It's been a pretty nice chill week this week, which makes me very happy, considering the couple of weeks that we've had this last couple of weeks, so what's up with you Phil? I have been pretty busy, I feel like I've been somehow on something fightful related every day for the last three or four days, so along with other usual stuff I'm doing, it's a little busy weekend. And they're being fed firmly, huh? Yeah, a lot of wrestling to watch, a lot of wrestling to keep up with. I have been up most morning, so I've been up to date on the G1. Yeah, it's funny, now that I think about it, I think Smackdown, I only watched it live because I did the post show, but most of the other shows, I didn't watch anything live, but I watched every episode of the G1 live. That's crazy. What time is the G1 start in Chicago? It's very, like the one last Saturday, I think it was at 1am, and then the last two episodes were like 4am and then the one this morning I think was 2 or 3am, it's crazy. But I was up, I was up watching Better Call Saul anyway, so it's like, "Oh, did you want to start?" Always up, when do you sleep? I don't know, I'll let you know. So funny, man. Yeah, there's a lot of wrestling to talk about before we got into the show today, we're like, and there's like four major shows that happened kind of since the last time we were here, so there's a lot to get into. First and foremost, I guess the news that a lot of people immediately wanted us to get into was this news about Bobby Lashley and MVP. That came kind of quick and out the gate, I was like, "Oh, the timing of this is very interesting. Of course, this is coming off the heels of that MVP IG comment that was screenshotted in everywhere. And, you know, we got a bit of people going, "Hey, why isn't everybody covering this? Why isn't everybody paying attention to this?" And immediately, when I saw it, I was like, "Yeah, there's something to this." He doesn't just say that on IG if there's not something going on. Especially with how MVP moves. Yeah, so yeah, we got to report this week that Bobby Lashley and MVP are expected to leave WWE soon. Where are they going? Good question. Dave Meltzer kind of speculated this week that they could be heading to AW and reforming her business over there. There are, you know, some speculations that they weren't happy. I don't think that those are necessarily unfounded speculations at this point based on that IG comment. It's been very strange. I mean, just watch this back down last night in the Street Profits came out and there was no mention at all of Bobby Lashley. They're just still the three of them together, Street Profits and B-Fab. I mean, not for nothing. I like the three of them together. But also, it is just kind of bizarre. Yeah, like you're saying, the timeline of this and how quick everything starts to happen is so interesting. Because we hear rumors, we hear murmurs, we hear things. We talked about, speculated about where Lashley is. He's been injured. Why isn't he on TV? Why isn't he featured more? So when the MVP thing happened, you and I, we weren't surprised at all. We're like, "Oh, yeah, of course." I knew what was up. Well, let me not say I know what was up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I knew the vibe. I knew the way it looked. Exactly. Yeah, look, man, I think if this is it for MVP over there, I think he had a really, really great run for a guy that was supposed to be coming up and doing a one-in-done in a rumble that year. He turned a one-in-done into a contract, turned that into a really great run wrestling again and managing Bobby Lashley, managing Bobby Lashley as champion, getting to start a stable that a lot of people still are talking about, and it's still very popular online. A lot of people feel like it ended sooner than it should have, and that's been kind of consensus from all of those guys when they talk about it. Shelton just did an interview with Chris Van Vliet, and he was saying similar things. So, yeah, I think that in itself is just a testament to MVP and what he was able to do with his time back there. I think that's dope, because I mean, him just putting that IG out this week of saying that I just wanted my son to see me wrestle, and that turned into a whole 'nother chapter in his career. I think that's super-fire, man. Yeah, I think the fact that the hurt business is even involved in this talk's rumors of where they're going to go. If they do go to AAW, they could bring over the hurt business. That just shows the impact that this group had. Wasn't a long-term group. It wasn't years. It hasn't been established for a long time. But just the amount of time that they were here, how they looked, their act, how Bobby was presented there, hurt business left a mark in this business, and it's something that could be continued, especially with the roster. If we're just talking AAW hypothetically, the amount of guys over there that could fit into the hurt business is pretty deep. Yeah. I'm very curious if they are going to actually try to reform hurt business. Of course, Shelton Benjamin is also a free agent. There's a chance that the three of them could show up there. If they do show up in AAW, there are quite a few black wrestlers that could also join a newer version of hurt business. My ears immediately perked up because I'm like, "Wait a minute. That version of hurt business is somewhere." And Leo's over there too. Can possibly get Leo back linked up with Lashley. Come on. I would be really into that. I don't know. There are a few things that I think are really dope about this. But I guess the elephant in the room here is this immediately raises some questions about WWE under the Triple H regime and their usage of black male wrestlers. I know some people are not going to want to have that conversation. But I do think that it's worth approaching at this point because I mean, what MVP said was pretty straight to the point. There's no way to misinterpret it. And I mean, the way this looks, you got Lashley, a guy that is a former world champion. But believe he's the last black wrestler to hold the WWE championship. That was in 2022. A very forgettable run because that was just him getting the belt off of Brock at Royal Rumble. And then he dropped it right back to him at Elimination Chamber because he was injured. And then he was never put back in the title picture again. We never saw anybody else black in that title picture. We never saw anyone black really challenge Roman or a challenge for the other belt. There hasn't been anybody black in the world title picture for the last two years. And when you had started such good progress over the last few years going from Kofi to Lashley to E. It is kind of jarring that it feels like it got halted in some ways. And now you've got Lashley and MVP and Ricochet possibly leaving and going somewhere else. It's interesting. It's interesting timing. It's interesting timing. Interesting. The people that are leaving looks away. It definitely looks away. I've been a bit disappointed with how they've been booking male black wrestlers over there. Yeah. I think that kind of with the way that they run NXT, you can think like, okay, it's not so bad over here. But then you get to the main roster and you're like, oh, yeah, we're not presented at all. Exactly. And I'm sure when you raised this question online, a lot of people will point to Trick Williams or Carmelo. And shout out to them. They've gotten to do great things on NXT, getting the main event, NXT takeover without the title. I think that that was major, that their rivalry was the biggest storyline on the brand and they got to main event during WrestleMania weekend. But I do think that there's some valid criticism of the use of black wrestlers on the main roster particularly. It's not so much with the women because you do have things like what they're currently doing with Bianca and Jay. It's really the male. And I mean, even when you think about Street Profits and how they tease this singles Ryan with says and it never went anywhere. And even look at them as a tag team right now. What are they doing with them, bro? Yeah. I don't really get it. I mean, we'll get into some of the tag team stuff later. Why are they booking the tag divisions like this? It's strange to me, but nobody likes back team wrestling in any company, I guess is where we're going to like to. We'll definitely get into that. The interesting thing with me about Lashley is like, you guys built a top star, you established Lashley. Remember how over he was, Phil? Like there was that one point Lashley was like top three baby faces in the company. I remember that one time they had went back to Denver and I was like, Oh, Lashley's super over dude. Like we are outside. And so I didn't understand why you built this guy up, but then you're not giving him any opportunities. That's when I was like, okay, it's looking kind of weird over here because I understand everybody doesn't have to be put over. Everybody doesn't have to be put into position, but you got Lashley. He has the look. He's been here. He's a veteran like he's everything that you would think a WWE champion or a top star would be and to not be continuously presented like that is interesting. You just did a merger with the biggest MMA company in the world. You have a wrestler that has had an MMA career and is a wrestler. You've got a guy that can cross over into both of those worlds and you're not making him a prominent guy on your show. That doesn't really make sense because if it was Brock, they would do it with Brock so fast. So why wouldn't they do it with Lashley? It's strange. I mean, I don't want to get into this conversation of whether they fumbled Lashley or not. I think he ended up having a good second run with the company, but I do think that they left some money on the table. I do think they had opportunities to book him better. I continue to say the main issue with making some of these guys champion is that a lot of times the world champion, it's kind of hard to submit yourself in that first reign. It's really that second reign that cement a lot of these guys. For example, AJ Styles. AJ Styles had that first run. Of course, that was during the scene if you dropped the belt back to scene. But that second reign, the year long reign, that's really his definitive reign as champion. And so I don't think guys like Kofi or E or Lashley ever got that chance to have that really definitive run that really made them. You gave them that one run and it was cool, but I want to see some of these guys get more runs with the titles. I want them to continue to be in the title picture. And that's the issue here with Lashley. Why wasn't he still in the title picture? Why didn't we get the match with Roman? He was on SmackDown all that time. How did they bot the Brock feud so bad? The Brock feud started well by the end of it. I was like, what are we doing here? Why isn't this the WrestleMania match? Why isn't Brock just putting this guy over? I just didn't get that. That was the craziest part about it too, is because I had interviewed Lashley for PWI a couple years ago. And legit, his main goal was to have a feud with Brock Lesnar. He didn't care about being champion. He was like, I just want to have this match with Brock. So when they started establishing that, we were excited. We're like, all right, finally, he's getting his dream feud all this. And so like you said, it started out great. But then it was like, oh, I see what this is. This is just Bobby Brock Lesnar beating Bobby Lashley's ass. This is just, they're showing like you guys wanted this, but we know who the real established guy is, you know? They did a very cool story with this that he had the one up on him because Brock had to cheat to beat him more than once. It felt like logically the story is heading to them having a straight up match. And when it comes to it and Brock can't cheat, Bobby's going to beat him. It never happened. It never happened. So I was very confused why they did that. And then that led to him potentially getting the Bray match at WrestleMania instead of getting the Brock match. And then he didn't even get that match because Bray ended up getting sick. And then you had nothing for him at WrestleMania. You had him come out there with Andre the Giant statue. And that was all he did during that WrestleMania. He did nothing at SummerSlam. And I think the thing that's kind of confounding about the whole thing is that when he initially got there, it felt like there was a disconnect. Like long time fans were with him, but it took him a minute to get over, especially as a babyface. You had to put him out for him a few times. Leo helped out. MVP helped out. But right after that title run and he first came back, he was over, man. He was getting some of the loudest reactions at some of these shows. And I was like, okay, let's get to it. Let's push this guy. And I was right in the midst of the Brock feud. And it just feels like they dropped the ball with it. I just don't know why. Yeah, it kind of fizzled out when he started doing the big pose down thing and people were like really into it. And he was doing the man with his theme and all that. I'm like, okay, Bobby Lashley is over, he was like, we're on the way. And so they did that. And then they did the hurt business, had a couple of stop and start things. And it was like, okay, uh, they're trying. It felt like, and then they just stopped trying. And it was like, okay, this is unfortunate. I don't understand what's really going on here. So this has all been like, like you said, like, like I said, it's, it's been not surprising, but it's also is surprising at the same time, because it feels like you guys were telling us this was one of the guys for the future and he's not. So like, very surprising. Yeah, very, very strange. And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that this guy had to be champion. He should have been the guy that beat Roman, but we should have at least got a match with Roman. We should have at least got something like we didn't even get hurt business versus a bloodline. We didn't really capitalize off of any of that. And he was on Smackdown for a minute. It's crazy, man. Like, I just, you know, in a time where they could have afforded a side feud for the bloodline when like there was all that time where there was like empty space. Like you guys could have had a many of you with the hurt business and had something hot. Yeah, I mean, and they kind of got hot around the same time here because during the Thunderdome era, the acts that really, really were carrying it was Roman, of course, bloodline. Sasha and Bailey, Oscar at one point, Randy Orton came back hot and the hurt business. Hurt business didn't make it out of the Thunderdome era, but the bloodline did. It felt like they had two factions coming out of the Thunderdome era that could have collided. And it never happened. It's baffling. I just don't really understand it. Damn. Now I'm thinking about it like, damn, the hurt business was Thunderdome era. Yeah. Shit, dude, like all the, all those great memories are connected to screens. Exactly. They never got a chance to put them in front of the live audience to see how well it would have worked. They, they killed it dead in the water before it got up there. And again, I think that is another concerning thing about this. And we talk about how they booked black wrestlers because you had two black factions that got hot and you kind of killed them in their infantry before they got anywhere. You did the same thing with hitroll hitroll was popping on NXT. Soon as they got to May roster, it was dead on arrival. It was the same thing with, with a hurt business here where you had something, you didn't even give it a chance before, before you got Thunderdome era, you killed it. Yeah, you didn't even see if the live crowd was going to like it because it was already dead before it got to there. Yeah, it's crazy. And how wild is it that now we're talking about the leader of both of those factions could end up at AW? That's insane. It's so interesting all these, all these developments. The ricochet has gone to an MVP talked about wanting him originally in the hurt business. Like all these connections are so funny. And it's like the talk around black wrestling, black wrestlers and AEW and all these guys want to go to AEW. It's all just so interesting. It's very, very interesting at this point. Yeah. But hey, I wish both of those guys the best of luck. It seems like both of them want to continue wrestling. Excuse me. And I think there's, I think there's a line for both of them. I want to see what they end up doing. Sorry Booker T. I do not think it'll be TNA. But Booker said it's going to be a win, win, all right, but I see. I love Booker T though. Always toe in the line. Always do it. But yeah, I think that MVP is Bobby Lashley is a great acquisition for anybody in the world. Like he could be in Japan. He could go to AW all that. It's going to be great. But having MVP and all the things you described of just what he did off coming back of wanting to have this great moment for a son. What he represents and what he could do for any company is so immeasurable. Like picking MVP up is like picking up five different wrestlers. Like he's so important and I'm so excited that he's continuing on too. Like it's going to what he could do for a company like AEW and some guys that are back there, you know, directionless. Like I think it's super important. So I'm excited to see what happens off of this. Yeah. There's definitely some black wrestlers that I think you put next to MVP. And they're seen in a different light when you have a mouthpiece talking for you. I think that that could help multiple women or guys over there. Listen, I, private party, I don't, I'm factions. I'd be like, I hate factions. They've been in so many since they got here. But private party with MVP dog is like, yeah, you know, I'm very leery about them in another faction as well. But it's just certain guys that think of like, like I think when we talked about a Scorpio sky immediately stands out like Scorpio sky next to Lashley. And MVP, I think that that