Bosellis from Chicago and the NBA's G-League team ignited. Zellis went to the rim strong that time and said with his chance the rookie did shot clock at six Bosellis got it and he looks to the basketball gods and says thank you Zellis for the closeout by Pichamsky that I'm trapped in the corner spins and pulls and got the fortuitous bounce that grip that time good defense by Zellis like this move here I like this game I mean he's obviously lead a frame little lean right gold left one on Bosellis as Zellis says I'll do it myself and that was a slick move by the rookie great hand so he had offers from all the big schools because he got that soft burner he got that touch folks from all over the court talking about this guy's game cross-court pass little at dribble dribble highlights for the Chicago Bulls who Zellis the rookie getting it done welcome to the cap and jay good morning show on ESPN 1000 and streaming on the ESPN Chicago app with Chris Blackin for cap on Jay Hood we have got Kevin we've got Jay Moore we got you here on this on YouTube hit that subscribe button the same thing on twitch twitch.tv/ESP1000Chicago a little Mark Jones a little Doris Burke for your Tuesday morning Doris enjoying as they're saying some great things about the Bulls rookie yeah Bosellis I mean he's been playing well in two games at Summer League and I know that the casual basketball fans saying like you guys are paying attention to the Summer League I do when there's a rookie that you can learn something from and I think he's shown early on you know in the game on Sunday he had 28 points five rebounds he shot four of eight from three a big concern for Bosellis last season the G-League was that he claims to be a good three-point shooter who shot poorly last year in the G-League from three but I think here's the key from watching him through two games of the Summer League and the Bulls played tonight against the Pistons 530 on NBA TV he is aggressive he is looking to score the basketball he is not timid out there and he is actually the opposite of what we're expecting to see from Patrick Williams you know Patrick Williams is supposed to be a wing player to be a super athlete someone that take control of the game Bosellis isn't waiting for someone to defer to him he catches the ball he's either going up with a shot or fighting to the basket we saw in his first game on Saturday afternoon he went to the foul line I think eleven times which is great for a young player and when you watched heading into the draft some film on him he looked as if he was slight maybe that he was gonna have to put out a lot of muscle to be able to play at the next level he looks to be fine at Summer League at least which is a good thing to see and I know it's only Summer League but the one thing you can definitely take away from Summer League is when a player can't play at Summer League that's not gonna work you know it looks like Ronnie James yeah yeah when they look over matched at Summer League that's a major problem and I from what I've seen so far from Bosellis is that this is a player who can shoot the basketball he is taking advantage of the hesitation from the three to get the defender off off their position to then get into like a floater spot around the the free throw line he also attacks the basket we saw a highlight dunk in the last game honestly Jonathan I was surprised in two games of Summer League I am absolutely surprised at how well he's played to this point for the Bulls well I think you look at it from this standpoint if he was stinking and looking bad in Summer League you say oh boy where the Bulls have you knew he was a project coming in I talked to people that were in that G League ignite about Bosellis and they said you know he's young he's raw he's got to shoot the ball better from the outside but he's long there's some things that he could do to help this Bulls team and because the Bulls are going in the other direction that means that Bosellis will probably get a lot more playing time than if it was a team that's really in contention here's something you never heard before Billy Donovan's son Billy Donovan the third with some thoughts on this young player Bosellis and what he's seen so far because maybe there's some optimism with the Bulls with a young player like they drafted the Bulls are able to pick up some more background and try to get charged and shout that little soft fade away for the next position down like got a transition dunk like this woke up our team a little bit I thought this was over on service rest in this I thought he shot the right shots he put it yesterday he had been a political session in his way so then it started thinking a little bit he sees like he can take over sort of make good decisions rather than just just I guess yes a lot of questions and like he's getting nice and usual and like he loves me and like the fact that he loves you as much as he does He's got more where to go honestly but with him loving the game the way he does it's going to help him so Billy Donovan the third talking about him and if you're wondering yes Billy Donovan's son also choose gum a lot too yeah he just named the head coach for the when do you say Bulls that's correct yeah and so nice how do you get that job yeah well he was on he was an assistant with Billy's team with the Bulls last year yeah how do you get that job yeah he was part of the staff yeah he knows he knows he knows somebody yeah okay yeah yeah yes he knows people in the league yes and so that's why that happens kind of a coaching Bronney situation yeah yeah yeah I don't know I don't know you should be so lucky Z pack I didn't want to work at a steel mill like my dad did see I mean says no one stopped you