Raising the bar for netball and women's sport. Netball show with Flyhawk, delighted to speak to any of the money from Team Bath. And you're gonna be running some specialist coaching alongside Natalie and Ashla Francis, aren't you? - Yeah, so this summer we're heading out across the Southwest to deliver our coach education road show. So we've got six locations across the Southwest that are three head coaches. So Ashla Francis, our super league head coach, Natalee Brody, our academy head coach and then myself as our university head coach. We'll be heading out across those locations to deliver our workshops, which we'll be focused on kind of helping coaches in the region. Take their coaching to the next level, kind of explore those different styles of coaching and different tips that they wanna pick up through these workshops that we'll be delivering. - And they were always gonna be in place regardless of what happened in super league, weren't they? It's always in getting out in community. - Yeah, definitely. So regardless of NSL 2.0 news, we've always delivered our coach education program. And actually, we were really looking this year at feedback we'd had from coaches across the region previously that we often do deliver things in Bath. That's our hub, but actually the Southwest region is so huge. We thought it was a great opportunity to make sure we got out across all those different counties and making sure that it is accessible to all the coaches across the Southwest, that it's hopefully a lot closer on their doorstep and they can kind of join one of these sessions despite the news, making sure that we're still getting out there and the coaches and the athletes in the Southwest feel supported by us at Team Bath 'cause we definitely still wanna be kind of at the forefront and driving that before we're across the Southwest. - And like you said, it's more than just Bath. Give us an idea of some of the other areas that they're gonna be taking place. - Yeah, so our six locations are Plymouth, which is our first ones. We're also visiting Solsprey, Bath, as we've mentioned, Exeter, Taunton and Truro. So we're really covering the whole of the Southwest with those locations. - What are some of those ideas and things that you'll be covering? - Yeah, so each session and workshop has kind of an overriding theme. So we're looking at kind of delivering those unique and inspiring workshops around the Team Bath coaching principles of practice and our kind of top tips for developing athletes. But within that, each coach, so myself, Asha and Natalie, will be delivering two sessions each. We've all kind of got our own little twist that we're gonna develop a little bit more into those areas, but generally we're gonna be looking at kind of, how can you structure your coaching sessions? And we look at that, Asha, especially looking at using the three phases of training, which I'll leave her to talk about. But it's looking at how can we use those to promote really great game players, independent decision makers on the court, looking at kind of how do you continue to develop your coaching toolkit to make sure that your players learning is directed within those sessions. And you can deliver effective feedback to keep your session on track. And also looking at how do we do this across a season? So Natalie's gonna really dive into this, looking at how can you develop your seasonal plan for your team and develop a robust feedback loop between your games and your training to make sure your squad and your individual players are developing across the season. - How much satisfaction do you get out of it? - Oh loads, we love delivering this. I mean, it's always chaotic in the netball season. I think the coaches across the Southwest feel that as well when we delivered it before we've done it in the season. And everyone's like, well, how can we make time for the best of all coaching and playing netball? And it's the same for us, but we love coming out and meeting coaches and getting those conversations. Whenever I've delivered things like this, I've found it really rewarding because the coaches are so brilliant. They're just ready to absorb everything. It's great having conversations with new people, faces that you don't often see. And just as much as the coaches, I hope get a lot out of it, we as well as delivering coaches get a lot out of it. Yeah, seeing those new people having different conversations that, you know, spark different thoughts and maybe different ideas that you hadn't thought about before. - Taking place over the next couple of months at those various locations, more information online, netball.teambath.com/coach-education. I hope that's right. - Yeah, yeah, that is right. - And yeah, thank you so much for your time and good luck with everything. - Thank you so much. - The netball show is now also available via SkyHD, SkyQ, and Sky Glass. So let's sport and we're on the podcast trail. [MUSIC PLAYING]
