[MUSIC] >> Hi everyone, it's Roger here, from Watson at Disney Plus and welcome to this week's Live at Q&A. It's a big hello and welcome to everyone joining in live. So you can see we've got a few people already in the live chat. So we've got Caleb, Matt and Bubba Trolling and Keener, so a big hello to all of you. So each and every week, I answer questions from our Patrons and also from our YouTube channel members. So they may have to submit questions in advance. Also, our YouTube channel members can join in live and submit their questions as well. You could also use the Super Chat function, all of which help support the channel and keeps everything going and all the like going on and everything like that. So big thank you to everyone for your support. So we've got lots of questions and stuff today. So also, obviously if you're in the UK, there's a big kind of game happening in about an hours time. So it's probably a lot of stuff. I know I just drove past the pub and there's absolutely a big garden. There's full people having barbecues outside in their garden. It's definitely a little bit of a, well, if they do it, they've never done it before, but there's always that hope. Right. OK. So let's kick off with the first question, which I tend to tend to like to do with being the start of up. So I earlier asked, is this plus still feeling the effects of the strikes? And if so, when do you think it's going to end? So this is kind of interesting because obviously last year, we had the actors and the writer strikes, and we've ended up seeing a number of productions shut down for months. This resulted, obviously, in some stuff not being ready in time. So we ended up getting shorter seasons for shows like Raise Anatomy. And just in general, we just saw a drastic reduction in the amount of stuff being created. We also saw them push back a lot of movies and a lot of shows that maybe weren't ready yet. And also just to spread it out. So it meant that the first half of this year was very light on movies and in general, there was a lot less. However, the thing is, is this was a little bit of, I would say, a little bit of a ploy because the studios, including Disney, have kind of used the strikes as a kind of a reset point because they were all spending way too much money creating content. And they were creating too many shows and too many movies for the streaming services, weren't making money. And so they were slowing things down. Disney obviously decided as well that it needed to cut back. And for example, like with Marvel and Star Wars, super hero, fatigue, all that kind of stuff. But also, if you've got five shows in the can and you've got them coming out over one year and you've spent, you know, X amount of money on it. If you spread those same shows over two or even three years, suddenly that same amount of money is now spread across three years and therefore you're going to make some money. Obviously as well, Disney desperately need Disney Plus to be profitable by the end of this financial year. Looks like they will do it. They're not going to do it the next quarter. It'll be the quarter afterwards. All of this is helped. But they've gone on massive, massive reductions. So that's why we're seeing a lot less stuff. You know, they've got rid of billions of dollars worth of stuff. And that's kind of been a situation. Now Disney now are, we are seeing a lot less content. So first off on the Disney Plus side, we are really seeing now a lot less shows, a lot less originals, a lot less films. They are all kind of slowing down. The days of us getting like almost new shows, weekly, multiple shows a week. We are really kind of seeing that drop off. We're not seeing the same. Sometimes it's like a Wednesday or a Friday, we'll go by and there is no major new release from the Disney Plus side. You know, right now we've got Akalik coming up the end of the, oh this week on Tuesday. And we've got obviously young women in the sea. But the next big major release on Disney Plus now is gonna be right into September with the Agatha series. So we're getting much more stretched out. The Hulu side as well, there's a lot less originals being released through that system. Not as noticeable because it's still coming along. And when you combine Hulu and Disney Plus together, like for us internationally, we're still getting how all this kind of moves along and you know, we are seeing a lot less stuff. But this is not gonna change. They were making too many shows. I believe there was like over 600 plus shows being made a year across all the different platforms. Like two years ago, and now it's under about over 400. They have drastically cut back. ABC are making less FX are making less National Geographic. And that is all feeding into Disney Plus and Hulu. The simple truth is they are never gonna go back to how it was. The new numbers of what we are getting are the new numbers of what we will be getting. We might, there is not going to be a drastic increase in the amount of content coming in. Also, I think with the introduction of Hulu into Disney Plus, Disney Plus when it's fully merged and fully operational, will then have new content dropping enough that it doesn't need to rely on those Disney Plus originals that they were spending a huge amount of money on. And I also think this is really gonna help them get out of that situation of being reliant on Marvel and Star Wars, 'cause Hulu can help fill that gap. So like, you know, next month, well, later this month and next month, you know, when we've got things like Futurama and the only murders in the building dropping in on there, you start looking at this and going, well, there's still shows I'm watching. There's still stuff dropping in. It's just not the big one. So the effects are now, they are long-standing. So I think we've kind of gone past the general point of some of the shows that were delayed, but also some of the films, you know, like Daredevil, or Daredevil series was delayed. All these ones were delayed in filming, and that has just pushed everything back, and that's gonna have an impact. I think it's gonna have a big impact on what we're gonna see at San Diego Comic-Con and D23 over the next month, because everything got bumped back. So therefore, they can't be telling us about a load of shows coming out in three, four years time, because they don't need to be doing that yet. Just looking here at some questions related to this. Baba Trolling says, yes, it's gonna affect how Hollywood works, and 82% of the poll is saying the same thing. He even said the strike did impact Disney+ because of some movies were canceled, and Disney+ Originals were removed from Disney+. The strikes weren't really a reason for the removals. That was down to saving about $2 billion. But a lot of the movies have ended up going to theaters first, because they wanna make money. They just wanna make money. Kelly says to answer the question, yes and no, because many films and shows got delayed across the board everywhere, no, because we reached peak TV, as you said last week, even in India, less Originals are being commissioned across to the big three of Netflix Prime and Hotstar, and said we are seeing sub-licensing and windowing deals. I do, and yes, so that's kind. Kelly also said, I do also remember that the Skydance merger deals announced, and he said that the library content from Paramount will be shared along streamers. I could see Hulu's shareings and titles. I think it's gonna