know what stopped you my own feeble body stopped that's a no one stopped you from being it you could have been there well you know someone could pick up the phone anyway you know what could have been the girl Friday there he could have done that here's something that I've noticed through two games for the Bulls in Summer League Republic Steel may help you go ahead Chris go ahead you were saying no I want to hear Kevin no no no okay go ahead I would say booz booz Ellis looks like someone that belongs where Julian Phillips the draft pick from last year just looks like another guy that's just out there on the court yes not a difference maker whatsoever much like Dale and Terry last year in his second season playing in Summer League did not look like a difference maker just looked like another guy that can't really shoot that's what Phillips kind of looks like was Ellis looks like a player who can be something which goes back to he fell in the draft and the Bulls were lucky to pick him where they were but he was hyped two years ago leaving high school and not going to college going to the G League his his tape didn't look great at the G League but he is definitely impressed in the last two games and and I'm gonna tune in at 5 30 tonight to see what he's gonna do in the third game tonight okay so I will be watching because it's basketball on my TV we'll have a few more weeks left then we're gonna get into the into Paris and what's happening with the team USA who barely got passed Australia and Josh Giddy by the way saw a lot of that games like boy I got close at the end but the U.S. team USA was able to get it done I guess once again Chris this is one of those topics of separate the artists from the management in that if you're watching Bosellis and you're saying okay he's gonna get some playing time if you watching Josh Giddy who's 22 23 years of age a young Kobe White a young Patrick Williams and a young I/O De Sumu and others on this team you could say I'm really close players yeah at the other side of it is like boy I'm really pissed at management I'm pissed I'm pissed at ownership because this isn't going in the right direction there's two ways to look at it you could say I'm rooting for the Bulls the players on the floor or you could say I'm done with the Bulls because they don't have a commitment to winning and I totally understand that point of view as well I'm watching the young guy you never give up on young players if you can help it unless they're just awful but I think that what from what I saw the way you saw it I was impressed Josh Giddy is also impressed with this well it's not an Oklahoma City but there was not enough basketballs for Oklahoma City and with the Bulls I saw him last yesterday afternoon playing his team USA I mean great handles great passing ability he's got to shoot the ball better though that's that's the reason why he's out with the thunder right now yeah he was able to get to the rim whenever he wanted to yesterday against team USA a very good defensive team USA as well so yeah he looked good almost a triple double and Australia late made it close then I think what team USA was expecting but yeah there's potential there and I think that's what's interesting there was a column in the Sun Times this morning by Joe Cowley about Zach Levine the Bulls still have him on the roster and how de Mar de Rosen was essentially the buffer between Zach and Billy Donovan last year so if Zach's still gonna be here because right now he's on the roster how does that go in season because that fights against the force that you're building with young players with potential giddy buzzellus you look at Kobe White the imprint the improvement he made last year I would assume who you have some nice pieces that people would like to see develop more and could be entertaining that to me is more interesting and entertaining from night to night a group of young players that have potential then what we saw old vets that we know can't get it done last season it made the end of the year for Bulls basketball almost a tune out we knew each and every night exactly what that team was gonna bring to the table when you see a group of young guys come together it will be exciting because we'll get to learn whether or not they can actually do it and quite honestly the way they're built at this moment and I know Darnell Mayberry wrote about this I think it was a week ago two weeks ago I know he was on your show as well they might be too good I'm not saying championships or playoffs but like they might be in that playing hunt just the way that they're constructed at this moment you know I'm saying like are they bad enough to be a bottom feeder I don't know if they are at this moment well if you're asking if they're gonna be in the Cooper flag sweepstakes it will not they won't be that bad right and so you have to move Zach you got to move vouch still and I don't know if the group that you currently have constructed the young players that we we named here is that a bottom three or four team no I think that no I think that that still resides with the Pistons and the Hornets and the Wizards and Portland yeah so those teams in the east that means the Bulls will still be somewhere between 11 10 9 range well I think I think ultimately what we're saying is is that if you think that you want to get a top pick if you're the Bulls if you're gonna go young pull the Band-Aid all the way off yeah of course the idea that we're just gonna do we don't think that well first of all you're not going to pay de-rosin at his age the money that he's owed you're not going to pay Caruso a four or five year deal worth 80 million dollars so you want to move those guys that's fine but you get go all the