[MUSIC PLAYING] Fox Sports Update. The Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Chicago White Sox completed a three team trade that will send seven players to new homes on the eve of the deadline. Los Angeles is acquiring utility man, Tommy Edmund, from St. Louis, and reliever Michael Copac from Chicago in the trade. St. Louis will get starting pitcher Eric Fettie and outfielder Tommy Pham from Chicago. Meanwhile, Chicago will get three former Los Angeles prospects in the deal, including Miguel Vargas. In other trade news, the Seattle Mariners acquired first baseman and designated hitter Justin Turner in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays. The Boston Red Sox received 23-year-old starting pitcher Quinn Priestor from the Pittsburgh Pirates for Prospect Nick York. The Kansas City Royals also received some pitching help, acquiring starter Michael Lorenzo from the Texas Rangers as they look to make a playoff push. Japan won the gold medal, surging past China in the final event to win. Elsewhere in Paris, the United States women's basketball team won its opening game of the tournament, defeating Japan 102 to 76 in group C action, Asia Wilson, and Brianna Stewart combined for 46 points in the win as the team seeks to win its eighth straight gold medal. In the pool, American Ryan Murphy meddled in the 100-meter backstroke, finishing third to win the bronze medal. It marks the third time Murphy has meddled in the event and the seventh Olympic medal. He's won. American Lily King didn't meddle in the 100-meter breaststroke event, missing the podium by 100th of a second. King meddled in the event in the previous two summer games and has said the 2024 Olympics would be her last. Finally, American Luke Hopson won the bronze medal in the men's 200-meter freestyle, giving the 21-year-old his first Olympic medal. Houston Texans defensive end, Daniko Autry, will miss the first six games of the 2024 season due to a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy against performance-enhancing substances to league announced Monday. The 34-year-old Autry said the violation was the result of his doctor submitting a prescription for a different medication that contained a banned substance. Autry signed a two-year $20 million deal to join the upstart Texans this offseason after recording a career-high 11 and 1/2 sacks with the Tennessee Titans in 2023. I'm Joe Morgan.