works really well. When I had heard about all of this and I was thinking of the potential people in AEW Scorpio sky legit was number one because I was all him and Lashley have so many parallels like, yes, they're. They are so close together that it would make so much sense for Scorpio to be involved in that. Yeah, a few guys. I'm itching for them to do anything with EJ and Dooka. And so, EJ over there with her business as well, I wouldn't be mad at that. That's a few guys over there. I mean, what are they doing AR Fox right now? Put AR Fox in something. Fox in there? Like, I use another one that I just want to see him on TV. Another guy that might be able to benefit from it, watching him on the Ring of Honor pay review, which we'll get into it. Get Big Shoddy over there. Big Shoddy. He would be fired with them too. Big Shoddy Lee with the hurt business. Everybody suited up. We make it money over here, I think. Yeah. Yeah. There's a lot of great options over there. But when you said Leo, I'm like Lashley Leo and MVP is like a gazillion dollars right there. He's making a lot of money. And it's funny, though, because in the competition, like if you ask a hundred people, Mike or MJ, most people are Mike or Prince. Most people feel like say Prince, but like the whole time Prince was on his, it felt like Prince was in competition with them. And Mike was always just like, let's be homies, man. Like we're chilling, but Prince was like, I want to kill this fool musically and, you know, artistically. Yeah, I mean, MJ was doing some slick stuff. So you get super hot into wanting these guys to fight. My thing is, this is Brian Danielson's last year as a full-time wrestler. We need to get this one big giant Brian moment to kind of pay tribute to him and what he's done for AEW. And then it's over. Page and Swerve are going to feud for the next five years. They're going to feud for a lifetime. You know what I mean? We don't have to get to it next month at all and then it's over. They have years worth of stuff to get into. That's why I'm like, everybody's trying to rush into it. We don't have to rush into it too. I want this feud to continue. We don't have to end it right now. We understand how people are excited about it and blood and guts got people extra into it, but the Brian story is going to be so great that you'll forget about it. But right now, just a little annoying. Sheldon says he hates face versus face matches so much so he has no interest in Brian versus Swerve. Oh, buddy, I hate to break it to you. One of those guys is going to show you very soon that he's not going to be the face in this. I feel like they've been laying the groundwork for it for weeks if you're really watching. I mean, yeah, let's get an AEW dynamic. Yeah, because there's there's some interesting things that happen. We opened the show with Max and his USA, USA all day. Usually the super patriotic stuff is not for me. I will admit, I thought this was extremely funny. I thought that this was very, very funny. I thought him coming out and initially talking and throwing the belt in the garbage. I was like, Oh God, what are we doing? And then when he unveiled the belt and he started talking some more and that big flag and throw behind him, I was dying laughing. The flag had his face instead of the stars on it. He really, really funny, what the belt says on it is funny to me. Even though it's super duper, jingleistic and ridiculous, but it's part of the bit. It's part of the character. I'm sure some people are going to be like, why does he always have to do these kind of bits that are, you know, borderline races? But you're going into United Kingdom. You're going into his home country as the enemy. You're going into a partisan crowd. I think it makes sense for him to drum this up and play this up. It's stuff that we've seen. Osprey doo. Osprey spent the latter half of his new Japan run being a foreign heel. So I think this works perfectly. He did the same thing. He changed the belt to his home country's belt. And yeah, this is all stuff that we've seen and wrestling a lot of times. I thought he nailed this. This showed me again why MJF is just better as a heel. He's just more confident easily. His promo work is better. I think it's humorous better. I thought this was great. Yeah. Initially, I didn't really like it because I was like outside the times and what's going on. I don't really want to, you know, I'm trying to get away from this, like, that type of thing. But like knowing the full story and the Wembley tie-in. And honestly, the funniest part for me is like Max is always, his whole story is kind of like following in Cody's shoes. Like that's kind of been like the bit. And that part is the funniest to me. It's like I said the bit about it being an old belt for Cody, but like it really does feel like like everybody was making the Cody kind of comparisons when they showed the belt. So like him again following in Cody footsteps and doing kind of like a Cody tribute act is the funny, super funny part for me. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, Sheldon, that part was funny as well too. Alex Marves continuing to do this bit with the wrestler where he tries to get an interview with them at the worst possible time. Osprey is telling him that Max slit his tires and he's trying to figure out how he gets to the arena. Marves, this whole time is trying to interview him. He's like, yeah, whatever. Hop in the car. We're rolling. I thought it was like, wait, wait, hold on, hold on though. Let me get a full statement from you. Osprey is like, dog, did you not just hear me? Yeah. It's funny. Also, as soon as Osprey pulled up and he slid in the ring and Max ran away with like the streamers and everything on his boots, that was funny to me too. I thought this opening segment was great. I thought it has served his purpose. I think that it's a good build for the all in match. And I'm looking forward to second match. Now, do I think that Max has a very clear pattern that he does with his book, his build? Yeah. It gets a bit repetitive because immediately when he won the match, I was like, okay, so it's the punk feud. You win the match, then you come back in gloat and then you get the rematch at the paper view. We've seen this before. And I feel like he's done that before with other wrestlers where, hey, I get the match before the pay-per-view. I beat you, come back on TV and gloat. And then it leads to the pay-per-view match. That's the only thing that's a little bit frustrating with Max is he like gets into a formula. He's like, I'm going to get into this formula and I'm going to do this and this. And like, it's like, I like it because you're trying to tell stories, but it's the same story and it gets a little bit frustrating. It works out because it's deep and there's so many different elements and he's such an intricate storyteller. But if it's the same story that you're already told that it's kind of hard to hit again, you know? Yeah. I also think he is going to get some great heat going into Wembley Stadium with that belt. He's probably going to get great heat going to Arena Mexico with that belt. So I think this is going to work. Long as we're not doing this long-term, as long as this is like a monthly, month-long thing that he's doing ahead of the Osprey match, I'm flying. If it goes any further than that, I think that it where it's welcome out pretty quick. But just to start the show with this, I thought that this was a great way to open an episode. I think all of the stuff that they're cooking now that's been building up to the pay-per-view has been tremendous. I said it on Twitter, but the women's division is on fire, bro. Women's stuff on Wednesday, I thought was some of the best stuff on the show. Mercedes coming out as well was great. I thought that the match and everything was great. The debut for Camille was also great. I thought everything that they did to playoff that was great. Yeah, the build for Mercedes and Brit has been really, really good. I thought that Brit coming out first match in almost a year against Sheida. Great idea because Sheida is the MVP of this division and she elicits emotions that a lot of other wrestlers can, and it was very present here. The match added so much more to the angle afterwards because Sheida was present there. I love the debut of Camille. I think we talked about on this show of like, I think Mercedes' whole running to get away from Brit is going to lead to something and it's leading to Camille coming out here looking like a big giant superstar, hitting her with a torture rack bomb. I thought all of that was a really great way for her to debut. Yeah. And Mercedes, again, just better as a heel. Everything she does, the little laugh that she did when Camille came out. Her fake wrestling, maniacal laugh is just so hokey and silly, but it's funny to me every time she does it. Then showing up at Comic-Con and making the match official was also great. Mercedes showing up dressed up as Poison Ivy and she had Camille behind her dressed at Bane, very, very funny, really good. Great stuff. I thought the pull-up part at the Comic-Con was also great. We got the Mariah Squash match that led to Tony coming out afterwards. I thought Tony coming out in the wig reveal was a very dramatic and ridiculous thing that Tony would do, even her yelling at her during the pull-up part. Are you prepared to die? Because I am. I thought all of that was great. It was a really good Tony moment of like when she pulls off the wig and she just standing there just like present until Mariah slowly turns around to see the reveal. I'm like, this is really funny. If nobody on Twitter has done this yet, I don't know why you have not. But when she jumps in the ring and her eyes get wide, I immediately thought of Kill Bill. I immediately thought of my head, "Dana, woo, woo, woo, woo, woo, woo, woo, woo, woo." Somebody needs to cut that over this at some point. If nobody's done that, please, somebody cut that Kill Bill music over it because that's immediately what I thought of. The women's programs coming into all-in are so hot, man, and they just keep getting better and better with every week. I thought that both of those things combined, I thought those things were great. Thunder Rose had cut up, Fire Promo Saturday after the collision. I think the stuff she's been doing with Deanna has been great. The stuff they've been doing with the women on Ring of Honor is great. They're just in a really great place with the women division. Willow and Stat are also in the middle of the-- What's that? They've got three, sorry, four big storylines with the women going in. All of them are entertaining. All the women have been incredible, all the matches are great. Everything's surrounding it has been really refreshing because we've talked for years about AEW's women division and for them finally to get big focus like this is so refreshing. That's what I feel like the most important thing a Mercedes signing was is you're going to be forced to give more attention to the women just because Mercedes is such a big star and you see it every single week like that Mercedes has changed the whole division over here. It's great. Do you think her now having Camille behind her is a sign that we're going to be seeing Jamie Hader sign? Because immediately that's what a lot of people thought. Yes, and also no because I feel like Jamie Hader might be somewhere else. Yeah, I don't know but I do think that this is a good sign that we could see Jamie at Wembley. I feel like we're going to see Jamie Hader at Wembley regardless. I don't know if it'll be in this position but she's going to be there. Which is also exciting. I thought all of this was hot but of course the main thing that people tuned in this week for because it was the Blood and Guts special was of course the main event. Blood and Guts straight away. I thought that that segment they did before the match where Swerve was trying to give his barking orders and everybody was looking around like why are we listening to you? I'm not listening to you sneaky sneaky. No matter who I think it is like Darby immediately was like I'm not listening to you. You beat up Nick Wayne in front of me. You caused me all these problems going into all in last year. You had to have a coffin match with you because you were doing all this crazy stuff. And then a claim they got reason to have beef with you too. Hangman of course has reason to have beef with you. I think that that was a great story going into this match how a lot of this stuff going into this match was Swerve's come up in for stuff he was doing at the heel that all of the other baby faces or other heels are like you like why are you trying to act like why are you trying to act like the good guy here like this is your fault or you did this. This is your fault. Really good story to tell too because I like that Swerve to get into this match Swerve was like dude I want to be the leader. I want to represent AEW like if we're talking against the elite I want to be the one to do that. And for everybody else to be like yeah you are the champion but you did a lot of shady ass shit to get up here like it's not we're not just going to forget about that. And I like that Darby is like this match isn't about us being friends like I just want to kill these guys you just have to be involved too. I love it. I love that Mark was the only one that was like man let's get it together. Let's be a team because he has no beef with Swerve. Right. So I love that he had to step forward and go guys and the whole times Swerve is just getting up there like what did I do? Why am I making up both of them? For real time it's like me yes you couldn't be. Yeah so just coming straight away into the match with that. I think that is going to spill into the stuff with Brian because that's kind of been the storyline for his entire time as champion is that in his mind he's trying to make amends for the stuff that he did as he'll by leading by example but he's not actually trying to address that stuff with any of the people that he's wronged and that's kind of my favorite part about it is like he's trying to redeem himself but he's not like apologizing he's not talking about it and he just like well just move forward. The other part about it is he's not going to apologize because he told you in the feud with I spray I had to do all of that stuff to get here and are you going to tell me it's not worth it now because it worked I'm champion and so yeah all of that stuff happened then but I had to do that to get here man like it is what it is I had to make those sacrifices I had to be that person to get here and so that's why I don't understand why people think it's going to be a straightforward face versus face match every time this guy has been up against the wall we've seen that side of him come out again and if you're going up against this guy and Brian that's already beat you before and he's like no this is my last chance and they're trying to tell the Cinderella story with Brian it's as big said like this is his big match for him and Swerve is going to be like well what about me it's my time like we already told you in the in the Osprey feud if you're trying to take this belt away from me it's personal it's always going to be personal and he hasn't been a Swerve hasn't been a clear cut baby face like there's no he's like between yeah but he hasn't been 100% baby face so when people are like face versus face I'm like not exactly yeah the other interesting thing I saw this take on Twitter during the debates about whether it should be a hangman versus Swerve or Brian versus Swerve and there's some people that seem to think that it was never about the title with hangman which is a complete misunderstanding I think of the story it's always been about the title with him I mean straight away in their first promos together Swerve is like I'm going to be the first black AW champion if they if they gave me the chances they gave you I would be champion I'm in the first segment with him and in this match in the blood and guts match when as soon as hangman attacks Swerve at when they get into the match he grabs the world championship and says you don't deserve this like he's never deserved this you never deserve this this should be my he's making it to be like I want I want to kill you but I also want to kill you and take this from you yeah and it's not so much that I want to take this from you because I think you deserve it more it's just like how dare you think that you can come in here and be champion how dare you think after everything you did that you could be champion and then these people just embraced you like you didn't do any of that stuff so yeah I didn't understand certain people trying to say it was never about the belt of course it is that's what it's all about but I mean from day one hangman has been the guy that's like I want to be world champion so his story from day one has always been about the championship oh and there's another layer to that because it's like hangman's like I was I didn't I could have went to where Swerve went but I didn't I did this other thing I tried to play this nice guy to become world champion and he did that and he became world champion and he's essentially being rewarded for being a terrible guy when I was a terrible guy I didn't get any rewards a lot a lot of layers to this how did he lose the belt to punk he thought about cheating in that match and he didn't do it yeah yeah layers man there's layers I think that I think that hangman is one of the best storytellers in the company man I think his character has been one of the most interesting characters probably since the beginning of the company I was gonna say that that's what hangman people like hangman so much is because every single thing he's been involved in it's some kind of story some kind of connection like it's always a purpose he never is just out there for to have a good time it's like if he's in a match the match is telling a story for something else it's like it's always connecting to something that's why he's such a top guy over there yeah and that's why I also just feel like he's always