When is the last time we had a four hour show. Got a little extra rest before this one today. Tony Gwen Jr. is joining us from Dallas, Texas or nearby Dallas. Not exactly sure what city limits he's in, but he's there with the Padres. After a fine weekend, Scrabie, the Padres did come up a little short of completing the Boston massacre. Oh, wow. But they certainly got the start to the Boston massacre with the blowout wins on Friday and Saturday. Oh, look at Tony. He is sitting on a couch right now. Tony Gwen Jr. looks like he is stressed out. I don't know if he can hear me, though. He's not reacting to anything I'm saying. Oh, there he is. There you are. Yeah, I'm sorry. I was I was just listening. I was listening to your opening my opening salvo. Yeah. For the Padres in their weekend. It was a good weekend. Absolutely. A lot of a lot of offense, a lot of a lot of guys swinging a bat. Well, some good pitching. That's just an all around good series. They beat a good Red Sox team to think is overachieving, too, at this point. We're going into that series at least. Well, the Padres are no longer underachieving. You know, I mean, look, I've been begging for one stretch, Tony, just one big stretch where they win 10 out of 12 games. Well, guess what? They've won nine out of 11. So they're close to that. Yeah. And they got you. They got you that five straight finally got us to five straight. We got a couple of series sweeps, and we've got a good start to this road trip with things finishing up in Texas, three games starting tomorrow, and then they'll be back home to finish things off before the all-star break, and certainly a good chance to put themselves in great position. I think what everybody wants to know, the answer to this question, and I don't think we have it, but how in the world are the Padres seemingly performing better with so many players not healthy? And that's the craziest probably thing about all of this. I guess the answer to that question is, well, Jackson Merrill is healthy and Kyle Higashyoka is healthy, and that's enough to get the job done right now, not that they're doing it by themselves. But my goodness, Jackson Merrill is one of the hardest outs in baseball right now, Tony. Yeah, I don't think it matters how they're doing it, it's just that they're doing it. No one needs to care about how it's happening. I tell you the one thing that's different, and it's not Jackson Merrill, it's not Kyle Higashyoka, it's Manny Machado, is the man he we've grown accustomed to, and that's really the only thing that has changed in this. Jackson Merrill has been doing Jackson Merrill all season long. The same can be said for Jeriks and Profar. The same can be said for a couple guys in this lineup that have been having good season, Jake Cronoworth, one of those guys. The difference is that Manny is now looking like Manny. Two Homer Day, three Homer weekend, that's Manny type stuff. I mean, he was sitting over 400 going into that game yesterday against against the Red Sox. So that is the thing that has changed. And you know, you can make the argument that even before he got going, before he before Toddy got hurt, he had started to go. And so when you get those guys playing at their best, it's this is this is why they get paid the big bucks because it's a difference making thing, right? Padres have been playing 500 all season. The difference is Manny got hot, and now it's, you know, they had ran off five straight there. And so that's why that's why they're difference makers, you know, when they get going. I feel like such a dummy. I really do. I mean, I told myself at least 45 times the first two and a half months of the season. In fact, I said it on the show probably a dozen times during the first two and a half months of the season. And that was do not worry about Manny Machado. When all is said and done, he will have his Manny Machado type season. But I got to be honest with you, Tony, I worried anyway. And you know, when who when he was I think that's normal though. Yeah, I know. I think that's normal. I mean, he's coming off of elbow surgery. He, you know, got back early on that. You know, when you're watching him, he didn't look right. And I would say that he started to look a lot better. You know, it's hard to really connect it because it's never as though he looked like he was favoring his elbow. And he certainly didn't say his elbow was hurting. But you get back that soon. And the but about a month, a month and a half, two months earlier than what was originally projected. That's a that's a covering a lot of time. It's not like it came back a couple weeks early. That's a full two months early. And I think he's just it to me when I watched it, when I've watched him here as of late, his lower half and his upper half look to be like synced up perfectly right now. And so you just hope that this is a you know, this is this is what we're going to see. I mean, I looked up the other day and it was like, it wasn't a surprise. But you look up, you see two 70 10 and 45. The homers and RBIs are probably a little bit behind what he normally is. But that 270 mark is his career. So, you know, if he if this is what we're going to get the rest away, the Padres are going to continue to look the way they look. Yeah, four home runs, 12 RBIs, assuming everything else holds. Yeah, in his last 10 games hit 333 30 for 90 in the month of June. You got to throw in that, that hip injury that he had to Tony. I mean, when he when he had that and went down with that, and you added it to his elbow woes, and then you added it to the fact that he came out in a rare article in which he actually expressed some concern himself, right? I mean, this is one of the very few times you ever hear Manny Machado say, you know, I'm missing piss. He didn't. I don't want to say he expressed concern, but he expressed frustration. That's a better word for it. You know, so there's pitches that I'm normally get to and I'm not getting to them and it's driving me crazy. And, you know, then pretty much after that, you know, you started seeing some two for three, some four for five, some two for four, you know, like you said, a couple of home runs, five RBIs, three RBIs, just hitting line drives going the other way, becoming a threat and, you know, the threat that we're used to seeing. So, you know, it was a great weekend. I mean, Jackson Merrill, another thing Tony, I mean, this guy, I don't know why. I mean, I, whenever I see Fenway Park, I think back to the, the Red Sox and, and I always think a lot about Fred Lynn. He was one of my all time favorites growing up. And I know that he's, you know, now he lives in San Diego and love to try to track him down one day, producer. Fred Lynn think he'd be a great, great guest on the show. Yeah, I can let you know how to reach out if you aren't. Tell me how to reach out. I'll reach out to Fred Lynn. I just get, I just, those guys are hard to find, but we can find them. I know they're hard to find. I think he, I think he'd be, you know, somebody that probably wouldn't mind coming on. But, you know, 1975, I know, I got a hair share, but this guy was going to spare you up. But now, he was the rookie of the year in the MVP in the same season. Now I, um, I tweeted that out over the weekend. And I said, you know, Jackson Merrill is kind of making me think about Fred Lynn. A lot of people wrote back and said, you're an idiot. He was never going to be the MVP. I didn't say he's going to be the MVP. I just said what he's doing is running me of that season that Fred Lynn had when he was a rookie, because, you know, I mean, nine home runs in June. It's more than Tatissa's ever done, more than just about anybody's ever done. And three hits yesterday, and he's playing great defense. He was, he played that wall out there like he was Fred Lynn Tony at Fenway Park, playing caroms perfectly, making running catches in right center field basket catches. Hey, guys, good. That's all I got. Yeah, Jackson's, Jackson's good. I mean, that's, I don't, I don't, there's nothing new here with Jackson. Jackson's just doing, doing what Jackson does. I, he's just, he's just growing, you know, is, you know, I think when you get a chance to watch him every day, he's, he's making all the plays that he's supposed to make. And he's getting better offensively. You know, I made this point the other day. You know, Jackson is not a small dude. Like everybody is like so blown away by these homers. Jackson is the same size as Fernando Tatissa's junior. Like when they stand next to each other, they're the same size. So I don't know why it would be out of the realm for him to be able to hit balls the way he has. I think what is maybe surprising is how fast he's figured it out in terms of that. But Jackson is, it's not like Jackson is five, nine, you know, you know, 200 pounds. This dude is, this is long. He's lanky. And you know, he's got some, he got a little thump. You know, he had nine homers in the month of July, every excuse me, month of June. Can he continue to, is he going to continue to hit homers at that rate of a eight to nine homer month? That's a, it's a big, big. Well, then if he does that, he's going to finish with 39 home runs this year if he keeps that pace up. So that might be asking a little much for him to go 39 30, 30 installing bases. But, Jackson, I keep saying is Jackson, Jackson is a, was a winning player. He just, he does winning things. And so that affects, obviously, your team and then having a chance to win. And so he's doing great. It's just, it's just fun to watch these guys as a, as a unit. It's not, and I think that's what makes this team enjoyable offensively to watch is that it's not like done one way. You got a bunch of different styles in the lineup, you know, from Louise, her eyes, which is different from pro far, which is different from crona worth, which is different from Manny. And it's like that, up and down the lineup, you get different flavors. And when their offense is clicking, like it has been the past, I don't know what we say about two weeks, offense has been, been going pretty good week and a half. It's a fun offense to watch. This is so much, at least from my fans, boy, there's so much better watching. I shouldn't say better. And fun is not a word. It's so much more fun to watch this year's offense versus last year's, the year, it really says I've been doing this. I don't know that there's been an office. I know that 2020 year may, may pop up in terms of a fun offense to watch, but this offense, I think is even, is even better to watch. Well, you're right. I mean, it starts with a rise. I mean, getting a base hit almost every time up, and I know he doesn't get a base hit every time up, but it just seems that way pro far such a threat right now and has been all season. Manny is starting to become that. And then Merrill, you know, and then he got you, Oka has the month that he has. So that takes it all the way from the top, all the way down through the middle and all the way down to the bottom of the order. So there's not a, there's not a lot of, you know, place for anybody to rest out there. You know, and this is why you score 20 runs in the first two games of that series. I really, the only thing that shut them down yesterday was about three hard hit double play ground balls because it seemed like every time they're going to get a rally start, somebody hit one on the button right at a, you know, shortstop or something and that would short circuit the inning. But, you know, and Waldron, I mean, he got, you got beat by a fastball. Devers, you know, the first one, his knuckleball was, was so crazy. They got you couldn't even catch that one. And then I give a, it was, and then I give Duran credit because he had a knuckleball out of the ballpark. Maybe that one didn't knuckle as much as the others, but for somebody to square up one of those, I got to get him a lot of credit on that home run. And, you know, he was the toughest out all, he was the toughest out all series there. Lefty can go get it in center. I just, he was impressive and he didn't really do much. He was the one, I mean, they kept him pretty quiet, but yeah, Waldron yesterday was one of the first instances he didn't have like either of them working to, like nothing working like to his ability. Like usually the knuckleball is not working. He go to that, he go to that sweep or he go to that fastball. He's commandant. He wasn't really commanding any of it with his, like at the type of way he needed to. And, you know, he had to go to the fastball in the one case, they hit the homer. I think, I think it was a sweeper that they scored on, they got to hit on that scored runs on. And then obviously the, the one knuckle, one of the knuckleballs that didn't do much Duran hit out. But yeah, I mean, even with that being said, he didn't pitch horribly. No, that's what I was going to say. It was a 70, it was a 75 pitches or something like that. Man, I mean, it was four to four to nothing when he left the game. That's not game over. You know, like I said, if that's going to be his bad performance, saw, you know, I'm almost take that. So, look, everything, everything's thumbs up right now for the Padres and, you know, 46 and 42. You can't rest. A lot of work to do. But for now, things look pretty, pretty good. I, there's one last thing about Jackson Merrill, because I talked about his defense. And I, I'm not going to get into the analytics of all of this defense. But I am going to tell you that he's leading the league in games played in center field. So he's been out there more than anybody as a center fielder. Part of that is because the Padres have played all those games. He's second in put outs means he's caught more balls than everybody but one other player in the league. He's only committed two errors all season for a brand new position, you know, and, and a lot of times you get an air and center fielder as a center fielder, Tony, just throwing the ball back into the infield that bounces off a leg somewhere and rolls away and you get a throwing air. So he's only got two E's. And just on top of that, he's turned four double plays, which leads center fielders. I'm not giving him the gold glove. But what I am saying is, guys, first, no, what I'm saying is we put him out there in center field and we were really worried that he wouldn't know what to do out there. And that's turned out to be ridiculous because he's been, you know, once the last time the ball got hit the center field and anybody was worried about it. There you go. Remember, I can't even. I mean, I'm not giving him the gold glove, though, because I can't say. Oh, okay, well, fine. Give him the gold glove then. And give it a Fernando and give it to and put them all on the all-star team while you're at it. Some of you guys may have been wondering why I had my hands on my, on my forehead like that. I was for you. Yes, it was me. Yeah. Portugal. Portugal had a penalty kick. And Mr. Ronaldo got it blocked. And he's having a rough day. He's man is in tears right now. So, oh, oh, it's so smart to hear that. He's crying. Yeah, no. Wow, Christian. No, crying in sports. A lot of it, pal. That's okay. Cool. We're just getting, we're just getting started here, buddy. It'll be okay. We, as usual, have rolled past our starting point. It's okay. I just want to point it out. All right. Well, then let's stop the segment right now before it's too late. Gwen and Chris is underway for a Monday full four hours to sit backwards, kind of easing into things. Tell you what's coming up when we come back is a lot of things, but it isn't boring. Give us a little update on where the state of golf is. Of course, Brian de Shambo able to win the last turn. What'd I say, Brian? Yeah, Brian Shambo is related to Jeff golf. Yes, Jeff and Brian are pretty tight, aren't they? Yeah. Nonetheless, Padres off day to day back in action against the Rangers, starting tomorrow three games. That first time in the new in this new ballpark for myself, and Jesse, we didn't get to come in 2020. Yeah, it was the COVID year, right? This is where, um, correct me. I'm wrong. This is where slam Diego was born. Yes, it was. It started in Texas. All right. Well, it was, but no, that's not another way. It was boring, boring. I wasn't asked. I was asking more question more than just saying like a statement. It was the Rangers. It was the Rangers because, uh, that was when Fernando hit the three oh, oh, and this is win. Chris, my man would he had the backtrack after he came? Well, I don't know if he backtracked, but the baseball world backtracked on him quick. Cause it was like, people were all upset that Toddy, what was he? Swan three. Oh, I think it was six run, six run game, seven run game, and like overnight it changed. It felt like it was like everybody was mad to like, we all went to bed and woke up the next day. And everybody was mad at Chris the following day. He was, he was, uh, the manager for the Rangers, uh, I thought you were talking with this group or some reason. No, what would he, uh, you just assumed they were mad at me because that's a normal reaction is what you were thinking. He was, he, they all, the fans kind of everybody. This is when the whole idea of let the kids play. I felt like really started to bubble at this point. I also, this is where, this is where a lot of the baseball lines I felt like are they, no, not the baseball lines. The, uh, unwritten rules really started to get put under their microscope in 2020. I felt like now mentioning Eric Cosmer is a sin on the station and the show, but his podcast, they talked about all of this, J. Tingler and that, um, I'm just going to say, go listen to his podcast for the full story, but it sounds like that was a turning point in that clubhouse between the players and J. Stingler, just because J. Stingler didn't have their back. J said that, uh, Fernando Tati's junior need, Odin apology, basically, I think he did without saying so, you know, it's interesting, Tony, we talked about this very thing also on the round table the other day. And Ben Higgins brought up the fact that you could say that the Padres are kind of responsible for a lot of the new way that baseball has become. No, I don't, I don't want to take, you know, all of the credit here, but it was Fernando that swung at the three O pitch. And now I think if somebody swings into three O pitch and it's a grand slam, but I don't really even know that anybody even makes mention of it. But back then, it was a controversial type of a thing. Uh, the other thing that the Padres, I think, did back around that time. And again, I think Fernando was at the, uh, the center of this, but it was the swag chain, whenever you had a home run. Now we don't even think twice about it. When somebody comes into a dugout after a home run and they roll them down the way in a shopping cart, or they, or they put a halo on his head or they, the samurai, he carries a trident around. I mean, the, the, the, the optic in my mind of Mickey Mantle being pushed down the Yankee Stadium dugout in a shopping cart while carrying a trident after it's a home run. It's pretty laughable, but, you know, that was then this is now. And first, the Padres were kind of at the start of some of that. First, I know we'd like to believe that we were the start of the whole, uh, three O swinging. It just remember how that went down. Nobody was watching anything at that point. Tati was like the hottest thing gone and, and sports at the time. So everybody was paying a lot closer attention. And I think part of why that being as big as it was was because Jase handled it initially like he did people. This is, you know, guys had swung three O long before Tati had, and there had been ramifications because typically, for being honest, everybody kind of agreed, you know, it was the wrong thing to do. So it never became a story. In this case, like I said, we went to bed thinking one thing, the following day we woke up and it was a completely different thing. And that's what made the story a little bit bigger. But I will say we definitely started the, the swag chain. I don't know that people have the fondest memories of the swag chain after a while because it seemed like it's also connected with, you know, some bad times as well. But you're right. Padres, we're like the first to go like all in on the swag, because the swag chains are really, we're only the football thing. I think Padres were the first to bring it. Yes. That's where it started. You're right. Turn over chainers. The turnover turn over chain and then that became a turnover or whatever. But yeah, I mean, if it wasn't for the pod, I mean, because every team now has their own, they got their own their own little for sure now in the dugout. And that never happened before. So Fernando Tatis Jr. He's a he's a game changer. The swag chain is interesting because it is a prop that like you, it doesn't work if you're like losing a lot. I remember if you're one of your what are the Rockies do when they hit a home run? Just kind of look around some hope. Nobody notices. I mean, early in the season is cool. But like, if you're like losing still as you get into August, like, yeah, and you're down five nothing and you hit a homer, it's just kind of weird to come in there, spin in the chain and and you're down five one still, right? I didn't think that's believe me. That ended up being show about that. Yeah, that that ended up kind of, you know, working itself out, you know, as time went on. But man, maybe they that that 2020 was was kind of crazy. It was, I mean, there was nothing popping, but like baseball, like empty. Do you guys remember? So I need to bring up the cardboard cutouts. I mean, Fernando, I believe destroyed one of those on one of the home runs he had in Texas. It like he did. I think he decapitated one. You're right. Yeah. But that was that it all goes back to that series in Texas, though, where all of this stuff kind of started. Slam Diego was definitely born. And that was where they played the Dodger series in the playoffs. And that was also where Rob Manfred, why did I bring that up? And Scravey's gonna be talking like this the rest of the day. He's never gonna live that down on the show. He's not going back to Texas. Let's, uh, we are back in Texas. Padres looking to keep the good times a role. And I didn't even get to give you some of the Manny Machado and Hassan Kim and Jackson Merrill numbers because we got sidetracked. But anyway, anyway, we need to get to break Charlie Hoffman. PGA Tor Vint looks to join the show here on the other side. So let's get to break full four with myself, Chris Elo and Matt Scravey here. I'm winning Chris. Yes, Euro 2024 round of 16, Bernardo about to take his PK slatter step. Oh, nailed it. One Neil. Portugal. Portugal's playing who are they? They're playing. I think it's Slovenia. Slovenia. Oh, I think so. Good old Slovenia. All right. Is that SVN? Yes. I don't know. Yeah. I didn't know the penalty. There's no you can try and put it in there. I don't know. I was about the abbreviation. I know. I know it's Slovenia. It's Slovenia. All right. They just put the whole thing up. Slovenia and Portugal. You won't miss the outcome. Tony is all over that. Gwen and Chris, it's a very quiet day in baseball, actually only three games. The whole day Astros just sent Josh Hader to the mound in Toronto, trying to protect a three-nothing lead over the Blue Jays. Nice to see that Josh Hader is available today. Apparently a rain out forced him a rain delay forced him from participating yesterday and he warmed up too much. All right. Well, we'll leave Josh Hader alone for now. That this man live. He's not here anymore. Our guy Charlie Hoffman is here though and we just we just love it when Charlie comes on the show, PGA golf tour professional, Poway zone and you know, nice enough to spend a little time with us here on this Monday afternoon. Charlie, how you been? Good to talk to you, sir. All good and join a nice week off here in sunny San Diego. Nice to see the June gloom sort of go away. June gloom has gone away. We've also, yeah, we've given way to July first. And first of all, I want to ask you about this tournament yesterday. If you saw this, the rocket mortgage tournament in Detroit and you know, as a professional golfer, you probably have a feeling like no other one. You see something like this happen. Akshay Batia, is it? And he's got a 30 foot spot needs a two putt to force a playoff. And then the second putt was what? Four foot, three four footer and a lipped out. Cam Davis gets the win. Cam Davis even said he wouldn't wish that on anybody, even though he was the winner. How much pain is that for some, I mean, I don't know that the guy sleeps for a month after missing that one. Well, if you play golf long enough, we've all been there. Akshay is obviously one of our younger brighter stars on the PGA tour and he played some phenomenal golf. I happen to catch literally maybe the last hole or two of that golf tournament. I was down, hanging out with the family down by the beach. But you know what? It's one of those, the guy who played so amazing, had to have three putt all week and then nothing, all he has to do is two putt because that first putt was, that TV doesn't do it justice on that green, how much undulation there is on that green. So it, the putty miss wasn't an easy putt. Now, he should have probably, that first I should have been a little bit closer, but it's one of those. You don't, you don't, you want to win golf tournaments, you never want to lose them. I've lost them, I've won some. But he, he, he's obviously going to be kicking himself because he played some amazing golf and he didn't get a chance to go a few extra holes with Cam and Cam with the beneficiary of it. Charlie, I feel like every time we have you on, especially lately, we've had to ask like, you know, kind of tough golf questions, state of golf. So I'll start a little different this time. Padre's playing some good baseball. Are you following them right now? How you feeling as a Padre fan watching this team play some better. You know what I, I, I took the family to a game few weeks ago against Oakland and it was a blast and they won and a walk off fashion. It was one of the walk off wins. And it was, it was fun to be part of. And then they went on their losing streak, they went on the run, they went on losing three minutes off the fire afterwards. So to say the least, I try to, I try to stay engaged via being on the East Coast and doing, doing playing golf or living. I don't rarely catch live games, but it's, it's fun to watch them play some, some decent baseball and hopefully get a run for the playoffs because I think our team is breathing good. And it's, I think got the power to go, go a long distance in the playoffs. Charlie Hoffman, our guy on the PGA tour, our guest here on Gwen and Chris and, uh, uh, Charlie, I mean, follow up with another short putt question. You, you guys, you guys missed the Portugal this one. Oh, thank you. I'm sweating it out. I'm going to get to my seat here. Got both of you guys watching this Portugal soccer thing. I couldn't find it on TV in the break. Yes. Gravy couldn't find it on our TV. He doesn't know where it is. So, well, thank you, Charlie for the update. And Portugal is thankfully through to the Euro quarter finals. That is great news. That is great news. Uh, but I'm going to ask you about another short putt, putt, and that's Rory at