[MUSIC] [MUSIC] Hello and welcome to the Field of Geeks episode 227. I'm Josh. >> I'm Bill. >> I'm Jonah. >> I'm last. >> Yeah, last. >> Last. >> Come on now. >> I mentioned Jesus. >> There you go, that's better. For our 10th year, we got Mitch back finally. >> Yeah, yeah. >> Boy finally let me out of the dungeon, guys. >> There you go, there you go. >> I've seen both guys. >> Yes, yeah. >> Yeah, and to kick off the show, two of us is going to be drinking, because we're man. >> Well, I wouldn't say that yet because we are drinking something called pear pie drips, which is by our friends at Barntown. >> Yeah. >> Unofficial sponsor of the show. >> Hey, there you go. >> Barndown, you need to sponsor the show. >> This is a beer, hold on, they put the price tag right over the. >> Hey, there we go. >> What the hell? >> All right, pear pie inspired gluten-free sour with pear, cinnamon, graham cracker flavor, and vanilla. >> All right, so we're going to get. >> Because I don't like pears too much, so. >> I'm going to give this one a try here. >> I'm sure it tastes like that before. >> I always confused pears and peaches. Even as an adult, I thought this was more like. >> Yeah, yeah, I get you some. >> But we'll see. >> I like the Flintstones glasses, you know? >> Yeah, I had the madman one somewhere, but dishes, you know. >> 10 million strong and growing. >> I'm not going to drink any of this, but let's hold you. Just sniff it, do you want to smell like? Do you want to smell like? >> Smells like Gerber. >> It doesn't smell like anything, really. >> Smells like what? >> Smells like Gerber, like baby food. >> That's unique. >> Gerber pears. >> It smells like a pie for sure. >> Cheers. >> I did get some cinnamon with that second one. >> Cheers, Mitch. >> Cheers, cheers, gentlemen. >> Yeah, I'll toast with water. >> That's probably the least offensive. >> Jarring, one that we've sampled, yeah. >> Well, to be fair. >> He's not getting the other ones we're like very old ahead, so. >> Yeah, extra fermented. >> It looks like wine, right? >> Except not, but yeah. >> Right, yeah, I'm sure that's the carbonated beverages. >> Yeah, this is pretty mild. >> I like it. >> I like it a lot. >> I should go find my 10-year-old bottle of mad dog. >> No, Jesus. >> No, no, sorry. What is mad dog again? >> Mad dog 2020. It's the elixir that fixes you. >> Yeah, elixir to fix it. >> Whiskier. >> No, no, it's a malt liquor. >> It's like Zima. >> It's like a grape. >> Well, it's a grape or blackberry. >> They make different flavors, so they have grape, and that's their wine. It's actually Mogon David's lowest end of the line for wine. And let me tell you, it comes in a 750 squatter, and you can brown bag it very easily. And it doesn't taste good. It's a 250 bottle still. We haven't hit inflation on the mad-- >> It's a two-liter, by the way. >> Oh, yeah, it's the cheapest drunk I'll ever have, but it's still one of those things that you're gonna wake up with the worst headache in the world. >> It was my first gasoline, probably. >> My first drunken experience when I was about four. >> Oh, I'm so sorry. >> Was on that dog 2020, right? Because my parents had a glass of it sitting on the counter, and I thought it was grape juice. >> Oh. >> And so I chugged that in-- >> Dear God. >> Oh. >> I've never had it since. Let's just say that. >> Yeah, I'm pretty sure that you know. >> Yeah. >> Pretty sure the D stands for dick in the dirt. [laughter] >> Hey, it reminds us we have a sponsor, Mitch. >> Yeah, boob sweat. >> Boob sweat. >> Make sure to go to your local Facebook marketplace and buy a used brawl. >> Yes. You can also cosplay as Mickey Mouse with us. >> Yeah. >> So it works. >> You know. >> Because, you know, Des Moines Con's coming up, and Mickey's very popular at Des Moines Con. >> Absolutely. >> And the people that have to stay 500 feet away from the ball pit. [laughter] >> And yes, Barntown, you can take that name and-- >> Yeah, what would be a flavor for that boob sweat? >> For boob sweat? >> Yeah. >> Give him some ideas. >> Something close to the state fair. >> I think maybe like salted pecan. >> Oh, yes. >> Yes, yeah. >> And yeah. >> It's got to have some more coconut lotion. >> Something that's going to taste like deep fried twinkie. >> Ooh. >> That's actually pretty good. Have you ever had a deep fried drinkie? I mean, it's already fried once, but it's amazing. >> No. >> This is just like evaporate when it's fried again. >> Kind of, but yeah, it's like angel food. You just put it in your mouth and it just goes away. >> I was like when I had that butter stick. It was like, that's disgusting, but no, it was gone. It was like, it tastes like a cinnamon roll. It was delicious. >> Okay, well, it's butter stick. Is that literally just butter on a stick? >> Deep fried butter on a stick. >> It sounds stupid, because Iowa doesn't have enough of a problem with obesity or emergency room weight. >> The only thing that I ever heard that was a problem with it though is that the butter actually melted too much. So then when you took a bite, like all the butter went out and then you were just left with a shell of fried, whatever. >> Yeah. Got all of your shirt. >> Yeah. Is it like a corn dog of butter? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, they just, well, it was like that fancy kind of dessert, you know, crust or whatever. >> Like puff pastries. So it was, I mean, it was like cinnamon-y, but the butter aspect just melted and then you took a bite and it was, boop, it was hollow pretty much, wasn't it? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Interesting. Put a hot dog in there. >> This is making me really hungry. >> Dude, let's move on. >> The best was deep fried Snickers bar, so, and I'll leave it at that. >> Never had that. >> I've had the Oreos. >> I've had the Oreos. >> Yeah, I've had the Oreos. Okay, one last thing. The donuts that they had there last year, is it peaches donuts? >> Is it the giant one? >> They weren't giant. >> They were just like, yeah, big like old-fashioned glazed donuts. >> I didn't go last year, so. >> Ooh, sounds good. >> Those were amazing. >> Oh, yeah. I remember that was a new place. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Deep fried and crusty rolls out to bring those back. Those are awesome. >> Yep. And if you guys want to further do some digging with Iowa State Fair Foods, we have an actual clip out there from whatever episode that was on you, you tested all the foods out. I mean, you didn't test them, but, you know, you're able to repair them. >> You did a review. >> Yeah. >> So it really makes you hungry. >> Go eat fried food on a hot day after you throw some, you know, cow patties. >> Yeah, well, hell, was it a couple of days ago? We had 80 degree weather, so. >> It's Iowa though, I mean, I know. >> It is. >> We're at that point where it's all bipolar. It doesn't know where we're at. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> It'll snow next to you. >> We're supposed to get hail to Friday. >> Yeah. >> So rain and hail on Friday. >> There's that saying it's, if you don't like the weather in Iowa, just wait five minutes. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> That's a great way to put it. Like anyone who bitches about our winters anymore, I'm just like, really? Like, we'll get snow maybe and it's gone like next day or so. >> I just love it when we do get snow and people drive like it's the damn apocalypse. >> Right. >> Especially if you're driving a fucking truck. I know you drive a truck, John. I'm sorry. I'm not. >> I feel targeted. >> I feel targeted. >> Red truck that is. >> I'm not. >> He like said, he locked eyes. >> He locked eyes. >> Yeah, that was a look. >> On another note. >> On another note, Jonah will be looking for a new co-host for the number one comics podcast. >> Because I'm fine. >> Just come up. >> If you need help digging a hole, I'm here. >> No, that's all right. I'm just going to finish my other foot while you guys, you know. >> Well, we probably should get into it. We have a lot to talk about today. We are a little bit late to some of these news items, but we got to talk about it. Gene Ackman. >> Rest in peace. >> Not the way I expected him to go. I knew he was up there in age, but man, it was quite a mystery. >> I apologize because I'm kind of behind the curve on this. So what? >> Him and his wife were found together. >> Well, in their home together. >> In their home together. >> So, yeah. So the mystery initially was what happened. She was found in the bathroom. He was found in like a breezeway. >> Their mud room. >> Mud room. >> On the floor. >> Yeah. >> And then there was a dog that was also deceased found in the bathroom with her. >> Yeah. >> And then there's two other dogs on the property that were just kind of still running around. >> The door is open too. >> Yeah. And so the mystery was, how does that happen? >> Right. >> And it's one of those things too, because everyone's got their conspiracy theories. And it's really, the truth is more sad than any of the conspiracy theories where she passed away of Hansa virus? >> Yeah. >> Saying that right? >> Yeah. >> Contivers. >> Yeah. >> Something like that. You get from like mouth-dropping. >> Yeah. >> Something along those lines. I guess it's rampant in like Colorado and New Mexico and those states. >> Yeah. >> Because I've never heard of it before. And so she had gone sick from that and died from that. A week later, he died and the thought is with his advanced all-timers, he probably did not even know. >> Right. >> No. >> Because she was his like main caregiver. >> Yeah. And he essentially died of like heart failure. >> But at that age though, I mean the only, it is incredibly sad and to know that he probably wandered around for a while, but not knowing, how did they not have like checkups when he- >> In home care, coming in regularly? >> The person. >> No, she was relatively young. I mean, she was 65. So maybe they didn't need it with her there to take care of him. >> Right. >> Yeah. It's just a really sad story and it's, again, there's not a mystery there. >> No. I mean, first I thought it was carbon monoxide poisoning, but- >> I think that's what kind of a lot of people went to. >> I never really thought foul play, but yeah, it was really strange. And then yeah, the dog, the reason why that dog passed away out of the three was because it, I think it went to the vet that day and it was with her, it was in the crate the whole time. >> Right. >> So just to hide, you know- >> You said in here that- >> Dehydrated. >> It was in her bathroom closet. She was on the bathroom floor. >> Oh, yeah. >> And yeah, I don't even know if she was aware she had that virus, but it's a respiratory. It's a serious thing. It, yeah, it's passed through like rodent, basically. >> Is that something that's treatable? >> I think so. >> I have never even heard of it. >> There was some pills by her too, but I don't know if those were, maybe she was treating it or I don't know what happened exactly, but they're pretty like kind of like to themselves. He's last, I mean, he's been out of the game since maybe '06. >> Yeah, what was that big movie that he was in? >> The last movie he did was The Mooseport movie with Ray Oum- >> Welcome to Mooseport? >> Yeah. >> Oh, you're kidding. >> I never did see that one. >> Yeah, that's what he went out with was Welcome to Mooseport. >> And I think he did some voice over work after that, but that was it. >> Yeah, he just kind of secretly privately retired from acting. And he had to, he was taking a lot out of him. >> Dude, he was, I mean, he was such a good actor. >> Oh, yeah. >> Like his, it lasted forever, I mean. >> Yeah, he had the French connection, Hoosiers, I'd never seen that one actually. >> You've never seen Hoosiers? >> I have a classic. >> Isn't that a basketball coach? >> It is. >> Yeah. >> Indiana, right? >> Indiana. >> Yeah. >> Indiana. >> He's a superman and heartbreakers, I like heartbreakers. He plays like a. >> He's awesome and heartbreakers. >> CEO. >> Yeah. >> Oh, God. >> Yeah, he's awesome and heartbreakers. >> Hell yeah. >> And then he was in like, you know, narrow margin and Crimson Tide. >> Oh, Crimson Tide. Yeah. >> That was intense, man. >> Yeah. >> That'd be holy shit. But yeah. >> Yeah, he was a really, really good actor. >> Yeah, she was, she was his wife, of course, was, just played the piano. She's like classically trained and she's also a business woman. They were married since '91. >> Oh, well. So yeah, I mean, they were together for quite some time, but yeah, Bruce Willis's wife responded to this news after the fact, of course, you know, because she's taken care of Bruce Willis. He was diagnosed with type of dementia back in 2023. So if she took to Instagram and especially saying, you know, caregivers need care too. And, you know, they're very vital and people need to show up for them, you know, so they can show up for others. And then most caregivers don't have it all figured out, like, you know. >> Well, it's incredibly taxing. >> Oh, it is. It is. My mom went through a lot after my grandpa passed, like, 'cause she was just so dedicated to it. And like her body just was hard to come off that, come down from it. >> Yeah, 'cause you get so stuck in this like routines and stuff, yeah. It was quite an ordeal, you know, anything in a healthcare profession right now is severely hurting for people anyway. >> Yeah, 'cause, yeah, it is easy for an outsider to be like, "Oh, yeah, they got it together." >> We're one of those. >> They're just like us. They have problems, too. >> Yeah, there's so many other cultures out there where it's like multi-generational families living together and where culture is not like that, where you've got grandparents living with their kids and their kids are living with their kids or you got aunts and uncles in the house and they've got a different type of support structure and Americans, we don't have that. >> Yeah, it's, you know, the old people go to the nursing home, the young people get kicked out of the house when they head to college or whatever it's not like it is in other cultures and I think that probably makes a big difference. >> Yeah, and nursing homes are highly underrated. I think they should pay a more just and attract better staff. I mean, my wife's grandma went to one just for a short stay to help heal her hip and she was in her 90s and she got up one night and had to go to the restroom and she couldn't get back up and she kept on ringing the thing and the lady came in there and yelled at her and she basically said, "Do you think you're the only person that needs help?" And then immediately we pulled her out and I mean, I think you're starting to see that for people who can afford to stay home or be more at home, but still, yeah, you're right. I mean, it's a generational thing and a cultural thing, too, but it's one thing that definitely scares me. The older I get is just, you know, where am I going to go? >> Right. Yeah. I mean, luckily my grandpa lived with my parents and my stepdad was retired, so when my mom was at work, he could take care of them and so he had a pretty good. I mean, yeah, it was, I had relatives go to nursing homes and yeah, you know what, it's not what they want to do. >> No. >> And it's usually not a great experience, sadly. My grandmother who passed away last January of last year, she, you know, her health had been failing and everyone's like, I think they actually tried to put her in like hospice care. My grandpa pulled her out like right away and he's like, "Nope, she's coming home. I can take care of her." >> Yeah. >> But like, so taxing. >> Oh my gosh, yeah. >> So taxing on that caregiver, but yeah, I've seen it. It's a tough situation. >> Yeah. It is. >> Yeah. That's unfortunate. That whole thing is just quite a mess and yeah, I mean, it can happen. It's a wake up call, I think, for a lot of people, so you know, that's probably the good that can come out of it is just, you know, more awareness. >> Now that we've started on a high note, let's talk about more death. >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, let's just keep going. >> Who else died? >> Childhood star. Michelle Trakenberg, man. >> Oh. >> I've never heard of this person. Have you ever seen the movie Euro Trip? >> No. >> Okay. >> Is it like Road Trip, but across Europe? >> Yeah. >> It's not as cool. >> It's where the song Scotty doesn't know came from, have you heard that one? >> No. >> Okay. >> Check it out. It's cool. >> Yeah, it's like mid-90s, kind of- >> It was actually early 2000s that- >> Oh, it was? