Coming up, I'm going to be talking about a brand new Marvel series about Nova. Some originals have been removed from Disney+ plus also an update on Kingdom of the Planet, the 8s. Before we go any further, make sure you do hit that subscribe button to keep up with the latest Disney+ News. Hi and I'm Trudger here from what's on at Disney+.com. It's time for quick Disney+ News round ups. Let's start off talking about a brand new series which is in development at Marvel Studios, which is Nova. So this one has been rumored for a while. There's been lots of talks about it. If you didn't know if it was going to be a movie or a series, it was still very much in that early stages, nothing officially confirmed. However, this past weekend, Kevin Faiye, who is the president of Marvel Studios, and during one of the interviews that he did for ComicBook.com to promote Deadpool and Wolverine, he confirmed it's happening. He says it's happening, it's coming together, Richard Ryder, yes. When asked if he was going to be a movie or Disney+ series, he confirmed that it would be a show. However, Kevin did go on to say that it's not going to be out for a while. It's three or four years out. So earlier this year, one of the big other executives, Brian Wunderbaum, said that they were developing the series and they were trying to do something with it. So now we know it's coming. Now, I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is officially given the full logo treatment at San Diego Comic Con at this coming weekend. The fact that Kevin Faiye has been open about it, I think that's pretty safe to say that we're going to get a rough idea of when it might come. As he said, three to four years away, so it's going to be a way off. But yeah, I think we'll have that one officially confirmed. I think this could be a great series for Disney+, it can explore the cosmic, go off to different planets and stuff. I don't know if they'll do like months of the week or if this will be something where they can kind of just do the intro for the first season. But they can also, generally now they're trying to plan for multiple seasons. So maybe there's something they can do away from, you know, the upcoming saga, which looks like it's going to be based around the X-Men. They can kind of do something completely away from that. Or they could bring him to Earth and because they've done stuff as well, like with Spider-Man, he was in one of the animated series and stuff. So lots of options with Nova. Now, as regards to being three or four years away, we are seeing a drastic reduction in the amount of shows being created for Disney+, by Marvel, probably only going to be getting one or two a year. So therefore, you're going to look at it. They've already got Agatha, they've got Iron Heart, Daredevil, and also Wonder Man already in the can. They've also obviously got plans for a second season of Daredevil and whatever they're going to be creating. So in some way, it does make sense that, you know, a couple of years away is, you know, if they put out two a year, we're already into 2026. And if they've got other plans as well, yeah, I think that's probably right. I'm probably not going to start filming for a while. Maybe they introduced a character in another film or something. I don't know. I think they might just leave that one and just do it all in one show. I think that's probably the best way to do it. But Nova, it's happening. But again, a long way off. And as we know, we're a lot of the Marvel stuff. Just because they talk about it, it can still be a very, very long way away. But I'm hoping at coming, at San Diego Comic Con, we're going to get a bit of a better update of what the current phase is going to look like and where this will might fit in. But I think it might even be possibly even the start of phase seven when we start going into that X-Men era. But let us know. Are you excited about a Nova series? Would you like to know more about this? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this in the comments below. Shifting years now, let's now talk about a number of removals of originals that have been taking place here in the UK and across Europe. These are generally Asian originals coming from Japan, also Indonesia, and Korea. So far, we've seen in the impossible air, the dragons of Wanda Hat, my home hero, Maestro, tell me that you love me. The wedding agreement and wonderful world have been removed. Now, this is only in the regions. They're still available on Hulu and Hulu on Disney Plus in the US and across Disney Plus in Asia. They've just been removed here in Europe. Now, this could be for a number of reasons. One of the key problems is we have here is we kind of have to kind of have a quota. So there has to be a certain amount of content that is created within Europe. So therefore, if you're getting these shows that are just kind of creeping up, you know, if they've just put, you know, there's like eight and nine there that have just said, they might then need an extra one or two European shows to kind of do the quotas. So therefore, if they trim off some of the stuff that's maybe not so popular, it saves them having to put on and license more international original stuff. So if the numbers are not quite aware, also, the UK sides will go through quite often and just kind of trim off some of the stuff that's not being watched, try and save money. Again, it's kind of, it's a bit of a pain, but my general view is they probably want to remove these if they weren't popular. If they were people who are watching them, they probably will have left them on there. It is strange that these have only come off in Europe, which makes me think it's more to do with a quota than just particularly saving money, because if they were, if they were writing it off like they did with a lot of the other originals that they did, like Willow and stuff, generally, they were global really removals and they all went everywhere. The fact that this is targeted, I think it's more to do that, but I could be wrong. But let me know. What do you think of these originals being removed? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this in the comments below. Shifting gears now, let's now talk about Planet of the Apes. So earlier this summer, we saw the release of the brand new film Kingdom of the Planet. The Apes did pretty well at the box office. It did quite well, was recently released on digital platforms. It's coming out on home video like DVD Blu-ray at the end of August. Well, today, when I fired up Disney Plus, you've met with a big logo saying it's coming to Disney Plus here in the UK on Friday the 2nd of August. It's also, I've gone in and checked as well. Same thing for Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. As of the time of recording, the US hasn't put it up there. I predict and I'm pretty sure that it's going to be at the same time. Now, I think it's probably going to be a Disney Plus release rather than a Hulu release. If it goes to Hulu, it'll go to Hulu and Disney Plus anyway. The fact that they put that special look up, but also more importantly, there is not a huge amount of stuff out for Disney Plus in August, so I think this will be the big new release. Again, as of time of recording, the US release hasn't yet been confirmed, but I am 99% sure that will be it. If there's anything different, you'll find out. But yes, I'm guessing that's going to happen. But yes, I think this is a good thing. I thought the movie was fantastic. I was lucky enough to see it while I was on holiday on Disney Cruise Lines. I have a big theater on one of the decks. I went in and watched it there and really enjoyed it. Loved it. I thought it was great. I watched it again when it was released on digital. I think this is going to be a major new release for August. I think it makes sense for them to do it at this time, and then they can hold off them. I would imagine more likely going to see inside out to maybe around Thanksgiving time. They're going to give that on a little bit longer because it's just about to overtake Frozen 2 as the biggest animated film of all time. If we don't include the live action version, which is nearly 99% all animated, but it looks like it's going to do it. This is amazing. They're going to keep wanting to get that over the summer. They're not going to want to get that one out. Plus we've got Agatha and some other things and well coming up. Lots of great stuff. Are you looking forward to watching Kingdom of the Plantly Apes? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this in the comments below. Let's now do our question today, which comes from Samuel, who asks, "What is the difference between Hulu and Disney Plus and Hulu by itself?" It's a good question, and you might not be aware, so especially if you don't have Hulu or you don't know what it is, or maybe even you're outside of the US, you don't quite understand what's going on. Hulu is its own separate streaming service. It's been running for a long time. It was originally created as a way of bringing together lots of the studios together and they're all contributing while trying to compete with Netflix. Over time, they all pulled away and wanted to do their own thing. Eventually, when Disney purchased 20th Century Studios, they managed to acquire additional 30% of Stake of the Company. They gave them 60%. AOL, Time Warner over there were called at the time. It's 10%. They came down to Comcast having 33. Disney had the rest. They've now done a deal where they're trying to buy out the remaining little bit. It's all going through the negotiations to get that done at the minute. That's the legal side of it. There's this own separate streaming service. It has lots of original content, most of which is released as star original stuff around the world. It shows the dropout, dope sick, only murders are building, the bear, etc. Those are all the originals. Obviously, it's well with this one. You've got a lot of licensed content. You get all the great stuff that comes in from ABC, FX, etc. They've got a deal with Fox, so they get next to episodes of that. They've also got deals with Warner Brothers, Paramount, loads of great content coming in. That is one of the key differences from Hulu to how it works internationally is because there's a lot more licensed content. With Hulu on Disney+, it just means now that if you are a subscriber to Hulu and also Disney+, they have to be on the same email address, the same Disney account, or if you've got the bundle, you can then access the majority of the content through Disney+, so you have to have both subscriptions to be able to access it. Apparently, it has worked really well in terms of getting more people to watch Hulu content within Disney+. There's a lot of content that's on Hulu that is not available through Hulu on Disney+, I think some of the Comcast universe stuff is a little bit iffy. Not everything drops over straight away, and most of the new releases tend to be, but anything that's licensed has got a little bit of a question mark over it. I generally go with the idea of anything coming from Disney Direct. Generally, I know it will be there, but anything coming in licensed could be a little bit different, so that's one of the issues. That's the difference. I will say Hulu on Disney+ a lot, because you still have to have that Hulu subscription. Obviously, it's nice having it now within Disney+. We're seeing the way it's all changing and stuff coming in, but yeah, I think that's the core bit of it really is that it's an additional streaming service, and you have to subscribe separately. Now, I do think that once Disney finalizes its deal with Comcast, we will see Disney merge Hulu and Disney+ together into one. They've already set it up, and then therefore, they can then really clamp down on having one streaming service. They can have the Hulu hub within there, so it's there to keep people happy, but also more importantly, Disney+ doesn't need all of the new originals and stuff that they were spending billions of dollars on each year, because then they've got all the Hulu content filling it up, and they can put out one or two big Disney+ originals every few months, and that will be fine, because then you've got, it's like now. In July, not a huge amount, we've had acolyte, and we've had young women in the sea, but then when you throw in things like Futurama and the Bear and things like that, suddenly then, it's not quite as dependent then just on those Disney+ stuff like we do internationally, but hopefully that answers it. But if you've got a great question, drop it in the comments below, I'll pick out the best one for tomorrow's video. Obviously, we're going to check us out over at what's on at DisneyPlus.com. Like, follow, and subscribe, and I shall see you next time. Later. [BLANK_AUDIO]