the US Open. And I know we, I don't know, maybe we like to, to, to try to make Rory out to be the bad guy. But did he owe it to us? You know, we're there, the media I'm talking about. We're there when he wins. We're there, you know, when things happen. Uh, you know, he missed it. I can totally get how frustrating it had to be. But was that the right move? Or do you understand him kind of just getting out of there and heading for the hills after that US Open? I'm trying to figure out a way to answer this question without become some sort of Bible sensation. Uh, uh, if there's a period of time where you couldn't keep the mic out of Rory's mouth about what he wanted to talk to her in the state of golf and the PJ tour. And then when the, I would say the most candid time in someone's life when you should answer those questions because there's a reason why we're making millions of dollars in this because of media. And yes, he does owe it to the fans. And yes, uh, he does need to do with that interview. I, we've, I, like I said, I've, I've never lost the US Open. I've lost golf tournaments, but yeah, you do, you do, you go with everybody to do that. And that's just part of the gig is the answer to the hard questions and the hard times. And that's why people tune in to watch. And that's how you, and that's how you have fans and why you have fans. And, uh, and unfortunately he did not do that. I'm sure if you, if I talked to him or someone else, talked to him, we probably wish he had a, a mulligan on that and had a, had a redo. But, uh, yeah, I think he should have answered those questions. No question. Certainly wasn't the first guy who, who's ever lost a big tournament like in the fashion that he did. And at least in my recollection, all of them stood in front of those cameras afterwards. It was a little disappointed to see it go down like that. But, you know, Charlie, I got to ask you in terms of, you know, the PGA live, where, where are we at with the state of the PGA right now? You know, Bryson DeChamble wins that US Open. Obviously on the live roster. Does that matter? Where are we at the state of PGA? Let's start there. Yeah. We'll go, we'll go back one second. When, when media is, I will say, of the person, not of Rory's revenue is nearly 70% of the person is our media contract. You owe it to the media to do it back to what he should have done. So you got to know where you're, where you're, where you're getting fed from. So, but, but on the note of the live in the PGA tour, thank God, since Jan 1, I've been off the board and, uh, I thought it was good, easier for these guys. Once, once everything was going on, but it seems to be just getting harder and harder. But I know they're in, obviously, I know as much as probably you guys know as a media knows, they're in discussion. There is, uh, talking going on, uh, which I believe in when I slowed down a lot of last year, uh, no, obviously there's not much report on them in the last year. But, uh, we have a great partner with SSG, uh, which is enabling us to, uh, I would say hopefully partner with PIP and come up with the strategic plan to be partners going forward because I think if you break it all down, what's best for the game of golf? In the world is for all of us to be together and play under one umbrella and not be separate, separate identities. Uh, so where are we at with that? I don't know, but I think, I think after the period of time that lives going on in producing a product, there's not a lot of, I mean, it's gaining momentum, but not a ton of momentum. Uh, the major championships, I personally think of gain from them, they could argue that they lose some of those live player because not world ranking points and so on and so forth, but their top players are playing the majors. And it gives the spike to the major championships. We've already had the spike. I mean, people want to watch us all play together. So more people are even tuning in, or I would say in general, for the game of golf, during the major championships, our ratings are pretty stagnant, not going up, not going down, uh, I would say for the most part, but it's something that to gain our fans back and the loyalty of our fans. I think we sort of need to be together and give PIP the best product out there for you guys to watch. We were entertainers. I mean, we're competitors, but I mean, the reason why we, we make my, I mean, we're all competitors, but the reason why we're playing for the millions of dollars is because of the fans watching it and engagement that we have with them. And, uh, I mean, what Price did was, uh, riveting with the fans. I mean, he sort of turned over a whole new leaf, uh, from when he was on the PJ Tour to live tour and he's, he's engaged probably more than anybody on the PJ Tour right now. And it was, it was great to watch him and brace all the fans and do what he did and show them what he showed. And then, and I'm a golf fan also. I'm a player, but I'm a fan and it was, it was great to watch. And I obviously, like he said, even once he really missed a three footer and went it that way, but Price went out and won that golf tournament. He got it up and down from Ford and probably the hardest, if he has every professional golfer, the hardest shot in all the golf is a 50 yard bunker shot. And he stuffed the six feet in US open conditions and US open pressure. You got to take your hat off to that and say, well done, Bryce. And then the way he answered the questions and his interviews were great. So I, I guarantee Bryce and all of a sudden earned a lot more fans because of that performance than, and then Rory did, that's for sure. Yeah. Scrabby's been a, uh, Bryce and Hader for a long time. Thanks Chris. Who's coming in, coming along in a Rory lover to see Rory lover. Yeah, we're going to get a weird spot. We're going to flop you here as you should. Charlie Hoffman is with us. Charlie's got a couple of top 10s this year on tour. And, you know, I mean, again, I think that's remarkable. I, you know, you're, you're been in the, in the game for so long, Charlie. I mean, 47 years old is, you know, that's it's a mole. Yeah. You're, you're still young. I mean, as far as some of us are concerned, but to finish the game in the game of professional sports, I'm old. I mean, no, there's no game of life. I'm not in the game. There's no doubt in professional sports. And I mean, to have two top 10s and you talked about you just wanted to be healthy. You just wanted to feel good. Where are we here as we hit the midway point of the sea? I mean, are you still holding up good? I'm holding up good. My team that I established through trainers, chiropractors, swing instructors, we're, we're all kicking on all cylinders, everything's, everything's great. It's actually a it's been good traveling. It's usually my hardest part. I think we figured something out with some new gadgets while I fly to keep sort of the blood flow going and everything going. And it's really worked out as of late. So I feel healthy. I mean, this life in general, I mean, I was out on the water this morning on the jet ski with my daughter wakeboarding and no pain usually sitting down pain going over bumps is pain. Zero pain whatsoever. I feel great. I now that could change tomorrow night because I've been through this before, but has a righteous second. Everything's great. And I'm looking forward to going on. I took this week off the search strategically hanging out with the family. And as I say, you can't buy memories in that. And you get you got to make them. So it's been a time with the family during the summer here in San Diego. I'm trying to take trying to play golf competitively. But most importantly, make sure my kids remember me and have a have a great time during the summers when we can spend some time together. Yeah. Well, we really appreciate you taking some time out to to hang out with us. Don't pull a muscle answering this last question, Charlie. But I am playing Tori Pines for the first time ever on Friday. And I'm, I got to be honest, I mean, I'm pretty freaked out about it. Freaked out. I am. I don't know why. It's a golf course. Yeah. Well, but you've seen me on, you know, certain courses, things don't always go my way. I mean, I'm, you know, I think I'm good enough to play a little over bogey golf, but just give me anything I can take with me out to the course Friday, Charlie. I'll, it'll be forever appreciated. You know, Tori, Tori, you're playing the south, I assume. Yes, we are. Yeah, we are. The south golf course is the use of the caliber golf course. Now the rough, I assume not going to be up. I haven't been out there since January or February. So what do you want to do, Tori? It's actually not that demanding the golf course off the tee, I would say. I mean, it's a long golf course. So if you play the correct tee, so don't, you don't need to play all the way back and make a play, no, over 7,500 yards, whatever it is, just go out and play the correct tee. But most importantly, the greens are, the greens are structured very hard to almost repel balls and like the backs, little shells hit the center of the green. Don't, don't worry about where that pen is and try to, try to make a putt from the center of the green is getting up and down around those greens. Sometimes challenging. So I wouldn't try to challenge those pens too much. You just try to hit those center of the greens and hopefully make a couple long cuts for birdie. Ah man, I'm so, I made a long one today and I think that used it up for the week. I'm a little worried about that. Can you explain Bogey golf? Now that you have a professional golfer? Hold on, you made a long cut. You made a long cut. You used it for the week or the year. I'm not. Maybe the year. This one was long enough to baby and use it for the year. I think you're right, Charlie. Yeah, Matt gets mad at me because I, in my head, I play Bogey golf. So I, I add a, I add a stroke to every hole. And if I get a Bogey, then I call it a par in my head. I say that's not a thing. Matt gets mad at me for doing that, but I don't know. That's how I make my way around the course. So I don't know what your thoughts on that are, but. Your thoughts are whatever you, you know your handicap and that's what's great about the game of golf is if you keep a valid handicap, I could go give you a extra amount of shots and we could have a great competition. That's what's great about. If you relevant, what par is for someone, I would say average golfers, but if you keep, if you actually keep score, you can have a great round of great competition with anybody, no matter what their hand, I mean, I like the game with the guys on the golf course. And I've had some of my best matches against the a 17, a 14 handicap, because guess what? They're getting a shot on every single hole. And I've got to play my butt off. They make a par, it's a birdie. They make a birdie, it's an eagle. And so I really enjoy those, sometimes those competitions and amongst friends that are giving a ton of strokes, they make me sort of, I mean, every shot means something because if you make a par, I've got to make a birdie. But so your thought process is fine, but I would challenge you to maybe try to make some par for birdies, not just bogeys for par. Yes, I challenge one of these days, one of these days, maybe not Friday, but maybe the next time after that. Charlie, thanks so much for joining us. Have a great happy 4th of July. And you know, you're welcome anytime. So you're, you know, you want to check in, just give us a call. We'd love to have you on. And good luck. Enjoy the week with your family. Thanks, fellow. Enjoy the fourth. Awesome. We'll talk soon. There he goes. All right, thanks. Charlie Hoffman right there. Our PGA tour guy, talking, talking some golf. And you know, some pointed comments, but fair, about Rory McElroy. I like that. I love having Charlie on. I love having Charlie on, because he's even though he may not be comfortable answering questions. He always answers them. He does. And what he said. He always gives a good answer too. What he said about Rory was spot on. I mean, yeah, now it's up to you to tweet that out so he gets in the maximum amount of trouble. No, he said he was trying not to. He was going to answer in a way that wouldn't create viral sensation. That's what he said. Charlie Hoffman trashes Rory McElroy on radio show. You could, you could do that. You won't do that, but you could. He, he, are you going to adjust your bogey golf now? No, he's just said he's challenging me to be better, which is what I am challenging myself to be better. But in the meantime, you know, it sounds better to be plus two, but then plus 22. I'm gonna, I'm gonna attack. I feel like we're at this point now where I could text him and ask him if we could play golf in the off season. That's three together. So and Charlie, of course, a three are you and Charlie, you're Tony and him. Me, you, Tony, Charlie, God, that's here we go. Daily, give it next. Welcome back to Gwen and Chris. Five o'clock here, three o'clock there. Tony Gwen Jr, Chris Ello, Matt Scrabie. Hour number two. I went to Chris. Would you for four hours? Excuse me, with you for four hours today, as we had no round table to give you. So it's just, you get just no whole bar of Chris, myself, and Mr. Scrabie. I gotta tell you that Chris, just real quick that Charlie Hoffman interview just, I don't know. I'm excited. It was fun. I just liked having him on. It was a good interview. It was fun. Okay. No, that's good. I like it. Yeah. He's a great, great, great having him on. That's what you got for me right now. Yeah. Tony's coming in hot with a take here. Oh, yeah, go for it. Sorry. No, I'm not. I was just gonna tell you, I was just gonna tell you Chris that a couple people have, you know, chimed in about playing. Oh, Tory Pines. Tory Pines. And they're just saying stuff like, keep it out of it. Keep it out of the rough as long as you keep it a fair way. Yeah. I honestly wish I had that control. I mean, if I could just, you know, keep it in the fairway, I would play golf like all the time. But it's because I consistently can't keep it in the fairway. That's why I don't play. It's not fun to be hitting out in the rough all the time. So that is your advice, Chris. Keep it in the fairway. Keep it in the fairway. If I could keep it in the fairway and hit the center of the green, I wouldn't need to play bulky golf. Hey, here's the thing. If I could do those two things. Yeah, those are pretty tough for me. I couldn't help but think that as Charlie was telling me, Hey man, just, you know, hit it in the middle of the green. Okay. Don't aim for the edges of the green. Because you're good enough to hit the edges of the green. I'm pretty much aiming for anywhere on the dance floor. See, I think when they say keep it in the fairway, they mean by any means possible. If you tee off the first and you hit a slice into the rough, then in the tee off second, you hit a slice into the rough. Maybe you need to go to your three wood try to keep it in the fairway a little bit. No, I get to do some adjustment. No, look, I understand that you want to go. Look, 200 yards straight is better than 250 yards sliced. I mean, I'm aware. Yes, I'm quite aware because you lose a ton of distance. Tony was Tony's right though. If I could keep it in the fairway and hit the center of the green, I wouldn't have to worry about you've played with me scrape. I mean, I'm inconsistent enough. We're keeping in the fairway is a good challenge. That's not easy. If I could, if I could just, if I could purposely hit a warm burner 50 yards straight, I would do that. I would do that. I can't, I can't even do that on purpose. Like I can't do very much on purpose there is once in a blue moon, I'll try to hit a shot and I'll actually get somewhere in the vicinity of where I was trying. Yes. That is like a, a, that's just a great shot. That is an unbelievable shot for me. So, it's a beautiful feeling too, isn't it? Right. It's 100%. It's, it's, it's not enough to keep me coming out. So I'm going to need that feeling a little bit more if I'm going to give you five hours of my day. It is a long day, Tony, but we also know that you're just playing alongside Tony Gwen Jr. can change careers. They can just ask the greatest Scotty Schistler. That is true, my friend. He was just, he was just a normal guy when he played with you three years ago. And now he's Scotty Schistler. So he was, he was basically rookie of the year, right? And then now he's just the best player on the tour. On the tour, you have to say now, because Liv has so many good golfers that you can't say. He's the best player. He's the best player on the tour. Yeah, sure. I mean, I, the thing is Scotty Schistler wins one tournament. Now all of a sudden we talking about him like just come on. Scott Schistler was winning every other tournament. And I will say, I will say, Scott Schistler is very good, but he's not competing against the best guys in the world now. He's competing against the best guys that are left in the PGA tour. So some of these tournaments that he's winning aren't with the best players in the world that they used to have. So I mean, he, he is absolutely crushing golf this season. He's winning everything he enters. You want to know what I'm funny. I have a buddy that lives out here in Dallas. And clearly he's listening to the show because he just sent me a video of my shot of one of my golf shots. I don't know where he got this footage from, but it's of me shanking a ball somewhere on a different on a different hole, not even on the same. How does footage of that exist? I don't know. We can't find the footage of your home run. Yes, we can put it to you shaking a golf shot. Interesting. Yeah, how about that? Nonetheless, we have, you know, taken this segment long enough without doing what we're supposed to do. So let's go ahead and get to some daily gamut. Do you like money? I think about money a lot. Do you like money without doing anything? Ah, winning. Do you want to make money while watching sports? I think Washington is immortal luck. Washington. If you answer yes, this is your segment. It's just food. I've had the farmers dog food before. Oh no, I eat it. You've eaten it? No, no, no, no. You've had it? I've ordered it for my dog before and it looks gross. I mean, for human consumption. Have you had a spoonful? I would not go that far. Would not go that far. That was a trick question. You look like your face wasn't about to say yes? No, I've done a lot of weird things before. I ate a dog bone back in the day, one of those milk bones or whatever. I guarantee Bryson all of a sudden earned a lot more fans because of that performance and then Rory did. That's for sure. Yeah. Scrabby has been a Bryson hater for a long time. Thanks Chris. He's coming along in a Rory lover too. And Rory lover. Yeah, we're going to get a weird spot. We're going to flop you here. As you should, Charlie Hoffman is with us. So I really enjoy those, sometimes those competitions and amongst friends that are getting a ton of strokes, it makes me sort of, I mean, every shot means something because if you make a par, I've got to make a birdie. But so your thought process is fine, but I would challenge you to maybe try to make some par for birdies, not just bogeys for pars. Yes. One of these days, one of these days, one of these days, maybe not Friday, but maybe the next time after that. All right. Thanks. Charlie Hoffman right there. Our PGA tour guy talking, talking some golf and you know, some pointed comments, but fair about Rory McElroy. You know, I like that. I love having Charlie on. I love having Charlie on because he even though he may not be comfortable answering questions, he always answers. He does, and what he says gives a good answer to what he said about Rory was spot on. I mean, yeah, now it's up to you to tweet that out. So he gets in the maximum amount of trouble. No, he said he was trying not to. He was going to answer in a way that wouldn't create viral sensation. That's what he said. Charlie Hoffman trashes Rory McElroy on our radio show. You could do that. You won't do that, but you could. He, are you going to adjust your bogey golf now? No, he's just said he's challenging me to be better, which is what I don't challenge myself to be better. But in the meantime, you know, it sounds better to be plus two, but then plus twenty two. I'm going to, I'm going to tag. I feel like we're at this point now where I could text him and ask him if we could play golf in the off season. That's three together. So and Charlie, of course, a three or you, you're lonely in him. Me, you, Tony, Charlie. God, that's. Here we go. Daily game at next. Next up, Milwaukee is at Colorado. That's the only other game tonight in the big leagues. Rob Zazinsky, or says my, I can't hear it. This is, this is a real like by a vowel name Z-A-S-T-R-Y-Z-N-Y. There's only one vowel in that name. Rob Zazriz, I can't even do it. I'm not even going to try. No, don't try. He's pitching from Milwaukee, Austin Gomber for the Rockies. Over under eleven and a half runs at Coors Field. Tony, I'm going to say Zazshney. You're going to try Zazshney. You're going to try Zazshney? Okay. All right. I'll let you try that. Zazshney. Zazshney. Yeah. You keep trying. There's an R in there. There's a couple of Y's, two Z's and N. I would say the Z. I'm going to say the Z is silent. There's no way they should be active. I think you should call Jesse in his hotel room during the break. And this would be actually a great challenge for Jesse. I don't, you know, I don't want to explode my, I don't want to explode my man's brain. He's already got enough ranger stuff. I throw this grenade at him. That might mess him up. You know what, he probably just looked back and go, it's Astrid. How do you know that? All right. We got to hurry Zazshney. All right. Over under Tony. What'd you say? I didn't hear. Did you say? Over under for what? 11 and a half runs. For the brewers and the rocks. Over. Over. Scrabby. Over. I'll say under the Rockies are still that bad. Don't lose nine to two. Won't go over. All right. There's our daily gambit for today. When we come back, I think it's Tony's turn to take us out. Yeah. When we come back, we'll try to talk some NBA, but there won't be that much time. We're going to Chris on the other side or some traffic. Okay. A couple of big stories in the NBA today, including one that just came down recently. We welcome you back to Gwen and Chris Cressello, Tony Gwen Jr. in Dallas, which is where Clay Thompson is going. Clay Thompson. Remember him? Scrabby. Your warriors. Part of the big three with splash bros. Yeah, it was a splash brother. He is now a, uh, I almost said brother. I just thought that he's a splash brother. No, I said brother. I made a point to get to her in because I didn't think I was I didn't think I was pulling up to say splash brother. Hey, you should have just went ahead with it. You wanted to splash brother. That's what Chris really wanted to say. That's him. That would hurt. That hurt my heart. I'm not going to lie. I thought Mr. Mr. James was willing to sacrifice some loot. Yeah, it sounded like he really wanted him to come to the Lakers. Yeah, it sounds like they there was a trade that that Lakers offered. Warriors, warriors and not interested. And so, you know, Clay gets a new start. You know, I think this was kind of inevitable. What I just read was that if he had gone back to wars, he would have been backing up the the young shooting guard that they have that backed him up last year. So I'm sure none of that was enticing. He gets to go to a place where he kind of seemingly fits really well. You got two ball handlers that I mean, his should make his life pretty easy in terms of doing what he does best, which is shoot the rock. I just, you know, to me, it seemed like it was a match made and have him come on back home where you belonged in the first place. Yes, his dad could have broadcast his games. Dad could have broadcasted his games. You could have been a part of the exclusive dad's broadcasting son's club with me, of course, right? And he didn't take that. You know, and so it's a little disappointing. I don't know where to be as a Laker fan right now. I'm quite like, I don't know where to be. We're in the middle of a free agency. You seemingly need to upgrade somewhere. You got a D'Angelo Russell that it sounds like you're trying to trade, that popped it back into his deal. You don't even necessarily technically have LeBron James yet. You have a son? He still wait. He still, yeah, I know we have a son. He's trying to stir something up. That's all. He is. Of course he is. I just think it's hilarious that the Lakers draft Bronnie when no one thought he would be drafted and then LeBron opts out of his contract with the Lakers. I know he thinks he's gonna come back. I know. It's not going anywhere. Clay Thompson, you just want there to be some TMZ element of it. Yes, you did. Clay Thompson, by the way, still holds one of sports's great records as far as I'm concerned. Fourteen threes in one game against the Bulls in October of 2018. Is that why you remember it so well? I do. It was painful and I do recall, if I'm not mistaken, I think the Warriors had 92 points at halftime that game. Yeah, I do recall it's on pace for almost for a two-hundo against the Bulls. But yeah, Clay Thompson's a Maverick. The other big news is that Jason Tatum is rich beyond his wildest imaginations. Wow, he's rich, huh? Yeah, I think he already was. But now really rich, really rich. Five years, 314 million dollar extension. That is 63 million. What is it? 63 million a year? 62.8. Oh my goodness gracious. And the Celtics also extended Derek White. Is that the guy from Colorado? Yeah, 126 million dollars. He went to legends high school in Denver, which is where my niece goes. So they're big fans of his there, of course. And so the Celtics extend, let's see, 440 million dollars worth of money today. Is it any wonder then that the team is up for sale? Poor people don't have any money left, I guess. So they've just put the team over sale. Or which is probably more likely they found out they could sell it for a lot more than they bought it for cats, which is usually how why they sell unless unless there's some like divorce or something coming up where the assets are going to have to be divided up, they only sell when they're about to make a oh, they're gonna make so much money. It's not even funny. Paul George, by the way, 76ers, four years, 212 million dollars. Did I see a tweet of him working out at the Jam Center here in San Diego? I'm sure it was Paul George. Somebody tweeted it out. Let me see somebody tweeted it out. I thought it was Paul George. Well, listen, first of all, anything that weakens the Clippers, I'm all full. B, I think this is a good fit. And you know, I'm all for competitive basketball. This gives a team, you know, a really formidable opponent now for the Celtics in the East because they were formidable when Embiid was healthy. Now you get these three maxi Paul George and Embiid. I think it only sweetens the pot. I mean, that's not forget. The Bucks will probably be a lot better than they were this year, year two of Lillard and answer to Copo and what's the Middleton? Our middle is a middleman. Yeah. Middleton. Middleton. Yeah. Yes. I think the East is going to be fun to watch. They got three good solid teams now. And here come the Bulls too. I read somewhere that Demar DeRozan is like had it now because they traded Coruso doesn't want to go back there. So we'll see. I believe that I believe that he is on the list of players that Lebron's willing to take a pay cut to bring on. I think I would still take him, Tony. He's still got something that guy. Yeah, no, I'm with you. I think I would love to have Demar on. I really enjoyed watching him, even though the team hasn't been fun to watch the last couple of years when he he gets it going with that mid range. Forget it for get it. Chris Paul's the other big name he signed in San Antonio. I I love this move. Okay, you know, it shouldn't win by Yama to have Chris Paul there. First of all, for Chris Paul at his age to go to a team that is likely not well, at least going in, we expect them not to be very good. Right. I think says a lot about him. He does this often. I mean, it's not usually by choice. This is by choice, but he got traded to OKC, turn them into a legitimate ball club. Everywhere he goes, the teams win. Now they may not win the whole thing, but they get better. And so I think it's a it's a great move. If if I'm when Ben Yama, I'm like, yo, this is you, I couldn't have asked for a better point guard to actually pass me the ball. There's so many clips, and I don't know how true this is of people making clips of seemingly the Spurs players, icing him out or not trying to pass him the ball. I don't know how true that is because, you know, social media can make anything look like it's a legitimate cause. But I think this is a great fit for him to have that that type of point guard. Who's my man? The referee came out and said Chris Paul was like the biggest headache in the National Basketball Association. Did you see that one? No, I did not a month ago. No. Oh, yeah, a month ago. I mean, well, I mean, go through the role we talked about it is why I'm bringing it up silly silly. Is it the one that that they have beef? I don't think so. It wasn't it wasn't Scott. No, no, it wasn't him. It was some other guy that's, you know, not in the league, but he said Chris Paul. Anyway, he he confirmed what I think because that Chris Paul's not a great guy. But that's why I've remembered it because it fit my narrative. That's all. All right. More than Gwyn and Chris. Just like the Twitter folks out there. Yes, right. That's it. Yeah, you gotta gotta take him when you can get him. Smoke him when you got him, Tony. Smoke him when you got it. It's gonna break. I'm going in Chris. 