way I'll say this also Billy Donovan did not come here to coach kids now that's going to be an interesting story too I know that he's making money and I know that he's happy with the money that he's making but he came here to increase the chances of the Bulls to be a perennial playoff team we saw his time Oklahoma City had to be talked into the job he was going to be taking some time off after Oklahoma City and he was supposed to be the right guy at the right time to be the head coach for the Bulls because there was a veteran latent team and they ran into the upper echelon of the east the boston's of the world the the bucks calves the Bulls kind of single-handedly helped build the magic to where they are right now Indiana 76ers teams of that ilk what I'm telling you Chris is that Billy Donovan didn't come here to coach kids now maybe it's more palatable more interesting for him like okay I don't have to worry about a ball stopper or someone telling me what to do now I got young players that will listen that doesn't mean winning yeah and they they changed a lot within the coaching staff I know there was like two or three different changes I think they knew it was forced by management people on the on the staff uh I know that uh they also announced the training staff there was different moves made there there was you know it's interesting about that which is very I don't know is disappointing the way to look at it but it seems Jonathan as if uh those at the top there's no criticism to how they assembled all of this yes yeah there are a lot of people below them that lost their gigs but those at the top within the Bulls organization are still there who took the blame for the way this team played last season well there are a lot of people was that working for the team they're not there anymore yeah that's true but those at the top A.K and Eversley they're still there sure what they really accomplished in this offseason they looked into a nice what looks like a nice pick in the top 10 sure they still have Zack on the roster they didn't really get anything for Caruso right I mean not Carus do you have Giddy but like with tomorrow to rosin you were stuck in a spot where you didn't really get what you were hoping for you didn't get the extra draft pick from Oklahoma City in which they have seven thousand of them so vouch on the roster yeah I mean they're the ones that put this together that's right a lot of people below them there are a lot of changes if you if you saw the press release last week there was a training head trainer new head trainer there is also a lot of assistance that were kind of changed about sure on the staff those at the top are the same yeah that's staying for the next 10 years as long as they want the job because that's how it works that's how the organization works right with more on Zaclovina potential trade here's Joe Cowley you know they're doing everything they can and I think this pick or this three-way trade helped them a little bit to get a couple more picks possibly throw in there because there are teams that do value second round pick you know I always say second round picks are kind of like Bitcoin they're kind of the eye of the beholder do you value Bitcoin or do you not the bulls do not value second round picks like some organizations do otherwise they would have moved around that trade deadline and gotten a couple second rounders so I think they're doing everything they can because to bring him back at this point is kind of a disaster I mean your guard rooms full already and that's not even including Lonzo Ball he's not going to be happy his agency in his representation is not happy there's a total mistrust they still feel and they'll never admit it but trust me I've talked to enough people they still feel like you could have rehabbed a little longer you didn't have to opt for that surgery at that point you did that to kind of say oh I'm a Detroit rumor and I'm not even saying that Detroit trade was close but the fact that it was being talked about and that was a possibility and you thumb your nose at it and say oh well we're opting for surgery right now um that that pissed them off and so um you know and on that side of it you know ever since he's come here he's been a trade rumor so you either invest in me and believe in me or you don't so I get both sides of it but it's just a it's just a bad bad relationship and anything they say if they can't get a trade done and they bring him back they'll both do the song and dance that yeah you know this this is we want that they don't want Zach Levine anywhere in that building trust me and Zach knows it that's there from Joe Cali from the Sun Times I they're trying to they're trying to move them they haven't yet and I think that's why Cali has a column up today pointing it out you know uh evercely in AKA they spoke to Casey Johnson from what I saw uh two days ago at Summer League I think Darnell has a piece up with quotes from them as well so they're talking but nothing is happening because you gave a bad contract to Zach Levine a player that no one wants at that price so that's one secondly teams are concerned about the injury situation whether or not he's going to continue to be injured and third the three-point shooting was down year over year and they're wondering if you're getting a diminished a beginning to miss returns in Zach Levine yeah if you're a good team he comes off the bench will he be happy with that he won't okay so you know because he he essentially his career is turning into he's an elevated Lou Williams okay Jamal Crawford you know like those guys have long careers where they were a six-man off the bench scoring guy not relying uh defense at all for him but like Zach