Cap Jalen Johnson got a chance to speak to the media. Different outlets Colin Cowler is on Jim Rome rack him. He was there and spoke highly about the bears. You know, it's funny. We just talked 24 hours ago about Jalen Johnson is important to the team. Yeah, we call him potentially the most important player of the team non quarterback. Some thoughts from Jalen Johnson regarding Caleb Williams and how he's blending in with the Chicago Bears. I mean, he blends in well. I think that's the, that was one of the misconceptions for me and I know even getting caught up in people trying to label him as Hollywood and being all these things. It's like, no, he just is who he is. He's a confident guy in itself on the field off the field. I think it's one of those things where he's very secure in who he is. He's very confident and knows the work that he puts into be able to have that confidence and at the end of the day, I mean, he's a husband, winner, he's the guy that got drafted number one. So I don't feel like he shouldn't have confidence at the end of the day. I think it's one of those things that he embraces and he walks in who he is as a player, who he is as a man. I think that's something that seeing him in person and he blended in right away with the locker room with the guys and that's only going to continue to grow. But I think he's came in and handled everything perfectly, just come in and work in coming in and dealing with the guys often. You can see everything coming together, how it's supposed to be. Cap also, Jalen Johnson looks back at his town with the Bears. Again, he's only been with the team for a few years. He thinks right now is the best roster that the Bears have had since he's been with the team. Not in the face too much. Because I think for me, I've always done that. I've always done things the right way. I've always had a good attitude and worked hard. I mean, that's just who I am. So I feel like no matter kind of where I am or what season I'm in, whether it's under a contract season or already having one and just being able to play free. I feel like I am who I am and I want to continue to be that guy in the locker room that people can come to and talk to and that I can continue to lead the guys around me in the locker room. And then also, I'm going to go out on the field and do what I'm supposed to do and play the game at a high level. So I mean, I'm just looking forward to that. I'm really looking forward to winning. I think that's my biggest focus right now or has always been my biggest focus, but even more now actually, he'd been able to, I can say having one of the best roster that I've had since being with the Bears. And I think kind of the way that we're yelling together, the offense is coming together, the defense is coming together, I thought we can really do something special and have a true opportunity. So I think for me right now, I think my biggest focus is just winning, even with the guys, just everything we do is if I want to consistent greatness, like I said, in my, in my press conference, I got to be everybody's mentality this season is really just consistent greatness because we know we have greatness in our, in our locker room, but we got to be consistent in them. Alan Johnson talking to Jim Roma about that and you heard what he said, Cap, he talked about the best locker room that he's been with with the Chicago Bears talks about how the focus is winning. Now, again, part of that winning formula is to be able to have the wide receiver and quarterback on the same page, the two rookies in particular, Caleb Williams and Roma Dune say they're still unsigned by the Chicago Bears. Now, again, what you don't want Cap is any controversy, any questions about your team. Everything's been harmonious for a while here with the Bears because of everything they done in the draft, the process they went through, the free agency, how they added on. You don't want to have any controversy, they're still unsigned. I have a feeling that they're waiting for the hard knocks cameras to come in to watch them sign. However, if they're not, it's like, well, Camp's opening pretty soon. You were the first one to say they'll have it done when the cameras are rolling. Now, Rome Adunze is going to be on the field, that Soldier field Sunday, I believe. There's a Big Ten charity run kind of kicking off football training camps, everything. And he's now from the Big Ten school, Washington, even though he didn't play in the Big Ten. But he's going to be there. He's a personality, he's a good dude, the whole deal. I think you're right. I think you are absolutely right. Does not seem like anyone I've talked to up there is concerned at all about getting these two dudes signed. Now, if there was panic, you know whether it be Biggs or whoever, somebody, Courtney, they would be locked in going, okay, there's a little bit of concern here that they're not going to get this done and they're going to