And we're happy to have with us Logan Gillespie, the Padres young right-hander. 20 different arms have thrown a pitch this year for the San Diego Padres. Only one of them has not walked a batter. And he joins us today. Did you know that Logan? You're the only one that hasn't. I didn't want to jinx you, but you did know that. All right. So I'm not jinxing you. Yeah. Good start for you. And tell us a little bit about, you know, what it's been like being with this ball club. He spent a little time with Baltimore last year and a cup of coffee with Boston. How San Diego treating you. Oh, I love San Diego. Such great guys here. And every time you get to the field, they welcome you like your family and everything. Yeah. Logan, Logan, it seems, you know, you've been on the shuttle bus a little bit. You've been up. You've been down. I mean, how have you kept yourself prepared as, you know, you have to, you know, make the, it's not easy having to go, you know, AAA back here, back down, back up again. How have you been able to stay in the right mind frame during that time? Oh, you stay in the right mind frame by not even unpacking where you go. I know there'd be no faco without the suitcase. Go to the big league, live out of the suitcase. That is going on pack. Loading the last be obviously a simple man, a very simple man. Tell us a little bit about what you think you bring to this team. Logan. I would say I throw a lot of strikes, which keeps our defense awake, not falling asleep in the field. That's about it. I just go out there and compete. Well, you know, so far off to a good start at the big league level. I mean, this isn't your first time pitching at this level, but, you know, one of the things it seems like you've been able to kind of dial in on it is throwing strike. Is that something that you've always done well throughout your career? Or is this something that you've really tried to hone in on this season? I would say I've done it for a really long time because I was told that I needed to throw more balls. It really helped because I give up a lot of 0-2-1-2 hits. Yeah, managers don't like that throwing balls comes in. Yeah, they don't like that for some reason, an 0-2. They don't want you to throw a strike, and yet they count your pitch count. So I always feel like that's a little bit odd. Logan Gillespie is with us from the Padres. Last year, as I mentioned, you were with Baltimore. They had a hell of a great team with a bunch of young players. You were part of that. Won a ball game, finished seventh tier, but we're in 17 games. And then, you know, to be told, hey, you know, we're going to move on from you. How tough is that? And how did you keep your confidence when that happened? Um, I think pitching so well against other teams made it a little bit more comforting because I felt like I showed myself when I played against them and they liked what they saw, so I think that's what gets me calm. But it was hard. I was like, oh my god, I made it this far and I was over. Well, it's not. It's not over. That's a good thing. That's a good thing. Logan is from Bakersfield. And I want to ask you, I used to broadcast hockey in San Diego. And we used to go to Bakersfield. We used to go to Bakersfield every five minutes to play the Bakersfield Condors. Did you ever attend any of those games? I did a lot. I went for the fight because they fought a lot. They did fight a lot, especially San Diego and Bakersfield. So I'm glad to know you were there. We're going back. Obviously, go ahead and back to Baltimore here, soon. Is this a place you're looking forward to going back to Baltimore? Heck, yeah. All right. Well, Logan, we'll let you roll. Great catching up with you to start the second half. And good luck. Hope you're here for a long time this time. Hang around and continue to keep throwing strikes, my friend. And we'll see you soon. Yes, sir. Thank you for having me. You betcha. Thank you, Logan. What kind of programs does this school have? How are the test scores? How many kids do a classroom?