is better than that but he's not better than that to be in replace of Paul George you know like a team's not going to go out and get Zach Levine because they missed out on Paul George that's not that's not the situation there if if he was an attractive player Chris around the league he'd be gone by now yeah no doubt but but the problem is it's the contract does not equate to the production he's a good player yes but he's not a good player at that number and that's what the entire conversations be then and that's why in 2022 over that winter I continuously on this station during black and Abdullah at night was saying you have to trade Zach now because when we get to the summer he's gonna get a max deal and you don't want to be stuck with Zach Levine on a max contract because he's not a top level player in the league that that was my stance in that winter of 2022 I didn't change my opinion after he signed the max deal saying oh now he's bad I was saying it ahead of the contract you have to move him before the contract he's not a max player he absolutely isn't and now the Bulls are stuck in this situation because what was their justification well can't we got a you got to pay him we have to pay him he's here yeah what kind of way to build the team is that it's a joke j-mo how good did that feel for you to be able to put that Bulls highlight together that might be the only one of the year I don't think you what about today it felt good though that's not a great looking at the footage and listening to it it's uh it's promising and you know that dunk was good it felt good though jay more that you put that together I mean it it sounded like this team is going to be a run the way you produced it that's a team that's on making a run just being hopeful man yeah I need some wins it's just man it sounded good it made me feel better about the Bulls that see that's what production does yeah of course it elevates you it makes you feel better about the actual current situation so that's exactly what happened there so again because of all the stories that's out there Chris we'll keep our eyes of the story but again I just want something interesting I just want to see how Billy Donovan is handling all of this handsomely paid but knowing that his team is barely a play in team and again you have to go all in if you feel like you want to be in the Cooper flag sweepstakes you have to go and bottom out I don't like it but this is the hand that the Bulls have dealt themselves if if they miss out on Cooper flag because they traded away all the vets yeah and these young pieces come together in their first season and surprise the league we'll take that right like won't we take that sure like you had the right approach but if you have Zach on this roster for the start of the season you have vouch on the roster you're winning some games some young players are playing oh wait Kobe White can't start because Zach's here and we can't upset Zach because we're trying to trade Zach so we need him to be here we can't have him have him sitting out forcing the rest of the league to know that there's an issue here so so Zach Levine's the starter but Kobe you're our best player but you have to come off the bench because we have to worry about this ego over here like you can't have that that's tough but if a group of young players come together and win basketball games this city will get behind it yeah I would agree with that but this it's not likely because again well you have a couple of veterans with young players and you're trying to foster the young players are along there's gonna be miss shots gonna be hurt feelings when Zach wants to take it over and so ultimately at this time with this current roster you're in the same spot and you're actually in the same spot is ownership okay with the direction of young players playing or are we still mandating that they have to make the plan oh definitely the lights have to be on in April yeah late April yeah at least one time at the United Center so uh so to the very top Michael and Jerry uh what's the deal with that and great question I mean that you got it you got to figure it out you can't make you can't make a run with vets like that will you be concerned if Caleb and Rome are not signing today talking about the two rookies for the Chicago Bears we will talk about it coming up next with Chris Blaken for cap i'm jhood cap and jhood weekday morning seven to ten you're listening to cap and jhood follow the show on instagram at the capman and at i-g-jhood this is esp at Chicago Chicago's home for sports it's a cap and jhood morning show on espn one thousand and we're streaming on the espn Chicago app with Chris black in for cap i am jhood three one two three three two three seven seven six are phone number we're with you till ten o'clock then my green bird comes in at ten coming to yorko twelve to three it is waddle and peggy two thirty to six thirty into the major league baseball all-star game our coverage starts at six thirty right here on the home of the white socks and bears espn one thousand so i know that you've been checking social media chicago bears dot com no and smoke signals and pigeons and everything else nothing has uh come across about Caleb Williams and roma dunes a regarding them signing their rookie deals nothing yet nothing yet uh are you concerned i'm not concerned it needs to happen today that i need to be concerned no that they need to be signed if it doesn't happen today i'm going to start to be uh start getting concerned here i mean bears brookies report to camp today this is the day we are here football seasons here Jonathan so you expect to sit in arm and arm a dunes a in williams on the sidelines for the titan game is like you