start training camp without the rookies. I don't hear that there's any of that. So I think you're under something. I just think that, Shay, when it comes to television, and since Hard Knocks is going to be there, what a better place to have them both sit side by side or separately at the big table to officially sign. I think that if Hard Knocks is not here, we're not talking about this, that because of the due diligence of the Chicago Bears, because of Ryan Polls, I'm not saying that he's aches as a general manager because all this stuff has to still work out. I know people are excited about the Bears, but again, it comes down to me, wins and losses. Are you growing as a franchise? Are you growing as a team? Are you a perennial playoff team? How close are you to the Super Bowl? All those questions are floating my head when I think about the Bears or any of our teams. I think if Hard Knocks is not here, I think that this is already done. I do because it's the pageantry of it all. My only question would be the Bears have been so resistant to Hard Knocks in the past. It's like a huge change in the way they approach business to basically turn the signing of these deals into a PR stunt. They could just as easily get their own cameras in and have the video of Caleb and Adunse signing the paperwork and throwing on their YouTube, 1920 football drive. That would be effectively the same deal. I get what you're saying, it's interesting for sure, the idea that, "Well, the morning of training camp, the Hard Knocks cameras will be here, will sit you down in front of the HBO people, I have you signing the paperwork, it'll be a great moment on the show for nationally." But it just seems odd to me that they would allow Hard Knocks after being so resistant for so long, even having it. Whoa, whoa, whoa! Ryan Pauls, is it resistant at all? He loves it. I'm not saying he, but you're making this call. You get the broader point I'm making is that as an organization, they've been resistant to even being aligned with Hard Knocks to now say, "Well, we're going to hold the contract signing just for the HBO cameras," would be a huge shift. I'm not saying it's impossible, I think it's interesting. Yeah, I'm not with you that it would be a huge shift simply because Paul's and his staff, they're happy that those cameras are there. They want the league to know, "Wow, stuff's different in Chicago. That organization has completely done a 180, 180, I think Ryan Pauls and Ian Cunningham and Matty, they're all in. The old school, George and Kevin, whatever, and I don't think Kevin's as down on it as George. George, get your steps in and be the owner. His opinion is irrelevant to when the football side wants to do something, and George has said that. But I'm a fan, I'm not a football evaluator. Ryan Pauls thinks this is a great thing, so he's going to- I'm just a fan, I'm not a football evaluator. Thank you, George. So I think Ryan is absolutely, if it makes sense, he's not just going to roll over and go, "Have that at Hard Knocks, there's my board for the next four drafts, here's all my file." No, but if he feels that it's something that it's important, and guess what, this makes great TV for our city and our fan base and the rest of the league, I don't think he has a problem with it. You just don't want to have the story into Hard Knocks, and you can see it, guys, because we've all watched it. The sprinklers are on, the sprinklers are on the grass. It is now a rookie day, all the rookies are there, and yet the star quarterback and wide receiver has not signed yet. That one could be a story on Hard Knocks, you don't want that to be, because everything's been harmonious so far. You don't want that to be, "Hey, Ken Williams, and signing autographs with the fans," and he's happy, "Go Lucky," and all that. But yet, the rookie quarterback is not signed. You don't want that, right? Forget Hard Knocks, Woody, I don't want to do that show next week, like that's a nightmare, because we have been so drama-free in this offseason with the Bears, that now we're up in the doorstep of training camp, and the reports are coming out. They're still unsigned. Everybody's talking about it. Chefter sounded like it's a non-issue, but it is an uncertainty. If these two miss a practice, cap's going to hit the roof. We'll all hit the roof collectively. You don't want that. As everything has been moving along swimmingly, you don't want that. And it's in the back of your mind, but for me, I always side on performative, always side on entertainment. And because the cameras are there, what a better way to be able to showcase your brand new quarterback and wide receiver by saying, "We've been signed all along, but we want to do it in front of everybody." Yeah, it'd be amazing. And that's the hope. And that's me being on the positive side of it, Cap, saying, "Let's make sure that everyone sees in the shows how we embrace these two," because you and I have