During his tenure at Bally/Midway, Paul left an indelible mark on gaming history, lending his artistic prowess to iconic titles such as Tapper, PacMan Plus, Super PacMan, Professor PacMan, TRON, Satan's Hollow, Spy Hunter, WACKO, and numerous other prototype games, contributing to the vibrant tapestry of arcade entertainment. In 1984, Paul embraced the freedom of freelance work, embarking on a dual career path as a designer and illustrator in the bustling landscape of Chicago's advertising agencies while continuing to shape the visual landscape of video games. Among his freelance endeavors, none garnered more acclaim than his involvement with the groundbreaking Mortal Kombat franchise.
