G'day friends, it's Bliss the Guy and this is episode 1333 of Walk to Work Mobile Huston Podcast. Except I'm not walking to work, I'm at work. It's technically still, oh wait, I had that, didn't I? I had it in front of me, but it was Friday the 2nd of July, just like it was last episode, but this is an episode for Tuesday the 16th. And it'll probably go up earlier than that. So that's kind of weird, isn't it? You'll be listening to an episode saying it for Tuesday the 16th, it's not even that, yeah. But anyway, we've got the last round of class cards to look at for perils and paradise. And it's only one class, which you know, immediately makes you go, or maybe that's not going to take as long as the rest. And also if it doesn't, that's probably fine, because I kind of need to get back to work. Got this job interview this afternoon, not for me, but for someone else. I'm just on the panel. I've now seen the questions we'll be asking, one of which is for me to ask. So I'm on a panel to ask a question four times, or is it five times, once, each? It's the same question. It's a wordy question, I have to admit. And look, I should also acknowledge that I know I'm not just asking the question, I'm also helping decide on the applicant. You get the idea. Anyway, that's coming up. I need to go get ready for that. So if this episode doesn't go long, that's fine. So but let's talk about these droid cards. I have to say I'm kind of excited about some. I'm also kind of excited about some of the warrior ones I discussed this morning. Sorry, last episode. But you get the idea. Now, I've put the droid cards into my phone to be able to scroll through them. And I've put one of them further down the list than maybe I should have. And so I'm going to start with that. Well, actually, no, let's start first of all with the cards that we know already. Hiking trail, that's the druid location. Discover a taunt minion after you gain armor, reopen this, three mana, three durability, and rare, where I do. And then we have cruise captain Laura. Seven mana, four, five pirate. Now, I don't believe I've talked about this before, but she was revealed in one of the early videos. Seven mana, five, four pirate, not great status, battle cry someone to random locations. I mean, unless you hit two of the like one model locations, you're going to be pretty happy with the value you get out of this I suspect, which is kind of cool. But, you know, they're random. You don't have a lot of control over that. Now, onto the new card. Now, these cards, I believe, are being revealed, or by the time you hear this have been revealed by vicious syndicate. And Zako has already alluded to the fact that one of the cards is probably going to make people very unhappy. Some people happy, some people unhappy. And I think it's this card. The card in question is epic three mana spell called new heights. And there's no type. It says increase your maximum mana by three and gain an empty mana crystal. Oh, I think I'm in love. So, warrior is touristing with druid. Druid, I think is touristing with warlock, maybe? Actually, let's have a look. Do we have that? Is that the druid tourist down there? No, she's not. Cruise Captain Laura is not the druid tourist. Who is the druid tourist? I'm just skipping ahead to see if I can see it, my list. Oh, yeah, no, no, no. Mr Vista is a mage tourist. Anyway, so druid is with mage. I mean, look, mage might want, I mean druid might want some mage spells to go with it. But, you know, new heights. Increase your maximum mana by three and gain an empty mana crystal. Now, this is immediately comparable to audio amplifier from Festival of Legends, right? That was the two mana two three, set your maximum hand size and mana to 11. Now, that's a great joke for spinal taps. Fantastic. But it's worded in such a way that a second audio amplifier is completely useless, which is a shame because I did very much enjoy running one audio amplifier index. In fact, I keep mentioning that I want to do a whole episode on audio amplifier, and I don't think this is it. But still, new heights is worded in such a way that if you play a second new heights, your maximum mana is now 16. That's pretty cool. If you play audio amplifier after you've played new heights, your mana goes back to 11. So, we're not playing audio amplifier in this deck. Great joke. It's a shame. If you play guff rune totem in, not guff rune totem, wild heart guff, the druid hero card in the wild, the one that sits your maximum mana crystals to 20. If you play new heights, you go up to 13, then you play guff, you just go to 20. If you play guff, go up to 20, and then you play new heights, you go up to 23. That's pretty cool. I like that. More importantly, this is just old school wild growth, which is a three mana thing which advances your mana crystals. But instead of when you're at 10 mana, you get like a thing that draws you a card, which is a pain that's okay. You just keep going. You just keep having maximum mana added. This is a very exciting card for a lot of people who like that kind of thing, of which I am included, and probably a not very exciting card for people who don't like this kind of thing, which is other people. I can't name them, but I know they're out there. I feel like this is the card to start with when talking about druid because this is clearly going to be things that are used in this expansion. When I think about druid, I think I'm going to be playing this card. Other druid