gone through the sports wars of teams not signing rookies and hold outs and all that, you don't want that. And I don't think that. And by the way, if you're Caleb Williams, you don't want to feed into the narrative of you being a malcontent for some. Totally agree. Because you know, that's the thing that it's still lingering. It's not on our phone lines as much, but it's still out there like this guy wants to take a piece of the team, his dad's going to be a helicopter dad. All this BS that we've heard before Justin Fields was traded. All this stuff of what Caleb Williams is when he really isn't. Correct. So, yeah, if we wake up and we're like, "Oh, wow, it is two weeks in the camp and they're not there yet." Yeah, I'm going to hit the roof as everyone else. That's a problem. But that's not going to happen. At least, I don't believe it will, unless you've heard something different. I am hearing it will not happen, so, yeah. Hello? Hello? Who's this? Who's this? This is Chicago Bears, man. How you doing? I'm good. I'm good. They told me to hold it for five minutes. I told everyone I've been holding it for a month. Just like the best part, you just clipped it where he goes, five months. And you and I were in lockstep on this. They knew in November they were moving on from Justin. That's a fact. They just had to do their homework. Yes. Now, if something turned up in a background check, then they might have drafted Jayden Daniels or Drake. They were moving on from Justin last November. That was sealed. And the cult went, "What?" Oh, yeah. And now, now what? What's the latest in Pittsburgh? I haven't heard anything. See? That's what's happening. By the way, it's funny that you mentioned that Dunes A and the Big Ten. Shay, I don't know if you've, I know so early you haven't been looking at it. I've just looked at it for the first time. Just the realignment of the college football teams. These conferences look like a CBS receipt. Holy smokes. Have you seen this? It's ridiculous. Have you seen this? This fills up a whole screen, the Big Ten conference of how many teams is there. That is unbelievable. Yeah. Go look at the odds boards cap right off. All that is the Big Ten. It is blown my mind because this is the time every season that every year that I start doing like my work for betting college football and I'll go through the odds boards for winning conferences. You've got to scroll a mile to get through all these teams. I mean, it's absurd. It's crazy. What is it now? It's 18 teams in the Big Ten? Yes. It's ridiculous. U-C-L-A and U-S-C in Washington and... In Oregon. Yeah. It's unbelievable. Man. I'm going to get to watch the Oregon Ducks one day at Northwestern. Like... Yeah. No, yeah. That's going to happen. Who does Northwestern have at home this year? Are you going to go to any games? I might catch a game if the right opponent is here. I like the couch for football. All right. Well, I mean, the first three you won't go to because it's Miami, Ohio. No. Duke. Illinois. No. Okay. They'll be against Indiana. That's on October 5th. Nope. They'll be against Wisconsin on October 19th. No. I'll be out of town. Go with Randy Merkin. You can go check them out against Ohio State on November 16th. That's my birthday weekend. Yeah. I might do that. And Illinois on November 30th. That's it? Yep. Cat. They're in Seattle at Washington Conference Game, Wildcats, Huskies. When? October 21st. Go. Sailgating. Road trip. My son lives. Just moved from Portland, Oregon, Washington border. Maybe he and Maggie want to go Mindy and I'll fly out and go catch a little sailgating. Washington will beat the brakes off into Northwestern. I don't know. Washington is bad. They've lost a lot. They lost their head coach, their quarterback, their wide receivers. Travel. Tight ends. Tired. I think that's the travel makes a difference. Beat the brakes off of them. Good stuff, man. I would like, whatever it is, that the Oregon Ducks are in Evanston. That'd be cool. That'd be fun. That'd be fun. So with only four days until Ricky's report, are you? And all concern, Caleb and Dunes, they are unsigned. And again, for me, I'm holding out hope cap that this will be done sooner than later. You don't want controversy. Everything's been going well for the Chicago Bears. You just don't want this to be a major story. Now, it's bubbling to the surface now. We brought it up. It's bubbling the surface on some blogs, but I think that it will get done. If we know, if we trust in Ryan polls, and I think you were the first to say in Ryan polls, we trust, then it should be taken care of. Yeah, I believe it will be taken care of. I'm not concerned until it's time to be concerned. As I told my kids, you don't worry until you see me worry. Okay? We're good. Don't worry. No, unless the Cubs are not playing well, don't forget about that. I don't worry. I just get angry. I'm not in their front office where they calm down. No, I'm a passionate fan. I