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, it was right around the- >> And so that might have been why I didn't see it is because I was kind of aging out of- >> Sure, sure. >> Yeah. >> Those movies were a lot less appealing to me as I started getting into like my early 20s. It was a long time, so I don't know how well it holds up, but I liked it the time, so yeah. And she was like, it was very an adult part for her compared to where she came from. >> Right. >> Yeah, Harriet, the spy. >> No, I do think I've seen Harriet the spy. She Harriet? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> And she's a gossip girl, I guess, like the original and then the reboot. I have no idea. >> Wasn't she in Buffy or- >> Yes. >> She was. >> Buffy's sister, right? >> Yep. >> Yep. >> Which, man, I've never seen Buffy. Which is weird because I used to have a hard mat on for her first show, Geller, back in the day. >> A boob sweat? >> Yeah. >> I wish. >> [LAUGH] >> If I could be so lucky. >> How we make it. >> We're going to have a click on the right bottom hand side for a tutorial. >> Yes. >> Dial up. >> Yeah. >> [LAUGH] >> She also produced a crime show of my wife and I watched. It was pretty good. It was called Meat Mary Murder. But yeah, over the years, she started looking kind of sickly and I guess she just had a liver transplant a year ago. >> Well, and I read on that and apparently she had some substance abuse problems with alcohol. >> Mm-hm. >> No, that doesn't sound right. First Liberty. >> No. >> Right. >> No. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, it's normally the nose candy. >> Yeah. >> So basically, she probably went through the first liver and then she was on her way to the second. >> Well. >> Or she, when you. >> Hopefully, she was kind of -- >> Right. If you're lucky enough to get a liver transplant, which is like, I mean, you've got to prove that you're not an alcoholic. I mean, there's so many, like, who are those that you have to do. >> Larry Hagman, Jr., he had a liver transplant. >> Yeah. >> There's so much treatment involved with that too. >> Right. >> Anti-rejection. >> Yeah, you've got to take medicine. You've got to be off, like, all alcohol forever after that. >> Yeah. >> And I mean, even then, even if you're a donor or a match, it's not guaranteed. And I think that's what it ended up happening. >> Yeah, I think that his transplant, I mean, lived with it for, like, 20-some years or so. But, yeah, that was -- she's only 39. That was crazy. >> Very young. >> Yeah. But she did, you know, it's sad, but, you know, when, you know, arts appreciated when an artist dies, she wrote this script, apparently, that studios just didn't greenlight it or whatever, but a producer said it was very well done. So, you know, in hindsight, maybe it'll get to become something. >> Yeah, unfortunately. >> That's what I'm going to -- when all my work is going to get popular. >> You know, I'm going to throw it away. >> Yeah. >> Van Gogh? >> Yeah. >> This is my work. >> Yeah. Well, she also -- there was a lot of -- I don't know if you want to call it controversy, but she died, what was it, the Wednesday before the Oscars, and she -- >> Oh, yeah. >> -- they're in "Memorium" segment that they did. She wasn't the only one that was snubbed. >> They always miss people. >> Yeah, it was -- >> They missed Michelle Tractenberg. >> Shannon Doherty was miss. >> Shannon Doherty, Tony Todd, which I think is a travesty. Tony Todd is amazing. >> And they have a weird thing about it. If they're mostly, like, TV stars, like, Farrah Fawcett wasn't in it, years are back. But -- >> Yeah, but still -- I think whoever's producing it, I think -- whoever -- someone drops a ball, I think. I don't know if it's always intentional, but it does come off that way for sure. It's, like, really -- >> I think you should have everybody, and then just, you know, because I feel like sometimes people who are still alive -- >> No, I'm not -- [ Laughter ] >> Just in case. [ Laughter ] >> No, just just, like, in "Memorium," you'll be miss. >> Yeah, exactly. The sudden we're looking at you. >> And here's who is in the debt floor right now, waiting, you know, the thing. >> But no, I think they need to time it to, like, the song -- or they need to pick the song based on how many people, so then they need to know. >> Oh, yeah. >> Sometimes they pick the song, and then it's like, "Oh, shit, we've got extra people now." >> Right. >> And so they cut them out. And, I mean, in that case, just fall back on, like, a -- >> It's not even a DJ. >> Yeah, just take a Pink Floyd song, you know, ten minutes, whatever. >> Or, like, a DJ Clue remix, where it's like, "DJ Clue!" [ Laughter ] >> Callie, or -- >> [ Laughter ] >> That's a great thing. >> Y'all, this is pinball. >> Yeah. >> DJ Clue. >> My old DJ -- >> DJ, whoo, whoo. >> Yeah, so -- >> That's a huge bummer. >> I mean, I hope her script does get made, but I -- >> I do. I mean, yeah, I mean, the producer could be just, like, maybe just -- same. >> Even if it's good, but, I mean, really -- I mean, she seemed like a smart person, so, I could see her, like, concentrating on that, and then -- >> Yeah, just don't get just waiting to -- >> Yeah, no, I don't know. >> -- produce it. >> Yeah, I don't think he's allowed to produce anything anymore. >> Yeah, I think he's been knocked on that account, but, like, Buffy was going to get a reboot, so she probably would have had work again, but, yeah, given her situation -- >> At the same time, though, I've -- there's been so much of that lately -- >> I know. >> -- of, like, revisiting a series 20 years later -- >> Yeah, there's high chances of creative control, or creative differences, you know, and then, like, Hilary Duff years back was going to bring back her popular show when she was a kid, but she wanted to make it more adult, and then a talk broke down. >> Yeah. >> Well, I think they never meant -- >> You know, they're hand in Montana, Remake. >> Not yet. Oh, yeah, Miley Cyrus, oh, boy. >> No. >> She make her wild. >> Could you imagine her playing a kid? >> Yeah. >> Is that real? [ Laughter ] >> Look at how we show it, and they show, like, a seal going -- >> Yeah. It's a matter. I mean, it's darn close. >> Yeah, it's like, damn, she smoked a lot that day, I guess. You guys might not know who this is. Robert Orsi, 51, died of kidney disease, writer, producer, transformers, and the Star Trek reboot. >> Is it Orsi or Orki? I always said Orsi. >> Orsi. >> I don't know. >> I also mispronounce names all the time. >> Boy, you know, I did hook some phonics for, like, a month, so I don't know if I'm right. >> Oh. >> See, three of the four of us are Valley graduates, so what does that say about Valley High School? >> On a roll. >> Yeah. >> I'm sorry, John. I don't mean to exclude you yet again, but I don't know where you -- >> It's all right. I drive a truck. I didn't go to Valley. What the fuck am I doing here? >> Dude, he looks great. >> He's such a piece of shit. That's so funny. >> Have some books for you. >> Yeah. >> So I'm going to be doing the next episode of number one comics with a fucking puppet or something. Like, what did you think, Bill? >> I'm still going to name -- I would say I'm still going to call it puppet Bill, and then I'm going to beat it halfway through the episode. >> I'll just put a cut out of you, like I did when you left weird -- >> Can I have that, baby? Can that baby be Bill? >> I just, like, copied or, like, snipped it, you know where you were. >> Uh-huh. >> So you can see -- well, it's editing talk, sorry. But you can see his shadow, like, come up, but you're just sitting there like this. It's funny. It looks good, though. I'm like, well, I'm fat on the back, but -- >> All right. >> Yeah. So he also created Fringe. >> I love Fringe. >> Sleepy Hollow helped develop the new Hawaii Five O Road for Alias. He was set to direct Star Trek Beyond, but it fell through. He basically, like, told the Star Trek fans, like, "I don't make these movies for you," and the studio supposedly didn't like that, so they let them go. I thought it was over other than who does he make movies for? >> It's like I don't make movies for everybody, but yeah, he's just saying, like, you know, because the fans get really into it. He does it for the nice fans, not the toxic fans. >> Oh, okay. >> I think it was maybe the intention behind it. >> Is that a thing back? >> I don't know. But he also produced Naio Simi, Ender's Game, and Amazing Spider-Man 2. So -- >> Wow. Yeah. >> So that's what was wrong with it. No, I'm kidding. [ Laughter ] >> And he was super young, too. He was only 51. >> Yeah, you know. >> So it's terrible. >> So we're going into quick news. We're going to try and do this quick. Okay? This is my goal. We're going to see. >> Spoiler alert. It won't happen. >> It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. >> I don't know. Barney doll where he touched you it is funny. Don't say it is funny when they say live action just like the lanking, you know It's not obviously it's not what Peter animated. So yeah, you mean they didn't get a real lion to speak those parts Well several people died. So they decided let's just CGI this sucker. It's like the action It's like the MGM lion that got tortured and ended up killing people is that myth though. I think that's actually true. That's actually true Yeah, the one that roars is the one that ate somebody like yeah, yeah the next day So yeah, I can't say her name, but she's from the bear very acclaimed actress. I'll put it up here Do you anyone watch the bear? Yeah, it's good. You haven't seen that yet, but I'm good show. Yeah She's gonna write and star in it possibly. So yeah Wonderful. Yeah, I don't know it could be the next Barbie guys. You never know, you know If they did it like as they totally took the piss out of it like they did with the chip and Dale movie. Oh, yeah Yeah, they're just like yeah, you know, yeah Barney's like, you know sitting on in some alley or something like that being like Sing this song for 50 cents like death to smoochie. Yeah, I never saw that one. That was a bad movie You know, I might have been his last movie directed goonies to Finally it's in works looks like one of brothers have they've hired a new writer and it will be produced by the veteran team that gave us the first one Obviously the 1985 film. It's almost 40 years old Crazy, but yeah, we're finally getting a sequel unfortunately like the cast members are Grandparent age, so I don't know that legacy past the baton might be towards the grandkids or unless that's what I've always heard Is that they've reached that age now or basically it's gonna be oh, yeah, there's like a lot of remakes where their kids their kids They're gonna go on this adventure. Yeah, I mean it's been done a lot So maybe the grandkids angle or just older people have an adventure could be a thing too. Oh, yeah like in cocoon Yeah, I mean, I don't think sloth is gonna make it in there though. Well, they could always bring him back or He's dead though. Well the actor is dead My childhood in memoriam. Sorry No, but they could just get another guy. I put him in a that's true I don't know or though. I hit maybe at it - oh, you know, you will I don't know he's so he's so into sound now now. Yeah, I'd be in for that Would you go to a show if he came to town a hundred percent just to laugh only if it's at Woolies. Yeah, I Need I need Feldman sweat on me. I need to be in the front row Hope you get a mic shock. Oh, yeah shocked with the mic. Oh, yeah The man tries have you have you seen any of his shows? Oh, yeah, he stops the band a lot like sorry guys They're off key or something Oh, yeah We're off key. No, we had the criterion collection Just released or something like that because he went from like Michael Jackson stuff, right? Yeah, and then he he went into like harder rock And so then he does like a guitar solo where he just like goes up and down the frets as fast as he can It's a real thing of beauty to watch Well, he did that today show twice a couple years back remember that because the first one was such a debacle like oh, yeah Yeah, people like laughed at him and stuff. I mean, I had him back for like a pity I feel bad because I think he was a tormented kid. Yeah, a lot of different issues Great actor entertainer, but yeah, it's just like yeah in life. It's like man. I Got the wrong end of the deal, but he'll definitely be in the movie. I don't think so I I'm sure of it. Yeah, I mean you'll be cheap Yeah, I mean the you'll be there for craft service is probably no I'll be like, I wonder how much it'll cost to get Corey Feldman and be like I'm already sleeping in the back lot I mean chunk is now a lawyer a prominent lawyer for yeah, so you got to come out every time every day. Yeah, yeah Kerry Green hasn't done anything since the 90s Really you just got Shawn Aston and Josh Brolin's been the biggest star out of it all. Yeah, yeah, you'll probably be the most expensive KU Kwan, you know He's had a big comeback. Yeah, it wasn't soon enough because I definitely I bet he would have for sure been in that last Indiana Jones movie They would have had him come back that would have been so cool. Yeah star power. Yeah, it's popularity I would have rather seen him come back then, you know when they had Shilah Buff play Muttley or whatever Yeah Yeah, I mean it it kind of worked with like the The Ghostbusters movies not that 2016 when I was a granddaughter thing passed the baton type of deal. So yeah, cuz I mean you definitely You didn't feel like it was just like, you know the parents of kind of thing though You they were definitely well well the nice thing with the Ghostbusters is it wasn't it didn't feel like a remake Yeah, like yeah, and that's my fear with something like goonies is like is it gonna be a different story or is it gonna be a remake? Yeah, just with it just the generational thing Yeah, it's needs to not follow the tropes that already been set, you know Yeah, they've been dissed it from each other for a long time and then the kids rediscover things like it's been done to death You gotta do something well they