342 Tony Gwen Jr. Chris Elomat Scraven. Let's get right to it because we have not been very good on being on the clock and all the way here that it's not as big a deal anymore. We certainly want to hold the line there. So we want to be clock integrity. What makes you say that, Tony, that's not long. I just said, you know, that's just hear that from Scravey, maybe? No, I don't know. I didn't hear it to people all of a sudden. I didn't hear it. That should be heard it from you for me. I've never followed the bus. I've never followed the clock from the beginning. No time at all. You know, we want to keep clock integrity. That's what, you know, keeps a good show rolling. So Scravey, you got a little fair foul for us. Let's get to it. All right. This is not open worthy yet. We still need to make sure that we like this segment, but here we go with fair or foul. First, baseball coverage on 97 through the fan is presented by T-Mobile switch to T-Mobile. And you can get tons of benefits and still save on every plan versus AT&T and Verizon. Use their savings calculator to find out how at T-Mobile dot com slash switch. Now, last week we did this and I looked for some some harsher tweets this week, but basically I'm going to read these tweets. And I did have to put them into readable format because some of these are not very easy to read. And you guys tell me if it's fair or foul. So let's go with the first one. And it's about Fernando Tati's junior. And here's how it goes. It's no coincidence. See, I've already messed it up. Thank you. It's no coincidence to me that Fernando Tati's junior goes out of the lineup and the Padres goes six and two cents. Fernando was only as good as the PEDs took him and it speaks volumes. This offense decides to wake up when he was removed from it. No one will want to hear this, but trade him. Cut bait on a bad contract and never look back. Fair foul, Chris. This is a this is not even close to the foul line. This is like sprayed off up into the upper deck. Oh, okay. So it's like, yes, okay. I see what you're saying. It's a really bad foul. Well, I mean, you can always make a case, I guess that somebody's overpaid and it's a 10. What is it? It's a 10 year contract. So maybe eventually, but I mean, this is the cost of doing business for one of the, you know, most exciting players in baseball. This is stupid tweet. Tony Fair foul. That's foul. It's a crummy tweet. But, you know, this is kind of the gate that gets opened once you've been involved with something like this. People can just say ridiculous things and have a leg to stand on at least in terms of that being a thought in people's heads. Yeah, it's clearly clearly the insertion of Bryce Johnson as good as if a guest as he was Friday in replace of Fernando has spurred the Padres to this hot streak. Yeah, I mean, it's just a dumb, dumb tweet on his face. The chatter, the the commenters and on YouTube, you can watch this by the way, YouTube just go to night is go to YouTube and search 97 through the fan, but they, I didn't see Tony's reaction. Did you apparently like faint or something to me? I just, I just, I just went to sleep on. There is like Tony just died over there on this one, but I knew you guys were not going to like, see, I have problems finding an actual fair tweet, but we'll keep going and see if we'll over find one. All right, next tweet. Don't let those Padres shills tell you this team is good. Their best picture right now is Matt Waldron. You and Joe, Joe stole the bag by getting injured immediately after they got paid. This team is going to be lucky to hang around until the end of August. If you tell me this is a playoff team, I'll laugh in your face, Tony. Read it to me again. Sorry. I don't don't let those Padres shills tell you this team is good. Their best picture right now is Matt Waldron. You and Joe stole the bag by getting injured immediately after they got paid. This team is going to be lucky to hang around until the end of August. If you tell me this team is a playoff team, I'll laugh in your face. Where are the Padres currently in the playoff standings? I believe they're a wildcard team. No, so they're a playoff team. Yeah, another dumb, another dumb one. Yes, Matt Waldron is their best picture on in the rotation right now. And yet they have won nine of their last 11 despite that. Also, their best player right now is a rookie. So what is that? Yeah. Yeah, it is just, you know, just means, just means they have a lot of guys contributing this year. Let's be honest. This is what this is what a team is supposed to look like, you know, a bunch of guys kind of chipping in and having some success, you know, Camp Asal gets off to a good year. He good, good start. He cools off. The guy's yoga steps up. And now he's swinging the bat well. I mean, go figure. He just, you know, guys all over the line of just doing different things. I don't know. Yeah, I'm sorry. My man feels like he needs to spit in somebody's face. But I I'm pretty sure if he spit in the wrong person's face, it could be lights out. Chris Ferifel. There's a drive down the left field foul line way foul. Oh, okay. Do you fear that long? Yeah, I was like, oh, is that a home run? Yeah, I mean, well, it could be right. I mean, we don't know. There's 74 games left. They're not in the playoffs yet. But, you know, I'm pretty happy with what's happened here. And I don't know that we've changed our tune in the last 12 days, just because they've won nine out of 11. Because I think I've always felt like this team could be better. I was more frustrated than I am now. But I felt like this team was, you know, their star players still haven't played great. So there's a lot of room for upside. I think that's a, you know, this, this tweet is trying to point out that there's room for downside with some of the other guys. But, it's, I guess it just depends on how you want to look at it. It's a good point. Chris brings up. We definitely don't know. And I don't think any of us have changed our tune, right? We've said this team played 500. And when the big guys got going, it could change. That has happened. However, what is a, what is a fact is that they've had, they haven't had Joe and you longer than they've had him, had them during the course of this season at this point. And they still are where they are, despite not having their number one, their number two pitchers going, they haven't, they've missed Manny at parts. They've not had Manny at, you know, playing his best during parts, same with Tati, same with Bogey, missing, they've missed him for a, I don't know, he's been out of line for, which was Atlanta, is when he got hurt. So, I mean, they're doing all of this despite not having those guys. I would say that that is a positive, not a negative. All right. Someone just said, we should change the name of the segment to Scrappy Reads Dumb Tweets. So maybe that's, maybe that's our next segment here. Or you could just call it foul. No, that's true, that's true. There hasn't been any fair yet. Next one is about Manny Machado. Manny Machado is the master of making mediocre to bad stats look amazing because he has a good game every once in a while. Two home runs today means he's going to hit into 10 double plays and strike out on a slider low and away five more times before he hits another home run. Fair foul, Tony. I think that's another foul. Are we, is it immediately foul? Like, foul right back or is it, like, down the line? Give it to me again. It was so, Manny Machado is the master of making mediocre to bad stats look amazing because he has a good game every once in a while. Two home runs today means he's going to hit into 10 double plays and strike out on a low slider away five more times where he hits before he hits another home run. 10 might be excessive. 10 might be excessive. I think all, I think, you know, I don't know if this person only watches like 10 games a year. But over the course of 162 games, if you end up hitting 270 and you have 25 to 30 homers and you have 90 to 100 RBIs, you're having a lot more success than everybody else in the league. And so I say that to say that is pretty much what Manny gives you. And you can't acquire those numbers over a course of time unless you are pretty good at what you do. The Padres weren't a team of very good team last year. So of course, his numbers are going to come in a state of, you know, nothingness, if you will. But if he puts up those same numbers on a team that goes to play offs, guess what? He's having that impact. So I don't know. This is, you know, I've done to see this a little bit more than I'd like to see it. I feel like on social media, it pertains to Manny and this idea that he doesn't perform well when it matters. I don't think that's true. I think maybe last year you might be able to say he he underperformed, but couldn't say that the year before. You couldn't say that in 20 when he was what third in MVP or whatever it was. Like, I just think this is a short term short term memory when you when you go that route. Dan wants to know is Brian Kenny sending these tweets and no, Dan, he's not sure. Yes, I'm positive. You know what? I should just go to his Twitter and just we just go through that. Chris? Well, I was thinking about this whole notion that man, he swings and misses and strikes out all the time in between his, you know, hits. He struck out 69 times this year. Sounds like a lot until you realize that Ellie, you know, Aaron judge has struck out 93 times. Yeah. Yeah. And I think we consider Aaron judge right now the best hitter in baseball without questions. So, you know, these guys do swing and miss and sliders down and away. You know, they have a good pitch. You'll get them. But I so I that's why this is foul. A bridge version of Fairfell. This last one, I thought was slightly funny. I don't care that answer your questions. Scrappy. It was, it started off in the air like down the line as it got past third and then it was pretty foul. Okay. Alone foul by the way after. I don't care that Louisa rise can slap some singles together because he might be worse defensively at first base than Eric Cosmer. Oh, he dropped. Oh my god. Here we go with this notion. He didn't catch a ground. He didn't catch a throw across the diamond. Which is true. He should have caught that. But he's picked up far more those that he's dropped and especially just fielding the ball at first base. So, I guess that's a that's a I'm gonna say that's fair. Eric Cosmer is a better defensive player than Louisa Ross. All right. That might be fair. Okay. Here we go by a lot. All right. Christmas and fans next. Hey, here we go into the four o'clock hour. Welcome back to Gwen and Chris. Chris Elo Tony Gwen Jr. Tony's in Dallas where the Padres tomorrow will begin a three game series with the Texas Rangers Matt Scrabby alongside here in the Odyssey Palace two hours down two to go. A little round of Chris versus the fans coming up and a couple of phone lines actually open right now at 833-288-0973. If you'd like to take your shot at winning fabulous prizes here on the Gwen and Chris program. We have a new prize for the month of July starts today. Yeah, it's kind of funny. Everybody always says, can you believe it's July 1st? I usually, yeah, it is. I can believe it. Chris would be that guy. I am. I'm kind of that guy. I can't believe it. It's gone by pretty quick. Yes. All right. We're halfway through the baseball set. Where do you stand on the guy that's like, oh, God, I wish you would stop raining and the weather would warm up. And then as soon as it does, God, I wish you would cool off a little bit. Yeah. Now I can't stand that guy actually. Okay, good. First of all, it doesn't rain that much in San Diego. Right. And to hear people, including people of my own family complain about how much it's raining when you take into account the entire year of San Diego. That's right. And they make it seem like the monsoons are here and like, we're just, we're never going to get out of this. This rain is just bumbling us. Yes, your wife actually goes to the store to buy an arc. It's gonna have to two by two take the family out. Chris, it is no sooner than the summer hits and it gets to like 85. Oh my God. It says, man, it says, I wish it was just cool off. Please go off. I can't stand this. I had a new people. I had a little debate over the weekend with someone in AA about global warming. No, it wasn't that we started the debate on global warming. I just said, it feels like San Diego is becoming hotter as each with each year more extreme. Yeah, it doesn't say it's more humid. We almost had a hurricane last year. I mean, things are happening, but this guy does not believe in global warming. He doesn't think there's anything wrong with our environment. All right. Well, thank you for passing that along. We're all so much better because we know that. I tell you, we could use an al gore about now, but that's another story. Oh, yeah, Chris, the plot. I know I'm a little little commentator now. You have a chance here to win a trip or qualify for a trip to the Rio Las Vegas. And that includes a two night stay dinner for two and a day bed at the Rio pool. I heard many times that the Rio had like the most bomb of a buffet like great buffet. I don't know if it's still a buffet. I don't know if it's still the hey, the Rio used to have I haven't been there a long time. Yeah, but it used to be the buffet that everybody went right. That's right. It was I think it kind of goes around the young folks say lit lit. Very good. Not bomb. Not bomb. No, that's what that's what us young folks would have said back in the day that that buffet was bomb. That's old folks go with they would say lit. Yeah, let's all folks are still coming around to the bomb part. So you just you just I just got that. Yeah, that just came on to my audience. Wait, what was what was the what was the term for lit bomb in the 70s? Yeah, awesome. Tubular? No, I said awesome. I wasn't a surfer. Tubular, we might have been kind of just for the beach crowd. But awesome was a big one. This is what the Ninja Turtles do. Yeah, that's right. That's right. That's right. Turtles in a half shell. Come on. Tubular. All right, let's play some Chris versus the fans. If you had one shot, one opportunity to take down the human all manack himself, how would he do now is your time? Listen to me, this guy is dangerous. Now is your opportunity to win a prize. Well, I hope you know Jen for Chris versus the fans starts now on 97 three the fan. All right. You have to hear the rules. You have to make it through three questions. Each question will get more difficult. If you get the question right, you move on. If you get it wrong and Chris gets it right, you're eliminated. But if Chris gets it wrong, maybe move on to the next question or you win. If you're a first time player player, thank you. Let me know. Let us know before you get into it and you will get that question for free today. All right. Let's head over to our phone callers because we will start with Ricardo. Hello, Ricardo. How are you? Hello, I'm good. Okay. That's awesome. I'm going to ask you the first question in just one second. But someone on the chat says yellow prices, the bees knees. Yeah, yeah, that might be in the 40s. That's pretty funny. All right, Ricardo, you guys are so common. I'm telling you, one of these days you're all going to be this old. So just, you know, enjoy it while you can. You know, it's like the time that I was in college, I was 18 and I was talking to my mom about I wanted to take a girl on a date, but I had no idea what I was doing still don't. But I was like, where should I take her mom? Should I take her to a movie? Should I take her to dinner? And she's like, you know what? You should take her and get a coke. I was like, what are we? What are we? What are we? The coke? What are you guys going to share? Coke with two straws? Is that like soda bar that I can go to? Come on. She's going to take it and get some coke. She's going to hate me for saying that because inside family job. All right, Ricardo, enough of you waiting on hold here for us to start. Let's go. Question number one. Who leads the Padres in home runs right now? Yeah. Okay. Stay there. Christopher, the player they could easily, you know, live without and the player who without they are much better. Fernando Tatis Jr. According to our fair foul shirt. Yes, that is correct. I'm sorry, Ricardo. Fernando has 14 home runs on the season. Let's go to the next squad. It's a very, uh, how many guys have gotten double figures? No, I bet you they got six or seven guys and double figures. Oh, it's very, Jake, Totti, Manny, Profar, Profar. I think that's it. Five. Gosh, Yoka's got to be close. He's nine. I think he's got nine. He's got nine. That's, I mean, there, I mean, I don't know. I'm not going to go through every lineup, but not a lot of teams have everyone in double figures like that. You, that should be a Chris. Then I'm honestly saying that would be a great Chris deep dive thing. Yes, I'll have double digit home run. This is just how bored I am tonight. Okay. Here we go to our next contestant, Nick. Hello, Nick. Hey guys, how's it going? Pretty good. Here we go. Question number one. What company does Scott van Pelt work for? ESPN ESPN. Thank you. Do you like him? Scrape me? Yeah. Uh, yeah, I like Scott van Pelt. I think he's pretty good. I do too. I, I love Scotty. Yeah, he's good. I don't like the way the, I don't like the form of the new sports center though. Can't say I've watched it. Like the, you mean the one like, uh, that he's the, the SVP thing? Yeah, there's too much, too much interviewing, too much milling around. Yeah, let's get to the, I'm going to see sports center for the high one. I think they've, I think they feel like we get our highlights elsewhere now. I think that's why they've changed it. I'm not saying they're right. Well, I think they know you might, you know, I don't know. I don't enjoy sports center the way I used to. And I, maybe I need to change my idea of what sports center is. My favorite segment on Scott van Pelt is easily. Yeah. Would you say bad beats? Yeah, bad beats. I love that. And I like the guy who's with him on the bad beats. That guy's fun. I don't, gamble either. I just think it's a funny segment. I enjoy watching it. Yeah. I think that the Scott van Pelt thing they wanted to do something like kind of like a late night show because it goes on so late on the east coast and lots of interviews, lots of stuff like that for the late night peeps. Yeah. I mean, that thing. No, I know what Tony's saying, though. Maybe, maybe I need to change my, my idea of what I'm watching. Change your expectations. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just, I still stuck on like tuning in and just getting just highlights and the commentary over the high. I just need to change it, I guess. Maybe it's a meat problem. All right, Nick. Thank you for hanging on. Here we go. Question. Yeah. For having to put up. Who got the win for the Padres on Saturday? That would be Colek. Colek. Stay there, Nick. Chris, who got the win for the Padres on Saturday? Oh, King did. King. Colek might have got it on Friday. By the way, do you like Michael King doing the Blake Snell interview every day after he pitches now? Have you seen it? No. Oh, okay. You mean like, we've seen it. You know, the one with Don and Mud for like a whole inning. They, you know, they put a microphone on him in the dugout. I always used to be Blake Snell. Now it's Michael King is doing that. This is, this is just because I work in like a industry where you know you have a specific amount of time, but I love it when the inning goes on for like 35 minutes and nothing to talk about anymore. Like, it won't let him go. I don't understand why the producers are like, can't they just say, yeah, it's literally the worst thing that could happen. Like, aiming go too long. Like, you much rather inning go too short than go too long, right? Too short. You can say, you can stay for another inning. Yeah. Yeah. If it's too long, and you like, you're just dragging it out. Yeah. Here's the other thing. How about this? There's been a couple now instances where it's not necessary to Padres, but someone's doing the on field interview and they've made an error. What's happened to a fly ball? King happened again. The ground ball. That that'll make guys be like, yeah, especially because you know what happens, right? Social media gets that they get off the field. They stop shorties guys checking their social media and they're getting crushed for being on being on the interview and not making the play. And they don't make guys be like, yeah, I think I'm good this time around. Allow me to give a rare compliment to Juan Soto, who made a couple of running catches last year when he was being interviewed. Oh, did a nice job. All right. We'll be there. Maybe they need to interview him more on it. What do KK say? Wow. How about that? A little compliment for the Soto kid. There you go. Yeah. KK said they're paying me. So I'll keep doing them. They're paying. They're paying like that pop. Yeah, let's say that maybe they won't reconsider. All right. Let's go to our next contestant, Chris and San Diego. We got some lines open 8 3 3 2 8 0 9 7 3. Chris, wait, wait, we're quick. We're quick. I'll go ahead. We'll do I'll say my comment after our next call. All right, Chris, you ready to play? Chris? Hello? Yeah. Ready to go. Okay. Here we go. Got your radio turned down. All right. Make sure you trigger radio down, Chris, and that might be causing a bit of a delay. All right. My son's next to me. He's the old. Oh, good. Okay. All right. What's his name? Yeah. What's your son's name? A little shout out Jeremy. Jeremy. All right. Good. All right, Jeremy. All right. Here we go, Chris. Second question. I'm going to give you one of those names. I'm a name three players. You tell me what team they played for. Oh, tough. Tom Brady. Rob Gronkowski. Blaine Gabbard. Who, what team did they play for? Oh, Blaine Gabbard. I'm going to have to go to the bucket. Here's the the bucket. Here's his correct. No way. Chris. Good thing. And he was trying to be tricky. I was. He was trying to be real tricky. I see you because I said Tom Brady. Yeah, you're pretty. You're bringing up the past on me here. I'm a bill spent. Oh, I'm sorry. Oh, yeah. It's like Tom Brady Rob Gronkowski. I got them. You didn't have anybody anybody. Everybody knew and plus with Tom Brady, there's only two choices. So it was a lousy one. Sorry. Okay. Let's go to our next conversation. I just question. Let's go or no, not our next test in our next question. Oh, wait. It's San Diego for question number three. This is for the championship. Coming into today, who leads baseball in batting average. Changes every day. This morning was in the paper and I thought of it because I know that Stephen Quand is going to be leading soon, but he still doesn't have enough to qualify. So the leader is Luis Rengeefo of the Angels, I believe by one point, over like five people. Red Heat 3 17. It's correct. Sorry, Chris. Sorry. I saw that this morning and I was surprised by it. We still need to make sure that we like this segment, but here we go with fair or foul. First, baseball coverage on 97 through the fan is presented by T-Mobile, switch to T-Mobile, and you can get tons of benefits and still save on every plan versus AT&T and Verizon. Use their savings calculator to find out how at t-mobile.com/switch. Now, last week we did this and I look for some some harsher tweets this week, but basically I'm going to read these tweets and I did have to put them into readable format because some of these are not very easy to read. And you guys tell me if it's fair or foul. So let's go with the first one and it's about Fernando Tati's Jr. And here's how it goes. It's no coincidence. See, I've already messed it up. Thank you. It's no coincidence to me that Fernando Tati's Jr. goes out of the lineup and the Padres goes six and two cents. Fernando was only as good as the PEDs took him and it speaks volumes. This offense decides to wake up when he was removed from it. No one will want to hear this, but trade him cut bait on a bad contract and never look back. Fair foul, Chris. This is a this is not even close to the foul line. This is like sprayed off up into the upper deck. Oh, okay. So it's like, yes. Okay. I see what you're saying. It's a really bad foul. Well, I mean, you can always make a case that I guess that somebody's overpaid and it's a 10. What is it? It's a 10 year contract. So maybe eventually, but I mean, this is the cost of doing business for one of the, you know, most exciting players in baseball. This is stupid tweet. Tony Fair foul. It's foul. It's a it's a crummy tweet. But, you know, this is kind of the gate that gets opened once you've you've been involved with something like this. People can just say ridiculous things and have a leg