(upbeat music) Shay just gave me an unbelievable scenario. So these, and what I'll have been saying, they would trade Tyone, and I think you're okay with it if you got something juicy back. And I've said, if I'm trying to content next year, no, unless you just blew me away with an insane offer. Shay just said, give me Mark Leiter Jr. and Tyone, and I'll give you Samuel Bassalo. He's the 12th ranked prospect in the game. Middle of the lineup, slugging potential at a premium position, 6-4, he'll turn 20, 20. August 13th. Okay, if the Orioles call and are willing to do that, I'll side with Sylvia Waddle and you guys. I'll go for it. You're giving me that? I can't believe you can get that. You give me Samuel Bassalo and he's as good as they say he is. He's my starting catcher at age 20. I'm in. Okay. - They don't have a place for him. Baltimore has no place for him. They got Adley Ruchman, he's an all-star behind the plate. - Okay, Sylvia, you win. If you get me Samuel Bassalo and throw in some reliever, I'm in. - You're listening to the Captain J. Hood Morning Show on ESPN 1000, and we're streaming on the ESPN Chicago app. - Get it done, Hoodie. - With David Kaplan, Jonathan Hood with you, we've got Shay, we've got Jay Moore, and we've got you here on this Friday morning. Here's hoping that you have a great weekend. With open phone lines for you at 312-332-ESPN, 332-3776 is our telephone number. We're also on YouTube, youtube.com. Look for the ESPN Chicago channel and hit that subscribe button. - Get that trade done. - We're also on Twitch, twitch.tv/ESP & Without Chicago. - As promised, Jalen Johnson was on on sportsman like this morning with Evan Cohen and Michelle Smallman and Chris Canty. - Smallman's name is banned from the show for 30 days. - I won't say her name again then. Jalen Johnson, on the difference between the organization now and when he first got to the Chicago Bears. Listen. - I think hunger is the number one word I can say. I feel like especially for me and myself, I haven't had to win a season since I got here, so I mean, I'm definitely hungry to do that, always been hungry to do that, where I fight now more than ever. We have not just a roster that is talented top to bottom, not just new staff, but I think it's about us yelling together and we're a young group. And I feel like it's easy to get young guys to jail together, young guys to struggle together and then to want to really succeed. I hate to say it, but I feel like it's kind of like the line mentality when you come in, or not the line mentality. What the lines did in Dan Campbell's mentality of just coming in and establishing that culture. And of course, I'm gonna come in and win game right away, but you keep establishing a culture, establishing new ways of looking at things. I mean, they were losing for a long time and they turned it around. I feel like for us, we've been losing for some years now and I feel like we gotta come in here and turn it around mentally. I feel like it starts with your mentality and starts with your foundation. That you said, and I feel like we have a really good foundation set, a lot of young guys coming in, buying in, a lot of leaders stepping up, wanting to win, and I feel like we're just hungry too, and win hungry to give the city of Chicago success. And I feel like we have all the right pieces to do it. - Channel Johnson's been on a lot this summer, a lot of different platforms. And so we looked for leadership for the Chicago Bears, for sure, through his words, sounds like leadership to me. - Yeah, he has been very out there and very willing to share his opinions, good and bad. The other day, hey man, I miss Judge Caleb, get to know this kid, he's really something special. And you know, remember, he said, don't bring the Hollywood here. He said, there's no Hollywood to this guy. So funny, all the people out there were backtracking now, posting articles, I was wrong. - Yeah, no blank. - There's an article out there, this morning regarding that, right? - I saw one. - Some thoughts also from Jalen Johnson talking about former Bears quarterback Justin Fields. - I mean, I understood it when it happened. Honestly, it's not, I mean, I'm not oblivious to the business side thing, I'm not oblivious to the hype and kind of just everything that was lined up for us. At the end of the day, I feel like it was in the best interest of the organization to give us the best chance to win in the future. So I mean, I feel like at the end of the day, no matter what, emotions or feelings are involved in that day, it's a business and I understand that. So I mean, I understood that back in April when it happened, but I know I'm definitely not in a situation where it's like feeling like it didn't work out or it's not going to work out. I'm definitely very confident. Of course, in Caleb, he has a very high ceiling. I mean, there's nothing that he can't do. I think it's just really him just getting comfortable. I feel like he really wants to get as comfortable as it's going to be a dangerous sight to see. - So I was thought there from Jalen Johnson regarding Caleb Williams. There's an endorsement there by Jalen Johnson. - 100%. And