depend on how Skydance wants to deviate its content, whether it's gonna go title by title, or who would just do one big deal with one big company. I think that's gonna be how that might work. Kenan says, I don't get why Netflix didn't cut back on its content. They did, they have, because they are now licensing more stuff. You're seeing a lot less original films being put out on Netflix. The simple thing is, because they're licensing more stuff in, you might not necessarily notice it, but I have been told that Netflix has been drastically like doing less, because also it ramped up production because like Warner Brothers and Paramount and Disney, et cetera, weren't making them shows, so they weren't selling them shows, but now they're able to buy more stuff in. They don't need as much Originals, so that's kind of it. So yeah, so that's a big one. So I've actually got two questions about this, but I'll cover it now, 'cause it's starting to pick up a bit of steam everywhere. You know, obviously you might need to do an article on this over the next day or so. Ricardo says, did you hear about the Disney systems being hacked and some material could be released soon? Yeah, so this, and there was, I'm just gonna bring up this question now. Just sorry, remember it's, where was it, here we go. Kayla says, I reportedly Disney was hacked. How will Disney adjust, and what do we as subscribers have to do next? Right, so there has been reports online of this, there has been a hack. And, but, this is on some random like website, no real information seems to have come out yet about what this is about. It's about a terabyte of data. Now the important thing is, this is from Slack. They've got the data from one of their Disney Slack account, or servers or something like that. I don't use Slack, but they've got in there, and they've got one terabyte of data. So this could be a lot of messages, there's lots of images, and files, et cetera. Now, this is why it's from Slack. So therefore, it's not from Disney Plus. It's not from your Disney account. So, there is that thing of, they've not, Disney actually hasn't been hacked, Slack was hacked, and they've just gone in on the information. There might be some logins for some of the Disney stuff, from the stuff of the staff. But generally, this is not a Disney Plus related leak, or hack, this is to do with Slack. So, if you are a Disney Plus subscriber, you shouldn't need to worry, this is more of an internal hack kind of thing. But I would say, you know, and it's like with any security system, if you believe that you could be hacked, change your password, that's the key thing. Pick up a brand new password, that'll stop anyone from being able to log in and stuff. Keep an eye on your credit cards. But you should be doing that anyway. I would recommend you keep track of all this on a regular basis. So, I did see something on, I think it was on one of the social media's today, someone's account got hacked, and they'd like change the passwords and stuff. And suddenly they had an email come through, from one of the people, they had paid someone for access to it and go, "Excuse me, yes, could you mind giving me the password?" 'Cause I've paid for this, and they're like, "No, that's just like you can imagine." But yeah, so this whole hack thing, there's a lot of information floating around the internet. There's a lot of unconfirmed reports. There's a lot of speculation. It's one terabyte of data. Now, one terabyte of data in, you know, people were asked thinking like, the whole of the Kingdom Hearts new game's been released. The whole of Deadpool and Wolverine's there. They're gonna have every single movie released, the next 10, it's like one terabyte of data. It's not a lot. I mean, I've got a, right under this machine, I have like a two terabytes data, which basically is just primarily just full of like videos that I use for B-row and things like that. There's a lot, I mean, one terabyte of images is a lot, one terabyte of like messages is a lot. But in terms of video size, you wouldn't have a lot of videos. And there's no way really of why Deadpool and Wolverine would be uploaded onto their Slack. Yeah, so there's gonna be some stuff, but also the big problem as well with this is a lot of misinformation, because now you're gonna have people just saying random stuff and saying it was in this leak and people are gonna believe them. And there's gonna be a lot, a lot of like false information coming out. I would imagine, I've already seen lots of stuff already, but we need to kind of put a lot of, where you need to put our like, not necessarily a tin foil hats on, but start being very, very, very suspicious of just random accounts, just saying random things and treating it like fact. We have to be really careful. But again, this was apparently a Slack hack. It was not a Slack into Disney Plus or anything like that. So that's kind of where it is. Let's see if there was any questions on this. Nope, that's fine. Ken said, Netflix did cut back on scripted content. And there's a reason why they made a big deal with WWE since they produced the house. And yeah, I mean, that's a really good thing. It's gonna be a big one when it comes in. So soon it says, what do you think will happen when Netflix after the HBO and Netflix deal ends? So with that there, that will be again, like when those deals kind of come to an end, they will be renewing them if they think they get money, if one of us isn't getting enough money, they will then move to somebody else. I mean, I believe they've only just signed it. So it's probably a few years worth. Kenan says a lot of Facebook accounts were hacked. The thing is, hacking is going on constantly. This is going on across every platform, every, everything is kind of hackable. And yeah, Facebook accounts, Twitter accounts, YouTube channel, all of this stuff is there. And yeah, everyone needs to be very careful. Never click on a link from an email, you know, never, you know, just kind of, you know, basic kind of stuff. Set up two factor authentication so you get texts and stuff. But yeah, so you're just gonna have to be very, very careful. But that apply every business goes through this. And unfortunately, we'll probably get some more information in the coming days of what's actually happened. We obviously haven't heard anything from Disney. It's a weekend. We'd actually don't even know what this information is. At someone I know was trying to download it and it was going to say like five days to download it. So we might never know. All right, let's carry on. Bubucks says, why did Disney wait so long to release Deadpool and Wolverine? Merchandise, other companies started selling months ago and Disney stuff won't arrive until after the movie is out. This is a common thing that Disney have been, they do with their movies. They tend to get their merchandise out. Generally, they have like a wave one which will usually come with the movie. Sometimes it doesn't. And then they have more stuff coming down the line. A lot of it that they do not put out first is because they don't want the spoilers getting out. So maybe like Wolverine and Deadpool, you're probably pretty safe for that. They could put that out there and kind of, but they often need months or a year or so in advance. So they have to be, and I mean, they have NDAs and stuff, things are constantly leaking. And toys are quite emergentized. They're quite often a way that we see stuff leak out very, very