Scartish tubes and fittings are the go to guys for pipe work fabrication and supplies whether it's copper steel galvanized you need stainless steel or UPVC the new cab design boilers pumps valves and gauges 27 years they've been in this game exceptional through the ages did you know Scottish tubes and fittings are open seven days a week called Glasgow six four seven five thousand the go radio football show with Scottish tubes and fittings pipes fittings and valves for every application including water oil steam and gas good evening good afternoon poking here coming from the heart of Glasgow the gerbils I'm here with McGinn Stephen McGinn the invincible afternoon Stephen or evening whatever it is yep you've got the blue of Scotland on the current strip which your brother will be wearing with pride tonight mark Guidi Scotland's number one pundit is with us mark here we go again yep brilliant for a situation when I'm just going one tonight go and win the game sound simple it's not but go and do it and the boys have made this the lots of praise for the Scotland fans and they have been brilliant so we want to hear from you this evening ahead of the game we're on from now until seven build up to the game we'll give you the team use as well I want to hear what Mark thinks and Stephen told us what you think and Friday night not much change at all and we'll bring the team first O8 O8 17 17 700 mark you like in that one that song I mean we all went we went a bit Argentina didn't we ten days ago before the game with Germany would that be fair yeah we went a bit nuts we did and also we were all brought back down the earth with a major and bump I just think that not none of us imagined the demand of defeat poll either performance be losing by five goes when we don't forget we had to attend men after that shocking tackle from from nine portals and however we've recovered we've made a proper step in the right direction and we're giving ourselves a chance tonight and that's Paul's not going to be easy you know I'm hungry I'm not out of it either you know that the sections wide open for places them two and three so and we'll need to be at a very base really we'll need to be better on what we were again Switzerland to go in one day game today well look at the section group a Germany maximum point six point Switzerland four point Scotland on one after the drop of Switzerland hungry no points they're minus four we're minus four goals wise Switzerland plus two Germany plus six there's so many variables tonight but I guess from Scotland's point of view we've just got to go out and get three points yeah that's a thing for Hungary there's permutations that we could qualify with two points so they've got to believe that if they win the game of three points then they can qualify so get a chance but I think a lot the listeners will be like me they don't really know what to feel between excitement nervous and I must win and just fall in short but it's going to be a really tough game as I said and Friday I think with injuries we've got and have Hungary's slight favorites and but it's something we can achieve if we play our best and we can certainly win the game that's why he was on this afternoon some brilliant music some great stuff supporting Scotland as well she's got the Scotland top-on Cheers Oi enjoy the match tonight she'll be listening in the car heading home and she'll be back tomorrow morning and the breakfast show I had you on and Friday morning with the team a Thursday morning after the result against Switzerland and that was so massive wasn't it after we were kind of we were the talk of the steamy in a way because of the five goals we lost to Germany right throughout the tournament yeah we needed something Paul we needed to take it to the last game we never made it through the second stages but most of the time of taking into the last game and giving ourselves something to play for so there would have been a lot of creations of it Steve Clark had we lost to Switzerland and been out after game two and so therefore you know it was important just to get enough to get us into this this situation that by the way I don't mind or something when I was on where we we played on the morning we just had to be push you know to take to go and get the winning goal but I was there I wasn't to bother but Steve Clark he seemed to be like just calm last couple of minutes just don't lose the game and so the fact that we're going to write no meant we need to do there's no middle ground so had we beaten Switzer well do we play for a point tonight they were sent back not we know we've got to go and do it going win a game and by the way see if you want to do well as a team you've got to go and win games of football so don't worry about the fact you need to go and win a game of football it's your job it's up to me go out and do it we're just saying you've got Sky on there as well you see your brother join alongside the Scotland squad ahead of the game they're back there the match tonight you can family there as well haven't you there's yeah I did see that he'll end up getting out the fire exit for their walk so this the stain right in the center of Stuttgart so I'm not sure fans realized that first that that's the hotel they're staying and I don't know if people find out but the team boss in the front door it's about the giveaway so a lot Scotland fans concrete join a tent as a few videos in of the fans and find voice when they were trying to get their afternoon nap they get the fire exit for their walk so I'll be straight to the like let's do a wee bit from the manager how they feeling ahead of tonight's game we thought it might come down to need to get something out the last game in the group so that's the stage you're at we've been in this position before at the last tournament so hopefully we can show that we've learned a few lessons and Mark that should help us won't do is any harm that we've we've come close before but not quite no that's the the experience and the disappointment of not one in the last time at hand and it was a creation on the last game and it was a disappointing performance as well so yeah because the most of those guys at the view hub of the team will be playing again and tonight so yeah they will be the better for that experience the manager will be the better and for it and Paul just couldn't do it when to see his team we're always waiting for the team you know the first 11 would you think you know Stephen made the point of the night and we'll speak to before this what something Steve Clark really makes any changes but I just wonder with it with the last game and well he just looked for Francis I'm thinking maybe she Adams what she Adams body light out because he's putting a bit of a right shift and I don't know so did you think that maybe the freaster stuff shank under some they'll be a bit different that's not a slight on she had I'm just thinking more of a freshness and it was me a bit of tiredness there that that might look at me say well do you want to maybe just paint one or two to change something engine room right in the heart of the team again McGregor's putting and chef's with Tom Lee's put on chef John McGinn's put on chair I would expect to see them to start Paul to be honest but just somewhere they might just have a wee tweak that takes us by surprise David what are you reckon and you give us your team on Friday night and just one change yeah I think Scott McKenna coming from Kianti on there there's bits and bobs I mean a personal that I said to you before I would always consider a back four but that's because it's a preference of mine but just going in Steve Clark that I said Mark as Mark said even back to the command like this even a couple of defeats a bad defeat very rarely changed very loyal manager and players that know they're gonna play oh the manager a lot because he's very loyal to them and they always feel like they need to deliver a performance for him so hopefully the guys he goes with tonight can repay that faith what do you think Scotland fans give us a call oh eight oh eight seventeen seventeen seven hundred is this the day of destiny we're dialing that down a wee bit mark I sense we should go in slightly understated and let's see what happens yeah we could do it tonight but we know I mean what Scotland can do they did well against Switzerland but he knows Steve Clark that Hungary pause a big threat I think we look at the record over the last few years that they've been building towards us good team well organised good coach good discipline without the ball and a good threat with the ball obviously some talented players I'm not going to name them all hopefully we can stay for them and keep them keep them in place but we expect a difficult game and I'm sure Hungarians are also expecting a difficult game from was I think two similar teams to similar line-ups to similar systems and hopefully our system is slightly better than their system yes Stephen we talked about it on Friday night we know suppose like everyone knows what's a player is isn't they and we hope that we can keep well in fact I'm not seeing an injury doubt but they were waiting to see if he would play tonight yeah I think you're playing and it's Hungary's most important player it's just it's a type of rumor I've been there as a player you get into a big game and you hear that the best player from the other teams struggling you almost laugh at it you think well he's going to play so bizarre play within it I mean as we said Steve Clark's mentioned that we are probably similar in terms of I've got a lot of joy counter attack team we don't give much away so that's the one thing I'll be looking at from the game tonight who is the team that shows the hand first who is the team that throws the first punch do we do we go for it from the start or do we let Hungary punch out so I'm really excited to see how both teams go about it could be a busy night for your brother John McGinn I would take Big Gunny being the hero tomorrow and I think it's a team effort obviously recently Big Scott he's been the man for gold so he looks confident and firing and training but all the boys are excited and hopefully one of us there'll be a hero tomorrow night so don't really care if it's an ongoing or a deflection or anything we'll tell you what it comes you take it off the shin mark he'd be delighted to get a go I thought he did well the other night maybe unsung a lot of the work he did but keeping Granite Shaker in control I mean he wasn't as the other one. Yeah what we've not seen from John and the two games is what we see we'll normally see him with Scotland and the Aston Vala is really penetrating the opposition box and really you know a handful and around that 25 yards and not just the goals he scores about the assist that he gets from the national team and for this club so he's he's had to be more disciplined it's got to naturally the quality of the opposition you've got more than the back foot you're ready to be looking at his business is going a bit unnoticed you know but Tommy's getting it getting around the goals with the deflection etc etc Cal and McGregor with assist but John as we know and you would never question it he can ask Paul he puts a shift in and you know it might not be shining in terms of like an a positive one in on the eye but he'll make sure however he's up against knows there in a game and knows if they'll have to do something special to get a better of him over the 90 minutes. Big brother? Yeah I think that's right I think it comes with the territory I think it's the same for Andy Robertson as well they're held to a different scrutiny and if I mean we haven't yet in this tournament seen John totally dominate with the ball we've not seen him getting the the box and get many shots away but he's in really important cog in the team and him and she had him said a job the other night as a partnership they were to walk the line as a front two and they were to stop Granite Jaka dictating the game yeah so when you ask after the game how did you think I did I thought you were good thought she had him she's good obviously he knows as a team though they weren't at that absolute best in terms of dominating the game but they're up against the top team and where the criticism came in the gym the game is probably we're too passive we're late Tony Cruz got in the ball we'll let okay Gundigan get on the ball we certainly didn't do that with Switzerland and it's the key battle tonight for us if we can win that midfield battle as Steve Clark said it's two really similar systems probably two similar teams at the same level if we can dominate if we can get more control in that area then I think we can win. I mean Steven posed a creation a couple minutes ago you know how's it going to play out from the first whistle we'll Scotland go in the front footer with it when they let Hungary try and throw the throw punch I want to see us in the front football from the first whistle that's what we did there on the against Switzerland don't allow Hungary to get the first punch or to say oh don't be on the ropes try and get them on the ropes get there because we need to score a goal tonight we must score to have any chance of of going through so go and get the goal not the win that right are hungry so because I think if we score first ball it's game over for them their only belief will be if they can score first protecting the first 20 minutes I think they want to get off the house and fire because they'll be thinking not that I've seen much about it but at the back of the minute you know a 4-0 we might go through and so they need to commit to give us I want I want Scotland to be in the front foot and let those hungry by the way you ain't coming on you know there's no