am. All right. Yes. We're all passionate. Yes. Yes. Yes. I think you're in this category, but I won't speak for you. I will say things others won't. Correct. That would be hurt. Have you listened to my career? Right. You'll do the same thing. And I'll, you know, hear so and so is mad at you. Oh, okay. Whatever. Just because I told the truth. Yeah. So no question. We'll see. Just get it done tonight. Wake up. Get a cup of coffee and find a way to win a damn baseball game tonight. Are you living your best life? Some say on social media, you're living their best life. Are you living your best life? This guy says he is. I don't believe him. We'll talk about that next on Captain Jay Hood. It's a Captain Jay Good morning show on ESPN 1000 and we are streaming on the ESPN Chicago app with you till 10 o'clock. The Mike Greenberg comes in at 10 followed by Carmine Yurko at 12. It'll be Tom Waddle and he will team with Peggy from 236 30 right into white Sox baseballs. They take on the pirates. They have their YouTube show YouTube.com look for black and up dollar on YouTube or on the ESPN Chicago app cap on social media. Many people put up a a picture or video of them living their best life. Whether it's true or untrue, say you probably get to happen this more when it comes to Instagram or these. I mean, it's like I'm living my best life. They'll have some Maya Angelou quote out there making it seem like that their life is just spectacular. Like it's grand. They'll put it out there. The best sunset of my life, the best sunrise of my life, the best restaurant, the best food of ever eaten, all this stuff, right? They put it up there as an attraction to their social media. Well, are you familiar with Jordan Hudson cap? Jordan Hudson, J.O.R.D.O.N. Hudson. That is the girlfriend of Bill Belichick. Hudson is 23 and Bill Belichick is 72. And Bill Belichick, according to page six, is quote, living his best life. As a matter of fact, you can see Bill on social media with his 23 year old girlfriend. And they have travels. Matter of fact, over the summer, they've spent time in Nantucket, as a matter of fact, she's moved in cap. Wow. She's moved in. Do you remember the video last season when they set a picture or maybe a video of Belichick like in doing the walk of shame, leaving someone's apartment at like six in the morning? Shirtless? Shirtless. Yes. That was hers. Yeah, the ring doorbell camera. Right. Yes. They're also spotted wearing matching rings while vacationing in Nantucket. Okay. Cap, they're almost, they're 50 years apart. Correct. She's 23 going on 24 and Bill is 72. And he says that there's more to life than just football. All we've known from Bill Belichick is football. Correct. All we've known is football. And now it's 72. He's like, well, there's a lot more out here. Okay. And now he's going to be on inside the NFL. We talked about. So the door closed on him twice with the Atlanta Falcons. He interviewed twice. No thanks, even though he won all these rings and no backwards or forwards football. Now we don't want you. And by the way, no room in the in on other jobs as well. Correct. Name not hot in the streets after he was fired part of ways, however you want to say, no longer with the Patriots, nobody wanted him. A football guru. You're correct. So let me ask you a question. Can you say you're living your best life cap after football with his 23, 24 year old? I mean, really living your best life. To me, that's a facade. Is it really his best life? Again, I'm not walking in his shoes. I've been married to the same woman for now over 20 years, been with her 25. And if God forbid I wasn't with her now, something God forbid had happened, I would not be dating a 23 or 24 year old. I would not. Like, I don't know what you talk about what you have in common. I mean, I think it's a different kind of conversation. I mean, Bill knows football, not saying that he doesn't have other things on his mind. I'm just saying like, can you say you're living your best life now? He says there's more to life than football. Okay. Might be. That's agreed. What? I agree with that. Your best life there, or is this just, you know, just having a fun, hot summer? Right. Like, I couldn't date a 23 year old cap. Me either. Me either. I could not. I could not do it, but I don't know how 23 year old is dating a 72 year old. And my question would be if Bill Belichick was a guy who ran the Chick-fil-A over there at age 72 and was making 90 grand a year, is she sitting there with him? I'm not so sure. Bill Belichick, the guy that was making 18 million a year and lives the life of luxury. And again, I don't know her. She may be completely head over heels in love with him, or if she head over heels in love with the money and the prestige and the fun and all that. I don't know. I couldn't date a 24 year old at age and I'm 63. Yeah. Not. Is this their limited? Is he living his best life? You've covered Bill Belichick for a long