Nat wasn't paying attention as much during one of these episodes because he was cleaning, but you'd hardly notice. After Sam and James spend too much time explaining all the inconsistencies that Nat didn't notice however, our three heroes finally get a well-deserved six hours of slee- SIX HOURS?! THEY ONLY GOT SIX HOURS OF SLEEP!? What psychopath was in charge of scheduling? But after that, all is right with the world, as some new blood arrives, and the fellas watch an absolute BANGER.

Welcome back to the Bintin podcast that nobody asked for. I am Nat. I'm Sam. And I'm James. How are you doing Sam? It's 2am in the fucking morning. And I did not sleep well last night. Nine. None of us. This has been truly an amazing experience, but also in hell. It's dead to ten minutes past two in the morning. Yeah. Oh yeah. We just watched Midnight Madness, which on the DVD and on Netflix is the first episode of season 3, my IMDB has it as episode 2, but we've watched it. It's our episode 1. Midnight Madness. Ben falls on the hypnotic spell of a wicked hypnotist whose evil grand scheme for all gotten gains gets an unexpected boost from some alien help. First episode of season 3, what do we think? I mean, it's all right. And it was a bit of a slow boring one. It was OK. It just compared to what we did in last season. It was a very strong one. I think the ending sequence was really nice. Aside from that, like, did not much go for this episode in my opinion. The fact that IMDB says that 10,000 doesn't mean to be the first episode of the season makes a whole lot more sense. I am so sad we did not watch that one instead. Yeah. I'm kind of glad we did it because I would like to be interested to be able to talk more about it. With this one, I can just be like, it's fine. It's probably spoiler lessons. This is probably going to be near the bottom of the list. It's one of the episodes I've seen quite a few times. I think as a child, I don't know why. I was like, I can see some three, like, a lot of heavy hitters in terms of episodes. Yeah, this is not going to be-- This is not one of those ones. This is not going to be a favorite of those ones. It's a fine episode, but it's, I think it takes them, like-- When they say, like, the watch turned out-- Oh, sorry. They say the watch turned out snap's been out of it. And he's obviously been-- is made to work so hard that he's billy and unisly. But from our experience, the watch normally times out after about a minute sometimes. Yes. It doesn't make a lot of sense that it's not timing out way sooner than that. Yeah. But it's actually quite interesting because we've-- In very similar shoes to being right now, being awfully deprived and working 16 hours on this silly little side project of ours that is driving us into madness. Would you classify this as work? I mean, we've been doing this for 16 hours. Not really. Oh, awesome. This is-- Do you want to watch episode two? Yeah, let's do it. No, I need to sleep. It's like, it's not that it's not taking effort. It's that I'm watching a show I'd like and then ask to talk about it for 10 minutes. It's not hard. Hey, but that's what streamers do. And they make the big bucks, don't they? Yeah, well, that's really, really fun. So any highlights of the episode? I like Wildvine. I actually will say Wildvine was good. Wildvine was quite good in this one. Actually, you know what? I'm going to flip it back. You're telling me you're quite like Wildvine? You're telling me you didn't like upgrades part? I love upgrading everything he does. Yeah, I know. But it's basically in this one, he does some whack. Like, it's cool. What did he do again? I was off watching a dish. Oh, he like, he like, take control of the clock. And it like-- That's right. Yeah, it's got like 10 to cools coming out from it. And he also took control of the helicopter, which made it very cool. And the bulldozer, like, he does some wild stuff as a fan. My boy. I had something to say. It's lost to me now. Give me a moment. I'm sorry. In the episode. Oh, yeah. So Ben, how Ben escaped the hypnotization at the end was a bit weird for me. Just him hiding behind a wall stopping it. When, like, everyone else in the wall was getting hit. I think it needs to be direct line of sight. It looks like they had their backs to it. Yeah, and even he keeps getting hit with it in the RV with everyone else. No, that's not him being hit by it. That was, it was implanted when he did the show. It was implanted subliminal that he'd always. But didn't he use the mini watch? So the mini watch is what activated it. Yeah. So when he wanted to help, because he had hit it at midnight, but he actively hit the watch that Ben sent out that ray, like before everyone was done. And then when he finally got the big cox to control everyone, he also hit that button because that's what the end sent backwards. That's right. No, because that's what Ben used in the end to resend out the signal. Yeah, it's just tied to the big watch. No, so, no, no, no. So the first place. Yes, the first time he being got hypnotized subliminal like used the powerful watch. Yes. But when he did that, that implanted subliminal idea to make them go sleepwalking and follow his commands. So he, they didn't need to be, it didn't mean he didn't send out a signal every night. He did send out a signal. He did send out a signal. No, there was a scene where we saw the RVs and the big signal came over and went through. That's why I'm saying it trail through the RV. I'm doing too much cleaning when this episode was. That's what I'm saying. Because it traveled through the RV walls. Obviously people in the mall are going to be in the stores and stuff like that that are going to be in close spaces with walls. But Ben just ducks behind a pole and is the only person in the entire mall to not be controlled. I'm saying things isn't a good episode of Ben 10. I don't think it was. I don't think it was. I