early for lots of things. So they've been kind of cracking down on that. There'll be action figures and stuff that they will literally, you know, you see it a lot like with Star Wars and Marvels where the action figures are coming out months later because they basically are on the lines of going, okay, now you can start creating and get the process packed in. Also, I think generally, I mean, they got caught out like with Frozen, they weren't having enough out there. But this is quite more, they don't like spending a lot of money on merchandise as much as they're used to getting. And I also, I might do wonder as well, I might do this as a question actually, and this is a good one, so I'm gonna end that poll. So I'll ask this as a question. So, do you buy more or less merchandise than you used to? More, less. Well, actually, we'll do another one, same. I think in general, there's a lot less, I think people are buying a lot less merchandise. Obviously, the economy and stuff make you cut back. I do think as well, kids generally are much less into physical stuff as much as like older adults and stuff. I think obviously, kids still have toys. But I know with my nephews and my kids friends and stuff, they hit like about eight. Once they kind of hit like video game territory of like eight and they start getting into like Fortnite and they don't want toys anymore. They want Facebook, they want credit for robots and Fortnite and that is kind of, I think for like the new generation, there's just a lot less stuff. There's a reason why shops like Toys R Us went down, why the toy section at supermarkets is smaller than it used to be. It's why they are releasing less. I think kids are having a lot less stuff. And I do also wonder as well, as us as adults, as Kayla says, I spend less because I don't have any more space. I only buy clothing that's essential. And this is a thing, I mean, I'm definitely in this category of I have so much stuff. I mean, you can see here, this cabinet is full of Disney animations. Now what I at one point had four cabinets like this, full of them, I still have a couple of boxes. I have stuff, I have literally recently been going through a massive cull trying to get rid of a load of stuff that's just in boxes, in the spare room. I've still got a load of bits of pieces to get rid of. And it is just like, I'm not supposed to say I'm a hoarder because I usually can get rid of stuff. But I do wonder how many of us, it's like the Funko Pops of where we went through that stage of how many people were buying Funko Pops. And now it's like, how many more do you buy now? As Kim says, I usually buy merchandise when I go to events, but not in stores. I'm even just buying less. I mean, I just find in general like, if I, when I used to go on vacation, I used to buy stuff, you know, like pictures and like, tat and little bits of like stuff. And now I generally find I take out, I buy a lot less. I buy a lot less much. I still buy little bits. I mean, recently, when I was in Alaska, I got myself a couple of pins. I don't tend to have a lot of pins, but I decided I liked them. And I picked up a new hoodie kind of thing and a t-shirt 'cause I like it. But generally, that's about it. I have been drastically, the trouble is I spent too much money there on things like war hammer and like maybe like magic, like I've written and like, yeah, I have a little of a problem. Right, let's carry on. Mama says, why do you think Disney condense all of their studios in Disney Plus into a two hour panel? And is it a mistake? And will people live in the panel and not feel, and not lie, feel underwhelmed? Okay, so this is the thing with the, with the 23. So the main presentation is happening on the Friday, the ninth of August in the Honda Center. It's happening from I think from seven to nine or half of seven to nine, two hours. This is a lot less than we saw at the 23 in 2022, where there was a two, probably about a three hour presentation for Marvel Star Wars in 20th century. We also had a two hour presentation for Disney animation, like Disney live action and Pixar. And then there was like a two hour presentation for Disney branded television. So that was like Paris Jackson, high school musical. And as kind of the, the title of the show indicated, they are making less. So therefore they've got less to talk about. So if you are putting out half as much content, you don't need half as much time to talk about stuff. The other big problem as well is so much stuff got bumped back. Then therefore what they can talk about is means now like safe, I think that's probably why they're going to do like, they're doing an hour presentation at San Diego Comic Con to probably shift a few things over there. But it's like with Star Wars, they can do probably something for skeleton crew. Maybe do a little bit of a tease for, you know, Mandalorian and Grogo. But they don't really want to announce anything more after that because they've still got Andor next year, skeleton crew, they're working on a Soaker, they've got all these other pro, like get them, they're kind of going to get them done before they can move on. Marvel, again, next year, Wonder Man, Daredevil, Ironheart, one of them could easily slide into 2026. Again, that situation of they don't need to run a couple of years ahead. I think they probably shouldn't go. I mean, maybe they can set out what they're doing for phase six and close that off. But in all honesty, they keep getting big up burned at the investor day and they got burned at the previous events, are running too far ahead with projects and things change, things happen. And I think they've probably cottoned on to the idea that they can't be telling everybody so far in advance. There were so many projects at the investors day in 2020 that still haven't been released yet, or they're still making. And here we are, four, nearly four years later, and they've not come out and they're still set to come out. They announce stuff too soon and therefore they are playing catch up. There are going to be a lot of people that are underwhelmed because if you're going into that two-hour presentation expecting five or 10, 15 new shows and movies to be announced, the simple truth is they've still got two years' worth of movies ahead of them. You know, Snow White, the new Lion King movie, Captain America Brave New World, Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four. You know, they've got the new Avatar Free. They've got maybe Mandalorian, I mean, they haven't filmed anything from Mandalorian yet. But they've got Elio, they've got maybe Toy Story 5, Zootopia 2. They've got all these projects coming up that they've already announced. Moana 2, Moana Live Action. They've got all those projects coming in the next two years. No point telling you what's coming out in 2028. Now, it's just, it's just no point. Okay, so I think Disney should make a live stream investors' day. Because I remember watching it back in 2022 on YouTube. The thing is with that investors' day event in 2020, you have to think of it. This was a very unique point in history. We were all in lockdowns, in a lot of countries we were here. We couldn't leave the house. Disney had all their theme parks closed, cinemas were closed. The only thing they had was Disney Plus. So what they did is they put out a big presentation basically to showcase to investors, and mainly to the investors and shareholders, that they were a business that was going all in on