time, Shay. You're been a fan of the Patriots team. It just seems interesting that first of all, could not get a job in the NFL again as a head coach. That says a lot. And now this, it is insane. I don't understand it, but I stick with my original take on this. Belichick's got Riz. Belichick pulled this off. He's got the charisma. We're going to see the best version of him on inside the NFL. Yes. I agree. He's got Riz and he's in a happy place. I'm thrilled for the man. I don't understand. It's bizarre. You said he has Riz. You said he had Riz. My thing is, is Riz his bank book? Because he? Yeah. I want an, I don't believe she's beautiful. Yeah. I don't believe that she would be with him. But he was the manager of the Whit Hotel over there. I don't believe it. But they seem to be enjoying themselves. Kept it on vacation. He's got hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank. They're seen riding bikes down the road on the, on the pathways in Nantucket. That's why I set this up by asking you whether or not they, is this an Instagram love, a TikTok love, or a relationship in which they are living their best life just on the screen. But is it really, is it real? Listen, man. When we find out that the shirtless ring doorbell video of fellow check was at her place, they're living their best life. Is he? I, that's a fling shape. Yeah. But flings are great. Are they not? I wouldn't know. It's been a while. But think about, think about the best teen fling or whatever that you had. That's a great moment in life. You get it. It's like the honeymoon phase forever. It, that, that sounds awesome. Yeah. God bless you. You would be concerned though, if you dated someone that was that age, you would wonder if she's just trying to get into your money. Or is it real? You'd want to know. No question about it. No question about it, unless you're going in with the same thought, I'm just going to ride this as long as I can until I fall off. That's it. Or until it falls off. Or did, but do you even care? Like at that point, if it's like, Hey, real enough for me, I need more depth in the relationship. I do. Like it's great for a few nigh, oh, we went to Mexico and had seven amazing nights. You got to live life eventually. But if you do you, if you're 72 years old and you've made your millions and you've got limited time left, just live those seven days forever. And if God forbid at age 74, he's got a serious health issue. Yeah. And is she going to shepherd him through? Like he's got kids. His kids live their lives. Your significant other, like God forbid if something ever happened to me, I trust that my wife would shepherd me through the process. She'd talk to the doctors and do whatever it is. My wife would be involved. Is she? That's the question. I just want to know for Bill, I mean, even if she's taking some of his money, if that's the case cap, Bill's smart enough to know I'm not going to let her just rob me blind because he's still with this. Not like he's at all. That's 72. Correct. Wow. Why is there 11 million? The Otani situation, all of a sudden there's money out of the account, who's Bentley out there? Oh, that's mine, 72 and 23. I saved my money from babysitting. I bought a Bentley. And the question still stands in my mind about like the parents of Ms. Hudson. The parents say you're the father of Jordan Hudson. What are you saying? Right. What would you say? Right. And like, hey, can we have dinner with my parents tonight? They're going to be in town. Sure. And the dad, how old is her dad? 45? Sure. And you're 72. Apparently like Jordan Hudson, I guess their family's from the region. Hey, guess who's smashing my daughter? Dollar check. Come on in, Bill. How are you? I mean, I don't think it's one of these things. What are you doing with my daughter? I think that that guy might be a Patriots fan. So it's okay. Wait, Justin, does this sound bizarre to you? This is bizarre. This is bizarre. 72 and 23. What do you think that Jordan Hudson's in it for? Yeah. Do you think they're living their best life? It's for the money. It's it's for the money. That's the first thing you think of, right? Like, I mean, it's out of bounds, man, out of bounds foul play, James and New Lennox on Captain Jay Hood. Hey, James. Hey guys. How you doing? Good job there. James. How you doing, man? I'm doing all right. I'm not in my I'm not in my 70s, but I am in my mid 40s, just turned 44. If if I'm with a, you know, mid to early 20s female, I'm not meeting any fathers, I'm not dating, you know, it's mostly a tender thing, but there are definitely 20 year olds that are into older guys, like, I could definitely confirm it. He's ancient. He is. When, before. