Well, when you're one of America's best young baseball players, you get, they want you. The one I'll value with you. They want to. How many games you play in nine days? We played six games. Nine times. Went four and one. One game was a scrimmage. Had a practice. Had e-vals. Had the festival of lights. Right. Ugh. It was quite the week. It was gross. Awesome. Where was it again? Cocoa Beach? It was the Space Coast Baseball Center. And you drove the Tampa for a game? Well, we, the last two days, once the tournament was kind of over, we went to stay in Orlando for the last two days. Okay. Okay. Which is still a couple. Well, it was an hour and twenty eight minutes. Yeah. So St. Pete. Right, too. You know? Drive across the water, too. That's Jeff Gersh country right there. Not sure. I remember that time for a couple years. A couple of times. Yeah. They got that special for you, my friend. Is my billboard still up? Or is it? It is. Right on the gandy there. It is. And I'm friends with Jeff Gersh and they're like backbone medical. They're like, well, why didn't you say so? It was like, you know, the guy at the Wizard of Oz, when he opens the door, well, that's a horse on the different color. Well anyways, Alex. So out of twenty two teams from across all of America, I had six Arizona boys, four Colorado frenemies. Okay. I'm with you and one Utah boy, Luca, man, I love this kid. Really? And Luca was tearing it up. Oh my God. Luca was stealing. We got four innings. We don't have eight innings and he didn't get a chance to pitch again, actually. But we pitched, I pitched every single guy except for one guy Harrison, who's an A plus player here. We only had two catchers. So I was like, I really pitch this kid and then we're trying to win this championship. I was like, got to go with what you know. But the first day, okay, there's a scrimmage, there's evaluations, the first scrimmage. I'm throwing BP in this big ass kid, Santi, okay, Santiago Reyes, he even working so hard. I threw 20 pitches. He hit eight out, out. Gone. Yeah, they're using the bats. The big bats. Oh, I'll be there. Bats. They're not the dead bats. Ding dong city. No, they're the bats with the kids. Not the USA stamp. Dead bats, right? Yeah. No, they're nothing weird about this bat. You know. So then it was, it was a spectacle. I told all the parents, all the kids after practice, no mopey stuff and he guys think there's the best player. So I don't think we're going to have any of that problem. And so, you know, we putt putted. We beached. Did you go to the, we broke out? Did you go to the NASA? We didn't go to the NASA. You fool. That's the only reason you go to the space. No, no, we did. Well, for baseball, we were there. You fool. It was like, we did a lot of your things. We did all the things you said. Go beat. You go to Ron John. We did go to Ron John. Nice. Listen, at that age, there was no bum teams. There might have been two teams that were kind of like, shoot half the players. Right. It wasn't like that. Every player on our team, I had Parker Vanderpool star of the Vanderpool of Vanderpools. Listen, I got to give a shout out to these kids real quick. Yeah. Let's go. We had this kid Joe Ulrich, his dad was in the air force. Oh, yeah. His little brother was like the bat boy. These kids were fireballs crazy. He might have been the smallest kid in our age at the tournament. He was badass. I let him off even with we had a rotational, um, a continuous lineup. We only have an hour show though. Okay. Then JJ Williams second, I got to tell you what story about JJ Williams too. I hit Braxton Neville, who's a star here, coach doom and thinks Braxton's the best hitting 11 new player in the state. And he proved himself the touch, the fear of cotton saw his name and the game changer recap a couple of times. Sante Reyes, um, well, hit fourth for us was a total stud. So Harrison, uh, clappy is on a minors team here. Him and JJ when they saw each other is weird. It's like they knew each other once they saw each other, but because they played each other. And then, you know, he's a great player. Um, I mean, like he was probably my favorite player on the team. He just did all kinds of stuff. Then we had, uh, coach Diaz is it my assistant coach Daniel with a Z. What do you think we should bow to coach Diaz? And he was like, I think we should slow JJ and I was like, okay, enough for me. Um, no, we, and then, uh, so his son junior was a total stud and could do a little bit of everything. Had like a maturity to him. He had little brother. His name was JJ and he was there. He was big old dude. He was great for us. Um, go to, uh, Grayson, uh, Birdo, be drew, be drew, be Diro, be a U. D. R. E. A. And another you. Good girl. Good girl. Good girl. Yeah. Grayson. Good girl. And he was great. Uh, really tough little player. Great attitude. Uh, folks were really cool. Um, let me keep moving down the lineup. I mentioned Parker Vanderpool, a total badass player, uh, Cass Padilla. Nice. Cass Padilla was his cash, thank you. We went to, uh, Megal Malley's with his family was his birthday. Um, got him some baseball cards, a little thing like that. He deserved it. He was a great kid. Um, it was like, I had a maturity factor. I really liked about him. And then we hung out with this one family most of the time. Mm. Okay. The Passmores. Brode out. Dude dad Jesse is a badass, like fireman saving lives. Yes. Okay. Fireman and air force. Right. This team, I just couldn't have got luck here. Is this America? Uh, his wife was super awesome. Like one of those really cool baseball moms ran game changer for us. Nice. And not, not ages. Just giving those ease, you know, tough on the defense. Oh yeah. Couldn't be the course field score. And their son Mason had left you. It was just like the sweetest dude. Him and JJ broed out. JJ's like one of his guys who's like, at the end, he's like, you know, dad, Mason's like my best friend of all time. And, uh, shoot, I don't know if I missed one of them at all. Look, I remember, but we had a