he was always a big justed guy. This is, again, was not anti-justing. It was pro-Kaleb. - That's it. You upgraded. As Potsy said to us yesterday morning, the Bears upgraded a quarterback. Period. That's a fact. By the way, the latest on Justin Fields, 'cause I know Fields fans are going to follow him all the way to Pittsburgh. He's with the ones right now. - Right. Russ got banged up in practice. - Controversy in Pittsburgh already. Right now in La Trobe, there's controversy. Already. I mean, it's just a little bit of a setback for Russ. It doesn't mean that he's lost his job, but even if Stevens fans are like, we don't want to see what Fields can do. And guess what? I want to see what Fields can do at Pittsburgh too. Getting the line shared the steps, if possible. - We'll see. - We'd like to see that. - Or is there a moment where Tomlin, if Fields doesn't play while where Tomlin goes? - I had enough with these Chicago quarterbacks. Trubisky Fields. No more. - Pretty funny. - What's the realistic goal for the Bears? Yellen Johnson on Sportsman like? - That's why I really just, for one to win the division, I thought that's a very realistic goal for us. I thought we, for one, we got to beat Green Bay. We haven't done that. So that's the expectation for me this year, to definitely beat Green Bay, but to really win the division, we know we can play with the line, we can play with the bike, we can play with the bike, we can play with anybody, I think. For us, like I said, it's more so just about finishing. I feel like it's a realistic expectation for us to win the division, to get to the playoffs. - There you have it. So, Jalen Johnson, some strong comments there. Sounds like he's primed and ready for the season. - Correct. - Best draft pick of Ryan Pace's career, right there. - That, that secondary could be an Iron Gate. - Oh, man. - I mean, yeah. - Tyler Gordon, Jaquan Brisker, Tyreak, Stevenson, Kevin, Bayard. - Oh, let's go. - Jonathan Owens, when he returns. - He is in Paris, and it's a really good article in the Sun Times today, where he's there supporting his wife, and he said the Bears were so cool. Hey man, your wife's in the Olympics. She's Simone Biles. Would you like to be there? - Yeah. - We have training kit. You're gonna make the football team. You're a veteran, we signed you. You need to go support your wife. We're about culture and family here. I thought that was an awesome statement from Ryan Pouls and Mattie Verflus. - We went to him just ask, like, we really appreciate it if, you know, he can go and support his wife. So they are really cool about him as first-class organization. Like, I just want to thank them so much for even allowing me to go over and do that, you know? So I can't wait to, you know, be able to support her and I know my family and my wife, she really appreciates it. So. - Who does it like to watch her do things that no one else in the world can do? - It's amazing. My words can't even describe it. I just think about how did I get so lucky, you know, that this is my wife and I get to see her, you know, just someone that's literally at the pinnacle of their sport and, you know, I get to call this my wife, you know? So it's amazing. Like I said, it's no words to really describe. Just, just bless. - You see? - It's so good. That's so Jonathan Owens on his way to the Olympics. - But let me tell you something. He may not be the best player on the team. He'll have a role on the team. But you know what that says around the league? The debt Chicago franchise, they're about family. They, it's not just talk, family. Because there are a lot of teams who are being, oh, what? He's going to miss practice for like a week. No. I think it's an awesome thing they did. - Jim Bowden is a long time general manager and major league baseball. He's a host now on MLB Network Radio. He had some strong thoughts about the future of the White Sox because Gary Crochet and his future is hanging in the balance right now. He's supposed to start Sunday against Seattle. We'll see if he's traded or if he still is with the team. We'll get to that in just a moment. But first, Nathan is on the road on cap and J-hood. Nathan, good morning. - Nathan, what's up, Sparky? - How you doing? Thanks for having me. - Thanks for calling, man. - Okay, man. Born and raised later fan here. I would like to talk about the Kermit Mahomes puppet deal that we had earlier. - Yep. - It was a fan from what I heard that had the puppet and then, of course, the team got a whole of it and started making fun of him. You cannot expect us not to make fun of this guy. When I met the social field, the time that you guys beat the crap out of us last year and thank you for that 'cause now we have AP for that, I heard one chance going through the tunnel. Packers suck. You were playing the Raiders. It was not a pack of fan in sight. - That is the deal. That's what they do at Soldier Field every time through that tunnel. - That's what they do, baby. - Yep. - I love it and I love it. So do not ask a Raider fan to tone it down on patching Mahomes when the Bears would never tone it down on the Packers. We have to remind all the Chicago fans that the