gonna be a guy that you can go back to you can always gonna be able to go back and tell stories with him there's so much time I'm like why does everybody think now is the time like these are good I understand people saying that they had the best few last year and it should be rewarded with them getting the all-in match I get that that's fair I like that but I just to me I think what you're doing with Brian if for my personal taste I'm more interested in me too and this is in the end of the world like this is in the last big stadium show that AEW is gonna do like this is forever yeah but yeah hangman's an incredible storyteller that's it's always great having him back and featured because like I said he's always connected to something and like he's gotten people so much more interested in the Swerve feud and he's not even getting the match with him it's great yeah enter the blood and guts match I was not the biggest fan of the build to this match I think at certain points the the build kind of lost his plot especially when FDR got injured because you initially started this team AEW team elite stuff off of showing the footage and starting this back and forth between the bucks and FDR so when you take FDR out of it it's kind of like all right you're now completely restarting a few from scratch and I get your your building to get around the stuff with Swerve you make him the leader now you're building the story around the build with Brian that okay Brian led the team and again arena and he failed I'm gonna lead this team to victory and I like that I like that he did get the win and I do feel like even though I wasn't the biggest fan of the build the actual storytelling in the match was excellent I think the story was story wise this is possibly the best blood and guts match ever yeah totally I felt like that was kind of the consensus I thought going into this of like the build's not gonna be great because like you said they had to tell a whole completely new story on building team AEW essentially because it was gonna be like centered around FDR and all that stuff so building a whole thing and not that much time and they still made it happen but I thought that they're gonna tell the most stories in the match because there's so many different people involved and where we're leading with all in and I thought that's what exactly what happened the finish I didn't love it I thought that after so much plunder after so much stuff of just like do you say I quit yes or no those finishes always kind of get me crazy but I thought the stories that they built within made it like you said probably the best blood and guts they've ever been yeah I thought all of the spots hit I thought the stuff with the acclaim were great I mean that was a big sticking point for a lot of people coming into this match when we didn't have FDR some people were not fans of the acclaim being a match we talked about that for weeks coming into this but I thought that they did very well I thought Bowen's looked great out there I thought he worked well in the spots they used them in I think Ocada continues to be Ocada he's just incredible in everything you allow him to do comedy wrestling he does it well doing straight up you know one-on-one big marquee matches he's great at that he's great at just filling his role in these big multi-man matches as well the young bucks always do the kooky like spot fest stuff coming out with the briefcases with silly but I thought it was great there's they're the very legit might be the most frustrating act in AW to me because when I see them in moments like this I'm like yeah you guys are the fucking greatest tag team of all time what are you doing why aren't we seeing this on a consistent basis we shouldn't have to there shouldn't be a special moment to see the fucking young but you know what I mean but I understand I thought the meat of the match of them getting the upper hand cheating to get the upper hand of the match with the coin flip and then feeling like are we got this in the bag all four of us are coming down come on down come on down hang man his music hit he doesn't come out then the second swerve comes out then he comes out there is jumps were from behind and comes them to the case I thought all of that was perfectly executed him like we talked about running him down and saying you don't deserve to be champion I deserve to be champion and he's getting completely consumed with revenge against him not paying attention to anything else is happening and mad has to eventually go hey what are you doing get in here get in here right now or you're fired and even the way he got in the ring where he had to stop and do that little slow walk like his mom told him to come in because it's a light side because it's dark outside he's like mom five more minutes no get in here now I thought all of that was great storytelling I mean even reintroducing Jeff into this into the match as well having him help swerve I thought that was also smart I don't know if we needed Jeff and Billy but I again bringing Jeff back in it because Jeff had the stuff from the Owen Hart man and having the idea that if this team represents team AEW yes the other people in the company looking at this is like yeah what is what are these guys doing I'm on your side I love that there's a all these stories of like there a team but also like I don't know man he might do some some wild shit Darby I think in these plunder matches has always needed the stuff that he did like the match never anytime there's a plunder match it never gets kicked in the high gear until he gets into it because he's gonna do some wild shit when he climbs up on we climbed up the cage and did the coffins drop that was that was not he's like now this guy's insane crazy spots like that and he every now and then when he does I'm like okay Darby also like he's just such an incredibly entertaining guy to watch man because he's so unpredictable like his moves are so erratic he's wrestling jackass cuz it's like yeah I love it it's like damn this is awesome but also take it easy bro it's scary yeah yeah the story of the stuff was worse where gets in the match eventually house on fire fighting everybody off by himself at one point I thought all of that stuff was great when they surrounded him with that Snape stable gun and we're taking turns with the stable gun also great because it had that moment of like you know you've been talking a lot I'm thinking you this is earlier you talked about when we're talking about Lashley and MVP and title runs and it takes the second run to get established Swerve has been the opposite of that because he has been sent it to a different stratosphere office first title run like he's such a like the the the distance he has with so many other wrestlers and how he's presented and how he looks and how he is a top guy is crazy now like when he entered the match like the vibe changes the energy changes it feels like oh damn Swerve like he feels he's somebody now it's crazy it's a man title run is absolutely elevated him the crowd loves him when he came out in the Swerve House chant started the elite reluctantly and ocada's like what the fuck are you doing basically pushes them all of that stuff was great hangman ocada if you if you were not certain that is definitely going to be the match moving forward they of course have history together um believe that they wrestled once in the g1 think that's the only time they had a one-on-one match of course they had to match and uh forbidden door the first forbidden door to fade a four way um yeah i thought all of this stuff like even swerve getting in there fighting everybody off and the entire time you could see hangman in the background not helping he's just watching him fight everybody off and like the entire time he's just like fuck this guy and he finishes he turns around and they do that slow walk up in each other so so good just again just great storytelling throughout this match yeah i thought like yeah they built so many things they got people so much more excited about that but i thought that you know the couple of individual performances swerve like we talked about killing mark brisco again kind of in that uh Darby allen roll of like when he gets into the match we really started just the way that he the motion that he elicits having jay spiritually there in every match bleeding taking crazy bumps mark brisco is such an important character in a w yeah it it's so bittersweet man because i love seeing him on tv um i love seeing his energy in the backstage segment i love seeing him in these kind of matches where he thrives but it just also just kind of stings because they had them all that time and they weren't putting him in jay on tv for whatever reason whatever the mandate with the the morning brothers was and it took his brother passing away for him to get on tv and be able to do all that because i just imagined all the moments that mark has had but if jay like if jay was also in this match it would have it would have been a completely different match like for the better you know like it's fucked up it yeah it stings but man it's been just a joy to see this guy on tv he's a joy to see how you never see he played jobs in one week yeah you've never seen this guy down on any of this stuff you never see him focusing on any of the sad stuff he's just like now i got a job to do he's always upbeat it's inspirational man it's just really beautiful to watch this guy wrestle i love listening to him talk and interviews and man it is inspirational man if you didn't know that his fucking number one person in his world his brother passed away not that long ago like you wouldn't know if you just saw him like he's always a bema like he's always so excited he makes segments better he makes all the promo segments better he's just like incredible man like sucks that what happened to jay is so sad but like that mark has been able to shine off of it too is he yeah he has absolutely made a w better right there's no doubt about it he's he's made a w better every time he's around we're going to talk more about mark brisko very here here very soon when we get into the death yeah portness honor yeah very much enjoyed this match i'm with you i was not a big fan of the finish i think when you when you ramp up all this violence and all this over the top stuff for the entire match and then you get to the end of the match and uh you got a jack handcuffed to the cage and he's getting worn out he controversy kindle sticks getting hit with chairs people were you know doing a lot over that chair shot uh what you you know i get it be safe we all want the rest of us to just be safe correct but of course that then turned into discourse and once things turn into discourse it's time for me to check out because i don't want to i don't want to do that because people always take things too far or start arguing something that doesn't need to be argued are arguing with the professionals who know what the people people people getting mad at grace was ridiculous i thought that was really weird um i don't we cannot judge his intentions i don't know if he had the intent of trying to make a w look bad or if he had legitimate concern for the wrestler and he was just talking about wrestling got the business and what you're supposed to do for the wrestlers you're supposed to get in there and take care of each other and you hear so many wrestlers say that i don't think he said anything that was that wild i don't know why people got that upset um cori grace he didn't tweet that to shit on a w he tweeted that as a veteran trying to talk to him the rest of us he tweeted that as a veteran that can no longer wrestle because he had hit it because he had like hit issues yeah so if anybody you want to listen to i think like i don't i'm kind of i wish he wouldn't have deleted it because like you should stand on this like it's it's not you know what i mean he probably just didn't want to argue with people i understand why he deleted it because i you know i mean every time i'm commuting i'm doing something soon as people start getting annoying so i get it um and i also get people that are like it's not that big big of a deal it's a gimmick share but also it it is what it is like he it's fine i don't i don't i just don't think it we're i just i just don't think it's a big of a deal man like that's that was his opinion you don't have to agree with the guy but getting mad at him like you know more than workers is crazy like shut up boys what do you know i think he knows a lot i think he knows a lot about this as a wrestler you do not know more than a that's how i ended that felt very anti-climatic um but other than that i thought it was a great match i thought it was a great episode all around um like i said the women stuff was spectacular i thought that that really stole the show and i thought the like i said the blood guts match itself i thought it delivered i mean if you told me a year ago that the women would be carrying dynamite i would would have said no all right yo that makes sense and i wouldn't have believed you but look at where we are now we're in a different stratosphere different world a lot of the strong dynamite and collisions the last couple of months have been specifically because of what the women have done so that's still super exciting to see really great blood and guts match i thought everybody did their job like anybody who had a point or something to make everybody did it after the bones was incredible even though the people didn't want to see they claimed in there i thought he had a great showing and uh yeah super fun match um shown just reminded me something showed misterio that i've just reminded me of something um every time jack comes out does certain things and people are like oh this other wrestler did it i'm just like well you know jack got that from raven right yeah this raven's post like a lot of stuff that he's doing currently is a chair shot thing it's tommy raven raven and tommy dreamer did that all influenced by raven i think all of that is kind of funny um and of course that's not a coincidence punk had a pretty popular feud with raven like all of this stuff is linked and so it was a tweet i saw where somebody was like all this wrestler's just copying jack i'm like they're both everyone's fluent by raven it's not like they did this guy didn't go see jack wrestling go hey i want to be jack perry like both of these guys are very clearly influenced by raven yeah long time thing i love when people say that they were talking about that with the homie from nxt him brooks gents in there like oh he's just doing a jack perry thing like well they're both doing a racial that's what it was that wasn't saying i saw when people were like brook is just trying to be jack they bitchin because the match is not happening at all in or it's not a three way if page one on uh they would have pitched about brine not winning i absolutely do believe that part about it i do think there would be a very vocal crowd that would have said the same thing every time brine loses why he never wins the big one why do you keep putting him in these situations if he always loses i saw it's just a really damned if you did do damned if you don't think right uh uh why they doing it so soon again why it's normal title match not a special match about the fucking winner then he says uh the feud is fine no matter uh when they do it we will watch is officially on-site historic feud until one retires since blood and glitz had focus on swerve and pace where brine suffered from it doesn't go in a direction they want they think their idea is better um a lot of times you know people are just not along for the ride they they want to write the story while it's happening instead cup of tea but it is what it is i thought the tag match was really really good i'm really glad that abc are champions again yeah um there's a couple of elements in in tna that are like true to what the brand represents and i think specifically abc should be forever tag team champions because they're incredible the x division they always kind of really get that they've been trying to do some more story stuff over there so it's been a little murky but for the most part the core of the x division is always great and the knockouts division is always really great so the rest of the stuff that gets a little bit muddy yeah uh but yeah i thought the tag match was a lot of fun yeah abc picked up the win they are your new tag team champions they are mike santana continues uh his uh reinvention tour with tna and house of glory uh you know he's been doing great work i mean yes i got to give him his credit he's been he's been having good matches he's been uh really turning over new leaf so good for him him and jake santana had a pretty good match yeah i like that uh when you know kind of the towards the tail end and what he was doing in a w and he started to be like i want to change i want to be this different guy i think he's executed all of that plan greatly and he's uh he's established himself and made himself a character out in independent wrestling and in tna i'm excited about that yes jake something's one of the badass mother fuckers in the world he needs to um it has been a blast to see the rascals together again um those three guys are just a special faction man seeing them on nxt and seeing them together on tna they came out with the matching buzz like gear um gear i thought that was cool and they had a very fun match i thought that this was uh one to highlight to the show for me yeah probably the best my favorite crossover for this nxt tna thing has been the rascals getting together they've had like three or four incredible matches just like six men being the rascals doing what we know and love about them their run has been great this has looked even better being with the friends like you see how much more comfortable he is being out there that shit has been awesome and yeah they have been one of the highlights of they were one of the highlights of this pay-per-view for sure barnaway um we got the obligatory pco match which i feel like if this stuff is for you it's very much your bag but if it's not