decks that don't play this card, I'm not going to be as enthused on. When I'm playing warrior, I'm pretty sure I'm definitely using Ham the Hungry so that I have access to new heights to play in control warrior stuff, because control warrior with extra mana crystals, whoa, that sounds pretty delightful. Anyway, let's have a look. I'm probably not Reno warrior sadly, but then, I don't know, it's called as Reno is, do we need it? I don't know. I do like deep mana brand. Anyway, new heights is an exciting new card, and I think defines everything else we're going to talk about here today. So let's now move on to other cards that aren't new heights. For example, hydration stations are rare eight mana spell, now no type, resurrect your three highest cost taunt minions. It's a thing, that's pretty good. Who knows which taunt minions we're using, but druid can have some big ones, and resurrecting them seems pretty good. Next up we have Tor Toland Traveler, 3 mana, 1/5 taunt, death rattle, draw another taunt minion, reduces cost by 2. So you can already see what kind of deck is coming together with that. Again, we'd have to look into what the big taunt minions are out there, but there are some. All right, well, next we have dozing dragon, it's a rare dragon, 5 mana, 3/5. Now, interestingly, with the banning or splish-plash-welp, people have been talking about dragon druid now do it. Well, they ramp on 3 now and they ramp up to 5 mana on turn 4. And yeah, that's summer flower child still, but it's not ramping to 4 mana on turn 3, where you get to do your desertness, majoring and cheer dragon stuff like that. This is a 5 cost dragon, so you're going to ramp to that with either wild growth, or I guess new heights, not that I think you play that in dragon druid, but with wild growth from Malfurion's gift. And this 5 mana, 3/5 dragon says dormant for two turns, while dormant, summon a 3/5 dragon with a taunt at the end of your turn. So you're getting two extra 3/5 dragons for the cost. They probably won't be there by the time the dozing dragon wakes up, right? But that's still reasonable value. Like, basically you're spending 5 mana now for a 3/5 taunt, because it'll summon one at the end of turn. And then next turn you get another one, and then next turn you get another one. So 5 mana for 3/5 taunts over 3 turns is pretty good value. I don't know how much dragon druid wants that, but like, that's better than it looks. Anyway, trail mix. 2 mana, nature spell, common, gain 2 mana crystals next turn only. It's an interesting card. It reminds me of a spell in battlegrounds, actually, that does this, and that's quite powerful. I mean, the spell in battlegrounds cost 1, this cost 2. But if you are a druid, and on turn 2 you can play a trail mix, and you weren't going to do much else other than the hero power, this is a great thing, because next turn you have 5 mana instead of 3. And it's just next turn, but that's still good enough, right? Maybe you're playing a dozing dragon, maybe you're playing a summer flower child, maybe you're just doing whatever, but that's very powerful, this temporary mana boost. I'm not 100% sure that fits in every druid deck out there ever, but like, it seems like a very powerful thing to be doing. Anyway, next up. Nope, that's the token from the legendary druid, mage tourist, called MrVista, 5 mana, 5/5 stats are fine. Battlecry in 3 turns replay every spell you cast between now and then. Okay, so the other thing I was just talking about was like the little locationy thing, like it'll sit there like a secret, you know, you're seeing it in 3 turns, 3 casts every spell you played while this was in play. So we're playing 5 mana 5/5, or on turn 3, thanks to trail mix, who knows. And then over the following turns we're going to play some more spells, and then once the scenic vista, what's the word expires, I guess, you're just going to play them all again, which can be pretty powerful if you have played things like new heights in there, right? You're just going to cast it again, get more mana crystals and more max on mana, anything you've drawn cards with, more of that, like, ooh, that seems nice. Like, I'm kind of torn now, do I want to be playing warrior, touristing into druid, or do I want to play druid, touristing into mage? Like, with mr vista, because I can't play mr vista in the warrior deck with druid cards, but like, whoa, exciting stuff. Anyway, moving on again to sleep under the stars, this is quite an expensive epic spell, because 7 mana, it's arcane. Choose thrice, what a lovely word, thrice, 3 times. Draw 2 cards, gain 5 armor, or refresh 3 mana crystals. Now the funny thing about this is I saw the tokens for this card first in the library and the content created discord, and I was like, 7 mana to draw 2 cards, that doesn't sound very good. 7 mana to gain 5 armor, oh, it sounds even worse. 7 mana to refresh 3 mana crystals, hang on to something here, I'm missing, and what I'm missing, of course, is that you're playing 7 mana spell and choosing 3 of these, so technically you could pay 7 mana to refresh 9 mana crystals. I know that sounds like a lot, but we are talking about in the new heights world where druid just has way more mana than everyone else. 7 mana to draw 6 cards, it's a lot, it's pretty doable. 