know what we're not playing until we get i get what we want is that what you want to sit in no so okay am i concerned that they will not play in games i'm not concerned to that extent what i my concern would be based on the the learning of a new offense as a rookie slash the vibes of the off-season have all been very positive and i would just want to keep that rolling i don't want there to be this hiccup at the start where we get two weeks into the preseason and it's like well Caleb's behind because it took him a week and a half to actually get into camp with a signed contract and they were allowed the extra week of prep because of the hall of fame game this year so take advantage of it i want day one you know we talked to albert breer about an hour ago and he said he expects Caleb williams just to be rolling from day one as starter with the playbook and everything to go let's let's get to it that that's what my concern is do i think it would be of the level that you laid out where he's not gonna play in preseason games or a game in the season i don't think that's a case he will play i don't know what the concern yet yes we're here right now and nothing has been signed but Chris it's it's going to happen all right here's the thing the reason why that i'm more optimistic about this is because i do not want to fall into the narrative that everyone had about Caleb Williams but even before the bears were able to get him on the roster there was so much negativity on this station from listeners and callers and people on social media about who Caleb Williams is and i mean based on on false blogs or just based on word of mouth and just being ill informed that the miss the the fountain of misinformation that was out there from people talking about Caleb Williams which is absolutely absolutely nonsense i mean if anyone is a source about Caleb Williams it would be you and that usc program and the kind of person that he was so what i'm doing is is that i'm bracing myself and believing that Caleb Williams and roma dunes they will sign their deals on hard knocks or sometimes this week where it's on camera where it happens and you move on is that is it happening at the 11th hour yes yes but once again this is not the traditional signing because Caleb Williams does not have an agent but you should and that's what's concerning to me is that there could be you know uh disruption in the process because he's not going into this with an agent to be old that say oh yeah this is how i've negotiated this previous first round pick or whatever it is someone to be the middleman in this uh conversation and yeah i i was critical of Caleb Williams last year i'm i'm a usc fan and at times last year he didn't play well and he he didn't play anywhere near what he played two years ago and some of the reporting and i also think some of what uh after the fact we're learning is lincoln riley's inability to control his program or the fact that he didn't want anyone to talk after losses therefore it made Caleb Williams look bad sure that he would go out there and play a poor game and then not speak to anyone was coming from the head coach i was critical of Caleb Williams last year absolutely um but i think what we've learned throughout the draft process is he seems to be genuine he seems to be someone who's well aware of who he is and he wants to work and he wants to be great at football and he's embraced this city and i'm i'm ready to see him uh succeed in a bear's uniform and he will i think he will too it's the best i've ever felt about a new quarterback in town in my entire life hi that says something that's saying something trabisky there were major questions well hold on you're not 10 years old no no i mean you i'm gonna go through i'm gonna go through the the whole ringer before that oh yeah well before that i'm saying like trabisky you drafted high lot of questions fields drafted high-ish but he was always the second guy on the board at least you know he didn't fall as the second guy but you know in college he and Lawrence were the two guys that people talked about a lot and we talked about in the college football show at the time uh you go back to jay cutler jay cutler proved somewhat yep in Denver that he was a good player yes he was wildly inconsistent mm-hmm i feel much better about Caleb Williams than i did jay cutler when he was traded from Denver to Chicago mm-hmm you know then we we go through the malaise of most of the 2000s in the 90s yes not really a whole lot there to be excited about sure i mean i like the jim iller years year or the jim iller year he only had one year mm-hmm oh i like that year it's a nice year yeah well playoff run with diktor on as head coach man but what i'm saying jonathan is like when you think back to all of the drafted quarterbacks the gross men's uh trabisky the uh fields anyone that we drafted i've never felt as good about a quarterback as i do Caleb Williams uh there's a some news you do you see this come across your phone what do you have to do about uh Kobe Bryant's father passing away what's sad joe Bryant's former NBA player and father of Kobe Bryant passed away at the age of 69 so there you go that's that story just coming across you can't help but to think about Kobe especially during these days of what's happening with the Lakers and just like you see more of his after his career is done working with his daughter being a basketball coach and all these inspirational quotes that he had like Kobe actually is more busy than i thought after his basketball career is over got a lot of things to say he was interviewed a lot oh yeah and then of course his father was uh was a big factor in his life so that story is coming across yeah it's sad news