then it's not i can see you groaning and rolling your eyes at this like it's kind of like the braid why it's stuff for the spooky stuff like if you just don't like this stuff this is not going to work for you at all you've never got a line i thought it was it was a lot of shenanigans it was a lot of what you'd expect from a pco match um i think they try to kill pco like five times yeah he comes back he gets the big epic entrance um i thought it was fine i i thought agie frances got the best out of this um having smoked dizah and rich one and everybody involved and it was also cool um smoked dizah was in the crowd for this show a lot as well um the west side gun track with the uh theme song for the for the uh pay-per-view which was not what i expected very surreal tna is doing something to me feel because i don't know how to feel i'm like damn they got that they're trying to get me to come over there you got a west side gun track as the track like they see what you're doing over here they trying to get west side to come over there too they're trying to get it's in the fucking song he said they the rumor is i'm i'm buying tna it's in the song they're trying to get my guy to invest hard bro listen and i'm all in i like it a lot but then there are some other things on the show where i was like oh you guys are trying not to give me to stay though um they try to kill who's the uh the homie the big homie Josh Briggs i know Josh Briggs is the um is Josh Briggs no Josh Briggs is the NXT guy yeah he tried to kill pco with the big uh razor's edge yeah josh um i'm so sorry he's he's the new seed appreciate the homie he he kills it though he's the new seed he's the new seed um i thought the women worked hard in a knockout match um i thought that they made the best out of their time on the card um josh bishop is who you're talking bishop yes thank you um i i i listen man i'm not a dana hater like a lot of people and i think that she's done well with this this change as ash by elegance um but Jordan's just on a different level man and it's kind of the same way that we were talking during the world rumble match where you could see that she was slowing down so the other women could keep up with her and i noticed that a lot in this match too where she was definitely slowing herself down so ash can keep up with her now ash did get some cool spot 10 i did think she worked hard um it was a solid match but i you know for what they've gotten a women's division right now with with the impact sorry not tna um it just feels like they should be building other people up and i don't understand why they've moved masha out of that title picture and they keep her in attack team for example um i think masha should be named both of them in that tag team i don't know why they're in attack team that could be two single stars right there i i don't really get it but Jordan has been smashing it you know i understand why she's been the face of the division since they moved back to tna and she's done an incredible job i think she was i think she was great in nxt matches i think she was great neuro rumble match every time they get for the ball and let her run with it she's been tremendous um but i i'm just ready to see her get like some the the matches that she was having like before like the rivalry she she had with diana i'm ready for those kind of like big feuds again yeah masha is potentially my favorite women's wrestler in all of wrestling and if i was booking for tna you would hate how many times i'd have her and Jordan going one-on-one i don't understand like they've had matches before but like this should be there's so much more they could be doing with Jordan and i understand they're like she's doing the crossover thing she's representing in a different space but like there's more that they could be doing so she's incredible as always like the mattress she even like probably took dana to her best match but like yeah it's more than they could be doing yeah but yeah definitely shout out to Jordan she's been she's been excellent she's just really great as the thing like you know she's been an excellent champion i think she deserved like this definitive title run because last time she won the belt then diana came and then it felt like it was diana's time and every time she won it just felt like you know something else happened or something somebody else was having their moment and it definitely 100 feels like her moment at this point yep uh i think the match of the night was the exhibition match i thought uh not surprising yeah of course speedball versus moustifie lee was great there was a lot of shenanigans in this that i was kind of like i don't know if this match needed that but uh actual in-ring stuff was great um bringing in earl heaven for a screw job type finish and all of ollie's acting and everything around it was absolutely ridiculous but i did laugh at it and i did it i think it added an extra wrinkle to this match that i enjoyed but yeah the the the match itself like once they were getting to it the end-ring stuff was exceptional yeah this this is what i was talking about earlier with the exhibition like there's some money there's some shenanigans and some extras in there that i maybe you don't need because these guys are some of the best wrestlers in the world but also like the wrestlers themselves i know they want more stories they want more stuff involved and not just like we're but having great matches so i'm on that side of like all right tell a story but let's not get too silly out of here you guys yeah um but yeah i really enjoyed the match i i've been enjoying uh ollie is this this heel figure i thought all of the silly stuff like him having a bodyguard out there the one point where there's the rev bump and then all the bodyguards come in and surround uh speedball and then he's just like kicking them all and trying to fight them all off by himself i'm like i don't know if this match needed this but we're here now so why not and the homie ollie uh i don't know his tna days i don't i think he's trying to do some bigger matter things we've got a match he's got a match with uh nick demis coming up right that's next week that's the match huh he's not gonna win the bell does he no but i at least like he's getting that that match he's getting that platform so good for him yeah um his main event was a head scratcher the real head scratcher for me what happened here i i didn't understand this i mean the match was fine yes but the result different i didn't understand this man so um this was a six man elimination match for the tna world championship match uh moose eliminated steve maclin first um moose came out and his uh apollo gree get up with the big flap he had and everything and um one guy came out and you knew straight away who that crowd wanted to win yes when joe hindry entered that arena the energy change buddy that guy is incredibly old this guy's the most over guy on your roster bar really the most over guy in the company one of the most over guys in the entire industry right now i mean we just saw that clip of the kid from the saint's going into practice and he was doing the the joe hindry theme song we keep seeing memes of it everywhere you see joe hindry signs at nxt you see them on main roster shows um i've seen joe hindry signs in a w like i've heard people doing his shit and independent wrestling shows like he's fucking over dude that reaction to him when he came out was crazy yeah just like dude you this guy this you got to do something with you guys so why phil what happened here why isn't he the fucking world champion so joe hindry penned moose in this match he penned the world champion i was in i'm like all right we're getting to it and when he penned moose that reaction i was just like okay we're off man yeah just do it just put the belt on him that's what we're leading to is what what it felt like for a minute there um alexander turned heel right after that josh alexander hoofed him in a boss and then proceeded to give him a c4 and pen him right after he penned the champion so again i'm in but if you're going to turn somebody heel this is probably the perfect time you got your most over guy in the roster turn alexander heel but alexander wins right so joe hindry gets this big reaction after he pens moose and then alexander immediately pisses the crowd off yes in canada by the way yep this is his home country yes he gets booed in his own home country because he took uh joe hindry out of this match you could have done something really cool with this we're there you could have then made josh alexander the champion you could have made the whole point of this the story of hey man i never lost that belt i came back to win my belt obstacles kept getting away when i finally got my moment and i pinned this flavor of the month you boo me you boo me that's my belt yep and so the story was there and i would have been fine with that i was then but then straight away josh alexander gets penned by nik comin i was just like okay so you're not going to put the belt on the most over guy in the match because the second joe hindry got penned there was a big gasp in the arena you could feel the energy leave the arena with joe hindry got penned then you got a moment to do something cool with josh alexander out of that and then you just pin him too i why this the sequence of events was crazy i wasn't watching live that day but i was on social media and so i see oh joe hindry pins joe hindry pins moose i'm like oh cool we're getting to it and then i'm like a few minutes later oh josh alexander turned heel and beat joe hindry i'm like okay that's a that's different like i thought joe hindry was gonna go over but that must mean that josh alexander is gonna win the belt then no actually this name if there's now your new tna world champion i'm like but why though yeah so even execution of this um you you built something cool here after josh alexander pin joe hindry somehow then you got them to boo josh alexander in this fucking home country yes you did it then then you pinned them right away you didn't even leave him as one of the last guys in there to milk that reaction you had the final two was nick nimmis and cuzarion i was like but why you you took the most over guy out of the match and then you gave the crowd somebody to boo and if anything if you would have put nick nimmis against him and the crowd is booing alexander the whole time that would have that would have probably salvaged this and made nick nimmis win feel better but in the match with cuzarion and yeah why didn't they just have josh alexander at least pin cuzarion also and then and then nick nimmis pilt i i'm like what happened here like this was this was a very very confounding match i did not understand and i mean look good for nick nimmis this guy has been winning belts everywhere he's gone since he left ww but i just at this moment man as over his joe henry is i just do not understand why you didn't put the bone on i get it like it's him dossigler long time he's a name blah blah blah but this joe henry dude it's on a platter he's it's right there bro you walk it on a pla he's the most over guy by far in your company one of the most over guys in all of wrestling this guy he getting a fucking meld on him what are you doing he's getting the exposure um he he's he's on nxt you got the chance to have your world champion over there i i did not understand this at all i was so confused but hey you guys yeah and of course that that then turned it to all of the lll tna memes afterwards um you didn't have to dude you guys you did this to yourselves man ah yeah what kind of Illuminati 360 deal that dossigler signed also that everywhere he got he got like why did you get these belts what's going on here i fucks with the homie heavy but like bro what's what i mean this is in line with what tna has been doing as well but the second they get an xww guy in they put the bone on him they've done that with so many guys to end up coming over i mean they just did it with ole they put the butt on ole when he came over they put the butt on a on me i mean you can even make the case with diana so this day deanna came over they put the butt on her so they've done this a bunch of times with xww wrestlers but i just didn't feel like this was the right time for this man as over as yo henry is man this was the time to put the butt on him like i don't even know that uh nick i think he could be tna champion eventually but no he's great and i i'm not mad at him i'm not mad at him winning the belt so much as i just feel like you had the moment there for joe henry and you didn't and even if you weren't gonna make this joe henry's moment you could have told a better story without example i didn't the issue is phil is uh uh remember tna has ended a bunch of paper views like remember when moose cashed in his whatever we cashed in his contract or whatever at the end of that one paper view and they just left the sourest taste in everybody's mouth they just can't finish a paper view man they just i don't know what it is they need help out there because this was like an emotional roller coaster in a not good way though this was crazy uh but yeah slavversary solid show uh some some head scratchers uh some moments that were not in slavversary show too jesus christ you guys this was said like one of your biggest shows of the Wrestlemania and i don't know how that'll be possible but you know great new things have happened you think that the world wrestling entertainment is going to use your match concept from your show on their biggest show of the year are you crazy crazier things have happened i don't know um yeah saw the show i i i enjoyed the bits that you know were for me but the bits that weren't for me i was like hello tna man that's a variety show for sure definitely for righty show um yeah uh yeah uh let's get into g1 climax that is what i have been watching the most throughout the week that is what i've been the most excited about um last week we talked about night one and we are already up to night five by today night five aired this morning um night five was uh the first one so far where i was just like uh this was uh interesting collection of matches and match-ups uh this uh ending was very much uh a choice what happened uh evil pinned tattoo unido oh god nido so far has won one match in this tournament he is the current iWGP world champion he is among one of the lowest uh competitors in the tournament so far almost kind of one he's one in three so far he's one one match and he lost the evil it seems like this is setting up yet another title match for evil why don't they keep doing this to us i don't know as it was happening at the end and he was pinning him i was just like why why are we doing this man but i don't want to i don't want to focus too much on that because i think that the g1 has been a blast other than uh some stuff from night five other than evil yeah other than evil and dick toe will come in and do any usual but that i think this has been a blast i think that uh new japan needs this tournament to be a success because uh they need to re-establish who their main offenders are going to be they need to uh this is an important tournament honestly yeah they need to set up their next up and coming type stars and i think so far they they've done a good job of uh setting up who the future of this company is going to be they just need to pull the trigger on you know who is the finish right yeah you gotta stick the landing um i so far my it kind of feels like they're going there right yes uh so far my pick is looking pretty good i started out this saying that i think sak saber is going to win this whole thing right um he is leading all competitors with eight points he is four and l uh tied with evil who is also four and now i know you're probably sitting there as if you have watched many g1 climaxes like i have and thinking will fill everybody that starts the tournament well and usually wins all of their first few matches that's not a good sign because they usually end up losing i know that but let me believe uh sak saber came out in night two against night o picked up that win got a very uh narrow win against night o and after it he slid out of ring picked up the iWGP world championship strutted through the crowd and stood at the top of the arena with the belt over his shoulder and i was out of my seat i was like let's go it's kind of home get that briefcase on my guy yes get that belt it's time him standing up there with the belt with that picture in the luv it's time buddy you were here you think that there could potentially not yes of course because it's what i want to happen and so i could definitely see gato dashing my hopes because he's done it so many times he likes doing it too he's uh he's almost evil brian daniel sitting up like what you think you he's like no this is actually what you don't get um who could be who is the alternative then like evil wins this whole thing yeah he can win this whole thing right don't do that to me i i evil wins this whole thing i might give up all hope in everything um i want to know who likes that like like where's gato getting like this house to torture feedback where it's like yeah it's working they're very popular in japan oh yeah forget about the um whoever put out that story of like they're very popular in japan they got like a number two most popular group in japan or something but it's just been overkill with them i've been saying it for a minute but um and matches have been solid uh one of the talking points is how much people have not liked these jakely matches or that that tweet that uh came out of all of uh daves rating for jakely match i'm like bro these matches aren't that bad bro i feel you know dave hates the shit every time i hear a clip he's like no just wasn't good wasn't the worst match i don't think it's not great i don't think that the matches his matches have been great but i have enjoyed his his new presentation i do think he fits with uh the war dog i haven't hated it but it is funny that people are so down on the jakely matches meanwhile dave at finlay has been one of the highlights of this tournament he's had