Ryan Schmelz joins us now, our Fox correspondent in Washington, D.C., is Congress getting ready to take a little break. Actually, it's kind of a big break. Isn't it, Ryan? Welcome in. Yeah, an entire month-long recess. I mean, the country's on fire right now, and Congress is going home to, you know, have a Peña Colaudan getting their toes in the sand, I guess. But hey, look, you know what? They work hard. They deserve some time off, I don't know about the entire month, but that's what they get. So there they go. After yesterday, House Republicans kind of got things moving with a vote on a resolution to condemn Biden on his handling, along with Kamala Harris. Yeah, you remember her, the czar, right? It's so funny, too, when I get your thoughts on how the immediate is jumping on support for Kamala and saying, look, you know, trying to separate her, you know, from this debacle of the border from Joe Biden. But you know, this whole thing, she was never the czar, but let's go back to 2021 real quick, Ryan. I want you to listen to this as Biden hailed Harris as the most qualified person to handle the border. Listen. That's true. The VP today, because he's the most qualified person to do it to lead our efforts with Mexico in the Northern Triangle and the countries that need help in stemming the movement of so many folks stemming the migration to our southern border. Well, as history has shown us, Ryan, I think we all know that she's been there what once, maybe twice and hasn't really done much to lead the charge about protecting our border here. But so what does this resolution mean that they put forward yesterday? It's not really much to it, Jake. It's just a condemnation of the Biden administration's border policy. But specifically, they are going after Kamala Harris and naming her and using the term borders are in this in this resolution. And yeah, in many ways, it's probably a way to keep this in the forefront as we get into election time, because clearly, the border has become a really big issue for voters, but particularly Republican voters, especially. So I wouldn't be shocked if Republicans keep these efforts up going into November. And also QJT, we actually found out yesterday that there was a pamphlet that was being passed along to House lawmakers this week, giving them talking points for how to defend Kamala Harris when it comes to the border. Well, look, the media is going to be on her team. It's like their mouthpiece for her now. They're all jumping on. Obama came on board yesterday with a staged phone call. Oh, thank you so much. It means so much to me. Thank you so much for your support. You and Michelle means so much to me. I mean, the push is on. And the response is, I mean, booming again from the Hollywood elites and the leftists, you know, in the West Coast that are all about Kamala Harris, as we saw over $100 million in two days raised. Yeah. So the wave is here, but, you know, just like I think we saw the huge tsunami of excitement around the Republican convention, and it was a massive one, I think, a home run, for sure. You know, that settled down afterwards, and we still have a lot of time between now and November 50. You believe that the honeymoon Kamala is feeling now is going to fade out a little bit and policies will become more, you know, front and center for what's going to happen. Well, I think you expected to happen at some point, but yes, certainly Democrats are riding a wave of energy that's come from changing the top of the ticket. And certainly, I think a lot of them will acknowledge that Kamala Harris is not a perfect candidate or is not a perfect politician, but at the same time, having her at the top of the ticket has really ignited their base. And as you just mentioned, it's brought in a lot of fundraising since President Biden decided to step aside, and as she started to get these endorsements, to get her enough delegates to become the presumptive nominee. So I mean, certainly they've got to wave a momentum right now, the Republicans got to wave a momentum too, and that's because they had a very successful and many people's eyes, very successful Republican convention. So both parties seem to be very, a lot more optimistic now than maybe both of them did a month ago, and certainly Democrats still a lot more optimistic now than they did just a few weeks ago, especially after that debate performance from President Biden. Right. Right. Well, I agree with you. Yeah. This will calm down. Policy will be front and center once again. And I think that's, you know, where Donald Trump needs to land. I get he he's he's loud. He likes to say a lot of things off the cuff about Kamala, but you know, policy is where he can really beat her and because she is tied to the hip with Joe Biden and his policies have been disastrous.