to stand on at least in terms of that being a thought in people's heads. Yeah, it was clearly clearly the insertion of Bryce Johnson as good as if a guest as he was Friday in replace of Fernando has spurred the Padres to this hot streak. I mean, it's just a dumb dumped tweet on his face. The chatter, the the commenters and on YouTube, you can watch this, by the way, YouTube just go to night is go to YouTube and search 97 through the fan, but they I didn't see Tony's reaction. Did you apparently like faint or something? I just I just went to sleep on because there was like Tony just died over there on this one. But I knew you guys were not gonna like see I have problems finding an actual fair tweet, but we'll keep going and see if we'll over find one. All right, next tweet. Don't let those Padres shills tell you this team is good. Their best pitcher right now is Matt Waldron. You and Joe Joe stole the bag by getting injured immediately after they got paid. This team is going to be lucky to hang around until the end of August. If you tell me this is a playoff team, I'll laugh in your face, Tony. Read it to me again. Sorry. Don't don't let those Padres shills tell you this team is good. Their best pitcher right now is Matt Waldron. Yes, Matt Waldron is their best pitcher on in the rotation right now. And yet they have won nine of their last 11 despite that. Also their best player right now is a rookie. So what is that? Yeah, yeah, it's just, you know, it just means if he just means they have a lot of guys contributing this year, let's be honest. This is what this is what a team is supposed to look like. You know, a bunch of guys kind of chipping in and having some success, you know, Camp Asal gets off to a good year. He good, good start. He cools off. The guy's yoga steps up and now he's swinging the bat well. I mean, go figure. He has this, you know, guys all over the line of just doing different things. I don't know. Yeah, I'm sorry, my man feels like he needs to spit in somebody's face. But I'm pretty sure if he spit in the wrong person's face, it could be lights out. Chris Ferifal. There's a drive down the left field foul line way foul. Okay. That's right. I'm gonna fear that long. Yeah. I was like, I was watching. I was like, Oh, is that a home run? Oh, oh, no. I mean, well, it could be right. I mean, we don't know. There's 74 games left. They're not in the playoffs yet. But, you know, I'm pretty happy with what's happened here. And I don't know that we've changed our tune in the last 12 days, just because they've won nine out of 11. Because I think I've always felt like this team could be better. I was more frustrated then than I am now. But I felt like this team was, you know, their star players still haven't played great. So there's a lot of room for upside. I think that's a, you know, this, this tweet is trying to point out that there's room for downside with some of the other guys. But I guess it just depends on how you want to look at it. It's a good boy. Chris brings up. We definitely don't know. And I don't think any of us have changed your tune, right? We've said this team played 500. And when the big guys got going, it could change. That has happened. However, what is a, what is a fact is that they've had, they haven't had Joe in you longer than they've had him, had them during the course of this season at this point. And they still are where they are despite not having their number one, their number two pitchers going. They haven't. They've missed Manny at parts. They've not had Manny at, you know, playing his best during parts. Same with Tati, same with Bogey. Missed it, missed him for, well, I don't know. He's been out of the line for which was Atlanta is when he got hurt. So I mean, they're doing all of this despite not having those guys. I would say that that is a positive, not a negative. All right. So someone just said, we should change the name of this segment to Scrabie Reads, dumb tweets. So maybe that's maybe that's our next segment here. Or you could just call it foul. Oh, yeah, sure. That's a bit any fair yet. I think this is another foul. Are we immediately felt like felt right back or is it like down the line? Give it to me again. It may be a shot. It was the master of making mediocre to bad stats look amazing because he has a good game every once in a while. Two home runs today mean he's going to hit into 10 double plays and strike out on a low slider away five more times where he hits before he hits another home run. Tim might be excessive. I think all I think, you know, I don't know if this person only watches like 10 games a year, but over the course of 162 games, if you end up hitting 270 and you have 25 to 30 homers and you have 90 to 100 RBIs, you're having a lot more success than everybody else in the league. And so I say that to say that is pretty much what Manny gives you and you can't acquire those numbers over a course of time unless you are pretty good at what you do. The Padres weren't a team of very good team last year. So of course, his numbers are going to come in a state of, you know, nothingness, if you will. But if he puts up those same numbers on a team that goes to playoffs, guess what? He's having that impact. So I don't know, this is, you know, I was trying to see this a little bit more than I'd like to see it. I feel like on social media as it pertains to Manny and this idea that he doesn't perform well when it matters. I don't think that's true. I think maybe last year, you might be able to say he he underperformed, but couldn't say that the year before. You couldn't say that in 20 when he was what third in MVP or whatever it was. Like, I just think this is just a short term short term memory when you when you go that route. Dan wants to know is Brian Kenny sending these tweets and no, Dan, he's not sure. Yeah, some positive. You know what? I should just go to his Twitter and just we just go through that. Chris. Well, I was thinking about this whole notion that Manny swings and misses and strikes out all the time in between his, you know, hits. He struck out 69 times this year. Sounds like a lot until you realize that Ellie didn't know that Aaron judge has struck out 93 times. Yeah. Yeah. And I think we consider Aaron judge right now the best hitter in baseball without question. So, you know, these guys do swing and missing sliders down and away, you know, they have good pitch. We'll get them. But I so I that's why this is foul. A bridge version of Fairfell. This last one, I thought was slightly funny. I don't care that we answer your questions, Gravy. It was it started off in the air, like down the line as it got past third and then it was pretty foul by the way, I don't care that Louisa rise can slap some singles together because he might be worse defensively at first base than Eric Cosmer. Oh, he dropped. Oh my God. Here we go with this notion. He didn't catch a ground. He didn't catch a throw across the diamond, which is true. He should have caught that. But he's picked up far more those that he's dropped and especially just fielding the ball at first base. So I guess that's a that's I'm going to say that's fair. Eric Cosmer is a better defensive player than Louisa Ross. All right, that might be fair. Okay. Here we go. Bye a lot. All right. Chris for some fans next. Hey, here we go into the four o'clock hour. Welcome back to Gwen and Chris. Chris Ello, Tony Gwen Jr. Tony's in Dallas where the Padres tomorrow will begin a three game series with the Texas Rangers, Matt Scrabie alongside here in the Odyssey Palace, two hours down two to go, a little round of Chris versus the fans coming up and a couple of phone lines actually open right now at 833-288-0973. Everybody always says, can you believe it's July 1st? I usually, yeah, it is. I can believe it. Chris would be that guy. I am. I'm kind of that guy. I can't believe it. This gone by pretty quick. Yes. Yeah. All right. We're halfway through the baseball. All right. Where do you stand on the guy that's like, Oh, God, I wish you would stop raining and the weather would warm up. And then as soon as it does, God, I wish it would cool off a little bit. No, no, I can't stand that guy actually. Okay, good. First of all, it doesn't rain that much in Sandy. Right. And to hear people, including people, my own family complain about how much it's raining when you take into account the entire year of San Diego. That's right. They make it seem like the monsoons are here. And like, we were just, we're never going to get out of this. This rain is just pummeling us. Yes, your wife actually goes to the store to buy an arc. It's gonna have to two by two take the family out. Chris, and then no sooner than the summer hits. And it gets to like 85. Oh my God. It says, man, it says, I wish it would just cool off. Please go off. I can't stand this. I had a new people. I had a little debate over the weekend with someone in AA about global warming. No, it wasn't that we started the debate on global warming. I just said it feels like San Diego is becoming hotter as each with each year more extreme. Yeah, it doesn't say it's more humid. We almost had a hurricane last year. I mean, things are happening, but this guy does not believe in global warming. He doesn't think there's anything wrong with our environment. All right. Well, thank you for passing that along. We're all so much better because we know that I tell you, we could use an Al Gore about now, but that's another story. Oh, yeah, Chris, I know I'm a little a little commentator now. It kind of goes around the young folks say lit lit. Very good. Not bomb. Not bomb. No, that's what that's what us young folks would have said back in the day that buffet was bomb. That's old folks go with they were to say lit. Yeah, us old folks are still coming around to the bomb part. So you just you just I just got back. Yeah, that just came on to my audience. Wait, what was what was the what was the term for lit bomb in the 70s? Yeah, awesome. Tubular? No, I said awesome. I wasn't a surfer tubular. We might have been kind of just for the beach crowd. That's awesome. I'm going to ask you the first question in just one second. But someone on the chat says yellow prices, the bees knees. Yeah. Yeah. That might be in the 40s. That's pretty funny. All right Ricardo. You guys are so common out there. I'm telling you, one of these days you're all going to be this old. So just, you know, enjoy it while you can. You know, it's like the time that I was in college. I was 18 and I was talking to my mom about, I wanted to take a girl on a date, but I had no idea what I was doing. Still don't. But I was like, where should I take her, mom? Should I take her to a movie? Should I take her to dinner? And she's like, you know what? You should take her to get a Coke. I was like, what do we, what do we, what do we miss? The Coke? What are you guys going to see her Coke with two straws? Yeah. There's no like soda bar that I could go to. Come on. She's going to take her to get some Coke. She is going to hate me for saying that because inside family. All right, Ricardo. Enough of you waiting on hold here for us to start. Let's go. Question number one. Who leads the Padres in home runs right now? Jack. Mayor. Yeah. Okay. Stay there. Christopher. The player they could easily, you know, live without and the player who without, they are much better. Fernando Tatis Jr. According to our. Fair. Yes, that is correct. I'm sorry Ricardo. Fernando has 14 home runs on the season. Let's go to the squad. It's a very, how many guys they got in double figures? No, I bet you they got six or seven guys in double figures. Oh, it's great. Jake, Toddy, Manny, Jackson, pro far. I think that's it. Five. Gosh, Yoko's got to be close. Yeah, we have double digit home run. This is just how bored I am tonight. Okay. Here we go to our next contestant, Nick. Hello, Nick. Hey, guys, I was going pretty good. Here we go. Question number one. What company does Scott van Pelt work for? ESPN. ESPN. Like the, you mean the one like that he's the, the SV thing. Yeah, there's just too much interviewing, too much milling around. Yeah, let's get to the, I want to see sports center for the high one. I think they, I think they feel like we get our highlights elsewhere now. I think that's why they've changed it. I'm not saying they're right. Well, I think they, no, you might, you know, I don't know. I don't gamble either. I just think it's a funny segment. I enjoy watching it. Yeah. I think that the Scott van Pelt thing, they wanted to do something like kind of like a late night show because it goes on so late on the east coast and lots of interviews, lots of stuff like that for the late night peeps. Yeah, I mean that thing. I know what Tony's saying though. Maybe, maybe I need to change my, my idea of what I'm watching. Change your expectations. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just, I still stuck on like tuning in and just getting just highlights and the commentary over the, I just need to change it, I guess. Maybe it's a meat problem. All right, Nick. Thank you for hanging on. Here we go. Quested Nick for having to put up with that. Who got the win for the Padres on Saturday? That would be Colic. Colic. Stay there, Nick. Chris, who got the win for the Padres on Saturday? Oh, King did King. Colic might have got it on Friday. By the way, do you like Michael King doing the Blake Snell interview every day after he pitches now? Have you seen it? No. Oh, okay. You mean like, we've seen it. You know, the one with Don and Mud for like a hole inning. They, you know, they put a microphone on him in the dugout. I used to be Blake Snell. Now it's Michael King's doing that. This is, this is just because I work in like a industry where you know you have a specific amount of time, but I love it when the inning goes on for like 35 minutes and nothing to talk about anymore. Like, I don't understand why the producers are like, can't they just say? It's literally the worst thing that could happen. Like the inning goes too long. Like you much rather inning go too short than go too long, right? Too short. You can say, you can stay for another inning. Cool. If it's too long, and you like are just dragging it out. Yeah. Here's the other thing. How about this? There's been a couple now instances where it's not necessary to Padres, but someone's doing the on field interview and they've made an error. That's happened to fly ball. King's happened to get a ground ball. Yeah, that that'll make guys be like, yeah, especially because you know what happens, right? Social media gets that they get off the field. They just I'm sure these guys checking their social media and they're getting crushed for being on being on the interview and not making the play and they don't make guys be like, I think I'm good this time around. Allow me to give a rare compliment to Juan Soto who made a couple of running catches last year when he was being interviewed. Oh, did a nice job. All right. Well, maybe maybe they need interview more on it. What did he say? Wow. How about that? A little compliment for the Soto kid. There you go. Yeah. Kiki said they're paying me. So I'll keep doing them. They're paying they're paying my second thought pop. Yeah. That's a good that maybe they won't reconsider. All right. Let's go to our next contestant, Chris and San Diego. We got some lines open 833 280973. All right. Wait. Wait. We're quick. Hold on. We're quick. I'll go ahead. We'll do. I'll say my comment after our next call. All right, Chris, you ready to play? Chris? Hello? Yeah. Ready to go. Okay. Here we go. Okay. Here we go. Got your radio turned down. All right. Turn. Make sure you trigger radio down, Chris, and that might be causing a bit of a delay. All right. My son's next to me. He's good. Okay. What's his name? Yeah. What's your son's name? Little shout out. Jeremy. Jeremy. All right. Jeremy. All right. Here we go, Chris. Second question. I'm going to give you one of those names. I've named three players. You tell me what team they played for. Oh, tough. Tom Brady. Rob Gronkowski. Blaine Gabbard. Who? What team did they play for? Oh, Blaine Gabbard. I'm going to have to go to the bucket. Here's the. The bucket. Here's his. Correct. No way, Chris. Good thing. And he was trying to be tricky. I was. He was trying to be real tricky. I see you. Tom Brady. Yeah, you're pretty. You're bringing up the past on me here. I'm a bill spent. Oh, I'm sorry. Oh, yeah. It's like Tom Brady. Rob Gronkowski. I got them. You didn't have anybody anybody. Everybody knew and plus with Tom Brady, there's only two choices. So it was a lousy one. Sorry. Okay. We'll have to go to our next consensus questions. Let's go or no, not our next test our next question. Oh, wait. It's San Diego for question number three. This is for the championship. Coming into today, who leads baseball in batting average. Changes every day. Because I saw it this morning. Oh, my gosh. Really? Here's the thing. I know for fact, you didn't know this. I thought I saw it this morning was in the paper and I thought of it because I know that Stephen Kwan is going to be leading soon, but he still doesn't have enough to qualify. So the leader is Luis Ren Giffa of the Angels, I believe, by one point, over like five people read he three 17. It's correct. Sorry, Chris. Sorry. I saw that this morning and I was surprised by it. Tony, what were you going to say? I was going to say you were just saying how Chris was just saying how you hate that he criticizes your question. Well, we got I got a text from a friend of mine that wants to, I think he has a good valid point about the business, the company that works as VP works for. Oh, okay. What's that? It's actually Disney, not ESPN because Disney is the one who signs the checks. Scrabies. Does this check come on in the ESPN letterhead? Yes. Does this check say maybe not? Maybe it says Disney. Maybe it says Walt. Oh gosh, your friends are lame. Wow. That's a very nice thing to say about a guy's friend. No, my good buddy has a, my good buddy has a valid point. That's what I'm saying. It is. But no one, no one is going to, when I, when I get my bill from, you know, watching it says Disney, it's a Disney bill. You know, I'm just saying, just want to point it out. All right, James Wood singled in his first at bat, everybody. Oh, no. Oh, look, as you're trying to rile everybody up. No, no, it was, it was just a regular single. Nothing else. That's all he's going right to the Hall of Fame. Oh, James says Disney sports entertainment. All right, fine, whatever. It doesn't matter. Doesn't matter. Person still got it right. Listen to me trying to bargain my way out of this one. Let's go to Dustin in Santee Dustin. Hello. What's going on, guys? Not much. How are you, Dustin? Are you ready to go in there? Just working, trying to beat the heat. Oh, yeah. I hear you. All right here. Let's get you a trip to Las Vegas. Question number one. Which team has the most wins in baseball right now? Jakey. Jakey's. Jakey's. Stay there, Dustin. I don't know. Chris knows this. What's the fillies for a little while? It's between the fillies and the Oreos, because the Oreos pass the Yankees. I'm gonna go with the Oreos. Wow. It was the fill. It is the fillies. All right, good for you. Yes. Carl Swarber. Carl Swarber leading the way. Tony, when you were gone, I said it one time out of like a thousand now. Carl Swarber is now the new Jeff Garth. Carl Swarber. You know what it's funny is because I could visualize Carl Swarber. I don't know why I could visualize him, but I can't. Carl Swarber. All right. That's like an insurance agent or somebody. I'll tell you one thing. I wish you would go into insurance the way he hits against the Padres. Yeah. All right, Dustin, you're still alive. Here we go. Question number two. Another player naming three players you tell me the team. Tony Gonzalez, Roddy White, Jason Elam. Tony Gonzalez, Roddy White, Jason Elam. What's Falcon? The Falcons. Correct. Nice job. Nice job. Nice work. Think Roddy White gave that one away, huh? No, probably. All right. Here we go. Question number three. Wait a second. Hold on. I just got to check something just to make sure he's questioning one of his questions, everybody. I'm questioning one of my questions. He has to do that because he knows darn well. Check him. All right. All right, Dustin. Aaron Judge leads baseball in home runs. Who are the two hitters tied for second right now? You got to give you both? Both. Mmm. Second. Mmm. No, O'Connie. Okay. Gunnar Henderson. Gunnar Henderson. Is correct. All right. Wow. Nice work. That was some good stuff. I got to say, stay there, Dustin. Nice job. Well done, Dustin. Nice work, Gunnar. Gunnar Henderson has been a revelation this year. Mmm. I think we have thought he'd be good. Yeah. He was 26 last year before the All-Star break. I don't know if it was a revelation. He was he was a baller last year, wasn't he? Let me see what he did last year. Rick in here. It's pretty good. He was Ricky the year, right? Going back to his, he hit 255 last year. He hit 28 home runs, so he's almost caught up with that, but he's hitting 288 this year. 26 home runs. Revelation seems a bit strong, buddy. 58 RBI. I mean, he's already about to pass his home runs. He already has half of his triples. He's 10 more walks. All right, right. Yeah, well, it's not a revelation. More stolen bases before. Okay, I'll stop that. You can give all the numbers. You know, I'm going to stop. It's not a revelation. Sorry. Oh, who segment is it? Jeffrey said a subsidiary is still a company. So ESPN could be right because they are subsidiary. Thank you, Jeffrey. Mmm. 12 to one. You're still down. Um, by the way, I looked up whether or not the six double figure home runs. But the Padres have on their roster. Yes. If that's the most in baseball. You already went through all that. I did. I went through every team in baseball. When did you do it? Shit chatting there. Okay. Padres are the second most with six guys and double figures. There's one team that has more. One team in baseball has seven guys and double figures home runs. Orioles. It is the Orioles. Good and Chris comes back after traffic. They have a change. Yes, I know we're back. I can hear the music in my ear suck. Yeah, your feet were on the wall. So I wasn't quite sure. My feet were on the wall. I was I was led down my stomach hurts, man. I'm sorry. I didn't know I can speak still. My mouth hurts. Anyway, I think we asked last week if the three of us ever get in any fights off the air. Maybe we should have answered that. Yes, we do get in fights on the air. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Well, I definitely said that me and Scrave have had it out multiple times. Yeah. I was thinking about one specific time since Tony and I are over it. I'll say it, but it was you guys were talking about the NBA and you asked me something. I was like, I don't know because I don't care about the NBA. So Scrave used to have a knack for whereas as we were trying to put the show together, Scrave, for whatever reason, just didn't want us to talk NBA. So anytime Chris or I brought up, you know, doing a segment on the NBA, he would like push back against it. And I just had one point. I just was irritated that he kept pushing back. It's not like we had a bunch of stuff to talk about. It was during the off season. And so it was like, bro, you keep turning down these segments. Like we have a bunch of stuff to talk about. And so we didn't patch it up before the show started. So of course, with Chris asking when we tried to chime in on it, he was like, I don't care. It was like, it was the fact that he was like mad about it on air. Yeah. That like, I didn't play the game under my skin. I didn't play the game. He didn't, he couldn't put his little feelings aside for the show. He had to get his, you know, his his talk out on air. Hey, I have learned from that because I don't get mad about the NBA talk anymore. I'm a much calmer guy these days. He does. I get mad. He lets us talk some NBA. He lets us. He does. He doesn't push back. And we get to, you know, have our conversation. His whole reason about the NBA is the fact that he doesn't think any of our listeners want to hear about the NBA. Well, that's what I'm past. And I believe that that is, I believe that that is doing basically research without doing any research is really kind. Honestly, I'm relaying what I'm told by who this is also, this is also in scrape was, you know, thought, you know, for better or worse, that X slash was like real life, like he does. That was everybody. That was everybody. Hey, Mr. Political commentator over there. I don't listen to it as much as the actual rod. Just seeing an political guy. Oh, okay. It's the only name I can think of on hand. That's really funny. That is really funny. Um, yeah, I've come a long way. Thanks, guys. You guys have held me up. I mean, you have, you have your own freaking show. So, of course, you've come a long way. It's, you know, you do, you do, you do your thing. And by the way, I'm wearing my scrapingator shirt today. And what's, yo, what is the word? How do, why don't I have one? Because you didn't buy one. You would think that you'd want. Yeah, you think you'd want your group. You think you want your partners in crime? No, mochi. Here's how I went. Here's how I went. No, no, no, no, no, no. Here's how I got a purchase one. Okay. No, here's how it went. I was going to originally, and I even Chris gave me someone to work with. We talked about things about shirts. I was like, I'm going to spend money, my own money, and buy a hundred shirts and just give them out to people. I wasn't going to be able to afford that. No, it was like eight hundred dollars for that. So I was like, wait a second. I can't give you going there. This is a grand idea, though. No, I'm going to have more scraping in your shirts. But the first round was for trying to establish an alcohol, you know, organization, I'm going to try to establish something so it helps people with alcohol addiction. And so this was a, this was a fundraiser shirt, but I will get you guys a shirt. I've been meaning to do that. So, you know, listen, real talk, that's awesome. You're using your platform to help other people. Yeah, that's very good. Great. Very good. That's fantastic. Even, even we, your, your harshest critics can find nothing wrong with that. Good. Thank you guys. That's a fact. Thank you guys. All right. Let's, let's, let's mosey on the break here. Oh, when we talk about the home, or I was going to say, we're home running in the next one. We can't talk about it. We, we keep doing this. We say we're going to talk about it. And then we get to talk about something else. And now it's 433. I honestly don't think we, I don't even think you're going to be able to label that segment in the, in the rundown because I don't really think we talked about anything there. I'm going to label it. Tony is mad. It's gravy. That's what I'll label it. Okay. So there you go. All right. More Gwyneth Chris on the other side. All right. Happy July 1st, everybody. You might be having a, what you consider to be a really good day out there. I mean, you could be. I know it's Monday for a lot of people. So they're like, nah, what are you talking about? But you could be having a good day out there. No matter how good your day is though, there's three people at least that are having a far superior day to any of you out