The United States of America! Wow! North America. Hello! They tried to respond to that. But number one in North America. It's a good thing. It's a good thing. I can't even call Hawaiian it. It's not calling a Swaziland in the suit to a country. That's like a joke. You know what I mean? When they became the part, when they became the part I didn't think. I didn't think. I didn't call them and make them part of South Africa. But, okay, I'm not being political, but that's... I know it's not Africa. In no country in Africa. What? Yes. Let's chill. What's up, Japanese chillers? Is your boy, your supportive friend, Coach L.J.? Yes, and I'm with my best friend, my business partner, my arsonist. The one and only lady sees us. She's in the building! Yes, you know we're about that vibe. Each and every week. You know what I'm saying? You know, you got us. So we like to jump right in. We're welcome to Sunday Fundy. We're all about learning, being informative, and having fun. I slipped up a little bit. I don't know. I don't know what your time is. All right. So this week, we're going to be talking about, since we are in the Education series, we're talking about the top 10 places to study abroad. Okay, this is not me interested. In the world, in 2024. Okay. So this comes from education.com, it's a study done by education.com. They based their rankings on these factors. High quality teaching, achieving career goals, personal development, culture and lifestyle, opportunities to network and to make new friends, learning language, I mean language learning, so new language, and adventure. So this is for colleges, right? This is for colleges and colleges. And it is a representation of 24,000 prospects of students that were surveyed in over 20 countries. Okay. For students who are looking forward to studying abroad and for actually looking for the best place to go to abroad. So disclaimer. I also don't know what the results are. This is this time around. Okay. I came across this article and I thought, hey, this will be a good one to do. So I'll be just as surprised as you are. Okay. But you would like to have LJ's predictions. Yes, my prediction is top three countries. Top three? Okay. I'll definitely will say the United States. Okay. Yeah. I'm going to say the United States because the University is pretty good. Correct. Yeah. The University so a lot and a lot of people want to study abroad in the US. So I was definitely the US. I would say United Kingdom. Okay. And I probably say Switzerland. Okay. So what do you think the US students want to go? The US students? Uh huh. China. I guess that was very random. Yeah. Probably China. Why China? I don't know. Like, you know, China is a popular business. Yeah. I think China is like a place to go. No, I know. I've read it. And another place is Germany. Probably Germany as well. Because you've been to Germany? I did. So I'm a little biased. So let's get into it. Let's see if LJ is right in any way. Let's get into it. Number 10. Number 10. It's Denmark. Denmark. Okay. I can see that. So Denmark is actually ranked number seven in Europe. Okay. And personal development ranked three in the world. Mm. High quality teaching, top 15 in the world. Okay. Then ranked as the second happiest country on the planet. I don't know that. Okay, Denmark. Okay. I wonder who's the first happiest flam in the country. I think we should do that. Yes. The happiest countries in the world. So Denmark runs number second. Okay. Denmark is also known for high quality education in a safe, progressive and friendly environment that prioritizes all community and well-being. Okay. I like that about Denmark. Yes. I like that. So Denmark number. Ten. Ten. All right. And then we go to number nine. Number nine. It's Switzerland. Switzerland. Okay. Switzerland's like popping its head, right? Yes. Yes. Six in Europe, achieving career goals ranked number five in the world, personal development ranked number six in the world. Okay. That was Switzerland. Go to Switzerland. We know it's a beautiful country. I know it's famous for chocolate. I don't know. I don't know what it's been. I don't know. Nestled in the center of Europe. Okay. And it's a small country known for its discrete banking. Yes, banking. Yes. Yes, banking. Long-standing commitment to neutrality and stunning natural beauty. Yes. I will also set a straight up there, too. Okay. In the ranking. We've done with you, done with your... I know. I know. Switzerland is also a cultural crossroads with influences from Italy, France, and Germany, because I think it's like in the center of these countries. Switzerland recognizes four official languages. So I guess it's a good place to go to if you want to learn different languages, which is German, French, Italian, and the Roman language. I don't know. Roman, Romanche, or whatever. A minority language originating from... All right. So that's why they go for Switzerland. Mm-hmm. Number... Eight. The Netherlands. The Netherlands. Look, I did all these. I'm not surprised. I'm not surprised. Yeah, I'm not surprised. It's a red number five in Europe. Okay. I've developed and ranked four in the world, and achieving career goals or ranked two in the world. Two. Wow. It's no surprise to see Netherlands in the top 10, they say. The small country is a powerhouse of international education for the world-class universities. Yes. Numerous programs taught in English, so, of course, most people who are English-speaking, they can go there. Okay. And affordable, higher education. And the busy cities of Utrecht, I can't say the names properly, and rotted them to the more peaceful student towns of Groningen and Linden. So I guess you can, if you want to go to, like, a city life, or a more rural-level country life. The Netherlands is quite diverse, environmentally conscious, and very accepting of others. Okay. I like that, too. That's nice. That's cool. And we go on to... Seven. Seven. Seven. Seven. It's Spain. Spain. Okay. I can see that as well. Not a shot. Yeah. Not a shot to me. Why? Why is it not a shot? Because these are the good countries to visit. They were mean. I've been to Spain. Okay. I've never