We've got U for a three hour ride on this Monday morning with open phone lines for you 3-1-2-3-2-3-2-3-3-2-3-7-7-6 is our phone number. Chris, it's good to see you. How are you, sir? What's up, Jonathan? Good weekend? I'm great. Did you enjoy yourself? What's sports going on over the weekend? Yeah, despite that, I still caught up on the bear. Oh, did you? Yes. I knew that we'd be working a lot together this week, and I know that you and all of you, we're watching it. So, Peacock and I were catching up on the bear, so we'll talk about that. I knew we were working together as like, "Well, I better lock in on this for a few episodes." We are slow burning the heck out of it. I think we still have like four episodes left. So do we. It's like almost a weekly thing, but it's great. It's a great show. It's really a love letter to the city of Chicago. It is, and it shows the hard-working men and women of the city. Yeah, it's great. Only while you're trying to provide fine dining and beef sandwiches, but still it's still hard-working people. Yeah, I really enjoy it. It's a great show. Yeah. We highly suggest a very Chicago-ish Chicago-like the bear on FX and Hulu. Very good. The difference is sometimes being in this city, if you live in the city, or you travel to, if you live in the suburbs and you spend time downtown, things look a certain way. Yes. You can tell when Hollywood uses the name of something and that it's not actually filmed in Chicago. This show is filmed in the city. Yes. You can notice the places. You see the restaurants. You see people who are like that, gentlemen, just walked by our window with a chair in the smoke. And what else was he carrying? He had a coffee. A coffee? A chair and a smoke. Yes. Just walking down the street. Yes. But of our studios here, and watch a show as if he's on Donahue. Of course. So that's what he's going to do right now. For a live studio audience. That's what he's going to do. And by the way, Shay, just for point of fact, we talked about shows that are not quite Chicago. You just saw a movie just recently that has nothing to do with Chicago. Well, it's based in Chicago, the bike riders, but it was filmed in Cincinnati. And when Chris said you can see the Chicago shows that aren't quite Chicago, yeah, that's how I felt the entire time watching the movie. And I probably have an unfair opinion of the movie because I spent the whole thing watching it going, where is there this hill in Chicago? No, it's totally true that I've yet to see the movie. And in fact, listening to this show has led me to not want to go see bike riders in the theater because I listened to Shay's report on the movie and him telling us that it looks nothing like Chicago, even though it's set in Chicago, I want nothing to do with the movie. Yeah, he has a keen eye for the movies and I'm very sensitive to movies or TV shows that are based in Chicago. If it sounds like they are from Northern Wisconsin or from North Dakota, that's not a Chicago one. That's not. I know this is what they what some people from the outside of this city in the state or the Midwest think that's what we sound like. But we are you are not from the Uppers, no, we're not from the Uppers and we're not from the Dakotas. That's not what we sound like. And then from a cinematography standpoint, the way that she laid it out, I'm like, okay, I'm out. I'm not going to do because I'll get really disappointed in that if it doesn't feel like the city. I've been this Cincinnati. It looks nothing like Chicago. We've been the Cincinnati. Nothing. You and I have been the Cincinnati. It looks nothing like Chicago. We went deep into the city. Where did we go? Over the Rhine? Is that what they call it? Is it Mount Vernon? We would. Mount something. Yeah. Mount Adams. Mount Adams. Yeah. Oh, it looks nothing like Chicago. It's nothing. Nothing like Chicago. And then then Covington. Covington was interesting. Nothing. Nothing like Chicago. No. No. The strip club looked nothing like Chicago and Covington. In the shade when we walked in, they said that the cover, there was a cover charge. What was it? Like five bucks or not? It was five bucks. Yeah. But they're like, and they're like, you also have to purchase a drink. And we're like, all right, we'll take a drink and they handed us a warm. What was it? A high life? Yeah. The warm highlight. In a can. Yeah. In a can. Warm high life in a can. We looked at each other like, all right, we need to get out of here. The lady that was scary. The lady that was on the runway, by the way, as she started to disrobe, you could tell where the Atlantic Ocean was on her stomach. Damn. So. So she was also wearing a one piece bathing suit. Yes. If you recall this. Yes. So you could tell. So now I'm just telling you. Covington, Kentucky. That was the talent right there. I mean, it was like, you can know what all the fault line was and everything else. Yeah, in my belly. Yeah. You do recall this, Chris. Oh, I recall it. It was, we weren't there long. See, but then you know, you're in Covington, Kentucky, you know, that you're not in Chicago. You're in Covington, Kentucky. Yeah. If you can't shoot something in Chicago, for whatever reason, use Toronto. They look very similar. I've read it's Toronto. So Hollywood uses Toronto to film in