don't think it was really wild. Is that I, for a second, contemplated trying to come up with the reason why it would have worked and then realized it's 2am in the morning. And I'm not going to defend Lazy, right? Whoa, guys. Okay, for our three listeners, that might not have understood what happened. That's true. Cover your ears. Sam just took a dig at the writers of the show. Oh, absolutely. Take good. Oh my gosh. This is an episode. This is a new Sam. So here's the thing. There's those episodes that it's almost like it's tied to your console. Meaning that every time you turn on Cartoon Network and you want to watch an episode of Ben 10, they're playing an episode. This is one of those episodes for me. And I would watch it because I like Ben 10, but I wouldn't really enjoy watching it. Yeah. Because it's not a good one. Oh, yeah. So it wasn't an episode. There's no, the bad guy is a hypnotist who wants to take over so he can get all the stuff from the mall instead of, I don't know, going and just hypnotizing a bag with a spot watching any more money. Yeah. Or, or, and then it's like, well, what if he needs to build all this stuff? I'm like, yeah, he doesn't need to build this stuff. It's not like he could go to a factory and control everyone there. Oh, what? He can control management and then do it like that. I mean, and even with the old couple at the start and that cold open, like, being hypnotized suddenly taught them Kung Fu? Hmm. Hmm. Okay. Also, also got to, got to point this out. This is an old show as we know. He's got like, when his face is on the monitor, he's got this stupid ass head camera. Go from it. It's not a go from it because it's like, it's like a full on angle and it's like, yeah, it's the size of the security camera, which is like, instead of nowadays, you would just be holding off an iPhone. Yeah. This episode is from 2007. Yeah, I know, but it's just funny. It's just funny to see. Like, it's a really dumb picture of him. Is it? Yeah. Oh, no, December 2nd, 2006. 2006. Really? Well, so they put up two seasons in the same year. I mean, they started the second season. Oh, wait, wait, wait. Season one was in 2006, wasn't it? No, season one was 2005. I thought episode five was 2005. Season one started November was November. Episode one, November of 2005. Episode two, January, 2006. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah. So, so they squeeze season one, two and three minus the pilot into 2016. I know what you're saying. Yeah. I wonder if... That is impressive. I wonder if they ordered 26 episodes at a time. Perhaps. Finneas and Ferb was broadcast over eight years and is technically... Is it four seasons? It's four seasons broken up. Yeah. Yeah. And then, of course, this is the famous thing about how iCarly's second and third season is actually just one season that was split over two years. Well, do you want to just see? Was season four in 2007? Yeah. July, 2007. So what about the end of, was there a mid-season break? Eight, eight, 12, 2007. So, they had June, they had, there's two months in between the broad end of season three and the start of season four. I think it's possible that seasons one and two were ordered together in seasons three and four were ordered together. Yeah, even in that, that's four seasons and two years. That's, yeah. And less than two years. Yeah. That's 2005. Yeah. Man, they almost have been working around the clock. Yeah. It sounds like that it was two orders of 2016 because that's, that's basically 26 episodes a year. Alien Force became 2008. Really? Hey, probably 18th 2008. So, that I feel like maybe they ordered in, then they were like, hey, can we have an agent mark? Also, can I just say my favorite part? I think Alien Force was just like season five of Benton. They just knew what they wanted to do next. Yeah. Yeah. I want to say, my favorite part of this episode was when Nat looked over at me and realized that I was still doing the stats for this episode. I just, I just thought you would be too tired. I, I expected you'd go, you know what, we'll just think about tomorrow. Did we see that it gets zeroed out? Then obviously it'll be zeroed out next episode. I think the implication is like just how in Vilix would touch it, he could make it do stuff then. He was touching him and switching to aliens for him. He didn't get zeroed in that game. I thought he had only switched it once. Didn't he? He switched it to cannibal and then he switched to diamond. So my history with Ben 10 was it must have come out when I was like eight or nine or something. How old were you modern? Ninety nine. I'll see you when you were six. Yeah. Really? Yeah. It was 2005. I'm 99 as well. Hi. It was 2005 but it was like November. The first episode was November or December of 2005 and then February of 2006. The rest of the season. So Cartoon Network must have replayed a lot. A lot. A lot. A lot. It was the first four seasons we've done in two years. And then we found out that they started the next one 2008. No, I think I think it was 2005 to 2007. Do you remember the Monday? Because near the end of 2007 and then 2008 they started... Oh no. Yeah. Like Monday. Because I remember being... I must have been in year five of some things. Because I had two broken cycles we kind of worked out. Well, maybe year six and I was about to turn ten years old. I was like, oh man, I'm going to be as old as Ben 10. Oh yeah, no. And then Alien Force got announced at age 15 and I'm like, are you choking? I have to wait until I'm 15 to be like Ben. And then by the time you get to 15 I was not at all interested in Ben 10. No, no. I think I was still watching more. What game team was coming out? I watched Alien Force like a bit. And then I think I remember watching like a little bit of Northman Alien. But I think I did also an Alien. And then they... Okay, no, yeah. I probably... I enjoyed watching it when I was... They did like a really