there in our listening audience. Those three people are. Manny Ramirez, who just got a $9, $6 million from the Red Sox. I know what you're doing. Yes. Bobby Benilla, it's his day. Bobby Benilla, day 1.1 million. Jr. Ken Griffey, Jr. gets 3.59 million from the Reds. This is his last payment for Ken. We'll have to make do. I think Bobby Benilla gets paid forever. I don't think that one ever ends. I don't know. I think he got another leg either night. I think Chris Davis makes a ton of money. Yeah. There's probably a few more on that list. Actually have a bunch of those guys during the Scravey show. I wanted to go through some of those other guys in the breakdown because it's incredible how some of these guys have set themselves up. Well, they're smart. I think they're smart. And you know, you get all over the case of Show A for deferring all his money. Yeah, it's cheating. Well, was this cheating then with Benilla and those guys back in the day? Bobby Benilla wasn't making six. Was it cheating scrape? Okay. If you want me to say yes, I'll say yes, because Bobby Benilla wasn't deferring $680 million. That's a whole different. We're talking about the most billion. He was still cooking the books. He was still cooking the books so that whoever team he was playing for could be able to sign more players is still the same concept. Was Bobby Benilla's show here, Tommy? No, that's the difference. What difference does it make? It's still deferring a bowl of money so that his team can sign another player. I am foul on this opinion right here. I'm foul. I know. It's not a good opinion. It wasn't a fair foul question. You're going to kind of just... Bad opinion. Yeah, you're just going to go to your... You're just going to take bullet after bullet on that one. Yeah, believing that Show A is an answer. He's like, hold my beer. Well, not hold my beer. Hold my juice. I choose. He doesn't drink anymore. Can we go to the Big Five, Chris? Also real quick, wanted to say congratulations to my parents, because yesterday they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Hey, congrats, mama and papa scrapi for oh, for oh, the only grad and I know that mister and missus scrapi 40 years. That's fantastic and considering you are 39. Yes. That means your mom and dad had one relatively good year. Stop dad. You see my brain just malfunctioned right to the action. Chris is talking about something disgusting. I call him dad like what you had one really good. That's what that's what Mary people do right away. Okay, stop. They went to they went to Chris last night. I forced them to go to dinner. They didn't want to do anything. I was like you guys need to go. That's a good dinner right there. Yeah, absolutely. You're not getting your allowance. They bring you anything back scrape? No, no, no, of course not. You kidding me. Roost Chris is all right, but I mean $14 for three pieces of french fried potatoes seems a little much. Thanks to no ask you. Six asparagus, $19. Come on. Come on, Roost. My parents had a great time at Roost Chris, so yeah, 40 years big deal. I say congratulations to my dad for a great time putting that up with my dad for 40 years. Chris is still going on now. Yeah, a little heavy. Our guy Matt Snyder of CBS Sports has been doing his power rankings all season long from Major League Baseball and in this week's ranking the Padres were the actual actually the biggest movers up by jumping from 14 to 10. And the Texas Rangers, the team they're about to play were the team that dropped the most going from 16 to 23. Chris of the Padres and the top 10 of MLB teams right now. Are they a top 10 team? Yes, right now. This week they were, you know, I'm not ready to anoint them that until they prove they can keep it up. But yeah, the way things have gone right this minute. They do, they seem like a top 10 team. And again, before you say, oh, you're just saying that, because, you know, you're paid by the Padres. You're a shell. Yeah, I'm not paid by the Padres. And I say it because I think there's a lot of room to be better as in Darvish and Musgrove and Tatise and Bogart's getting healthy. So I think that 10 is fair right now. Tony is 10 a fair spot for the Padres right now on the power rankings. I think it is fair. I think it is fair. We've gone over, oh, well, at Nazim about how there aren't that many teams over 500 in the big league. So considering that the Padres are now one of them, I would say yes, that puts them in the top 10 in terms of, you know, being at that spot in power rings. They've played well enough here, especially in the last week to earn that. And I assume these power rankings are every week. So yes, that could change in another week. Absolutely. They have the 12th best record we've seen a change in another week. Yeah. All right. According to MLB.com, the Dodgers are looking for some starting rotation help. And this help could be in the form of White Sox starting pitcher Garrett Crochet. There's been tons of talk about Crochet and what he would actually bring to a team with his first, with this being his first full year as a starter and also coming off injury last year, Tony, like how do I explain this? This is never a good sign when I can't explain my own question. But like when Matt Schurzer was acquired by the, Matt Schurzer and Trey Turner, acquired by the Dodgers, all of us are like, oh, great. And it scared us like those, those guys are going to be playing for the Dodgers. Is this a move that would quote, unquote scare you? I don't know that those moves scared us per se except the fact that we have to then have to then face them, right? Like, it's one thing to get a guy, but it's another thing to get a guy that's in your division that you got to now face. And so, yeah, I think this would fall into that category. It doesn't mean that the Dodgers will then be World Series favorites. It does mean that they become tougher to beat within the division and, you know, things of that nature. Ultimately, the Mac Schurzer deal didn't work out for them, right? They didn't win a title while they were there, but certainly made it tough during the regular season dealing with them. And then, you know, the Padres still got with them came a compost season. So yes, if if if all things are equal, you certainly don't want crochet to go to a team that you're competing with in the division. Chris, what do you think with this move, quote, unquote, scare you? Yes, it would. Yes, I couldn't come out at night. Okay, he's making fun of. Well, no, I don't know. I couldn't come out. I'm trying to trying to get grasp, you know, the direction of the question. This guy's got 141 strikeouts and only 101 innings. That's really absurd. They've already got glass now who is either ahead of that or close. So that means anytime you face the Dodgers, you already know it's going to be tough. Now, you might have to be dealing with two of the toughest guys to actually hit in all the baseball. And that's before Kershaw and everybody else ever gets healthy. I don't think anything's going to equal the Scherzer one, though, because Scherzer for an at least an hour and a half was a Padre in our minds. That's right. Yeah, I'll never forget that. That's why that one hurt the most, because it was not only did they get Scherzer, but we lost him. He was on the plane to San Diego at one point. We felt like he was. I don't know how true any of it was, but we certainly felt like he was ours. Toughest crochet, you know, going forward, I think would be a bigger deal than the rest of this year. He's already pitched more innings this year than the rest of his career combined. So we'll see how much he's got left for the second half. Excuse me. Number three, the home run Derby has changed its formats less than three weeks away. And ESPN announced a new format, which will go like this. In the first round, all eight players are going to hit. And the top four Homer totals will advance to the second round. So it's no longer. I kind of like that. It's no longer where you see them. And then I didn't like one guy wins nine to seven. And another guy loses 38 32. Yeah. That's really unfair. Yes. Sorry, buddy. You're out. Yeah, you're ties are broken using the longest individual home run distance. The hitters, and this is just first round hitters get three minutes or 40 pitches, whichever comes first, and they have one time out. They also get three bonus outs. So basically, after they're three minutes or 40 pitches, they continue swinging until they make three more outs. So that's the first round. That's the major changes here. And then it kind of goes back to normal. Semi finals, the four remaining players are going to be seated one to four based on the first round totals. And they still have the three minutes or 40 pitches one time out. And then at the end, the finals are only two minutes or 27 pitches. So it seems like they're trying to move this along a little bit. Chris, you're up first. My question is not about these rules, because you guys say that you liked them. Is the home run derby more or less popular than the dunk competition these days? More more more than the dunk competitions. Well, I don't know, I made a bit of a problem with the dunk competition. They can't get any, you know, good players. At least, I mean, Gunnar Henderson announced who's going to be in the baseball one today. That's already better. Even if they're the other seven guys are minor leaguers, it's a better competition than what the NBA's been putting out there with complete no name players. So I think, you know, Adam Silver does everything right. He's got to figure out a way to get some of his star players competing in that stuff again. So yes, baseball's better because of the start power. Tony, home run derby or dunk competition? Oh, Homer Derby, and Chris's spot on the Major League Baseball has been able to keep it going, even though it may have lost some of its kind of a lure, because they get big name guys to do it, but that people want to tune in. That's the biggest problem with the dunk contest is not that the dunks have gotten bad. You just don't have anybody in there that people actually want to see dunk. Against one another. You might be happy. You might get one or two at most that people are like looking forward to, but they don't get the same names involved like like Homer and Derby does. Yeah, I think unfortunately, I'm being dead serious about this. I think LeBron one day, it'll go down and he'll be a little bumpy. Never did the dunk competition. You know, a lot of people, a lot of dudes blame him for it. Not once he said no, no, no, no, no. Once he made this, once he made the decision as an early not to do it, you know, a lot of people felt like they didn't have to do it. Then if he's not doing that, you know, you say what you want about those dudes and ladies and ladies, they took on the challenge and therefore they, you know, other people follow suit. Who is going to miss Jordan Drexler and Dominique Wilkins? I mean, you were going to know if you couldn't get to it, you were going to tape it and watch it over and over again. All right, that was a DVR worthy event and not anymore. San Diego State football season opener against Texas A&M Commerce is going to kick off at 5 p.m. Pacific time and broadcasted live on Chris's favorite channel True TV and also max the HBO app. The Mountain West announced today broadcast comes as part of a new multi-year agreement between the Mountain West and TNT sports showcasing live college football games exclusively on both platforms beginning this season. Tony, do you think TNT sports is the right place for Mountain West football games? I don't know the answer to that, but you know, TNT is a big time network. Certainly can't hurt having them. I think people might be a little more surprised that there is football and TNT. I can't recall football games on that. So they'll have to get used to that, but yeah, man. I mean, any big network you can get on if you're at Mountain West, jump on it. Chris, what do you think? I like it. And, you know, the NCAA basketball tournament was only three months ago. So I kind of think I remember where True TV was on a dial. So all right. I'm good with it. We don't really need to go into the last one. It's just about Joey Chestnut. All right. I'm glad that we can't go to the last one because it's all right. We're kind of glad to 454 is the time happy hour. It's been pretty fun already. So who knows where it can go next on 97.3. The fans. What's good, San Diego? Welcome into the happy hour 501 on the clock. Tony Good, junior, Chris, Elo match. Great. It's been a fun three hours. Happy hour remaining. It seems that our friends in Washington, DC are still having conversations about the, what should we call it, kerfuffle. Where does that where does that laugh originate from? It's not a laugh. It's a cry. Oh, that's. Is that you? 49ers lost to the Chiefs? No, it's just one of the many times. It's just a sound. I like it. I like it. I don't like it at all. Corn holding came. I was just right where my mouse was. I don't have to do with anything. I don't know. This does too. I'm a clown. That's better. It had nothing to do with anything, but it waited even funnier than dropping corn. Now, to be fair, I believe was is it Jake Irvin, right? Yes. Yes. I believe Jake Irvin was asked a question from our folks at foul territory. I think it's AJ Prasinski, Scott Braun, and usually, who am I missing? Someone else is on there. Prasinski, by the way, was very adamant that Gore hit profile on purpose. Like he did. Very, I know, I know, but I'm just saying, I'm saying he, gosh, this dude is a huge human being. I can't. There's a huge human being. Andre, the giant former, former the catcher, former catcher for the Phillies, you, Jamie, come on. I'm looking. I don't see it. Let me foul territory to you, me people. Huge. Anyway, catcher for the Phillies, huge human being. Like he's a big dude. He, they were doing an interview with Jake Irvin. He was asked about the fisticuffs or the, you know, fake fisticuffs that happened. Jason Kipniss. Scravey's about to give it. Nope. It's not Kipniss. I'll, I'll figure it out. No, don't worry about it. Anyway, let's play that sound from that interview there, Scravey. I think it's, like you said, it's case to case basis. It's, it's, do whatever you want. You won the game. You did something really cool that people dream of doing and it's a special moment. I think for me personally, you keep it within your team, make it about your boys and make it about your family. When you bring it to the other side of the field, you know, there's just a little bit different feeling for a celebration like that. I was going to echo that same same statement. AJ, I'm with you. You can do whatever you want. If it's with your team, if you guys have a fun celebration, whether it's the old Adam Jones pie in the face or the Gatorade celebrations, when you start kind of crossing that line and looking into the other dugout and I think that's a, that's a little bit of where it gets a little kind of like a gray area, to be honest. So I think if it stays on your side of the field and with your guys, there is really no limit that you can do. Does that fair to say? Yeah. I absolutely, and I didn't, we didn't want to hit him. We didn't want to hurt him. Guys were over it, you know, 10 minutes after the game, but we talked as a group and just said, you know, that's something that we don't want to put up with as a team. And it's part of this scrappy attitude that we have. And we have each other's backs. We're here for each other. And part of that is doing what Caver didn't just stand enough for his guy. He sounded like he was talking out of both sides of his mouth there. He definitely was talking out of both sides of his face. He first said, he first said, hey, you hit a walk off. You did something that most people dream of. Do what you want. Then in the same breath, he said, but once you crossed that line, you come over here and you're looking to do our dugouts, then we feel some time way. But then he said 10 minutes after we were all over it, but then they had a meeting 10 minutes after and decided, you know what, this isn't what we're, we're a lot of speaking about to decide that you're over it. And then if you're over it, why did the catcher get in his face the next day, which is eight hours later, 12 hours later. Yeah, come on, that's no good. Listen, I think it misses the part of the regardless what the intention was of the past. This is the guard. They've put a ball in his chin. Yeah, I'll try Tony. Under his chest, right? Yeah. I think the other thing is, and I don't know if you are, you know, by trait, you are a visitor in another team's building. I don't know that you get any rights at that point. Like you, you're visiting and not only are you visiting, you lost on a walkoff. I think at that point, and listen, we talked about this when it happened, was it a little weird that it ended up on their side of the field? Yes, definitely weird. But that doesn't mean that he was staring into the dugout. I know many of them seem seemingly thought that. It looked like he was up in the stands for the most part, even though he was on their side of the field. And again, it totally, it totally misses the fastball underneath the chin that, you know, de-cleeded him. Basically, basically, his cleats came out from under him. He hit the ground hard. If I'm not mistaken, it wasn't that with next pitch. Next couple of pitches later, he walks it off. So all of that's playing into it. And, you know, I think you know that because Winker makes the first out of the inning. And as I told you guys, the thing that he said to pro-far, walking out the field was, "Are we good? Are we good?" And then pro-far comes up and clearly, Kiebert had different idea of what, if they were all right. He certainly wasn't over it. I don't, maybe he missed the team meeting that they had about, you know, being over. I think that they all missed the team meeting about being over it, because I don't think any of them are over. Kiebert, it's a week later. You remember last night during the team? Oh, wait, you were not the team meeting last night. I think we're going to see just how over it they're not on July 23rd when the Padres go there. Because even if the players are over it, they might be over it, but the fans are going to remember it in Washington, D.C. There's going to be loud boom when pro-far comes up in that first inning. Here's the deal. Pro-far still got hit and don't think that has just been swept over. It shouldn't be. You know, I won't be surprised at all if there is a, I hate to use the word get back because it's, you know, so taboo. I like it, Tony, use it, but, you know, but I think there's some get back, I think there's some get back possibly. I know the one thing I'm going to be tuned into that series a little more closely than some of the others. And you know, and looking at that series, by the way, the Padres do not, this is a little jumping the gun, but they do not have an easy start to the second half of the season, the Padres. Have you seen this Tony? First three, first three. Of course, I've seen it. Yeah, Cleveland and live it. So I leave. Yeah, Cleveland, D.C. and Baltimore. That's a tough right out to shoot, baby. And then when you get home, Dodgers. So yeah, it's going to be tough. And you know, they got two more East Coast swings. They got that one. And then the first week of August, they go to Pittsburgh, Miami. So that's that that three game road. He's the longest of the season for the Padres. And you know, it'll be a chance for him to get started, get off to a good start out coming out of the break. But it won't be won't be easy. Are we on to anything else? Are we just doing a potpourri here scrape? Or do you have something else you need to get to? No, I was just searching for new news. We got well, I got James Wood struck out in second at bat and his helmet flew off. Oh, wow. So he probably knew what he was doing. Yeah, good trade. It's going to go at bat. Yeah, we could trade her a bad trade when he gets his home run, his first home run. Here's a name that popped up on the wire today that I haven't heard in a long time. And it was a name that I really liked. And I think a lot of people really liked and a really, really popular person, both, you know, on the field and in the booth, especially pretty much be loved. And you talk about making a mistake that basically cost you at all. How about John Gruden, guys? When's the last time you even heard that name, John Gruden? And since the senses, my guy for the rent for the guard was no, the watching the football team leaked all that stuff out. That was Chris when he found out literally, this was Chris when he found out that the commanders were no longer the Washington football team. That's the worst one of our time. You know, I was like, misspeaking on the glance lambs is better than that one there. Excuse me, that's better than that one. Yeah, that one there. I don't know where I was going. It's an off day. It's a Monday. So we're getting a little soon. It's a happy hour. Anyway, John Gruden didn't get his name back in the news today, but it's not anything good for him. Unfortunately, lost his bid in the Nevada. He took this all the way to the Nevada Supreme Court, and he lost his bid to reconsider whether there was interference and conspiracy against him after he left the Raiders. You know, Gruden claims it was leaked on purpose that forced him to resign the racist, sexist and homophobic emails, et cetera, that he sent many years earlier. So wait, he says it was all released and for to force him out of his job. So he's saying he wrote them though. I don't think he was all there. I don't think there was any effort in there. This was what was my man's name for the Washington football team that was getting their Snyder. Snyder was like, look over here. Don't look at me. Look at this guy. It only worked for Snyder for a little while, but man, he really swallowed up Gruden that I, you know, I can't stick up for anything Gruden said. So it's hard to say. I feel bad for him. And he said what he said. And if you put it out there, even if it's not been released, you're always running at risk. So yeah, man, you know, if you're talking like that, because you think it won't get out, it's going to get you, buddy. Yeah. So I feel, I mean, I, because I, I did, I like Gruden. Who didn't like Gruden? I don't know even if it didn't like him before this stuff came out. You didn't like it. One of the one of the one of the one of the best, one of the best hard knock speeches of all time. I knew Tony was good. All time. Yeah, it was good. All time. Chucky was all right, but he's not all right anymore. No more, no more Mr. Chucky. No more happiness for Chucky. All right. Let's get to break. We actually are going to get to break on time for the first time in this four hour show. So kudos to us. Let's get to break more Gwen and Chris on the other side. Here's some traffic. Hi, welcome back to Gwen and Chris. 5/20 is the time. Chris, Tony Gwen, Jr. in the Tejas. Audrey, start with the Rangers tomorrow night, three game series. Tony, if you, I don't know that you would have gotten any word on this, but as of this morning, the Padres had not determined their starting rotation for this series. They said they might switch some things up. Had you heard anything about that? Because it says on, excuse me, MLB.com that sees us starting tomorrow, followed by Maser and then King. So I would just say that that sounds pretty accurate. Yeah, I don't think there's a, anyway, we'll see if the Padres change anything up. But as far as we know, I don't believe that'll be the case. So we'll all find out it goes together tomorrow. Technically, Cease and Evaldi tomorrow. Technically, they, they would be changing things up, right? Because, you know, in terms of whose turn in the rotation it would be. Got it. Because King would become an, King just pitched the second game of this past series. Cease, Maser in the second game. I'm looking on MLB.com and they're not very, King. Not very helpful. Yeah, King in the third game again, Shurzer, Mac Shurzer. Right. So he still, I mean, just, it just means, oh, yeah, he came, just come back. Second start, I think, maybe since coming back something along those lines. Yeah, it sounds about right. But I would say that your, your idea of the rotation is accurate. Okay. Do you think the UT's Bryce Miller gets fired up when the Seattle Mariners, Bryce Miller pitches? Wow, those weird things. Knowing, knowing, knowing Bryce Miller, the way I know Bryce Miller, you know, I think it's like, I think it would be kind of cool if there was a pitcher in baseball, named Matt Scrabie. I would close your eye on that. It's not even on his radar. Don't think so. Don't think Bryce Miller knows anything about Bryce Miller? Well, I think Bryce Miller, the pitcher is spelled B-R-Y-S-E. No, no, no. Good try. I thought he was. According to this, that's the Bryce Miller. That's the Bryce Wilson from that's what I'm thinking of. Nice try. Scrabie Mr. Bear of misinformation. He loves to use that when it works for his narrative. I'll start balloting, continues. Again, I can't go against and be hypocritical and tell you to hurry up and vote more. Because I think I should be all stars if they're all stars, not because we beg you to vote. But you probably want to keep up with how things are going. And Profar has slipped a little bit behind Kristen Yellich in the outfield. 