Have you ever wanted to dive deeper into the philosophies behind modern-day politics? Then don't miss the newest episode of Meet the Experts, where I talk with the creators of the Giants of Political Thought audio series, available now wherever you get your Howie Car Show podcast. Imagine being so thin skin that you have to walk out of an official government proceeding because someone used your biologically correct pronoun. That's what happened earlier this week at a session of the Virginia State Senate that Lieutenant Governor Winsom Earl Sears was presiding over. Listen as the Republican Lieutenant Governor politely responds to a question asked by transgender state Senator Danica Rome. Purpose is the Senator from Prince William Rise. Madam President, I rise for a commentary inquiry. The Senator may state it. Madam President, how many votes will it take to pass this bill with the emergency clause? That would be four-fifths Senator. And what would be the exact number for that Madam President? Yes, sir. That would be thirty-two. The question is, shall the bill pass? Those in favor of that motion will record their votes high. Those opposed no. Are the Senators ready to vote? That innocuous "yes, sir" was enough to send Senator Rome marching out of the chamber in protest. The Lieutenant Governor gave a roundabout apology over the hurt feelings but failed to include the phrase, "It's not my fault you still sound like a man."