great week, a total awesome, like time, these parents were really, really good parents. We were going to get luck here. We were all in shock. We were actually that we're starting one more inning and said that it was like time ran out right at that time. I didn't play it like that. Time. Yeah. Time games. That's why I was pissed because we had a three hour rain delay. Well, we had rain. No time limits in Cal Ripken. You play six innings. We play nine. We would have no ties. Alex, we would have come back and won that game. We would have come back and won that game. So you're about to start the last inning. The fourth inning we're about to start. Wow. Yeah. The umpire has got to call it. He goes, time's expired. You know, we'll finish the inning. Well, I do. I have a fit. I mean, there's some parents ready to melt down. I was just like, well, do you guys play any defense or what? Yeah. Take so long. We're turning double. Right. Toss the second turn. We were turning them. 70. This is the best talent of 70 50. Is that we're playing 50? Mount 70 base? Yes. Doing good about that answer. Yeah. Yeah. I'll just tell you this. When you put some of the best talent in your hands with some of the best coaching, incredible things are going to happen. We were pull play monsters. And that's just what it was. There's two ways to kind of look at the whole thing. Did they give you a regular season chance? Did you get a pool play trophy for like, all right, we got a ring for the best pool. It's cool ring. How was the competition? Great. There's at that level. So we made it to the pitchings. Good. You made it to the final eight. Pool play. Everyone else's consolation. Okay. It just wasn't who was better. It was like who was just playing better that day. It was like pitch by pitch, pitch ending by any this dude who came up was all tall and looking like, you know, like, right, you know, like Todd van Popple, like a young Todd van Popple came up and pitch the kids with a big arm rookie of the year Todd van Popple JJ little inside the ballpark, Grand Slammy numbers up there with Braxton's for RBI. Get out the rye bread and mustard. Last thing. And I'm done with that promise. I'm very sorry about it. Um, JJ, after the BP, Oh, after the first scrimmage, JJ like grounded out and then struck out. He was like, I suck at hitting those like, bro, these all of these players are wicked awesome. You deserve to be here. You can, you know, you totally deserve to be here and you can do this. And at that point on JJ was just a terror. He was making plays that short, just beautiful. He was great. And I'm so proud of him. But I didn't have one week player. All star players. I told him, you're all pitch and you all play short at home. Right? Well, here my son plays short. Welcome to daddy ball. That what you said? No, I said someone's got to play. Right. And listen, I did a beautiful job of rotating. You had to that rolling order. How many kids did you have in perfect? And then did you bat them off? Of course. Of course. Of course not. No, we did. 11 rolling order. So I mean, like you hit seven, the one game you almost like accident led off the next game, which happened with cash, cash was like cash rolls up to him, right? He's like, I left my team in Maine to come show the world what I can do. And he goes, I was like, well, JJ is hot right now. You know, what do you want me to do? He's hot. And he goes, I want to show the world I can do and I go, you'll get your chance. That's it. Like, wait, he came from Maine? Well, like Julie, the cat Gaffney from Bangor, Maine, it reminds me, reminds me of Mighty Ducks too. Yeah. D2. We were exactly like the D2 ducks because JJ and Braxton, these guys were like rival frenemies. Interesting. And they had to come together. So the one kid was like, I'd want to play short and you're like, ah, shoot. My son. No, no. Cash wanted to pitch and like play first and stuff like that. I was like, dude, I got two, three eight plus for a spaceman. Cash felt through the cracks a little bit, but he can do through. He threw. He was great. He goes good for us. Might have won us one of those games with the pitch. We were eight up eight zero in one game. Let him tie it came back to win by five. Okay. Right when after that game, we're talking about, Hey, where are we going? We're going to end this game at three innings. Let's go to Buffalo wild wings and all this and that. They come back and do that to us a Texas team. Not on our team. Then we played the Louisiana boys from down the south. Hey, you beat those guys too. Hell yeah. And then when you know it, we got a Midwest bunch of I was in Minnesota. Let's go. And I who took you down, Indiana's no, the team that beat us was some Texas team and the rest. It's history. Did they win the whole thing? No, Miller did. I don't know who it is. That's it. That's it. Good job, man. Sounds like a good tournament. Got lucky with with the team and with the parents and, you know, baseball, we really did. It was super sweaty. Oh, so sweaty. But we got lucky with the one in there. We really did. Can't, you know, with a little cloud coverage, not too much delays, only the championship day when it meant everything to us. Of course, we had a three hour delay. We're just sitting down to eat at restaurant and they're saying, get your ass back to the field. That threw us off, but threw them off to through everybody off. Well, we had a chance to warm up this and that one did. Nobody did. And we got to find a way to do it. Thank you. Damn. I felt that for Coach Diaz because he really wanted it too. And he was great. He said, Coach, I shoot, got to move around. You know, where's JJ? You got to get him back over here. Got that range. And you got, you know, he was just giving us some tips. He was like, well, I think we should go with Luca to start. We saw him. Nobody looks like. I was like, I crossed off the scorecard when with Luca, Luca threw a gym for us to set the whole tone for us. He was little. I love this. I could talk about these guys all day.