been to Spain. Ranked number four in Europe, culture and lifestyle ranked number three in the world. Okay. Opportunities to network or make new friends ranked number one in the world. Okay. Well, what's ranked number one? Opportunities to network. Ooh. Number one. Or make new friends. Wow. And this is Spain. Yeah. Rising two places this year, I guess it was a bit lower down. I can't know as it's vibrant, known for its vibrant and welcoming culture. Okay. Spain has a long and storied history of conquest, diversity, and heritage, reflected in its art, cuisine, music, languages, literature, and tradition. Mm. And even a quick glance at the menu of a tapas bar, you give you a glimpse of the electric experiences Spain has to offer. Yeah. Six. And it's Canada. Canada. Okay. I guess it is. I mean, Canada is like so surprising in popping its head. Yeah. Yeah. I guess you can. Okay. Achieving career goals ranked number three in the world. Mm. Language learning ranked four in the world. Why? Because they speak English. They speak English and French though. Mm-hmm. French is actually a very huge language in Canada. Yes. Opportunities to network or make new friends three in the world. Three. Okay. Canada is actually very diverse now. And very diverse. There's nearly, they're saying there's nearly 900,000 international students who choose to go to Canada as their study destination. Mm. This is the last in 2023. So I mean, we studied 2024, we don't really have the right numbers, but of course if it's almost a million students who chose to go and study there, then it's definitely had to be up there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So this North American country's diverse, welcoming and offers a flexible, high quality, higher education that is recognized throughout the world. I like that. For medical and STEM students. So you can study in Canada. Yeah. And can work anywhere in the world. Yeah. So superb. Canada offers extensive research opportunities and international students in all fields will find generous funding options. I think that's important as well. What? Funding options. Okay. And, yeah, and work schemes because in most in most countries, if you're an international student, you can't get funding, like, especially like in the United States, you're stuck. You're stuck. You can't get enough funding. You can't be able to afford to study, but you won't. So I like that offer that Canada offers. Right. Now we are in the top. Five. Four. Number five is France. France. France. Okay. Right. Number three in Europe. Mm. Adventure ranked one in the world. I see. I see it as an adventure as well. Okay. Number one in the world for adventure. Okay. Anybody wants to go to the city of love? Yeah. Everyone want to go to the city of love. Are you right? Yeah. Culture and lifestyle ranked two in the world. Are you not surprised that America is not up there for adventure? Number one in the world, France takes a cup? Uh, you know what, France is a popular place. You know. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. But the United States is also popular. I think the people, they're very not friendly. I mean, I remember when I went there, it wasn't the best experience, you know. They're not friendly. But depending on where you go on in the US, they're not friendly needle. That's true. That's true, because you can go to New York, uh, in the subway, nobody wants to say, "Pay attention to me." No. You're not figuring it so far out. Yes, yes. So let's go back to France. So for many people, the glamour and charm of Paris sums up appeal of France. And while Paris is certainly the crowns crown, the country's crown jewel, studying in France is so much more than just a stroll down the CN, which is like the main, um, with more than 3,500 public and private higher education institutions from universities and grandeors, whatever that is, to specialise schools so you can go if you want to specialise, um, from art to medicine. So I think that's why they like France, because they have a lot of speciality schools that you can go to. Instead of going to a school that's like generic, you can actually say, "I want to go to an art school, I want to go to a medical school, I want to strictly that." Yes. Science or technology, whatever. Right, right. That's cool. So, and then of course, you might even just find love. You might find love. You never know. It's a country of love. You never know. You might. Number four. Number four. Australia. Australia. Okay. I think you popped Australia somewhere there in-- Yeah, I did. Yeah. Yeah. So Australia is actually ranked number one in Oceana, or whatever that means. Opportunities to network or make new friends is number five in the world. Culture and lifestyle ranked number seven in the world. Okay. Australia is a consistent favourite of international students and the world over with a wide range of higher education offerings. So highly ranked universities and a system that is known for welcoming international student. There's no one that Australia has been in the top ten since the beginning. Okay, Australia. Yeah. It's since the beginning. I guess since they've started doing these surveys. Yeah. Australia is known for its laid back attitude, amazing culture, climate, sorry, and incredible natural beauty. Most of its big cities, and therefore its universities are located in coastal regions, so who doesn't want the beach? You can never be far from the beach because it's mostly in coastal cities. I love that. Yes. All right. Now we in the culture and lifestyle ranked number seven in the world. Okay. Australia is a consistent favourite of international students and the world over with a wide range of higher education offerings. So high. Three! Three! Three! United Kingdom. United Kingdom. Okay. Okay. Yeah. I knew it. Ranked number two in Europe, high quality teaching ranked number one in the world. High quality teaching, really? Yeah. Okay. I can see that. Yeah. Remember, they were in the top ten for the best education system in many ways, you know, so I wasn't surprised when I saw that. Culture and lifestyle ranked number six in the world. So UK is never