kid design. Omniverse. Omniverse. Yeah, Omniverse. And I just never picked that up because... Oh man, you take everything I loved. You've destroyed now. But no, I was kind of saying 1999 just like very similar. Just like re-watching. Cartoon Network which constantly show. Did you ever get into that curse where every time you would turn on Cartoon Network Ben 10 would be shown? But it would be the same. Like I said. Wow. And you've seen that one episode of... Time. I honestly can't remember. I think it was like Channel 42 or something. Oh no, yes, Channel 42. Yeah, let's watch Channel 42. Because Disney was 40. Yeah. Nickelodeon and 41. Yeah. Cartoon Network was 42. Yeah. Just swapping through all three of us. I don't even remember being like a hundred and something. No. Like whenever I went to my grandparents like Disney was a hundred and one or something. It changed to that, yes. Okay. Maybe that was like, that might have been when I was 12. Yeah. Yeah. You're a young person. You don't remember the voice you did. Yeah. With 2000. You guys are 99. No, no, no. When you were into my cousins. Channel 42 was so much terrible. No, no, no. I must be thinking about it. Because like, you know, I've watched Disney and stuff and all those channels. It's a hundred now. Until like 12 or 13 of the grandparents. So like when I remember every time I was at my grandparents it'd be like a hundred and then I like cycle up. Yeah. And then you go upwards. Yeah. Like I would definitely think my majority of watching when I was in like 42. Like I remember it being 42. Yeah. But yeah. And then you get older and then you stop watching network and Nickelodeon. There's the channels much. Like all the, you know, all the shows that I used to watch just either stopped or they would like just replay from a certain point. Yes. No new stuff would come out. And then you grow up and you know, you kind of just. Yeah. So replays were really weird because it always seemed you would get the same episodes. Like it's almost like as a, for these months we're going to be showing the selection of episodes. Yeah. And we're not going to rotate through the whole show. Just this section of the show for like the next three months. And you would just get that episode over and over and over. I wonder if that was intentional because they were like certain toys that you were selling well. So they're like, we got to put out the episodes that are specifically about this character so we can get their toy off the shelf. Oh, one thing I just want to briefly mention when we're talking about cartoon characters. Does anyone else remember? I think this is when Cartoon Network must've been struggling. But basically they would have these problems where they wouldn't have enough ads to fill in the break time between shows or like this kitchen room was off. So it was just a checkered background. Yeah. With rotating boxes of characters. Yes. I must have watched that for like, I think 30 to 40 minutes one time. I'm just waiting for a show to come on. Wow. That's, that's crazy. It's like a ESPN thing. It's just like just replaying gambling ads. Yeah. This was a good episode though. Yeah. It was much better than last night's. A great way to start it. That is the day. Yeah. I have a coffee now. I feel great. I feel like I don't have cafes. So I'm just trying to really live in the moment. So, wait, you'll crave it. Yeah, maybe it will. I'm looking at that blue V. I'm like, I haven't had one. And like, almost a year. And I'm just like, oh. The time is currently 9.55 a.m. Just putting that out there. Can't be that. And we went to bed at like, yeah, 2.30 a.m. Got it. I got up at 8.30. Crazy people. I don't know. Did I wake you guys up with that? I heard you come down. I was already out. Yeah, it was like that it was listening to music and bombing his butt and shaking my bed. And then like, I sat in my jury in my hallucination. I had sat up to lean closer to him. And in real life, I sat up and went close and I was gone. I was like. I was down and I'm sitting down on my beat. I'm lying down on my beat. I swear to God. I also heard just like in the background, some musical cues for being dead, just running into the back of my hand. It's just ingrained now. It's when I came down here. I saw you guys. I was pacing back and forth for 10 minutes because I'm like, I don't want to have to wake them up. You didn't want to go like bad. I was like, I feel really bad for what I'm currently doing. Well, yeah, I just didn't respond at first because I wasn't sure if it was you coming down. Like, I had the steps and I thought someone else was walking out the door and I hear someone come back up and I just looked like that over the bed. For our audio listeners, I just looked backwards and almost tipped the chair over. I did not notice that. I like lifted to the front door. I didn't mean to. It was a mistake. I swear. I swear. But yeah. No, it was a, I guess it was a sleep. When that came downstairs and I heard you. When I heard, I think I heard you get up and I was just remember thinking, "Surely at 7.30 and I can just pretend I sleep so I get another hour." I just keep waking up and going, "Okay, one hour closer." There's a depression I got when that said, "Oh no, it's 8.30. We need to get up." I was like, "Oh." We're going back and forth. I'm sorry. Oh no, this is great. This is exactly what I was going to do in my weekend. I will say like, when I realized I'd woken up, when I achieved a little consciousness to be aware that I was, I was just like, "I want to go back." I don't think you realize how draining this would be. I did. I did it. I don't know why, but like, when you see, we can't stop. I thought, "Okay, he's been, he's exaggerating." Well, of course we'll have time to stop for 10 minutes. No, we don't. We really don't. Like, the episode's gone long. Yeah, we need to move on. No, we need to catch up. We're running behind.