Chicago and air quotes. They also use Pittsburgh. Apparently, parts of downtown Pittsburgh look somewhat like the loop. So you can pass for filming in a place that's not Chicago in Pittsburgh and still have it look like the buildings are kind of like what you would see here in the city. You're not doing that in Cincinnati. No, sorry. You're not doing that. No, that's. And that all actually. Well, yeah. So, you know, we mentioned strip clubs. Yeah. So my wife was at a bachelor at party over the weekend. Oh, so I had a nice weekend. I, you know, me and the dog are just hanging out. What a great weekend. Just sit at home and rot. Well, golf, but then the rain came through, but it was a nice weekend. She tells me at the bachelor at party that they had a bartender show up at the house for an afternoon and an evening to get a bartender, right? And they were not allowed to have a male bartender. Not allowed to have a male bartender. Ten women. Yeah. For a bachelor at party. They weren't allowed to have a male bartender. And this eat it came down from. I don't know where it came from. I just know that that was the, the assessment of the situation. Well, someone had to be able to, you know, put their hand down and say, like, they're fizzed down, like, no, you're not going to have a male bartender. Someone had to say that amongst the ten women. Listen, we're, we're all, I'm not going to speak for the ages of the ladies, but I'm almost 40. I'm 39. Yeah. They're in the 30s range. Sure. We're all adults. What do you, what's, what's the issue here? Like do other guys look at their fiance and say, yeah, bartender, no, it's got to be a lady. No, I've never heard of that. And I, I like, like who cares? What do you, what, what's going to happen? God, that me. Like it's. Well, I mean, that could happen. Yes. At any time. He's not starting the drinks with the apparatus. Right. What apparatus? You know, the, the tool. Oh, I see. That's tough. Well, you're, here's, here's what I would say. What, what's happening here? Well, I think the question is, is that a deal breaker, if you're audio and you realize that there's no male that's stirring the drinks, you're part of the expression. Exactly. Is that a deal breaker? Well, man, I think it should be. I mean, because it sounds like someone forced the issue to say, hey, you can have your party, but it can't be a guy that's stirring the drinks. That, that guy is too busy. Well, I mean, he doesn't have time to show what he can do. He's not going to strip down. Right. He's working. He's working. He's working for tips. Jumping. That's what he's doing. He's working for a tip as a bartender as a bartender. That's what he's, it's what he's working for. I mean, listen, it's, I would imagine many guys who are listening to the show, have wives, girlfriends, fiancees who go to bachelorette parties and they, they have male entertainment. Right. Guys, you, you've probably been to a bachelor party where you've seen male, female entertainment for your buddy. Right. And what's, what's it, what's the big, like a bartender is not that, like it, from what I was led to believe it wasn't like a, it wasn't like he was going to show up at the door and be like, bartender here, who ordered some drinks and then, you know, rip off the, like it, like it was actually someone to work as a bartender. I see. You know what I'm saying? Like they were, they were hired to be a bartender, not to show up in a little police outfit and have a little hot cop moment. Yes. A guy with a hard hat and the, the vest, with nothing else underneath saying, I heard that you need some drilling of your walls. Exactly. Exactly. You need, you need your, uh, pipes drained. Yeah. Something, something along those lines. Something you need. Yes. Yes. Something along those lines. Yeah. I said cock. Cock. Yeah. Yes. I've got, I've got the gun loaded. Snake, if you need any plumbing help. Exactly. Exactly. It wasn't that. He was just a bartender. He was just a bartender. Right. They were hiring, uh, they were hiring a bartender where they were at kind of secluded away from like a downtown area. They needed someone for the day to make drinks. I think we just laid out, I think all of the sea level, uh, porn storyline. Yes. The only one we didn't get to was the pizza boy delivers a pizza with extra sausage. Yes. Yes. Mm. Hello. That song sounds so familiar. Um, this weekend. Uh, so. Oh. TMI. It's not sausage, uh, patty. So that's the whole point of it. Yes. Chris, that he was not going to be that. He was just a guy that was working and being a bartender. Right. Someone's so uncomfortable. It's like, oh, it's going to be a male bartender with 10 women. Why is it? Come on, man. Sometimes you gotta be ma'am. How do you like your meat? Oh my God. My God. Did no, he had a grill pickle in the Bloody Mary or no. Want some salt on the rim? I'm just saying, and twitchers, no, what's your deal, twitch? Here's the thing. They're doing the, uh, black, your, your wife didn't want to tell you. So she's telling you something else. Listen, I don't care. I do not, I, I, I'm actually a little disappointed that they didn't get some playful flirting with the, uh, male bartender. You never be afraid to rub it. Right. Like, you get out of there. Right. Well, Paula Deane. Shoot. You'd