streaming because that was the only thing that's bringing any money. And they announced stuff way too soon because they had to keep the shareholders happy. And now it's been biting them in the ass ever since. They can't do an investor's day, if they didn't invest as they like next week, announcing the next five years where for TV shows and movies was a disaster, what they did last time, so much of it didn't happen. And also, I mean, in some ways doing all that stuff and announcing stuff too far in advance, it can cause problems. So I do think the movie side, we are very, very, very behind on that. Let's see here, what we've got here. Feige said that indirectly made MC fans miserable over over promising stuff. Unfortunately, he's not a hugger, so hopefully Mickey and Minnie give the fans Disney Plus or D20V hugs. I think the fans are going to be more happy with the theme parks and presentation horizons, because I think that's where all the Disney fans, that's always a really big one for the Disney World area and Disneyland, et cetera. But I think set expectations for D20V to be what we know, but we might see trailers, people there will see clips and stuff. There could be a new announcement of a new Marvel star or a new Star Wars show or a new Marvel. I think there could be one or two, but I am not expecting four or five new shows to be revealed. So that's my thoughts on that one. All right, let's keep going on the questions. Babak says, "Do you think Marvel has given way too much info about Deadpool and Wolverine movie? It seems like there's a new clip. They're very much in last-minute promotion though. I'll be honest, I haven't watched any clips now. I watched the last trailer when it came out a couple of weeks ago. I'm not watching any clips, I'm not, I'm not, I kind of usually do this on movies where I will reach a point where I don't want anything more spoiled and I don't want to see any more. So we usually, once I see teaser trailer and then the official trailer, I kind of drop out at that point and I won't, I don't watch all the clips and stuff because again, I'm trying to, I end up seeing this stuff too much, gives it too much. Keena says, "They just announced Shrek 5 and were released on July the 1st, 2026, which is two weeks after Toy Story 5 releases and two months after Avengers 5, any thoughts?" Well basically now, you're at a point now where every summer Disney and Universal are putting out animated movies. This has been the case for years. Universal seems to generally go for Independence Day while Disney tends to go for Father's Day. And obviously, they've both had huge successes on this. These movies will both have their time to shine, they'll have the whole summer to pull in money. This has been the case for years and I don't think it's a major problem. There is more than enough kids to go around the world to see both movies or one or either all. Shrek 5 could be interesting because the first ones are good but I don't know if I can even remember what the last one was. Is that the one where they kind of like reset time and had kids? Is that the last one or is that the one before it? Yeah. I don't remember the last one, which is not good. As far as Avengers go, Avengers won't be despicable me, different audience and Shrek and stuff, very different audience. Jonathan says, "Do you think we'll get any news for Tell Me Lies Season 23?" I would expect with D23, don't expect a lot of the Hulu side. There's got some presentations, there's got like a Grey's Anatomy and a station, sorry, Abba Elementary, there's going to be one about the animation like Futurama and King of the Hill, etc. I wouldn't expect anything from this. They are slowly bringing stuff into the D23 event for that but the audience there isn't necessarily that for that kind of show really something that would fit that, if that makes sense. Because if the D23 panels are low stream, wouldn't it be on Disney Plus? Now previously they've all been done on YouTube and they did actually last time they put up little clips on Disney Plus afterwards. Earlier this year, I had events, they did actually say that that was the plan, we've not heard anything official since then, things could change. I wouldn't expect to know probably to the last minute. Elia says, "With the release D23 schedule, the featured Disney Plus events are all, could change it, currently, are about meeting Bluey and Bingo. Do you think that's supposed to decide for a park appearance?" Probably not. I suspect this is more about the fact that Disney can do these events but they've probably not got the theme park rights to do it and therefore D23 doesn't fall under that right so that's probably how they can get it but I would imagine they are going to do it but they also think they know that this is a juggernaut and it's going to be popular. Regardless, does it indicate some sort of new deal with Disney involvement and investment with expanded in Bluey? I think they just know it's a good deal all the way around for everybody. Elia says, "Are you looking forward to watching anything on Disney Plus?" So for me at the minute, Agatha, that looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. Looking forward to the new season of Only Murders in the Building, trying to think what else is coming up in the next couple of months, I'm going a bit blank now. Oh, the old man, I'm looking forward to watching the old man that will be coming out in September. Yeah, so those are the kind of the main ones I'm looking forward to watching. The big problem sometimes is somebody shows a row a little bit late so this week we did start under the bridge and we were the lucky ones so those little two shows were currently sort of rolling through on rotation. I tend to sometimes have two or three shows on at once and then the other week is like, "Let's finish off these shows, we'll get them done before we start binging another show." We did sugar on Apple, we did dark matters on Apple, and also the gentleman from Moscow on Paramount Plus, he shows that. We tend to have a few different ones but at the minute, we're kind of working away through that one. Man, that says, "We have frozen free Toy Story 5 Super Mario 2 and Shrek 5, do you think 2026 will be the biggest year for animation, surprising 2019 and what movies could cross the building?" I mean, all four of those movies are billion-dollar franchises. I think they could all have a chance of it. Inflation as well. The cinema tickets ain't going to be any cheaper in 2026 so that will help get it in there. I'd be surprised if they didn't. A Shrek is still, it's been long enough but if it's not very good, I don't, well that will have a problem. Mario will do all right, and frozen free should be a juggernaut. Kinney says, "Will the new Disney stand-ups special be live?" Just like Netflix has in the past? No. These are not going to be live. They've already recorded them. They are pre-recorded. Let's jump into the live chat, let's see what we've got. Highnucks wave. Kayla says, "I do remember at the last day in 23, the primary live stream on YouTube but not everything and Disney Plus was recap events." Yeah, I believe they did live stream the Legends panel and they live streamed the Parks panel so that's two of the three ones. If they did do the showcase on the movie ones, they might not put all the trailers out, they might just blank over and put like a trailer in, they could do that. Generally they do live stream some of the panels