several good matches so far i saw we got to run back our pop from last week where we're like finley i don't know about this guy i was nervous about him because the presentation hasn't been the best i think he could work i like his work a lot but i was nervous coming into this but hearing you saying that he's having having a great run is he's no he's been great his hill work has been fantastic um it's not like he's looking dominant uh but his hill work has been fantastic most of his matches have been good because he works really good as a heel you know people working behind against him has been he's been great um he knows his role yes and i i think he's worked it to perfection and i mean really he was good in a g1 last year but i just think this year he's been he's been great um he fit he feels his role very very well um the other uh story here and i i've seen that some people's uh picked the winness is uh shoda omeno shoda came out and he lost his first match to young upstart uh will asprey protege Caleb Newman um Caleb Newman has been kind of uh pulled in some crazy upsets young guy too um yeah young guy young up in cummer um he currently has four points pulled out the surprise win against shoda omeno on night one and last night he beat shingo takagi yes wow whoa Caleb Newman is here bro yeah my new i knew people were kind of behind him but that's that's crazy yeah Caleb Newman is here bro uh that's exciting but that is cool for him i think that this tournament so far has been great for him it's been a great coming out party for him uh his matches have been dope um but yes the other story here is that people think that shoda omeno can come behind in very night old fashion of starting slow and coming back to win this entire tournament i wouldn't be mad at shoda winning but i do think that you know they gotta they gotta give us the story so far his story is almost is in the loss too yeah shoda shoda lost his first match to Caleb Newman um and then he came out and pulled up uh big shocking win in his second match hold on let me just make sure that i have this correct let me pull up the big the big g1 board i'm getting all of his matches in order Newman hello yeah he pulled up he pulled out his win against shingo takagi in the second match very good upset against shingo shingo has kind of um felt filled that role of looking dominant and having another guy come in and turn around and pull it upset by the end i thought shoda showed a lot of fire in that match um if you need any of like the good storytelling with shoda so far gave kid match is excellent um these guys were wrestling like they really hate each other at one point in the match they're going back and forth hitting each other with these open palm strikes and they are slapping the other piss out of each other it is it is great um they showed so much fire and this gave kid didn't win that match but i mean the story is that shoda hung up hung in with him the entire time he showed a lot of grit in that match um he put in he put in another big win against kritokan but um yeah he's so far as he so far has four points he can come behind and win that is some people's favorite to win i don't know if i believe that again my pick is uh the exact same for junior um but yeah so far fun tournament uh overall best competitor in this match and arguably in the conversation for rest of the year uh konosuke takashita has been fantastic yeah he's been fantastic i still think his magic his match with suji is the best match of the tournament so far um had an excellent match with uh jeff kob as well that clip of him doing avalanche brain buster on kob so so good he don't play um great great match with kob he pulled off another one of those big avalanche uh brainbusters in this next match um against yuya amora and yuya picked up the win in that match handing him his first loss in the tournament so far but yuya had to pull out everything he had to pull out that win man not for nothing yuya could easily win this thing as well he's been excellent as well currently has six points right behind evil and sex labor junior um i think that match he had with uh takashita was excellent um he's had other excellent showings where he showed a lot of fire and came behind it picked up wins um all of that stuff has been great like i said just seeing it what these young guys are doing seeing uh uh both old legs show out seeing uh they said calum nomen show out seeing showed us slowly coming to his own seeing gave kid growing to a bigger star all of that stuff has been the story of the g1 so far that sounds like uh the purpose of this is really working out of them needing to get new guys over they lost some of their biggest stars in the last year or two and they just got to continue to establish it's all about sticking the landing though like who wins this and what they do off the backs of it but this is a really good sign yeah uh yeah good tournament so far um hero key go-doh is another one where i swear every time he gets into g1 he turns into tournament go-doh and he's a different he's a different beast he's had some great matches here so far as well and alright man alright so freaking cool to me his theme song is awesome he comes out he beats up people uh he's the perfect guy to be the never open weight champion he kind of feels that he feels that role so well um i love his new look i love everything about what he's doing love his presentation um yeah there's so many guys here like i said i'm a new japan fan so some of this stuff that i'm just excited about some people might not be excited but i was watching some of this like yo new chaman might be back buddy he might be back i was the kid night five wasn't my favorite i mean you know they all can be winners but so far i've been enjoying the g1 i think it's been a lot of fun so far evil don't do this to us kiddo el fantasma was having a tough time i think the story of him last year um leaving bullet club and having a fine new family and uh that was the story of the tournament last year and then getting to the tournament this year and all of his friends left he's only he's just left with jatto and he's trying to find his way again as a baby face um i think he's a great uh baby face for new japan i think he's one of those that they just got to invest in man i think he can be an excellent single champion i wouldn't mind him being like global champion or something it's going to be interesting seeing what comes out of next year and what they do with nido and who's going to run the show over there and there's a lot of a lot of ways they could go yeah i think if anything this tournament has shown that yes time to move on from nido that's big love nido the crowd still love this guy still as popular as well but yeah it's just time to move some new blood into the main title picture um and i think it works with him being in that spot so if you do get to wrestle kingdom he's still champion you still can use that as a marquee match and still use that as a way to to put the next guy over um but yeah he hasn't looked great in this tournament it's kind of sad to watch but you know by the time comes for it's all man it's just unavoidable yeah he's established himself he's a legend but like eventually that's what the game is uh just just in case you were you were confused as to was it was night five that bad the main event on this show was evil versus nido uh some other matchups from this show were sonata versus gave kid which it was fine it was a good match uh sonata picked up the win show the umino versus gradle kind which was kind of like it's kind of a i'd match up for this show and uh zach saber versus jakely yeah all of these matches were kind of like uh sound like a night five show for sure definitely it was definitely a low it definitely wasn't as fun as the rest of the tournament has been and that main event that finished that main event was like why this what are we doing but one tournament so far uh yeah well depends on where do we want to end here so we still got some super chats we still got uh we can get into some of this tag team gauntlet for night last night yeah we can get into ring of honor we got more to talk about for ring of honor so let's talk with about smack down and then we'll finish with ring of honor works for me uh wwe tricked us they never do that they tricked this they tricked me into thinking all right this show is going to focus on the tag team wrestling because um straight away we had this stuff from last week with jade and bianca coming into this show and um i thought that was going to turn into them getting the confrontation with the witches they were going to get the tag match and uh they did they came out confronted albin isla don and they did the usual the heels come and beat them up from behind why they're looking at the titan's drawing and you know jade and bianca got the upper hand and it's like stop ducking us give us our title match i was like great put that on a summer slam card no it's awesome it's not smack down yeah yep i i just want them to put those belts in the prominent spot i just want them to give those belts rivalries that matter um i just don't know and i don't think they like tag team wrestling over there because even on the men's side same thing yeah it just feels like uh it felt like this a clash to castle that they're not done with bianca and jade's a tag team right and i do think they're going to win those belts back i don't know if it'll be next week but it's inevitable they're going to win those belts back totally um but the big meat of this show was the tag team gauntlet match um uh the gauntlet match can be a great vehicle uh we've seen that with stuff like kofi Kingston we've seen that with like seph in 2018 um it can be a great vehicle um the way they started depending on how you book it yes the way they started this show though i immediately knew where we were going and really you could tell where they were going uh the week that diy won the belts diy won i won the belts and as soon as they won the belts jacob came out and jumped them and everybody in the ring and made the entire he beat up tall four he beat up both teams made everybody in the match just kind of feel like chumps and so i knew straight away okay well they're gonna put jacob in the tag division somehow because that's what they do when they kept doing it with brian brian ended up in a tag match and he ended up as tag team champion so i i just knew that this was coming um they started the show with uh uh tom tomatanga and tomgaloa and solo pulling up to the arena uh tomgaloa is still wearing the big banditian and ipatch uh selling that i gouged from last week which is so silly um but nick all this is saying all right we're gonna disqualify you because you don't have two competitors for the match if tom tomgaloa is not there but of course that meant that's the excuse to put jacob in the match right now do i think all of this is dope because it's a good way to continue to put over jacob and make him feel like a bigger deal they can feel like the biggest threat in this table yes i don't think you should do it at the expense of tag team wrestling that's all i was gonna say i'm like yeah we should be doing more things to get jacob over but i can see the riding on the wall you're just gonna have jacob beat everybody up and that's not like you should just have him be a singles champion if that's what you want yes so the second this uh this gauntlet started i was like okay bloodline i'm gonna win yes like from the very beginning i was like bloodline is gonna win this so but they threw some even otter booking choices in here because we started the gauntlet with uh corbin and apollo cruise which is a team that has been just thrown together from nxt and you put them against an established team in legato del fatasma that i think that they should be doing more with because both of those guys are excellent uh guards is a fantastic wrestler fantastic heel character and humberto is extremely talented they're great together they have great chemistry so i thought okay great this is a good way to give them the platform here and show people how good they are nope they lose straight away to apollo and corbin of course cuz why not and then you bring the street profits in at the next team you know a team that could have benefited from working this heel team and they don't it was an interesting choice right away but again they told you where we're at with tag team wrestling in this gauntlet that tag team wrestling isn't really the focus of the thing it's getting to the bloodline when how we get there doesn't matter it is not a matter of you you know putting over the established tag team um i not for nothing i thought that the gauntlet was entertaining i thought that apollo looked great in all exchanges he had with montes because it's apollo he's if you give him time to wrestle he's gonna show his athleticism he's gonna show how incredibly strong he is um he had back and forth with montes that i really enjoyed um i don't understand teaming him with corbin at all i think that they have some they had some good offense together but i just don't think that they work as a team why are they a team i don't know when i see people on the town i'm like these are great tag table where they put them together and i'm like yeah well yeah and i mean it's so clear that it's not a team where they feel like equals you know right it feels like this is a way to put corbin on tv he needs somebody next to him so that he has a tag team they come out to corbin's music it's like it's very clear that this is this is corbin's bit and if you need any more proof of that they lost of course corbin did not get pinned apollo got pinned and that's how they lost i mean again it was fun i thought that the exchange between him and test was good Angelo Dawkins continues to be incredibly underrated he was great in his exchanges as well they did some stereo suicide dives and some great spots in this that work they do this bit where apollo crews throws corbin out of the ring and as a tope cool i guess i but yeah street profits move ahead street profits face pretty deadly next up pretty deadly is another team that i thought showed a lot of promise coming up from nxt establish tag team but again that is not the point of this match to put over established tag team no came in and they work smart they went for a bunch of pins right away they came in and worked worked the work the way a tag team is supposed to cut the ring in half kept tes on their side of the ring all of that stuff was great felt like tag team wrestling we're here and it felt like when that was happening i was like hey i sure would like to see more of stuff like this that tag team against a very good tag team is street profit so in that vein great street profits beat them and move on next team they face is the oc we all know the oc is gonna lose again strong strong strong way to keep the street profits in this match and make them look like valium baby faces um separating them from bobby lashley hasn't hurt them in any way i don't think they've missed a step they're still just as popular with the fan base it just feels like the fans are just waiting for you to do something with them right anything and i i still think that beef app works perfectly with them if they keep her with them moving for it i think that that's great because i think the three doesn't work very well together yeah i think they do need they like beef app is needed they need a little extra something but you gotta they're a still over tag team that people want to do something with so you got to execute you can't just let them kind of be in this low state of nothing for this next couple of however long because montes can still be one of the top guys we talked about it for years of like if you got away from that tag team he could be world champion so what's up yes all of the all of the building of having them go through all of the hill teams to get to the end it made the street profits look good again made them look like valium baby faces they worked a very good match you again see how good those two guys are but it was just so predictable that they were losing um and it it wouldn't have felt as bad if you brought the tag team in to be a tag team right the whole point of bringing g o d in i thought what's to use them as a tag team and you straightaway tell me oh we're not going to use them as a tag team we're just going to put Jacob in here and make this a vehicle to continue to put him over and in that vein it was successful but if you were looking for this to be a vehicle for tag team wrestling that is not what this was my question Philip Lindsay they're going to go over next week i don't know and is that leading to bloodline all having doubts which means solo is going to be Cody that's not I don't think that that's where this going I think that that's the bait and switch in all of this okay i think that they're setting this up to make you think that that's where this is going but i don't think that that's going to be the outcome i could be wrong definitely but yeah the bloodline come out last they are the final team in the gauntlet um just like i was saying it was corbin they came out to Jacob's music it was a big entrance meant for you to focus on Jacob but to he really carried his team in this match um which is the point that's the story he's been doing that since he showed up he is the guy that carries the beat down section segment he clears the ring um he looks like the most dynamic performer his offense and everything looks great right the way he reacts to solo is great um and amen i gotta give solo is credit i think he's great in this role i think you're not supposed to like him he's supposed to be a fraud he's supposed to look like a big goof and he does um there are bits of this match where he kept interfering and doing stuff and it was just so so funny man him him coming up to the to the apron while the ref was distracted and like punching on my toes and then turning around and doing like the shadow he's like he's got like this p-code on it's all a bit funny the funniest thing about this whole thing is like when they were talking about