enjoy that. Right. So I completely understand. See what I'm saying? Yes. It is, it to me, if you trust your wife, your significant other, this won't be a problem. Yeah. Right. But, and, and even if something else happens, you don't want to know about it. Well, it's, it's also, it's a bachelor party. Yes. Have a little fun. You kind of know from your imagination what could happen. What, what could happen? Sure. Not what is going to happen. What, what could happen. Right. So just. Have you ever heard of that before? No. Like have a, have a great time. Uh, by the way, can't be a guy at the bar. So immediately that is a deal breaker. I mean, like, and it could be for me, because the follow up is why what do you think I'm going to do? Right. What do you think I'm going to do? I'm marrying you. And by the way, it's a bachelor party. Anything could happen. Sure. Like for instance, am I asking you what's happening at your bachelor party? I can imagine what could be happening, but I'm not asking. No. Enjoy yourself. Have a bachelor party, but just, it's going to be all dudes, all hard legs. How, how would that work? Exactly. Could you imagine if a woman put the edict down just like on your bachelor party? Yeah, Chris. You know what? All dudes. Hundred percent. Right. Yeah. Go to medieval times. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. One of the hallmarks of the bachelor slash bachelor at party that you and your group of people go out to a bar or a club or whatever, and it's none of the none of your partners are with you. So you get to engage in some of that harmless flirting. Isn't that? Yeah, that's the joy. Like that's the goal of the entire excursion. Exactly. Yes. You have to be so wildly insecure in your own relationship to put the kabosh on a male bartender. Well, and that's why to me, it's a deal breaker at the beginning at the front end of this because it's like, well, we already immediately have trust issues immediately. We have trust issues. And by the way, if that's happening with me, I'm locking the phones up like I'm going to a Chris Rock concert. I'm just telling you, phones locked up and they'll be in the green purse at the end of the night. It's a Chappelle show. It's like, can I get my phone? Okay. Thank you. On the way out. Absolutely. I've been to bachelor parties where the PSA was put out like, let's keep the phones in the pockets, guys. Yeah. You know, because sometimes there's people in your group who post too much. Yes. No, I guess in this group right now, I'm the guest. I would imagine the person who's usually sits in this seat would be the person who posts too much. From an event. Right? Okay. No questions. Always on social media. No questions. He's always posting, right? Well, first of all, if it's one of those situations, I'm not sure if I'm inviting him. Oh, cap cap can be invited. Nope. Not sure. Because I don't know if he has the secret backup phone in the sock. Seriously, he's got he's got multiple phones. And even if the phones are locked up, telegram, telephone, telecatman. Did you see the orifice is that no, that's the thing too. Right? Yeah. You could hold it. He's posting a recap. Even if you don't allow him, like you could disallow the recap and all of it saying none of this goes on social media. He will be in this office Monday morning. You should have seen what hoodie was getting up to see. Shay was standing on his head. You should have seen each lady had a leg. Three ladies, so there you have it there. Like what? No, that's the reason why. That's the reason why. Shay, he got sloppy on the dance floor. He was making out with some girl. Not good, man. Right. Not good. It would be a sidebar brought to my aching law for the great Howard aching. So Shay is getting married, right? And there is this blonde. What? That's private. You snorling you are such a scumbag. Not good, man. Right. Not good. So, you know what, Shay really put the cherry on the Sunday there because then at a bachelor party, right, where you're supposed to just be open and fun and have a good time, he would judge. He would judge. What a scumbag. Take that. Well, then that'll be all, right? So that's why, Chris, when you asked a question, oh, he'd be invited. No shot as we say on the program. A disaster in Miami. We talk about it coming up next on Captain J. Hood. This is Captain J. Hood. They beat in the traffic commute. So you don't have to. Classic. No. Thank you. This up there. Oh. On ESPN Chicago. It's the Captain J. Hood morning show on ESPN 1000. And we are streaming on the ESPN Chicago app. Here's hoping that you're going to have a great Monday and a great week. Chris Bleck is in for cap three, one, two, three, two ESPN is our telephone number. So we're not talking about soccer, but we're going to talk about soccer only in this regard. Copa America final start delayed after fans rush the gates at the place where the Miami Dolphins play in Miami Gardens, Florida. The start time for the 2024 Copa America between Argentina and Columbia was delayed over 75 minutes on Sunday following a security breach in which fans broke through one of the main entry gates. You're supposed to start at seven o'clock. It actually started 822 and there was 120 minutes of extra and regular time. Here's the thing. So I turned