Paul DiMarco, back in the studio with his former state representative in the chairman of the Jefferson County Republican Party. Back in the day, welcome back in. Paul, good to see you. Good morning. Hope you will today. I don't know about you, but I was on my deck yesterday afternoon just relaxing. Everything was wonderful, taking a little break from other crazy madness in our country in the dumpster fire that we know, enjoying a nice cigar with a buddy. And next thing you know, we said, all right, let's take a look and see what's going on with the five and turn, you know, Brian Kilmeade on, Dana Preno in the crew. And next thing you know, my, I got to get my blood pressure down here. We go again. I mean, all of the reality started coming out and we're talking about Kamala Harris. And she was never the czar. I mean, unbelievable how the spin for Kamala Harris right now from the left media and the new donor base that's putting a hundred million dollars in, in, in, you know, a two days time from those, you know, elites on the west coast, uh, trying to change her whole, uh, you know, direction and what she's all about and trying to erase the history of where she stands and it's unbelievable what's going on right now. She can't win on her record. She doesn't have one. That's a good point because her record is she failed with her one job that she was given as vice president, the border disaster, but then they have to cover up that she was for all of those folks, the riots in the, the summer of 2020, no, no arrest, no punishment. She is the opposite of criminal justice system in this country. She wants to talk about she was a prosecutor now. Look at all these protests that we just had this past week in, uh, Washington, DC. No arrest. Right. No arrest. All the pro Hamas, pro terrorist, pro killers, pro, pro rapist. No rest as part of the same movement and she's the head of that movement. Yeah. Her, her record at the border. I mean, it's just horrendous. She is in complete compliance with Joe Biden has been, uh, she's neck and neck with Joe Biden. Her position on a number of things, uh, at the border. Her history speaks for itself here and now they're trying to paint her that I guess they're trying to separate her from being tied to Joe Biden's policies so she can start fresh with her own mind. Also, remember big support of that green new deal where correct, no more gasoline. You got your required to drive an electric car banning fracking if she comes in. Your power bills will be out the roof stopping offshore drilling if she's in that the United States will not have energy independence. She's against all that, but she knows that the middle America is not for that. So she's most extreme. She was ranked the most extreme liberal Senator in the United States Senate. Well, that's a surprise California. That's been scrubbed from the internet. Try and find it now. Yeah. Exactly. It's just, it's not there. So they're going to try to. Oh, she was, she's a moderate. She, she's the, she can be a president for all of America. No, she's not. She's for the far, far, far left. She doesn't represent middle America. Well, you and I have talked about it before that, you know, this honeymoon she's enjoying now, it will settle down. We still have plenty of time between now and November 5th. And this plays true for the Republican convention as it was probably one of the best conventions I've seen in a long time. And it was a grand slam home run for the Republicans in Donald Trump at that convention. You know, it was almost like an inauguration party. I mean, it was incredible how much everybody felt so good about that. That faded. This is, you know, now moved on to Kamala. This will fade as well. And at the end of the day, policy will take front and center stage again when it comes to the American voters. And that's what needs to be discussed in my mind, Paul, that, you know, Donald Trump, he's so electrifying. He's already getting out there screaming about Kamala Harris, he lying, L Y I N G. You know, yeah, that's what I love about Trump as well. But if he sticks to 90% of the time, just on the record, because she, like you said, doesn't have one, I mean, this is pretty clear and simple to me. This is a clear stark difference between what this country will be the next four years under Donald Trump and the continuation of the failed policies, the economy, the national security, the border, all of the riots at the universities, that the not embracing Israel, but the pro Hamas. Yeah. I want to get your thoughts on that yesterday when she after the meeting with Netanyahu, Biden didn't speak to the press or the public about it, but she did came out with a little quick little, you know, couple of minute speech took no questions from the reporters, but she came to the podium and right off the gate, she said Israel has the right to defend themselves. But there was a big but on how they do that. And I'm only, I kept saying here it comes, here it comes. And sure enough, at the back end of her speech yesterday and that little