Located at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, CA!

Hi everyone! If the old expression "if these walls could talk" could apply to just one place, it would definitely have to be Walt Disney's Office. Walt's Office is located at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California and was the site for so many things, from meetings with dignitaries and creatives to personal performances by the Sherman brothers on an in-office piano. Sweet 3H was the office number, but it was better known as Walt's headquarters. So, just what could you find in his office? Of course, you'll see some of the many awards that he received during his life and photos of his family, but there are also some items you might be surprised to find. For instance, you might have not expected to find a ship's bell. It's a bell that was presented to Walt by the U.S. Coast Guard that one day his secretary rang to remind him about lunch. Walt then requested that every day at 12.30, she would ring the bell to remind him it was time for lunch. Speaking of lunch, every complete office sweet should have a small kitchenette, right? Well, Walt's office kitchen was complete with customized glasses engraved with W.E.D, Walt's initials, and pantry favorites of his, like V8, Spam, and canned Hormel sausages. While some items had a certain day-to-day practicality, others just gave you a glimpse into Walt's interests, like Walt's collection of miniatures. He enjoyed both collecting and building miniature figures and dioramas, and he had a sizable display in his office, including one he made himself of Bambi. He also had an antique peccino scope, a 19th-century animation device that would spin reflecting a strip of pictures off a mirror, creating motion from the series of pictures. Following Walt's passing in 1966, other Disney executives occupied the space, including Ron Miller and Roy E. Disney. But in 2015, it was restored by the Walt Disney archives to the original layout and design Walt had when it was his office. From the scripts he was reading being stacked up in piles, to the books on his shelf being organized exactly the way he had him, the legacy of his office is restored at Walt Disney Studios. [Music]