on the coverage and I just saw that the announcer was just kind of talking like, well, when's the game going to start? Could you imagine an estimated 7,000 people breaking through the gates and gained entry into the stadium without tickets, Chris, prior to kickoff and the number, the numbers game was not in favor of the cops, 7,000 people without tickets, 550 police officers at the stadium detail. I think the fans win in that spot. Yeah. You tune in to see Rob Stone and Alexi Lawless stalling and awkwardly not really talking about soccer while talking about soccer because they had the extended pregame show. You know, it's a terrible look for this country and hosting big soccer events in two years in 2026. This country in North America will be hosting the World Cup and that stadium specifically Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida will be hosting seven games within that tournament. And what was happening was that fans were just showing up to the stadium without tickets in hopes to rush the gates. And when you saw over an hour before the match that each gate, there was just herds of people packed in and it looked some of the video online. It looked like complete chaos where, you know, if you see looting in a store where there's just pushing and shoving and people just trying to break through places, that's what it looked like. It looked like, you know, you had people screaming, pushing, punching, all kinds of stuff just trying to break through the perimeter gates to get into the stadium. And then there are also videos online of people trying to like break into actual infrastructure within the stadium like air ducts and other means to get into the stadium. It was a crazy scene and it's a bad look for American soccer, even though USA soccer isn't the group that put this event on. It's a bad look for our country that we can't host a world class soccer event without some kind of issue earlier in the Copa America tournament. I don't know if you saw it and you said that we're not going to talk soccer. That's not really what we're talking about. We're talking about a big sporting event that took place in this country last night. But last week, did you see there was a game in this tournament where players had to rush into the stands and they were fighting with fans because two groups of fans were fighting with each other and families were involved. So the players jumped into the crowd and started fighting with people. That's the same tournament. So it doesn't look great. It was an OK game. The late second half wasn't very interesting in the extra time. Kind of bogged down with players that seemed like they were just way too tired to be out there in the heat in Miami, but yeah, you have Argentina that wins Copa and it was a bad look. Not just I saw some video like you did of people going into areas that are supposed to like the 72 dolphins club is that is that whatever the team that was when undefeated whatever year that was that that club that was destroyed. It was destroyed. The whole thing was destroyed like they went in there and they had the best cognac and the whatever the best wine that was in there and they destroyed it. When you're going through air ducts to be able to see a sporting event, that's when it's over the top. I just want to be able to just put into your mind. Imagine the bears are playing the biggest game ever in Soldier Field and people just show up. Now, again, if you're the ticket taker, you say, OK, they're lining up before we open the gates. All right. So you would imagine those people lining up before they get into the gates. They have tickets. No, they all bum rush at the same time. Imagine that Soldier Field. Just imagine like, like, hey, we're going to push through five or six thousand people and we're going to push through. That's what we're going to do. I mean, that's scary. Also, you have to be pissed off if you are a someone who actually paid for tickets because I'm sure those tickets are those tickets are not cheap. I would imagine that so and you paid for, but then these people getting in for free Jenny Taft was reporting that people were getting to their seats. And there were people already in their seats like people who had tickets were getting to their seats. And there are people sitting there because so many people pushed through and got through that they were just in the stadium. That would be annoying. And I'll say this. I'll raise my hand. I've gone to many Chicago Bears football games and a part of why we've had this conversation in this city about a new stadium and where it should be located and what amenities should be added to a new Chicago Bears football stadium. I've gone to games on both end zones, the north and the south, where it is very difficult to get into the stadium 30, 40 minutes before kick. And you are packed in there with thousands of people, especially on the north end. There's a very narrow kind of area where everyone funnels into to get into the stadium on the south. But everyone who comes, who like walks underneath that bridge all pile up those stairs. And it's difficult to get into the stadium, especially a Packers game, a playoff game. You know, you really have to plan to get in on time. And if you're someone that's out tailgating and you've