way you're winning 4-0 tonight tonight so I was going to get a goal and take it for there because markets unlikely that they would go through but it's not impossible for them yeah yeah three points if they were to write a possibility because that this is a last game we're the first group to play game number three so you don't know how it's all going on fall but as we do know history tells us evidence is in the last two tournaments and three points in minus one has got you through you know so maybe we'll be waiting on that have you got the calculator for the next few days because we won't know for sure I mean I went tonight we're virtually guaranteed it but there's a possibility with a draw and we can't go in thinking about a draw Steven that's not on the cards but I saw people today were already putting messages out Steven decided her own celebrity mother will fan was it saying look it could be if it was a draw can that mindset for going one year you got to go you've got to go and one don't be relying on what might happen you know in Tuesday or Wednesday and then and group E and group E if not you need to go and win the game tonight yeah there's a situation maybe the game could be one each with 10 minutes to go tonight and we absolutely threw everything at it and we'll lose and in three days it turns out that the draw might have been enough but that's not football I mean that's a terrible way to think so yeah as Mark said just it's all out for the one you Stevie Clark yeah I think the mental side of the game is is is massive we felt that in the first game and we felt that probably more than mental side of the game that let us down in the first game and the fact that we we didn't get around to doing what we are good at the second game we did what we're good at we got a positive result and hopefully we go to the game the match tomorrow and and we do what we're good at and if we do what we're good at we've got a chance certainly different I don't think you can compare club and international games of this magnitude I think it's nice that we've got a lot of players that have experienced those games obviously me and the latter stages of my career been involved in a lot of high pressure matches but for us I don't think we are feeling that pressure we're feeling can anticipation what can be can we be that team that changing things takes a next step because the best thing in football is proving people wrong and I don't think a lot of Europe think we can make that step and we've got full belief in the direction of them that we can and we are more excited than really keen to get going rather than feeling any sort of pressure. Mark would you feel on that from John McGinn quite pragmatic? Yeah I mean you said it's something that the will come and they're not feeling it I don't think they showed pressure on me for a week and a five minutes obviously after the the mistake but the goal and let's not blame it all in 20 rounds I think that's unfair and I thought David Moyes with a couple of good points in his his analysis and the BBC about it and on that poll just on Tunditchia where we're at I'm really impressed with Johar I mean I think this one was a boundary yeah I really like really Johar definitely cited it was really good on Angus Gunn you're talking about the way you're on this cutting you handle these nighting months so I really enjoyed that but it's very calm and considered yeah it's a really good yeah it was good sport well I'd know he was I think he added a lot to the BBC panel but to get back to the point we made a really bad mistake it was costly but we recovered and I thought it was great as well Andy Roberts and the captain and his post match sent him you five five minutes after the full-time whistle went out of his way to congratulate Tony Rousin and I thought that was a lovely touch you know for the way that he recovered and put the mistake behind them we talked about it Friday night Stephen it was about unfair wasn't it some of the pressure some of the criticism on one player Tony Rousin and he did rally really well look he's played what six games this season so he isn't a regular itself but he's never let's um his team down he'll always step up and you made a great point quite often Mark he comes on late in the game if you know somebody asked to join some whatever goes off and some of the big games with an injury but he goes off on comes Tony Rousin he doesn't hide would that be fair well he he don't mean Celtic supporters I'm sure I remember you know you look now Celtic are the league champions ended up winning it you know comfortably um in the end however remember the game at Eastern Road when you get the last minute penalty in VAR and it was it was a tackle behind Tony Rousin the halfway line that got that move so you know fair play him he takes it of course it's not Scotland's first choice adding hickey would be playing all day long then it's probably nothing but us and so he's getting there and doing a job he's not had the ideal uh preparation terms a game time for the for his club but he doesn't hide Paul you know he doesn't hide and Stephen O'knowe we all know Steve Clark doesn't he suffer field conflict in terms of players in terms you know he would see through it and if he didn't if McRory would be playing or they would take that I would call it a gamble not in case because of James Forest's ability but he's not waiting back for me James Forest so but so if Tony Rousin wasn't he showing anything I thought he wouldn't be anywhere near that starting at 11 that's it that's a point a bit Steve Clark as well how many managers out there would be brave enough to have given Stephen O'Donnell 25 international caps that the scrutiny he came under Stephen O'Donnell came under for playing him Steve Clark did not care Steve Clark looked for a profile and a player he knew him he trusted him and he played him no matter what Stephen O'Donnell didn't always he wasn't always brilliant sometimes he was but he just stuck with him through that period and I've no doubt that Steve Clark was hit by Tony Rousin simmer for the same thing and what Tony Rousin is used to he's used to criticism that that guy he gets criticism every season he Rousin's playing again Rousin's yeah what he does is he gives he's absolute best and the bit I notice is just as a player as someone that sits in the stand which is my brother came on over the years when he came on even that last game it sewed it part the two one game it really got 10 sewed it part in terms of rangers of 10 men hadn't really thrown upon you shit all but they were still in the game asked a Johnson Gizzoff and I think wouldn't he like to be I'm gonna imagine he's the one that makes a mistake could be saying Rousin he won a few brilliant headers at the back post and I just thought you know what not the best player of all time but he he has got real a good team man sure is he has done all the good Scotland fan on the line good evening Donald really good evening to y'all especially to Paul Mark and Stephen thank you very much Donald you're sounding good how are you feeling are you confident I've eaten porridge I've eaten everything Scottish today so we'll go anyway because I'm no hungry oh very good I had the porridge early as well yeah doesn't do me much good but listen no I did but a fruit worth it as well we just need a what a tonic st cake a baguise pie oh I'll be in there yeah Donald thanks for that great point not football wise what are you thinking in terms of the team I know you want to talk about it yeah well my thoughts are we've got an opportunity for greatness tonight and the earth team is very it's the manager picks stability there hungry will do the tactics but I would just go to throw something because we've got 96 90 minutes of glory and I would put this for the for this particular summation okay that means I would have gone in goals I will do a back four Wilson McKenna Hanley and Robertson just to go back to four yeah in front of what Wilson I've thrown in James Forest and white left a tough callum my Gregor so we'll get all things going down what I think it's gotten a bit strange on the wings attack them in the middle I would have Billy Gilbert and only someone feeding from the back four and then allowing John McGinn and to freedom in front of him because he's getting so much strength so much ability he can cause havoc and then I would claim a comedy upfront to start with because if you look at his last few games this man united the use to strength his knowledge and experience to hold up and to prevent them coming back put them under pressure and it's throw in shantland to do smoothie front and back post that's my option as a slight change with high pressure energy for these guys Donald good rationale behind it you've changed it a bit guys who wants to take it first Mark I spoke about the possibility of a back four other night and Donald but Steve Clark's not going to change now unless I was real dramatic injury crisis but I do like a back four and oh Stephen likes a back four and my thinking was a way to get James Forest into the team to be honest you know that that was my thinking so I do like your team I'm not supposed to be Cal McGregor wide now let me go with John McGinn the wide area and have McGregor inside but it can be flexible your team is going to be flexible I like the idea of a tournament up right up front off the striker off the main number nine but I'm feeling to win the game tonight I don't think it's going to be easier I think it's going to be nearby and it might go the last 10 minutes to try and get a winner I think James Forest shantland all those guys are going to have a role to play middle at the front I think we'll be making three or four changes to to freshen it up Donald before we go to Stephen what are you going to say you came back in there yeah well what my reasoning for shantland up front I've got a lot of time for she Adams yeah but I felt he was going too deep and he was causing too much shame too much in the middle of the path there wasn't enough space there and the reasoning was shantland's a bit of mobility is not the best of movement but he'll cause them from breaking forward that's just my option but I just went and went yeah sure Stephen Donald I agree with you but I think that's she Adams's job that was his job there on night and I'm sure she had them's would love to be in that front line getting loads of touches getting loads of chances but his job there on night along with John was to stop granted Jack a dictate in the play the team you read out is something similar to how I would imagine the team because I have the preference for the four I don't think Steve Clark I think Steve Clark could go the three I don't think there'll be many changes I'm expecting just one but from watching Aston Villa all season John plays narrowly out wide in a 4-4-2 so it wouldn't be foreign to for that to him should we need to go to a four or you could have four us one side John on the other side and it wouldn't be a challenge for either those guys to to adapt to that but um shantland no matter what Steve Clark will know this no matter what happens tonight if it goes wrong a million people tell me should have played him we should have showed him Steve Clark's got to close the book before this game on his team and be comfortable with it and say this is my gut feeling this is a team I believe can win and he'll know he's able to be shot at if he doesn't Donald the team are about to leave the hotel which is in the center of Stuttgart what's going to be the result tonight by 10 o'clock what do you feel Scotland to hungry milk Donald where are you going to be watching it where are you in this fine country that's fantastic you know well yeah up near the dairy and all that yeah you speak the wise one is very nice for me yeah yeah mula very rich part oh beautiful are you beautiful only only a free kick from me Donald near luck Donald cheers Donald enjoy tonight the gory do your football show with Scottish tubes and fittings Scotland's independent pipe work supplier and fabricator let's go yeah we're still alive and kicking in the tournaments the euros tonight game three for Scotland a mass win up against hungry the man who joined us earlier from talk sport our friend Jim White Jim is with us live from Germany good evening Jim ball good evening to you good evening guys yeah i'm calling you from a very very good to you from a very warm day tonight hey goodness the heat wave here has begun right wow it's about time Jim isn't it's quite good here in Glasgow today as well Jim what a tournament so far i mean obviously on talks work you've got Scotland you've got England as well and my goodness has been such they're not happy are they at all in England but we would love to have the four points as we go into the final game we might talk about that in a minute or two but the Scotland fans have been the story almost Jim haven't they've been just so overwhelmingly taken to the heart of the Germans and the mayor the so many different people have said look the Scots are different classes it's been good to see it has Paul I mean not only have they taken over Stuttgart tonight with it where the game is against the Hungarians they've taken over Germany to be quite honest I mean right now i'm speaking to you from Dusseldorf yeah four and a half hours drive from Stuttgart so it's over 400 kilometers away from Stuttgart Paul I walked down the banks of the Rhine in Dusseldorf this morning and I bumped into dozens upon dozens of Scotland fans who have based themselves here and who gave it right up until late last night they were telling me a lot of them from indeed from Aberdeen they were on websites trying to buy tickets for the game tonight some of them got them but they paid