and stuff during the day, they'll pick the ones that will be most interested. If the event's already sold out, now it's just a case of making content and keeping things going and stuff. Are you ready for San Diego Comic Con and D23? Yeah, so both of those plans, my plan is now for both of those for the Marvel and for the D23, I think they're going to be taking place about two, three o'clock in the morning my time. So I am planning on having a late night that night and to be working. Unfortunately, it's the time zones. I don't think I can actually go to sleep early, but I am going to be staying late covering it because they're going to be some, they're hopefully will be news. I'm hoping that the D23 is live streamed because that will be more interesting to be able to watch and follow along, but yeah, so my plan is to stay out. The difference is obviously I can then, and even if they're not live streamed, there'll be announcements and stuff, so I'm going to be covering it anyway because I'm not going. I was planning on going to D23, but I just don't think, I just don't think it's, and I'm actually really glad I'm not any, I looked at that schedule the other week or the yesterday when they put it out there, and I was a little bit like, damn, there's a lot, a lot less content for me to cover. It's like Saturday and there's some, there'll obviously be some interesting stuff on the Saturday as well, but it was a little bit like, hmm, there's not as much stuff here as I want. I'm not going to stay out for the parks panel, I'm going to bed to watch it in the morning, but Marvel's going to be interesting. The Marvel one is going to be interesting because I'm sure they'll be in there. I think with, Marvel's only got an hour presentation, so that's just kind of interesting, and I think, if you think of it, if you've got an hour, and if you've got Deadpool and Wolverine because it'll be coming out like that weekend, so I'll probably have them show up to do something, Agatha, Captain America, and then I'm going to do the animation because that's taking place in another presentation at D23, so I don't know if they'll, they might cover it a little bit. Probably the Thunderbolts, fantastic four will be starting filming the day after, so maybe the cast come out and they announce that officially kind of thing. You've got Wonder Man, and you've got Ironheart, and you've got Daredevil, so you've got eight shows there. Now, if you give, if they give, they, in order for them to get, if they are, they can't even get 10 minutes apiece, they're only going to be able to get like six to seven minutes, so if you show a clip for a two minute clip or a trailer for anything from that, that hour is going to get sucked up really, really, and it could run late, and they could end up extending into the next hour, et cetera, but that's going to have a knock on effect. I would imagine they probably would, would, would want that, but I think just logistically of, I mean, I think Wonder Man would more likely going to get announced there, and, and that will get some buzz because officially it hasn't really been announced. But like I said, all of the stuff maybe they do in an expent about Blade of what they're doing about. So, you know, if they do a showcase of like, here's all our, you know, here's the plan for phase six, because I don't think they should go beyond that, here's the Avengers, here's what we're doing. Here's the next like two, three years worth of movies, and obviously there's going to be less shows that will kick in. That's what I'm kind of expecting. I'm not, I'm not expecting like far, you know, a few new movies. Yeah, I mean, I think Fantastic Four is going to get bumped to the November for the blade date, and then Blade is going to dump back a bit, but, don't know. Alias is hopefully an indication that theme park rights will happen with Blue Eats, that's something that's happening behind the scenes, especially with Doctor Who not performing. Yeah, I mean, they did do, they did put, I think they put the tireless in downtown Disney in LA, but I don't think Doctor Who, they'll carry on with it. What about DC now? Well, who? Who? Who? Again, DC have got to watch it. They've got a, they've actually got a land Superman first. They've got a, I mean, they can obviously do a big presentation and they can show stuff off, they've got some of the animated shows, they've got some of the other things coming in as well, but DC has to drop, has to hit. No point telling us all that you've got 15 movies and 10 things coming. If you haven't officially kind of got out the gate with this new time yet, they're going to have to play it, play it cool, but who knows? But we're trying to says, do you think Disney plus could have in carting network content is a good thing for Max and Warner Brothers? Yeah, Max is fine with it, they get money. Disney get content, Warner Brothers gets money, win. Can you say this is funny because I asked, because five seems like a glorious number, a beautiful number, you've got five fingers on each hand. No, you, well, no, you don't. You have four fingers and a thumb and you only have, unless you could do and you've got five toes on each foot, but yeah, you do have, yeah, you do have five toes, but yeah, we're finger, you don't, so there we go. Let's see what else we've got, I know we did that one, I'm just going to go back and make sure I've not missed anything from anybody. Katie says, speaking of Disney, I do remember Hulu went down on Monday night and I know it happened when I was watching Raw on Hulu Live, luckily the NBC Everywhere app helped, so I could watch the main, that's a pain. But ironically, Disney Plus was fine, so it was, so yeah, I think they are definitely working on different ones, but what we're trying to say is why do the new Simpsons episodes have a different title than the old episodes? Do you mean on Disney Plus? I think that's because the Hulu on Disney Plus is kind of, it's just awkwardness with how they do it. I don't know why they do it that way. All right, let's carry on, let's see where we go in. Okay, so we've got two questions here from Caleb and Babak, what are your thoughts on the Captain America trailer? I'll go into it a little bit more on tomorrow is Disney Plus News and not so just ask that same question. It looks good, I'm looking forward to it, I thought it did a good job, I liked the whole aspect of them playing in on the idea of still of are we willing to accept Sam as the new Captain America. Obviously something's going on with President Harrison Ford just can't wait to see that. The little teaser at the end with the Red Hulk definitely can't wait for this movie, it's going to be different. I don't know where we're going to go with it, I don't know how it's going to work. Because the big thing as well with Falcon and Red Hulk fighting is like obviously Sam doesn't have any superpowers, he's going to have to outwit him and outfly him. But I really like this whole, I like the winter soldier kind of mentality of it being a thriller and stuff. So I'm looking forward to it. It kind of feels weird with them again, like interlocking Hulk content into it, but I think this is going to lead straight into Thunderbolts, I think that's what's going to happen. As far as Agatha, again it looks good, looks a little bit CW. It's that kind of weird thing. If you took the Marvel logo off this and put it on Netflix, I probably wouldn't watch it. But I'm kind of going into