got 20 minutes until kick, you're not making kick. There's no way. And that's a part of why the need for a new football stadium, along with a bunch of other added amenities would help. Yeah. But like that, that's a, that's an annoyance in going to sports field. So you say, could you imagine? I could absolutely imagine, because I could imagine, you know, 7,000 people showing up and then trying to push through, but people with tickets, it's difficult to get through. So I can see it. Is there a sporting event that you would do this where you'd say, I'm going to be part of the flash mob and get my way into a stadium? Because that's exactly what these people did. To be able to see this particular event, they, they, they pushed through 7,000 people, pretty much at the same time, pushed their way through. They went through air ducts, air vents to be able to get the, would you ever do that? Is there a sporting event? It was like, you know what? I got to get in. No. Uh, I also, you know, I think a part of that is the television product is so good. Yes. I can justify not being at a live sporting event because I, I can see it all at home. Yes. So like, I don't, I don't have the fear of missing out. I don't have FOMO for those situations. Do you? I, I do not. And the reason why is because I've seen my share of sporting events live. And the other thing is, is that I wouldn't fit into an air duct. That's fair. That'd be a hard time for me to be able to get in there. I could slip. I could slip right through it. You could, I could not. That would be a hard time. I would, I would be like a slip inside for me. I would be the log jam in there. There, there'd be guys that are going to say, all right, are you going to get through there or not? Nope. Not going to happen. I'll go first. Yeah. Yes. I don't want to go second. You and I are breaking out. I'll, I'll go first. There's no way I'm going to, and I can throw a rope down the line and I can pull from, from my end. Get a tow truck pal. You're going to need it if you get, what did the stadium Chris Argentina, Columbia. I understand that the great game of football of soccer means a lot more, actually, a lot of countries than it is in the United States as a whole. There's no question about that. I know it means a lot. Maybe the people from Argentina and Columbia, they flew in. Maybe there's some in the Miami in that area. Yes. I'm going to go watch the game. But the point is though, is that that's an extreme. There's not one sporting event where I'd say, come on, let's go. Now listen. When I was younger, sure, you can find a backdoor, some place at Old Comiskey. You can be able, if you wanted to, you can find a place where they're doing the, the loading dock at the old Chicago State. Maybe you could do that. But there's no way that as an adult now that I'm breaking through to try to get into an event for free. I'll say this. When I was younger, I would purchase standing room only tickets to the United Center. Yeah. A lot. And I would go and I would find a spot. And you kind of walk around and sometimes you'd see an empty seat and you'd try and take it for a while. You sit down until someone shows up. Yeah. You'll see that seat weasel. But I would, I would go standing room only. Yeah. Yeah. I used to do that. Yeah. No, yeah. No shame. Used to do that. But cheaper tickets. Yeah. It was like 10 bucks. Right. It was cool. But then, you know, eventually you're standing behind the final row in the entire stadium. It's like, I'd rather be at home. Yeah, because the experience is great. Not saying that you shouldn't go to games, but I would also say this. Don't try to get in there for free with 7,000 of your favorite friends. Yeah. Like, hey, let's go. Let's go. And they push through. That's got to suck though. You paid for tickets. Someone gets in there for free. They're sitting in your seats, sir. And so it's not like security or the usher is going to say you have to get up. I'm sure that that would be disaster for them too. Exactly. I'm a man on fan trying to settle the situation, which that doesn't turn out well. Should I listen to the show? You're a whack job. Would you do this? Wait a minute. No, definitely not. Listen. I prefer to listen. Therefore, I know he's a whack job. I am a whack job. But no, I'm not sneaking into it. I don't even like sneaking down into better seats because I can't enjoy the event doing it. I'm just looking over my shoulder the entire time, like I'm not supposed to be here. Please, nobody come kick me out. Every time someone walks down the aisle, you think they're coming for your seat. Yeah. All the time. Yeah. It's like nerve whacking. Yeah. I don't want to enjoy an event like that. Every time. It's in my older age, I sometimes mistaken the aisle and the seat number, but I think I got it. Oh, got it right. Yeah. The happy with Janet Jackson, that concert on Juneteenth, like this is where we're sitting 100, 102. All right. Here we go. Seat one and two. Here we go. Nope. It's 103. Maybe I'm an idiot. On the wrong side. I always get confused on which side it's starting on. That's it. It's the wrong side. What side does it start on? Right. Right seat. Wrong side. Right. Exactly. Right. That's where we're at. Damn. Am I in the right aisle? Second. God. All right. So I