a heavy price about six or seven hundred quid per ticket and then some of them were telling me Paul well they were trying to get through they get through and they're trying to get the deal done to find themselves a 600 quid ticket and then all of a sudden it goes and the moment goes you know the chance has gone to find them but I mean they're spirits honestly it does nothing to deter the their spirits came soon as the other day Paul and he was saying and we're Scottish of course we're out but they are the best of the best I mean the Germans loved them they've taken them to their heart and the Scotland fans here have been magnificent absolutely magnificent yeah in fact Steven your brother John was asked about it yesterday and about the fans if we could go through that would mean everything really I think the way they've conducted themselves but I think you see the the messages from the the local males the police officers the residents that it makes you proud to be Scottish really proud to have them supporting us so they've done their part of the journey and the job and it's up to us to send them home with more memories more unforgettable memories than I'm sure they've already made so we can feel that we really thank them for all the support it's been absolutely incredible and I think I can echo what John Carver said that anthem was the best I've ever heard and hopefully it can be even better tomorrow night it was indeed the anthem but the game itself tonight Jim what's your sense of it we don't think there'll be many changes obviously Scott McKenna will come in that's what you feel Steven one change do you think we're going to do it Jim well I mean I am the man Paul who moments before Scott and Germany in the LA answer you know was saying this feels great this feels terrific doesn't it never walked out and left with a 5-1 drawing I mean Paul to be honest yes can we do of course we can it's familiar territory isn't it yeah I mean I can remember a way back in Mexico in 86 I've mentioned to the you to about this before Paul and it was a similar situation in in Mexico we lost it then Mark we lost the West Germany we had to beat Uruguay and we couldn't do it unfortunately and the game finished goal is we can do it can we be hungry tonight yes I mean the hung it not the best time of it here they lost you want to Switzerland they're lost to the host nation by two goals to nil and the only player I know in that lineup is the boss lie of Liverpool are they good of course they're good technically very good but the individuals we've just been speaking about the fans will be the I hope tonight and they will do everything to get our boys over the line and we'll be good players Stephen's brother been one of them so let's hope Mark let's hope Stephen that tonight is going to be special and I really really hope it is and Paul as I speak I'm sitting to you I'm sitting here in the 15th floor about overlooking the river Rhine here in Dusseldorf and I see a huge pack of Scots walking down on the other side of the bank towards the fan part and it's four and a half hours drive away where the game is but they're here and they're looking forward to it you know it's unbelievable fantastic Jim just kidding I don't know heading to your hotel and if you've got a tab you better shut it down before he'll start arriving. Exactly I mean come over I mean for any scores in the area it's a beautiful hotel overlooks the river Simon Jordan will be there and he is with a few quid long Jordan will scale out absolutely sure it is well Stephen's in any Scotland top here is that one of John's or no this is a battle we are in a war it to a game so it's starting to smell battery but you know that's it I think I think for the locals or the ones out there without tickets because Germany play tonight obviously at the same time they've got a bit of an issue with the fan zones so I know a couple of fans that may be just staying at brace at Dusseldorf or Frankfort thinking we'll get a better chance maybe not going to a stick up just in case the the fan zones are mental somewhere here we can definitely watch again. Is Jim sitting there Paul and I think we're all feeling a bit bit but it's just getting closer the team will be announced in the next hour or so but within the verge of a special special night you've covered World Cup you can get back 40 years Jim's taught him at Mexico nearly 40 years ago all of this support all the times that we've been into a last game situation thinking we can do it think we can do it and we've never quite managed it you think it was the last time we were at the Euro's a bus down the road 1996 but prior to the last one and then we were through and then England can see the goal to hold it in that yeah that knocked us out you know David's even made a hash of it and there we are we're out after Alan McCoy should get in as a victory so I said football owes us nothing you know the Euro's competition owes Scott a nothing but perhaps we were just due are we turning it surely goodness what do are we turning the night to get us through. That's what I was going to say I've had three in my lifetime only three 35 three and they've all been the last game Morocco was obviously a disaster yeah in France but that Switzerland won we we did our part we don't need to rely on what happens in the Germany Switzerland game a one now screamer from someone puts us by accessory and that's what the boys that if you look at the message and isn't just cliche they know they're about they've got it in a grasp to achieve something special. Jim remember the Morocco night that was probably your last night with STV before you went down to Sky and I found that such a depressing that member going to San Etienne we still had a chance it didn't happen. Jim 82 in Spain you remember that as well we had the chance with Russia and we didn't do it. The only thing I would say is the mindset is better now than it was then. I promise you see being around the camp sometimes brilliant players I don't think they I think they were look they gave it everything but the mindset was that they would probably go out the tournament I just sense and you're there Jim that with this squad they really want to surprise us tonight and go through. I think I think so Paul nobody saw that result against Morocco coming to be honest I mean Scotland lost and they lost badly that night funnelling up here in there just with their poll again a taxi yesterday and the taxi drivers are you from England? I said no no no well I live in England but yeah Scotland I'm following Scotland oh great Scotland oh you remember France 98 Morocco I am Moroccan now I wouldn't know who I said Paul but Jim is the old lane he was off school for a week yeah exactly when I go the taxi I make sure I knock the fairs off his head but um you know it's one of those more than any blankums. Exactly but Mark I think you're right I mean let's just hope and pray that we've bought the trend tonight and when it really counts we desperately need a win but again you know I really mean this it's the same for the Hungarians Paul I'm just looking as I'm talking to you it's 24 degrees here at the moment um it is very very hot in Stuttgart it's going to be 21 degrees a kick off so it's going to be it's going to be very very warm tonight but I think everything's on the line everything's on the line Stephen's brother knows that the rest of the boys know that you look around the place Robertson McChomney I mean come on to Shankling get in there there are players there who've been over the course they can they can they'll give everything Paul of that there is no doubt and I'm hoping and praying that it can be a great moment it can be a great great night the Germans feel very confident that they will make it three out of three tonight and they'll get a win so quietly while they're doing that I just hope that we can do our bit against Hungary and and meet this tonight to remember and Jim what do you think on England I see Harry Kane did the press conference and he's saying that we're calm ahead of it um it's strange we wondered if you've got the best player arguably in La Liga in the team yeah in the Bundesliga as well obviously billing him Kane and obviously Phil Fordon as well the best player maybe in England in the past season and it's not happening so far do you think it is going to come good well quite simply it's got to Paul I was in Frankfurt the other night for the Denmark game and Denmark were magnificent their supporters were unbelievable I think I mentioned it I may be mentioned it to you afterwards Paul half an hour after the final whistle I was looking out at the stadium the stadium in Frankfurt's unbelievable it's phenomenal say I'm track Frankfurt and the German fans are way to my left refused the Denmark fans refused to leave the Danish fans were fabulous they were singing and singing and dancing they just loved it the players stayed on the pitch um and it was as if the Danes had won it and a way to my far right the England fans had left they'd gone there wasn't an England player on the pitch by that stage and they were all back inside so England left quietly the other night with a lot in their minds and they've got a lot to do here to be quite honest Paul to win back the the confidence of the support they didn't like where they saw the other night in Frankfurt and they made that quite clear there were booze at the end and when we left we left and there were there were a lot of comments that were not too complimentary towards England and Southgate and they have it all to do but I mean it's Slovenia you would think in Cologne they'll do that and get the job done on Tuesday but I honestly thought they would get job done against Dan Martin Frank for the other night and they very much didn't Jim on that I mean you know the criticism of Gareth Southgate it's going I think you know I think considering what he he's achieving I think he handles the criticism really well a lot of dignity and really good professionalism the way he speaks and represents his country and protects his players but the thing that I was really surprised about to an extent was you know like a Gary Lineker Alan Sheerard you know pundits on your own show they really seemed to turn the Harry Kane and he was getting it tight I mean he was getting a level of criticism he thought wow you know this is one of the top I know he's a captain you know but I just thought it was a bit over the top I don't know if you agree or not yes I do and I do my well there was a sharp intake of breath when Kane was substituted so early on in the second half and you're like Kane Harry Kane wow and he trudged off and honestly I think there has been a bit of a change of mood and they very much didn't like what they saw this the night the trap they're like our fans well they're not like our fans are fans of the best as we know guys but the England fans travel in huge numbers markets you know and there was an enormous support for them the other night and they've spent good money getting here and they didn't like it they quite simply did not like what they saw and at one stage mark with about 10 maybe five 10 minutes to go if you were to pick a team who you thought was going to win on the night then you would have picked Denmark because it was them who were doing all the pushing it was them who were on the offense they wanted to try and win that game and England got out of there with a point and that very much was uppermost in the minds of the traveling England support they were not happy they were happy and it was so they didn't clear I felt what that was gonna say I'd be a game I felt that if say I'd be a decalised at any point in that second half there was only one one in as well I don't know why they look so off it but because as Paul said they've got some of the top players from the season but it really really strange really strange to watch it Jim maybe I know what today I mean they're under pressure but Paul I think you know they've got all to do Luke Shaw as I understand it didn't train yesterday a trip he was filling in and left back at the moment and it's not it's not just having a lip and it's okay it would ideally ideally want to feel Paul yeah Jim just before you go we really love hearing your insight what's happening there in the ground wasn't that brilliant news today that Alan Hansen is home from hospital and Jim it was on your show and talks more on Monday morning when you revealed it with the Graham Sunnis had spoken to him isn't it fantastic news that he's back home and well in the way to recovery yes it is Paul I was delighted to hear that soon as suddenly through that in the other day and we were thrilled to hear it then on Friday he was on with us again Paul he had another couple of calls from Alan and Alan was it he's got a very good dry sense of humor and Graham was saying that he sounded in good form so yeah that was terrific news to get there Paul and you know you never know maybe Steve Clark I'll mention that tonight before the boys go out yep Barry Ferguson after you were on a week past Friday Jim when you went off the phone Barry said Jim should go into the dressing room and give them a team talk it might have been different Mark the five one Jim tonight I'm not listen we could do we might not know tonight but we need to get the three points and it looks then as though we would be into the the group of 16 for the first time I would be absolutely brilliant Paul it really was and it's it's only were these brilliant traveling fans who have made the trip here to Germany it's only what they would truly truly deserve to a special night a special win and who knows is it going to happen let's hope and pray that it does enough Paul Barry Ferguson you know you know he might be reading