The the thread in the show was going back to last weekend he went to Toronto okay on a golfing excursion Just rubbing elbows with X Players and had a good time supposed to come back to Chicago. Did not have both bags. Hmm golf bag Of course the old clothing bag. He had the anniversary gift for his wife Mindy in the bag Now every day we've been checking on this bag one of the bags is there and the other bag has been in Toronto Outside the Timmy hoes the Tim Hortons sure there was a air tag air tag in the bag Take a look at now. He's hit refresh many times. He was taught how to refresh it. Yeah, so he so he knows How to be able to refresh the old air tag the whole having another phone in the area thing really threw a wrench into the the plan yesterday I heard the confusion. Yes I just laid back. I just laid out just so that you could hear the screeching wheels in his head Turning trying to figure it out. It's just like my phone's here wait a minute. Another phone. We'll take that The latest jaymore is That he has not received his bag as of last night today is friday And he has still not received that bag Now we've had people on the case from on the seventh floor here really and outside of the station and people listening in canada Um, they're in still no Sign of his bag as of late last night. That stinks now You know drake said he can get his bag back, but he needs to know who is his favorite rapper Oh, no Well, would cap say drake? That's why you don't check your bags uh, that's why if you Can get by with just the carry-on you do it every single time because stuff like this happens And then you'll also see the videos where people are waiting to board the plane and they see the baggage handlers Tossing the suitcases and the golf clubs. Yeah with no regard just onto the tarmac Trying to get it onto the the plane like Unfortunately, I know there's hard-working people at o'hair and at midway. Yeah, but you don't trust it. You don't ever trust it So unfortunately caps still missing his bag Mindy will have to wait for her gift because it's in the bag Uh, that's something though. I mean from from from toronto to chicago He cannot get his bag and he's saying it's still outside the timmy hortons. I said wow and that's something I mean that's that's frustrating. I understand that but again. This goes back to last saturday It's friday. The man still doesn't have his bag. That's pretty tough. You can't you can't carry on golf clubs Correct, but you kind of go into that a golf club golf bag You know that if it takes a while to get to you you're you might be okay as long as you've got there for your golf trip But uh the bag itself your clothes the gift to mini that's the key here That's there's an anniversary gift in the bag. That's a tough one. Yeah, I think he said it's like one and a half So if you gain money going over there right now Makes about a dollar 50 on the dollar I'm thinking that because we he works here Whatever of that gift was he said he's he mentioned it was a jacket and something else like could have got it the airport I got it over here. I'm telling you he got it a duty free. There's it was taxed for them probably That makes sense. I mean, that's why it's such a big deal I don't I just for me. I'm not pitching a penny in that spot. I mean, it's like it's like whatever I need something that's convenient for me Now look if it's like when I when I go out of town and I bring you guys like stuff from You know from wherever i'm from you know national travels my travels. That's fine Yeah, even if it's internationally if it's in the bags in the bag, but something like important at like an anniversary gift That's a tough spot Yeah, I I feel like um, I don't know in many guys listening to this uh show right now might disagree with me It seems a little last minute You know the anniversary, you know, it's on the horizon You got a plan and it seems like if you take a trip the week before And then you get the gift feels a little last minute to me I think there needs to be better planning because theoretically Unless you saw something that was just out of this world. He worked my day I think he was there thursday friday saturday. He was back here sunday Did you guys find out from him why he checked a bag for four days? He said he likes to walk freely through the airport I do too Oh, come on. You do it once and that's it. Yeah That was in the mind once uh, canceled flights coming back from vegas Took the flight took a spirit flight Immediately the moment I sat down on the plane regretted my decision. Yeah, just spending the extra money Yeah But boy for four days you check a bag. All right So man that that's just amazing, man I mean, even erica bodus thinking about cap this morning. I believe that was the case. Yeah, so his bag is just kind of lingering because he probably checked his bag Thought he's gonna be on this flight and then he said he sat in the airport for six hours And then never got home and it was sunday and that and there's the hook right there You check your bag on saturday thinking you're gonna be home You see the airport six hours. You never get on the place So now you have to stay someplace and then turn around on sunday You're thinking well, they took care