don't want to be that guy, but sometimes, but there's not a sporting event that I would want to just bum rush to go into. That's just crazy to me. But that's what happened. Think about that. Argentina, Colombia, you've already paid for ticket. And someone's like, nope, I'm already here. Where's your ticket? Here's my ticket. You want to see my tickets right here? Here's my ticket right here. What are you going to do about it? We've got to talk about the bears because Chris Blake has five questions ahead for bears training camp. Don't forget Shada no Shada eight o'clock. All part of the mix on the cap and jayhood morning show. Headlines Jonathan the Chicago Cubs beat the Cardinals yesterday eight to three. Pete Crow Armstrong with two solo home runs. Just want to know Chris Bluck in for cap today. And once again, the Cubs win the day before. I'm in the chair for David Kaplan just want to point that out. The Cubs head into the all-star break at 47 and 51. The pirates beat the white Sox yesterday nine to four. The Sox are now 27 and 71. Spain beats England yesterday in the Euros. Argentina beats Columbia and Copa and Carlos Alcaras wins Wimbledon. Those are your headlines. I'm just saying that the Cubs won again a day that I'm here just pointing it out. So you're the old owl. Captain Jalen on ESPN 1000 and streaming on the ESPN Chicago Apple with you till 10 o'clock then my green bird comes in at 10. Carvera Yurco 12 to three. You get out of their heart. Minute 14 of your 15th almost stuff Kevin Hart. You get out of there. Oh no. Carvera Yurco 12 to three is it's waddling Peggy right from 230 to 630. And don't forget we have the home run Derby for you at seven o'clock right here on your home for Major League Baseball and the White Sox ESPN 1000. So here we go Chris. Now this week it's a big opportunity for you and I to get on hard knocks. It's a big opportunity here because you know how this works right. It starts off with the sunrise and the sprinklers on right. Yeah right. And so now it's a cityscape. You look at Sears Tower you look at what's happening in downtown Chicago and that sound effect J more of the dial the radio dial up and down the pouch go about and then it's going to be you and I talking about the bears something about the bear though use a sound bite as a smash cut or cap cut to Lake Forest. Yeah. And then that's how it starts. But it starts with what they're talking about on the radio. So you and I have to be sound bite ready for a hard knock so we can get on there. Oh yeah. Any reason any of us are hosting shows over the next month and a half seems like there's a lot of positioning around these parts to try and get into that clip yes of hard knocks. It seems like the only concern in this building for the next month is can we say something that's worthy of being on hard knocks. That's all that matters. What is the more valuable real estate getting on hard knocks or the Amazon Prime video pre game show where they have the little clip of radio hosts talking about the game. What's the more valuable real estate for us the Amazon absolute Amazon because I think more people are watching the live coverage of a local game than hard knocks I like both of them. I like to get on either one. Yeah, it's cool because it's there forever. Once I'm on there, it's on there forever with Amazon. I don't know if that will just go away like that those lose Amazon package and those games don't be finally remembered on YouTube. It'll just like it never happened like the package but with hard knocks it'll be there. It'll be in a box set one day when you can be able to get them all at some point. I want to be on the heritage hard knock show with the quick sound bite. I think the bears are going to be great this year. I'm just telling you right now the bears are going to play offs. I feel great about it. I want to be that guy be more you know be more directive with the the idea or the take that they got to be great, they have to be great or else exactly like leave it as a like war. Oh no, what's this radio? It's going to do. Let me tell you something if the bears don't get to the playoffs heads will roll and like forced. There's no doubt about it. Iber flew south. There's going to be questions about polls. The whole thing. They got to get to the playoffs. It's got to happen this year or heads will roll and then cut to Matt Iber flew starting his morning. That's right. He's like. Right? He started his day. Worrying over a binder. The city's on fire and he's having a quiet morning up in the northern suburbs getting ready for his first practice. It's you and I with on this camera right here one of our YouTube Twitch cameras and then there's shade. Let me tell you what appearing through the glass right there. It's like and you shake you and putting it yep like that and we're all in the in the video. We're all up in the video. Perfect. That's how you start hard. Then you get leave Schreiber after we have a how much pressure is Eber flew thunder and you can leave Schreiber with the delivery of does Eber flus feel the pressure and he's just sitting his coffee. That's it. J more right there. See that you can see the sunrise there is you can see the sprinklers on the you know on the lawn. The city of Chicago. Yes. And for their football