this and kind of thinking it could be fun, it could be nice. Especially sometimes for me as well, my wife tends to watch these kind of things like Sabrina and those kind of vampire hunter kind of things of vampire diaries. I don't tend to watch them so much, so it might be a bit more refreshing for me to have a different take. And I want Marvel doing different stories, I don't want everything feeling the same. And this is about witches and about witchcraft and whether or not we needed an Agatha series, I don't know, but I don't know, I thought it looked, I thought it was good. Nina says Hulu is having a sale for $2.99 a month for six months, which this deal expires on December the 4th, it's like Christmas in July, Black Friday sale. I've not heard of that one, I do know that Starz was doing a deal for that now, but again with Hulu, they want you locked in on that ad tier, they, in some ways they do it cheap enough that you will keep it and you will keep running with it and you will watch the ads and they will make that money back. And I think this is going to be something we see a lot when they eventually merge together anyway, where you are going to see Disney doing offers and deals to get you locked in. Because that money per month is good, but if they can get you and keep you, it just makes sense because they are still making money off their ads. And he says, do you think there'll be another season of Genius will come to Disney Plus in the US? I mean, we actually, I still haven't had the last season released here in the UK yet, the Malcolm X one. I don't think we are going to see anymore. I do know that National Geographic are not focusing on like scripted content anymore. They're focusing more on their, I think it's a shame really because Hot Zone was really good. Hot Zone and Frax was really good. The small light was excellent, I haven't watched Bark Skin, but the right stuff was fantastic. So I actually think National Geographic do really good series, but generally they're made by like 20th television or ABC anyway, so it's not really, I mean, I think they could be involved. I don't think Genius may be performed as well as they wanted to, didn't really hear anything about it, but I don't think we're going to see anything more from them. Basil says, "With so many sequels, do you think they're canceling each other out?" I don't think so again, Toy Story and Shrek can kind of live side by side for the host summer, taking money from kids. They're going to do well. Same thing that's happening right now with Inside Out 2 and Despicable Me 5. They're just kind of following in on each other, and Matt says, "With so many sequels set in Twitter." Oh, there's a grip, what wrong? Okay, come on. Where's Matt's question? Why is that not working? Let's try that again. There we go. My adaptor thing is not working, I'm just going to plug it in. Matt says, "What do you think there will be a fifth Disney park?" I don't think we're going to see a fifth Disney park in XD23. My theory is we're going to get all of the stuff confirmed for like the area behind Big Thunder Mountain, I think you're going to see like in Kanto and maybe the Villains area. That'll be what they do there. There might be some other announcements made for that park. I think you're going to see a new land at Animal Kingdom. I think you're going to see some expansion, maybe a Hollywood Studios, some a new pavilion and some stuff going in to EPCOT. I think they need to power up the places they've got. I know the fingers of a fifth theme park is I think they've got to fix the fall they've got to get them. I personally feel like you almost need a new attraction every year going into those parks. We need things updated, we need things moving in there, new zones. Having a brand new theme park is an amazing idea, but I think right now they need to kind of get the four parks they've got. They need to deliver what they've announced in the past and get them in and get some new zones in, maybe new Star Wars ride, they've got to expand what they've got. I think a fifth theme park right now because the trouble is as well. You've only got so many days free when you go to, when you go down to Orlando, now usually for us as Brits, most of us pretend to go for two weeks, though some go for free, some go for one. I've done that in the past, but generally, so we will go for two weeks, so there's only so many days you can do. So now you've got, Disney have got four plus, I generally will always say five because you kind of need a two days for Magic Kingdom, then you've got your water park. So there's a seven day, that's why they generally offer us like a seven day for the price of four. You get 14 days for the price of seven, but also universal now you're going to have three parks plus for Canada days. So suddenly now, if you go, if you do one day at each, you are now hitting what, 10 days? And then if you go out to the water park, if you go out to NASA, or if you go to SeaWorld or if you go to the beach or you just want a day not go into the park, you're only going to have so many days. So a fifth theme park is only just going to spread everybody out. It's not really going to bringing any more money. That's my thing on that one. That's all the pre-done questions from jumping into the live chat. If you've got any live questions, feel free to set them in once we're done with this one. I ended off. Kelsey, there's a high chance of Disney having more cruise line excursions than that additional park. I know I could also see some temporary exhibits that rotate in each major city. I think it depends on how the D23 experience thing, that last one, how well that did. I do think they probably will do a little bit more of that. So last week, they did announce that they're going to be having a new cruise line with the in Japan. Today, they're going to have a brand new ship out in Japan, and that's going to be operated I think in line with the Oriental Land Company, which won Disney Man in Tokyo. I think that's going to be amazing because Tokyo really like keeping very simple to Disney, so I think that's going to be really good. You've got the new massive, great big ship going into Singapore next year. You've also got treasure launching next year, and you've also got, there's another one, I think there's another one also, in set to come and adventure, or is it, it's eventually the Singapore one. I can't remember, but they've got like three or four new boats or ships coming. So it's that kind of thing of they've got so many different ships. I think like, if they've got one doing South East Asia and another one doing Japan, because that's a big area, a lot of people are cruising there. Also with bringing more ships into the Caribbean, some of the newer ships like treasure, etc. That will open up for moving some of the older ships like the Wish and Fantasy to do maybe some of South Pacific, maybe go down into Latin America a little bit. Also maybe, because for the last few years they've been sending every ship here to Europe. They usually do, I think next year is fantasy, is it, I think it's, I don't know if it's the fantasy, I don't know which one is it here this year? I think it's fantasy here, the dream was here last year because we did a Mediterranean one. So they tend to send a different ship like over here. I think it's going to be interesting because I've been on the fantasy, I've been on magic, the wonder and on dream. So still haven't been on the fantasy