my mind because I went down in the alley answer you know and I went into this column for now well you went into the dressing room ever just lost you lost you what happened Jim down in the dressing room yeah I would just say Barry must have been reading my mind because I went down the huge number of flights of Sears went to the Scotland dressing room I began the motivational speech ball and I was shocked out not for the first time Jim you were always the foot in the door and you go Jim great to hear you how's the washing and all that everything okay the housekeeping you and mr Jordan that's a very good question actually I'll lay into a secret I was in a long dread in Dusseldorf yesterday morning and I was loading my machine but I didn't know how to get the I didn't know how to get the the soap sides out the machine and I get all very very kindly lent me her box of german personal oh oh god exactly Jim great to hear you indeed have a design Jim we'll speak to you soon thank you so much thank you the gourdio football show with Scottish tubes and fittings proudly serving Scotland for 27 years open seven days well Jim went me a lost his dignity yesterday in the laundry and dusseldorf that's a great line isn't it but they're german people helped him Jim different classes don't know Jim and dot court and give it a thanks Gary's on we're getting messages from people but despite that we're staying on here till seven tonight not getting really appreciate it saying guys best build up on the radio so doing our best brosses as well I would imagine yeah be up and up and we'll probably hear soon yeah um we'll find out who they're all in touch the expat scott's all getting touched beforehand and yeah it's brilliant tonight what's going to happen we're just we were watching there weren't we for the team to leave the hotel which I believe is right in the centre of the city yeah right in the city centre so obviously the fans as you said that the bus gives it away fans waiting in big numbers to give them the final send off before they go out to the stadium which is it's all part of it the player experience and I know John touched it earlier about not feeling the nerves you know there'll be the desperation to get over the line however however it takes that that feeling your stomach when you're just you need the game to start almost so it just goes away um is it the game's easy but it's that preparation how you can handle it how you keep it in check and they lead up to kick off what a sense of occasion the manager spoke about that listen the whole the whole tournament's a sense of occasion to come out here and to be involved in for scott first Scotland the first major overseas tournament since 1998 1998 I was still playing it's a long time ago so it's nice for them to be here and I think you can see with the supporters that we've got out here how much they're enjoying being here I'm sure the people back in Scotland the other five million that didn't manage to travel I'm sure that they also are engrossed in the tournament and wishing as well so that's what it means to everybody so it's not just about this game it's about all the games obviously we get into the point of the tournament but we know we have to win the game to progress the next round and that's what we aim to do yep he's just going on the team bus we can see john carver there as well mark sense of occasion there's nothing like these major tournaments I keep thinking for so long we were aching to get to it as the team bus it's just about to leave the Stuttgart city centre hotel yeah really exciting now Paul you know I don't know maybe Stephen or no if John's told what the the charisma is does he announce the team in the morning game before the game as you do it once you get to the stadium and the dressing room whatever it may be but the boys they'll be probably nine and i'm no for shoot i'm going to start maybe just one or two maybe we can add out so we're different positions but yeah really exciting now the big they'll be going and for every Scottish person Paul you would love to be in the shoes of one of those guys tonight to go and you know be on the verge i've been one victory away one outstanding performance away from Kate and history not just for a it's not just about one club and the whole country Steve Clark just said they are more than five million people uniting tonight whether they're in the stadium or all around the world to see a Scotland victory so that buzz was the decoy they're coming at the hotel now that was some of the coaching staff sorry Stephen we can see the players come out and i kind of rather naughty that's a terrible word it's a casual kind of suit they're on yeah yeah casual gear looks very smart yeah the modern day suit to a game that is yeah is it a racket yeah yeah but i just want what Mark was saying yeah that feeling i mean obviously went with my mum dad to the the team hotel there all night and you're just sitting having a we were having an alcoholic drink the the guys were having a co-op and a bit to eat and they were talking the way Mark was just talking the these guys are just it john and drops and they're so relatable they could honest that he could be sitting here they could be at the game they could be paying in to watch the game they know i mean this country's over the last 20 years Jim White was just on talking about England sometimes that golden generations the the fans felt distant from them it's England that's one thing this group of Scotland players you can't label at them they they are in it and they're in it all we're all in it together and they know how important that is to try and win tonight they certainly do as the team leaves Jim's just told me the Albanian squad have just arrived in his hotel and including somebody that you remember Mark Pablo Sabaleta the coaching staff so remember of course wasn't it exactly yeah so Vigno of course they were taking them the man as we see Stevie Clark yeah the rest of the the the management team getting on the the bus that that's heading to the the stadium you know just be feeling the ball just be wanting going to strip get out of it and then it won't happen who was on that bus that i saw earlier because it wasn't john calvert but it wasn't about it wasn't it i think i think that was the morning in the show and going on to john calvert i told you the bus isn't very discreet no indeed i know for sure it's great to see it isn't it the Scotland colours to see the team there emblazoned on i often wonder why the the big two here don't do more of that you know rangers have their own bus Celtic their own bus and you don't get the way they do it i mean man city Liverpool you know you know they're in town although i can imagine in some ways yeah some if you get interested in the bus you're in the wrong part of the city yeah okay ah true enough look at the Scotland fans they're mark they're they're spending their money so much of it on being over there i wonder if they're in wait we hope and pray that they're staying longer yeah i mean uh i'll be interested to see you know that there could be a lot of people falling out of work to try and get an extra week um obviously you know it could well be that we're putting against Spain next sunday night if we get if we get a win uh tonight so what do they do i can't remember the stadium's a back unit if that happened i'm doing the issue of frankfort but anyway um so they'll be organization and i don't know as well i don't want to get carried away yeah but how the ticket situation what's pulled for the last 16 so are all the tickets sold or half of them sold and they keep half back then release them to the two federations that are involved so that you know a number of Scotland fans can get them i don't know what i hear them i say oh but winch is to see how it all uh unfolds but the thought of Scotland guarantee a third week of of of a term it's unheard of you know it's unheard of you don't want to be the first nation to be knocked out um either you know you want to get you want to get involved i think i think the three potential venues are Munich Cologne and frankfort um because i know the the town of Cologne are absolutely there so the city of command are absolutely desperate they want to have Scotland back yeah a bit of a bromance girl on the you know the sister who does well they do they love the Scots when they were there want to give a shout out and i know you do as well what a result last night for the warriors Glasgow warriors beating the bulls all the way to South Africa stadium packed full of South Africans Glasgow they were what 13 knell down Stephen we were talking about it just before 21 16 win for the warriors absolutely fantastic claiming an improbable urc title well done Glasgow yeah amazing um i said to you but before it i'm not i'm not a massive rugby fan but i'm a big sport fan and i watched rugby and i think the Glasgow have watched them a few times and they've been on watched your nephews team muster you go against Glasgow um but probably i don't know if that's just stuck in a park time rugby fan i didn't think it's possible for Glasgow to go to South Africa and a cup final and beat one of their own so in front of Phil House so amazing to the guys and i'm sure that i haven't enjoyed a two-day binder let's hope that a wee omen mark for tonight for Scotland we we can't stress too much this is really tough game the Hungarians were fancy there's maybe outsiders to go quite deep into this tournament yeah but i thought before i thought before i'd always kicked gm with when the section yeah hungry would be setting then i thought it was a shoot out between ourselves and swoops on for third sport but it's not it's not in some ways maybe it's that in terms of a hungry can still be involved but i i didn't expect hunger to be on zero points after two games for sure nobody could see it we haven't mentioned yet though big fly no limit is the fact that kian tini is not going to play so he's out he's turned him it's over he's back i would imagine in london did you see him at the hotel the other night um you know after the game i mean obviously he would be yeah totally gutted as everyone is yeah it was part i mean a lot the friends and families were waiting then you can it's such a horrible thing i mean football the these guys are financially paid but the rollercoaster you go on and you're looking at i mean you see kian tian his mum his girlfriend and you just know they're just feeling such pain your disappointment tonight will be getting out the tournament in terms of if we if we don't win the game but his tournaments finish within yet another injury a summer of uncertainty for him anyway in terms of where he plays his football but upon that he's probably dealing with a really bad hamstring injury again and mark we know he is such an important player in this one top player yeah top player are you worried perhaps a best player ball to go on and say well i just hope for him that he's back soon then i hope that he's able to get you know some games under his belt before the end of august you know so he can go and get a move clearly there's no future for him Arsenal so whether he gets sold or whether he has to go on loan again um but wait and see but he just talked for him because his body he said he said a lot in his paul over over a number of years i think is a way back to you know he's very teenage years and different things but um for his own sake first and foremost i wish him all the best and i hope it's not a lengthy absence that he's got i think he's that good that if he didn't have any injury problems Arsenal would win a premise at this season do you yeah i think it's such small margins that he lost and really tight one of them i i don't think's in cenco's as good as kian tianna at his best and obviously i watched it as tavilla beat them home in a way and that was one of the bits where you could target's in cenco i don't i don't think he's of the level as a fully fit kian tianna and you would not have been targeting kian tianna in the same way that they did no they may have targeted him but he did out with a better that's an hour to go two hours to kick off just an hour until we'll well bring you the team use i would imagine just before seven o'clock the first hour we heard jim white telling us um about the journey so far and the fact that we are yeah we've still got a huge game 90 odd minutes to go but we could be through to the last 16 if we win tonight mark would you automate that so i was through i know technically we have to wait on someone i i don't have a nigga my main power think i'll go through i'd be absolutely astounded if four points doesn't take us through okay quick break and then we're back you know the number oh eight oh eight seventeen seventeen seven hundred the gory do your football show with scottish tubes and fittings pipes fittings and valves for every application including water oil steam and gas let's go scottish tubes and fittings are the go-to guys for pipe work fabrication and supplies whether it's copper steel or galvanized unique stainless steel or upvc they do cup design boilers pumps valves and gauges 27 years they've been in this game exceptional through the ages did you know scottish tubes and fittings are open seven days a week called Glasgow six four seven five thousand the gory do your football show with scottish tubes and fittings Scotland's independent pipe work supplier and fabricator let's go thanks fergie and gary for putting that together executive producer James posted missing he's on holiday as well deserved he's over there in Germany so will he be staying on after tonight we'll find out scottender in the bus on the way to the stadium let's get the traffic news now in German from Stephen McGinn we spent