Jacob coming in remember the controversy is like he's gonna overshadow the whole group and anyhow the point the bit it's worked but i've like solo more since Jacob has shown up you know what i mean like yeah because he's helped solo character yeah get into a higher place you know yeah he i think he fills his role very well i made the analogy uh last night on the post show that if uh the original bloodline was very much like you know good fellas godfather like those kind of mobster movies i mean they even referenced good fellas in that commercial like it has that vibe to it um this version of the bloodline very much feels like cmb brothers it feels like a new jack city it feels like the way they dress everything about it it's just a completely different vibe and i think it worked for them um i think the segments they end the show on with like the promos with like all the smoke in the background i think it's a great presentation it works it it it works for solo where they're telling a story where when jimmy tried to take uh roman spot you didn't take him seriously because he was jokey joke he just you didn't take him seriously and solo from the very beginning always felt like he could be a threat as the enforcer that's why he was made the heir but the second roman is away and you can see this guy on his own his leader it's like oh you're not the guy either you're not roman nobody none of you guys can fill his role right yeah and that it's making it more apparent every week of like you want jake up to be the guy but he's also not the guy like the the head of the table is still roman and every little week is adding on to that for when he comes back to the biggest pop-up a long time but yeah this did what it's supposed to do uh the street profits fought hardest they could at the end of this match but they were worn out they had already faced three teams to get to this point um and boy jake up dominated um there was a bit at the end of the match where i was like i hate this has to be utest yeah i hate this hat anyway because he got absolutely annihilated that didn't match he he got hit with the flops got hit with that big the big pop-up uh samoan drop um they they did the DDT spot that they've been doing every week with uh jake up now where you know he he pops up right afterwards because again samoans have hard head and then he just got right into it and just started beating mathes down hitting with the pop up uh samoan drop hopped up on the top top of the turn buckle hit the most beautiful moonsault you ever want to see got air on it mathes was almost all the way in the middle of the ring he got he got all the way out of the ring jake up's crazy with his double job moonsault yeah he looked great um did everything was supposed to do to make jake up look great bloodline of course win here they are heading into a match with diy next week diy just won these these titles two weeks ago smackdown before a big pay-per-view not a good sign for diy maybe not a good sign uh that they have not gotten nothing they haven't gotten a run yet with belts and it doesn't feel like they're gonna win this match next week i have the theory that uh we're supposed to feel like it's a fork on conclusion and everybody thinks the bloodline is gonna win but they're actually not gonna win because for weeks now the bloodline has been getting the upper hand on cody beating him down every week um he comes out there and tried to fight four guys by so and gets beat down one of his allies gets beat down um he talked about that in his uh interview and i think the point of that is he's gonna show up this week and he's gonna help diy win i think he's gonna he's gonna interfere and help them retain that see the story like that is but then that'll lead me to believe that the next night they're gonna screw him out of the belt though i don't i think that he's gonna i think he's gonna help diy win and i think at the pay-per-view we're supposed to be worried about cody because now all of his allies have been taken off the table right ordin is gone kl is gone um but at the same time if he does help gargano win that's a way to get gargano on this show cleveland right so maybe they come out and help cody later in the night which of course then leads to roman rains possibly showing up at the end of the event okay you got me you got me so maybe that's where we're going but i also would not be surprised at all if diy just outright loses totally that is definitely an option because i was surprised when they won the belts i'm like damn they finally put these guys over so yeah they're also trying to continue to get us to buy into uh a possible babyface turn for austin theory i don't know how was that's gonna work um i don't know uh i did think the terrence crawford segment was good because waller is great at what he does yep but trying to get me to be getting theory as a babyface it's going to be hard yep yep yep yep um really hard let's see the last pay-per-view like doff sigler or nickname it he has this story this underdog story that needs to be told it's like so confusing will also says it felt like they saw mr. ipatch can't do a low blow and they said we need jacob but tomatanga yeah it did feel a little bit like sit this one out champ all right that's what it felt like to me yeah like yeah you know maybe we got this it's cool yeah we don't need you yeah and then he also says i was lacking so hard when jacob was screaming i love solo i love you that was really really funny he he's standing up on apron and and first of all the camera is right next to uh jacob and uh tomatanga and tomatanga is still doing a growling yeah that itself is funny but then it does this like extreme close-up on jacob as solo is outside the ring interfering in a match he's just like that's my tribal tree i love you solo i love you i love jacob and he's had such a crazy man i love it so much but yeah definitely and that's why you know i don't like that again this is being done at the expensive tag team wrestling and i do think that they could be doing so much more with smackdowns tag team division but also i just love seeing jacob on tv i love seeing him in the spot they are clearly invested in him and i think that that is a great thing and watching this whole thing i was like man i can't wait till we get to the big matches like jacob against roman like all of the big opponents kevin Owens i can't wait that's gonna be a lot of fun jacob and roman's gonna be insane that's gonna be crazy i was hoping that they were gonna do the k-o match at summer slam but with the way that they're going i don't think so yeah i i could see it happening later down the line maybe maybe bad blood or something because i feel like k-o and orton might come back for the save at summer slam but i don't feel like they're gonna be like officially on the show yeah that's all of our superchats appreciate y'all nope we got one more just kidding uh tony p um really really good show i'm sure there'll be some more discourse about uh it being a long show um there was some good stuff on a pre-show and the main show i didn't watch a lot of pre-show did you see any of it yeah i watched the uh the whole pre-show off rip they had a couple of um ring of honor regulars on there like the infantry was feature septico and them um just uh a really good crowd starter nothing to really write home about but uh the pre-show was super fun if you're gonna check out the whole thing i mean get a big story for an pre-show is that we got uh mason and mansor oh yeah yep big money manny in the building uh shout out to big money manny um i thought that they looked good in the spot they were in they um their debut and that promo that they did after promoting the match tonight with FTR has me super excited about them coming in i think the tag division and all every company in the world needs a boost and these guys are gonna come in and help them immediately being sprung into a match of the FTR tonight has me even more excited i'm excited about those guys coming in just because of their personality and what they're gonna add to the division really great signing yeah yeah um yeah what i saw them i i'm excited to see what they do next um yeah it's very funny to me that uh we made fun of our last co-host because he did like the maximum male models and we both choked on them and now they're over there that is so funny to me you know i totally forgot about that that was a bit and now i'm thinking of some text messages that are extra funny right now i'm like oh yeah of course yeah dude that's hilarious i forgot about that that's so um yeah but uh we started with uh beast more toes versus commander yes flippy flippy stuff definitely what my co-host like um there were some crazy spots in here man commander doing that springboard poison rhino there's spots that this guy does that i'm like what like you if you do just want like if you just did a poison rhino in the ring no springboard it's already nuts but to do a springboard version of that is insane mortos is uh one of the best base in wrestling the way that like commander shit is crazy but when you got a guy basing like that and catching like that it makes everything look even better when uh he does that top rope press slam thing that always looks insane it's like how do you have that control over two guys are standing on the top rope and you press slam him over crazy bump that commander has to take um mortos when he does that topay that's also a fucking corkscrew whatever it's like how do you he's a he's deceptively big but he's also not that it's kind of he's like a crazy wrestler in his style and everything really really insane got the big win there uh to start out it's kind of a ROH tradition or a ROH lore of starting out with like a super hot match either some kind of six-man or some are just like hot ass lucha and this is the way to do it yeah i thought this was great now like you said mortos picked up the win mortos reminds me of uh Marvel character puk from alpha flight because he's like he's very stocky and big but he's also like not as tall as you would think he is right and he does all of this like sucra acrobatic uh flippy springy stuff as well um yeah i thought this match was a lot of fun uh bortos is going to be wrestling hologram tonight on collision that should be a lot of fun i know one of the best base i said so it makes a lot of sense that he's going to be the second match of hologram yeah hologram i thought had a good debut uh on collision last week um and our homie gram is having a great bit online bit if you've if you've never seen aramis wrestle i was saying that when he debuted because now you know it's pretty much out there that this is aramis um aramis uh it's fantastic um i've seen him wrestle in person a lot here in chicago yeah um he used to wrestle for warrior wrestling a bit they used to have their like big lucha showcase matches and he was incredible in those and so i was not surprised when i was seeing him wrestle in collision i was like yeah this guy is the homie used to get down on lucha underground too so no surprise that there's that connection too they love lucha underground there's a lot a lot of lucha underground lore and uh aw yeah well he was he was dope uh i'm looking forward to the match with beast mortole tonight it's going to be a good collision tonight we'll get into a little bit of that too as we yeah uh we got the tag title match up next uh undisputed kingdom uh defended their belt against the conglomeration uh kylo riley and tomahiro ishi a lot of big chops a lot of uh what you'd expect out of a um matt taven and mike benet match um i enjoyed it i thought this was great this is when i i liked what was happened i liked the pre-show and i liked the first match but i really started to fill the spirit of ring of honor with this tag match the kingdom are just so synonymous with kind of the tail end of what rehring him on a representative for honey on mod before he bought it they're just so synonymous with that and they're matt their match type in ring of honor is just so great and it was on display here like the spirit the true what ring of honor feels like in its prime like this match was giving up those vibe kylo riley represents a lot in ring of honor ishi even so like all the elements were there but really these guys just like had a great tag mac anytime he's in there just doing his bit of i'm a badass i'm gonna chop the shit out of you i'm gonna brain buster you i'm gonna headbutt you like that's always great taven and benet though like their chemistry that they've had for so long and when they get locked into we're in our high spot we're in our it's our time to show you why we're the tag team champions there's not a lot of tag teams that are better than this they fucking killed it this match was awesome yeah this was a lot of fun it did definitely remind me of the ring of honor shows before the acquisition it did feel a lot like the spirit of ring of honor and it was kind of why i was excited that they finally put the titles on the kingdom but i was like man use them on the show actually build do this vision around them do this this is what i wanted to see on on the uh weekly show as well so hopefully that's where we're going with this um they don't seem like they have any immediate plans with undisputed kingdom on a w so man let them work on ring of honor well we gonna with tony con said after the presser is gonna lead to some other questions and answers about ring of honor but uh yeah we're on our way yeah very very interesting um we got absolutely crazy uh texas death match my mind is still blown Layla hirsch took on diamatte this match with absolutely nuts both of these women gave it up man i thought they they put on one of the best matches of this weekend um again man the women over there whether it be ring of honor or a w uh proper man killing it man they have been great i know how uh great both of these women are and they've been locked in this field for a while but this match the sleeper match of the show first of all let me say that um the way the intensity that both of these women brought off rip like off entrance you're like okay they're they're all something else right now they they they feel like they're about to get into some blood feud and then they get into the match and there's all this plunder there's thumbtacks there's a thumbtack chocolate at one point there's both the women are bleeding Layla ends up hitting an insane moon salt off of a ladder onto diamatte through a table like this is like these women are fucking going for it it felt like a gritty women's matches aren't like this usually and so for them to get the opportunity to both be bleeding and fighting each other and just going for broke amazing i was like after it's over like standing up in my room clapping and shit i'm like no black why are you clapping let's upgrade this match yeah um i did a i did a list of uh what are the like best gimmick matches in a www for for bleacher report and the texas death match has kind of become the second at least the second most consistent a w gimmick match yep become a very very big staple in a w programming at this point it's like adam page's signature match um and we've just seen so many great examples of the texas death match whether it be with a w ring of honor um it's i think for them it's the enterkitty and arena match and then texas death match and you probably could throw like the dog collar match in there somewhere as well but that's been one of their most consistent matches and it feels like every time they find a way to not just do the super violence but they they find a way to make it unique to the two competitors in the match yeah and i thought that they did a great job uh both leila and diamatia making this feel unique to their characters uh doing the chonkla spot doing the you know the the barbed wire to the outside we've seen so many of like the barbed wire match oh the big fucking samoan drop off the apron yes that man i was brutal there were so many great spots like that in this match but again felt very unique to them i felt like even starting the match with leila coming out with the chair and sitting down right at the at the ramp like yeah come on come out like i'm ready to go and then starting immediately with a big table bump from the ramp i mean that showed you right away where we were going with this match like started out real hot and i thought the finish with excellent i thought it made leila look great that moonsaw was absolutely beautiful great incredibly dangerous um uh yeah diamatia coming out with the chonkla like i said hitting her with it and then doing the chonnway but wait there's more that comes back with the thumbtacks really really great stuff um really love this match the intensity both ladies had just the whole time of diamatia off rip was like i'm about to kill this bitch like i don't care about nothing then leila being like you're gonna have to do everything in the world to kill me you better bring a damn truck like just great chemistry great everything from these two women so blown away yeah um big leila fan so um i really love that she's getting this spotlight i hope that she gets more opportunities like this with spring of mind and moving forward because she's a really really great talent um but i'm kind of wanting her to be uh red's next feed who we're going to talk about a little bit here i'm like maybe she could be next on deck i wouldn't be mad at it um we got uh lee moriardi versus willy euter coming up next this was uh feel like it's been in the making for a while they've wrestled a few times they had the proving ground match um of course if you're familiar with them before they came to a w they had the iw tv independent wrestling match of course that's that's the match where you to beat uh lee right to win the belt so you you've already built this history up with them that uh euter has been this mountain that lee couldn't quite get over more than once and we're already behind lee of wanting him to finally win this gold and he's been doing this great thing on this social media where he's been counting down every pure champion up to this point and basically calling