21% to 20%. And then Fernando's third was 16%, but it's very, very tight in the American League, or the National League, all-star balloting. Do what you wish with that arises 10 percentage points behind in the National League, it's second base behind Catel Marte. And Nachado is trailing out, boned by a pretty good margin of third base. So there you have it. I guess the Brewers fans just started voting because I was looking at this. It didn't seem like Jerkson was going to get caught. I guess maybe Brewers fan. I think because you probably haven't paid a lot since to how these as you get closer to the end date, more people, this just happens all the time. More people start paying more attention. They start voting more. And things can change pretty quickly. And they got the campaign. I think the Padres are paired with the Blue Jays. I think it's like four Padres and one Blue Jays. It seems like a little uneven. What are your thoughts about the campaign, Tony? Wouldn't you just like it if people voted to who they voted for? I'm not kind of... I mean, even though I love Jerkson's little kid up on the screen asking us to vote for me, it's very cute. But I think we should vote because we want to vote for him as the all-star, not because they're begging us to do it. Yes, that's exactly right. That's exactly right. But you're taking advantage of the social media element. That's why they can do these campaigns now is because it doesn't cost you anything. You smack a couple teams, players together, and you say, "Hey, Blue Jays fan base, vote for us. We'll vote for your guy here in San Diego." Oh, we're supposed to do that. That's mean. I don't think we are supposed to do that, but the Padres are definitely doing that. By the way, on the homepage, MLB.com, not that hype means anything. Top photo. If you go to that page, MLB.com. James Wood smoked an opposite field single on his first at bat for the Nationals. And there's a big picture of him there. Does anybody else feel like he's getting this crazy treatment that I don't know that many people even outside of us and other people know who James Wood is? I mean, he kind of did that for himself by the kind of year he was having down in Triple A, kind of built the steam. And I think he's a top prospect and not just his organization, but like all of these. Number three overall, right now, according to this. So let's do it for you. Yes, he has a challenge on MLB the show. That's how good he is. He has his own challenge, by the way, Mackenzie Gore challenge. What? Oh, on MLB. Yeah, yes. You have to hit two extra base hits with him in a game. And it's really hard because you have to go up against Aaron Nola. Aaron Nola keeps blowing me away every time. Okay, I don't know what you're talking about, but I do know this. Mackenzie Gore may go punch CJ Abrams in a battle of former Padres any moment now. Oh no, because you know what happens with Gore? He doesn't like when guys don't make a play for him. He gets got taken out of this game with a two nothing lead Tony. Next batter up with two men on hit a ground ball to an under CJ Abrams glove for an error. Next guy followed with a two run double and now the Mets are ahead three to two. Gore this is after he came out after he came out CJ made the error and now the lead is gone. So don't expect he's doing the don't expect Mackenzie Gore to welcome CJ Abrams back into the dugout with a big hug. CJ better get his better get his guard up when he walks in there. Mackenzie Gore, they showed a shot of him in the dugout. They did show us out of him. He is chewing that gum real fast. Yeah, he didn't look pleased. He also has a weird hat. Have you ever noticed that his hat doesn't fit his head? No, I do notice that he didn't want to come out of the game in the first place and he kind of barked at Davey Martinez. How many pitches did you find how many pitches? Yeah, 104 in the sixth. Hey, bro. Listen, listen. Oh, I'm not agreeing with you. I'm yeah, I'm not agreeing with him. Oh, no, you're not. I'm talking. I'm talking about talking. Oh, look at that shot of him stewing in the dugout right now. So angry right now. There is steam coming out of his ears. I'm fake talking to Mackenzie right now, but yeah, bruh, if you're going to throw 104 pitches and how many innings four and what? Five and a two thirds. Yeah, five and two thirds. They're gonna come get you. I mean, that's this isn't new to to know how they do now. Baseball. Yeah, so like if you aren't efficient, they are going to come get you whether you have a lead or not. That is just the way it goes. And so, you know, the step for Mackenzie now is because it's clear, dude, his stuff is high level. I mean, he was throwing 94 mile per hour sliders against the Padres the other day. Like you just don't see that. But if you can't take the next step to now be efficient, you know, it's kind of like what Michael King Michael King in his last start, really good. And he was really good not because he got the six innings because he did it in like 85 pitches. He was efficient. If you're 105 and you're not through, you know, you and you know, the team is knocking on the door and your stress pitches are going high. They're going to come get you. So I assume Mackenzie's upset with himself. I know the errors happened thereafter. And I'm sure I see stews in that anger after this after he goes into the clubhouse. So think about it like, man, what could I have done to put myself in a better spot? And that is be it more efficient with my count, my pitch count. They, you know, they're looking at it as a young guy. You just think he's going to say to himself as he goes down the locker, CJ Abrams better not cross my line of sight right now. That's what he's going to say. It was a total boom. Like it was right under his glove between his legs. Set up the big rally. CJ is turning into a, CJ is turning into a really fine offensive play. Yes, he is. He just has some, he just has some laps in concentration at times. I mean, whether it's the two plays in San Diego. Yeah, no kidding. Yeah, that was bad. He booted one. He booted, had a big error in that Padres series that led to some runs too. And so, CJ is going to be awesome, man. I really enjoy watching him put together at bats, seeing like how far he's come, but they're still levels to this, right? As he gets, he locks in on the concentration part, man, he's going to be a really, really good player. And so it's same with Mackenzie as he cleans up his stuff. He's going to be really, really good. Well, there was no replay when they came back from commercial of Mackenzie Gore beating up CJ Abrams. So fortunately. Well, I think CJ is a little too important to the team. I don't know Nick, since Elza starter, he didn't have any problem one to punch him out. That's true. That's very true. He was waiting for since that when it came off. Now, now, since Elza is a small dude, so, you know, he definitely was risking something. Since I decided to haul off and take one on, I mean, he would have that skinny frame would have had to eat a nice thick punch. All right, met three gnats to bottom of the six. If you're wondering when in Chris, we were visited earlier today. And it was fun. Charlie Hoffman from the PGA had some, some good commentary, some fun stuff, and took a little shot at Scrabby's favorite golfer Rory McElroy. It's all coming up in the next half hour. Stick around. 737 here in Dallas 537 there in San Diego last segment of the day. Charlie Haw. I'm joined this year. We got it was a surprise visit, by the way, Scrabby came to the table with literally nothing. Oh, okay. You know, you didn't get to see him, Tony. I walked in. He had both his palms up in the air. It was kind of sad. I was, I was actually, we talked about it on Friday. To be fair, to be fair. Yes, to be fair, Scrabby put out a bunch of fillers. No one, no one got back, but it was funny. You're just saying that he came to the table. You look like that. That's why the character Oliver from the old movie. Alms for the poor. Just kind of had that four Lauren look on your face. Tony just did the thing into the camera. And so Charlie calling, Charlie calling us. It was actually a gift. Well, I texted him over the weekend. Yes. And then he texted me like 20 minutes before 240. He was like, hope this isn't too late. And I'm like, no, it's not. You are on the show, sir. Perfect. You're on. And he was worthwhile. He was awesome. He joined us. He was awesome. Do we want to go to him now? Or do we need to? No, let's go now. A little bit. Let's go now. Yeah. Let's go now. All right. Well, if you missed it, Charlie Hoffman joined us earlier. Here he is. Our guy, Charlie Hoffman is here though. And we just, we just love it when Charlie comes on the show, PGA golf tour, professional, powee zone. And you know, nice enough to spend a little time with us here on this Monday afternoon. Charlie, how you been? Good to talk to you, sir. All good. And join a nice week off here in sunny San Diego. Nice to see the June gloom sort of go away. June gloom has gone away. We've also, yeah, we've given way to July 1st. And first of all, I want to ask about this tournament yesterday. If you saw this, the rocket mortgage tournament in Detroit and, you know, as a professional golfer, you probably have a feeling like no other when you see something like this happen. Yeah, is it? And he's got a 30 foot spot needs a two put to force a playoff. And, and then the second put was what? Four foot, three four footer and a lift out. Cam Davis gets the win. Cam Davis even said he wouldn't wish that on anybody, even though he was the winner. How does, how much pain is that for some, I mean, I don't know that the guy sleeps for a month after missing that one. Well, if you've played golf long enough, we've all been there. Akshay is obviously one of our younger, brighter stars on the PGA tour. And he played for phenomenal golf. But I happen to catch it literally maybe the last hole or two of that golf tournament. I was down, hang on with the family down by the beach. But, you know what? It's one of those, the guys played so amazing, had to have three put all week and then nothing all I have to do is two putt because that first putt was, that TV doesn't do justice on that, like green, how much undulation there is on that green. So it, the putt he missed wasn't an easy putt. Now, he should have probably, that first putt should have been a little bit closer, but it's one of those. You don't, you don't, you want to win golf tournaments, you never want to lose them. I've lost them, I've won some. But he, he, he's obviously going to be kicking himself because he played some amazing golf and, and he didn't get a chance to go a few extra hole with Cam and came with the beneficiary of it. Charlie, I feel like every time we have you on, especially lately, we've had to ask like, you know, kind of tough golf questions, state of golf. So I'll start a little different this time. Padre's playing some good baseball. Are you following them right now? How are you feeling as a Padre fan watching this team play some better baseball? I, I, I took the family to a game a few weeks ago against Oakland and it was a blast. And they won in a, a walk off fashion. It was one of the walk off wins. And it was, it was fun to be part of. And then they went on their losing streak. They went on the run when they were losing, they got some fire afterwards. So to say the least, I try to, I try to stay engaged via being on the East Coast and doing, doing playing golf or living, you know, I don't rarely catch live games, but it's, it's fun to watch them play some, some decent baseball. And hopefully I get a run for the playoff because I, I think our team is breathing good. And it's, uh, I think got the power to go, go a long distance in the playoffs. Charlie Hoffman, our guy on the PGA tour, our guest here on Gwen and Chris and, uh, uh, Charlie, I mean, follow up with another short putt question. Well, you, you guys, you guys missed the Portugal this one. Oh, thank you. I'm going to get out onto my seat here. Got both of you guys watching this Portugal soccer thing. I couldn't find it on TV in the break. Yes. Great. We couldn't find it on our TV. He doesn't know where it is. So, uh, wow, thank you, Charlie, for the update. And Portugal is thankfully through to the, uh, Euro quarter finals. That is great news. That is great news. Uh, but I'm going to ask you about another short putt, putt. And that's Rory at the US Open. And I know we, I don't know, maybe we like to, to, to try to make Rory out to be the bad guy, but did he owe it to us? You know, we're there, the media I'm talking about. We're there when he wins. We're there, you know, when things happen. Uh, you know, he missed it. I can totally get how frustrating it had to be, but was that the right move or do you understand him kind of just getting out of there and heading for the hills after that US Open on trying to figure out a way to answer this question without become, uh, some sort of viral, uh, sensation. Uh, uh, there was a period of time where he couldn't keep the mic out of Rory's mouth about what he wanted to talk to her in the state of golf in the PGA tour. And then when the, I would say the most candid time in someone's life, when you should answer those questions because there's a reason why we're making millions of dollars is because of the media. And yes, he does owe it to the fans. And yes, uh, he does need to do that interview. We've, like I said, I've, I've never lost the US Open. I've lost golf tournaments. But yeah, you do, you do, you owe it to everybody to do that. And that's just part of the gig is to answer the hard questions and the hard times. And that's why people tune in to watch. And that's how you, that's how you have fans and why you have fans. And, uh, and unfortunately he did not do that, I'm sure if you, if I talked to him or something, I'll talk to him. He probably wish he had a, a mulligan on that and had a redo. But uh, yeah, I think he should answer those questions in a question. Certainly. Certainly wasn't the first guy who's ever lost a big tournament like in the fashion that he did. And at least in my recollection, all of them stood in front of those cameras afterwards. It was a little disappointed to see it go down like that. But, you know, Charlie, I got to ask you in terms of, you know, the PGA live, where, where are we at with the state of the PGA right now? You know, Bryson DeChamble wins that US Open, obviously on the live roster. Does that matter? Where are we at the state of PGA? Let's start there. Yeah. We'll go, we'll go back one second. When, when media is, I will say, of the purses, not of Rory's revenue is nearly 70% of the purses is our media contract. You owe it to the media to do it back to what he should have done. So you got to know where you're, where you're, where you're getting fed from. So, but, but on the note of the live in the PGA tour, thank God, since Jan one, I've been off the board and uh, I thought it was good, easier for these once, once everything was going on. But it seems to be just getting harder and harder. But I know they're in, obviously, I know as much as probably you guys know as a media knows, they're in discussion. There is, uh, talking going on, which I believe when I slowed down a lot of last year, uh, no, obviously there's not much report on them in the last year. But, uh, we have a great partner with SSG, uh, which is enabling us to, uh, I would say hopefully partner with PIP and come up with the strategic plan to be partners going forward. Because I think if you break it all down, what's best for the game of golf, in the world is for all of us to be together and play under one umbrella, not be separate, separate identities. Uh, so, where are we at with that? I don't know. But I think I think after the period of time that lives going on in producing a product, there's not a lot of, I mean, it's gaining momentum, but not a ton of momentum. The major championships I personally think have gained from them, they could argue that they lose some of those live players because not a world ranking points and so on and so forth, but their top players are playing the majors. And it gives the spike to the major championship, has already had the spike. I mean, people want to watch us all play together. So more people are even tuning in, or I would say in general, for the game of golf during the major championships, our ratings are pretty stagnant, not going up, not going down, uh, I would say for the most part, but it's something that to gain our fans back and the loyalty of our fans. I think we sort of need to be together and put the best product out there for you guys to watch. We're entertainers. I mean, we're competitors, but I mean, the reason why we, we make my, I mean, we're all competitors, but the reason why we're playing for the millions of dollars is because of the fans watching it and engagement that we have with them. And, uh, I mean, what Price did was the riveting with the fans. I mean, he sort of turned over a whole new leaf, uh, from when he was on the PJ Tour, the Live Tour, and he's, he's engaged probably more than anybody on the PJ Tour right now. And I, it was, it was great to watch him and brace all the fans and do what he did and show the motion he showed. And then, and I'm a golf fan also. I'm a player, but I'm a fan. And it was, it was great to watch. And I obviously, like he said, even once he really missed a three footer and he went it that way, but Price went out and won that golf tournament. He got it up and down from Fort and probably the hardest, if he, if he has every professional golfer, the hardest shot in all the golf is a 50 yard bunker shot. And he stuffed the six feet in US Open Conditions and US Open Pressure. You got to take your hat off to that and say, well done, Bryce. And then the way he answered the questions and his interviews were great. So I, I mean, I guarantee Bryce and all of a sudden earned a lot more fans because of that, that performance than, and then Roy did, that's for sure. Yeah. Scrabby's been a, uh, Bryce and Hader for a long time. And thanks Chris, who's coming in, coming along in a Rory lover to have to say Rory lover. Yeah, we're going to talk in a weird spot. We're going to flop you here as you should. Charlie Hoffman is with us. Charlie's had a couple of top 10s this year on tour. And, you know, I mean, I, again, I think that's remarkable. I, you know, you're, you're been a, been in the, in the game for so long, Charlie. I mean, 47 years old is, you know, that's, it's. I'm old. You're, you're, you're still the young man as far as some of us are concerned, but to finish the game in the game of professional sports. I'm old. I mean, no, there's no game of life. I'm not in the game. There's no doubt in professional sports. And I mean, to have two top 10s and you talked about, you just wanted to be healthy. He just wanted to feel good. Uh, where are we here as we hit the midway point of the scene? I mean, are you still holding up good? I'm holding up good. Uh, my team that I've established through trainers, chiropractors, swing instructors, we're, we're all kicking on all cylinders, everything's, everything's great. It's actually, uh, it's been good traveling. Uh, it's usually my hardest part. I think we figured something out with some, uh, new gadgets, Y, Y to keep sort of the blood flow going and everything going. And it's really worked out as of late. Uh, so I feel healthy. I mean, it's just life in general. I mean, I was out on the water this morning on the Jessica daughter wakeboarding and no pain. Usually sitting down pain going over bumps his pain, zero pain whatsoever. Uh, I feel great. I, now that could change tomorrow night because I've, I've been through this before, but as of right this second, everything's great. Uh, and I'm looking forward to going to, I'm, I took this week off the sort of strategic we're hanging out with the family. Uh, as I said, as I say, you can, uh, you can't buy memories in the, and you get, you got to make them. So it's been in time with the family during the summer, uh, here in San Diego, as I'm trying to take, trying to play golf, uh, competitively, but most importantly, uh, make sure my, my kids remember me and have a, have a great time during the summers when we can spend some time together. Yeah. Well, we, we, we really appreciate you taking some time out to, to hang out with us. Don't pull a muscle answering this last question, Charlie, uh, but I am playing Torrey Pines for the first time ever on Friday. And I'm, I got to be honest, I mean, I'm pretty freaked out about it. Freaked out. I am. I don't know why. It's a golf course. Yeah. Well, but you've seen me on, you know, certain courses, things don't always go my way. I mean, I'm, you know, I, I think I'm good enough to play a little over bogey golf, but I just give me anything I can take with me out to the course Friday, Charlie. I'll, it'll be forever appreciated. You know, Torrey, Torrey is a, you know, you play in the south, I assume. Yes, we are. Yeah, we are. Uh, the south golf course is the use of them, caliber golf course. Now the rough, I assume not going to be up. I've been out there since, uh, January or February. So it, what do you want to do it, Torrey? Uh, it's actually not that demanding the golf course off the tee, I would say. I mean, it's a long golf course. So if you play the correct tee, so don't, you don't need to play, I'll go back and make a play. No, never 7,500 yards, whatever it is. Just go out and play the correct tee. But most importantly, the greens are, the greens are structured very hard to almost repel balls and like the back, little shelf hits the center of the green. Don't, don't worry about where that pin is and try to, try to make a putt, uh, from the center of the green, because getting up and down around those greens is sometimes challenging. So I wouldn't try to challenge those pins too much and try to hit those center of the greens and, uh, hopefully make a couple long cuts for birdie. Uh, man, I'm so, I made a long one today and I think that used it up for the week. I'm a little worried about that. Can you explain bogey goals? Now that you have a professional goal for it. Hold on. You made a long cut. You made a long cut. You used it for the week or the year. I'm not. Maybe the year. This one was long enough to baby. I use it for the year. I think you're right, Charlie. Yeah. Matt gets mad at me because I, in my head, I play bogey golf. So I, I add a, I add a stroke to every hole. And if I get a bogey, then I call it a par in my head. I said that's not a thing. Matt gets mad at it for doing that, but I don't know. That's how I make my way around the course. So I don't know what your thoughts on that are, but your thoughts are whatever you, you know, your handicap and that's what's great about the game of golf is. If you keep a valid handicap, I could go give you an extra amount of shots and we could have a great competition. That's what's great about it. If you're relevant, what par is for someone, I would say average golfers, but if you keep, if you actually keep score, you can have a great round or a great competition with anybody, no matter what their hand, I mean, I like the game with the guys on the golf course. And I've had some of my best matches against a 17, a 14 handicap because guess what? They're getting a shot on every single hole, and I've got to play my butt off. They make a par, it's a birdie. They make a birdie, it's an eagle. So I really enjoy those, sometimes those competitions amongst friends that are getting a ton of strokes. It makes me sort of, I mean, every shot means something because if you make a par, I've got to make a birdie. But so your thought process is fine, but I would challenge you to maybe try to make some par for birdies, not just bogey for pars. I challenge one of these days, one of these days, maybe not Friday, but maybe the next time after that. Charlie, thanks so much for joining us. Have a great, happy 4th of July, and you know, you're welcome anytime. So you're, you know, you want to check in, just give us a call. We love to have you on and good luck. Also, real quick, wanted to say congratulations to my parents because yesterday they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Hey, congrats. Mama and papa scrapie. 4040. The only man I know that Mr. and Mrs. Scravey. 40 years. That's fantastic and considering you are 39. Yes. That means your mom and dad had a one relatively good year. Stop dad or. Yeah, he's just. No time. He's did no time. He's did no time. Do you see my brain just malfunction? Right to the exit. Chris is talking about something disgusting. I call him dad. Like what? You had one really good. That's what that's what married people do. No, right away. Okay, start off. They went to, they went to Ruth's Chris last night. I forced them to go to dinner. They didn't want to do anything. I was like, you guys need to go. That's a good dinner right there. Yeah, Ruth's Chris. Yeah, absolutely. Scravey, you're not getting your allowance. They bring you anything back straight? Uh, no, no, no. Of course, no. Are you kidding me? Ruth's Chris is all right, but I mean $14 for three pieces of French fried potatoes seems a little much. Thanks. Didn't know I asked you but six asparagus. $19. Come on. Come on, Ruth's. My parents had a great time at Ruth's Chris, so yeah, 40 years big deal. I say congratulations to my great time putting that up with my dad. Bill came. Chris just is still going on now. Yeah, a little heavy. Our guy, Matt Snyder of CBS Sports has been doing his power rankings all season long from Major League Baseball. And in this week's ranking, the Padres were the actual, actually the biggest movers up by jumping from 14 to 10. And the Texas Rangers, the team they're about to play were the team that dropped the most going from 16 to 23. Chris are the Padres in the top 10 of MLB teams right now. Are they a top 10 team? Yes. Right now. This week they were you know, I'm not ready to anoint them that until they prove they can keep it up. But yeah, the way things have gone right this minute, they do. They seem like a top 10 team. And again, before you say, oh, you're just saying that because you know, you're paid by the Padres. You're a shell. Yeah, I'm not paid by the Padres. And I say it because I think there's a lot of room to be better as in Darvish and Musgrove and Tetis and Bogart's getting healthy. So I think that 10 is fair right now. Tony is 10 a fair spot for the Padres right now. On the power rankings. Matt, I think it is fair. I think it is fair. We've gone over, oh, well, a nozzle about how there aren't that many teams over 500 in the big league. So considering that the Padres are now one of them, I would say, yes, that puts them in the top 10 in terms of, you know, being at that spot in power rankings. They've played well enough here, especially in the last week to earn that. And I assume these power rankings are every week. So yes, that could change in another week. Absolutely. They have the 12th best record. We've seen a change in another week. Yeah. All right. According to MLB.com, the Dodgers are looking from some starting rotation help. And this help could be in the form of White Sox starting pitcher Garrett Crochet. There's been tons of talk about Crochet and what he would actually bring to a team with his first with this being his first full year as a starter. And also coming off injury last year, Tony. Like, how do I explain this? This is never a good sign when I can't explain my own question. But like when Matt Schurzer was acquired by the Metchers are trained to turn her acquired by the Dodgers. All of us are like, Oh, great. And it's scared us like those, those guys are going to be playing for the Dodgers. Is this a move that would quote, unquote scare you? I don't know that those moves scared us per se, except the fact that we have to then we have to then face them, right? Like, it's one thing to get a guy, but it's another thing to get a guy that's in your division that you you got to now face. So I, yes, if, if all things are equal, you certainly don't want crochet to go to a team that you're competing with in the division. Chris, what do you think with this move, quote, unquote, scare you? Yes, it would. Yes, I couldn't come out at night. Okay, he's making fun of me. Well, no, I don't know. I couldn't come out. I'm trying to try to get grasp, you know, the direction of the question. This guy's got 141 strikeouts and only 101 innings. That's really absurd. They've already got glass now who is either ahead of that or close. So that means anytime you face the Dodgers, you already know it's going to be tough. Now you might have to be dealing with two of the toughest guys to actually hit in all a baseball. And that's before Kershaw and everybody else ever gets healthy. I don't think anything's going to equal the Scherzer one though, because Scherzer for an at least an hour and a half was a pod wreck in our minds. That's right. Yeah, I'll never forget that. That's why that one hurt the most because it was not only did they get Scherzer, but we lost him. He was on the plane to San Diego at one point. We felt like he was. I don't know how true any of it was, but we certainly felt like he was ours. Toughest crochet. You know, going