Packers have been coming to Chicago for the last two decades and no Bears fans care. It's damn the Packers for life. That's how we are against the Chiefs. I don't care if they win 10 in a row, they will always be the coach and he will be coming to Mahomes. Do I respect them? Yes, if he the greatest, yes. Are they the greatest team? Absolutely. But you cannot go into Team Stadium. You can't play the Chiefs and be a scared of them. And I was there on Christmas Day. And for all the idiots that thought that they took it easy on us, wounded Aaron Rodgers ever took it easy on the Bears. He loved beating the Bears. And if there's one team that patched up Mahomes, love's killing, it's us. Thank you for your time guys. Oh, congratulations on the kid. I want to kill it if he painted his toenails. As long as he wins, that's all that matters. Thank you guys. You're the man, Nathan. Love it. Love his passion. Our Bears players never had a Packer puppet to make fun of the other team though. That's just us. Anyway, we move on to J-Bode. He makes some valid points there. We don't have Packer puppets. That's all. It was a fan. That's fine. No, I'm just saying. It's weird. That's all I'm saying. But he is right. You walked through that tunnel. It sold your field. They could have just beaten the Seahawks. Packer sock. That's what it is, man. That's what it is. I love it. Jim Bowden on the recap podcast with David Kaplan, talking about a number of things regarding the White Sox future. Sox fans, listen to this. Jim Bowden, again, longtime general manager major league baseball, talks about whether or not the White Sox are trade. Luis Robert. They all go. Here's the reason why. The timeline in the olden days to rebuild was five to seven years. That's what it took when you got to pick at the top of the draft. Now it's seven to eight years. You've lost two years onto that. By the time you're ready to win, Robert's going to be 33. Crochet's going to be 34. They're going to be gone anyway. So trade a player when they're the youngest, in their prime, without a lot of risk, and get as much back as you can. But you got to do it. You can't trade to trade. You got to trade and come away with it with seven or eight players that's going to rebuild your future. You've got to take advantage of this market. Can't remember another time, by the way, in which a team started in spring training, broke camp and it's like, who's going to be our starters? Who's going to be our opening day started and who's our back of the rotation guy? I've never seen that before, as if the Sox were not ready for the season. That's when you're bereft of talent. So Jim talked about how the Sox didn't pay attention to starting pitching at the start of the season. Well, I can tell you, because they did not this off season, pay any attention to starting pitching. And they walked into spring training with one guy that had thrown 100 innings or more. And I looked at it and I said, that's 110, 120 losses. You got no chance. You know, I remember when I was growing up in the game, and the Dodgers, if you remember, that year they went and got Eric Davis, a team with Darryl Strawberry, and it was a total disaster, right? They didn't win. Fred Clare was the GM at the time. And Fred Clare came to me, and I was a young GM and he said to me, he said, you know, the one thing I learned that year, the most important thing I learned, is you better have four guys that can go 180 to 200 innings. You better make sure you have innings of guys that can keep you in games. Otherwise, your bullpen's going to blow out. You won't be competitive. Your hitters will get tired 'cause they'll always be hitting from behind, and it just doesn't work. And historically, normally, when you look at teams with the best starting pitching, they're the teams in the playoffs. Go back and look over the last 10 years. That's the way it is. The White Sox started the year with Eric Fettian nothing. Like, what were they? How are you going to win? You know, even crochet right now is that more innings he's ever pitched in his life, and quite frankly, should be shut down after three or four more starts. - Honestly, what are you going to risk in being hurt next year? - Jim Bowden. - Unbelievable. Then we have a cut where he talks about crochet, and what he would do if he acquired him. - It is on what the Sox should do before the deadline. - Yeah. - Yeah, so some thoughts there from Bowden in that regard. - So I wrote an article on this at the Athletic yesterday, saying that they needed to trade Garrett crochet. And it's painful to say that because one of the things that you want as a GM is to build a team around an ace, a 27 year old lefty that can win a Cy Young Award. But here's the problem with the new CBA. You can't tank and get the first pick. You can't go get Chris Bryant like the Cubs did, or Bryce Harper and Steven Strasburg, like the Nationals did, or Carlos Correa, like Houston did, or Adley Rochman, like Baltimore did. You can't do that. In fact, the White Sox are going to finish with an historic bad record. - They're going to pick 10. - They're going to pick 10. You're not going to get the superstar there. So