could do it kind of like it like it chapter two. Yeah, or national treasure I mean the national treasure pretty much followed the same, you know line process, but it was still good Yeah, I was yeah, you could just say you know, hey, we found another map. Where's this lead? Yeah I heard of the Midwest one-eyed. I don't think they could use the name one-eyed willy any more though Not only get on a straight face. Yeah, probably get them canceled. I don't know about that I mean, yeah, it's I'm a huge goonies fan. I definitely watch it if it came out Yeah, like what would you like to see the story go to I know we kind of just talked about it gold Build again outer space Space cuties find the lightsaber. Yeah, I mean Could you Take me clear out of it. Okay. I would say I think you got to remain true to the the Originals sort of concept and have it be it's gonna be a treasure hunt. Yeah, it's got a town. They lived in maybe it did end up being like Redeveloped that's that's what I would say it would probably have something Yeah, having to do with that because I was the whole reason they went to go find the treasure in the first place is because they're They're home right their community was basically getting. Yeah, shit canned for condos or whatever. Yeah Yeah, but I can see them all like spreading out across the US or something like that I could too like there would like a high school reunion if they did it kind of like a friendship reunion Like there would have to be like almost one person that never moved away from Astoria Yeah, and stayed there the entire time that Josh bros guys, you know, something happened He was the the ultimate yeah runs a pawn shop Yeah, I mean, that's a trope But yeah, you probably have to someone's has to be in town. Maybe they vanished that's another trope But well, we do know we do know for a fact that the dad would have definitely passed away. Oh, yeah, mom is still So and if they go that route or they could just just entirely just dismiss it. Yeah, yeah, yeah I don't think interesting how they do it, but I hope they do it right. I'm glad they're finally making it I mean, gosh 10 years ago or so it was getting it seemed like it was getting really close to being a possibility And it just in 2014 when we went up to Oregon Allie and I visited a story and we went around and all that stuff Oh, cool And back then they were talking about the next year they were gonna green light and do all the production and all that stuff Yeah, and then it died off again. Yeah, it's almost like Beetlejuice two in a way without all the yeah teaser AI generated bullshit. Yeah, yeah, yeah general take over being this one - definitely Do real like stunts and stuff don't CGI it don't make it. Yeah, that's what was so great about the first one is that yeah, you know Practical effects. Yeah, whatever. Yeah, I quan. Yeah His with his booby twaps. Yeah, that almost was like Far fresh but still believable. Yeah, you know what I mean like maybe he's a you know rich inventor now And he probably does like a big tech guy or something Maybe he's got assistance because yeah, you would have to have some believability probably because yeah, if they're they're pushing 60 So if they're like falling and getting hit and stuff like maybe you need a younger younger bunch to go in there and Or something. Yeah, maybe he plays like the the Q - Yeah, that would be cool and make sure that Cindy Lopper's like just in a cutscene like they bump into her at a grocery store or Something like that. Yeah, that would be fun at a whole foods. Yeah, at a whole food You're seeing a music video the girls just want to have fun. No for goonies. She did a song for goonies. Oh, yeah, yeah, yep Yeah, yeah, you never seen it. No, I don't watch music video. Oh from that time. Oh, yeah, it was it was totally 80s Oh, yeah, there was a guy in it who played Mario later on in that TV. Oh, Lua Bono. Yeah Yeah, yep, yeah Lua Bono. No the last music video I probably watched was hit me baby one more time When that came out I was working at in the like Media electronics area a target. Oh, yeah, and that thing would play like every 10 minutes or something like that And I swear everyone would just stop what they're doing. It's like Well, the song yeah, it's like when I worked in IV like we had a lot of hits come out and They would play that over and over in it ruined it for me Like I can never really enjoy those songs that they play the music version of it. Oh, yeah Like you're already clean pretty much. Oh, okay. It's like she's not a twain. It looks like we made it and yeah It wasn't really ones they edited heavily. I don't think but he just over and over a second when I worked at a video store and we would have to play like the The movie trailers the teaser so you put in like the video the six hour or the the four-hour tape of just video trailers Mm-hmm. I'd seen so many trailers for movies I've never seen but I don't ever want to see him because it's like burned into my memory. Yeah, like the Oh 100% we did that a video update to and it was like there were certain ones where they would say like all the catchphrases from the film Yeah, like I don't want to see this now That's what the beauty of those grind house trailers were they did, you know He had them in Chetty, but at eventually became a movie and so did a thanksgiving. You know the fake trailers They had well, don't forget about Hobo with a shotgun was that is that in your - yeah, it was it. Yep Yep, that actually got made I know it got made because I didn't know that that was in that movie though I don't remember. Yeah, so there was so when you got the deluxe edition they they so Hobo with a shotgun was a release in the Canada version of the the grind house movies and so then When you bought it on DVD they had like all the extras and all that stuff and then they released the Canada cuts and Hobo with a shotgun Was in the house. Yeah, yeah, I need to catch that. Yeah, I love grind house. I went to the feeder and saw that Oh, yeah, I thought was great, but yeah, I know it's Death proof I thought was much better than yes. Oh, yeah, I mean, they're so different though because planet terror Yeah, I mean and they were completely different movies, which is what I liked about it too. Oh, I love death proof I know Tarantino says it's like his worst, but I don't really it's a horse shit It's all rooms was his worst. Did he do that one? I thought he did in it He did one of the skits there was like four creators. Oh, none of them were gone. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I remember the 20 of and dearest one was fucking weird the kids. Yeah, dead body under the mattress. Oh, it's my kids. Yeah, that was my kids Sure boy All right, next up guys moral combat - obviously we don't know too much about it But we got a first look at Carl Urban's Johnny Cage on this nice little 80s retro poster thing Weird to have Carl Urban. I don't like Carl Urban for this. I think old. I love it dude. Oh, I do Yeah, make another make another dread movie, please. Yes, cuz that movie is dope and I'm but hey I'm also glad it's on its own if it if they ever do, you know, cuz he was talk about someone like not much ego He committed to wearing a helmet the whole time when he did dread Yeah, a hundred percent fucking Stallone takes it off in like less than five minutes in. Yeah. Yeah, but you get so many catch phrases from Yeah, Carl Urban, that's one of those trailers. That's like burned into my head. Oh, yeah. Oh, yes politics is boring Hey, that's one of that's one for at the movies feel the geeks at the Niners in it too. Yeah, and then yeah, you know what at the time It seemed like a sequel to Demolition man cuz those two were in Demolition man as well that movie they got so close to being Right with that. They had like the ABC robot was do it look cool. Yeah, they had like all the sets were cool The wasteland was cool. The mutants were cool, but it's just it was so bad. Otherwise the law Yeah, I agreed. Yeah I'm still I'm still pissed. They didn't get the Miz to play Johnny Cage. He would have been perfect for it too Mike Mizuransky, I think is what his actual name is, but he's a gun in from a WWE And he was you got a good personality sounds like for it. He's got the look he looks like Johnny Cage He acts like Johnny Cage. Basically. I just don't see Carl Urban doing the splits and punching somebody in the goonies. I don't either I mean, he's definitely got it gonna have the boob sweat killing I mean, we think the look he's got a five o'clock shadow looks like he didn't almost shave off his boy's beard He looks good, but this is like Number two, they're getting into the tournament like the first tournament. Yeah. Yeah, and You need somebody who looks like a young Jean Claude van Damne because that's what Johnny Cage was based on. Mm-hmm. Yeah, and Carl Urban, I love him to death. Love his Billy butcher and the boys love him as judge dread, but he's It's too old or way too old. Yeah. Yeah Considering the fact that the guy who plays Liu Kang is like half his age. Oh, yeah. Yeah, you know, right. I don't know I Mean, yeah, as long as it's not Annihilation bad. Oh, no, I'll still go see it I think it'll be like as good as the last one. Oh my god. I hope so or a little bit better got a hope so cuz I I fanboyed over that me so awesome in that one. Oh god. He's so I like that movie quite a bit Yeah, you know, surprisingly good. It was nice is I mean at the time It seemed like a good idea on Warner Brothers part, but remember they were all going on HBO Max Yeah, yeah, and all the fingers like shit like what my biggest did my biggest like Grip about the movie is like it's not actually the Mortal Kombat. It's all like before the yeah Yeah, I think we're in a new character for it the guy with like a little Little vest or whatever. Yeah, I love the main main dude. Was it 95 when the original came out? Yeah, I love that. I liked that movie. It was easy. I still listen to the soundtrack to the soundtrack. Yeah, amazing Yeah, that was one of my like birthday like parties outing. Mm-hmm. I remember it was I was awesome But yeah, I know turn up for an violation. We've said this many times on the show But holy fuck within like what two minutes I was like oh new cast. Oh, what the hell and oh god This is terrible like it just was bad Well, then Johnny Cage gets killed off like immediately, right? Yeah, and it wasn't the same actor, right? No Yeah, I think it was a different actor Everybody except for Liu Kang. Yeah. Yeah, you know King and Katana. I think we're the only two that were holdovers from the list of Soto. Yeah Well, Sandra best wasn't been an isolation though. Yeah If anybody remembers her she was in a show that I watched on Friday nights late night called wing No, no, no, I didn't have to be does it though. I had to imagine no Pensacola wings of gold it was Josh Brolin's dad James Brolin was in it and it was about military air air force or something like that like may watch with military. Yes. Yeah, that's exactly This show was one of those things a collocation gold. Yeah, look it up. It was syndication. It's just one of those like really This is one of those like FX series. Do you remember that this is one of those ones? I'm gonna be able to find the entire series of it Walmart, aren't I? Oh, no, you're gonna be able to find it on YouTube It might be better on to be on to oh, yeah, I bet it is on to be you know It's cool about some of the old programming like they have the commercials with it too. You're like, oh my god I remember that would be awesome. Yeah, like I love watching old Cisco Nievert. Oh, yeah, they'll talk about like the Raisingets and shit. Oh my god. Take me back. This is so cool. The California Raising's commercial. Oh, dude I heard it too. Yeah, that was so great. You know what's crazy is that there's a Not to get off on topic, but there's a Facebook page that plays like 80s and 90s commercials Mm-hmm, and I start watching them when I start like reciting the words back and I'm like, how do I remember else meal a Kunis was in this? Yeah, dude, Ali Landry was also in it at the end She was probably like 10 because she was deep nor us. Oh, I gotta watch this now, dude It was amazing, and then don't forget about Cleopatra 2099 I'm I missed that run in Marvel. Oh, dude. I would I was a nine the king of like the late night Friday night shows I'll call it 2000. Yep. There was there was FX series. There was I remember FX. Yeah, that was a great one Cuz I love the I love the Daito or Daito or whatever. Yeah, and and then Pensacola wings of gold was another one Man, I know right freebie peacock Plex Pluto. Oh wait, it's on Pluto that fucking is Shout factory Yeah ran from 66 episodes. Oh I could I could binge that Pacific blue was the USA with the guy from Top Gun. Yeah Yeah, don't forget about the other TV show that was a one one season run was Hulk Hogan and he had the Thunder Paradise oh, we need to do that for a commentary. That was a great show paradise was hilarious Like all WWE guys are all back. Yeah. Oh, what's funny is like after the pile I mean most of most after most shows after the pilot changed it up a lot. Yeah, but they did all the So stupid like the boat never fucking worked. No, they go downstairs, and it's like a fucking compound Yeah, yeah, it's like a full-on military base in this I was gonna say yeah, it's like a cigarette boat, but it's like the Anywhere the drum sequence And there's a lot of really bad TV shows out there. Oh terrible need to go back and Yeah, it was comical, but yeah, they killed like off like major characters when they got picked up for a season But and then there's ones that were like really cool. That should have lasted longer like Mantis. Yeah. Yeah That was when like Saturday nights was like an actual good night to watch TV shows don't forget about VIP Which was Pamela Anderson where she was I remember that one. Yeah, she was like a well She was a private investigator, right? Yeah And they watch nights. I never I never watched that one Like detective show and then they they got the X files became popular. So like all the stuff around all the like Yeah, it was just bad. I know I probably said on this before I'm a big silk stockings fan when I was a kid. Yeah, I did yeah Mitzi capture Rob Estes Black Widow guys Carl Johansson recently had an interview. It's her fucking problem now No, it's you know what she's basically saying is Everyone wants like her to come back and she just says, you know, she's dead and it's okay And I like that take on it from her. Yeah I do too. Yeah, I think she said she had her hero moment and then yes, yes. Mm-hmm. She just you know now you know I was up late Damn it shit. They're standing on its own. That's what you have your 2525, ma The floors love I gotta walk on something I'll do my laundry tomorrow, Mom Oh Anyway, a black widow's dead. Oh, yeah, we have a new black widow. She's doing just fine. Yeah, that's true Yeah, I like Scarlett Johansson's response to it everyone else needs to fuck off Yeah, yeah, cuz you know you have Robert Downey, Jr. coming back, but it's as dr. Doom. I think that kind of Makes the the airman death count more but as long as they stop with our DJ And don't bring back like Chris Evans is yeah He's gonna be like Captain Hydra. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. I think Andrew Garfield denied Shit on that he was gonna go home. That's true and I'm glad he did because yeah Well, I liked when they brought Chris Evans back in the Wolverine and Deadpool. Yeah. Yeah, it might be yeah That might be like another reason why he won't do it like I kind of already came back. Yeah, he's a guy I've already played that gimmick or whatever, you know, that was and that was great, but yeah, I I applied her for you know You got that black widow movie, which is kind of you know I had some things are cool. I mean we got the red um what's his face out of it red guardian. Yes So yeah, I end the new black widow no Ursa major Yeah, but yeah, I want a giant bear In my movies But yeah, everyone everyone agreed to that like she should just stay dead here. Yes I don't see why you'd need to bring her back. I'm gonna run though. Yeah, it wasn't lots of movies Yeah, and I do like the new black hair sister doesn't really good. Yeah, she's great. Yeah, she does And she was an opera diamond. Yes, she was in And I she was in that I saw that don't worry darling. 40 foot nipple. Oh Really? Yeah, oh, I'm gonna have to check that out nursing Oppenheimer. Oh, yeah Yeah, it's like 40 foot nipple on that. I'm extreme. It was beautiful. That's a big nipple fucking cried. No, beautiful Oh, I heard this is 40 foot nipple when you say There's a lot of boob so you can get from a 40 foot nipple Why do you look at me immediately? Is it because I'm doing Speaking of do we're into movies now guys. Hey man. Hey Universe, it's filming right now. So Jared leto is Skeletor. He's not gonna do the voice man He's taking his skin off for this movie. Oh, yeah, please so You're never gonna be able to hear remember Remember remember, you can't spell advertisement without between the tits And I don't see I don't see him saying you boob Is he gonna oh, yeah, is he gonna play him like cool pool? You don't know the cuz I'm sure you'll be skeleton or the disfigurement probably well That's a backstory in of itself. Yeah, like have you seen that like he was some sort of King or like a former 2000s version, but I don't know if that was like red conned or actually my problem has it's it's so history I don't know enough about the mo to Lord of Yeah, but yeah, I don't either I don't know the other video of it and I was like, huh he had skinned before all I know is I can't really I don't really like Jared leto much these days no, I I just read I don't know if it's true But I just read something like supposedly he's got like some kind of cult where he he goes overseas and Like would not surprise me to have sex with him. I don't know it looks like he combs his eyebrows Hey frothy dust like they're crammed, but it looks like he combs on no He's high maintenance is fuck you can tell oh, yeah, and he never like changed looks like he farts in the sand I'm small big you know gripes with people they have a certain look like you never even had the you can't tell He's John Wick or he's in a different movie. You know, yeah, I was like change up a little bit when he When he did the newest matrix. Yeah, I like do like you look out of bed and you know Well, I think we've become so So tuned to John Wick though. I mean yeah when he shaves his face. It still looks like John Wick That's the problem is like he's become synonymous with John Wick that we've just kind of gone. Oh, okay, it'd be like Christian Bale in a suit saying he's something other than Patrick Bateman I mean even when we watched Bruce Wayne. Yeah, like Bruce Wayne I worked like a couple of lines where he's just like well, I now own the hotel. I was like, yeah, that's Patrick Bateman Yeah, yeah, it's it's gonna kill those chicks sweet. You like Do you like jazz a little too new wave? But yeah judging off the stills here by a scene stills looks like he's on earth Yeah, so I don't know well because you know the original movie. He came to earth, right? Yeah, I was like no budget. Yeah, I was stupid. So it's like let's go to Los Angeles. Oh, they're gonna CGI the tiger Okay, they're gonna get real one MGM style. Yeah, yeah, that was like a saber to tiger. Yeah They're gonna put fake teeth on the tiger now. They can bring it back from extinction. Yeah, I would love to see that Yeah, they do it for movies. I mean they've carried out any else viable DNA from they were tooth like in the tundra and stuff It's not that for him. Yeah, right, you know from being removed John Hammond when we need him John Harvey I I don't see a casting on here for Erco, but I'm calling it right now. They're gonna get aquafina Aquafina to play work. Oh, is work. Oh the little wizard. Yeah He was like he was like their version of snarf, right? Yeah, yeah, I hated those characters Oh, it was it seemed with you don't build or on the in the original movie. Was that his name? Yeah The little I never seen the original the little world with Davis guy that was like 1-1. Oh, I can't remember it. See it's been so long. Yeah 87 that's when I came out. I remember seeing that movie that he was who played Skeletor back then who was Frank and Jell-a Yep, really fucking dope. You know, he did it. Dude. That's badass. You didn't impress his son That's the only reason why he did it. He didn't care about the script. I mean, yeah, he didn't really he just signed on He didn't even he was awesome He would when a seven-year-old Jonah was scared of that Skeletor did you stay tuned to the end because I actually had an after credit scene which most some movies from our childhood Didn't have that Courtney Cox in that. Yeah. Yeah, was that our first movie or no? Maybe it would have been yeah, that was first of my never seen right But yeah, this is coming out June 5th 2020 yeah 2026 so we liked it. You like to still photo of the him and the sword. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, the actors are right I mean, I don't like him coming to earth though. Yeah, that worries me. It's like didn't we already do that last time like okay? I mean, I don't there's enough Successful fantasy movies that we could have it set in a fantasy world and it would be just fine Also, I like I like when he's Prince Adam. I like the idea like he's more scrawny, you know, and then bulky Hello, Henry Family guy oh Memory holds up the sword and they got to do the voice right to the I have the power The sword I have the power Can't be some weak sound, you know, yes, I've got the power guys My question is what is Jared Leto going to do? One to his cast members and two to get in character for this. Oh, yeah, cuz he's a shit. Yeah I'm shocked. He's not canceled already. He did. I mean, he did become a vampire to play Morbius That really did you the phrase. It's more of an time Any more dollar James Bond news guys, we all fans here You know, I don't understand the power grab from Amazon to get that whole thing and I get it that he didn't like Barbara broccoli Um, I don't know where they were headed with it though before they they got bought out. Well, yeah So yeah, they were so yeah, MGM Amazon MGM Studios Bought out Eon for control of the James Bond franchise because you know after Daniel Craig They just didn't really have I think the momentum to go on. You know, they're all Older now and yeah, they kind of they've done so much But yeah, Amazon was basically like so they they became partners because of this buyout that initially was Amazon buying MGM so they they took they got become they became instant partners of the Unfranchise basically so they were like they would throw a bunch of ideas at the Eon productions And they just shot it down like they I think they wanted a money penny spin-off and a female 007 Which they kind of played with with the last movie. I actually like how they did that in the last I didn't know I didn't know he wasn't because he was dead. So it's like, okay, that's cool And I liked how they kept like playing off the fact that he you know, he's like I'm 007. She's like I'm double My my main concern though is the track record that Amazon has so far They took over the Lord of the Rings. Oh, yeah, and I haven't seen it so I can't I can't say but it hasn't been well received Oh that new TV show that they're yeah, and that's that's the only thing that they have to the Time I think is another one that I don't know. I think it's been a hit or miss. I've not seen any of those It's not to say it. It probably won't work It's just I have apprehension because that is a hell of a name to take on Yeah, and you're gonna have to put people in place that have production knowledge that Are very well versed in the whole series the yeah, I mean you can't go changing things overnight on this, right? Yeah, I think it's gonna be I mean you've got a fan base that goes back years Well, yeah, Eon crafted this from the start like back in 62 and they produce 25 Bond films and so yeah I mean, they're obviously hit and misses, but it was always I think treated with a lot of respect and Yeah, with the Amazon buyout. It's very easy. I think for them to be like let's make this like a MCU You know versus films and I think that's definitely Eon did not want to do that and that was another following out Yeah, Barbara Barbara broccoli Basically said in an article that the Amazon execs were fucking idiots So when Bezos got word of this yeah, it's like I don't care how much it's gonna take we're gonna buy her out Let's just buy her out so for one billion. They bought they bought them out I was just how they gained control the bond franchise and I think it's it. I think they'll It's like good and bad like the good is I think we'll finally get another bond soon. But the bad is like yeah You know, it's always these films are always been about balance and they either go to the extreme or they get very serious It's always about balancing and I don't know if Amazon can do that especially with like the CG quality like I got the money to do it The problem is got high the way people you get a high the right people and and what I liked about the Craig version So much is that it was down to earth and practical. I mean, they didn't they didn't make it like a Pierce Brosnan He didn't like she was out of his watch Yeah, like it was more like this guy that you know kind of got thrust into it and then had to figure things out And I they kind of introduced characters slowly so like and you know going away and stuff like that Then they had Q come in. I think that was what the third movie when they had Q Yeah, I mean they really did and took their time with it They you know, they tried something new, but I think they deconstructed them too much And I think you know when you see a Bond movie you want escapism and the casino reality was it was a really good film That's a pun of love this one he got after that. I think very mopey and just not Uncharacteristic like you know, yeah, it was like I mean cuz even like Skyfall. I think it was probably one of my favorites Yeah, but he was so like but he quit he got shot and he yeah He was so like again like you said mopey. Yeah, what was me. Yeah, there was no drive anymore inspector I mean they all were the same they they all looked great specter is the only one I don't even think I ever watched all the way through so I just got bored with it Yeah, I mean it just it wasted opportunity and then they tried to like basically connect everything together I didn't like that either. One of the things I liked about the old Bond movies is just how disconnected they were Yeah, so like it could be dr. No, or Thunderbolt. It even could have been your first James Bond movie Yeah, and you would have but you watch quantum a quantum a solace, but you've never seen Casino around you fucking idea. What's that was the first direct sequel to a bond movie ever? And even even spec they were all connected in some way and I think that was a mistake was to try and connect them like that Yeah, I think they worked better and I got be honest. I've only read maybe a bond novel Yeah, so I couldn't tell you if they're all connected or if they're all independent or that's the beauty The only thing that is connected is that he's James Bond. Yeah. Yeah, that's it into the bond novels you mean or yeah, I mean there was never I mean the only carryovers were money penny M and Q and that was it. I mean Felix was Felix and not novels Felix Lister I don't know Felix was definitely in the originals. He was played by White guy and I can't remember who he ended up getting played by Jeffery Wright Jeffery Wright who's great remake Yeah, I didn't like what they did to him at the very end. They're unceremoniously just killed off. Yeah Yeah, it's kind of weird history because they've recast Felix a lot in the movies I wasn't the Because I when I first started like paying attention to like Felix or I was like, oh, Felix lighter is really cool And then I watched a license to kill. It's eaten by a shark Eat by a shark and then wrapped up and laid on a couch and I was like, oh, this is brutal But that's the beauty of what they could do with like going forward with stories like you could go back and actually Most of the movies deviated a lot from the books. Oh, yeah So you could definitely like and yeah, there's a lot of things in those books. They're very like, you know Maybe that's what made Austin Powers so good though. You never you know, they never carried anything over except for number You know mini me mini me and and what what's his face? I can't even think of it right now Dr. Evil. Yeah, and then they always had a new guy like fat bastard or they had the gold gold guy or yeah Yep, gold number. Yeah, and that was If they would have kept going with those I think Ion told Myers or whoever produced those films that that would be the last time they would copy like a bond name like that So basically they would have made another yeah, because it was very on the nose and yeah Basically Mike Myers did a parody of Bond in a way, but yeah, that was the idea They stole from the bond films was yeah, he'd have another lady each film actually doctor no and From Russia with love they did have a carryover lady So they would get killed off or they become evil in some way. Yeah, well no this one this one never was But you never saw her again, but yeah, so I mean they you know just a little history here the Ion Yeah, like I said Ion produced all these films from the inception based off of Ian Fleming's books They were like two to three years apart. It was really nice Growing up and then obviously you had gaps between Daltans run and Brosnan's and then Craig's Craig got high in demand And so that that was that's a bad thing is like a lot of people say Henry Cavill, which I I agree, but he is hiding demand too, and you're gonna get a movie like every five years unless he signs for like a multi-picture deal Yeah, but can you imagine though like a stacked bond? Like it would seem a little weird it needs to be well Craig was the first to be kind of be that way. Yeah But yeah, well Craig was pretty slight. I would say he was leaving us frozen though Yeah, but George Lasenby was pretty oh, yeah, it's movies underrated and he was that's a good bond movie You know what it's one I didn't appreciate as a kid, but as an adult. I like it a lot better Oh, I've ever seen a store scene like who the fuck's this guy? Yeah, you know, it's like But yeah, so like eon from its inception Albert cubby broccoli produced from 62 to 95 he died in 96 