some missed strength training sessions, Jo expresses a positive attitude, emphasising not being too hard on herself for the occasional lapse. She acknowledges the importance of strength training and plans to get back into a regular routine now that the holiday season has passed. Jo also discusses her strategies for managing long runs, including her approach to hydration and nutrition. She has been practicing with electrolytes and different food options to find what works best for her body during these extended exercises. Another interesting aspect of Jo's training is how she chooses her listening material based on the terrain of her runs—opting for music during uphill segments and podcasts for downhill or easier parts of her runs. As the race day approaches, Jo shares her feelings of excitement mixed with apprehension, and how she mentally prepares for the challenge ahead. She talks about breaking down the race into smaller, more manageable segments to keep herself motivated and focused. **A couple of BIG favours: 1) please like and review this podcast so more people will discover it :)2) come on the podcast and talk about your running journey and/or refer someone you’d love me to interview (whether you know them or not :) )  Lets not keep the power of running a secret any more!  Hit me up on Facebook/Instagram (FitMIND FitBODY) or send me an email - Michelle @ FitMINDFitBODY .co  Don't miss an episode of the FitMind FitBODY Podcast.