the only way you're going to get that is a trade crochet. And if you trade crochet, it's not the four or five guys you're getting back. It's that top star that you're going to get back that's playing in A ball or double A, that's got a chance to be that number one overall pick. And you're not going to trade them unless Baltimore says, "I'll give you Samuel Bassio," or "I'll give you Jackson Holiday." That's where crochet's got to go. You can't trade crochet to trade crochet, but if you get that number one pick that you can build around, plus other pieces. For example, if the Orioles were to offer the White Sox, Heston Kirstat, who you could put in right field, Kobe Mayo could play third, and Bassio could catch. There's three everyday players. You've just rebuilt your team in one trade. That's what you've got to try to do here because you're picking 10. So that's why they have to trade them. I think Chris Katz is going about the right way. He's telling my GM friends, "I'll trade everybody on the Major League roster." Make proposals to me, bring them to me. I'm going to look at them. I don't have to trade anybody, but I'm building for the future. And the best way to do it is to trade players, trade my assets. So there I am. - Thoughts there from Jim Bowden. - He's so good. He's so tapped in. He said, "Are there a couple guys that don't want to give you any info?" Sure, but there's also a bunch that he's either worked with four or friends with that give him great, great intel. And he's right. - Shay, this is to me, as we get ready to talk to Courtney Crone on the Bears, for me, it is a rebuild, but also a ceiling on their success. I would love to tell you that, okay, yeah, absolutely. Trade, Robert and trade, crochet and just, and get rid of Andrew Vaughn, all these guys, right? Montgomery off the books. Eloy, get them out of there, all that's fine. But again, when you have an organization that's not willing to spend, it is going to be great to see young players develop, but once they get to a certain threshold, they're going to be out of here. It's the old tournament Burnham situation like you have with the A's. - But if one of them is not good enough. - But if one of those guys, let's call him Samuel Basayo, the catcher, what if he becomes his 20 and a 26, he's going to hit free agency and you're like, "Oh my God, he's the best catcher in baseball." You have to pay him. - That'll be under a different ownership. It won't be this one, as you well know. And it's not opinion, that's fact, it's fact. And that's the problem, Cap. And we're talking about a world in which is different, ownership of the white side. - But what if it's the same ownership and at 23, he's an all star? You got to pay him there. That's what the, the Royals did with Bobby Whit Jr. Bobby Whit's not a free agent. Did they not give him 285 million for 10 years? - Yeah, what is that commitment on the south side for anybody, ever, ever? - Correct, but have they had someone at that level? They signed Robert, they signed Jimenez, they just bet on the wrong guy. You have got to lock up, if that kid's a star and he's on the socks or the Cubs, you better get him locked up. - Yep, he'll be locked up. - What the Brewers do? They signed Jackson Cheerio before he played one game. - They'll be locked up with the Phillies. - Courtney Cronin with the latest on The Bears on The Cap and Jay Hood Morning Show. - Follow Chicago's Home for Sports on Twitter at ESPN1000. What's it like to preside over one of the great TV shows of all time on ESPN? You're right there, you're around the horn and you had the mute button. You were in the control, what was that like? - I didn't use it enough, you know? I sometimes you just forget how impactful the scoring is to the show and I didn't want to mess it up. Like at one point I think I forgot to score Clinton the 8th. So I was like, I can't be focused on the mute button and trying to like give points at the same time and hit all the buttons, but I enjoyed it. It was such a cool experience. I'm doing it again next month. So it was a great two day affair in New York. You know, filling in for talent should be huge shoes to fill that will never actually be filled, but it was neat to get an experience like that. - Yeah, I thought you were awesome to be honest. And I thought like the way you were just carrying yourself and the social media postings, I was so proud to call you my friend. - Thanks, Cap, I appreciate that. It was great. I mean, it's such a iconic show that, you know, to get to fill in there is Frank Isola has been, you know, filling Frank for us for such a long time and to get to step into his shoes to a degree. It was a neat thing and put my own spin on everything. We're gonna be weird going back to a panelist now after doing this. - Yes, it will, 100%. - So we got four preseason games and Cap and I were talking about the quarterback position the starter, I can't look Williams. So how often do you think we'll see him in the preseason? - We heard what Fluke said last week, the 45 to 55 snaps in games, which is within that range that the quarterbacks played last year, the rookies. I, for the Hall of Fame game, I wouldn't