this shot like i'm going to be the next pure champion um so all of that you know it didn't feel like they had this great build on tv but just because they had already have this history it was kind of like it already has this inherent build to it yep and so when we actually got the match i thought this match was very very good to nobody surprised if you've seen these two wrestle before yeah this is another one of those spirit of ring of honor type thing the thing the bit that lee was doing counting down the champions is like a classic ring of honor type bit that's what that's what i really liked about like they weren't they didn't get a lot of time to tell the story because willer was out for a while but the way that they brought it around and the way that lee did that was a great way to get into the match but then the match happened and again another spirit of ring of honor it's a pure wrestling match they really are implementing the rules to know that you know about rope breaks and you know that it's different than other match types both of these guys are tremendous pure wrestlers so you already know that was good thing but like the way that they smartly worked the match and they used uda strengths they used lee strengths like it all just really connected together this moment felt good uh phil and i have talked since fucking this podcast has started about us wanting lee to have this big moment and for him to finally get a big giant moment on paper view he's kind of prepared us for what it was going to be and then to get the victory that was awesome i love that yeah uh man they did so many really smart things in this match i thought it just was a very expertly worked match from two guys that are very good at technical wrestling and again like we were talking about with taven and uh and Bennett how they were staples there before the acquisition lee was just kind of getting his feet what would bring of honor right before the acquisition they were using him more he was doing stuff over there with gresham so this felt like the logical next step for him at some point i was just waiting like all right put this guy in the pure division that's the move and so when i saw he was getting a match this this weekend i was super excited for it the match did not disappoint um i thought the finish was excellent um playing off that both guys did not have rope breaks left and uh very smart for you for a Moriarty to use both both both ropes has leveraged so cool to use that as a pen i thought that was a great finish even uh you to at first being salty because he forgot and going like no no no no he used he used the rope as leveraged but it didn't matter there are no rope breaks so it was completely fair for him to do it this finish i thought that that was great um there's several bits of it that i was like man when he threw you to out that ring and the way he crashed down on the apron i was like oh my god oh that bump was crazy yeah we sometimes see that apron like roderick strong doesn't apron bump right that where he does the big belly to back and then he'll fall down with them but lee just dropped him over the top rope onto the apron and the way that his the sound that his body made and just like yeah man yeah that just uh i was like oh my god please be okay it felt like a tit for tat type thing of like uh will ever hit a suicide die then lee hit a suicide die willer attacks an arm then lee's attacking an arm like it was like a great back and forth contest really like you said smartly worked match yeah but even at point throwing him out straight on his back and then immediately rolling him back in the ring and trying to work the back trying to get a pen attempt on him while he's still hurting from the apron spot and and that contributed as well to why he was able to pin him that way because right you did that big uh back suplex right before that um yeah really really really good match man i i love this match um and so man i wanted lee to get this big win for a minute so very very happy for him i think it was very telling to see how how happy the timeline was for him uh that crowd was saying you deserve it people have just been wanting him to get this big win for so long so this was the right outcome for it i think yuda has been a great representative for the pure division three-time champion had that flyer few with garcia uh he's had great matches with shabada and all these other things but man just glad to see lee Moriarty is finally getting that spot well deserved man he uh he's been weathering the storm and just working to get better for the last couple years and you know if you believe in yourself and you really think that you should be in the positions eventually you will and that's what happened with lee shout out to lee rann well deserved yeah very well deserved um i was very pleasantly surprised by the ring of honor lemurs television match and finally surprised this was one of my sleepers for the night i did not expect this match to be nearly as good as it was um we've talked before about how great red velvet has been back since she came back from the injury crazy she just looks like she just has a different lease on her career she's awesome she has more snap on her strikes and everything um that new finish she does is great um she's just it just feels like she's got all of her offense working all of it looks so crisp and uh impressive now i think her presentation her entrance it just feels like she's finally got it all working yeah that's what it feels like the most glaring thing about red velvet is like when she was out it feels like she was really just working on her in ring everything is so tight now like she was great before she you know before she got injured but coming back like she knows her positioning better like all the moves are hit better like she's just a better pro wrestler off of whatever kind of training she was doing and it was super prevalent in this match last night her and starks were like starks was taking on this like veteran role and like the powerhouse and like controlling the match but red velvet fighting from behind her strikes her like elusiveness like just really made for the match it uh really surprising result um but red velvet with everything we're describing here in the work that she's been doing and every match that i've seen from her since she's returned has been like a really good match so it's also not that surprising like she's kind of earned this yeah i think she deserves it uh billie was very funny in this match i thought she came out looking like uh wanted a maximum off from an evolution with her black trench coat and her black and red gear she kept doing like these maniacal laughs and all of these like really funny expressions and everything her hero work was great in this match it was i thought playing off the finish from supercard of honor it was also very smart um she tried to pull the fast one again and fake the neck injury and uh got hoisted by her own baton and imagine because uh red velvet faked her out uh laid in the match she thought that she put her out and she was waiting for her soon she got on the turnbuckle um through her off the turnbuckle when it's her finish i thought that that was a great way to play off while the stuff was billie and it made red velvet look very smart it made her look competent she was getting her shit off several times of this match she was talking her shit oh yeah she won and billie was crying she was just kind of looking at her like it wasn't even like she was gonna wait and like raise the belt and walk away she stood there the whole time like nah i won this match do something um like after the match went when billie gets out she's like trying to walk up the apron and crying and grams open it's still like laying up against the rope like yeah i beat your ass yeah no i feel like that she's sitting on the ropes like yeah what did you guys expect i told y'all was gonna pull up and beat her ass and that's exactly what i did her confidence in going into during and after the match i'm like oh yeah red red is doing this this is why she's the champion because she has that championship spirit yeah i think her um the heel run she went on with the baddies helped her character a lot as well so and you can see that kind of edge that she shows as a baby face um i that's why i also think she's got the full package right now i just feel like her confidence is through the roof um like i said she looks great out there the wrestling looks good i'd her finish just it looks unique i read and mercedes i'm pleased i thought that several times throughout this show that there were wrestlers on this show that i want to see go up and see yes but yeah that this was uh yeah this was a pleasant surprise i'm glad that red got the win um like she said very well deserved um i feel like she's been overdue she's somebody that i wanted to see when the tbs title eventually but uh this was a this is a good spot for as well and i thought she could honestly win this when they originally announced the tournament and she was and she was a heavy favorite to win anyway so like this is a super surprising great for her congrats yeah i the billy stark stuff is interesting i think we'll get into some more stuff with billy after uh we talk about the next win this match but um because i'm thinking to some other stuff now i'm like okay yeah yeah i think they're might be trying to run it back we'll see yeah we got a then we got a lemonator match next for the six man attack team titles uh the vinairex teamed up with uh dustin rose to face dark order um this was a fun match it it's crazy that this kind of felt like the cool down match after the win match um but it served its purpose it was a good way to get the vinairex on the card to get that big texas pop um also having dustin out there as well i i thought this served its purpose yeah it's uh uh additionally i was like why was this match on the show it could have maybe even been a pre-show match but you know vinairex and rose pop in texas ring of honor a lot of connection there and it wasn't offensive match at all like it's a six man dark order also represents something in ring of honor so like it made sense and it was a fun match yeah i thought it was fun uh dustin and vinairex one here they're going to move on to the tonight on battle of the belts uh then we got the survival of the fittest match for the ring of honor world television championship uh elanis jr defended his belt against leo rush shay taylor brian cage lee johnson and johnny tv this was a lot of fun that the this was one of those uh ring of honor matches that have kind of stood the test of time where it it can come off silly but i thought that this match was a lot of fun mm-hmm yeah this is one of those there's a fine line between what this could be and they usually break it down to it's just one on one and the other guys just kind of fall out or you know hang out around ring and that could get a little bit frustrating but i thought they worked this match pretty well and having elanis as the the champion i think is pretty strong and fun you know considering the cmm uh cml ties uh the meet chance with cage and shane taylor at our fund there's a lot of fun elements in this match yeah i i like the whole story of uh this is elanis his first big defense and he's got a kind of survived his big field of guys he could easily get eliminated at any time he doesn't have to you know he could easily get pinned early in the match and lose his title or you know he could end up getting tired out through the match and lose at the last minute um you had johnny and brian cage teaming up at one point and that could have you know cost him the title um it was just so many elements to it early on uh leo rush was doing leo rush things i've been all over the ring um i thought he was a lot of fun to watch he got eliminated uh pretty quickly um by shane taylor early on uh it i was surprised people booed right away yeah i thought leo was gonna have a kind of wronger run in this match but i understand for what the match what what story they were trying to tell and yeah and i did i had that wrong done i didn't shane taylor get eliminated shane taylor is the one that he has shane taylor got eliminated first and then leo got eliminated leo got eliminated yeah but leo getting eliminated led to them announcing a great match for tonight also leo rush and pack is gonna be happening on collision so that's fire right yeah yeah i add the order mixed up but yeah shane taylor got taken out first by leo rush and it seemed like the crowd was on shane taylor's side so when he got eliminated the crowd started booing but then lee johnson eliminated leo and they booed that so i was like well wait a minute what are you what are you looking for all right they want all their guys to win yeah but man i was so impressed with lee johnson in this match man he continues to thrive in these big matches i thought he looked good in the Fletcher matches um when they've given him spots on the pay-per-view he's looked so good and he's one of those as well that i'm ready for them to put in a prominent spot he has a lot of confidence Phil and these big matches it really shows like he doesn't look out of place ever he always looks like he's supposed to be he looks like he wants to have more big moments man he's yeah he improves every time i see him yeah he was a lot of fun uh the rest of this match was kind of the back and forth with johnny tv and brian cage trying to uh aligned to get the rest of the guys out they they teamed up on lee johnson to get him out of the match um and then of course uh brian cage got johnny tv out and then it ended with brian cage and lantis jr lantis jr retained here uh yeah very fun match i enjoyed this a lot brian cage is another one of those guys where um if you give him a spot he's gonna excel and he he looked really good in this match as well um johnny that's the match he just needs to get a shit in his same line he's gonna do it every time he was a lot of fun in this match i thought i thought that everybody really had their spots where they looked good mhm it's showing yeah good showing um for me probably night match of the night was a tina versus queen amunata and i feel like we say this quite often was bring a lot of pay reviews right at this point that man at tina is just so good man like a broken record she is really been like the focal point of this error of rankovina she's just been an excellent champion um i tweeted before we got on here that um a big part of her career was the oscar feud and how a lot of people wanted her to be the one to break oscar streak and i feel like they've missed that chance and it was just weird that they never went back to that i still disagree with charlotte being a one to break the streak i i never thought that should have been a case i thought they had the chance to do it with it with the what the thing and they didn't so it is very very ironic that at tina left the company and she's had this oscar esque run with ring of honor she's now coming into this pay-per-view 52 and oh after the night 53 and oh um what a run i mean her resume of matches with ring of honor has been just amazing it's uh i haven't seen a lot of people that are just locked in that are so confident that like dominate the brand and like you know what's going to happen in her matches but like in a good way like i know like if athena has athena and queen nominata are having a match it's going to be fucking fire just because athena's all the way locked in and all the elements are going to make up for the way that she has confidence the way that she works and looks and improves on her look and the presentation in every match is different like the way that she knows that she is the best but then she always executes it in the match this match was incredible these two women were just trying to beat the hell out of each other the way that amanata uh her strikes and the way her positioning is insane but athena is just so relentless it's like you're gonna have to we've seen for the last year and i have that you're gonna have to kill this person to beat him you can't just have a regular match you can't hit your regular finisher on her you can't do anything regular it's gonna take a fucking army to defeat her and it's just great to see honestly man this is her brand she's dominated it for almost two years now she's established ring of honor in the new era as hers and with every match she adds on to that legend and yeah i love this the the fucking tombstone pile driver onto the stairs the uh um athena is just different man i just yeah we're blessed to be able to see her do her thing you know what i mean yeah i thought her her entrance was great um including lexie in entrance was was great uh queen amanata of course came out and then when they were doing the presentation at the belt at the beginning and lexie of course at the ring announcer um queen amanata just kind of pushes her way past and like get out the way and lexie it's like how did i think everything about that is just uh proof of your point that ring of honor feels like her show the fact that you have the ring announcer and all of this stuff a part of the story the billy stuff is still a big part of her story and her presentation it doesn't feel like anybody else on this show has like a complete thing that is a part of the weekly show as much as she has like ring of honor is her show it is like it's the it's the main reason to watch the show um i mean everything about it the storyline of her coming in of using uh the injury scare and you know doing what we've seen so many wrestlers do and coming out and saying well you know i have this injury so i i'm afraid i'm going to have to hang on to this title forever and never give it up i thought that was really really good and every week she comes back and adds more time to it actually i'm going to be up for six months and then next week actually i'm going to be up for a year so funny yeah uh yeah but this man so so good very hard-hitting match uh insane spots in this match these women were hitting some crazy crazy moves on each other at one point queen amanata hit this crazy airway crash