Spend as much time as possible on your feet, learning the terrain, and not being overly concerned with speed. 2. Incorporate core strengthening exercises and cross-training activities like mountain biking to complement preparation for diverse race conditions. 3. Balance running with other life commitments. Garry fits his training into his schedule by running on his way home from work, doing longer runs into the night with a head torch, and getting up early on weekends for longer training runs. 4. Don't push the body beyond its limits. Garry mentions that he plans to do his longest run at around the 40 kilometre mark to prevent damage to his body. 5. Enjoy the race and the scenery. It's not just about finishing; Garry emphasises the importance of enjoying the journey.Interested in the Gone Nuts Adventure race?  https://www.gonenuts.com.au/**A couple of BIG favours: 1) please like and review this podcast so more people will discover it :)2) come on the podcast and talk about your running journey and/or refer someone you’d love me to interview (whether you know them or not :) )  Lets not keep the power of running a secret any more!  Hit me up on Facebook/Instagram (FitMIND FitBODY) or send me an email - Michelle @ FitMINDFitBODY .co  Don't miss an episode of the FitMind FitBODY Podcast.