be surprised if we see him at all. I think it'll probably be like one theory. And, you know, the reason I say that, I've had people ask for which game we're gonna see him in the most. We're going back to the old preseason schedule here just for the Bears and the Texans because they've got four games. And the third preseason game in the old days was the most important one. That's where you'd see starters, oftentimes for at least a full quarter, sometimes even upwards of a full half. I would imagine that will probably be where Caleb Williams, you know, coming off the joint practice with the Cincinnati Bengals two days before. I don't know if that, if he'll play a whole half, but I would imagine that's probably where he'll get his most actions depending on how that joint practice goes. But next Thursday, I, you know, I feel like they'll probably try to slow play him into this, start other starters, you know, or that's completely up in the air. But Fluke said it's something they've been talking about, they're going to try to iron out a plan here in a couple of days and it probably would be smart. Just let him get his feet wet because there really is nothing to accomplish other than, hey, this is what live action sort of looks like and sort of feels like. Because of course, nobody's going to be going 110% in the Hall of Fame game when preseason football hasn't even started outside of that. So I'd imagine it probably won't be that much, but we might see him for like a series maybe two. Let's talk about the locker room. 'Cause I talked to multiple people, two on the team currently and one in Tom Thayer who made an interesting point to me. Who is the alpha on this team? Like when Olin played, it was Olin Cruces locker room and you don't mess around in there, you're going to get the wrath of Olin. He had everybody's back and he held everyone accountable. Who is that on this team? - I think on defense, it's probably Jalen Johnson or Montez Sweat, the obvious ones like your two year best players, but two guys who have differing styles of leadership. I thought Jalen made a pretty articulate point the other day when he talked about wanting to lead in front of the team instead of just pulling guys to the side and having one on one conversation, which of course he's still going to do, but he realizes his position on this team now, five years into his career where he can be comfortable standing up in front of that defense because he is one of the leaders of that defense and when you hear sweat out there, I mean, he's not a man of a lot of words, but when you hear him, when he speaks, he's pretty loud. So to imagine those two and frankly, on offense, everybody has said that Caleb Williams and the transitions who going from learning as a rookie and what he said early on that I want to be listening instead of talking more frequently in the early stage of my bear's career. I think that switched honestly to the point where he felt comfortable leading pretty early on. Now, are people going to look at this and say it's his team? I think it's going to take wins to get there in command of the offense and the offense being responsible for winning games to get to that point. But the other player I think of, it's not somebody who is the most for both of leaders, but it's DJ Moore, everybody follows that guy and you can see it in practice. You can see it in games and sideline interactions of just how well respected he is. And he's not somebody who has to be the raw guy or talk your ear off to get you to buy in to who he is as a leader. And I've felt that for a long time with DJ, just seeing how quickly he was able to assume that role last year in a room where he very easily was the most talented player from the jump. But now that you've got more talent in that room, it still feels like this is DJ Moore's, it's his offense to a degree. And a lot of things are going to run through him. And I think from a leadership perspective, that attribute, I would attribute that there as well. - You know, when we talk about Nick and Gakwe, it becomes kind of the Cody Bellinger conversation from the off-season, all the beer, the Cubs need to have Bellinger, need Bellinger, need Bellinger. Okay, so in your kind of in the same spot, you were last year if you're the Cubs. When it comes to in Gakwe, I was just wondering, is there one name in particular that stands out from who you've talked to regarding, who can make a difference? If in Gakwe is not there, then who fills the bill as someone on the other side of sweat that can get to the quarterback? - You mean someone on this team, currently? - Yes, yes, exactly. - Well, I mean, the Marcus Walker has been holding down that position throughout camp, and we've seen him this week kick inside on third downs, which is, you know, he has that inside outside positional flexibility. That was one of the things that made him so appealing from his time in Denver to Tennessee, where he did it more to why they signed him. But I think they could go with a rotation of guys. I don't know if they don't end up signing for like unique in Gakwe, or if there's still another veteran pass rusher out there that they choose not