excellence great history rich past. But now a new generation hits the field. I'm telling you right now. I'm telling you right. There's every blue thing. If it doesn't work out for not in the playoffs. I'm telling you he's going to be fired. It's a big spot for the Chicago Bears. We're on hard not. It's a good schedule. We play the Titans. I cannot wait bears to the playoffs down the Packers. Here come the Bears. That's what you want. Yeah. The Chicago Bears are trash. You get out of there. I'm telling you right now. That's all anyone cares about. Yeah. I mean I don't know if our listeners care about this but that in these walls is it this is the only thing that the only thing that matters is can you cut a clip. Yeah. That gets featured on hard not. I can't wait till Sylvie's back from vacation and we get the the social media video of Sylvie side stepping his way in front of a hard knocks camera right. I can't wait. So that's what I'm looking forward to that because that's going to be fun because for the first time the Chicago Bears on hard knocks well it's going to be featured. It's going to be great. You know I know that's exciting. I don't want to brag too much but have you guys seen the video features on the Chicago Bears website the 19 20 football drive. Yes. Chris Block was featured in the one where they draft Caleb Williams and Roma Dunes. Yeah. I don't know if you guys know this. They use the audio clip of the interview up doll and I had with Caleb to welcome him to Chicago. So he's like getting off the plane entering house hall and it's the clip of we now go to Caleb Williams number one pick for the Chicago Bears welcome to Chicago Caleb. Well that's exactly the episode. Yeah. You can't appeal a bad commerce got you in that spot. So good for you. What to say. That's the reason why you got that. That's over seconds off your 15 minutes. Was it worth it? Yeah. I mean listen. That was the thing me right. It was. It was. Hey listen technology failed us all that day. I was outstanding. Someone had to be here. Danny why is Chris in the video? Yeah. Yeah. So that's the reason why. That's a nightmare. That's nightmare. You're right there. I know. I know. The quarterback of the wide receiver like the future of the Bears and unfortunately the mics went out. The whole system went out. So listen. You're the. That was. That was a rough day. Good team. That was rough. Not me. Like the whole thing. That was rough. Yeah. There was like. There was like. All right. We don't have to get into. There's like 45 minutes of like we we don't have we can't do any. Black adult. Just get in there. Yeah. Just just sit in the studio. Which is awesome. We can't do anything else right now. At least we got them. That's. That's the great thing. Yeah. You do have your five questions ahead of Bears Training Camp. I do. We'll get that next on Captain Jay Hood. Follow Chicago's home for sports on Twitch at ESPN 1000 Chicago. Captain Jay Hood are back on Chicago's home for sports. ESPN Chicago. Shout out. No shot comes to a eight o'clock right here on Captain Jay Hood. A few Rogers with the latest on the Cubs and Sox and all star week. We'll hear from Jesse at eight thirty five. But right now Jay Moore we got changed the mood because Chris has five big questions ahead of Bears Training Camp. Here's Chris Black Chris. All right Jonathan. So tomorrow the rookies report for the Chicago Bears. Before we get to the five questions. Roma Dunes. And Caleb Williams. Will they be there tomorrow? Will they be signed at this moment? Neither are signed to their rookie deals. There's hard knocks here. Yeah, I assume so. Okay, then they will be signed because it's for the cameras. That's the only reason they have yet to sign. Because they'll be in front of the cameras. Absolutely. It's a television product. Okay. And so that when they will sign in front of the cameras and a big oak table and they will sign side by side and that'll be all it'll be for hard knocks I believe. We are within twenty four hours now of this taking place. But something that you want to listen to ESPN 1000 throughout the day and then also tomorrow to make sure that the two prized rookies are there ready to go day one. I think it's super important that that takes place. All right. Here's my five questions for you Jonathan Hood as we head into training camp for the Chicago Bears. Number five. Does Vailus Jones Jr. need a great camp to make the team? I would say he does need a great camp. I just think that when I met when it was. I believe those polls that say it's going to be very difficult to make this team. That means that there's going to be more competition than we know. And so I think that means for Vailus Jones to as you recall I did not like to draft pick at the time. I just thought there was a lot of training on that those tires. There might be a special set of plays for him with this offense with Caleb Williams but I think there should be strong competition because he can't help you in the receiving game and you're just handing it off to him and he's just kind of okay in special teams. I think you can upgrade in that spot. I know okay as the fifth wide receiver I don't know if that's going to cut it on a roster like this. Number four. Will Nate Davis hold on to the starting right guard