forward, I think it would be a bigger deal than the rest of this year. He's already pitched more innings this year than the rest of his career combined. So we'll see how much he's got left for the second half. Excuse me. Number three. The Home Run Derby has changed its format. It's less than three weeks away. And ESPN announced a new format, which will go like this. In the first round, all eight players are going to hit. And the top four Homer totals will advance to the second round. So it's no longer like that. It's no longer where you see them. And then I didn't like it. One guy wins nine to seven. And another guy loses 3832. It's fairly unfair. Yes. Sorry, buddy. You're out. Yeah, you're out. Ties are broken using the longest individual home run distance. The hitters in this is just first round hitters get three minutes or 40 pitches, whichever comes first, and they have one timeout. They also get three bonus outs. So basically after their three minutes or 40 pitches, they continue swinging until they make three more outs. So that's the first round. That's the major changes here. And then it kind of goes back to normal. Semi finals, the four remaining players are going to be seated one to four based on the first round totals. And they still have the three minutes or 40 pitches one timeout. And then at the end, the finals are only two minutes or 27 pitches. So it seems like they're trying to move this along a little bit. Chris, you're up first. My question is not about these rules, because you guys say that you like them is the home run derby more or less popular than the dunk competition these days. More more more. The dunk competitions. Well, I don't know, I made a bet of it. I couldn't even tell you who won the problem with the dunk competition. They can't get any, you know, good players. At Lee, I mean, Gunnar Henderson announced he was going to be in the baseball one today. That's already better. Even if they're the other seven guys are minor leaguers, it's a better competition than what the NBA's been putting out there with complete no-name players. So I think, you know, Adam Silver does everything right. He's got to figure out a way to get some of his star players competing in that stuff again. So yes, baseball's better because of the star power. Tony, home run derby or dunk competition? Oh, Homer Derby. And it cruises spot on the Major League Baseball has been able to keep it going even though it may have lost some of its kind of a lure because they get big name guys to do it. That people want to tune in. That's the biggest problem with the dunk contest is not that the dunks have gotten bad. You just don't have anybody in there that people actually want to see dunk against one another. You might be happy. You might get one or two at most that people are like looking forward to, but they don't get the same names involved like like Homer and Derby does. Yeah, I think unfortunately, I'm being dead serious about this. I think LeBron one day, it'll go down and he'll be a little bummed. He never did the dunk competition. You know, a lot of people, a lot of dudes blame him for it. Not once he said no, once he made the decision as an early not to do it, you know, a lot of people felt like they didn't have to do it. Then if he's not doing that, you know, say what you want about those dudes and ladies and ladies, they took on the challenge and therefore they, you know, other people follow suit. Who is going to miss Jordan Drexler and Dominique Wilkins? I mean, you're going to no one. If you couldn't get to it, you're going to tape it and watch it over and over again. All right. That was a DVR worthy event and not anymore. I think people might be a little more surprised that there is football and TNT out. I can't recall football games down on that. So you're they'll have to get used to that. But yeah, man. I mean, any big network you can get on if you're at Mountain West, jump on it. Chris, what do you think? I like it. And, you know, the NCAA basketball tournament was only three months ago. So I kind of think I remember where True TV was on a dial. So all right. We don't really need to go into the last one. It's just about Joey Chestnut. I'm glad that we can't go to the last one because it's all right. We're kind of glad to four fifty fours at a time. Happy hour. It's been pretty fun already. So who knows where it can go next on ninety seven three the fans. What's good, San Diego? Welcome into the happy hour five oh one on the clock. Tony with junior Chris, Elo Matt Scrape. It's been a fun three hours. Happy hour remaining. It seems that our friends in Washington, DC are still having conversations about the what should we call it? kerfuffle. Where does that where does that laugh originate from? It's not a laugh. It's a cry. Oh, that's this that you have the 49ers lost to the Chiefs? No, it's just one of the many times. Oh, it's just a sound like I like it. I like it. I don't like it at all. Cornholing came from. I was just right where my mouse was so you got it. I don't have to do with anything. I don't know. This does too. I'm a clown. It had nothing to do with anything but it waited even funnier than it dropped a cornholing. Cornholing. Now, to be fair, I believe was is it Jake Irvin, right? Yes, yes. I believe Jake Irvin was asked a question from our folks at Foulterritory. I think it's A.J. Prasinski. Correct. Scott Braun. And usually, who am I missing? Someone else is on there. Prasinski, by the way, was very adamant that Gore hit profile on purpose. Like, they're, I know, I know, but I'm just saying, I'm saying, I'm backing that up. Dude, it's a huge human being. I can't. It's a huge human being. Andre, the giant, former, former the catcher, former catcher for the Phillies. You dream come on, man. I'm looking. I don't see it. Let me Foulterritory TV people. Huge. Anyway, catcher for the Phillies. Huge human being. Like these big dude. He, they were doing an interview with Jake Irvin. He was asked about the fisticuffs or the, you know, fake fisticuffs that happened. Jason Kipnis. Scrave, he's about to give it. Nope, it's not Kipnis. I'll figure it out. You don't worry about it. Anyway, let's play that sound from that interview there, Scrave. I think it's, like you said, it's case to case basis. It's, it's, do whatever you want. You won the game. You did something really cool that people dream of doing. And it's a special moment. I think for me personally, you keep it within your team, make it about your boys and make it about your family. When you bring it to the other side of the field, you know, there's just a little bit different feeling for a celebration like that. I was going to echo that same statement. AJ, I'm with you. You can do whatever you want. If it's with your team, if you guys have a fun celebration, whether it's the old Adam Jones pie in the face or the Gatorade celebrations, when you start kind of crossing that line and looking into the other dugout. And I think that's, that's a little bit of where it gets a little kind of like a gray area, to be honest. So I think if it stays on your side of the field and with your guys, there is really no limit that you can do. Is that fair to say? Yeah, absolutely. And I didn't, we didn't want to hit him. We didn't want to hurt him. Guys were over it, you know, 10 minutes after the game. But we talked as a group and just said, you know, that's something that we don't want to put up with as a team. You did something that most people dream of, do what you want. Then in the same breath, he said, but once you crossed that line, you come over here and you're looking to do our dugouts, then we feel some time way. But then he said, 10 minutes after we were all over it. But then they had a meeting 10 minutes after and decided, you know what, this isn't what we're wearing. So it was a lot of there was a lot of speaking about to decide that you're over it. And then if you're over it, why did the catcher get in his face the next day, which is eight hours later, 12 hours later. Yeah, come on, that's no good. Listen, I think it misses the part of the regardless what the intention was of the past. This is the guard. They've put a ball in his chin. Yeah, that's right, Tony under his chin. Right. I think the other thing is, and I don't know if you are, you know, by trait, you are a visitor in another team's building. I don't know that you get any rights at that point. Like you, you're visiting and not only are you visiting, you lost on a walk off. I think at that point, and listen, we talked about this when it happened. Was it a little weird that it ended up on their side of the field? Yes, definitely weird. But that doesn't mean that he was staring into the dugout. I know many of them seem seemingly thought that. It looked like he was up in the stands for the most part, even though he was on their side of the field. And again, it totally, it totally misses the fast ball underneath the chin that, you know, de-cleeding him. Basically, basically, his cleats came out from under him. He hit the ground hard. If I'm not mistaken, it wasn't that with next pitch. Next couple of pitches later, he walks it off. So all of that's playing into it. And, you know, I think you know that because Winker makes the first out of the inning. And as I told you guys, the thing that he said to pro far walking out the field was, are we good? Are we good? And then pro far comes up and clearly, uh, Kiebert had different idea of what, if they were all right, he certainly wasn't over it. I don't know. Maybe he missed the team meeting that they had about, you know, being over it. I think that they all missed the team meeting about being over it, because I don't think any of them are over it later. You remember last night during the team? Oh, wait, you were not the team meeting last night. He missed it. I think we're going to see just how over it, they're not on July 23rd when the Padres go there. Because even if the players are over it, what they might be over it, but the fans are going to remember it in Washington, D.C. There's going to be loud boom when pro far comes up in that first inning. Here's the deal. Pro far still got hit and don't think that has just been swept over and it shouldn't be, you know, I won't be surprised at all if there is a, I hate to use the word get back because it's, you know, so taboo. I like it. Tony use it. But, you know, I think there's some get back. I think there's some get back possibly. I know the one thing I'm going to be tuned into that series a little more closely than some of the others. And, you know, in looking at that series, by the way, the Padres do not. This is a little jumping the gun, but they do not have an easy start to the second half of the season, the Padres. Have you seen this? Tony's three, first three? Of course, I've seen it. Yeah. Cleveland and live it. So yeah, Cleveland, D.C. and Baltimore. That's a tough right out to shoot, baby. And then when you get home Dodgers, so yeah, it's going to be tough. You know, they got two more East Coast swings. I got that one. And then the first week of August, they go to Pittsburgh, Miami. So, okay. That's that that three game road is the longest of the season for the Padres. And, you know, it'll be a chance for them to get started, get off to a good start out coming out of the break. But it won't be won't be easy. Are we on to anything else? Are we just doing a pulper rehere scrape? Or do you have something else you need to get to? No, I was just searching for new news. We got well, I got James Wood struck out in a second at bat and his helmet flew off. So he probably knew what he was doing. Yeah. Good trade. It's gonna go at bat to every bat. Yeah, we can trade her a bat. We get his home run his first home run. Here's a name that popped up on the wire today that I haven't heard in a long time. And it was a name that I really liked. And I think a lot of people really liked and a really, really popular person both, you know, on the field and in the booth, especially pretty much be loved. And you talk about making a mistake that basically cost you at all. How about John Gruden, guys? Once the last time you even heard that name, John Gruden. And since the since his since his my guy for the for the guard was, no, the watching the football team leaked all that stuff out there. That was Chris when he found out literally this was Chris when he found out that the commanders were no longer the Washington football team. That's the worst one of all time. Miss speaking on the glance lambs is better than that one there. Yeah, that one there. I don't know where I was going. It's an off day. It's a Monday. So we're getting a little bit happy. Anyway, John Gruden didn't get his name back in the news today, but it's not anything good for him. Unfortunately, lost his bid in the Nevada. He took this all the way to the Nevada Supreme Court. And he lost his bid to reconsider whether there was interference and conspiracy against him after he left the Raiders. You know, Gruden claims it was leaked on purpose that forced him to resign the racist, sexist, and homophobic emails, etc, that he sent many years earlier. So wait, he says it was all released and forwarded to force him out of his job. So he's saying he wrote them though. I don't think he was all there. And I don't think there was any there. This was what was my man's name for the foster football team that was getting them. Snyder Snyder was like, look over here. Don't look at me. Look at this guy. It only worked for Snyder for a little while. But man, he really swallowed up Gruden that I, you know, I can't stick up for anything Gruden said. So it's hard to say. I feel bad for him. And he said what he said. And if you put it out there, even if it's not been released, you're always running at risk. So yeah, man, you know, if you're talking like that, yeah, because you think it won't get out, it's gonna get you buddy. Yeah. So I feel I mean, I, because I did, I like Gruden. Who didn't like Gruden? I don't know even if it didn't like him before this stuff came out. One of the one of the one of the best hard knocks speeches of all time. I knew Tony was good. All time. Yeah, it was good. All time. Chucky was all right. But he's not all right anymore. No more. No more Mr. Chucky. No more happiness for Chucky. All right. Let's get to break. We actually are going to get to break all time for the first time in this four hour show. So kudos to us. Let's get to break Morgan and Chris on the other side here's some traffic. Hi, welcome back to good and Chris. 520 is the time. Chris, Tony, Tony, Jr. in the Tejas. Audrey, start with the Rangers tomorrow night three game series. Tony of you, I don't know that you would have gotten any word on this, but as of this morning, the Padres had not determined their starting rotation for this series. They said they might switch some things up. Had you heard anything about that? Because it says on, excuse me, MLB.com that ceases starting tomorrow, followed by Maser. And then, and then King. So I would just say that that sounds pretty accurate. Yeah, I don't think there's a anyway, we'll see if the Padres change anything up. But as as far as we know, I don't believe that'll be the case. So we'll all find out it goes together tomorrow. Technically, Cease and Evaldi tomorrow. Technically, they they would be changing things up, right? Because, you know, in terms of who's turn in the rotation, it would be. Got it. Because King would become a king just pitched the second game of this past season. Cease. Maser in the second game. I'm looking on MLB.com and they're not very, can not very helpful. Yeah, King in the third game again, Scherzer, Mac Scherzer. Right. So he still, I mean, just, it just means. Well, yeah, he came, just come back recently. He's might be his second start, I think, maybe since coming back, something along those lines. Yeah, it sounds about right. But I would say that your, your idea of the rotation is accurate. Okay. Do you think the UT's Bryce Miller gets fired up when the Seattle Mariners, Bryce Miller pitches? Wow, those weird things. Knowing, knowing Bryce Miller the way I know Bryce Miller, I don't think that like, I think it would be kind of cool if there was a pitcher in baseball named Matt Scrabie. I would close your eye on that. It's not even on his radar. Don't think so. Don't think Bryce Miller knows anything about Bryce Miller. Well, I think Bryce Miller, the pitcher is spelled B-R-Y-S-E. No, no, no. Good try. I thought he was according to this. That's the Bryce Miller, that's the Bryce Wilson from the beach. Ah, that's what I'm thinking of. Nice try, yeah. Scrabie, Mr. Bear of misinformation. He loves to use that when it works for his narrative. He's back when it works for his narrative. All-star balloting continues. Again, I can't go against and be hypocritical and tell you to hurry up and vote more, because I think I should be all-stars if they're all-stars, not because we beg you to vote. But you probably want to keep up with how things are going, and Pro-FAR has slipped a little bit behind Kristen Yellich in the outfield. 21% to 20%, and then Fernando's third was 16%, but it's very, very tight in the American League, or the National League All-Star balloting. So, do what you wish with that, arises 10 percentage points behind in the National League at second base behind Catel Marte, and Nachado is trailing out, boned by a pretty good margin at third base. So, there you have it. How did, I guess the Brewers fans just started voting, because I was looking at this, it didn't seem like Jerkson was going to get caught. I guess maybe Brewers fans. Yeah, let me just, I think because you probably haven't paid a lot since to how these, also, as you get closer to like the end date, more people, this just happens all the time, more people start paying more attention, they start voting more, and things can change pretty quickly. And then, you know, they got the campaign. Now, I think the Padres are paired with the Blue Jays. I think it's like four Padres, and one Blue Jays. It's a bloody junior. It seems like a little uneven, but you know, I guess they, what are your thoughts about the campaign, Tony? Wouldn't you just like it if people voted to who they voted for? I'm not entirely a fan of, I mean, even though I love Jerkson's little kid up on the screen asking us to vote for me, it's very cute, but I think we should vote, because we want to vote for him as the All-Star, not because they're begging us to do it. Yes, that's exactly right. That's exactly right. And, you know, but you know, that is, you know, you're taking advantage of the social media element. I mean, that's what makes, that's why they can do these campaigns now is because, you know, it doesn't cost you anything. Yeah, you smack a couple teams, players together, and you say, Hey, Blue Jays fan base, vote for us. We'll vote for your guy here in San Diego. Oh, we're supposed to see that. I mean, I don't think we are supposed to do that, but the Padres are definitely doing that. By the way, on the homepage, MLB.com, not that hype means anything. Top photo, if you go to that page, MLB.com, James Wood smoked an opposite field single on his first at bat for the Nationals. And there's a big picture of him there. Does anybody else feel like he's getting this crazy treatment that I don't know that many people even outside of us and other people know who James Wood is? I mean, he kind of, he kind of did that for himself by the kind of year he was having down in Triple A, kind of built the steam. And he's, I think he's a top like prospect and like not just his organization, but like all the base number three overall right now, according to this, do it for you. Yes, he has a challenge on MLB the show. That's how good he is. He has his own challenge. By the way, Mackenzie Gore challenge. What? Oh, on MLB. Yeah, you have to hit two extra base hits with him in a game. And it's really hard because you have to go up against Aaron Nola. Aaron Nola keeps blowing me away every time. Okay, I don't know what you're talking about. But I do know this Mackenzie Gore may go punch CJ Abrams. Oh, no, in a battle of former Padres any moment now. Oh, no, because you know what happens with Gore. He doesn't like when guys don't make a play for him. He just got taken out of this game with a two nothing lead Tony. Next batter up with two men on hit a ground ball to an under CJ Abrams glove for an error. Next guy followed with a two run double and now the Mets are ahead three to two. Gore this is after he came out after he came out. CJ made the error and now the lead is gone. So don't expect he's doing the don't expect Mackenzie Gore to welcome CJ Abrams back into the dugout with a big hug. He is CJ better get his better get his guard up when he walks in there. Mackenzie Gore, they showed a shot of him and they did show us out of him. And he is not truly that gum real fast. Yeah, he didn't look pleased. He also has a weird hat. Have you ever noticed that his hat doesn't fit his head? No, I do notice that he didn't want to come out of the game in the first place. And he kind of barked at Davey Martinez. How many pitches did he find now? Yeah, 104 in the sixth. Hey, bro. Listen, listen, listen. Oh, I'm not agreeing with you. I'm yeah, I'm not agreeing with you. No, you're not. I'm talking. I'm talking about talking. Oh, look at that shot of him stewing in the dugout right now. So angry right now. There is steam coming out of his ears. I'm fake talking to Mackenzie right now. But yeah, bro, if you're gonna throw 104 pitches and how many innings four and what? Five and a two thirds. Yeah. Five and two thirds, they're gonna come get you. I mean, that's this isn't new to to the 24 baseball. Yeah. So like, if you aren't efficient, they are going to come get you whether you have a lead or not. That is just the way it goes. And and so, you know, the step for Mackenzie now is because it's clear, dude, his stuff is is high level. I mean, he was throwing 94 mile per hour sliders against Padres the other day. Like you just don't see that. But if you can't take the next step to now be efficient, you know, it's kind of like what Michael King Michael King in his last start. Really good. And he was really good not because he got the six innings because he did it in like 85 pitches. He was efficient. If you're 105 and you're not through, you know, you and, you know, the team is knocking on the door and your stress pitches are going high, they're going to come get you. So I assume Mackenzie's upset with himself. I know the errors happened thereafter. And I'm sure I see stews in that anger after this after he goes into the clubhouse. So think about it like, man, what could I have done to put myself in a better spot? And that is be it more efficient with my cat, my pitch count. They, you know, they're looking at it as a young guy. You just think he's going to say to himself as he goes down the locker, CJ Abrams better not cross my line of sight right now. It was a total boot. Like it was right under his glove between his legs. Set up the big rally. CJ is turning into a, CJ is turning into a really fine offensive player. Yes, he is. He just has some, he just has some laps in concentration at times. I mean, whether it's the two plays in San Diego. Yeah, no kidding. Yeah, that was bad. He booed it one. He booed had a big error in that Padres series that led to some runs too. And so CJ is going to be awesome, man. Well, he's a little too important to the team. I don't know. Nick Sinzell's a starter. He didn't have any problem one to punch him out. That's true. That's very true. He was waiting for Sinzell when he came off this. Now, now, it's, Sinzell's not a small dude. So, you know, he definitely was risking something. Sinzell decided to haul off and take one on. I mean, he would have that skinny frame would have had to eat a nice thick punch. All right. Met three gnats to bottom of the six. If you're wondering when in Chris, we were visited earlier today and it was fun. Charlie Hoffman from the PGA had some, some good commentary, some fun stuff, and took a little shot at Scrabby's favorite golf for Rory McElroy. It's all coming up in the next half hour. Stick around 737 here in Dallas 537 there in San Diego last segment of the day. Charlie Hall. I'm joined us. Here we got it was a surprise visit, by the way. Scrabby came to the table with literally nothing. I, you know, you didn't get to see him, Tony. I walked in. He had his both his palms up in the air. It was kind of sad. I was, I was actually, we talked about it on Friday. To be fair, to be fair. Yes, to be fair, Scrabby put out a bunch of fillers. No one, no one got back. But it was funny or to say that he came to the table. You look like that. That's why the character Oliver from the old movie alms for the poor. Just kind of had that four Lauren look on your face. Tony just did the thing into the camera. So Charlie calling, Charlie calling us. It was actually a gift. Why was a move? He didn't have anything. Yes. And then he texted me like 20 minutes before 240. I was like, I hope this isn't too late. I'm like, no, it's not. You are on the show, sir. Perfect. You're on. And he was worthwhile. He was awesome. He joined us. He was awesome. Do we want to go to him now or do we need to? No, let's go now. Let's go now. Yeah, let's go now. All right. Well, if you missed it, Charlie Hoffman joined us earlier. Here he is. Our guy, Charlie Hoffman is here though. And we just we just love it when Charlie comes on the show, PGA golf tour, professional, Poway zone. And you know, nice enough to spend a little time with us here on this Monday afternoon. Charlie, how you been? Good to talk to you, sir. All good. Enjoying a nice week off here. And sunny San Diego, nice to see the June gloom sort of go away. June gloom has gone away. We've also, yeah, we've given way to July 1st. And first of all, I want to ask you about this tournament yesterday. If you saw this, the rocket mortgage tournament in Detroit and, you know, as a professional golfer, you probably have a feeling like no other when you see something like this happen. Yeah, is it? And he's got a 30 foot spot needs a two putt to force a playoff. And, and then the second putt was what four foot three, four footer and a lift out. Cam Davis gets the win. Cam Davis even said he wouldn't wish that on anybody, even though he was the winner. How does how much pain is that for some? I mean, I don't know that the guy sleeps for a month after missing that one. Well, if you play golf long enough, we've all been there. Akshay, obviously, one of our younger brighter stars on the PGA tour. And he played for phenomenal golf. I happened to catch literally maybe the last hole or two back off. And I was down, hanging out with the family down by the beach. But you know what? It's one of those the guys played so amazing, had to have three putt all week. And then nothing all I have to do is to putt because that first putt was, that TV doesn't do justice on that green, how much undulation there is on that green. So it, the putt he missed wasn't an easy putt. Now, he should have probably, that first putt should have been a little bit closer. But it's one of those. You don't, you don't, you want to win golf tournaments. You never want to lose them. I've lost them. I've won some. But he, he, he's obviously going to be kicking himself because he played some amazing golf. And, and he didn't