far from the top of our list, and for some good reason, as home to some of the most renowned and prestigious universities in the world. Yes. The United Kingdom is a go to choice for international students. I attest to that. Living and studying in the UK gives international students the opportunity to learn and explore in a country steeped in culture and history. Absolutely true. The UK may occupy a small area because it is a tiny country, but it is small. Right. There are some of the other countries on this list, but it impacts a lot into that space. The four countries that make up the United Kingdom, both pre-historic monuments as well. So I guess that's our top two number two number two, the United States of America. Wow. I thought they would be the moonlight. Really? Are you just sitting there patiently thinking, number one is America, number one? Sorry to play above all, in the United States is number two ranked number one, though, in North America. Yeah, number one. So it ranks above Canada, because there's only two North America, hello, you got it? They're trying to respond to that, but number one in North America. It's a good one. It's a good one. It's a good one. That's it. That's it. That's it. It's a ranked number one in North America. It used to be more than one, but when Hawaii in the last year- You can't even call Hawaii in the last year. It's not calling Swaziland in the suit to a country. That's like a joke, you know what I mean? When they became the part- Because we can involve them and make them part of South Africa, but okay, I'm not being political, but that's okay. So, quality of teaching ranked number six in the world, adventure ranked six in the world. I'm surprised with adventure, because Americans think it's all bad and a bag of chips. We all are there in the bag of chips. We all are there. Okay. So, long, a popular destination for international students, some of the world's highest ranked universities, numerous research opportunities, and a higher education culture that is, that is the stuff of Hollywood dreams. So, they have ideal college campuses, are watching autumnal colors and drawing crowds, sharing their school teams at brightly linked football games and big city campuses where co-eds can explore the great American metropolitan. Yes. Yeah, because we, with the teams, that's like the big thing, you know. Sports is big. People want to experience that. Sports as well. Yeah. Sports thing, because everyone's, yeah, when you, if you fit right in, you want to experience that. And I think most people come to the U.S. when I'm forgetting that scholarships throw sports as well. Yes. Yes. It's a big destination through that. All right. You want to know what number one is? Uh, no, it's not Africa, in no country in Africa. What? Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. My beloved continent. Yes. It's not. Not what. Because it is discriminating. That's why. That's the only reason. No, no. It's discriminating. They're not a place that people want to go to for college. One, they're not recognized throughout the world. They're probably not recognized. It's not accredited. Can you show me facts for that? I don't, I'm just saying. I'm, I'm my opinion. Africa is recognized. It's only the United States that's, that's, that's a selective of certain degrees. Yeah. Certain degrees. But it's recognized. But your degree is recognized in the U.S. Yes, it is. Exactly. And it's from where? South Africa. Thank you very much. Let's continue. Number one. No. It needs a drum roll. No. It's Germany. Germany. Oh. Okay. I was right though. I say Germany. I did say Germany. I did say Germany. I was, I was correct. But I'm like, cuz I'm like, hold on, Germany, I haven't happened yet. So I'm like. So when it was kind of I said, okay, United Kingdom, Canada, when you want to say that patient. Yeah. I'm like, Germany. Go. Yeah. And we're in Germany. I'm like, we're in Germany. And where's the United States? Germany? Okay. I'm like, okay. I guess United States is number one. And then when you said number two, I said, no, Germany is not number one. Am I mine? I'm like, Germany number one. Okay. That's a Germany. Germany is number one. But that did not just say, but I did say Germany have a good business structure. Yeah. So that could be do like the business structure in Germany. So high quality teaching ranked number three in the world, achieving career goals ranked number two in Europe, adventure ranked number six in Europe. Germany characterized this year to take the top place in our rankings and no wonder between its incredible reputation as a higher education powerhouse and the low cost of tuition and living. Okay. I think that's the big draw. Low cost of tuition and living. Living. Germany stands out among the countries of the world as a destination for international students. Couple that with countries high standards of living, cultural opportunities and safe and efficient infrastructure. You have the ideal study location. So use your time in Germany to take in the cultural heritage and diverse natural beauty of the countryside. Enjoy the festive and historic Christmas market in a bridge range. I don't know how to say it, indulge in some German beer and explore fairy tale castles and medieval abbeys in the black forest. So we say just to Germany, yes, just to Germany. Yes. Let me take the cup and saw lots of which one, which country. You were surprised. Yes. Yes. And which country you wanted to see in the top 10 and which country you think is that it belongs in the top 10. Now, not Africa. I certainly believe Africa belongs in the top 10. Yeah. At least one country in Africa. No. Of course. There wasn't a top 10 education system. There wasn't a top 10 with the passport. There wasn't a top 10. So of course. Because Africa has been orchestrised like that. I think that we should look at the history of the world and see why Africa has been excluded. Yes. Africa is not bad at all. It's not. This is not about Africa. This is about the world. Yes. And I want to say to you, let us know which country you'd love to go and study out of the 10 that you've heard and why.