and unfortunately you know we're reminded a lot about Kobe based on you know team USA getting together and he late in his career was like the captain and the leader of team USA basketball and uh just other young players who wanted to model their game after Kobe so he's still in the forefront even though it's been some time now since his passing which was so sad in the moment but yeah that's sad news joe Bryant all right three one two three three two three seven seven six is our telephone number i hear what you're saying chris when you talk about the quarterback scenario there's been very few times where we can go into a season like you know what that's the gun that's going to be the guy even with jim miller we did not know at the time but jim air creamers on that and that conversation as well and then now you have Caleb Williams again it's still the great unknown but this the the factor is is all the weapons around him no i mean i can't think of a quarterback for the bears that's been more equipped to go into a season ready to go to be able to win over the last ten years plus then Caleb Williams always question marks like one wide receiver or one running back or a couple offensive linemen one tight end but look across the board that deb chart of the bears have i'm not saying there's any excuses but what i'm saying is is that looking with the bears have and look at the quarterbacks that the bears have had over the last ten plus years we'll use it as a sample size no one's had this amount of production um skins on the wall then this group that the bears have right now for Caleb Williams so we will see i'm not concerned though about whether that he's got a sign or not i think that's going to happen gotta get to get off to a fast start yeah no question get him in the camp let's go today let's go bears hard knocks will have the story first they'll break it first they'll break it first so we'll have to wait for the first episode yeah who doesn't already sign it might be just holding it back who knows but i just think uh i think it's all intriguing but i just i'm not going to fall for the okie doke of see i thought jizz this guy's a diva paints his nails cries to his mom no i don't i don't think it's diva esque but i he has been on the record saying he wants to break the mold yeah and so my concern would be the long play if he's great the bears the second go around for this second contract that's where he's going to try and break the bold you see what i'm saying like this rookie deal is for the most part kind of set based on the pa uh in the rookie scale but what will happen is if he succeeds here and he is a very good quarterback then that second deal he's going to want something you haven't thought of before as far as a athlete with a contract he's going to want the most money it's going to be that's where he'll break the mold you know they say that uh the day after the super bowl there's not a lot of work happening after the day after the super bowl what about today this might be a day where a lot of people are just not working we're talking about it next on cap and trey hood cap and j-hood arm back oh cap j-hood big fan man cap and roti bop-bop-bop-bop watch out fellas on jicago's home for sports esp and chicago cap and j-hood on esp and one thousand and streaming on the esp and chicago app j more all you got to do is you get in that your ride and you turn the base all the way as high as you can take the trouble all the way down and just play diggable planets everyone will notice you yeah the rattling coming from your back your trunk or your your hatch it's exactly right by the the bone rattling bass that's coming from this song from from uh diggable planets you can feel it before you hear it that's ridiculous yeah like if i was kind of pick you up or someplace you know i'd be in the neighborhood i'd be three blocks away yep that's heard i can hear diggable planets from three blocks away my buddy in high school he gave me a ride and he didn't even have to honk or come to the door and you could hear him coming from down the block in his little honda prelude old cramp box but you could hear that bass like yep here he comes here here it is when you hit that man just sick baseline it's very disappointed didn't have a follow-up three four five albums after that one uh it says on my sheet here chris black colon chicken oh yeah what does that mean so i don't usually work uh mornings here with you i'm usually with uh karmen and yorco in the uh afternoon and then blackened him doll in the evening yes uh so my my hours today and yesterday are different my wife knows that so she knows that i would be leaving uh the studios after the show right around 10 does she know i'm with you yeah okay yeah she's not listening but she knows uh law support there you know she's not listening uh so yesterday yay it's for the better i mean we we don't need the wives to be listening i just thought because it's me that we keep listens to your shows yes but you're only half of it okay today i'm the other half so it's not going to work okay she hears enough of me yesterday she said hey can you pick up uh breakfast on the way home yeah so yeah that's cool no problem she wanted a uh specific chicken breakfast so there's a restaurant that serves chicken sometimes they're closed on sundays in fact most sundays they're closed a chicken restaurant right and so i'm downtown with you and i live on the the northwest side and so i say okay there's a chicken restaurant up that way i could stop at let me order on the mobile app before i get in the car here in the the loop and then by the time i get there it will be ready because i ordered a head thinking ahead and then boom you pick it up and you leave