This seems like it was years ago now, but you had a nice Time in Toronto all you want to do is have your bags and Air Canada still had your bags. It's Monday morning Did you get your bag? the bag showed up I we went to see the stones for our anniversary on Thursday night, and I'd probably over-indulged a little bit got home Went in just straight to bed Got up in the morning There was my bag at the door Finally finally and I would like to shout out if you ever get a lost bag the lady at Air Canada Chicago named Maria Who thought I might be Yuga Slavian She's amazing. Do you know I called there again on our way to the concert going? Where's my bag? And some guy answered. I think he was Maria's boss. He said she stayed two hours after her shift He said she's got a family. She said I got to find this man's bag. This is ridiculous And she tracked the bag down got someone to go get it. They got it on a flight and when I woke up In the glow of the rolling stones my bag was there everything inside Wow sitting on the porch Sitting by my front door How about that? How about that? So Maria at Air Canada at O'Hare at baggage claim you're a rock star So we're clear cap. How many total days did it take for you to get your second bag from Air Canada? six United fly the friendly skies. Yes, you've got Air Canada We'll lose your bag and get it to you and under a week That's pretty long title on the business card, but I totally understand. It's correct. I mean that's unbelievable Correct six days for you get again golf clubs in hand. You're good there, but the other bag It took six days from Toronto to Chicago for it to finally land on your porch. How about that? Still haven't gotten reimbursed for the flight mind you they cancel. Oh Well, that's a different story now. That's a different thread. We got to make sure you paid and they said wait in this line 200 people deep at 11 o'clock on a Saturday night and we'll try to get you a Voucher, but the 19 hotels they work with in the area were all sold out Fortunately because I flew a billion miles in my previous life and I have all these this status I was able to get my own room at the West and in Toronto right by the airport But I had to pay for the room and I called and they said well Just we'll get you a credit for it now. I get an email back over the weekend Just letting you know, we're not going to pay for your hotel room because it was mechanical is the reason we delayed the flight and There's no provision to pay for it if it's mechanical versus weather-related. Oh my god Yes, I will never fly your candidate again But with the reimbursement though, that's needed though. Can't is there's got to be a way to be able to get your money back I think that that's the new thing now. We have disputed on your credit card. Well, yes And we're going to check in every day until you get your money back. There you go. Maybe I got the bag back Yes, I and the anniversary was Thursday Got home super late from the concert, but it was an amazing show and then Friday I opened up the bag and made sure everything was in there. There's the air tag still there and There was the gift one of the gifts for my wife. Mm-hmm. I gave it to her so see I Would say all all's well that ends well, but I mean still it's it took a lot for you to get that back back But at least you got it back. That is correct So good from from back to worse when it comes to your baseball team So you don't say that there's big games in June cap You don't say there's big games But I think there's always oh when you look at the schedule as a player or as a manager or as a realization You can always look at the calendar and say, you know what? We're gonna circle this series We're gonna find out where we are and who we are about when we take on this team when you are in last place And you're taking on the first place team. It's a measuring stick contest to see all right We haven't played well, but we're going into the belly of the beast We know our fans will be there Cubs against Milwaukee and the Cubs lost two out of three against the Brewers You're now 11 and a half games In the rear in the nationally central and last place while the Brewers are 50 and 34 I thought that this was an opportunity for the Cubs to stand up and do something and We saw some things we hadn't seen all season from this Cubs team Watching this weekend Made me want a puke. It really did Ian Hap had a big home run in the eighth to win on Saturday on Friday you lose and you blow the game again and then on Sunday And I like Ian Hap very much, you know that yes Good guy solid not a star solid player Was he playing with like a blindfold on in left field on a ball on the track because he completely lost it ends up Instead of a man on and two outs now we have two on and one out another guy reaches base and Bryce to ring Hits a laser beam home run Grand Slam. No, had I been the manager here's exactly what I would have done Cody you're done Have a seat and I don't care if I'm putting the ghost of Jan Gomes out there. I don't care somebody's going out to play the outfield and When we get to the post game and someone says the play with Cody. I'm done watching guys Make mental errors and not know how many outs are in the game. They are Major League players and I am not going to tolerate. I let it go too long shame on me, but from this point forward No more. He was a good man And I don't think that he was holding the Cubs back from being a winner I just think that the ball club is what it is but Ross as we said at the time that council was hired Hmm less a prize. No one knew that Ross was gonna get fired No one knew that council was gonna be a scowl Cubs manager But because of what's happened here cap if you're council you got to feel bad like I came here to make a difference And actually it's worse with me being here Maybe he doesn't see it that way But I know we all see it this way that if Ross is in place Maybe the Cubs are a little better because he knows the players better than council does But if you're Craig you got to feel like God we're worse under me than it was under Ross last year last couple seasons It they just look lifeless and there's no level of accountability David Ross would not have tolerated some of the nonsense that we're watching no he would not it It would have been quiet now it would have been behind the scenes But then you would have saw someone pulled out the lineup and he would have gave a reason But it would have been overt, but you would have known there's there's changes that was gonna be afoot Anthony Rizzo told me they were playing in Pittsburgh and it was God I want to say it was 2015, but it might have been 16. He's it to me. He's always a guy We did a nice job We kind of didn't let him settle in right away And that's what you have to do and then he got into rhythm and then as the game got going the off speed started getting in the zone and The combination of the pitches hurt us. It's a day when You know, it's one run, so it's it's hard to it's hard to see a scenario or that's gonna win us a game And so offensively, you know, no matter who we're facing we're gonna have to be better You know that that's kind of what I take away from it brother. So you have the worst catching Your shortstop looks like Jason Hayward contract part two You don't have a third baseman at this point or maybe Matt Shaw's that guy out of the minors again He's a prospect means he's never done it. You've got two more years of 20 million at E and half. He's hitting 227 Center Fielder is your number one prospect and he's hitting 192 Suzuki Okay, he's an average Major League ballplayer making a lot of money. I Like Michael Bush very much. I think he has a chance to be a solid player star Probably not and your bullpen is pathetically bad You've blown 17 saves. So explain to me Jed if I give you the wherewithal to go sign Vladimir Guerrero or I give you a 400 million and you signed one Soto in the offseason. There's your one big move How does that fix your team? It does not gives you a star?
