The FitMIND FitBODY Podcast

Episode 228 - From making t-shirts to running ultra trail races around the world…

In this episode of the podcast Tom Rauen from Iowa, USA talks about how he got started running 100 milers on the trails.  Tom is a business owner with a young family, but he still manages to find time to train for ultra events - the next one being the 2023 UTMB in Mont-Blanc, Chamonix in September. His running has provided space for him to think through all the various issues business and life in general has thrown him.  Plus he’s found that it has strengthened his self-discipline and resilience as he regularly faces challenging and uncomfortable moments in his running.  Hitting the trails in particular gives Tom a lot of joy as he immerses himself in nature . He finds that trail running pushes him mentally, physically, and emotionally to unlock new levels of potential/personal growth and he loves it! Running tips from Tom - go by feel, listen to your body, don’t do too much at once, find that parts of running that bring you joy and focus on those.  Tom’s T-shirt business - 1800TSHIRTSTom’s Ultra Running Coach - Andy Jones-Wilkins**A couple of BIG favours: 1) please like and review this podcast so more people will discover it :)2) come on the podcast and talk about your running journey and/or refer someone you’d love me to interview (whether you know them or not :) )  Lets not keep the power of running a secret any more!  Hit me up on Facebook/Instagram (FitMIND FitBODY) or send me an email - Michelle @ FitMINDFitBODY .co  Don't miss an episode of the FitMind FitBODY Podcast.