and actually his family brought broccoli to the United States So really that's how you get the name broccoli Harry Sultan also produced What is that real is that it's true? Okay, it's true and the broccoli haircut. Yeah All right, it's hard. It's um Sure what I say cuz I've always said their name is like brocoli like Better yeah, but no, I'm gonna start calling the vegetable brocoli Brocoli with milk they actually no way they actually brought broccoli. Yeah, his family brought it to you That delicious green thing that you put a lot of cheddar cheese on yeah Did they call it broccoli where they brought it from or did we call it? They caught they got I think they got to name it cuz they discovered it they brought it to the United States I don't believe you I'm just curious. Yeah, no, it's like when you find a meter you get to name it Whatever the fuck you want so so you're saying broccoli comes from outer space. Well, no no That was a different type of comparison the space McGuffin. Yeah Are we taking a Wikipedia break? Okay, no no no no broccoli seeds were introduced into America by the most By Thomas Jefferson genus, Bresica. Are you sure? I mean, that's what dr. Google says so wrong. I Don't know I swear. I like it. I like what you said. I mean cut out what I say and just leave it in there No, no do my research. Let's leave all of this in cuz it's gold podcast and gold No, what was his name on today's episode cubby cubby Albert. Oh Albert Albert, brocoli The word broccoli first used in the 17th century comes from the Italian plural of broccolo which means the flowering crest of a cabbage and Is the diminutive form of brocco meaning small nail or sprout? Oh? Boy fucking sources Josh guys true did Albert brocoli invent broccoli? No, Albert brocoli did not invent broccoli and while the brocoli family known for producing James Bond films claims their ancestors Developed the modern for broccoli by croc crossing cauliflower and a Raven the fuck's a rape. All right, hold on. I'll go down I'll do something you're not allowed to do the vegetable self originated in the Mediterranean region and has been cultivated for centuries The family story is contested by many so they might claim What is that kale? That's like a cross bit. I mean, there's there's a lot of lettuce leaf No, anyway, very little see the family claims. They did but they're full of shit. I got it from the documentary. So no I don't say like to me And I mean they can claim it I guess cuz she does have like a billion dollars more than me now after getting bought out by Amazon Hey, I'll look I'll look into it. I will I will definitely put up something saying I'm wrong If you produce like all 3500 bond films you can call broccoli whatever the fuck you want But yeah, Henry Harry Salzman he produced along with Cubby for from 62 to 75 He sold his steak and then Barbara broccoli and her half-brother Michael G. Wilson they produce since the 70s. So they were the ones in charge before this buyout went through But yeah, Timothy Dalton who was born from 87 to 89 He was also almost in the George ladies and bean movie, but he was too young at the time They actually eyed him, but they're like, yeah, he's too young I think that's I think you have to go with the young if you want to get a good six seven movies out of a James Bond You got to go young. Yeah, 20s though. Oh, absolutely Yeah, that was the mistake with Dan Craig because they wanted to kind of the origin film, but he was at that time already 50 He was already 50. Well, no, I don't know. I don't think he's already 50 then that's impressive He was he was pushing it. He was like in his 40s. I know he was Yeah How old was Dan Craig we're gonna have to play it is now because I do us about broccoli Fucker your favorite vegetable. It is actually Fucking lied to me gross No, they lied to all of us how 38 years old. All right. He was 38 when he played James Bond first I'm already older than Daniel Daniel when he played James So I was wrong about that, but I still think you got to go younger than 38 George Lazarby was 30. Yep. Yep. That's better. Yeah. Now. Let's dial it down. Let's go like 25 I'd say start at 25. Yeah, like what kind of like you know, like that Taron Edgerton's and when he played in The Kingsman type. Yeah, yeah See, I don't I don't want if with Amazon with these Bond films I want it to be over like the mission of possible ones now, but obviously with bonds in tow I think that's a lot better than it's that's nice balance to me I don't want them to get to Kingsman ridiculous levels, you know, no But Kingsman is put on its own the problem though that I have with Amazon Being involved is I don't see them using all their money to make it better. Right. I see them Pushing it out there to try and make money. I think they're gonna. But I think they've got the idea my fear I think they've got the ability to do some things really well Like oh, I do too as an example the Jack Ryan stuff. Yeah, it's fall out them too Yeah, it's on Amazon prime, but right there. I think they produce it. Oh, I think so the boys - yeah Yeah, so there's some things that they do really do really well. They've done the Lord of the Rings thing That's the one that I know that they spent the most on money, right? But film wise, they don't have a good track record. I don't think yeah, Timothy Dalton to go back to Timothy Dalton Yeah, he was saddened and concerned about the news very surprised and shocked He said it's one of the best pieces of British entertainment It's a fine series. He watched him, you know when he was young and Yeah, huge part of all our lives and he just said, you know, Barbara is like fantastic Best in the world and just has respect and relation to the Eon family and which is him the best and then Brosnan He was actually the first bond. I think to be fired. No, Laysin being I think was the first one to be fired. Yeah Yeah, because he didn't Laysin being gotten to the hippie craze and grew his hair long and beard and he didn't he wanted I think he wasn't gonna shave it. No. Yeah, he didn't want to be that type of suave guy Which that is bananas to me to like turn down a roll in a like a franchise He got obsessed with this guru guy and he just basically like said did what he said There was this one movie he ever did and he never did another movie after that He was yeah, and he lied his way to the top Oh, yeah, he was just a model Yeah, that was it but he and he actually kicked ass in real life like he was in lots of bar fights So I think he actually punched some stuntmen and by accident. Oh, probably a little too hard. Those fight scenes was fucking awesome Yeah, they don't yeah, they hold up pretty well, but Pierce Brosnan. Yeah, he said I he on had great courage to sell it to Amazon I hope Amazon handles the franchise was digging the imagination and respect He's very proud of the history and legacy of Bond and you know the films that he made with them. The deal will come with certain Lament some talent are no longer interested. Probably they don't want to work with Bezos or Amazon I don't know. I mean, you know, it's like anything the right amount of money will bring people back Yeah, the only thing I don't want to see is like James Bond become this like ultra weird guy where he's like Can I touch you and then Right, and then has relations with the woman or I don't want his wife. I don't want to be those I don't want my bond asking for consent. No bond doesn't ask for consent. He just takes it The ass I wouldn't mind seeing like Brosnan come back as like a new M or something. Oh, yeah, cool I've seen someone just did like some photos with him by Aston Martin, and it looks so cool. He's just like a veteran bond looking just leaning up against it He's one guy that's aged extremely well. Oh, yeah better than all the bonds really Yeah, I'd say and I wish she could have had one more film, but I think his films got so Well, it wasn't his fault. They got camping in 9/11 happened and then there was a tunnel shift and in the world Yeah, but the mark Campbell ones. Yeah, Golden Eye Golden Eye first and then and then it devolved it devolves to Merry Christmas Played by Denise Richards who is a trained and your physicist Yeah, tomorrow night of guys really honored the whole bond world and then after that Yeah, oh the third one kind of got a little bit more serious And yeah, but they had the weird names and then he had died another day was just have Sean Bean come back and be him That'd be cool. Yeah, I mean, yeah, you could totally go six. I think I'll die another What about Billy Irish or whatever super name is Her song was good, but it was fucking mopey. Just like Craig's run which one was that Well her music is just definitely it's unique she's talented, but for a bond song like let's get into this movie Like why would I've always had right here is that she can actually sing. Yeah, but she doesn't want To she doesn't project no at all. Yeah, it's like if I were to if I were to take this microphone to move it this far away And now try to say something. Yeah, no, I think you should that's a good idea What's a Billy Eilish song? Oh Yeah, that was like an ever again trailer for like ten years. Oh the one from bright burn Yeah, okay, it's why they mean that movie. Yeah, the bad guy sure cartoon movie. Yeah, the first one heard that song is at the end of Bright Bird. I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, but yeah I think that's awesome for peers to be kind to them because yeah He got he got let go and again It wasn't his fault his movie that last movie was bad. He made was that was the Hallie Berry that the last one? Okay, they're gonna do a jinx spin-off back then she won the Oscar after that But that's why if you're now like fuck, we're gonna get a jinx spin Did she win the Oscar for monsters ball? Yeah, yeah, yeah, but not swordfish. No. No. No, she showed more She should have all yeah, and you also got the phrase make me feel good That was a clip they played Congratulations, that would be you know, they're showing like the clips for the Oscar potential. Oh God make me feel good You know, I just fast-forward to the future in memoriam. That's a clip they play when she passes. Oh, dude Okay, so imagine this monster's ball right guess who's in prison. That's her husband Her husband and get killed Yeah, well, we're not there yet, but probably he probably slides around too easily with all that He's a slippery guy that's for sure But yeah Amazon CEO Said this is not Jeff Bezos They're aiming to take great care of this franchise bond will remain male and British Did you know back in the day? Burnt Reynolds got offered the part supposedly I can't see him during the British accent. Oh, no I don't I don't think he would have he would have done his it. Yeah, James Brolin we were talking about he actually there's an audition on One of the I think was octopus. He's DVD extras. There's an audition of him and Sam Neal Oh, it's wild because yeah, James Brolin. Yeah, he's not rocking English accent. Well neither Sam Neal. He's like no He's a New Zealander. That's right. Yeah. Well, I think it'll go back to the rules over bonds a tall slender Black-haired individual kind of suave. I mean yeah, cuz I remember when Craig got cast I mean even I was like what the fuck is a lot of people work us because he was a buddy won me over without movie cuz you know Yeah, blonde cuz he looked like a red grant. He looked like the opposite, you know opinions Do you think I don't know you think the franchise should just kind of stay dead for a bit? Where should bond go from here like remake the books adapt them properly maybe a series if it's what's your ideal bond? Movie done well, and you fuck you get somebody to make the films that has the passion for it Kind of like Favreau did for Mandalorian. Yeah, I don't know yeah I'd still love to see you to sell, bro. Take a turn out again for yeah, he gets yeah Give or talk about somebody who's pushing 50, but yeah, but yeah, I think I think you'd yourself It would have been a fantastic bond 20 years ago right the wire came out right. That's the problem Great ideas and but Kevin so could do it. He's I mean, he's probably what? Almost 40 now. Yeah, I think if you want to get if you want to get as much mileage as you can out of a bond you got to go to someone who is relatively young and Not famous that you can get yeah, yeah, yeah, and have a great uses like kind of a vehicle for yeah Connery was that way he wasn't right famous at all. Yeah, then he got pissed about not getting paid as much when it got Yeah, I love how he left and then he came back for one one more movie after yeah Oh never say never yeah, cuz ladies and bean got hippie-ish and that's why well and never say never was made by a different production studio Yeah, so yes, that is not part of the eon that was on yeah, but no So actually never say never is a remake of thunderball Yes, cuz Kevin McClory got like the rights to do that film. Yep, and it's really a complicated like mess really That's a long story. Yes, but no Connery came back and did Diamonds are forever. Yes, he was bloated Yeah, dude. He aged so much from 62 to like 69 like he looks like I don't know He just didn't age well at all just kind of an ironic title since Diamonds are forever But Sean Connery's James Bond was not no right and then come back to say and never say never yeah Yeah, but yeah, there's there's been a few other Bond films There's been two other Bond films actually did the Casino Royale back in the 60s, but it was that the Woody Allen movie Yes, but again, it was not eon. It was not eon It was done I think that was done for laughs because of it was definitely tried to be a comedy That was not good at all. Yeah, but they also did a television adaptation American version with Jimmy Bond I'm not kidding Jimmy Bond Jimmy Bond. Well, let's not forget about James Bond Jr. Oh, yeah, that's a kid I used to think hey, let's make a movie now. I'm like no, but maybe Amazon will do that. I don't know but he was a who was a lady that in The last movie and at the armist what what was her name of her character? I don't know, but she was she was a really good spin-off I mean you didn't have to call it under the bond series, but just like her own spin-off would be pretty good Oh, this has got ballerina coming out. When is that coming out that thing? No, there's a preview There's already a trailer out. It's coming. Yeah, the trailer looks pretty dope. They have filmed it Finally John Wick finally gonna be in it or yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he has a cameo. He's got a cameo in the trailer So that's not really a spoiler, right? I'll be down. Yeah, check it out But yeah, she'll probably be too busy But funny thing is they did knives out together and Craig was like hey you want to come you know Do a cameo in this Bond film and I think that's how it kind of oh no can be yeah, that's pretty cool That was a great her her action scenes were really good Yeah, like you know a lot of that story I didn't like but it's beautifully directed and yeah The action scene was amazing you start getting into it and then she had to go and you're like fuck Now Bond's crying again. God damn it. No, he's gonna blow himself up Yeah, they didn't have a real good bond girl in that last one. No You know what if you wanted him to to be declared dead in the film just