to bring in. I think they could go with a rotation there. We've seen Austin Booker get a couple of first team reps, and I know he's a rookie, he's a fifth round pick. He has the length though. Probably still has things physically that he has to grow into in terms of playing at this level. But he's, you know, the prototypes and the body types for all of these guys are the same. And we know that they draft on traits. They find guys based on traits on physical, you know, physical things that they want kind of matching. And that also, you know, comes down to skill set too. Like this is somebody who has an Austin Booker I'm talking about. He has the flexibility to be, you know, an outside linebacker. He can be, you know, a true four-three DN who would have handed them the dirt. Like he can do a lot. So it wouldn't be surprised if this is something between him and the Marcus Walker. You could throw Jake Martin in there too. Like we've seen him have a good camp granted. They haven't been in pads until today. So this is kind of where we'll start to see guys separate themselves. But they at least have the numbers right now if they don't end up signing somebody with, you know, with I guess a higher pass rush pedigree, which we know, that's what unique in Gotaway is. It may not be great at stopping the run, but you're getting somebody who, you know, on pass rushing downs, that's, you know, he's got one of the, you know, the cross-shot move that he has at everybody in the league tries to emulate. The reason, there's a reason he'd built himself into, you know, carrying a persona like that as a pass rusher. But I wouldn't, if they don't make a move, I think they're gonna try to roll with what they have based on, you know, certain packages and having guys flush out rolls that way. Norley. - All right, Carmel Lohancini, this week, talked about what might have been for the Chicago Bulls on the West Side. - So they were supposed to go, it was supposed to be bossing Wade and then me and Bra, like going somewhere. We just couldn't find out where. And it was, we wanted it to be New York. You know what I'm saying, somewhere. Old Chicago, Chicago was in the pool. - Where's your mic? - Man, Bra, but I was like, if we gonna find a place to let it be, build a Chicago, like. - What do you think of that? - It makes me sick, because the narrative was, "The Bulls can't get a top free agent." What I was told by someone who would know, he's deceased now, the late Henry Thomas, who was a Chicago based agent, had all three guys at one point. He said, "The Bulls were told, "You clear a third max salary slot. "You've got Bosch, Wade, and LeBron. "Carmelo's gonna stay back in New York." That's when I nicknamed him Frod Melo Anthony, 'cause he's about the money, not the championships. And he said, "Done, LeBron, Wade, Bosch. "Done, in Chicago, not Miami. "And Pax moved heaven and earth to try and move." I think it was Lewall Dang's contract back then, and no one would take all the money so he could open up a third slot. - Can you imagine if that had happened here? - Yep, I can't imagine. - Derek Rose with those guys? - Oh, doctor! - But that is the reason, because the third slot, right? That's the only reason. The only reason why it didn't happen. - They couldn't, because LeBron and Wade said, "We made a commitment to Chris Bosch and Beijing, "which Stephen A has reported on. "We told them the three of us will be together, "and the only place they could all be together was Miami." He said, "If you move the third slot open, "they're in Chicago." How about that? - Shay. - We have Spygate at the Olympics. Canada has sent their women's-- - Follow check in the Olympics. - Yeah, Canada has sent their women's head coach home after New Zealand lodged a formal complaint because a Canadian staffer was operating a drone over a closed practice for New Zealand ahead of the two countries opening match-up at the Olympics. - That's crazy. - I didn't even know this was a thing in soccer. Like I get it in football, you film a practice, you can see what kind of plays they're on, you might be able to get some of the signals, counter-stallions, but soccer is such a fluid game. I didn't ever think of filming practices to see what kind of sets they're gonna use. - Bev Priestman is the name of the women's soccer manager. Sent home, holy smokes. - Get out, crook. - That's just amazing. And ultimately, it's soccer, soccer, right? I mean, Shay, as far as all the things that they do, but it's the signals that you wanted, right? And that's what you said. - Do they have signal? Like I don't know how that works. I don't know enough about a soccer sideline to tell you. Oh, well, if you see this signal, you know they're gonna split their wingers. Like, I don't know. - More with Black Nubdala today, between 12 and three, they'll have a keen eye on this particular story. - I was just stunned. I'm like filming. So, what are you getting their set pieces? You're figuring out what they like to do on free kicks? I have no idea. - Now, football, yes. - Soccer, I don't know what else you can learn. - Well, so... It's the type of formation that you're using. - Right, but shouldn't you