a lot of tax exile over there but he's back in this country for a few days at least yeah the autobahn yeah they'll stop with road waters in the m8 they're well indeed so we're hearing from John McGinn in the first hour and also the manager Stevie Clark and Mark for him you know that night when we got through again Serbia the save from Mitrovich from David Marshall exactly tonight if we get three points it'll be the biggest thing for him I would imagine since that night yeah because there was a limited number of fans in Sierra for a start me the whole nation back home but we've got whatever it is 200 000 scott so I'll spread there in Germany so it's got not only in this country but over in Germany that it's been an invasion but it's at an army you know Jim Weitzel is he's in Dusseldorf 400 miles away and it can't get moving for scott's so it will be lift off Paul I don't think we'll have seen scenes like it to be perfectly wrong you mean that because it is a I know we're all making history making history but just imagine it during a clock tonight it's done it's a job done and then we've got a week of looking forward to whoever it is in the last 16th we might end up getting spain but we could end up with something like Ukraine or something like that you know so it's not just going to be on the last 16th we're home you just don't know what could happen but let's try and do the job tonight give it a best shot like you know produce the same and kind of level of spirit and desire that we showed against what's on and then we can do that and then just take it up a wee notch we need to create more chances Paul and every chance we can do it tonight Amanda's been on the socials that go through ball show saying Stephen can you dare to dream at the moment yeah that's what we're all doing yeah and Mark said it is such a long break until that next round it'll be amazing I was thinking at this morning I was at my little boy's football this morning and he's usually in me's folk at Aston Villa and mother will strip and it's everyone else who took me in just everyone Scotland struck the driving along home and it's probably a tip of your thoughts in terms of you watching see all the Scotland flags and a little girl saying can we get a flag for the car we live in a society we are from nine months of the season it's a boiling point with football you never know who's sell to those rangers what's going on someone's lost at the weekend is took this it's not often as a nation we're totally united and I think everyone but they're just buying into it and just desperate for it to continue for another seven or eight days my son Paul said that to me at the start of the tournament he said dad to see for a few weeks everyone's for Scotland and that is good on a football nation football mad nation like us Hungarian blood in the family with them again so let's hear what John was saying about this which is a great line yeah when the draw was made definitely uh Manko Joe my little cousin's Mark and Thomas they live in Chopron in Hungary we're born in Scotland but they're half Hungarian half Scottish one of them went Scotland to win one of them once Hungary it went Manko Joe told us that this morning so but for as I hope young Thomas is is sad tomorrow night marks a good line isn't it yeah I like that yeah for Joe and he's he's he's boys in there for the family obviously the begins we know those handles on them so you know John's for a bit red talk he's getting a good luck message from all of them but it's a lovely wee insight and obviously we're very lucky and good either we have Stephen who's got a foot in the camp you know but keeps a private stop private which is right but to have that wee insight um to and the boys are very open they fair them in the media stop what a difference in the past four days compared to the 48 or even Steve Clarke you know he had to lighten up he had to be more positive in his message and because that felt astute of the players felt astute of the nation you've got his smile you've got to be upbeat you've got to be positive and I think that's been a learning cover for Steve as well and to be fair you know he took a media conference last Saturday which isn't after we'd have been trying to cover I thought that was your leadership it's going to the front and it's going to be a bit of light coming to some tough questions I'm the manager I'll go and handle it but no Steve Clarke I know him socially as well he's brilliant he's great company he loves his job he loves his players loves his country and that's why today come to 10 o'clock we're hoping his job done from so close of course great part of the country Stephen what about that family connection then your nephews yeah um obviously they were born in Scotland move out to Hungary I'm going to speak both both damages lovely boys they come over to the Liverpool game so we were saying obviously John's bought them a couple of straps again he's box and we're thinking what a amazing day playing his Liverpool hadn't even thought a sober's lie of course so they're an absolute I mean John's there but sober's lies above because we forget I mean this one calls telling me just now Hungary is a mad football country it is yeah they're desperate to get back to the house of the past and he was telling me the land of real pressure further performance so far at the euros they're going into this game where there's a demand on them to win the game and Michael Rossi is under pressure isn't he the manager yeah they can't finish bottom either if they don't go through as a base please start team they don't want to be finishing bottom in that section they expect him to lose his job if they don't win the game and qualify tonight so a huge game but yeah nice touch from John and as I said I do hope he told me he's not not happy tomorrow let's hope so Mark you're always great at looking at the facts and the figures what we're looking for from Germany again Switzerland this evening Germany win but they'll make changes probably yeah I mean ideally you're looking for Germany to win then you know there's then becomes a circumstance where we may actually be able to finish second if we win our game but Paul just without getting into it all because it's we are the first team to play the last round of fixtures out all the groups just it's very simple at the moment going win the game that's a clear message there's clarity and Steve Clark's team talked tonight there's clarity for every player it's not there's not enough but in a maybe scenario it's just going win the game going to your job that's what you're here for to win games of football and go make a nation proud yeah I don't think I don't think Steve Clark will need to add too much in terms of you know and if anything I think he'll be trying to calm the players down in terms of how much they want to leave everything out there he's probably thinking right just keep calm I think they'll be two important messages I think the first one set pieces I think we've looked really down dangerous from set pieces the delivery was absolutely on the money the night I thought the ball from Robertson for and Emily's head I was real top drawer and not fluke obviously we've seen them do it up for years at Liverpool even going back to some of your best wins under Steve Clark that late me too many winner at hand him is from a corner Stephen sorry he just won that point I don't know if you agree and if I hope it changes tonight because Scott McTormaly was taking a lot of corners and my first thought is okay he's got a lovely delivery but why you know and in the receiver then he's six foot four I think he's a tallest player I think I think that's one thing that I got you know because we've got either John you could have handed over so you could barely get over yeah the van not calm me great I'm sure and I just said right why are you taking that presence out of the box yeah and I would always have in the box a great point Mark and I think one of the only positives that we can't even out is that added aggression from Scott McTormaly on top of Grant Hanley as you said hopefully Scott McTormaly so I think set pieces are going to be absolutely key tonight the other thing is what the referee could be like in terms of first non-European ref at the tournament he's from Argentina Ficundo Tello four red cards in his last five games what so I think discipline could be really important tonight I think that'll be a big message in fact I think about message Steve Clarke repeats just before they go out remember we need a living players here I know it was too old when Ryan Portius get sent off but once you go down to 10 minutes this level is very very difficult so keep your heads and let them with the ones that crack and also as well as goals against and all the rest of the goal difference Mark it could come down to it's possible that they take in the disciplinary yeah as part of the point system if we ended up absolutely level with say Switzerland or hunger yeah so I mean for example if you went tonight we end up with four points with Switzerland it goes down to the country's head-to-head so obviously it's a draw so it's we then go to overall goal difference in disciplinary record and we've had a great catch yeah so we are yeah we are taught and as Steven said right it's so important we always say it when our team's in Europe at club football it's hard enough to win a game but going down to 10 men makes it almost impossible so don't be doing that nothing daft clear heads clear minds if you're not getting the referee for whatever reason just crack on it but you know no daft tackles no unnecessary yellow cards for back chat none of that kind of stuff just focus on your job stay clean don't come to the attention of the referee or vah it was a big night for Angus Gunn the other night Mark and his former goalkeeper in the squad and told Joe Hart joins us Mark I nearly jumped in with that earlier on time it was really good you know what I'm saying that Monday when the boss is going did well didn't he against Switzerland it got a couple of early important say that's a very good score though but always say you know again go back when they're clubs in Europe champions the level or a national team to do well to go that extra step you either call it goalkeeper you're doing and I can say my name is going he's obviously a very good goalkeeper he's a really good goalie but my nigga won't he doesn't he makes saves it one year games you know big big saves you know when he's called upon and that was my and that's what happened in the first game in the Friday night against Germany so there was a bit of pressure on him and again Steve Clark stopped by him and rightly so it was a great call and he produced two outstanding saves again at Joe Hart and a bit of detail in the crap in vertical Mr. Science in behind goalkeeper but no he was good and that'll do him the world a good guarantee today Stephen you were there at the match what did you think of the goalkeeper probably the same as Anthony Rousin he he'll have felt the criticism after the first game but also I think a nod to Steve Clark's experience and I said before the squad was announced about if Angus Gunn if everything doesn't go away on the first game and Craig Gordon's in the squad imagine a noise in between games for Craig Gordon to get the nod I think that helped to Steve Clark in terms of nobody was ever going to scream from the rooftops for lame kaleas and a clark no disrespect to go in so it probably allowed Angus Gunn that little bit of breather to get his head right and he delivered a performance and as John touched on his interview we can't do this tonight without Angus Gunn he is probably a most important player tonight he's going to have to make saves so hopefully kicks on again gets even better from Wednesday preparation for the big game he's Steve Clark a lot of recovery a lot of rest hopefully some good information for the players a really good training session this morning good information for them and then when they cross the white line they have to put that information and you practice on the pitch and hopefully you see there you see the results at the end and Marcus Abal is giving them enough information but not too much the other thing is the top class pros aren't they the idea they're out at night you know eating sandwiches and trying to get a few beers and Argentina it's just not on it's different days you don't want to overload them no no and they'll know it's well you know they'll do their own homework and our information is now freely available to order the analysis team and stuff so they'll be aware and what it is for Steve Clark and his staff it'll be John Calver whether it be James Morrison, whether it be Austin McPhee, Chris Woods remember just pick a wee nugget just pull somebody aside when it's sitting the walk the day in the time remember remember this week point or this or that then they'll get their information and set pieces etc etc so it's not again again Paul it's not it's not science you know so it's not rocket science it's just we we nugget some information that might just you know remember keep him off he's right foot show me and say the nobody remember just get a wee tug stand in front of the goalkeeper that set pieces don't let him kill whatever it is just we different things it's just oh I yep and just reinforce that that at any level still I think Steve know how to order in this career at any level it's just wee nuggets that might just give you an edge yeah there's there's bits I mean you speak text he met sometimes it crops up and you say remember so and so memory just used to try and tell you every bit of information everything they wanted to do in the 10 minutes before they came and you felt it's saying you can't