The FitMIND FitBODY Podcast

Episode 132 - From weight loss surgery to running Zen Time.

In this episode Mike Kidd opens up about his struggles with weight loss and mental health (especially connected to grief).  At one point last year he and his wife had, had enough of their yoyo weight issues and how it was effecting their lives.  So they had weight loss surgery together on the same day (their 24th wedding anniversary). Running has become Mike’s exercise of choice after the surgery and he’s not looking back.  He’s loves ParkRun and the “Zen Time” that running has given him.  He also said that running has improved his outlook on life and makes him much nicer to be around - according to his family and work mates :)  *Something most of us can relate too :p Mike’s Tips - Start slow, forget the pace (you’re only racing yourself), run to what feels good.  Not every run needs to be a personal best.  Don’t be too hard on yourself - if you’re running because you’re enjoying yourself you’ll do it a lot longer than if you think you have to. https://fitmindfitbody.co/podcast/