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not ancient. No. I'm done. I'm not my prime, but like, you know, you're a young man. I'm telling a bell check. You are tough. Spry man. I know that tough. Yeah. Yum. I was a little jealous camp that I can't remember who it was, but the other day you were like, Oh, yeah, I want to I want to go have a drink with that guy, like you said that to me too. And like I'm invited to the house to stay over and stuff. And you know, it hasn't happened yet, but you know, it's just this guy taking my spot with you. Who did I ask Taylor and Hyde Park? Oh, Taylor and Hyde Park. I said I wanted to talk hoop with Taylor. Yes. Yeah. If you got picked for me and Taylor, who's going to be you know, I'm going you all the time. What about Taylor? I'll tell him the same thing. The Friday folder. The three of us will get together. The Friday folders next on Cap and Jalen, because it's fine. It's time for the Friday folder. I mean, on the cap and Jhood show. It's a Friday folder here on the cap and Jhood Morning Show. It's items that we missed all week because cap couldn't stop talking as we go to the Friday folder brought to you by get your own lines. That's my line. The Friday folder brought to you by Lumal Matty's. It's a Friday. Get your deep dish fixed by ordering online for carry out delivery. Dine in Lumal Matty's is Chicago's legendary deep dish. Today I'm featuring the Chris Black special. That would be the low fat cheese, not because he wants to go low fat because he likes to taste better. He also gets it uncut. He goes pepperoni with the butter crust. Here's. Snorling. See what I mean? All right, we start with this story. A man Fred Brunner is suing a Las Vegas stripper for $38 million after he found out that surprisingly they weren't in an exclusive relationship after all. He says he spent mountains of money on her, bought her a house, bought her all types of things, and then discovered she was in another relationship the entire time. So he's suing her for $38 million. That's the worst. When the guy believes that the stripper is his girlfriend and that they should be together, it's momentary. It's not it's not relationship. It's just a transaction correct. So a stripper who you think you're exclusive with her job is to get as much money out of your wallet and into her G string. I mean, what are we doing here? Yeah, 38 and a half million. He's suing her for. Can you imagine that? That how much did she take him for? Snorling. 10. She took $3 million from him, collected over 3 million, even gave some of that money to her boyfriend. That would be lapped out of court. And she didn't steal the money. He gave it to her during all their. Correct. Like I said, he bought her a home that if this gets in front of a judge, that judge is going to look down his glasses. I can see it. Glasses perched on the end of the nose. Judge looking down his glasses at the guy. You're telling me you gave this woman $3 million willingly and you're suing her. Please, please, please let this be on Judge Mathis. Right. You sir are an amora. You're a crackhead. Have a good day. Get out. Dismiss. In the next case, it's for $200. Simple property dispute. Here's shade. Norley hoodie. I need you to explain something for me. Just what the hell is going on down in Athens, Georgia with your football program? Two more reckless driving charges, more because all this team does is speed. And I'm not talking about drugs. I'm talking about their cars. You know what, man? This is a major, major issue. And if I'm the athletic director, I don't care how many championships that Kirby Smart is brought to the team. At some point, the coach has to be able to reign this in. It's embarrassing and it's dangerous. I mean, it's embarrassing for me as a Georgia fan to talk about this, but the bottom line is this is life and death. Correct. You're out there and you're drunk and driving. Hey, you have enough NIL money to be able to get Uber, Lyft, Limo, a special car. Georgia can have a program of a car service. The idea that this keeps happening, the idea that this keeps happening cap is just insane. It's not good at all. It's unsafe for the program. If I was the president of the university, the only way to stop this is to go right to Kirby and go, here's the deal. It happens again, I'm suspending you. It's your program. Another guy gets a DUI, you're suspended for the first game. You get two of them, I'll suspend you for the whole season. I don't care. This is life and death. And I guarantee you, other than idiot maniac fans, the rest of the general public down there would be like, thank goodness. Yes. Now, here's the thing. I'm not sure I'm saying that to the team. I'm enforcing this because I don't want one of these guys. I hate coach, so I'm going to get arrested so he can be off the team for a day, because people are just dumb that way. Oh, coach can get suspended if I found if I'm found drunk and driving, get them off the team. No, I think that that's something that should be put in place. I don't know what kind of parameters that Kirby Smart has in his contract, but the idea that this keeps happening, where again, lives are at stake. The player's lives with someone