obviously they could just go away so what Matt says all the just let it remind us they don't know their coaching staff work they've worked together they're very very close to players and coaches they'll know the ones that maybe just want to be patting the back of the ones that say come on did you get a little guillot remember the late great Tommy Buns Paul told a wonderful story and when matt then he all came to sell to it and told me he was on the staff in matt and you know he was really right at the the staff for the first you know four or five ones for the first team and then you know having to type with the fleet and see matt and work in Tommy said you know so then remember when I was Celtic manager you get that 15 minutes at half time he said as soon as the players walked in he said I was all over that right this and that and the next thing I can bring a replay and I shouldn't have said I'm still chasing them doing the tunnels looking up for the second half still trying to give them information he said in the watch bar in the new he just let them come in they would have a cup of tea or whatever it may be they'll just they would just speak for two minutes did he just before they were gonna he would say you remember bump you remember this bump bump bump in any be a collective message again just a very short shot nation Tommy you know that's much more effective than right now you know a thousand different messages for in the space of 15 minutes I mean I spoke before about you know younger I always wanted to be a manager and you always think about getting into these dressing rooms in the team talks sometimes the best team talks are for your run-in-the-mill games games you maybe just a little bit off it you're needing that G up and the best managers just give you that real motivational team talk see these games tonight the players who have replayed that in their head since Wednesday night I know from speaking to obviously John but a few of the boys Wednesday they know they know what's required of them so the last thing you need is a manager to even G up sometimes I mean the best managers I've had sometimes you just say look you know the job you know and then the little bits remember your job it set pieces remember the referee can be caught happy keep calm don't give them an opportunity I hear you on that one tonight watch for the referee because that's the last thing we need going down to 10 men if that were to happen I heard you I could see you grimace when Steven said that earlier Mark you've not got a lot of them in the pitch were done I'm not one in the game John again up in front of the media yesterday and then he was asked I mean clearly he would love these scored so many important goals for us but not so many recently he said it himself oh it would mean I mean everything obviously I'm aware of it I had been used to a sort of nice runner form goals wise and big Scotty's taking that man on I'm delighted about that so may get a shot and go first before I can think of it scoring so hopefully I can get involved in those areas keep making the same runs same movement hopefully tomorrow night we'll have more of the ball and getting a score and obviously it would absolutely mean the world to me to get a goal tomorrow night we all know the magnitude of the game it's a chance for us to to write ourselves in the history books and become a unique Scotty team so if it is me I'll take one off a right shin to go in the bottom corner it is a great talk I'll join as you know a club like for the music I kid that's sitting there and then particularly that has been an actual team villa and he goes for sales for the media works and newspapers and he's a dream he'll always give you a line you know he always give you a line something that you can go in focus on he's so relaxed as well when he speaks and just you know a real good senior member of of that squad he has a vice captain under Andy Robertson but you know Steve Clark and all the staff will have leaned in John so so much in the past couple of weeks great communicator does it run in the family do you think I watched what I see I've got the invincible over there he's been a big star here for us this season Steven but that is it he's been a goal behind Dali McCoy for a while it has been a while now and I know I think he spoke about him his chance against Croatia and and I know how frustrated he was at that team and I know how desperate he is to get that goal but I'm also where he is one of the biggest things I'll say about John he's he's a real team player but he genuinely he will not care if he never scores another goal for Scotland if he win games and it's not everyone's like that he can play as a champ take a hat trick to lose 4-3 I know that I've had one last year but he he would give in he never scored another goal if he can get to the court finals this year well he has a team player that takes a bit as unusual these days isn't it Mark you know you look at teams are maybe not but I'm not surprised to hear that a bit John and about that that group uh two boys because I think see if there was boys that were really selfish Steve clapped with a system at a while ago and and they wouldn't be part of it so it's so important to make sure you get there and that comes into the thinking in your name and a squad poll because it's not just about your ability it's what you like it's what you're unlike it's a human being so for example if you're no start in the game are you going to be destructive are you going to be about chatting for my weekly that's just lagging the manager and I'm not doing this I've written all so it's all about that as well harmony you're on the road together for you know potentially if you win tonight you're on the road together for nearly a month you know going back to to the camp and then going to Portugal back to Hamden and then down in the in the south of a of Jay so it's all those wee dynamics that go into it it's not just about ability it's about your personality and what you're like that phrase that we've used very often about being a good teammate and that's one port when you're on the road together Goryo football show with Scottish chibs and fittings with us all the way in the euros oh 808 17 17 700 Steven no I was just going to come in and what Mark was saying about what Steve Clark's about um Mike Moreini spoke really highly of the manager today I heard him and should this go wrong tomorrow there'll be sections of the media there'll be sections of this country that go for Steve Clark because I mean it's part and part of the job I think it's really important to highlight what failure tonight would mean in terms of what what failure looks like in terms of what we suffered for the last 20 years it's missing out and qualifying for the knock out rounds of the euros of back-to-back euros of what he's built in in that squad we think we can be hungry tonight I think it's hard to lose the competitive game for two years without hickey without partisan without tyranny without dikes you can go on the injury she suffered he has that dressing room as tight net as it's possible for a national team to be I mean anyone that gets close to squad it's the first it blows you away how close not the after national team so it's really important I don't think we can bring in a manager as good as Steve Clark Mark that's a really good point and I think we spoke about it the other week as well you know whatever happens you know come September we're going to you know the start of a process to get to the 2026 uh World Cup finals where you know believe it's going to be up to 48 nations so Steve for me would regardless of what happens in a poll Steve Clark deserves our opportunity and I bet you even if we lose tonight if we don't make it if you're to canvas the 26 players in the squad and couldn't the boys lose Ferguson and hickey and all those boys are under there if you ask the 30 players do you watch Steve Clark to to lead you um to try and lead you into the World Cup 22 I bet you to a man 26-day they would we would say yes absolutely and he's under contract to do that anyway and I hope that's if he stick by and I'm sure they will and that's why I make more any speak make such conviction and it's why you Maxwell speaks to such conviction about the manager because they know that they don't have one single problem maybe maybe no I'd meet in a bit bonuses or whatever but they don't have one single problem they don't have one single pull out unless it's a genia injury it's a really impressive what he's built yeah because the players when he came into this court when he came in his manager there was some things that he plays when they happy about in terms of preparation facilities because they all play a top lever then they're used to you know the highest of standards so they'll know what they can be with our country for a week and it's didn't so Steve Clark changed a chain facility through the help of floor talkies a wonderful facility at lesser hand in it they use I've got a first class hotel and classical city center they are the stars of the show and rightly so whereas some of the times they're playing second fidelity rugby and they're like cramped and a hotel etc etc so all those wee things with the new chef that's came in as well thinking what's the Arsenal Scottish boy so all the different wee things that add up to making it a right good camp and Steve Clark is really battered for them you know it really has the players appreciate that you know and by the way rightly so they're only asking for what you know if you want us to be a top nation qualified or to then give us you know give us a very very best that you can and credit to their safety you know they have backed it and they've listened to Steve Clark they've listened to the players and they've put a lot of the things in place no knee-jerk reactions we'll talk more about that and we'll build up towards the kickoff 90 minutes away or 90 six minutes till kickoff we're on till seven and we'll bring you the team news before we go the gory do your football show with Scottish tubes and fittings proudly serving Scotland for 27 years open 70s let's go! Steve McGinpokenate and Mark Goudy in this big country are not that big but the hearts are big in the minds everyone concentrating looking welling Scott if he could well them on Mark but doesn't know what that way he doesn't but huge game tonight and a great chance for us Scotland against Hungary one hour 25 minutes wasn't football that I mean I'm sure we're all the same and the studio you and I have got Steve McGinne John McGinne's big brother invincible McGinne said is invincible McGinne so yeah but we're just we're not football I think well and you can tell we're in a few years in the mood in the camp they're upbeat a confident they're not cocky a confident but it's Stephen you know pointed out we've got to remember it's a quality team of playing tonight and we're probably missing probably three guys it would be the strongest team see guys I'm missing from it so that you know that puts us a wee bit in the back foot but Hungary have disappointed so far it feels like time again they're probably there for the taking yeah Paul but they're a quality team Scotland they'll need to be bang on it and then something I went tonight there's the brave heart on just now Colin Henry ex Scotland 93 to 2001 and of course we remember him so well don't we mark in the World Cup in 98 but even yeah it's even he couldn't lead us to the last six competitors in France they're here of course we're going to be cast up you've been injured and yeah I mean he's a passionate Scotsman loves his country and he'll be he'll be well in Scotland on he joined us here in the Goryo football show last summer yeah and one of the big games as we built up towards this Stevie Clark was asked yesterday big speech is it going to be a big speech motivational you give the players just before kickoff tonight okay try and give them something everybody knows how big a game it is you can talk and talk and talk about it we probably did a little bit that too much about the first game so we're trying to underplay this one if we can if you can ever underplay a game in this magnitude but we're trying to underplay it a little bit make sure that we're well prepared and ready to go come kick off Stephen I mean there's no exact signs to I've seen everything you've got the video messages from the families you've heard videos from the season you've had the big brave hark speeches yes Roger message song there's no exact signs if you win whatever you've done in the lead up works if not then yes S and say oh don't do that again but really honestly it just comes down to how can the players are and can they deliver their best performance and people like Billy Conley when the big human you know he would send messages sometimes they would turn up with the not at the Scotland captain that they came here just for five minutes you want to go on there you sure yeah check my ease you know I think I just came and check gong did you see Chico check check check was there among them in covering the games at time yeah certainly certainly always you've got a few other ones so I did under his bill yes always the donation code check but yeah it's um it's some massive game oh you know we'll just but i'll get excited but we'll have the team within the next um three years since we can uh we can discuss that we should as we have just told but i think I say the start in 11 but we'll need a sub-tonic pull you know i don't i hope i'm wrong but i don't expect us to be two or three now i head after and i own it so i're up top making you know see all through the last ten minutes i think it's going to go either way yep germany on the six points and then Switzerland on