of it. No, they did not now. It's lost in the sauce Is it not? I would also add. Yeah, no, I agree to and I'd also say Uh, we all know and love cap and been around cap for a long time He can't sit idly for six hours doing anything I'm actually stunned by phone didn't ring during the six hours because cuz see and this is how the purchases are made, right? He's doot doot doing all around the airport for six hours And you know like I think the collective group that's here today you sit down You throw on some headphones Podcasts leave a little podcast a little music get something to eat But he he can't do that and that's not a shot. He would admit He can't do do do around like he's he's moving around all over the place He's incapable of being alone and relax exactly totally incapable and six hours In an airport, you know, like could you imagine watching him pace back and forth through terminals? Gotta get my steps in take that Uh, there's a shame But that man still hasn't had his bag yet and that's just that's a crime. That's a tough break However, he has been able to connect to um to some of the operators Shay. We were privy to that yesterday that he was there was an operator that Kept his number. Yeah, called him on his personal phone left him a voicemail Was this a listener to the radio station? Uh, no, but she believed that he made her very famous by talking about her on the radio But he pulled the he told her what he does for work. I'm sure He wait, he told her that he was gonna talk about this on the radio thinking the bag would appear Yeah, she started the message with hello, mr. Kaplan. You make me very famous. I'm all over the news All over the news So I thought it was someone pulling his leg. I thought it was like a prank call So definitely a potential hock to a situation. Oh, yeah The situation for cap that he has stashed away. All right. Yes, yeah, so you know, we're not going to talk about the politics part of it Yeah, what disaster of an evening but I think some of the stuff that uh is interesting is that I think this radio station's missing an opportunity I feel as if we could have two individuals here on the staff run for office for espion 1000 And I feel if we select two individuals for for each party to run for espion 1000 office We could line up debates. We could have campaign ads We could have the whole thing that this could take place in september in october leading into the fall and uh the presidential election And I think it would be a lot of fun I I feel like it's something that we're really missing is that we could really get into this Each show could support the different candidates. We could have moderators. We could have debates We could really build this. I mean these could be live events Could you imagine if we selected two individuals from this station to be at podiums at a live event Like say, uh, you know binnies or wherever we go. Yeah, and you have a live audience a town hall situation people asking questions and the two have to debate each other I I think it would be a lot of fun for the radio station So more entertaining than what we saw last night around here. Oh, absolutely 100 percent. Okay. Don't you think it would be fun I think it's a missed opportunity. So I would say yes these two weeks three weeks I mean just to add it all up through through past the all-star break are very important But certainly as we hit the break if jed has Um the standings in front of him and it's look it's looking like this chris Then I don't think those few days after the break are going to make a difference So but I would I would add it all together But I mean all the way to july july 25th is going to be important also look at the opponents This weekend you're on the road in mawakki you face the fillies You have the the oriel's in there and then the cardinals who are a wild card team at this moment I mean it's a tough stretch until the all-star break Yeah, they have not put themselves in a good position at all. I mentioned on the air yesterday, you know The ball to marios have four starters that are hurt the yankis have some injuries You know, I'm not comparing them to those teams but the point is You know if they had gotten off to a little bit better start or played better I should say in may in june you could survive a bad schedule you could survive a few injuries Now they have to fight through all of that and move up the standings at the same time I hate the fact that they had to play sunday baseball fly to san francisco play for no day off fly to milwaukee play three milwaukee's just I mean milwaukee's 48 and 33 I mean of all the things i've been wrong about in my life in baseball this milwaukee burrs being 48 33 Might be at the top of the list. I thought for sure they take a step back Instead they've taken a step forward Could you explain why that is the case because you have a new manager in place council leaves and becomes a cubs manager? And you and I would agree with you on the surface because the brewers Small market team they were scrappy under council. You thought maybe with a new manager would be different Why have the brewers been able to thrive? Well, I could tell you why it's happened like statistically, but why uh, what's in the