7 mana to gain 15 armor, it's not nothing either, like that's almost a Reno, right? The trick here, of course, is that you're going to be doing each of these choices one of a time, might we do with branching paths, which means you're going to cast 7 mana, you'll probably draw 2 cards. All right, what did I draw? Did I draw something that I can play this turn that I could play if I refresh 3 mana crystals, maybe, maybe, and then maybe you refresh 3 mana crystals so that you can play one of the cards you've drawn, and then effectively what you've done is pay 4 mana to draw 2 cards, that's not so bad, you've still got one more choice after that, is it gain 5 armor, or is it draw 2 more cards, or is it even refreshed 3 more mana crystals? Like, 1 mana to draw 2 cards is actually pretty reasonable, like there's a lot of versatility in this, like maybe it's just draw 2 cards, gain 10 armor, like it's expensive, but I don't think expensive is something that we should count against this, because Druid is wanting to play new heights, and probably wants to play multiple new heights, and even just trail mix to like ramp stuff, I like whoa, this is the kind of Druid I like, I don't know what we're doing with it, but I'm playing this stuff and seeing where it goes. All right, the last Druid card I have here to talk about, look I know I've rushed through this, but it's still like once we can pull this together, is bouldering buddy, this is a 7 mana 6/7 elemental, now it's got taunt, so it's clearly something we can bring back with whatever that other spell is called, I should look at the name of it, I should, I'm gonna scroll back down here, scroll back down, scroll back down, where was it, a hydration station, so we can bring it back with that, so 7 mana, 6/7 taunt, rush and taunt, so that's pretty good, cost 1 if you have at least 10 mana crystals, again 10 mana crystals is not going to be too hard to get to for a Druid, might be, might be tough of course, but on 1 mana 6/7 taunt rush is a fantastic deal, it's an elemental, it still counts as a 7 cost thing, so you're probably still bringing it back with a hydration station, but like any term where you can play a 6/7 rush and taunt for 1 mana along with everything else you're playing, you're pretty happy with, and of course this seems to fit really nicely in with sleep under the stars, right, you draw 7 cards, well no no, you spend 7 mana, you draw some cards, did you hit, did you hit one of these bouldering buddies, maybe you did, maybe did you draw 2 more cards, ah you did hit a bouldering buddy, all right well now we refresh 3 mana crystals and hopefully play it for 1 because we were at 10 mana or something, you know that kind of thing, really pulls together, or even if you just like 7 mana draw 6 cards while you're on 10 mana crystals or more, and you just find a bouldering buddy and just slam it into play there, or 2, right, like I mean are we playing Reno now or are we just not bothering with Reno, I think in Druid we're not bothering with Reno because we want to be playing 2 bouldering buddies, I guess 2 sleep under the stars and most importantly 2 new heights, right, like that's a lot of exciting stuff to do there, overall I'm not sure which direction I want to go with playing cards from Perils and Paradise, but there are a lot of things I want to try at Druid with Mr Vista, just so I can get lots of new heights off and draw some cards and do stuff, I'm not sure what mage cards I want, I don't remember what mage cards there were, some of them were pretty cheap, but that's pretty neat, I also don't mind the idea of just having a tourist in the deck, yeah, oh you could add some mage cards, yep I don't need any, I don't need any, actually the mage location is discover a spell isn't it, that costs 3 or less, but if I'm a Druid I'm discovering a mage spell that costs 3 or less and let me tell you new heights isn't that discoverable, all right so okay so there's a mage spell on play, so druid splashing mage, maybe I want to do that, or maybe warrior splashing druid because like warrior with new heights sounds amazing, I'm kind of excited by this line cook that I talked about last episode, almost this morning, that the 2,4 for 3 with tradable and every time you draw it you have a copy of it tanned, like not exciting as a 2,4 it's got taunt remember, but the more you hand buff it, like when, if you hand buff something and trade it into your deck it holds those buffs in the mana discounts, if you return something from play to your hand that loses any buffs and discounts, if you shuffle anything into your deck other than by tradable it loses all that stuff, but tradable keeps the enchantments, so you can hand buff stuff in your hand whether it's with the muscle drinks or with char, and just keep buffing these line cooks and keep trading them in, and then just keep drawing them, and they're big taunts, 3 mana like 6 nines or whatever, like that's pretty enticing, I really like the sound of that, that sounds like fun as well, and like is that warrior splashing druid for I don't know, card drawing and ramp, or is that hunter splashing warrior, so that you can just have line cooker then also be playing like bird watching to be drawing them and buffing them again, I don't know, I don't know, like that already is three different directions that I'm excited to try things in perils and paradise, and it's really only over like effectively two craft classes right warrior and druid and touch you on either mage or touch you on either hunter, I'm looking forward to this expansion, now what I'm not looking forward to is waiting for it of course, July 23rd is several days