job or will it be Ryan Bates that takes over that position throughout training camp? Another big competition. They have circles here on the depth chart. Questions about Nate Davis last year we find out there was personal issues with this year. I think it's a big year for Nate Davis a guy that was solid with Tennessee. Next year I thought that he when he was healthy was solid. I think that it should be a battle between Davis and Bates. I think Davis finds a way to win out veterans matter. I think that Davis will find a way to stay on this roster. You guys show up. He's got a player. Number three. Right? Yes. He's got up here. Number three. Will we notice a difference in Shane Waldron's offense throughout camp? Is it something like as the days go by? Will we say and see reports that it's noticeably different now that the Bears have a new offensive coordinator? I think we will see some new wrinkles than what we saw in the previous couple of years under Justin Fields. And the reason why that you will, Chris, is because looking at what you have at running back with DeAndre Swift, a veteran, right, who also could be part of your passing game. You have a cold cut. You have cold commit and Gerald Everett as tight ends. You have three or four wide receivers you can go to. I really believe that it could be some exotic plays to just try to keep Kenneth Williams comfortable until he can really be able to let it lose moving forward throughout the season. I think he's got enough veteran weapons to help him. All right. What's next? Number two. Number two. Kim, the Chicago Bears. This is number two on the list. Can the Chicago Bears find help on the edge from within the roster? Could it be to Marcus Walker, Dominic Robinson, Austin Booker, does someone rise up to this position throughout camp where we say, all right, the Bears don't need to go out and sign another edge rusher defensively. They have money to do so if they want to. You would hope that internally that they could be able to build from within. I like to see what's next for Austin Booker. Could he be on the left side? Could Montes put on the right side because pressure at the quarterback position is paramount. We saw it toward the end of the season last year. The Bears actually got to the quarterback and I thought that was really good. But don't you think a veteran on that other side, someone that has skins on the wall on that left side would be good for this Bears defense as solidify what they have. Yeah, absolutely. Tom Thare was on the show last week. I think when Captain Abdullah were in and Tom Thare was saying that he's looking for Robinson to really show up in and to maybe take that spot because from what Thare was saying that Robinson really worked on his body and he looks like a kid that's ready to go as they head into camp. So I think that's going to be the second biggest question as we kind of travel through training camp and as we get to number one, number one. How much progress do you expect to see from Caleb Williams throughout his first training camp? You want a number? Well, this is the way I phrase it, obviously each and every day as we enter training camp and as we go through the fall here, the story about the quarterback will be number one. He's not going to be a top five quarterback next week. But as we get closer towards the first game of the season against the Titans, how much progress do you expect to hear about and to see throughout the preseason games and throughout camp to get to that point? Like what are you expecting him to have like a baseline to start with as we start week one of the NFL season? The baseline is for him to be able to call out the plays, one, I know that just seems elementary but they have to do that USC, two is to be able to get the ball in the shotgun or under center and be able to flourish at both. Again, you watch him at USC, there's some adjustments that has to be made from college of the pros. There's a lot of things he didn't do. He's got to do now with the Bears. So taking care of the football is another thing that's also very key. So I just think that just the basics for him to be able to look over to the sideline and to go, there's no placard, man. There's no face of black and, you know, a bucky beaver and a flower and Fred Flintstone. No, you don't have that, man. Clap. Yeah. You don't have that. You actually have to be able to have command in the huddle and they're working on that. The basics first, Chris, before we talk about 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns, yeah, work on the process and then have a clean camp. That's what I'm looking for. Like, we don't need to see him be a star on day one. Keep the, keep the star plays in your back pocket. Let's just get through everything. Make sure you understand the process and don't turn the football over in camp. Oh, the Flintstone play. Got it. Yeah. The placard to have Fred Flintstone on it. No, you got to be able to have command. It's different. What are the five questions I have for you heading into training camp? There's a few things I'd like to go over with you with those questions, especially on that offensive line. We'll get into it as we move forward here. But first, shot or no shot. That's in two minutes on the Captain Jay good morning show.