know that? You could watch New Zealand matches and see they're like a 443. - But what if they changed? What if they changed? They had some kind of exotic way they're gonna control the ball or attack you and you go, be prepared for this. Now, you don't have to make an in-game adjustment 'cause you're already prepped. - Yes, of course. Be prepared for those two players pretending like they're writhing in pain. Look for that play. - Wow. Like, there's a nihilist square footage on a soccer field. Even if you can pull the signs and you're like, yeah, they're gonna reverse their wingers here. How do you communicate that to your players that are 150 feet away from you? - Shay, you know coaches are insane. You could literally have a guy with seven drug failed tests. - We can fix them all the time. - They can believe that they need every bit of it. - John Fox was asked, is Cutler getting an MRI? I'm not gonna get into that. I mean, and then they released later today. Yes, he's getting an MRI. It's like, just be fair here, be open. - Shay Norley. - Hoodie the Ohio State Supreme Court had a food ruling. This week, I thought was interesting. Back in 2016, this guy went to a bar and ordered some boneless wings. All good, had a nice meal with his wife, it was all great. A couple days later, he's got a fever. He can't keep any food down. So he goes to the ER. ER people find out he's got a thin bone from a boneless chicken wing lodged in his esophagus. It cut his esophagus and is causing an infection. So he gets it fixed. And then what do you do? Well, you sue the place because they gave you a bone in wing that they called boneless. This is a problem. - Right. - Well, the Ohio State Supreme Court has ruled in a four, three ruling that boneless wings refer to the cooking style. Customers should be prepared for bones because it is common knowledge that chickens have bones. So even if you order boneless wings, expect a bone. - Okay, that's some BS. If you're asking for boneless wings, you are supposed to not have bones in them. You're supposed to just be able to just rip into it and say, hey, it's boneless. It's boneless wings after all. - Hold on a second. Have you ever bought seedless watermelon? I buy it all the time. I got some yesterday. It's one of my favorite summer fruits. There's still seeds in there. - I thought that you'd ask me that. But I would just say that, I mean, listen, if you're comfortable, I would just say that it's your job. But I would just tell you that. - But I did. (laughing) - Hey. - There's a whole bunch of seeds in there. - Come on and see if I choke on a seed 'cause it's seedless watermelon? - Sure. - Come on and see. - No. - F dead guy. - Come on, if say, Shay, you're more than welcome to sit in that chair. This guy's out. - F that guy, Shay. He does not win the boneless wings. - Boneless wings are not chicken wings. They're made from like white meat breast and just breaded and fried. - And guess what? You should have a little bit more awareness that it's chicken. There were bones there. There could be a piece in there. - No, it was cooked to be boneless and they made a mistake. That should not be on that yet, man. - Don't guarantee. - Yeah. That's where the, that's where we're in right now. You can't be litigious when you think it's going to get boneless wings. There's a bone in it. No, that's your fault, the customer. - This poor bastard has his esophagus ripped open by a bone in his boneless chicken wings. And it's his fault. - Yes, this is the country that we live in. - That is not a lawsuit that he would win. And he did. - Yeah. - He won it until the Supreme Court. - Yeah. This country even chickens not safe. - Nope. - Write that down, Jay Moore. Even chickens not safe. - He told me there was a piece of metal in there. Okay, different story. But you buy chickens have bones that can get through in the process. - Not boneless chicken. - That can happen. - I hope that this case gets in front of Skotas. I, that, that institution ruling on whether boneless chicken wings should be expected to have bones. It sounds great. Art for the course. - All right, Jay. - All right, quickly, hoodie Hawk to a girl went viral about a month ago. I thought her 15 minutes would have been up by now, but she is selling autographed trading cards for a hundred bucks a pop. She's got an agent. She's doing press tours. Has Hawk to a girl overstate her welcome for anybody else. I'm over it. - Not yet. Not yet. We're about minute 13 on the 15. You know. - It's, yeah. - Well, we got to be approaching the 14th minute here. - Close, close though. But you know what? It's what we talked about earlier this week. She's just trying to get just drip, get drip, drip, drip, drip of all the little things left in her fandom. - 13, about 13 minutes and 30 seconds. She hasn't been on any reality shows yet, has she? - Not that I know. - You have to do that once. You got to go around that and do that once. - But if you're a reputable agent. - That's CAA. Yeah, the Hawk to a girl's on the phone. - Who? - Awesome. - Love a hip hop 11. - Yes. - All right. - That'd be great for him. - What she's on VH1. What she's on Love and Hip Hop Atlanta.