on her and i was just like oh yeah uh and that wasn't even a craziest that wasn't even a craziest spot it just came out of nowhere that was like what oh the fucking tiger driver 91 that she hit she almost killed the thing you guys will osprey has been doing a bit every week saying he doesn't want to do this move and then amanata just hits it on Athena and kill fearlessly um i mean we we've talked a lot about how good a thing is but queen amanata is really special man insane she is so so good her presence is like i can name like five people in all of wrestling that have presence like this like she is different man she has the presence um her strikes look incredibly convincing um she just makes all of her moves feel like they matter it doesn't feel like she's just out there just doing moves that don't feel effective um and i mean the way that these two women were laying in the cheat shoes i was like bro yeah this is like some taper when you look at like what Athena wants to do with wrestling and she talked about how thunder rosa inspired her to keep going and what thunder rosa was doing with wrestling and how it's not just like all right let's just have a good match for the women let's have a great match let's just let's do what the men do like you said with the tiger driver spot like let's do some crazy stuff like i don't want to hear the oh my god i hope she's okay or can the women do that no this is wrestling and like seeing the women do this it with the same kind of vibe we got from the willow matches of it's like no we're going for it we're gonna have the best match possible we're gonna try and outshine everybody does it matter manner or woman or whatever you're gonna talk to us like you talk about kitty and brian and all of those guys yeah yeah totally i loved it this could have easily ended up being a main event of this show again i thought i thought it was the best match of the night um the like said all of the spots they were supposed to feel effective the the big power driver on the steps these women were just legit beating each other's ass whatever what a great showing by both on offense to defense i think throughout the entire match since the urgency on our monado like i know a lot of people haven't beat her but i'm gonna throw everything in the world at a theme that they're trying to beat her and a theme that just being the most confident fucking number one wrestler in the world and not letting her just a great story again yeah uh hitting her with that big tiger driver and soon she hit that tiger driver i was like well thank we're thank we're done for the night queen i'm not as your next champion and then of course right afterwards the building comes running down to the ring uh i like to finish for this too yeah interfered um left uh left the theta with enough time for lexie to hand her a mic which of course plays into the beginning of the match in the presentation where she bumped lexie to get past her and theta used the mic to hit queen obonada and stagger her long enough to hit the o-face and retain the championship really really strong match um probably one of my favorite matches this year yep easily um just incredible the story is telling there doing uh billie coming out to help her billie very much healing it up to the rest of this i think the story here is that as theta has created a monster in her that's eventually going to grow out of her control and you saw a little bit of that in the press conference afterwards i think at this point uh not only was it the right move to put the belt on red velvet to give red velvet the moment but i do think that billie is going to be the one to beat the theta yep you know when uh the match would when billie lost the match i was like wait that doesn't i wasn't expecting that but then when i saw the story they started telling with the theta and then i saw the press press her i was like oh i get it we're getting yeah like we thought that that was a red herring the match from last year with uh uh starks in the theta we thought that was going to be it but they're still leading back to starks beating yeah i and i was very confused back then because i was like why didn't they just give billie the win but clearly i still had more story to tell and i like what they've done with this um and i and to to go back to my point earlier uh they didn't give a thing to that moment with aska like they were supposed to i don't think they're going to make that mistake with billie i do think billie's going to be the one that breaks this streak and that's going to be the thing that makes billie let's bring up on it totally totally yeah that was uh they're they're getting around to it that's what i think it's it's just long-term storytelling yeah i i think that that's maria i i would have to assume by final battle that's probably going to be the match billie versus athena and um depending on where we are because when we talked about it and i asked rhapsody um somebody asked us could athena lose here and move up and my question immediately was like well where did she fit in because you've already got so many story lines going i don't want her to just be in something for the sake of and then she's got to take a loss it doesn't really work um but if by the end of this year you're ready to do that and if mercedes is still champion listen man athena versus mercedes for the tbs title that is the move buddy i want that match so so bad that is that's the move out of all of this shut up and take my money you can have all my money when do you want my money here it is if you make that match then it's going up i think that athena's brilliant a good stock for herself you know what's super interesting that i thought off of the backs of all this and and and talking about athena crossing over into the main roster half of the people on this show last night phil have been announced for collision no athena and thought though like the main event before we even got to the main event they're like tomorrow watch mark brisco and watch roddick strong on collision tomorrow watch leo rush on collision tomorrow watch b smarttos on collision but athena there's like it's not the same at all like this not like like she is they're not like okay tomorrow you get to see athena she's just stuck on this show you know yeah they've been doing that for a while and it's it i don't know why they do that but it is very frustrating that we do see all the other wrinkle vinder champions come up everybody else from this show is gonna be don't see athena athena was in the the on last year but other than that they don't bring her up and i don't understand why like half of the roster we washed on death before dishonor we're gonna see tonight on collision but not athena at all nothing close so yeah i choice um main event mark brisco took on roddick strong uh i think uh mark again has been a highlight on a w television i wish that they would use him more on wrinkle vinder because he's he's another one that just represents the spirit of this this brand um the brisco's are you know fixtures on rOH and so seeing him main event this show it just feels right i know i said earlier uh the women probably should have main event but just seeing mark in this spot and going against another former wrinkle vinder champion and roger strong it just it felt like that was probably the right way to end this show i've made mention of it a couple times on this podcast i'll talk about wrinkle vinder but the true fucking spirit of wrinkle voner mark brisco like it was on display here like yeah i kind of agree like if athena and amanata were the main event it would have hidden it would have worked but mark brisco and roddick strong working at 2003 rOH main event where they're bloody and they're striking and they're beating each other's ass it felt like all right this is ring of honor's book like this is again what when i think of ring of honor i think a match is like this i think of a bloody brisco i think of roddick strong chopping the shit out of each somebody backbreakers like everything that was encompassed here i think is what gives me that nostalgic ring of honor vibe and especially kind of what led to what tony con talked about in the the presser and rumors kind of surrounding it that felt like a fitting way to end what could be that chapter and what that ring of honor represents it's deep though you guys there's a lot going on yeah very very strong match i great match yeah mark mark of course retained he is still your ring of honor world champion i wouldn't have uh i would have been really surprised if they took the belt off of him this soon yeah i think rydie was a good challenger they played up several times during this show uh could he win and uh all the undisputed kingdom would have gold going into the trio's match and they could all end up double champions i didn't really believe that going into the main event but it was a good way to build up and and try and get people to watch battle the build i suppose there isn't really only thing only issue that i have is there's not very many world title challengers in ring of honor and i think that you're saying i think they should mark brisco should be a little bit more focused or whoever the world whoever they have is a world champion should be more focused on the show if that's what's going on but what ring of honor ring of honor did last night what they do best it's like you could talk all the shit you could say whatever you want but when it comes to big shows when it comes to the bell ring when it comes to fucking wrestling they're gonna do it and they did it at a high level yeah i think mark brisco is really the mvp of this week of wrestling for a w sir competing in the blood and guts match and main eventing this show and performing well in both i think he was really like mvp of this week and like i said double blade he bled in both of those matches yep and he's wrestling tonight and he's wrestling again insane yeah really really fire show man despite what you may think of ring of honor on a weekly uh level your complaint for the weekly show or or ballot but the paper views always deliver man their pay reviews have been very very consistent since the acquisition and this was another strong pay-per-view um we got a very interesting quote after this very interesting quote uh ring of honor will officially be under the a w umbrella it pretty much was that already but changing the name is um gonna be very divisive for some people yep that's gonna really the writing has kind of been on the wall for a year at this point and uh i don't think they're gonna do two it's not gonna be like the most drastic change when it officially happens but the name being a e w presents ring of honor or whatever it's gonna be is gonna change a lot and and i think that the the uh the mission statement and what r ohh has been representing is gonna change but i think it's gonna be for the better like yeah uh i'm kind of of two minds about it because i do think that they should just lean in and make it to feed a brand at this point because that's basically what it is that's what it is and i i think that you know they just need to allow it to have its own identity that's been the biggest problem with ring of honor it's weekly television for over a year at this point it needs to be its own brand if you're gonna make it the developmental brand just make it that but give it its own identity and i the thing i like about doing it at the eastport arena is it has it has a very definitive feel to it it has a crowd specific to their shows i think this is the way to go moving forward put it in front of those kind of crowds give it its own specific feel in its own identity now i do kind of worry because uh when you bought the company it kind of had this uh vibe to it uh all right you restoring ring of honor and giving it to spot now when you make it hyphenate it or you know colon it feels like all right well it's just an extension of the company that you really care about your main focus is AW that's been very clear and ring of honor has been an afterthought in you booking AW um so i can very much understand somebody that might have a concern okay well what does this mean for the company moving forward does does this mean that it's going to continue to just be an afterthought and if the champions are using something on your main show that's always going to take precedent over using them over there yep i mean if everything kind of has to change if that's the the spirit of it like you can't just change the name and continue to run the same show that you've been running like it has to be some kind of real concerned effort to to make it like if it's going to go full uh development system for NXT essentially you have to like make an effort to tell us you know what i mean it just can't be happening yeah but i think you're in the step in the right direction with the champions you crowns last night um going with somebody like Lee Moriarty who is a guy that would get the best out of kind of a developmental atmosphere he's a guy that you can keep on that brand and use him on weekly television uh Rev Velvet is the same way you can keep her here um there's no need to constantly keep using them on the main show you can you can make that their main show and build their feud on that show uh que que nama nada i feel like is another one where you can eventually put her in that spot on the show make her the main champion um whenever you're done with the that's the other part of this is i do think Billy's going to be the theta yeah but you set up enough where even when the thing is gone you still have enough story stuff between Billy and queen nama nada and that could be your next big feud going in the next year totally and i think that if uh what we're trying to establish as a feeder system and and what the future of AEW like having Starks be the champion of this rebranding with Rev Velvet is makes a lot of sense she's young she's built she's been built up in this brand like it it kind of fits yeah i think it fits a lot um actually immediately there were so many vibes i thought of NXT watching the show it's so funny watching those things flipped and that's again why i said it's funny watching the theta thing here where she's having this this win streak here because um we're coming from a time where black and gold era very much was mimicking rank of honor you have the opposite where rank of honor in some ways is mimicking what worked with NXT but we have to think about how does this happen that's so funny or that like uh AEW when they moved NXT to TV to compete with AEW and now essentially they're making something that's like NXT it's like all these things like connecting together is so weird yeah it's crazy but yeah i think they're pros and cons to this totally i hope that this leads to the weekly show feeling like it's it's its own thing now and i think you have the talent to do that i think you can establish the tag division and there's other stuff you can build to make this work um i hope this doesn't turn into gloom and doom talk but i'm sure that it will on the internet because it always does yeah i mean he could they could do this for two months to be like this sucks we're killing your your honor forever you know so that that is also always an option and there there's a certain sec of AEW fans that just don't and will never care about ring of honor and that's fair so i mean i'm just interested to see what happens uh more effort put into the weekly show this still could work this still could be a really dope thing they just have to uh work on it yeah definitely some stuff to chew on after the show but uh really really strong pay-per-view great night of wrestling yeah looking forward to the next pay-per-view at this point because again they always deliver i'm kind of wanting to coming uh laron fort says if they're intentionally keeping a thinia uh fina off of a w tv then they should be made up she should be mandivating all the ROH paper views as the face of the brand she essentially is i mean she's really the main draw of wringavana right now yeah like out of everybody she's on every single show like it's different she had the biggest storyline going into most of the paper views and then broadway joe says righty is great but would have loved brian in that spot he should main another ROH show before retiring um yeah i would love to see brian over there but then if you also tell me that this is their developmental brand at the smaller feet of bran right he feels too big for that brand at this point yeah i feel like in the future we're going to see less and less of that so yeah i feel like we're going to see less and less of the big a w star going down there you're going to see more of them just trying to build up a certain sect of town and then eventually some coming up like yeah the indexy way just like we're going to see uh starks built up we probably will see nick wane over there eventually like they're going to get like their young people the the uh lee johnson's like all of those to really develop them so when they get to the main rosser they're really ready it's going to be it's going to be good it's essentially going to um when they tried to crucify me last year when i said that this show was this show that's what it's really going to be they're just saying it out loud now you know i said it a year ago and they said i was crazy they do that a lot with us man we'd be saying things and then later on it looks exactly like we said it did and you know there's never an apology there's never you were right about that but nobody's in my dms right now being like hey when i was calling you a dumb idiot last year you actually aren't an immediate but you know folks were calling you nasty all kind of they were talking crazy about me it was it was crazy man people looking where we are people throwing wild shots and i was just kind of looking like you know it ain't that serious you can't just shut up it's all right that's pretty easy i mean i'm like people on the shore showing me that exactly what this is but whatever you know whatever hey man that uh that phenomena of people getting mad at us about something that we both know that