away, just realized July 23rd, looking at my calendar, July 23rd is effectively 24th my time, 23rd my time, yeah I booked in my covid booster vaccine, it's been a while since I've had one, because I kept catching covid, like the rules here are that you can get it if it's been six months since you last had a booster or six months since you last had covid, and each time I got covid the last couple of times was just within six months of the last time, and so it's been a while since I had a booster, and it's now been just over six months since I last had covid, so I'm really looking forward to getting a booster, because you know, I have a history of asthma and things, and I know that when I've been struck by it, it has not been very pleasant, and I'd like to try and avoid that, not to mention, I don't want to spread it around and stuff like that, so ok, covid booster vaccine booked in the day before, so the day that it comes out, nice, I have, well who booked that, we have a regular meeting, we're talking about some finite stuff, someone's booked in a DocuSign training meeting right alongside it, don't check my calendar before inviting me to things by all means, and then in the afternoon we're meeting with lawyers because we're making sure our wills are sorted out, talk about grown-up stuff right, like that's, oh you're a grown-up, you've got children, you should probably make sure you actually have a will just to make sure things go the way you want, if things don't go the way you want. Oh great, I've got my end of, I've got my mid-year review the day after it expires live as well, so I mean lots of things happening as the expansion goes live, but between now then, who knows, like we're away over this weekend, I'm back Wednesday I think, Wednesday afternoon we'll probably get back into town, hopefully we'll have perils and paradise in arena before then, and that'll be a nice way to fill in the rest of the months before the expansion, once the expansion arrives 24th my time I'll try and finish a legend climb and stand it and maybe wild if I haven't done it by then, we've got twist to play between there and then as well, like there's loss to do, but I just want to play with the cards now, which is why I think it's fun to be able to play with them in arena and stuff, it's just nice. Now anyway, looking at the recording, we've only been having 16 minutes, which admittedly is a lot shorter than we normally would, but again, got a bit of a full afternoon and a full weekend ahead of me, so maybe we just call it that, we keep it a short episode, probably the shortest episode, we've done it a long time, oh no, except that one that I recorded when I did have COVID and it was very short, you could tell that I needed it to be short, but yeah, looking forward to perils and paradise, there's lots, there's even lots of cards that I haven't talked about yet, lots of neutral cards, some of them are cute and nifty and maybe they make their ways into decks, but I don't know, cool expansion, I really do like the theme, it's weird, I'm not someone who likes beach holidays in general, one though, I don't like the idea of them, pretty sure when I'm at them, I do enjoy them, can I get out on a paddleboard on the water, oh I like that kayaking, I do love some kayaking, I'm not a beach person, but swimming in the water, once you're swimming in the water, that's nice, all of that stuff, I think thematically this expansion is really nice and part of it I think for us is the fact that it's the middle of winter now, so we see all the summer stuff, like the middle of winter is when you want to go away on a summer holiday to a beach, that sits just right with me, maybe Blizzard should have timed this for a winter expansion in America so that, you know, the fans will be like, oh this really does sit right right now, no it's in the middle of the year and that's fine, we'll take it, anyway look, time for me to sign off for now, and we'll be back next week on Thursday, figure out what's happening then, maybe I'll have stories about how I've been going on the ladder or maybe I won't or maybe we'll have arena, as soon as there is a arena and if there's perils and arena, I'm going to do some arena runs on the podcast, at least one, and then play some arena, or maybe more, I don't know, because it's just fun and we don't do it very often so we keep it with the expansion, anyway, time to sign off, follow me on Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube AdplisticeGuy, follow the podcast, walk to a KHS on Twitter and come hang out, Discord, Discord, .me/bustica, I've just realized I didn't do a patron thank you, now usually at this point when I realized that I haven't done a patron thank you, it's too late because I'm busy clamoring to get on train, but I'm not, I'm still just sitting outside at work, but today we are thanking no spare time, so thank you to no spare time and those to the patrons for the support, it really does help everything we do, patreon.com/bustica, if you can afford a support, if you can't tell a friend, leave a review, just hang out, it all helps, anyway, look, it's always a pleasure to have you join me for my um, sit outside, walk to work, good luck everyone and everything you do, because you're all absolute bloody legends, you are, and I love you all, you know, I think part of the reason I managed to get through this so quickly is because I'm not actually dodging traffic and having to look around all the time, funny.