and I haven't been on Wish yet. I think they are going to expand that out a little bit. I think there's definitely a lot of money in the fact of people want that experience, but also cruising is becoming more popular. I'm definitely now in the cruise category. We've said that next in a few years time when we next go back to Orlando, we're actually only going to do a few days at the parks and we're going to go do a cruise. So I want to do like, I want to see Epic Universe and we'll have a couple of days of Disney and that'll be it. We're not going to be doing the same amount that we usually don't, I would rather go on a cruise. It's just, I love Disney cruises and they are so, I've really kind of, and I love the fact that as well I get to have that Disney bubble, you've got to get in it and you have all that, you have the characters and you have the shop and you have the music and you have that feeling of being on a Disney, you get that Disney feeling, but also the best thing as well as you get out and you can get to explore the world, you get to explore a new city or a new area, you get to leave the bubble and you get to explore the world. I'm totally in on it, I mean, we're doing, we're trying out some different cruise lines as well, but I love them, actually I love them and you've got me going on Disney cruises. Does that be a grove, better than I am off. Chris says, "How do we access our fave movies once physical media is dead? How we'll be able to watch the movies we love in the future?" You're going to be paying for them on whatever device through a digital platform or streaming platforms. The thing is, media has evolved, media has continued to evolve. I'm old enough and bold enough where I have lived through so many formats over my life. When I was a kid we had records and then we had tapes and then we had CDs and then we had mini, I can't even think of what they were, we had little mini discs and then we had laser discs and then we had DVD and then we had HD DVD and then we had Blu-ray and then we had MP3 and then we went to streaming and then we've gone into 4K HD DVD and it's like, there was a beta max at one point, I've owned so many, so many different formats over the years and I have gone through all of my machines and you do get to a certain point of, and this is the other thing, for me personally I don't tend to go back and re-watch old movies that often, or old TV series, if you say to me now I've got two hours free, I'm watching a new movie, just after then we just started watching the new Beverly Hills cop. I'd rather watch a new movie than watch something I've seen before, if I've got a choice between a new TV series or an old TV series that I've seen before, I'll watch a new one. I like watching new stuff, I do like watching old stuff but for me new will always outdo old and I think for me that would just be how I can do it, and I think this whole thing of physical media, physical media is going to go away, you're seeing it, I mean there's been reports of like game over here, a game store, you can't even, they're going to be basically like stopping selling games, you have to pre-order, who's going to pre-order, the industry, the audience has shifted and the thing is there's two people that still cling on to the old method and the old system and stuff, and yeah, but it's the same, it's no different than the simple truth is there's a lot of TV shows and movies that were never released on physical media which were really bad, TV shows that got cancelled would never put out on DVD because they weren't going to be HS because they weren't going to sell, those are lost as well, this has been going on for decades, the good stuff, if they think they can make money they'll still keep it out there, it is going to suck and I think we've just, and then I would say we've got to get used to it but formats change, I've brought movies on so, like Star Wars, I've owned on like five formats, I refuse to buy it again, I'm just like, I'm not buying Star Wars again, I just, why I didn't really, I didn't really get in on 4K DVDs because I'm just like, no, I have brought these movies on VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray, I'm not buying it on 4K HD DVD, that's, you know, yeah, I think, unfortunately there's a lot of people that like physical media and I think it might continue as a niche product and if this, but the problem is going to be is how niche is that going to get, is as you, as is less and less people buying it, how many people are going to have the devices to play it because right now, yeah, a lot of people can access it for like play stations and Xboxes and stuff but I do wonder when we move into this, I think the next generation of consoles are not going to have discs, I think that's going to happen and suddenly you're going to have these boxes on your TV that don't have it, the new Xbox cloud can run on fire TVs and free your Samsungs and stuff, you don't need it, big, big, big change, big, big change, it says I say that if Nintendo switched chips are effective, physical media will be within chips, yeah, I mean, I actually got rid of all my Nintendo switch stuff the other week, I tried it, I tried it all and got some cash because it was just like, I'm not using it, Nintendo plays by a different rule. Okay, so I'd love to visit allahime Disneyland Paris and Tokyo, I feel like I would enjoy Disney Cruise, because I can go to my state room to relax at any time, it's harder and wiser at the park, due to the heat. Now, I am lucky, I, you know, I did a lot of traveling, I love to travel. Disneyland Paris is great for, but it's kind of one of those things for me of like, it's nice to go, but it never compares to the American to like the Florida, and if you've never been to Disney, you can go to, you can go to Paris and it's lovely and it's an amazing park and it's some amazing attractions there, but you go there and you're like, oh, this is better in, in Southern Florida. Disneyland in California in allahime is, it's really great, it's so, it feels very different to like one of a, not to, to work Disney World. Tokyo, lovely Shanghai, Hong Kong, but I've, in like you say, with the Disney Cruise, you can go back to your room and just chill out. You just relax more and I think as I've got older, I don't have, I can't do 15, 16 hour days at the, at the theme park anymore. Thank you so much Derek for your super chat, that is fantastic, thank you so much for that, that is amazing. Who do you think Parramat should merge, Parramat Plus with Peacock or Max? In my opinion, they should merge it with, with MI? I think it's been over a year since I started super chatting with you, I mean, you are fantastic for your support Derek, fantastic so much, it is really appreciative. I, I mean, they still, as Kayla says, they obviously have to get approval, so it could still be, it's going to be the end of the next year before it's officially doing, I do believe I was reading and like, it, they can't like go into any commitments now with any major streaming service without skydances approval, basically probably learning a little bit for no point then taking over them right now and then the people at Parramat sign in a contract with Max when they're like, oh, we've, we've, we've got plans or we're closing it down or we're doing something else. So that's good. Um, so I think the problem with the merger with anything right now is they might not be able to do it. Um, personally, I think