else's life too. Correct. That can't. It's beyond absurd now. It's like four or five cases that I know of that's happened with my program in Georgia. It's terrible. Aren't we at a point where now that the teams or the schools rather have salary caps basically afforded to them in starting in 2025, they'll have a $25 million salary caps? Couldn't you potentially sign a player to a contract that explicitly states we're going to pay you X amount of dollars? We're going to make you worth your play. You cannot own a car. Period. That's fine. Sign or don't? Yeah. You could do that. You could do that. I'm very beyond disappointed at my college that that's happening that way cap. Horrible. Yeah. It's horrible. All right, Jay, what else do we have? Today hoodie is National French Fry Day. I have seen this everywhere. For me, the McDonald's French Fry is the gold standard of fast food fries. I want to know for you. Is that the best fast food French fry? By far, especially when it stays warm or hot, it is the king of the French fries. No question about that. Portillos is right there with it. I was going to say Portillos. That's a good one, Cap. Portillos has amazing, amazing fries. Is that him on the mike saying that? That is me on the mike. The cheesy fries. Mm. All right. Stop it. I'm not a cheese fries guy. I'm just a regular fry guy with salt. I don't like seasoned fries. I don't like curly, cute fries. Just regular, basic fries. But McDonald's is right there. McDonald's is the king of all the fries, yes. I'm also a, you know, the kind of fry like the white castle fry where it's a crinkle cut. Crinkle cut. I like crinkle cut fries. I like that. The windy's fry. Not bad. It's got better. In a pinch. Not bad. I'm here to tell you. They're always oversold. Depends on where you go. Depends on what community you go to. Sometimes they do on purpose. Just to get the blood pressure. Wow. I don't need help with that. So for me, yeah, I think McDonald's is the top top of the top and it comes to the fries couch right there. It's pretty good, man. Where's the Paul Skeens of a fries? Oh, like fresh on the block and up and coming. I don't know, man. I feel like they're all stapled classics. I will tell you, it's not fast food. The best fry I've had. There's either Chicago cut. Their fries are insane. Carsten's ribs. Incredible steak fries. Dean. Yeah, downtown Dean. His place. It's going to be an acquired taste. It could be a lot. The steak fry. A lot of one time. Yeah, it's good though. Especially skin on steak fries like that. Yeah. Thick. So good. By the way, side bar may I approach in the middle, see, this is why we can't get through stuff. See? We ended up denied. We're in the middle of the Friday folder. Wow. That's right. That's why God made 950. We wanted to make sure we had time for this. The Gladiator 2 trailer was released. A sequel to the classic Russell Crowe Gladiator featuring Paul Mascal and some others. Denzel Washington is in the movie. They have a water battle in the Coliseum. Looks fantastic. Bad movie. Gladiator? Yeah, I didn't like that movie. I can't decide whether I want to ignore that or make that the rest of this question. I was going to ask, what movie you desperately want a sequel were in the legacy sequel period of film. There's another horrible movie that everyone loved. Dances with buffal. Dances with not buffaloes. Wolves. Dances with wolves. I didn't care about the answers with wolves, but calling Gladiator horrible is ridiculous. I didn't say horrible. It wasn't great. It was not entertaining. Oh, so you are not entertained. I was not entertained by that movie. Have you seen Gladiator? I have seen it. Yes. It's a classic. It is. It is a classic movie. Well, okay. It is. I'm definitive on that. There's no question. I didn't just. I thought that would be right up Cap's alley. Yes. Didn't like it. I'm going with just, I'm going Monster's Inc. Ooh. Isn't there Monster's University? Does that count as a sequel? Oh, sure. What is that? Pixar movie. Yeah. Yes. Cap. What do you need a sequel for? Tommy Boy. Top Don Maverick too. I don't think they can do a Tommy Boy sequel. Why not? How's Calihan Otto doing? The main character is dead. Cross them off then. David Spade's still alive. He takes over. No one wants to see that. Yeah. Spade. I'm sorry. He's a funny guy to be with him. In 2002, nobody's going to see David Spade. Hey, man, I'm going to check out this movie. Who stars it? David Spade. Is it on VHS? Put a kind of funny guy with him. David Spade, direct to Netflix. That thing's not touching a movie theater. David Spade. That's the best. No one's going to see that. I'm on draft day. No. How about they just- How about they just- How about they just- I want a sequel. I want them to make draft day but do it good this time. That's pretty funny. That's pretty funny. That's- Why can't we get Anchorman 2? We got Anchorman 2. I mean a good one. Well- All right. Coming up. We will have