four Scotland on a point of course hungry and no points so far it's unusual though isn't it Stephen that we could end up in second position that's you know a lot of things have to happen we have to score a battle of the goals tonight and then see what happens with germany who might want to keep the hundred percent record yeah um also a permutation but you're just looking on the screen probably tiny ease my nervous bin you're looking at that game tomorrow creation one point needing to be Italy you have to get to four points so i'm not disrespecting hungry in any way i think they're a really good team but it is a 50/50 match to one where we aren't needing to be an Italy um to qualify so i don't know if that is is anyone else's nurse but kept me calm for ten seconds mark does that work for you yeah i think this is our what is it what was this our 12th attempt our 12th major tournament goodness i had the facts the other day i think it is i think it's our 12th attempt i've never one never my i mean you think about it it's great getting through too much but you know 12 attempts not to do it but through it you know as i say football loads is nothing those Scotland ain't nothing but sometimes it's that we but i'll be bouncing the ball maybe we'll get that thing isn't it funny i've i've said before i thought that we we qualified for every tournament just lucky enough at 82 86 90 and then we missed them 94 back in in 98 but i remember that night we moved down to sanity and you were there but we went out and we went out with not even a whimper and i was really disappointed i remember it coming back and we were never back this is the first time a broad tournament we got back for 2020 as we know then delayed by Covid but we were in the wilderness for such a long time Stephen and you grew up you wouldn't remember are you just remembered 98 or 96 i remember my first tournament i was aware of was a 94 World Cup obviously we weren't at but yeah until 2020 i'd only witnessed is it two tournaments now do you think is a big i think it's i know it's it's hard to qualify but in terms of the mentality issue i do think when you watch teams like switzerland that swagger they've got at that level i do think we need to find a way of being at them more often so that we're more about already um for when that first game arrives he's your brother speaking about the pressure of a game like this certainly different i don't think you can compare compare club and international games of this magnitude i think it's nice that we've got a lot of players that have experienced those games obviously me and the lot of stages of my career been involved in a lot of high pressure matches but for us i don't think we are feeling that pressure we're feeling can anticipation what can be can we be that team that changing things takes a next step because the best thing in football is proving people wrong and i don't think a lot of europe think we can make that step and we've got full belief in the dressing room that we can and we are more excited than really keen to get going rather than feeling any sort of pressure and mark that's often when we're at our best if people write us off yeah i mean you know that this is mentality that we certainly steve clatt and the players had to produce it on on uh was it Thursday night uh Wednesday night rather um you know again so it's not otherwise they were going to really come in for some for you know some heavy criticism they pull if i were out after game two we know points um so they've managed to turn it around they've put themselves in a positive position tonight and it's a scenario that we know also well we've seen it so many times down the years or it's be Craig Brown Andy Roxborough Jockstein however it may be sir Alec Ferguson going when you're last game that's all we need to do just go out when you're last game but we've never managed it uh so far so why why can't it be tonight and you made the point earlier when we were speaking to the gym as always we have more of a confidence of a belief without being arrogant internally in that hotel tonight is a reason for the game um and stood gut that this can be the moment this can be the 19 minutes when we do it and and why not we should believe that it can be done i think a lot of us have still got a lot to take together especially personally probably not been involved as much offensively as as i've hoped the opening game collectively but personally was a bit right off want to forget um and the second one was all a bit grit determination running really all that was missing in the first game so as boys the front three that played left absolutely everything out there and hopefully we can replicate the same but obviously at the same time we've got different gears we can go up and levels to go up and hopefully we'll have the games to show up i think it's real just to make the point um to we were talking about joining again here on the pro and perhaps he's not made as big a contribution terms are on the eye you know just like you know penetrating is the same there they say well but what you've got to remember too if you're an opposition manager and you're doing your job properly which there will be you know just looking at sconce okay who can hurt us i'm not just talking about we simple messages this one you know niggas bin then another one of us said keep the eye and join me again just keep the eye and don't say never give us oxygen issues just just watch them you'll have a dig for don't let it get more you know that kind of thing so they'll they'll have singled out john as a guy like don't he's a man that could potentially hurt us so just keep a wee ex behind him yeah and also probably within the squad i mean i will i i go back to early youth squads you always tended to look up to the guys that played for the best teams and how they uh you become away from any squad member don't know if john and he's early scotting squad when you dask would be delighted to downflitch or scot down for etc the way john and guys like Andy Robertson carry themselves within that squad in terms of their stature at the club level probably sets a tone for the whole the whole group and whole culture of the group and the other night i know i know how disappointed john was with the first night he just uh he spoke about it there right early on the other night he closed down that sent half to put out for throwing then he wins a corner a bit two minutes two minutes later so as i'm sure he's hoping to have much more of an impact on the ball but i think something's a bit hard them so he forgets what that message sends to your she had them success and what a start that is right let's go yeah he's bang on it today yeah for sure yeah mark there was a good article in the herald this morning sunday herald just saying about Andy Robertson they don't sing that much about him or whatever that may just be because it doesn't fit the song but he was saying that he is that the town army yeah just it was it wasn't highlighting up but it didn't mention for example john again great make comedy some of it to do with that song that we've played early we might play again tonight but do you think that Andy Robertson as captain it's maybe doesn't quite get the credit these days that he deserves because he was reckoned tonight could be what 75th cabin from from the fans you talk about it but yeah perhaps so and i think when you're uh when you're a defender you know so if you're a john McGinan and Scott McTomany you're more than the front fruit and you're more get a chance to score the goals look at the goals it's got McTomany scored the last 18 months prior to that um what uh what john is called london days his chapter and she had him so it's a defender you're not going to beat me you speak about kian tian they potentially been the best player in the squad there's no song about kian tian you never hear the tap now may go so yeah i think for that putting in certainly a piece of them you've been the actual the number of times they watched the lupil and the cop love of Andy Robertson would have got that they've got the song um about him and by the way if there's not if he's not one of the pin-ups of the tap now may he certainly respected by them Paul he's he's a leader and i think Andy Robertson would strike me he's been the tater guy just took john was talking about um the other he'd be quite happy for singing a bit of other players that's fine oh you're on you go on or i know i'm appreciated internally i know deep down you know that the job that i do and if you've no get a song about me you're saying about john been john McTomany he'll be absolutely fine minute he'll have that in our thought as well in terms of he's a premier ship when in England these uh champions we go in and everyone spoke about the story where he's came from in that he can top off he he can go into a group of one in in the world ever of the Scotland captain that took Scotland to the knockouts and not a bad group to be on no they'll talk about it in the chamois league in the premier league in the world club i think it'd be up there when he speaks to me a bit Scotland he's privately publicly i think it would write up there for him to be that captain who's led us to it you'll have to win tonight john again his vice captain was asked about it what's the difference between this tournament and three years ago when we were you know if we won the last one we would have been through experience really and i don't think we approached those games with a right right mentality really it was a complete new thing preparing for a European champion ships and the magnitude of it being at home a number of reasons and quite frankly it beat by the better team that last game so this one's slightly different per start good setting game which could also have been better with three points but a massive cup final both for us and for Hungary to to try and make some history i'm sure it'll be some history for Hungary they'll be hoping for a similar outcome to us i think with the experience we've gained over the past few seasons i think as Scots are best during some adversity and hopefully we can prove a lot of people wrong tomorrow night it's eerie the tournament i remember doing it well Wembley yeah when he had the big crowd and we were excellent on the night got the draw i mean handing can be at times even my full house not the noisiest and i mean we're 12,000 i remember my remember being in the stadium thinking that the players are suffering they play for a crowd to play what they take the energy and there's an expectation on here and they've not got that extra bit help that the home advantage should give so i think that's a huge difference in terms of the way we play what that Stuttgart stadium would be like for those Scotland players remember that noise did you see that night at Wembley they thought they'll know game game true did you see Paul that night or private yeah presidential box the different days don't matter we won't go into it all but when you think about it the way we were i mean 9,000 or 10,000 at hand come on we won't go into it but it was definitely qualified you mentioned the ill of Paul the penalty shoot out with baby David Marshall so it was great it was lovely to meet you it's a fail but i when you deflect on it now and you look at what's going on in jail it was a and i don't i thought you i'm just trying to think if i'm going to use it's playing it was like a kiddy on tournament you know i mean certainly it got the final wavelength and Italy or that kind of stuff but for the first part in the game the two games that we had at hand and you know that it was the it was the proper it was great to be there but John answered the point when he was asked what's the difference experience that is a key one the experience of that learning of what happened in the last game the last time to what can happen tonight and by the way it might not still work for tonight but the the the go into that game boys have got 30 40 more caps down than what they had you know john's captain and a Premier League team that's just in the champions they scott me at 12 and he's really amazed as a major part of of of Manchester United etc etc but they almost get more experience on these belts we take all that into the equation but we're in a good place to go and do it tonight but it'll need to be um an outstanding performance to get the one john was asked about it yes this is it to say what a year for you you're in the champions league and you could also be through to the last 16 of the euros well that season's been in going i'm really proud about with the achieve with villa obviously getting in the champions league which is going to be incredible but i think getting through the group stages where we scottland would certainly eclipse that and hopefully tomorrow night we can be talking about history being achieved yeah in the context of your international career it's absolutely massive isn't it it was a difficult question to me almost asking so many people a favorite kid yeah what would you mum be saying that for dead if i will do that after the break the gory dio football show with scottish tubes and fittings pipes fittings and valves for every application including water, oil, steam and gas let's go this is the gory dio football show scottland's third game euros 20 24 we know what happened the first one five one against germany the world certainly the whole of europe was watching could we bounce back well we did scott mc tomney getting the first goal they equalized just moments later but one one when we look at it now yeah steve clatt saying we always thought four points is what we need and if we went tonight it's going to be four points and we will it's almost mathematically certain that we will be