water up there? I can't necessarily say other than look, no one man makes an organization So maybe we all overvalued what council brought to the table up there And there's something organizationally that they're very good at jhood. It's the same thing that the cleveland guardians are really good at What is it? It's all the decisions on the margins when you are a small market team It's all those daily little things development scouting drafting I mean the answer question is they're getting great offense from players that you didn't necessarily see it coming Not not not just yellowch. So I think that's interesting Jesse what team surprises you the most in all major league baseball to this point this season Well other than Milwaukee in some ways The cubs, I mean I did not would not have imagined them being this bad I really could not imagine them being this bad when we talk about how good the guardians are But we could have said oh, I think the gardens will be good like But obviously they're better than I thought the brewers are better than I thought but the cubs are the most surprising team to me Last place halfway through the season 11 games out Only two teams have overcome this kind of a deficit halfway through the season in the divisional play 012 and 06 It's just I mean kissing the division goodbye before july 1st chris. So like you can do deals like that. I don't know exactly what he's going to do But it wouldn't shock me if he moves somebody under contract just to change things up and and try Try something else get a power here at first base or something like that jonathan I don't know if you heard this jester and karmen yorko But jesse was asked if this cups team would be any better if david ross was still here I was surprised by jesse's and jesse you can give the answer again or elaborate on it But you essentially said that you thought that this team would be better off with david ross Yes, I said that in the short term because he knows Here's he knows the organization obviously he knows the players and he also knows what lane he's in And they won 83 last year. I I think they'd have a better record suckliff said to wah to to sylvian myself the other day that he felt like um kreg was still evaluating evaluating it surprised me And I don't know if he's right, but there there does feel like a little bit of a step back from council He had his hand he had his fingerprint on every part of the bros organization And and it was and it was an aggressive, you know, you know, I mean like he wasn't laying back It feels like he's he is watching a little bit that that's the only explanation I could come up with seeing all these disastrous ways. They're playing the game outs on the bases Defense, I know that throwing turning over table isn't the answer. I'm not saying that but he's usually really good at the little things behind the scenes And that's on and off the field everything and I just feel like something's going on there where he's He's kind of watching more and the fact that suckliff said that makes sense So like maybe he's taking a step back now to take two steps forward later. Like there's no doubt He's going to bring in some coaches, right? I mean willy harris should be renting and not owning That's a big statement. I mean come on They lead they lead the league every year and outs on the bases outs at home plate That can be misleading the more runners you get on the more but that's not the case with the cubs, right? They had another out at home base at home plate. I I feel like Coaches coaching changes is our debt are definitely coming and some others as well. I saw yeah I think in the short term They would be better than with david ross right in this moment I I find that interesting Jesse because when you hear from suckliff a guy that's been in a lot of club houses So council comes to the cubs and thinks he has a ready-made team I just need to tighten the screws on this team will be fine and then he sees like there's a first of all you're very injured That's a other problem. You can't say healthy, but then the players are supposed to cornerstones on the team They're not playing well either You're not very good on the base pass and so I could see him at the end of the season However, this ends up then he turns the table over on jet goes. So what are we doing here? You brought me here to win. So I looked at this team for a year. I played the players that you gave me Okay, enough of this I can see that happening that makes more sense because but with ross I think there'd be more accountability With ross behind the scenes not in front but behind the scenes where players he knows versus council with players that he doesn't Yeah, that's that's very possible. I think that's very possible. I do think that ross Had a little bit of a weak spot with young players and that's why The Cubs with their high highly ranked farm system They wanted to give it to someone that is used to managing young players and dealing with them Thing is he's not really dealing with them just yet other than ben brown and was neske He hasn't brought up on casey or the bigger names So I don't think his strength that's really been showing up in a way in in terms of that But I think you're right.