Tracy Butler. She actually stands by in the weather center. Hey, by the way. Just one minute. Right. Oh my God. You're cutting to Tracy's time. At one percent. Hit the button. Get the button. That looks like a relationship. A true smashing grab. Yeah. Yes, it's boring but it's a sport. Oh. Whatever. It's not boring. Okay, then you're boring. All right. Cat, what do you think of that? Top five rappers of all time. Let's see. Notorious. Yeah. There's Diddy. What's that? Let's leave Diddy out of this. Yes, please do. No Diddy please. Leave him out. Leave him out of this. Why? Because he's got troubles. I'm trying to think of other rappers that would be at the top of the list. Fiddy Cent. What's his name? What's his name? What's his name? Fiddy? Is that the name? Fiddy? Yeah. Not 50. Oh, it's not? Okay. Lil Wayne. I'm learning about culture every day. Go ahead. Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne. The list. Yeah. Tell us about Nas. Give us a couple of his favorite, your favorite albums. I couldn't help you. No, but you mentioned them. You just, you stuck your beak in there. My favorite? How about Snoop? Well, that's an OG Hall of Fame. It's almost a different list. Tupac? Yeah. What's your favorite from him? Uh, so anyway. We know he loves LA. Wu Tang Clam. I'm giving you some good ones here. I mean, fantastic. But what's your favorite Wu Tang member, Cap? Uh, probably Tang. [laughter] Thought maybe Wu would be definitely Hugger's side. All right. Have doom. [laughter] You're just reading. Yes. He just, yes. Google's a wonderful thing. Yeah. And get you all, folks. The Cap and Jhood Cut of the Day. Brought to you by Chicago Cut Steak House, Armless Sale, North Side of the Chicago River and Cap and Jhood. Brought to you by Villagibolin. We need some friendlier music. This sounds like the doom and gloom maybe a little bit. I know that's our-- Mark the idler. His music. But I mean, no. Just for this little segment. [laughter] Because that sounds like, oh my gosh, Tracy's got like really intense weather to tell you about. Can we have something like just a little-- Even the good name of Phoebe Flynn. How dare you say that. For news, it's fine. But when you got happy weather going on, I want something a little happier. If Channel 7 produces that, we will play it. Otherwise, you're still going to get, oh my God, Channel 7's on the air, oh my God. It's just, that's news music. I want some weather music. News and murder and bad weather and terrible sports. Oh my gosh, it's awful. That's what it is. Tracy, what about the power of the owl? You haven't commented. The what? Power of the owl. Exactly. What are you talking about? My wife bought a plastic owl for me. Oh. Yeah, and because of like woodpeckers or something? No, she said it was originally to go out on our pier to keep birds from nesting there. Okay. I never put it out there. I took the owl and made it the official mask out of the Chicago Cubs. There's six in one since I got the owl. Oh. Otis the owl. Oh. Okay. Slowly but surely, Tracy. I didn't know that applied to this sort of situation. Yeah. Otis has turned the Cubs around. That's correct. How much is Otis getting paid? He gets a nice place to sleep at night. A little stipend. Yeah. Yeah. That is what that is. My man! Otis my man. That's it. Oh gosh. Animal House 1978. Okay. We keep it current here. Very current. Yes. Kind of like some of the rappers that Cap was- Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Doom kid. Yeah. Tell us about the weekend weather. Okay. Because you took up half your time. Happy, happy weather music today. Highs in the low to mid 80s, little cooler lakeside, but we're going to turn up the heat. Little hot child in the city maybe this weekend. I love that. I know. It's a good tune, isn't it? It is. I know. But it is going to heat up tomorrow. So upper 80s tomorrow it's going to get more humid. I know we have windy city smoke out on Sunday, in fact we have it all weekend, but Sunday folks just take are easy. Mid 90s, even there, and we will probably have heat index readings topping 100 degrees on Sunday. All good, which is out there. Be careful, right? Be careful. That is great weather. Water, water, plants, pets, people, and then Monday, Monday, 90 degrees. Still hot. Yeah, mid 90s, heat index around 100, too. Yeah, you are getting 18 gold stars. That's all right. You get them all year round for me, Tracy. Thank you so much. Thank you very much. There are days, Tracy. Let's just down. Oh, two days ago, I let them down. Yeah, the weather around here wasn't great for a couple of months, just standing in line. We thank you for listening and calling in and being part of the program here on Captain Jay Hood, our thanks to Shane, our thanks to Justin Pottinger. How about we do this Monday at seven? Okay. Sounds great. All right. We'll do it then. So long, everybody. From Chicago. Take that. You were premature when Tracy. Time to stop imagining.
