The tenses used to describe the grace of God and our standing in it is a perfect tense in the Greek language which basically means “an event that occurs once but have a lifetime ramification”

What we have in Jesus is not something we can lose.

Your standing in Christ – His grace and favour is permanent.

So here we see that our past is justified, our present moments are favoured and our future is filled with the hope (the confident expectation of good) to enjoy the glory or reality of God.