cut away You know cuz the fans can be like you know what he got out of it or maybe he didn't you know Yeah, I wasn't brand those ending you know I wasn't so much of a fan the fact that his name was James Bond I because I always thought that that was just a code name that they gave in the secret service Yeah, because yeah, everyone would have to have the same backstory, you know Yeah, target the ones who had their parents killed in an avalanche and I mean yeah No, I know I there is that fan theory that only explains the different actors really you know But that the franchise overall has been kind of rebooted here and there obviously Craig's was a big reboot Like it was like let's go. Yeah. Yeah, but yeah, I don't know Do you think it should stay a film franchise and no series I wouldn't do anything no side character series you think no Because that's probably that's where I'm thinking Amazon's going well Yeah, baby who gives a shit about a money-pending series like she's a fucking receptionist like who cares if you go off of the Craig run She had a backstory as an agent, but she decided to yeah, just do that That's the problem like once you do that like try to make her character more than just a secretary You got to use her. Well, no, I mean, that's what she was before But my saying is harming secretaries all over the place. She's just a secret Josh your misogyny is showing No, but I'm saying once you have Once you introduce an action element and the actress is like a bigger actress, so it's like okay We got it. We got an include her all the time like in these shootouts and shit like money penny wasn't that way Yeah, yeah, they would flirt. That's about it. Although although though It does make sense as to why she was a desk clerk because she did shoot James Bond in the chest and then he you know Yeah, yeah went on to an island to fight the shit shot. Yeah. Yeah, right But yeah, what's your favorite bond and film if you could think of one narrow it down Casino rail. Yeah, yeah, that's a really good one. It's pretty solid Chris Cornell song. Oh, I was it Man, I was already after I saw that big fan. I like the older stuff. Yeah You only live twice Thunderball moon raker It's so weird though you watch like the old Sean Connery of ones and there's like periods where there's no music It's just him walking around hiding and a lot of stuff and you you realize how much movies have changed Like I always have to have some sort of sound back from the scenery because I think back then It's like it was our first time going and I think that's a problem with a lot of the movies now because like I It was really jarring to me when I was watching Captain America brave brave new world Because every scene's got like this like really annoying music in it. Yeah, and it was it drove me absolutely fucking nuts by the end of it Yeah, there was none of those like quiet moments. Yeah, so there's new Batman series coming in September and He's got a new costume. Oh Large like it larger bat and Sydney on the chest Jagged cape, which I think looks very cool and his utility belts got larger pouches not 1990s larger pouches Yeah, overall I really dig the new design not much on the story yet other than Matt fraction Who's gonna be writing it? He's gonna look at kind of shorter self-contained stories, which I like And yeah, I'm stoked for that one Blue like it matches the cow like that's a new thing they can do for sure because you know I I love the bullseye forever and then when they went to the just the bat It took me a while to like like that and now it's like really hard not to go away from that, you know It's like a ceiling fat, but Yeah, yeah, and it's like the wings are up on it, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah the thing I like about is like blue and gray Suits. Yeah. Yeah, the color tones really cool Like in the Justice League comics. Mm-hmm. You've got everyone like Superman red and blue suit Yeah, we lantern start green on black suit. Yeah Batman black. He just kind of gets washed out. Yeah, color palette Yeah, I've always liked I don't know why I've always liked the blue and gray look. Yeah, I do too I'd love to see him do it in a movie. Yeah, I think if anyone would be guns DC I think that would be cool. I mean, you know, don't make it obnoxious, but no no I mean, that was nice. That was nice about afflicts is like we finally got a gray suit You know, I like that I like that flex suit because it really reminded me of like the dark night. Yeah returns, right? Yeah, not the movie, but the yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I like the BBS suit the most I think out of the other ones I do too because it was very like yeah The other one kind of was getting back to black. I like it a hell of a lot more than what bail suit ended up being yeah Well bail suit was born out of practicality though. I mean they were basically yeah, it worked for its time You needed that to get to afflict suit. I think to try that. You know what worked good about it Is that they made Batman work tactical? Yeah, yeah, because you do on the opposite side when you had Keaton suit He couldn't even move his head or move his body. This way his fighting was like I heard they Robots oh, yeah, I mean it was his whole body movement just to move his head When he first put it on he moved his head. I think it ripped. Oh shit Yeah, and then I think for the flash because the technology is better now They were able to make him move it and he didn't want to he's like that's not right We got it. We gotta do the whole this new look has a very Batman the animated series, but more sleek. It's not as kind of chunky It's leaker and I like that it looks really good. I mean, it's not it's changing it But not in a drastic way like that's I think it's a nice touch just to make it blue and match the couch with you Have as a black how you can have a black symbol or something like so. Yeah, I think this This is going to follow the hush to series that starts in a couple weeks You have your doubts about right. I'm not a jeff love fan The art's gonna be did you like us to start with I like tush. Yeah, hush was good and I didn't I know we talked briefly about it You know it it was a good mystery, but Whenever it's one of those things like when they entered they they tried to introduce a bunch of characters A lot of more returning characters and they introduced like these new characters You know like well, I know that guy's the fucking bad guy like I know who hush is cuz you've never seen him before And he's from Batman's past. Right, so it's kind of easy to put to do together with that But I mean it was a good story and the art was was gorgeous the this one I'm not I'll probably get it in trade if anything. I'm not gonna get the single issues The first one though Batman so it starts with Batman 158 which comes out in like two weeks And I think DC said they've already like pre-sold like 400,000 copies So it's gonna be is like as big if not bigger than absolute Batman was for DC last year. Yeah, that's cool Yeah, it does look good I've seen a couple pages and yeah, and then we do have the other only other thing is In what April 9th, there's a new amazing spider-man number one launching Which is not as big of a deal because I think the Batman itself. He's only had a couple of Launches like new number one's since his inception, you know fucking seems like a music spider-man reboots like every reboot Yeah, that reboots quite a bit and I think it's still amazing. No, it's been so shitty for so long and so they kind of lost me with spider boy I was like that's one of the biggest issues. I have a spider-man is you've got so many derivatives of him out there now There's seven your son Ben Spider-boy, I couldn't even tell you there's like seven Spider-man comics out there now You've got years back spider-boy. You've got the miles morale of spider-man He's still hanging around the six one six now, right? You got the Peter Parker spider eat which the storyline that they're dragging him through right now is kind of garbage I don't really think that he's been good since superior spider-man I don't remember that that was when dr. Octopus inhabited I was like a doctor octopus personality. I haven't Peter Parker's bottle like that. That was a cool story I was like that's kind of a dumb concept and then I started reading at the time, right? I mean, I think it and I think people may have been doubting it at first because it's kind of a dumb concept Like you said but the story itself was actually good. It was compared to what's come since. Yeah, especially when he like It's a really good because of like how auto grows more As a character because like yeah, there's one panel where you like literally punches somebody's jaw off Cuz he doesn't realize how much oh, yeah, it's back right. Yeah, and yeah, it's like Superman high-fiving somebody Yeah, well, yeah, it'd be like if let you know, yeah, you could compare that to like Lex Luthor taking over. Oh, yeah Superman's mine. You'd probably like right, you know Turn around on time cause a fucking earthquake or something like that the first time you went to land So I'm looking I'm looking forward to the relaunch I hope that they bring kind of I want to see him take the care back to his roots and like Yeah, they just they I don't know if Marvel hates Spider-man or if they hate Spider-man fans they hate somebody in this because well, it's one of those things too We're like they just put out so much shit In that tried spider that whole editor reboot thing with man. We could go on a bus. I know They tried that whole thing with a brand new day. Yeah, and Some things worked some things really didn't like I didn't like bringing back Harry from the dead. That was stupid brand new day Are you guys from earth brand new day? No, all right, so okay, so here's brand new day in a nutshell Marvel editorial Jokesata did not like spider-man being married. He felt that it made him too old to their teenage audience so In the story this is in story Aunt May gets shot Which she's fucking 95 years old anyway. She's gonna go She like in her 40s now. Anyway, I made her hot so Aunt May gets shot and then Peter Parker makes a deal with Mephisto who's essentially the Marvel universe version of the devil to save Aunt May and get people to forget that he was spider-manxie out of himself to the With like world during Civil War. Yeah in an exchange Mephisto wanted Peter and Mary Jane's unconditional love AKA their marriage as well and so They make they come together and make this decision Him and Mary Jane to do this and then the next issues brand new day and he's like younger. He's well He's portrayed as younger. He's single. He's back to his old shenanigans doing the day They totally undid you know 30 years or you know 20 years of spider-man character growth And fans fucking hated it hated it. I say to this day They don't like that Peter and Mary Jane are not together. I want to say it was probably The only other thing that the the only thing the spider-man fans hated more was the clone saga Yeah, yeah, and that was bad for different reasons. That was not as it wasn't vice of a poor rising as brand new day was yeah, I read so I started buying spider-man comics again kind of post civil war up through I got all the brand new day stuff. I got the I think I probably started with like back in black Which was like the story right before brand new day and then I got a Or one more day. I guess was the name of the Mephisto story. Yeah, then brand new day I got all of those and I think I probably stopped maybe when it started getting like big time I just kind of like stopped reading comics all together. And so I've got probably 40 30 spider-man comics. I've like never read like just sitting in a box. They'll go back and read at some point. I'm sure but Spider-man comics today, they're just not good. I think everyone's got a spider-man story What I would like to see them do is almost like what they do with action comics where you have Different creators come in and do like hey I've got a superman story to tell so they give like four issues in action comics and it's not really connected with anything else that's going on Certainly so you can easily jump on if it's a part one of an action comic story You can buy it and not have to know anything that happened in the previous hundred years Yeah, and so it's very much like that. I would like to see him do that with spider-man Or it's like if you've got a good spider-man's ready to tell doing an amazing spider-man and because He's one of those characters. He doesn't need an introduction right like every so I hope with this new number one I don't think they're gonna do like an origin story from the The sample panels I've seen it looks kind of like it goes right into the action with the rhino who I've always been a big fan of so Right. I'm excited for it. We'll we're gonna try it out. I'm sure we'll talk about it on a future episode great Getting into gaming news Robocop rogues city which Finally got yeah, thank god Keep checking your channel. Yeah um Finally got it on sale for like eight bucks. That's great. Which is great. Wow. Yeah, just digital copy, right? Digital copy. Yeah, I don't I don't have the uh, I don't have the On the display anyway. Yeah. Yeah, um, I'm really excited for this Not only because robocop is you know, one of my favorite action movies of all time, but Um, and I haven't I have yet to play the game I have it. It's downloaded on my PlayStation. I had a few other things to catch up on sure a couple other videos that were out there then we had the Captain America review of course and ran rambling here. Are you fine? Um, so there's a dlc coming out Uh Called unfinished business. So it's a dlc pack that delivers an extra standalone story and campaign to rogue city Um It's based around a omnitower built by ocp. It's been taken over by mercenaries. So it's like a skyscraper you've got to go from like Bottom to top kind of working your way through it like progressively level leveling through it the really cool thing about it is that As you're going through you're going to get flashbacks to alix murphy before he became robo cop So you get to play as alix murphy. That's cool when he was just cop. Yeah robo, right? Um, so that so that's going to be really cool. Um first time when you'll get to Basically play as like a fully human alix murphy. Yeah, really neat. Um another quick thing there's a Uh dlc coming out for moral combat one They've added some extra characters in there like peacemaker omni man Oh, uh, homelander. They've been in there for a while. Um, they're bringing in the t 1000 Yes as a dlc character. So that'll be cool. Um, i'm not sure if robert patrick is voicing him or not Hopefully jeez. I know he I don't know if he is because rugged now. So I don't know if he is I know his voice is like change. He's a lot. He's got a lot more gruff Yeah, he's got a little bit more rasp Now it's crazy. But they didn't use so when they use the t 800 in mortal combat 10 11 no it's 11 Uh, they didn't use Arnold Schwarzenegger. They got somebody to like impersonate his voice, but they they did it spot on so Uh, they've been pretty good with that. Um indiana jones a Game i've been very excited to play for a while Um, it's been out on pc and xbox for a while now. They're bringing it over to ps5 Um So very