through to the last 16 and the games will probably be next weekend but we'll worry about that soon we hope steven yeah footballs very much it's dead easy and hindsight yeah when we dissect this tournament we might look back if we've qualified and say what an amazing point that was against switzerland in terms of the first game that the performance all the negativity that came had do it if we don't win tonight they'll look back and say we should have thrown the kitchen sink at it but um it sets it's set up tonight for a real cut final mark do you want all the permutations that if we went tonight but what could stand in our way if albania beat spain austia fail to beat the netherlands slavina beat england and denmark v serbia doesn't end in a draw ukraine versus belgium and slavakia versus romania both end in draws georgia beat portugal that's above my pay grade that's too difficult to take in well certainly my new way for us to go out actually you know all eight permutations there go against this but all Scotland can do is declap the players tonight poll come eight o'clock kick off let's do their job and their job tonight is to win the game and as long as they do that and if if the gods go against this and we don't make it through we we're four points and i don't think there'll be any criticism of the players it'll be an absolute freak it'll be a freak if we don't get through the last 16 on four points now we just chuck it then and we take up what our tiddley winks cricket something else yeah and that's all but we don't get through before points by i mean the boys bust if we don't get through for sure here's the manager about the team and the mentality going into this one the mental side of the game is is massive we felt that in the first game and we felt that probably the more the mental side of the game that let us down in the first game and the fact that we we didn't get around to doing what we are good at the second game we did what we're good at we got a positive result and hopefully we go to the get the mics tomorrow and and we do what we're good at and if we do what we're good at we've got a chance Stephen again before we go to the team news which we'll be in shortly how does it feel to be the former footballer now just a couple of weeks and i know it's been a crazy time and you might go back to Germany but i was reading the other day you starting a new job tomorrow yeah we're starting it's at noon tomorrow i think we're gonna take the under 18s great so you're gonna coach the under 18s yes congratulations thank you i was um i undertook the under 16s last year which happened part-time job it was very respectful of my main priority being focused but it's an amazing feeling to go back getting a lot of nice messages and it doesn't really i mean it's a place it's so familiar we are it doesn't really feel what i'm starting a new job tomorrow it's almost just like a continuation of where i've been for the last 10 15 years brilliant special club for you what's the could you believe you're some nights at seven and go and you know take the under 16 so i was delighted when i heard that's what you're going to do um do you think when pre-season comes up again part of you will be thinking you should have gone one more pre-season no no absolutely not i mean another daft question the european night i think the european night and paisley i'll be massively jealous of michael harre we'd know the team out and know how it's been the holy grail we speak out in all kit for scotland but for sittman players it was a cup final which they delivered uh the cup and uh getting the fans back to europe so i know a lot of them are hoping for a mad trip to albania so uh i might just be at home like mark it's your old club as well yeah yeah there's some really good uh european night so you go back to the days of uh of totally fixed parchik and uh and alex smith of course winning the cup um in in 87 you have some really good players and and it's lovely to see yeah sittman you know um to see steven robinson um in the squad steven's absolutely right you know i mean i think a big part of sittman's success last season was the the crowd was it was the sittman fans it really played the part uh and i mean that you know they really can ride behind them at the home game really good healthy travel and support as well but i think there won't be a seat to be had um in paisley or not on that european night and they're just brilliant for the whole time and we saw yesterday the day before kamanik have been drawn with circle brooch and their european adventure it starts there and big news as well significant planning permission has been given by estere counsell for the bowie park training center that's huge that is yeah that's a massive step in the right direction you know a real uh bit of progress for kamanik you know every club would want their own um training centre ports not always affordable and when it means now that you know that steven's been there of course of the season when when they get back into the premier league and you're training the actual tough and okay it's here it's a facility you know you've got it you can train any day the week regardless of the weather but to have your own training facility i mean might not be there at my kinnis that gets a benefit of that because it'll be the time it takes to build this mode but going forward for the next 20-30 years for young players coming through the whole lot that is a massive step and congratulations to kamanik for it yeah and it doesn't sound like a waste in any time in terms of of building it but fill credit to billie bowie for a for a long time kamanik for training in a Glasgow and i know from training at rugby park every day how important the club is in the community to the locals and it is a football club with an unbelievable manager but honestly billie bowie's an owner is a football club never takes anything to do with transverse never takes anything to do with pikna team but he just wants to put his money in and make sure that club and the community are joined together and moving in the right direction well done to fellas mclich of course on the board as well really good people good people exactly you look at their mechanics of spell abodean very very successful big part of that was his relationship with Stuart Mill. Stuart Mill trusted him he'd run the football club he's got the exact same way billie bowie managers don't want chairman to interfere they don't want every they say they want to be on the phone seven days a week you respect your chairman and your owner you give him his place hot place whatever it may be but billie bowie has the balance of being an owner absolutely perfectly footballs he's a businessman that's his area of expertise there's no paying for mations and transfers and unfortunately too many chief executives and chairman get that mixed up leaves the football club and the football side of things to the manager and that's why then at mechanics is striving that's why he's not back a couple of jobs in the past year that's what he's stable come on up and the big part of that is is a fantastic relationship and freedom that he gets from billie berry and he's been on and he said just want to take you back to the conversation 20 minutes ago about if we did go out mark if we did go out that it would be he agrees that it would be folly to turn on steve clark yeah but for me regardless of what happens tonight he stays in charge and and and puts um lead scotland into the campaign to qualify for the for the world cup finals in 2026 steve clark as the best scottish manager available he's got the support of every player in the squad everybody there saffy and the tartan army and we stick with him here's the team for tonight gun rosten henry and hanley mckenna robertson gillmer mcgregor mich tomony mcgin and adam so exactly as you said mckenna for tea on the yeah that's it just all you said yep so steven what do you make of that line up then that's the one that you thought would start tonight people talk tell their own would they change it up front of whatever so gun rosten henry and hanley mckenna robertson obviously in the left um there's mcgillmer and mcgregor mich tomony and mcgin adam's up top strong yeah there's a scene in football obviously a team picks itself and all loads of the listeners out there mate have wanted different teams wanted different players but within the camp um it was the most expected team um as i said it picks itself scott mckenna mckenna and nosy's role been in with the squad a long time steve claptras some easy decision for the manager margarita yeah and good options in the bench yep all if needed james for us i'm strong lones shankland kenny mcclean really good options um and the bench if we need to go and do something we bit different if we need to you know produce a piece of magic but it's a good team it's a solid team they know their jobs the managers trust some tap now may be right behind them let's go and do it tonight let's go and make history and and have us all at 10 o'clock tonight paul for the next seven days at least the whole country everybody in scotland absolutely buzzing if that is the case when you come on the breakfast show tomorrow morning absolutely for sure with uh great take one more hangover i think i'm sure you'll be fine i'll always be i'll be ready to go and look forward to it um scott mckenna no worries about him as though he's uh he's a top-class goal not to win forest a Copenhagen during the season yeah good your number of caps under his belt good experience he's no i kid you know he's he's got a lot of miles in in the clock and he knows his job go through it as well indeed that's right yeah and of course he could be he could be playing in scotland next season and maybe grant hanley as well could be back up here we'll find out maybe i mean after the tournament hopefully not for a little while but then there'll be more transfers rangers have been active in it in the market selting rangers need the quota yes scott's if you're leaving they will be monitoring the squad the contract situations with the national team players because both teams need to add one or two mark mentioned the subs obviously we're missing kyun tini and that's a blow and i think back to the game is you created a couple years ago and we could have qualified and we didn't but um at the back i mean you can't replace him so there's no denying that no you can't you can't replace them but i think as the game moves on are we chasing a goal there is that option to change formation there's your obvious changes james forest ryan christa lawnshankland at a tippy or tongue in terms of who you think will come come on but tommy kon way's probably that one not a little bit something different real pace real belief self belief in himself you can you can tell that he's comfortable in the stage even when he was on for the short spell um yes but i don't mind that i went i went to watch the under 21 game it pays me and i mean he was really chest out giving me the ball and watch this um so like his attitude he could be the wild card mark you know you can just think of a headline for your call tomorrow morning you're thinking of of subplots and stories and and we twist a fake poll we also told me kon way would they be there had they not been for linden bites getting an engine you just wonder steve and say is that that is that that we twist the go to come you know and we'll obviously be watching germany against switzerland so what do you reckon in that one tonight a gm no wait changes but i think i think the one i think gm no one back up lago's he'll be watching that nine that i know i just met barry with all the different screens yeah that's what i mean barry in the cinnamon plus these days you guys know you get multi-screens and you go get your ipads and all the rest two no germany two no germany and in our game then steve in two minutes to go it's floating in the last two hours head home and watch it what do you think tonight two one to scott two one scotlin yes and you're going to see again i don't want to jinx it touch with anyone else jinx it yeah yeah yeah i've got a bit optimistic poll tough tough game um but yeah two one two one to scotlin absolutely it's a time it is a 12th attempt this is a time this is a time to go and do it and i genuinely i believe in steve clatt and i believe in the group of players and uh it's going to take a monumental effort tonight poll over 90 to 100 minutes i believe they'll they'll get it done and what to hide we're going to go on as a nation for the next seven days and we're getting so listening in just now so the wee one we should be dancing to this she's it was my head all night then after we played it on friday obsessed absolute obsessed i think she's obsessed with the the euphoria are in the euros and please let it continue for about eight nine days and mark what a story this is going to be if we go through for the first time ever despite that most dreadful start seven eight days ago could turn it round history makers yeah poll you'd be in the media for for over 40 years i'm doing it for nearly 30 years it's going to be uncharted territory but used to write and speaking about hard luck stories and what ifs and what maybe i think come ten o'clock tonight we're going to be so positive so up for it and you know a seven day build up eight day build up to the last set even gary's getting excited you can see it it's going to strip on us not for it we'll write off it today on the way on the way on the way no scourland no quality seed clocks on ten a day and even if we don't wait we will win we will win we're working on and bawlin and bawlin and bawlin no scourland no quality seed clocks on ten are big guys thanks so much thanks everyone who was on