probably, I think like what's wrong with Peacock is Comcast seem to be very, they're still trying to cling on to cable because it makes them so much money and to sky TV and stuff. And I feel like they are just clinging on to the past and they don't really seem to want to actually commit to going fully in on streaming. So I don't think they're ready for it yet. Maybe by the time this calls for it might do. And I think Max, I just think like, um, I just don't think, I don't, I think they're going to get swallowed up or sold off. I think they are just not, I just don't think Zazlaf cares the same way. I think he is literally, he just wants the money. He just wants the money. But again, thank you so much for that support. That is amazing. Thank you. Um, Keena says, I'm mis collecting physical media and I haven't brought since the pandemic, but can't go wrong with streaming. Um, I think obviously there are awesome problems with streaming. You know, if you want to go watch Willow, you've got a problem. Um, so that is a difficulty. I, I do think as well as convenience, you know, the whole thing of, I mean, I used to have shelves and shelves and shelves, um, bookcases and bookcases of discs and stuff. And just, it was just collecting dust. The question is for, and it's the same thing with comic books and anything like this, music, like, do you have a, do you have a vinyl collection? Do you have CDs? Did we got rid of all your CDs? You know, like for me, I have YouTube music. I have no, no need for actual physical media for music. I have zero need, but music went in a different direction. They've managed to put everything into one platform or multiple platforms and they shared it. I think some of the studios kind of want to do that because it takes the pressure off them. I don't think it's ever going to happen now because it's too late. So soon it says, do you think Hulu won't exist anymore after next year? Although when the merger happens, I think, I think we're probably a good year away. It might be even not, it might not be until the end of next year until this Comcast deal was sorted. But I truly believe that Hulu will merge in with Disney+, they'll have one platform and the Hulu hub will stay as the Hulu. And I think Hulu live TV will go. I think they will. I think Hulu live TV will get either merged in with their new sports or will just, they might, I mean, they might, legally, they might even end up with some stuff going through courts. They might just be like, this is just not worth it. They've got like, what, three and a half million subscribers? Not a lot. It's not a lot. And it's not growing. That whole industry is just getting smaller. Elia says Disneyland has my heart. That's Walt's Park. Love many aspects of what Disney World, especially EPCOT. I love EPCOT. Yeah, for me, the Magic Kingdom pair was in comparison next. I think that's the thing as well as it sometimes as well. It depends where you go to, what you did. Like for me, I was, we went to Walt Disney World when we were kids. And then when we were teenagers, I didn't go to, I'd already been to like Disney World like two, three times before I went to Paris. So now I've been to all of them. I have a bit more of that disconnect with the fact that Disney can be different in different places. You have that same feel, but there are differences. Like when I went to Disneyland last, I didn't know where everything was. And that's great because my brain had just like, it's totally foggy with all the different theme parks. I don't know. I can't remember what's up there. I think a lot, especially with a lot of people that go to the same theme park, maybe weekly or monthly or a lot per year. It kind of becomes, I can see how, you know, I keep hearing of like people saying about like the magic's gone, or it doesn't feel the same. And I'm like, how often are you going? If you are going to Disney every weekend or every month or four times a year for the last five, 10 years, yeah, it's gonna, it's gonna feel different to you. It's gonna feel different for you than the family that's gone once. Or maybe the family that's not been there for five years or 10 years. This is a, and I think like the internet has kind of spurred on and we saw a lot of it like in before the pandemic of all these influences and people going to the parks all the time. And I do kind of feel like that is an aspect of it's like anything. If you go to that same place over and over and over again, it is going to lose that fuzzy feeling that butterflies. When I walk into Main Street and I see that castle, I get a different, I will get a different feeling than someone that was there last week. It's gonna naturally happen. And I think people maybe, oh, that's my, you know, I love going there. If like the concept of going to Disneyland, California, I've lucky been there three times. There were 20 years apart, not, they're not 20 years, I'm all right. But I went once, I went once in 20, I went twice in one year and then I went like, you know, 20 years apart. Like when I next go to like Orlando, it's gonna be like five, six years ago. So therefore, you know, the new parks will be different. It'll feel, it'll feel funny. It'll be, I'll have that feeling. You go too much, you lose it. Thank you so much, Baba, you've been a member for three years. Thank you. Thank you so much for your support. It really means a lot. I mean, it's, unfortunately, there's been a massive change with how Google like does stuff and it's really making a big difference like YouTube and YouTube channel members and patrons and stuff. It does make a massive difference because Google has just sent, if not just me, so many websites and stuff where we're all getting a lot less clicks and a lot less views and they just enter there for this, this really makes a big difference. So see this is, are we almost done? Once I've finished with the questions, we need to get in there. Sorry, I'm rambling. Knoxville says we don't have any physical media stores in the Middle East countries anymore since a lot of people aren't buying it and they prefer to watch it on streaming apps. I think this is just happening everywhere. Careless says there's a reason why I call Comcast Lagards when it comes to streaming since Disney is ahead of the curve. I think their linear business is just so big, they can't afford to change. The only thing I buy physical media from is some Amazon and eBay. And so I've been to Universal Parks in both California and Florida and it's a very different field. California is smaller and the climate is drier. Florida is larger and more humid. I didn't go to the Universal last time. I do remember it being much smaller and like having two levels. But the thing I loved about the one in California is that's where they make films. For me, still seeing the back to the future clock tower and that's where they filmed it. That's amazing for me. Yeah, it's just amazing. Right, so on that note, thank you so much for everyone's question. We'll end the air. I'm sure a lot of British people are already heading off for the soccer or the football. Apparently, I keep getting told it's coming home. I believe it when I see it. But on that note, guys, thank you so much. Again, thank you for all of your support. I'll be back tomorrow of another news video. We're talking about Bayblade, Captain America, and whatever else has been going on. And on that note, guys, thank you very much. Have a good evening. See you guys soon. Alias.
