Coffee & Geography

Coffee & Geography S01E04 Victoria Fernandes (UK & Brazil)

Kit talks to Victoria Fernandes (she/her) over a mug of coffee from Fazenda Rio Verde, chatting about painting portraits of birds, the family's old coffee farm, camels and mathematics, amongst other things!

Victoria is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Imperial College London from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil but currently residing in Cambridge, UK. She is a geologist researching how the Earth’s landscape has changed over space and time. Specifically, Victoria studies how climate and tectonics modulate river erosion over millions of years. When not working she likes painting tropical birds, and developing the 'Watson Forum' a platform for promoting women in STEM!