press briefing, she starts talking about cease fire, you know, the humanitarian concerns. And I will not be silent about this. I mean, really, you know, sure, sure to read to leave or whatever name is she is not going to be quiet about supporting the Palestinians and not doing much about what was going on with all this violence that was happening in the burning of the flag and the spray painting of the buildings. Because those are her people. Yes. Those are her people. She supports this and she can do all this rhetoric. She does. And by tacitly sitting by and not talking about what has happened in Israel and that Hamas hides behind innocent civilians. Yeah, I mean, they created this. They created this. Their administration, you know, as Pompeo said earlier today on Fox, they set this whole thing up with Iran and being soft and open in the doors again. This has dragged on because of this, the softness of this administration and criticizing Israel. This would not have happened under Donald Trump. All right. We got to take a quick break. When we come back, let's talk about some of the crime in the cities and specifically our area here in Birmingham as to maybe there's a move now to get a state appointed police chief. I mean, is that the answer? I'm not sure police is the problem. Maybe the soft prosecutors and soft on crime opinion from the mayor's office in the city. Paul, one of the things that, you know, is coming out about Kamala Harris being our next president is where will she stand on crime and prosecutions? I mean, she's former DA, but you see what's gone on in San Francisco in California when it comes to, you know, prosecutions. You see what's going on in Alvin Bragg's world in New York and in democratically run cities, it's soft. You know, criminals are let out without bond, criminals are let out early. Sometimes they're not even prosecuted in a police department who are trying to do their job and they're battling PR nightmare thanks to the wave that swept this nation after the George Floyd incident, which is a whole nother discussion, but they haven't a tough enough time as it is, you know, law and order, you know, so they make the arrests and they're rolling the dice on whether or not the system is going to take care of and do the right job here. So are we expecting the same type of Kamala Harris president as she was as she claims to be tough on crime in California, but I don't know. No, look how bad it is in California. Just like all these major cities, no bail, no bond, weak sentences, revolving door at the courthouse and we've seen it around the country. We've seen it right here in Alabama. Well, and that's what's going on here in Birmingham. We've got some of the worst crime happening in our murder rates way higher than it has been in a long time. And you know, now there's talk that I guess Senator Wilbarfoot, Republican from, you know, Pike Road, chairman of the Alabama Senate Judiciary Committee sponsoring a bill that, you know, would allow the governor, attorney general to appoint an interim police chief. I don't know. Do you think it's a police chief problem? Do you? I don't think it's the police chief's problem. I think it's the. I said at the courthouse. Yeah. I see if you're not prosecuting the crimes and then when an individual is found guilty, if a judge is not sentencing them the way they need to be sentenced, it's the same people on the street committing the same crimes. You look at it over and over. Oh, this person had been arrested before for rape or violent assault or murder. So that's part of the problem. You can't just say, look, if you want to put more money towards police, I'm all for it. Put more, put, we're already down police officers in this Jefferson County Birmingham. Put more money towards having more police officers, but that's just part of the equation. The rest of us at the courthouse. Look, the police chief serves at the pleasure of the mayor, okay. And mayor Woodford, you know, his position on this is just like a lot of democratic leaders. You know, let's not go crazy. Let's not arrest the, the low lying fruit crimes. Let's, you know, send the message in the community that, you know, don't worry on the softer, you know, bag of weed crimes. We're not going to worry about those things type of crimes. I talked to a police chief in the area outside of Birmingham that said the reason the problems are going on here is because they're sending the wrong message. You got to put zero tolerance for crime. If it's a crime, you got to arrest and prosecute and send the message. You're not going to get, you know, people thinking they can get away with anything. Absolutely. That's, that's really what you got to look at, not just the police portion of it. Yeah. I mean, so I don't know how realistic this is a court appointed, state appointed. Do that, but you can't, you can do that, but you also have to look at the other part of the sentencing. Yeah. It's, it's not the chief's problem. God bless the men in blue and no women in blue to get out there every day.