very unusual jmora usually you get uncle remis open on a sunday but but nonetheless go ahead different chicken place i was thinking browns obviously no what am i surprised why am i not surprised Kevin's i was thinking brown not browns so i make the also like the nice delicious arcy by the way along with arcy cola he's the only one i sold her field drinking arcy cola i do like arcy cola i'll have you know that's exactly please go ahead true chicago uh so so i make the i make the order and i send it in uh on their app the chicken app sure and it confirms and you know how when you make a payment online your credit card statement or your credit card apple then also alert you that you made a payment to know that it went through right like someone took your money that's correct okay so i put my phone back in my pocket get in the car and when we left yesterday it was about 10 15 ish a little traffic on the eden or heading uh on the kennedy heading north uh i pull into the driveway of the chicken restaurant i get out of the car and i go walking in it's about 10 35 okay this is important the times are important because the chicken restaurant stops serving breakfast at 10 30 got it i walk in and there's no order zero order i pull all my phone i go oh well i made the order about 15 minutes ago or so really 20 but about 15 minutes ago pull the phone the order is now gone on the on the phone it auto canceled the order because the amount of time it took for me to get to the restaurant passed their breakfast cut off point damn so they just canceled the instead of making the order at 10 15 and just leaving it there for someone to come pick up they just outright canceled it so i said well here here's the order that i had can i have it well it's past breakfast now and i go okay hold on you know because at this point i know i lost there there's no coming back from this if you miss the the breakfast cut off yeah there's no you can't get them to make an extra order and i don't really care that much it was for my wife like i didn't even order anything it was just breakfast for her so you know tough we'll just get a different day i guess sure i go okay you are aware that this is a flawed system right and the guy looks at me goes well you don't have to get i go no no i'm not mad at you i'm not mad this is funny like you're you canceled the order because the pickup wasn't until after but the order was placed well before like 15 minutes before the cut off how does that make any sense because apparently the chicken app tracked your gps so they saw that i wasn't close and it just auto-cancelled it so what was the response from the guy well they wanted they wanted to give me like they're gonna give me lunch or whatever but i did i was sent specifically for a specific breakfast item of the chicken biscuit combo thing so like you know how that works with peacock like if you were sent out to get something specific oh yeah you can't really show up with something that's not the specific item you were sent to go get right yes because if you do it is your fault so i said no thank you i'm not looking to score free food uh i'm just trying to have a conversation with another human that this is ridiculous i'm actually going to take the side of the restaurant here you would see listen because if you have people placing breakfast orders early before the cut off time and then picking them all up you're the problem the cut off there would be anarchy no because i said we live in a society i made a point to say to the guy i made a point i'm not running a scheme because i was worried how does he trust you how does he take it what i was worried of the way it looked like i was trying to scheme breakfast past ten thirty sounds like something i was not a scheme i'd say i go there's there's traffic this city there's traffic everywhere fellas that's nothing man compared to a establishment i'm not going to give their name but i give their location they're on the west out of chicago they serve tacos they are on austin and chicago avenue uh-huh okay you call you put your order in and they say uh 25 minutes hmm the minute you walk through the door it's a cash only business now oh you walk through the door they drop your order right then and there and now you're waiting even more and this has been for years the worst what's the point of the call ahead then there's no point and that's what i said to the uh chicken establishment owner i said what's the purpose of the app i followed the rules i placed it on the order so i could pick it up you're talking to the owner you you set up the flagpole well no they uh i think they owner operators in in these establishments so i think he's you know he's like the guy there right like you know i was like i followed the rules i went through the app which we're being told to use the apps for all these restaurants if you order a pickup order shouldn't it be made in the moment so then you can pick it up isn't the whole point to make it quick as we go to break and get ready for the cut of the day i would say that there should be a 10-minute straggler line where it should be like look if there's an order here just keep it warm for 10 minutes if you're not there by 1040 so long everybody that's what i would do a straggler because traffic it can be a problem yeah you know say for instance you were in line at the drive drive-through and then it took 15 minutes okay so now it's 10 30 if you're in the drive-through no breakfast sorry man sorry i know you were in the drive-through for 15 minutes but right the owner's been canceled i mean after 1030 they were very nice about it but i just wanted to make sure i wasn't trying to scheme them the cap and jayhood cut of the day is next right here