get a chance to go a few extra holes with Cam and, uh, Cam with the beneficiary of it. Charlie, I feel like every time we have you on, especially lately, we've had to ask like, you know, kind of tough golf questions, state of golf. So I'll start a little different this time. Padres playing some good baseball. Are you following them right now? How you feeling as a Padres fan watching this team, uh, play some better. You know what I, we, I, I took the family to a game a few weeks ago against Oakland. And it was a, a blast. And they won in a, a walk off fashion. It was one of the walk off wins. Um, and it was, it was fun to be part of. And then they went on their losing streak. They went on the road and went on losing three minutes off the fire afterwards. So to say the least, I tried, I tried to stay, engaged via being on the East Coast and doing, doing playing golf or living, I don't rarely catch live games, but, uh, it's, uh, it's fun to watch them play some, some decent baseball. And, uh, hopefully I get a run for the playoff because I think our team's breathing good. And it's, uh, I think got the power to go, go a long distance in the playoffs. Charlie Hoffman, our guy on the PGA tour, our guest here on Gwen and Chris and, uh, uh, Charlie, I mean, follow up with another short putt question. Well, you guys, you guys missed it. Portugal is one. Oh, thank you. I'm sweating it out. I'm going to do my seed here. Got both of you guys watching this Portugal soccer thing. I couldn't find it on TV in the break. Yes. Gravy couldn't find it on our TV. He doesn't know where it is. So, uh, wow. Thank you, Charlie, for the update. And Portugal is thankfully through to the, uh, Euro quarter finals. That is great news. That is great news. Uh, but I'm going to ask you about another short putt, putt. And that's Rory at the US Open. And I know we, I don't know. Maybe we like to, to, to try to make Rory out to be the bad guy, but did he owe it to us? You know, we're there, the media I'm talking about. We're there when he wins. We're there, you know, when things happen. Uh, you know, he missed it. I can totally get how frustrating it had to be, but was that the right move or do you understand him kind of just getting out of there and heading for the hills after that US Open? I'm trying to figure out a way to answer this question without become, uh, some sort of viral, uh, sensation. Uh, uh, there was a period of time where you couldn't keep the mic out of Rory's mouth about what he wanted to talk to her in the state of golf in the PGA tour. And then when the, I would say the most candid time in someone's life, when you should answer those questions because there's a reason why we're making millions of dollars is because of the media. And yes, he does owe it to the fans. And yes, uh, he does need to do that interview. I, we've, like I said, I've, I've never lost the US Open. I've lost golf tournaments, but yeah, you do, you do, you owe it to everybody to do that. And that's just part of the gig is the answer to the hard questions and the hard times. And that's why people tune in to watch. And that's how you, that's how you have fans and why you have fans and, uh, and unfortunately he did not do that. I'm sure if you, if I talk to him or someone else, talk to me, probably wish he had a, a mulligan on that and had a, had a redo. But, uh, yeah, I, I think he should have answered those questions. No question. Fair enough. Obviously, on the live roster, does that matter? Where are we at the state of PGA? Let's start there. Yeah. We'll go, we'll go back one second. When, when media is, I will say, of the person is not a Rory's revenue is nearly 70% of the purses is our media contract. You owe it to the media to do it back to what he should have done. So you gotta know where you're, where you're, where you're getting fed from. So, but, but on the note of the live in the PGA tour, thank God since Jan one, I've been off the board and, uh, I thought it would get easier for these once, once everything was going on. But it seems to be just getting harder and harder. But I know they're in, obviously, I know as much as probably you guys know as a media knows, they're in discussion. There is, uh, talking going on, which I believe in, I slowed down a lot of last year. Uh, no, obviously there's not much report on them in the last year, but, uh, we have a great partner with SSG, uh, which is enabling us to, uh, I would say hopefully partner with PIP and come up with the strategic plan to be partners going forward because I think if you break it all down, what's best for the game of golf in the world is for all of us to be together and play under one umbrella and not be separate, separate identities. Uh, so where are we at with that? I don't know, but I think, I think after the period of time that lives going on in producing a product, there's not a lot of, I mean, it's gaining momentum, but not a ton of momentum. Uh, the major championships I personally think have gained from them. They could argue that they lose some of those live players because not a world ranking points and so on and so forth, but their top players are playing the majors and it gives the spike to the major championship, has already had the spike. I mean, people want to watch us all play together. So more people are even tuning in, or I would say in general, for the game of golf during the major championships, our ratings are pretty stagnant, not going up, not going down. Uh, I would say for the most part, but it's something that to gain our fans back and the loyalty of our fans. I think we sort of need to be together and give, put the best product out there for you guys to watch. I mean, he, he sort of turned over a whole new leaf, uh, from when he was on the PJ tour, the live tour. And he's, he's engaged probably more than anybody on the PJ tour right now. And I, it was, it was great to watch him embrace all the fans and do what he did and show them, most of me showed. And then, and I'm a golf fan also. I'm a player, but I'm a fan. And it was, it was great to watch. And I obviously, like you said, even once he really missed a three footer and went it that way, but Bryce went out and won that golf tournament. He got it up and down from Ford and probably the hardest, if you ask every professional golfer, the hardest shot in all the golf is a 50 yard bunker shot. And he stuffed the six feet in US open conditions and US open pressure. You got to take your hat off to that and say, well done, Bryce. And then the way he answered the questions and his interviews were great. So I, I mean, if I guarantee Bryce and all of a sudden earned a lot more fans because of that, that performance than, and then Rory did, that's for sure. Yeah. Scrabby's been a, uh, Bryce and Hader for a long time. And thanks Chris, who's coming, coming along in a Rory lover to it. A Rory lover. Yeah. We're going to talk in a weird spot. We're going to flop you here as you should. Charlie Hoffman is with us. Charlie's had a couple of top 10s this year on tour. And, you know, I mean, again, I think that's remarkable. I, you know, you're, you're been in, been in the game for so long, Charlie. I mean, 47 years old is, you know, that sits. I'm old. Yeah. You're, you're still young man as far as some of us are concerned, but to finish, in the game, in the game of professional sports, I'm old. Uh, my team that I, that was through trainers, chiropractors, swing instructors, we're, we're all kicking on all cylinders, everything, everything is great. It's actually a, it's been good traveling. Uh, it's usually my hardest part. I think we figured something out with some, uh, new gadgets, why, to keep sort of the blood flow going and everything going. And it's really worked out as of late. Uh, so I feel healthy. I mean, this life in general, I mean, I was out on the water this morning on the Jessica daughter, wakeboarding and no pain. Usually sitting down pain going over bumps, this pain, zero pain whatsoever. Uh, I feel great. I, now that could change tomorrow night because I've, I've been through this before, but as of right this second, everything's great. Uh, and I'm looking forward to going to, I'm, I took this week off the sort of strategic, we're hanging out with the family of, and as I said, as I say, you can't, you can't buy memories in that. And you get, you got to make them. So it's been a time with the family during the summer here in San Diego. I'm trying to take, trying to play golf, uh, competitively, but most importantly, uh, make sure my, my kids remember me and have a, have a great time during the summers when we can spend some time together. Yeah. Well, we, we, we really appreciate you taking some time out to, to hang out with us. Don't pull a muscle answering this last question, Charlie. Uh, but I am playing Tory Pines for the first time ever on Friday. And I'm, I gotta be honest, I mean, I'm pretty freaked out about it. Freaked out. I am. I don't want to. You know, Tory, Tory is a US guy. You play in the south, I assume. Yes, we are. Yeah, we are. The south golf course is the use of a caliber golf course. Now the rough, I assume not going to be up. I haven't been out there since January or February. So what do you want to do at Tory? Uh, it's actually not that demanding the golf course off the tee, I would say. I mean, it's a long golf course. So if you play the correct tee, so don't, you don't need to play, all the way back and make a play, no, over 7,500 yards, whatever it is, just go out and play the correct key. But most importantly, the greens are, the greens are structured very hard to almost repel balls and like the back little shelf hits the center of the green. Don't, don't worry about where that pen is and try to, try to make a putt from the center of the green, because getting up and down around those greens is some, sometimes challenging. So I wouldn't try to challenge those pens too much and just try to hit those center of the greens and hopefully make a couple long cuts for Birdie. Uh, man, I'm so, I made a long one today and I think that used it up for the week. Can you explain bogey golf? Now that you have a professional golfer, hold on. You made a long cut. You made a long cut using it for the week or the year. I'm not. Maybe the year. This one was long enough to baby. I use it for the year. I think you're right, Charlie. So I don't know what your thoughts on that are, but your thoughts are whatever you, you know your handicap and that's what's great about the game of golf is if you keep a valid handicap, I could go give you extra amount of shots and we could have a great competition. That's what's great about. If you relevant, what par is for someone, I would say average golfers, but if you keep, if you actually keep score, you can have a great round or a great competition with anybody. No matter what their hand, I mean, I like the game with the guys on the golf course and I've had some of my best matches against the 17 or 14 handicap because guess what? They're getting a shot on every single hole and I've got to play my butt off. They make a part of birdie. They make a birdie it's an eagle. So I really enjoy those, sometimes those competitions amongst friends that are getting a ton of strokes. They make me sort of, I mean every shot means something because if you make a par, I've got to make a birdie. But so your thought process is fine, but I would challenge you to maybe try to make some par for birdies, not just bogeys for par. Yes. One of these days. Challenge. One of these days. Maybe not Friday, but maybe the next time after that. Charlie, thanks so much for joining us. Have a great happy 4th of July and you know, you're welcome anytime. So you know, you want to check in, just give us a call. We love to have you on and good luck. Enjoy the week with your family. Thanks, fella. Enjoy the 4th also and we'll talk soon. Our guy Charlie Hoffman is here though, and we just love it when Charlie comes on the show, PGA Golf Tour Professional, Power Zone, and nice enough to spend a little time with us here on this Monday afternoon. Charlie, how you been? Good to talk to you, sir. All good, and join a nice week off here in sunny San Diego. Nice to see the June Gloom sort of go away. June Gloom has gone away. We've also given way to July 1st. First of all, I want to ask you about this tournament yesterday. If you saw this, the Rocket Mortgage Tournament in Detroit, and as a professional golfer, you probably have a feeling like no other when you see something like this happen. Yeah, is it? And he's got a 30 foot spot needs a two-putt to force a play off. And then the second putt was what? Four foot, three four footer, and a lift out. Cam Davis gets the win. Cam Davis even said he wouldn't wish that on anybody, even though he was the winner. How much pain is that? I mean, I don't know that the guy sleeps for a month after missing that one. Well, if you've played golf long enough, we've all been there. Akshay is obviously one of our younger brighter stars on the PGA Tour, and he played for phenomenal golf. I happen to catch literally maybe the last hole or two as that golfer. I was down, hanging out with the family down by the beach. But you know what? It's one of those the guys who played so amazing, had to have three putt all week, and then nothing all I have to do is two putt because that first putt was, that TV doesn't do justice on that green. How much undulation there is on that green. So the putty miss wasn't an easy putt. Now, he should have probably, that first putt should have been a little bit closer, but it's one of those. You don't, you don't, you want to win golf tournaments, you never want to lose them. I've lost them, I've won some, but he, he's obviously going to be kicking himself because he played some amazing golf, and he didn't get a chance to go a few extra holes with Cam and Cam with the beneficiary of it. Charlie, I feel like every time we have you on, especially lately, we've had to ask like, you know, kind of tough golf questions, state of golf. So I'm starting a little different this time. Padre's playing some good baseball. Are you following them right now? How you feeling as a Padre fan watching this team play some better baseball as well? You know, I took the family to a game a few weeks ago against Oakland, and it was a blast, and they won in a walk-off fashion. It was one of those walk-off wins. And it was, it was fun to be part of. And then they went on their losing streak. They went on the run when they were losing three minutes off from the fire afterwards. So to say the least, I try to, I try to stay engaged via being on the east coast and doing, doing playing golf or living. I don't rarely catch live games, but it's, it's fun to watch them play some, some decent baseball. And hopefully I get a run for the playoff because I think our team is breathing good. And it's, I think got the power to go, go a long distance in the playoffs. Charlie Hoffman, our guy on the PGA Tour, our guest here on Gwen and Chris and Charlie, I mean, follow up with another short putt question. Well, you guys, you guys missed the Portugal this one. Oh, thank you. I'm sweating it out on my seat here. Got both of you guys watching this Portugal soccer thing. I couldn't find it on TV in the break. Yes, gravy couldn't find it on our TV. He doesn't know where it is. So, wow, thank you, Charlie, for the update. And Portugal is thankfully through to the Euro quarter finals. That is great news. That is great news. But I'm going to ask you about another short putt putt and that's Rory at the US Open. And I know we, I don't know, maybe we like to, to try to make Rory out to be the bad guy. But did he owe it to us? You know, we're there, the media I'm talking about. We're there when he wins, we're there, you know, when things happen. You know, he missed it. I can totally get how frustrating it had to be. But was that the right move or do you understand him kind of just getting out of there and heading for the hills after that US Open? I'm trying to figure out a way to answer this question without becoming some sort of viral sensation. If there was a period of time where you couldn't keep the mic out of Rory's mouth about what he wanted to talk to her in the state of golf in the PGA tour. And then when the, I would say the most candid time in someone's life when you should answer those questions because there's a reason why we're making millions of dollars in this because of media. And yes, he does owe it to the fans. And yes, he does need to do that interview. We've, like I said, I've never lost the US Open. I've lost golf tournaments. But yeah, you do, you do, you owe it to everybody to do that. And that's just part of the gig is the answer to the hard questions and the hard times. And that's why people tune in to watch. And that's how you, that's how you have fans and why you have fans. And, and unfortunately he did not do that. I'm sure if you, if I talked to him or someone else talked to him, we probably wish he had a mulligan on that and had a, had a redo. But yeah, I think he should have answered those questions. No question. Fair enough. Certainly wasn't the first guy who, who's ever lost a big tournament like in the fashion that he did. And at least in my recollection, all of them stood in front of those cameras afterwards. It was a little disappointed to see it go down like that. But you know, Charlie, I got to ask you in terms of, you know, the PGA live, where, where are we at with the state of the PGA right now? You know, Bryson DeChamble wins that US Open, obviously on the live roster. Does that matter? Where are we at the state of PGA? Let's start there. Yeah. We'll go, we'll go back one second. When, when media is, I will say, of the purses, not of Rory's revenue is nearly 70% of the purses is our media contract. You owe it to the media to do back to what he should have done. So you got to know where you're, where you're getting fed from. So, but, but on the note of the live in the PGA tour, thank God since Jan one, I've been off the board. And I thought it was good easier for these guys. Once, once everything was going on, but it seems to be just getting harder and harder. But I know they're in, obviously, I know as much as probably you guys know as a media knows, they're in discussion. There is talking going on, which believe it or not slowed down a lot of last year. No, obviously, there's not much to report on them in the last year. But we have a great partner with SSG, which is enabling us to, I would say, hopefully partner with PIP and come up with the strategic plan to be partners going forward, because I think if you break it all down, what's best for the game of golf? In the world is for all of us to be together and play under one umbrella and not be separate, separate identities. So where are we at with that? I don't know, but I think I think after the period of time that lives going on in producing a product, there's not a lot of, I mean, it's gaining momentum, but not a ton of momentum. The major championships, I personally think, have gained from them. They could argue that they lose some of those live players, because not world ranking points and so on and so forth. But their top players are playing the majors. And it gives the spike to the major championships. It's already had the spike. I mean, people want to watch us all play together. So more people are even tuning in, I would say, in general, for the game of golf during the major championships, our ratings are pretty stagnant, not going up, not going down, I would say, for the most part, but it's something that to gain our fans back and the loyalty of our fans. I think we sort of need to be together and put the best product out there for you guys to watch. We're entertainers. I mean, we're competitors, but I mean, the reason why we make my, I mean, we're all competitors, but the reason why we're playing for the millions of dollars is because of the fans watching it and the engagement that we have with them. And I mean, what Price did was the riveting with the fans. I mean, he sort of turned over a whole new leaf from when he was on the PJ Tour to live tour. And he's engaged probably more than anybody on the PJ Tour right now. And it was great to watch him embrace all the fans and do what he did and show them most of these shows. And I'm a golf fan also. I'm a player, but I'm a fan. And it was great to watch. And obviously, like he said, even once he really missed a three footer and went that way, but Bryson went out and won that golf tournament. He got it up and down from Ford and probably the hardest, if you ask every professional golfer, the harder shot in all the golf is a 50 yard bunker shot. And he stuffed the six feet in US Open Conditions and US Open Pressure. You got to take your hat off to that and say, well done, Bryson. And then the way he answered the questions and his interviews were great. So I mean, I guarantee Bryson all of a sudden earned a lot more fans because that performance and then Roy, that's for sure. Yeah, Scrabby's been a Bryson hater for a long time. Thanks, Chris, coming in coming along in a Rory lover to a Rory lovers. Yeah, we're going to get a weird spot. We're going to flip a lot here. As you should, Charlie Hoffman is with us. Charlie's had a couple of top 10s this year on tour. And, you know, I mean, again, I think that's remarkable. You know, you're you're been in the in the game for so long, Charlie. I mean, 47 years old is, you know, that's it's a mole. Yeah, you're you're still young man, as far as some of us are concerned. But to finish the game in the game of professional sports, I'm old. I mean, no, there's no game of life. I'm not there's no doubt in professional sports. And I mean, to have two top 10s. And you talked about you just wanted to be healthy. You just wanted to feel good. Where are we here as we hit the midway point of the sea? I mean, are you still holding up good? I'm holding up good. My team that I established through trainers, chiropractors, swing instructors, we're all kicking on all cylinders, everything's everything's great. It's actually a it's been good traveling. It's usually my hardest part. I think we figured something out with some new gadgets, why to keep sort of the blood flow going and everything going. It's really worked out as of late. So I feel healthy. I mean, this life in general, I mean, I was out on the water this morning on the jet speed, daughter wakeboarding and no pain usually sitting down pain going over bumps is pain, zero pain whatsoever. And I feel great. Now that could change tomorrow night because I've been through this before, but as of right this second, everything's great. And I'm looking forward to going on. I took this week off the sort of strategically hanging out with the family up. And as I say, you can't buy memories and you got to make them. So it's been in time with the family during the summer here in San Diego that I'm trying to take trying to flake off competitively. But most importantly, make sure my kids remember me and have a great time during the summers when we can spend some time together. Yeah. Well, we really appreciate you taking some time out to hang out with us. Don't pull a muscle answering this last question, Charlie, but I am playing Tori Pines for the first time ever on Friday. And I'm, I gotta be honest, I mean, I'm pretty freaked out about it. Freaked out. I am. I don't want to. It's a golf course. Yeah. Well, but you've seen me on, you know, certain courses, things don't always go my way. I mean, I'm, you know, I think I'm good enough to play a little over bogey golf, but I just give me anything I can take with me out to the course Friday, Charlie. I'll, it'll be forever appreciated. You know, Tori, Tori, you play in the south, I assume? Yes, we are. Yeah, we are. South golf course is the use of a caliber golf course. Now the rough, I assume not going to be up. I've been out there since January or February. So what do you want to do, Tori? It's actually not that demanding the golf course off the tee, I would say. I mean, it's a long golf course. So if you play the correct tee, so don't, you don't need to play all the way back and make a play in over 7,500 yards, whatever it is, just go out and play the correct tee. But most importantly, the greens are, the greens are structured very hard to almost repel balls and like the back, little shelf hits the center of the green. Don't, don't worry about where that pen is and try to, try to make a putt from the center of the green because getting up and down around those greens is sometimes challenging. So I wouldn't try to challenge those pens too much and just try to hit those center of the greens and hopefully make a couple long cuts for birdie. Oh man, I'm so, I made a long one today and I think that used it up for the week. I'm a little worried about that. Can you explain Brogy golf? Now that you have a professional golfer. Hold on, you made a long cut. You made a long cut. You used it for the week or the year. I'm not. Maybe the year. This one was long enough to baby. I use it for the year. I think you're right, Charlie. Yeah, Matt gets mad at me because I in my head, I play Bogey golf. So I, I add a, I add a stroke to every hole. And if I get a bogey, then I call it a par in my head. I say that's not a thing. Matt gets mad at me for doing that, but I don't know. That's how I make my way around the course. So I don't know what your thoughts on that are, but your thoughts are whatever you, you know your handicap and that's what's great about the game of golf is if you keep a valid handicap, I could go give you X amount of shots and we could have a great competition. That's what's great about. If you relevant, what par is for someone, I would say average golfers, but if you keep, if you actually keep score, you can have a great round or a great competition with anybody. No matter what their hand, I mean, I like the game was the guys on the golf course and I've had some of my best matches against the 17 to 14 handicap because guess what? They're getting a shot on every single hole and I've got to play my butt off. They make a par. It's a birdie. They make a birdie. It's an eagle. So I really enjoy those sometimes, those competitions amongst friends that are getting a ton of strokes. It makes me sort of, I mean, every shot means something because if you make a par, I've got to make a birdie. But so your thought process is fine, but I would challenge you to maybe try to make some par for birdies, not just bogeys for par. I challenge one of these days, one of these days, one of these days, maybe not Friday, but maybe the next time after that. Charlie, thanks so much for joining us. Have a great, happy 4th of July and you're welcome anytime. So you want to check in, just give us a call. We'd love to have you on and good luck. Enjoy the week with your family. Thanks, fellow. Enjoy the fourth also and we'll talk soon. Charlie Hoffman getting it done and we really appreciate it. As mentioned, little Charlie, never heard anybody coming up next. He's got a Scravenator t-shirt on. So he's ready for an hour of the Scravey Chronicles. It is Matt Scravey. So stick around for all that. Padres Rangers tomorrow, they'll follow our program. We get underway at two o'clock. So we'll see you then for Tony Gwyn Jr. Chris Ello. Mr. Scravey, enjoy the Chronicles. Their next, we'll talk to you tomorrow. Adios.