recently, um The esrb who's the ratings board gives ratings to the Games like m t whatever it is um recently put out a rating for ps5 so It's coming which usually means it's coming soon so far the uh game indiana jones in the great circle has reached four million players which is phenomenal anyway for a kind of a dated IP but yeah, sure still an indiana Anytime i've played like Tomb Raider uncharted. Yeah, anything like that i'm like We need indiana jones game just like i thought when i was playing batman arkham We need a spider-man game like this. Yep, and now we got it Um one of the cool things about it troy baker who plays indiana jones does the voice of indiana jones in this tremendous voice actor Look if he please come to the wincon, we've got enough voice actors, but i really want one more um, he does phenomenal jobs and Even harrison ford himself has said that troy baker playing the character Um is proof that you don't need artificial intelligence to steal my soul Wow, which is kind of like a joke, but yeah, right, you know, he said that uh, does it sound a lot like him? It does doesn't sounds really good. Um troy baker does an amazing job. He can play just about anybody um, but uh He said he does a brilliant job with the character. Um, he's got Great talent to do it. So Um more to come on that when that comes out on ps5 i'll probably be playing it as well If you look him up on imdb, he's probably voiced something that you've heard him voice before Um, so yeah, he does a lot of tremendous work Another announcement that i'm very happy for Is that day's gone one of my favorite games of all time that's never gotten a sequel Is getting a remaster for playstation 5, which will be great. Um, it's kind of a open world zombie apocalypse type game Yeah, yeah, I like that game player launched. Yeah in it on a cliffhanger um I've talked about it. I did a rant video about it on my channel a while ago because They're saying oh, they're not gonna make a sequel because nobody paid full price for the original game and oh really? All this convoluted kind of crap or whatever Um This one is going to be remastered For playstation 5 if you have the original game, you can pay a $10 charge for upgrade Oh, otherwise it's going to be a full, you know, $60, $70 game probably when it comes out Um adding a couple new modes to it called Horde assault permadeath and speedrun modes Um, nice. So yeah A lot of fun. The game looks really fun. Yeah, um, so hopefully this will push Uh sony to actually work towards a sequel I'm hoping When I hear remaster, I get flashbacks to the last of us which I did not like the remaster of Oh, yeah, or the uh I know all these trends are right Well, I'm asylum. It got pretty bad too, didn't it? It did. I never really played it before what I've seen of it. It it wasn't great Um But yeah, I'm I'm excited for that. I'll I'll pay full price for A remaster of it because I love playing that game and I still play it to this day. So you get to reinvent it. It's like 4k Yeah, I love it, right? Yeah, um, so it's going to be upgraded to match, you know, of course the places and fives Performance yes load times all the good show. So that's cool I'll get one of those just in time when six comes out probably. Yeah, I know now that now they're talking about the ps5 pro and the PlayStation six. Yeah, you know And somebody's probably gonna yell once they watch this Um, I just found out today or like two days ago that the we the original we There's if you open it up on the top there's four ports for a Gamecube the mini cds. Yeah, the gamecube controllers and it will play a gamecube game Yeah, I did not know that and I had one for years and I I was like, no, that's just got to be somebody messing around with me I opened up the top. There's the controller of course serious. I didn't know this for years So now I need to go over to game stop and get a whole bunch of old gamecube games. Yeah That's where they see these size. No, there were minis so there are videos They'll go into a full size. They'll go into a full size. It'll eat it up. I watched it on on Yeah, this retro gamer was like, did you know and then everyone was like, yeah, we knew for years This was the whole point of like getting the we you For the we all right. Yeah, I had no clue. So now I'm gonna go back. I've got metal gear solid on it I want to play that. Yeah, um Because that's been upgraded graphics now. I wonder if you can get An upgrade for the we so that it'll have an HDMI cord because it was always an s video cable Yeah, there's there's an adapter. Yeah, I don't think okay I don't think it's by Nintendo by any means, but I know you can get adapters for like the yellow What is a white yellow red? Yeah, the roger Yeah, whatever they call it. Yeah, you can get an adapter. Yeah, you can because that was that was our upstairs Netflix player for years. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, could you even I know they've They've cut off the service for we for the we like the Nintendo channel or whatever. Oh, they do. Can you still connect to the internet on it? I have no clue I I have I mean, it's my my we are sitting over at my mom's because yeah, I I don't know to be honest with you um I I am so into the fact that I want to try this this uh game cube Right that I I just want to play games. I oh, yeah, I haven't Played a game. I mean, I've got like I think two game cube games and now that I know that you can do that I want to go back and just see the game. Gotta be cheap a game stop, right? Oh, they've got to um It depends on the game. If you go to the uh, jays is another great one, especially this one up the street from us Yeah, jc'd even hobby. Yeah. Yeah, okay. They've got a good selection of games up there too I would just wonder how much the controllers would be I know we made a game cube style controller. Okay. Um, that I believe is wireless I don't even want work. I just want the like the old game cube controller. Yeah Yeah, but I know they do have a game cube style controller for it. I just Yeah, no, because I'm finding one now. Yeah, it's a challenge, but see I thought I saw one on amazon for like 20 bucks or something like that So I'm sure yeah, if nothing else you can get a third party one. That'll work just the just as well Yeah, I even got like a playstation um for one back in the day like $20 cheaper than in store. Yeah. Yeah, do you still have your we Or do you have mine mine is maybe a second or third generation That was the first generation because I'm assuming that's maybe only for the first maybe I don't think so. I think I think they're all the I'm pretty sure mine The one I had could love to look yeah, I have it upstairs so I have to check it out But yeah, we're kind of late to the game on that and then by the time we got that the stupid you was coming out Well now they've got uh Coming up here in a few weeks. They're gonna be releasing the new the switch to or whatever it is Which yeah, I don't think they've come up with a name for it But it's supposed to have a larger OLED screen. Yeah and more adaptive controllers or something like that Yeah, interesting and I think they're gonna be released in a couple of games on it Uh, they they only have like a handful of games ready, but they're ready to release it. So yeah I think more and more to what I like is that you know unless it's microsoft Which is the one I was doing the Indiana Jones game. Yeah um Anymore A lot of games are becoming cross platform. Yeah, like you know multiple release on multiple platforms Yeah, unless it's a, you know mario game obviously Right, um, but yeah, I would definitely check out jays. Okay probably Yeah, you gotta check that out. That's the weirdest darn thing he flipped the lid up for ports. Really? Yeah, that's crazy Yeah, I'll check that out. I'm anxious to see that now Yeah I'm sure my factory warranty's already void on it. So yeah screw it. Yeah, so reviews recommendations Um, I think you and I both did you see the new daredevil report? I haven't seen it yet. Oh, you haven't seen yet. Okay I'm not gonna spoil or anything But yeah, there's three episodes out now in disney plus or maybe I know they initially released two episodes I'm not sure if they're doing two every time or just I think they did the normal two at the beginning and then Then each. Okay. Yeah, so three episodes be at charlie cocks. Obviously he's back and so far he's coming to demoying con this year Um saturday only may 31st. Hopefully doesn't cancel this time. I think he canceled last year for good reason Um because I think they had a reshoot issue to the show And that didn't not do not for you was supposed to be there too and he fell ill but maybe he just used as a front because Well, yeah, they go back to and either way. It's I mean, it's yeah card subject to change. Of course Yeah, kind of thought hey, I would like to uh definitely Ask me a few questions. I think it'd be fun. I trolley. It seems like a cool dude This is a deep this is deep cut, but I want him to uh to sign a uh a still from uh Stardust yeah Yeah, I didn't know it was first knew that was the first movie I knew him was it? See I went backwards. I saw him in daredevil I'm like I was just scrolling through your netflix and came across stardust. I was like, holy shit That's a young him like wow But yeah, I mean everyone's back in the show. It's it's just as dark as the netflix one um But uh, you know, I think it's not so far. I'm not feeling the same production value is there as the netflix one had Um We'll see what happens some of it feels a little cheap Um And there's some cg shots. I'm like, I don't know why we kind of did that You know, it kind of reminds me of a afflex sort of when he's oh sure like jumping on a rooftop Or off a roof rooftop and then lands and it's just the way he moves when he lands It's like do we really have to like how do you get that wrong? But yeah, there's a track shot They have just kind of like what they're known for Um, but yeah, I've only seen the first episode. I'm liking where I see so far Just again, I think the production value was better with netflix but of course The budget could have gone down because they had it basically Reshoot the whole series because supposedly it was that bad. Oh, they yeah Feige, I think saw it and he was like, no, we're gonna start. We're starting over again. If Feige thinks it's bad Yeah, it must be really bad. Yeah Definitely worth checking out, uh, you know, I haven't really tuned into any of the Disney plus shows for a very long time Um, but yeah, I tried watching echo and it took me forever to get through it. Yeah, I in a yeah, um not not not because it was Bad per se. It just was Right slow. Yeah. Yeah, that's my problem with and I said this in um Our captain america brave new world review, which is out right now and also the spoilers. Um That um Yeah, a lot of the Disney plus shows to me don't warrant a series They should have just been a film or just like a small Disney plus film, you know, if you don't want to you know, put it out theaters, but Yeah, that's just how I feel like a lot of it's just like really, you know, you talk about the early bond films it's like really Just like sloping walking around like yeah, it's like what are we doing guys? Like let's get moving and then when it yeah picks up Um again secret invasion. Holy shit. That was such a letdown. Um, it just felt like oh we're getting there We're getting there and then you know, it was just bad. I had that problem with a lot of the earlier Marvel series on disney plus I liked why it was like we yeah, I like the one division too. Um but like well like where it be like Five of us episodes of jack shit and then episode six just blew you out of the water. Yeah Um, right. It's like why why are we stretching this out? Yeah, but Yeah, Charlie Cox is daredevil perfect casting. Yeah, I can't wait to see everyone back. So yeah, it's just john bernthall Back is yep, uh punisher as well. And I think they're going to do something with him Like I don't know if he's getting lays own series or just maybe like uh, I'd love to see them do like a punisher war journal Or something like that with him. Yeah, I mean, he's he's great. I I never imagined, you know who could play the punisher Uh, I never imagined Him, you know, I liked him as an actor because I think walking dead he was popular still and but yeah when I announced that casting I was like, oh, yeah, duh, like holy shit. I didn't see that coming. He's perfect Yeah, but um that leads me to my next um recommendation. Um, I probably saw this this came out like years ago the accountant Is anyone seeing that? Oh the Ben Affleck movie. Yeah, he I've never seen it. Uh, I heard it's really good though Baron thaw yeah, I uh, I had to get on seen it quickly because they have a trailer out for the second one already And so I was like shit. I better just go see this thing because I've been told Many times, you know, it's good and all that so definitely worth the watch. It's on hbomax right now Um, but yeah, I'm I'm ready for the sequel. It looks great and the sequel's coming out April 25th. I did recently watch I think it came out not too long ago if i'm not mistaken recently watched depth he heard On okay Netflix. Oh, yeah, that's a good one. Um, it is a good one. It Gives you a good perspective of both sides of the story. Yeah, whichever side of that, right? Whole thing you uh, you fall on when when that whole trial was going on. Of course, I know we talked about it Um, I didn't watch really any of the trial. No, I saw it. I saw like, yeah snippets of it But yeah, it's it's a good good one to watch Um, actually just got turned on to this. Uh, it's called the pit. Uh, it's an hbo Um tv show and what is really cool about it is is that um, was done and written and directed, uh, partially by Um, no a while. Um, and basically what it does is it follows. I don't know Hopefully you guys haven't been to the hospital lately. Um, but But uh, once they once they admit you into the kind of the waiting room area Then they take you up into your own room and all that stuff But what this does it follows along from kind of the the entry of the of the hospital ward to like this waiting room area And it's all shot in one area in one location. Oh, and so it's it starts It's not like a different day every episode It's ours. So each episode is an hour. So you start. Oh nice. 7 a.m And the series it's only one season so far. It just started the season ends at like seven o'clock at night So there's okay. It's like a full day kind of like 24 sort of kind of yeah Yeah And and you basically follow this uh because no while is the attending physician and then you have these other doctors That are like, uh, texts and all that stuff getting their their degree and all that And you follow them around to like each each, uh, episode has like somebody that's coming in for something different um It's just really high intense stuff and they complain about, you know, the fact that uh, there's not enough staff There's not enough rooms the stuff that we're all complaining about nowadays and it's like well You need to get your your customer service ratings up. Otherwise, we can't hire more people and you're like well We can't get them up if we can't get more people, you know And it's it's really good and intense and I came into it like at 11 o'clock in the in the show Yeah, and I ended up staying up way later than I anticipated and got to like two two in the afternoon And it follows these people around you kind of get a little backstory on them and all that but it's cool Really really good. Nice. Yeah, I like a knockoff of VR kind of Not all I both love that and hate that about a series, especially if it's One where there's like multiple seasons of it or like multiple episodes Like because I'll get engrossed into something next thing. I know it's two o'clock in the morning I'm like, oh, I got work tomorrow. Yep. I did that with walking dead the first time. I was like, oh shit Yeah, but it's just it's so cool because it's not it's it kind of reminds me of like the breakfast club Right, it's only one location. Yeah, and so you don't need a whole lot of Right back story. You just need the backstory of who's there and why they're there and that's really cool That they're having stuff. I'll check that out. Yeah, it's really good. What uh, what's streaming service? HBO max HBO max. Okay, that's cool because like a season two you have new characters But you also have returning characters. You know if they have like come back for a Recheck or whatever. Yeah, you do all kinds of things with yeah There's like a lady that's pregnant. There's a new a couple attending physicians and stuff And they sometimes they'll release some of the patience. They'll be fine Then a new one will come in and all that stuff and yeah, that's cool Do you know if it's uh been greenlit for season two? I would assume so it's got not trying to put you on a spot No, no, no, it sounds like they would have a plan to keep going. I mean, it just came out Um this year Yeah, Jonah was talking about that before we recorded that show Um, and I I was telling both the Jonah and bill at the I think the john kryton is a state Yeah, suing that show the creators of that show because they were claiming it was Ripping off a yard. Basically. Yeah, um, but yeah from what it sounds like it's not really a rip off from your heart It's just it's kind of a new thing. I love when they take something like that. They like make a new Concept of right because it's been done to death like you know, like, you know, my kids love uh greys anatomy Yeah, that's been on forever. I'm like er started a lot of this shit You know and I know before that we had other hospital. Well, that's the thing like I I love Yeah, I've always liked kind of liked shows about that too. Like to er was good. Um, I never really got degrees anatomy. Um Chicago Med. Oh, yeah, I think it was kind of like fire all it. Yeah, I got got into those. Is it really cool? Yeah, so the pit was renewed for a second season on February 14th, 2025. Oh cool. Oh cool. So yeah, I would I don't know how they're gonna be able to do it It's so unique in the fact that like every episode is an hour within the day Like would the next season be day two day two? I don't know because eventually they're gonna age Yeah, like how do you have eight seasons of it with eight days only it'd be interesting to have them do a like do a season where there's like a Some sort of disaster or something like that. Like there's multiple. Yeah emergency is coming in at once. Yeah, sure Yeah, that reminds me like how bad it could get like Major league and major league two took place like seven years apart, but it was the next season. Yeah. Yeah, it's terrible Like, oh my god. That's very very clearly aged. Bob you heard in though. No, no, he never did man No, he always had that nice leathery skin. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah To the voice. Oh man. Just a bit outside Mr. Belvedere There's so many like I don't know mr. Belvedere must have hit a streaming service or something like that Because all of a sudden these memes start popping up all over the place. Yeah, there's that one where he tells mr. Belvedere that he cheated on test So then he calls the immigration service and he's like, well, if you're ever in England stop by You're like the curve your enthusiasm song at the Oh, it's funny. Well, yeah Throw some plugs out there and we're out. So number one comics weekly series hosted by Jonah Co-hosted by myself Jonah who's he's here in spirit Um, I was cut out here. Yeah, I will so cover Cover number one issues of comics So weekly release we usually try to get it out Wednesdays ish Yeah But yeah, it's been a lot of fun. We've got uh Covered quite a bit so far. I think we got episode 20. Wow already. That's you guys are moving grew and yeah and it's been a lot of fun to do because Jonah's our comic guru. Yeah on the show. I would say as well. Yeah, I mean, but my Yeah, this is like constant mine. Why am I like in the good 90s? Yeah, so and I'm getting to read a lot of stuff. I've never read before a lot of stuff that I've That I have read before, you know And I as the editor get to experience all these properties because like a lot of them Like I'm learning all these new characters. Oh, yeah, never heard. So it's really cool. It's like a crash course and It's fun. It's a lot of fun. Yeah, but yeah, you will never run out of content. That's for sure. Yeah. Yeah then of course uh theme song for number one comics podcast as well as the theme song for this show field of geeks Yeah, uh done by the very talented Raven Xavier Um, you can find him on youtube at ravex music you can also find hint find all of his music and podcast episodes on ravex music bandcamp.com Just put out a podcast episode recently called canceled I want to check that out very good episode. I highly recommend that along with any of the episodes he's put out there very good. Um, also check out choose your power great band you've never heard of And uh, yeah, that's great. Yeah, uh, yeah field of geeks. Obviously we're Everywhere you can find us on social media You won't find us on tick tock because case the anthony's on tick tock and we don't want anything to do with that bitch Oh, no, but we are on tick tock Are we on tick tock? We are are we yeah, okay? I should have down scratch that. Just don't follow her Right Guys or do I mean, you know, she's innocent guys She's committed. Hey, it's just like oj over times, you know, she didn't do it Yeah, I don't know. I don't I can't not believe she gets that platform, but whatever. Um, but yeah, we're on all social media youtube Um Everywhere you podcast we're there. We offer a variety of shows not just this news related show, but we have movie commentary interviews Um Supernatural shows Do one on star track and yes number one comics, obviously Um, so yeah, something I was not aware of until you brought it up recently. We're hitting our 10 year anniversary Yeah, wow, that's crazy june. I think if we do that we need to have beers like we did the last the first time Yeah Go to your kitchen table Oh, wow, i'll get the one mic. Oh, yeah, yeah Yeah, I know I really want to uh try to do a best of like thankfully when i'm doing these these clips and even like the um The reels or the tiktoks. It's kind of the best of so i'm able to like maybe I could spice those together in one thing, but yeah Yeah, I would love to go through there's so much to go through. We need to do something big. Yeah, especially uh Des Moines con coming up in yeah, gonna be may 30 30 31st and june 1st. Yes. Yeah, yeah, uh So we'll have a table out there. We'll also uh our friends from scaldstone productions will be out there. Sure Um, hopefully we'll have a good Turn out of podcasters like we did last year. Yeah, no, it was a lot of fun a lot of fun and uh, yeah Um, definitely get start planning on that, but yeah, um for this 10th year Definitely need to set some plans in motion. Um, and you get need to bring back the commentaries do some of those We got a few lined up so it's got to get it done. But yeah, it's been a while when was the last uh super unknown episode you guys did Oh, it's been a while it was uh say I think last year it was like october and say super unknown and uh Mission reporter. We haven't done one of those right. Yep. I know I need to bring those both back. So yeah, definitely got to do that And uh, what are we watching is coming in 2020 Six yeah, I think I even sit on the show like before the years up. We're gonna have an episode Sorry, that's all right. That's all right. We got we got plenty of things to keep us busy Yes, but yeah, there are a variety of content out there tons of content you will uh Probably weeks worth the content honestly, um probably more but yeah check it out. Thanks for tuning in and uh, we will be back I'm josh. I'm bill. I'm mich. Take you I You Hey Well, it's like the secret service agent that was really short It just it threw me off Yeah, which we talked about her and like one of the comics we just we just talked about and I mean she was awesome But she flipped between like a badass and like a bad person and then all of a sudden first one It looked like the it looked like the fucking kid from uh the ring. Yeah on a female body I didn't like it at all. That was horrible casting for On a plus side if you ever do a yoda origin story she could play yoda without any CG That was a distraction and I felt bad But to myself, I was like is linda hunt in this film. Do you remember linda hunt? Yeah, the Superintendent and kindergarten cop. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah Shit, how was she gonna take down anybody because isn't she like a a uh xkgb or something like that? Yeah, she was like, well, they didn't explore that She mentioned that she was part of the widow program that she was an ex blake. They cut out a lot of her like nationality and background Yeah, because she's like a mutant from Israel who was like a member of like monsad. Yeah. Yeah, but in this she was just like an ex black widow I thought she was terribly miscast. Yeah, um, anyway, not to go down that right. Well It was just it was one of those things where it was just the wrong choice and poorly written character Real quick about captain america and we don't have to talk a lot about it, but um I wanted my expectations going to the movie were relatively low Which helped me enjoy it more than I think I probably would have otherwise I liked the bigger action sequences like the battle with the red Hulk at the end was very cool The dog fight sequences dog fight was my favorite one the closer up action sequences I didn't like I didn't like the the editing of them or the way that they were cut And then I also didn't like with a lot of the cutscenes how there was never time to let a scene percolate Right you were never like so there was one scene in particular where someone's it might even be captain america or it's like Sitting on a bench and someone comes up behind him And it's like boom they're right there as soon as the scene opens up there like right behind him There's no like we're gonna open up on captain america. We're gonna pan this you know cameras panning up as someone's approaching him slowly Yeah, it was very fast that way and I didn't like that I want to say the uh just the consensus I got from our Reviews and stuff like that. They're out there. I think the overall consensus is like Better than we thought it was going to be or pleasantly surprised. Have you seen it, Mitch? Yeah, I don't want to like spoil. No, no, you're good I went in with zero expectations and came out actually kind of surprise day It's a good saturday morning show where you can just pop it on and you know, it's right related Yeah, um, I don't quite get the whole let's bring bucky in for one scene Yeah, like that I'm pretty sure and that and it there was only one where I could definitely tell it was a reshoot And it was uh when he was talking to um the red Hulk And it was like a cgi background. Yeah trying to talk him down Um It wasn't that for that many reshoots for the fact they went through that many different names for captain america Yeah, I mean new world order was one that they went with and then yeah, the bravely world title doesn't really make a lot of sense No, no, there's there's and They they really didn't go too much. I mean the bad guy was pretty decent But I liked uh the falcon the guy who's playing falcon now Yeah, that yeah, I thought he was Yeah, he was really good. Even though the short lady kind of threw us all for a loop. I thought She was actually she's got some potential to be in other movies. I think and yeah her acting is good enough But they just need better writers for yeah. No, I didn't I didn't like her at all cut her I was really surprised with lumbly uh carol lumbly that played. Yeah, uh kind of the old, you know, korean era captain america Oh, yeah, that was awesome. He was really good in that one. He was my favorite part of falcon in the last soldier. Yep Yeah, and I you know it's funny because You can't unlike social media. You can't say anything bad about this movie without people being like, uh, you don't like it because captain america's black I love anthony mecky's captain america. I think he's a fantastic captain america. I think the there's so many other things wrong about this movie though Yeah, I think as many criticisms as i've seen against the movie itself like Nerdrotic who has some pretty hot takes on a lot of things. Yeah, did like a whole thing discrediting it and Most of the stuff that i've seen just like scrolling through youtube When you know after I went and saw it was You know, of course because your friend listens to you and big brother is always watching Um Everything I saw was like bad bad worst movie ever made blah, blah, blah and they they based that a lot off of the implied like political shit in it and in the fact that it's the lowest rated Uh marvel movie of all time Is it I want to say ninth Because it's at the at the time at the time that I did my review. I was one thing that I thought was very interesting All that stuff was one thing that I thought was interesting about this movie that I was not expecting at all Is how many callbacks and this was almost a Incredible Hulk sequel. Yeah with all the callbacks to the eternal sort of two But they spent so many years trying to forget that that incredible hulk movie even happened Yeah, and that edward dorn was never the incredible hulk It seemed like they spent so much time trying to like get that out of people's memories that then they like Bringing that to the forefront like oh, yeah Hey, remember this remember this movie and I wish they would have gone farther with the appearance of the leader uh the bat yeah, because he was creepy looking but the In the comic books. He's almost like reptilian looking. He's like a big green head and yeah He's very uh, he looks very cool. Well, he saw the concept art in you for him Um Like a big head still but he had hair up there and he had a goatee and you wore like a trench coat The leader had a goatee. So that would make sense. Yeah, they reached out so many times I can see them changing that look it was it was kind of like what they did with the Mandarin before shang chi. Oh, yeah, um, yeah, you know the Mandarin had like a very You know striking look in the comics, but Right. Yeah, they should have got it farther with that. I mean, but all in all I enjoyed it. Like I said said in the morning I'm sure I'll watch it again. Sure. Yeah, it hits disney plus or whatever We are reviews out there too and also the spoiler review. So they definitely check that out
